I’m using it with my 4 ceiling speakers. It works great. But there are too many buttons, and the users guide is just way too simple. It takes me much time to make it work with Amazon Echo. Another issue is, I unable to change the default setting. I mostly use the Bluetooth function. This is not the default option when the amp reboot (I power it off during the night through a smart plug), I cannot change the Bluetooth as the default setting when the amp is powered on. So, I have to manually click the button twice every morning manually after I ask Alexa to power on the amp.ZZ

Took almost 2 weeks to arrive. When it did, i found the factory box had previously been opened and all the security tape was cut. Inside the box was a used, scratched, incomplete amplifier. No paperwork, no gain knob, no factory packaging. If I wanted to roll the dice on a used amp I would have bought one from eBay. Not CEA-2006 Compliant, not even close to 150 Watts per channel! MAYBE hits 75 Watts across two channels at 2 ohms. Sounds clear with 6.5" speakers, might be okay on a cheap 8" subwoofer in bridged mode, but can't really reproduce signals below 40 Hz with any accuracy. I wouldn't touch this for anything but front-end. It sounds clear for full-range fronts (haven't had any ground-loop issues), but any subwoofer will be highly disappointing. We tried several subwoofers and found the best configuration was driving each 4-Ohm voice coil in bridged mode to maximize power output. Incredibly disappointing compared to our MTX TM904. Just saw a Dyno Test for this on you tube, it confirmed what I suspected.InfoTechMan

I chose this amp for 4 channel set-up in my 16 mustang. I wasn't sold on the tiny class D models claiming huge numbers and excellent sound, so I opted for this to have more of a traditional set of features and low current draw. Im also using a self powered sub setup, so I didnt need monstrous power from this. It does seem to be all its advertised to be, Im very happy so far. It also came with bare wire end RCA connections so a line-level device is not needed, it can handle the stronger (speaker level) signal into RCA jacks. Only thing I have to complain about is the "output" RCAs are not passthrough signal to another amp..they appear to be for INPUT from the head unit if only one set is used..wasted since you can use the "A" RCA inputs for that purpose..mach_tork
Great power output for a little class-d amp. Use it to replace factory amp. Direct plug and providing you purchase the right wire harness for your application. We just added this amp to my 2019 Tundra OEM system (non-JBL) with no other modifications. Wow. I was really blown way more away than I was expecting the stereo to sound like with just more oomph. The bass response is there, which it wasn't. The whole sound range just sounds waaaaay better. The XM-GS4 is small in size and well laid out. A soft glowing white power light sits atop the amp. Testing with short circuits produced immediate shutdown of the amp and a red protection light. Restarting the amp cleared the fault for normal operation to resume.The test vehicle includes a component set of Pioneer TS-Z65CH speakers with a sensitivity of 85 db and full sound deadening. Amp gain was set to produce an output current of 16.5 amps with a 100hz test tone. At slightly over 1/2 volume the XM-GS4 hit the maximum output for my comfort level. This amplifier has plenty of power. Frequency response was even, midbass was dynamic, imaging was excellent, vocals were airy. You would be hard-pressed to find any faults with this amplifier. The heat sink did not even feel warm and the fan did not kick on. All of this at this price point represents an amazing value considering the number of open box units for sale at an even lower price. I love love love this amp.My unit was an open box and appeared unopened. This amp also won an amplifier shootout, besting amps which cost far more in a blind test.Julian

The name says it all Rockford Fosgate need I say anymore. I bought this one to replace a 600×5 prime amp that has a little problem with it, This amp is really easy to setup and install. It's loud and Crystal clear at full volume you can hear the mids and the highs very crisp and clear. This has to be hands down one of the best amps I have ever bought so far so good I really love it and would recommend this amp to anyone who is looking for a great product like this one. Rockford Fosgate punch products are still top of the line. This amp packs a lot of very useable power and the butter worth cross over is a great feature for the head units that don't have one and the tune ability are set it and forget it with a very useful setup CD that comes with it.harley00joseph
Installed this amp to power my front components and rear speaters in my car. The CLEAN setup is genius and this amp is clean and powerful. If I turn up the volume it pumps clean and clear power to my RF punch components. Perfect amp for my setup. Would highly recommend Rockford Fosgate. I have always used RF in my cars since the early punch 45s were around. The amp had over 500 watts of RMS on the birth sheet. Cant find any negatives about the amp. Installed this little guy behind my new single DIN mechless pioneer deck. Since i have the shaker 500 system and am still using the shaker subs, i opted to use the Pioneer RCA's for the factory subs and use the line level inputs to feed the Alpine powering the 4 full range speakers. The pioneer head unit was loud enough to begin with but adding the Alpine made everything so much louder and clearer. The Alpine does get a bit warm when in use but its negligible. I have the gain set at 25% and there's no need to go higher. All in all i am happy with my setup and would use the amp again. Install was pretty easy and straightforward. When i swap the shaker subs i will reconnect the RCA jacks to the alpine to see if there is any improvement in sound.killeth
It was a nice Plug and Play and way too much wiring to try and put somewhere. Had to put wireloom on all of it for protection against the sharp edges of Civic dash braces. For my 2002 Civic LX sedan it would have fit better behind my accessory plug panel if it was a little shorter. I cut some 1/4" rubber pieces to put on the right and left side to protect the wires coming out of the amp from those sharp edges of the braces. It will only fit with the label facing outward(or 180 inward) since that is the thinnest dimension or the accessory plug will hit when installing that panel.senglert7nga
My previous car audio setup before adding this was alright but not great I could hit about 14 on the head unit (new alpine one) with brand new speakers before major distortion started to occur. After adding this it boosted the sound level at lower volumes as well as allows me to reach a higher level of sound before the distortion occurs. It is also great in that at least in my vehicle it can hide behind the head unit and not have to worry about running any wiring.trehi-19

I chose this amp for 4 channel set-up in my 16 mustang. I wasn't sold on the tiny class D models claiming huge numbers and excellent sound, so I opted for this to have more of a traditional set of features and low current draw. Im also using a self powered sub setup, so I didnt need monstrous power from this. It does seem to be all its advertised to be, Im very happy so far. It also came with bare wire end RCA connections so a line-level device is not needed, it can handle the stronger (speaker level) signal into RCA jacks. Only thing I have to complain about is the "output" RCAs are not passthrough signal to another amp..they appear to be for INPUT from the head unit if only one set is used..wasted since you can use the "A" RCA inputs for that purpose..mach_tork
Great power output for a little class-d amp. Use it to replace factory amp. Direct plug and providing you purchase the right wire harness for your application. I was happy with amplifier until I one of my mixing projects heavy on stereo specificity did not turn out well. To summarize the headphone jack puts out stereo, meaning if you move the balance of your input source to the left you hear sound only in one side of headphones however that is not the case with the speaker outputs and I tried all possible configurations. The specs should say "speaker output: quad mono". Nearly 60 days later Walmart has my back as usual and it's going back to the local store and is the reason I go to Walmart first for all online purchases.ESP808
Unbelievable that such a unit is even sold. You have to put left and right speakers on 2 different channels if you want balance control, meaning there are really only 2 speaker channels, not 4. In the manual, the speaker volume controls are labeled as input, not output. When the unit is shut off, it forgets the input choice and the FM station it was tuned to. Every time you turn it on you have to re-select FM and re-tune to the desired station. It has electronic noise when I connect to my computer to digitize some old tapes.Kevin

I got this amp because my Sony XAV-AX3000 head unit only produces 20w RMS and 55w peak (and it hardly ever hits it’s peak, but then again head units can only provide so much juice). All in all, i am very happy with the performance of this little compact beast. Was quite easy to install and get up and running in less than an hour (didn’t have to run power from the battery since my car has a 20a fuse for the audio, so that saved me from a lot of unwanted work). I have 4 kicker 46CSC654 speakers rated at 100w RMS and 300w peak and now paired with this little amp (which now sits in my glove box), they really sound crisp and clear. This amp only provides half the required RMS power to drive the kickers, but they sound considerably better than when connected to the head unit. One thing to note though is that this little bad boy heats up quite a bit. Lets just say after turning on the car and listening to music for 5 minutes, this unit gets so hot i could not keep my hand on top of it for longer than 5 seconds. Didn’t really expect that much heat from a little amp, especially one that has Class D circuitry. This is the main reason why i docked one star and may possibly return it. If it starts overheating and shuts down though, i will be definitely returning it – but lets hope it doesn’t. Would really recommend this unit to anyone that doesn’t have enough room in their car to mount an amp. This unit easily fits behind the dash or in the glove box with the only caveat being its heat output.TfzVang

I purchased a BasX A3 and connected it to a Marantz 6012 receiver. My reason for purchase was similar to DMK's review/intentions. My front L&R (Focal Aria 926) and center speaker (LSIM706C) crave more power, and it seemed that the Marantz could deliver but only when pushed. Not long after I purchase the Marantz, I ordered an AC Infinity AIRCOM T10 to help with cooling. Due to the Emotive taking up the front three channels it has helped the Marantz maintain its cool. I have also noticed a more vivid sound, and better clarity. As a consumer of a moderately priced item you want it to work and fulfill what it was intended to do. However, your mind and ears also tell you everything is great; helping to rationalize the purchase. The Emotiva BasX A3 WORKS! My opinion was validated when others heard the before and after, and said, "This sounds so much better" #worthit The amplifier is very well constructed and aesthetically pleasing. I am very pleased with how the item arrived. Double boxed, well insulated with Styrofoam, and a little bit of 'theater' with the black material the surrounded the amplifier. I am very impressed with Emotiva, quality throughout from the packaging to the build and sound. I was adding 4 Klipsch Atmos speakers to my system for a 7.2.4 setup and needed an amp to run my front three speakers, letting my Yamaha RX-A3070r handle my side and rear surrounds, and Atmos speakers. I run all Klipsch 8 ohm speakers in my setup and it doesn't take a ton of power to drive them. I definitely don't have to worry about my front stage at all now with the A3 pumping 140 watts per channel of clean power to my left/right towers and center channel speaker which are all 150 watt RMS. The setup was simple and more importantly the resulting sound is great! Something simple important, I like the option to turn the front LED's off if I want. Another testament to Emotiva's attention to detail. The price to performance of Emotiva's Basx line is awesome, especially for someone like me who wants great sound but can't justify breaking the bank for it . The A3 is built like a tank so I am expecting this piece of gear will last for a very long time.
I have had many components over my audio journey of over 40 yrs. My favorites have always been the "Monster Receivers" of the mid to late '70's. I finally purchased two over the last few years via on-line auction (Sansui 9090 and the Marantz 2325). I had them serviced by a very competent audio repairman here in Pittsburgh who replaced what was needed. They sounded perfect but had to sell them due to job loss. When I got back on my feet I went shopping for the same components on e-bay and found that they were selling for 2-3 times ($2k-$3.5k) more than what I paid back in 2012 and 2014. They were unaffordable for me. Anyhow I purchased some new integrated amps and returned them. They just don't sound right. They included a Cambridge audio integrated amp over $1200 and a Rogue integrated that approached $2000. Sent it back too. I ended up buying a 50 year old Sansui 2000A that is in great shape but lacking the power (39 Watts) , although it sounded MUCH better than the prementioned Rogue and Cambridge. Much more midrange and over all great sound. I noticed it had a Pre-out and thought a great idea would be to buy a separate amp because the Sansui's pre amp was much better than the integrates I had just returned. WELL what a differences! This two channel Amp is perfect for these purposes. I'm beyond happy with my choice. Bottom line is that this amp is perfect for adding some power to the lower powered classic receivers from the '70's. Make sure the receiver has a "Pre-Amp Out" and have a competent repairman to check the preamp section of the component and you'll be very happy. This will work with Marantz, Sansui very well.MBF

I bought it on ebay. It's not the sellers fault it was a brand new Boss 4 Channel Amp that cost $35 I wasn't expecting window shattering music. I was however expecting to be able to listen to music louder than my pioneer stereo puts out. I hooked up the amp with the truck off it sounded great I was very shortly excited. As soon as I started the truck with no music playing the horrible noise this amp doesn't filter out is unbelievable for an amp made in 2018. Using this in conjunction with an RD1500 in a regular cab Silverado. Not yet installed but it is running on my test bench on a set of Kickers bookshelf demo speakers. Good, clean sound and plenty of power while running in 2 channel mode.Shipping and customer service experience was not what I expected; both were slower than promised. Product is great.Ryan
I have this amp installed in my 2013 Toyota Tundra Crew Max. It's pushing the 6×9 C2 coaxial in the front and C2 6.5s coaxials in the back. I also have an RD 1000 amp Mono pushing 2 10W3 subs. The sound is amazing. Thanks to Ali and the guys at Auto Thunder in Pasadena Tx that worked fast on the installation.
