I purchased this cooktop for its sleek look(no control knobs). I have had electric smooth ranges for many years and always liked their ease of use and cleaning. Hated the control knobs as they are the most difficult part of cleaning a stove. This cooktop has worked well even with touch controls. The only complaint is the chimes when turning on the burners or trying to turn on a burner while it is locked. Since the chimes are also a great safety feature, I will certainly get past them. I do wish I could use a burner and lock the cooktop so I couldn't accidentally turn on additional burners. Unfortunately, the lock only shut's off the entire cooktop. I just replaced my old cook top with this model and so far am impressed. The elements seem to heat up faster, and I like the ability to select the burner size. Because there are no protruding controls, when cooking for a large crowd I will throw some kitchen towels over the surface to create additional prep or other work space. I knocked off one star because the unit did not fit precisely into the existing space. It was a bit smaller than the old opening so we had to add a support piece and seal the back edge which was not overlapping the granite. It also has a deep section, which required lowering the oven situated below, and installing a new cabinet trim piece. If the GE fit guarantee is honored, I will be especially pleased. For those complaining about it is hard to keep clean – ALL glass cook tops are like this. Paying attention while cooking and using the provided products to clean up spills right away will maintain the sleek look.
I ordered this cooktop to replace another GE Profile unit that developed frequrecommended. It installed almost exactly in the previous units counter cutout. There was a minor interference with the counter top due to the relocation of the screws that hold on the control box cover on the underside of the cooktop. The Figidair cooktop was the second cooktop we purchased to replace out old one. We originally purchased a Chinese touch top stove. It has WiFi and BlueTooth capabilities, however nothing of any value has been implemented. You get an alert when turned on and you get to see what your temp controls are set at. That is it. It would be super nice and useful if you could interconnect to your Cafe microwave (CVM521P2MS1) and turn on the lights and exhaust fans when you turned on your cooktop. I'm working on switching our whole house away from gas to be fully electric. Replacing a gas cooktop with induction was the most controversial in our house. We've all gotten used to it, and it cooks just as well, and often better, than gas. We no longer have to run the fan just to boil water (to expel byproducts of burning gas). Spills clean up so much easier without the grates to deal with. The touch controls are very intuitive. We had a to buy a few more pots and pans to replace aluminum ones that were not compatible.I selected this model because it fit the existing cutout best, but on the short dimension it wouldn't fit at first. I had to sand down the granite edge enough so that it would slide in. There are also some vents in the back that were blocked by the plywood underlayer. My wife and I were a little skeptical about remodeling our kitchen and installing an induction countertop. We were huge fans of gas stove/ovens and making the move to electric or induction stove top was the only option. Our house is all electric, we really dislike electric stove top so induction was the choice. We are blown away by how well this thing cooks! Heating up cookware is extremely quick and even! This cooktop is a pain in the behind. This appliance will turn on and off burners, lock the control panel, change settings and jus mess things up all by itself during cooking if you are not keeping the control area absolutely spotless while also cooking. Now there is a catch 22 here since the process of whipping the control area also produces wild and unpredictable behavior of the cooktop when in use!! So be prepared to constantly while and readjust and unlock while not having your pasta water boiling over and spilling a lot of water on the surface. Well then you can try cleaning that mess!! Btw, I complained about this with customer service and in the end I was told that this is totally normal for this cooktop. Wow, what a product endorsement from the maker of this cooktop!! We upgraded our standard flat cooktop to induction after spending so much time in our house in 2020 (thanks, covid), and I was hesitant because of the mixed reviews, but the sale price was too good to pass up. After a very lengthy delay in getting it delivered (thanks, covid), it started up without a problem. Our cookware was already induction-compliant (all you need to check is whether a magnet sticks to the bottom of your cookware), so we got to get going immediately. We boiled water first, and it literally took 60 seconds. Even the install tech was blown away. Since then we have cooked quite a bit on it, and the only learning curve is that compared to traditional cooktops, this just doesn't need as much preheating time, so be careful not to burn your food, and probably cook on a lower setting than you're used to. Some users complained about a buzzing noise, and while it's there, it is not that bad. We usually have a vent fan running to deal with steam, and the vent fan easily covers up the buzzing sound. Even without a fan, the sound is no louder than an oven. Plus, clean up is super easy because there are no physical knobs to get in the way and collect grease etc.roomber
We replaced an electric cooktop with this induction-type because we were unable to run a gas line to the kitchen when we moved into our home. Having never used induction before, I was interested after reading the reviews about them. The reviews are true — it is very easy to use and virtually the same as gas. The heat adjusts as quickly as gas, and there is no worry about an open flame. The design is sleek-looking and the glass is sturdy. The only drawback is that it streaks easily when cleaning and I can't seem to ever get the streaks completely removed (maybe it's just me) after using multiple cleaners and cloths. So far so good! I added extended warranty because you pretty much have to these days (needed repair to my first, another brand). The Power Boil is a great feature. I agree that the warmer burner wasn't necessary~ would have preferred another 8 inch burner instead of that and the huge "Large Burner" (for canning, etc.) I'll never need. As for its messiness ~ it is. Spatters are everywhere after cooking. The 3-part cleaning kit provided works amazingly well ~ but you must spend 10 minutes after each stove use, and after cooling. I've removed the plastic knobs since they get dirty, as well as under them. This was the same with another brand ~ it's the nature of the glass. Had I known, I likely would not have gone with a cooktop when I built the kitchen (not to mention the difficulty in replacing it). Was aiming for kitchen cleanliness, but must also watch out for crumbs and drips that lodge in small space between glass and counter ~ a design flaw on all cooktops.GEsinceMom
It works fine. I am just not happy with any new appliance. I didn't think that I would have to buy all new pots and pans to use on the cook top. My Copper bottom pans jiggle when I cook with them. Also the stove top stays hot for a very long time so I have to end up removing the pot when I turn it down. (I would rather have that than not being hot enough) Still getting used to the stove top. I had a coil top electric stove for over 36 years and I loved that stove top. It was still working when I had to replace it.. Had to replace it since we were replacing our counter tops with granite. I am sure that this stove top will only last a few years like all the other new appliances we have bought.. Also there is a lot of maintenance to keeping it looking new. Lots of cleaning with special creams and tools. We bought a GE dishwasher which we do not like at all. It takes 175 minutes to wash the dishes and the soap (finish table) does not dissolve. It is a lot smaller than my previous dishwasher. So we are running it more often and it takes 3 times as long.
Having the largest burner at the back of the stove behind the dials is inconvenient. The "warming" burner is a wasted element. It doesn't heat at all unless on HIGH, and even that takes minutes to warm up. The cooktop is very sensitive to cookware as it's recommended not to use curved-bottomed pans, enamel coated or cast iron. Cleaning the cooktop requires special cleaners. We like the product features. It works well and is easy to use. But within a month of installation, defects in the glass top are already showing up. White spots under the glass in random places and larger grey spots under the glass around the burners. There is nothing we can do to remove those spots and this is in a single month of use. We expect this to continue to get worse, but since it is the ONLY downdraft electric cooktop made now, we have no choice but to use it.Merc99

This was installed a month ago. I bought my house 10 years ago, and had an old jennaire unit. I agonized about this decision for a few years before finally deciding on this unit. We like the product features. It works well and is easy to use. But within a month of installation, defects in the glass top are already showing up. White spots under the glass in random places and larger grey spots under the glass around the burners. There is nothing we can do to remove those spots and this is in a single month of use. We are disappointed in this stovetop which has a few features that need to be improved, in our opinion. 1. If it difficult to see the outlines for the pans on the stovetop. 2. The knobs, although substantial which is good, would be easier to turn on and off if the gripping surface was not as smooth. If your hands are wet at all, it is hard to get a turning grip without using a cloth or paper towel to help. 3. The stovetop does not clean up easily and it is critical to use the proper pans with only stainless steel bottoms otherwise, marks are left on the stovetop that will not go away. 4. The fan works well and has a good draw which is nice, however, it is difficult to clean the bottom of the drip pan and it is not removeable. My husband usually cleans the stove but he is unable to do the drip pan because his hands do not fit easily into the opening. I also find it difficult and my hands are an average size. 5. I would not purchase this stovetop again with the current problems I have stated above.Coastal
Fantastic cooktop with a great contemporary look and amazing suction on the down draft. The one thing to keep in mind is that real estate it requires underneath. There is a huge fan unit that takes up a lot of space and needs to be accounted for, however even at highest setting the fan is very quiet yet proves very efficient. It still worked, we were simply upgrading the countertop and thought it was best to put in a new cooktop and not try to use the old one. I bought this cooktop 2 years ago and it has already stopped working. It look and worked great when it was working. We had 2 different Frigidaire techs come out and had to pay a $99 service fee each time. Nothing was under warranty and they aren’t sure what can be fixed. We are now having to buy a new cooktop. This cooktop produces even, precise, and rapid induction heating and takes some practice to get used to. Boils water very quickly! An interesting feature of induction is the cooktop itself is not actually heating, but rather the cookware heats up which in turn returns heat to the cooktop surface. Induction does require specific cookware, and the stainless steel set I'd used for 20+ years was not compatible. Most modern stainless cookware will now be compatible, as is cast iron. Bridge mode of the two smaller units looks promising but I've read this can create uneven heating (on a griddle, for example). The slider heat controls are not ideal. All in all, this unit is excellent so far.ndf2
I purchased a Frigidaire induction cooktop to replace a GE profile cooktop that I broke. I wanted to replace the GE with another GE to make sure it fit in my granite countertop …but in these days of Covid that became impossible. I’m very pleased with the Frigidaire it fit beautifully actually fit better I don’t think it heats up quite as fast as the GE but I’ve gotten use to it. I like the control panel better and the fact that you can lock in the setting you choose. It also has a timer I like the layout and all in all I’m very very pleased with the Frigidaire induction cooktop. I would definitely recommend a Frigidaire cooktop!LesleyM

Can't bring water to a hard boil, just gets to the point of a steaming simmer then the elements cycle off and on and the water will never boil. Thin tin or even stainless pots with a thicker base will not work well on these electric stoves. There must be some sensor preventing it from detecting a pot etc??? The best heating we've been able to get is with cast iron pots and pans. The Caphalon 12qt pot that we just got wilI have to take back because it doesn't work, we gave away all of our light cookware. If you don't have to boil anything this will work great for you. We may as well have gotten the induction cooktop because we didn't want to buy new pots and pans to use it but that's what we are doing anyway. Functionally, it works great. The controls are easy to select and there is lots of room to cook several pans at the same time. Reaction time for heat adjustment is reasonable and the surface is fairly easy to clean and keep clean for great appearance.Canuk
When our old cooktop needed to be replaced, we decided that we would like to upgrade that area of the kitchen. For that reason, we chose a Bosch cooktop. We are retirees and have always enjoyed our own home cooking better than eating out. We really like the intuitive feel of this cooktop. We like the timed cooking feature, the bridge feature and we even use the timer around the kitchen a lot. We found it to be so user friendly that we almost did not need to read the owners manual. I'm not at all impressed with this cooktop. I thought that with the Bosch name behind it that it would be a quality item. It takes forever to heat up and is horrible to keep clean. I've had it less than six months and the glass is already scratched. It's seems difficult to get quality appliances anymore. My last cooktop was over 20 years old. We have actually bought 2 of these! The first one when we started remodeling our kitchen. It heats water to a boil in 2 minutes or less. Easy to clean and easy to use. The installation was easy (three wire). Just remember to turn off the power at the circuit breaker for the install. The unit is light so easy to place into the counter top. As this is my first induction cook top, I can't compare this induction technology to others. However, compared to my previous electric stove, the unit heats up pans quickly (especially when using the Power boost function) and is easy to clean. The locking and timer features seem like great features too but I haven't used them (other than testing them out).
