I didn?t buy this here at Revzilla, but I recently put this in my new 2021 DR-Z400SM for the first oil change at 600 miles and I have to say, I?m absolutely stunned at the difference between Motul 7100 10W-50 and the stock 10W-40 mineral oil from Suzuki. The bike is noticeably quieter, the engine produces less heat to the point where I can actually feel the difference when putting a hand near the engine, and most of all, there?s much less vibration. About 150 miles before the oil change I had put IMS pegs on the bike, was considering going back to the stock rubber-topped pegs because of vibrations that got a little irritating on a 80 minute ride. After the oil change, there?s a massive reduction in vibration that results in no discomfort at all on the pegs. It?s remarkable stuff, a huge difference. This is all I?ll be using from now on, including in any future motorcycles I get. Please buy this and run it in yours, it?s absolutely more than worth every penny.Ryan
Not sure if that "Motul smell" is on purpose or just because of their proprietary tech. Nor am I going to pretend I can feel the difference or anything, I am no engineer or pro racer. However, Motul has a fantastic reputation for a reason, and this is their "good stuff", you really can't go wrong. I run it in my '21 XSR700.Anonymous

My Honda VFR800 Interceptor has historically used Mobil 1 4T, but for the past two riding seasons, I've switched to this Valvoline product. The bike doesn't perform any different and I get clean shifts from the transmission and good engagement from the clutch. The VFR has 65,000 miles and shows no indication that it's going to stop anytime soon.Brian
You are never going to get valve noise out of a Triumph Vertical Twin. Like they say, if it isn't making noise, it's burning the valves… but after using Valvoline Four Stroke Synthetic my 865 cc sounds better than it ever has. Even when hot it still ticks, but it is quieter and it runs much smoother. The price only makes it a smarter buy. Valvoline has always been my oil of choice. 10W40 in my 65 Chevelle in my younger years, 50 wt Racing Oil in my Sportster, and 20w50 Synthetic in my Triumph. My passenger cars and trucks have always used Valvoline. Great oil!
Ive used the Dino 20w50 for 8 years on the same bike, no problem. When I installed a new clutch pack, I started running the full synthetic 20w50 and began to have Top gear clutch slippage. I installed a heavier clutch spring which helped but slipping returned I then started looking at the clutch plate fibers, and the pads were Hard glazed, installed some new fibers (not glazed), worked for a few weeks and slipping returned, they glazed also. Lightly scuffed them with a wire brush and went back to 20w50 Dino oil, been fine and normal ever since. I paid 40% more for an oil that created clutch issues. The valvoline Dino oil is fine, But beware of the full synthetic, it might be an MA2 oil, but doesnt matter if it hard glazes the fibers, cause clutch slip will eventually begin. Yeah Im shocked , but stick to the Dino oil

Used this in my first bike and after further research on Motul's website I realized it fits the exact specifications needed for my 2009 DRZ400SM. Fairly certain it's what the previous owner used. No issues at all. From my very limited experience, the clutch feels great and engine runs smoooooth.Anonymous

Great oil. The "smooth shifting" formula really makes a difference. Had Motul in my old race bike. Switched to another name brand synthetic from a sponsor. Shifting became more difficult. Changed back to Motul & shifting got easier. I would not have have believed it if not for this experience. I have run it exclusively ever since. Great oil, and no engine problems.Jacka
I bought this last year about this time to change oil for winter storage. I decided to go ahead and run it in the bike for the season this year since I knew I would not be riding a lot of miles and no aggressive riding compared to usual years. I have been using 300v over the past few years so I will compare to that. After about 1500 kms of just commuting to my shop and a few evening rides for enjoyment this oil started isbehaving. It got very dirty looking for some reason. What bothered me about it is that shifting did not feel good at all. We know the difference of feel between crappy oil and nice oil when shifting. This felt on the crappy end of the spectrum. I have not had the oil tested nor do I ever intend to. I also know that the 300v is not usually a correct choice but I was doing some pretty hard riding in some hot conditions for long days at a time. I am going to move to 7100 and give that a try. I will likely never come back to this oil.syazoo
I was running Amsoils full synthetic for about 60k miles in my 2011 Yamaha R1 strictly commuting, kept getting the oil pressure light when riding VERY hard on the highway. Changed oil at proper intervals as well. Just made the switch at 70k to Motul 5100 and what a difference !! Smoother shifts, less valve train tick, and no oil pressure light !! Give it a try you will notice an immediate difference. I bought 1 gal plus 2 quarts, there very cool with the pop out nozzle ! Had some zillow cash in the bank so got a killer deal !Addison

I got an '03 Triumph Tiger 955i a couple of years ago. The previous owner was using AMSOIL synthetic but the Triumph manual specified this Mobil1 10w40. The bike was using half a litre of oil every thousand kilometres previously. With the Mobil the oil consumption has all but disappeared (less than 100ml / 1000kms now). The bike runs quietly and the temperature gauge is never stressed. I was worried about clutch pickup when I first got it, but that too seems to have repaired itself. I can see why Triumph recommends this oil for this bike. I wouldn't run anything else. I do one oil and K&N filter change at the end of each season and the oil comes out honey coloured. Good oil = happy Triumph triple.tk1ng
I really enjoy this oil. It's burn life is pretty long, and the color is perfect for being able to tell when im getting close to an oil change when I look in my engines spy glass. Bike seems to run better after each oil change, highly recommended especially if you have a bike with higher mileage like mine.Trevor
I needed to do the oil change service for the Honda motorcycle 2015 VT1300CT. I decided to go with Mobil-1 Racing 4T Motorcycle (10W-40) Full Synthetic. I'm confidence with the Mobil one brand it is my personal preference for the quality durability, prices and reputation of the manufactures.Rey

Reviews:
I was skeptical about some of the claims of ‘better shifting’. After an oil/filter change and a 75 mile ride I believe. I normally use Bel-Ray motorcycle mineral oil or factory Suzuki motorcycle oil. This was cheaper and genuinely improved shift performance. No clunky or long shifts. The gearbox really felt improved. I’ve put 20,000 miles on this bike and it has never shifted this well before. Geniunely impressed with this oil and will continue to use. Highly recommended to try. The best oil I’ve found for my motorcycle.Eazyduzit
I have short oil change intervals in my dirtbike and this Valvoline has always protected the engine and transmission. I’ve run synthetics rated for motorcycles in it but can’t tell any difference so I usually just run this. I flush and change it every time. Oil is still transparent when I change it.Steve

I bought this as it is the best oil on the market. But it is expensive though. When I bought my bike used, R1 2007 with only 10,000 miles, the seller put a very cheap oil in it and it lasted only 1,000 miles, after that it smelled like burned oil when I was starting up my bike and I didn't like that, so I bought this oil, so I will see if it last longer than 1,000 miles for the price, otherwise I will go with a slightly cheaper Motul oil like the Motul 7100 4T. Pros: Bright color to see through the small window. Smells kinda good, but not very flower-ish. I used the 15W50 which makes the shifting not mechanical and very smooth, I will try the 15w60 next time to see if it is even more smooth. Cons: Revzilla sells it at $85.52 but matched the Amazon price of $61.00. So it is very expensive…Olivier
I was going to by the 7100 Syn but the difference in price was not exorbitant and despite everyone saying it was overkill to go to the 300V riding conditions in BC are so variable from sea to mountain especially with last year's 'heat dome' putting all bikes under heat conditions that were extraordinary. From flat to hills to mountain climbs from cool Fraser Valley nights to hot Okanagan days using the 10W-40 300V just gives you the protection that is worth the small price increase over the 7100.SeaDog77
What else would I use? Never put anything else in my Thruxton, and probably never will. Let my 12 year old son help me do the oil change last time. I told him you never skimp on Breaks, Batteries, tires, or oil. Held up the bottle and said “If you can’t remember the name when you get your own, remember this bottle, THIS is your oil son!”Jason

I just bought a new 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 300, put 500 miles on the factory oil and changed it without even second guessing using Mobil. Being my first bike, Mobil made it simple with the packaging to grab the right oil the first time. Drained, and installed new filter and filled to proper level and went for a ride. The difference was instantly noticeable, quieter, smoother, and the clutch takeup now has a better feel. Mobil in my Mercedes and Corvette sense new and won't never switch.BrianB
I ride a 2008 Yamagata R6 that has been a race/track bike most of its life. I race at the expert level and have been using racing 4t oil most of that time. The engine has been through 7 full seasons of racing and multiple track days in between races and has never been apart. Even the clutch has yet to be replaced, although I'll be doing that soon. What more needs to be said, race proven, best engine protection you can get. Hey mobile 1, do you want to sponsor me?!BenJammin

Thanks for you time Bobbostolz_0
Conducting yearly maintenance no my 10 year old Toro 22inch recycler lawnmower. Manual calls for SAE-30 to keep it in tip top shape. Drained the old fluid which was extremely dark and put in 10 ounces of this stuff (already had 8 from another bottle). Added some gas and the lawnmower started on the 1st pull! Compared to what other places were asking for SAE-30, this was by far the best deal available. Nice job Walmart!David

Reviews:
I use this product in my Ford F250 6.0L PSD. I noticed my turbo spooling up easier and quicker after switching from conventional oil. The 6.0L PSD's are very tough on the oil due to the high shearing of the oil pressure run fuel system and the lubrication of a hot turbo. Many professionals highly recommend changing at 6000 miles in the 6.0 PSD. I run my diesel kind of hard with pulling a lot of heavy loads and running a hot tune for daily driving and playing around, my last oil change was at 9000 miles. Oil was still full without adding any, still feels more slippery than new conventional. I reuse it in old oil burning engines and it cuts the oil consumption in half. A relative of mine has been using my drained Amsoil in their beater car for over a year and it cut way down on the oil consumption. I would run the oil longer in my 6.0, but like to recycle it into the older engines. I use only the Amsoil long life oil filter. I may purchase the oil test kit in the future just to see if there is any depletion in the strength of the oil, but I am very happy with my use of this product.Casey
Excellent lubrication, the oil is super slick even when it's time to change. I use this in my motorcycle and wish I'd had it many times before. I used to use Lucas, while it's not a bad oil (at least I don't think it is) I figured Id give Amsoil a shot, and at least to say, I'm not looking back. My bike shifts smoother actually runs slightly cooler and just feels better all-around in general. I'm all about reliability and so far I'm sold. Great stuff, only downfall is it's a little pricey, but I guess you pay for what you get and good things don't come cheap. Going to try it in my truck next time around. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for the best product with the rest and reassurance that you're putting good stuff in your machine.Danny

Ran Amsoil in all 3 reservoirs on my Harley Ultra Limited for the first 20k miles. Noticed a immediate difference in shifting after switching to Royal Purple. So much smoother and easier to find neutral. This is the second Harley I’ve had that I’ve felt the difference in. I will only be running Royal Purple from now on.Bob C.
