The easiest part of our fireplace installation was the purchase. The people we dealt with were very accommodating and we received the fireplace on a timely basis. However due to current conditions in the workplace, we had to wait several months for the final installation. Now that we have it we couldn’t be happier. When we made the decision to renovate/update our living room, there were 2 things I was looking for in an electric fireplace: 1. Modern – we wanted something that was different that before, and wanted the linear look. We opted not to purchase the trim kit (although you couldn’t go wrong there either) and absolutely love how it turned out. 2. Realistic Flames – I didn’t realize how many generic/fake looking options there are. After doing enough research to write a syllabus on electric fireplaces, we went with the Dimplex Ignite XLF50, and couldn’t have made a better choice. Installation was fairly simple, and the finished product and look turned out better than we ever could’ve imagined, as evidenced by the number of people who can’t believe it’s not gas. I got an XLF60 a year ago and LOVE IT! Everyone that has come to my house wants one. It is not loud, even on the highest heat setting, as the other reviewer posted. In fact, it is so quiet that if I do not have the lights on I have almost forgot to turn it off before leaving the house. Yes, the heater can be ran with no lights. There are several heat settings, as well as, multiple color options and brightness levels, which are a gorgeous ambiance especially at night with the lights off. The heat comes out from the top of the unit. The unit itself does not get hot so if you place yours lower to the ground like I did mine it will not burn a child or animal. My dogs love laying in front of mine when the season turns cold. I also ran mine alot last winter and it did not make my electric bill skyrocket either. It was also fairly easy to assemble and install. I say fairly easy to assemble because my husband and I were a little confused at first how to install the glass mirror that goes on the inside but once we figured out you have to unscrew and remove the entire pre-assembled bar at the top the assembly took maybe 10 minutes after that. The Sierra line had it all – multiple options for the fire bed all included (logs, crystals, or rocks), simple mounting method for both wall or recessed, disappearing pushbuttons, and an easy to replace and secure glass cover. I am in awe of this fireplace. I can say it has the best features. I have been using for a few weeks. It is beautiful and modern. It heats one of my biggest rooms in my home. It includes interchangeable glass rocks, white stone pebbles, and a plastic or fiberglass fire log. It can be changed to form different mode displays. We are really enjoying our electric fireplace. The installation process was very easy. The rough-in specs were accurate and the fireplace mounted with ease. Installing the glass was simple – only two screws. The fireplace puts out a fair amount of heat – not going to heat the entire room – but you can certainly feel the heat. I’ve got a 4 year old and 2 year old and my primary concern was the heating element. The front of the fireplace does not get extremely hot and is safe to the touch. Aesthetically, it is very pretty and my kids enjoy the “flames” change colors. It’s exceeded our expectations!Daniel G.
This looks great. I will say that I’m disappointed that it has a hum when it is flame only. I expected it to sound like a space heater when the heat was on, but it’s too noisy for my liking in general. Also bought a Dimplex Sierra to compare—the Dimplex made no noise when the flame alone was on. The Dimplex also had a larger heating element (2 inches longer than the TS) and put out more heat. First of all the shipping was amazing and only a few days. Customer service is wonderful. We got it about 3 days after ordering. I had a “honey I have an idea” moment and just ran with it. I love the way it turned out and made our new house become a home to us. The only thing is we had an old one in a furniture piece that had a thermostat. That was nice so it would shut off when it reached a certain temp. But this one is better quality and style. I love that you can do either the crystals or log. The bookcases are Billy from ikea with oxberg doors. One recommendation is to find an electrician to run a dedicated line. The amp draw is 11+. The fireplace only came with the rocks. I have made several attempts to contact RWFlame and they completely refuse to respond. I love it! I chose the 42 inch vs the 50 inch and I’m glad I did. It’s the perfect size. Installation was pretty easy once I figured it out (the instructions aren’t super clear, so read them carefully before install). I love that it can be recessed completely into the cabinetry. One thing that would be nice is if they added some crackling fire sound effects, just to add to the ambience. This was a great value for the price.Cory H.

Well I would love to rate my experience using my fireplace if I ever received it. It’s been close to a month and no fireplace. The company Central freight lines has failed to deliver this fireplace three times. I’ve taken off of work three times to receive this fireplace and I’ve lost more money than the fireplace has cost waiting for it to show up. I called modern blaze yesterday and they were supposed to call me back letting me know after they spoke to their shipping company and the manufacture when I would get my fireplace. I have received plenty of emails to rate my experience, but you guys have yet to fulfill this order. Can you see the redundancy in this review. Purchased the Modern Flames Spectrum Slimline 50'' Wall Mount / Recessed Linear Electric Fireplace. Unfortunately after approximately two weeks of use, the unit inadvertently turns on by itself. Contacted the company and they said this was unusual. Thought it could be the main control panel or triggered by other device signals in the house. They sent me a replacement control panel which requires me having to take the unit apart and install the new panel. An inconvenience I wasn't expecting having paid $1100 for what I thought was a top end unit. At that price I would have expected to be provided with a new unit. Disappointed to say the least. We love our fireplace, the Dynasty Harmony BEF- 57”. It was easy to install and even easier to operate, energy efficient and has a variety of options for customizing the look. In addition to controls hidden on the front of the fireplace, the Harmony BEF also comes with a remote control. The remote controls all of the features including the 3 different Flame Colors and 13 different Bed Color Options! Our favorite choice is the simple orange flame with the bed colors off, which we think provides the most realistic look. It also has a heater which is really nice on chilly days! The heater is front facing, which means you do not need to add a vent when installing! The Lifesmart fireplace is Beautiful! First putting it together was simple! All you need is a screwdriver to open the glass from to remove the styrofoam packing. To assemble the shelf it basically came with built-in tools to do its assembly. It took all of 5 minutes and only one person. Once it was assembled all I had to do was plug it in to make it work and put batteries in the remote. I have put this beautiful fireplace/tv stand in my dining room. At this time we are choosing not to put a TV on it because our TV sound went out. We will eventually put a TV on it but for now, we are enjoying just having the beauty of the glow of the fire instead of the glow of the TV. The fireplace warms our fairly large room within about 20 minutes and the heat goes out into the rest of the house. it has been nice not having to run the heater that uses gas. The LifeSmart 60 Inch Media Fireplace came to me on a freight truck. It arrived fully assembled, which was a huge relief. The faux brick exterior is more of a tan color, rather than the white in the online photo. The raised shelf that is meant for a TV seems thin and not very well supported. I am not sure I would put a 60 inch TV on it. We have enjoyed the warmth this fireplace puts out. It really does heat up a large room. After reading some of these reviews I decided to write this positive review. I really enjoy this fireplace after having it installed by a professional last year. It has operated as I expected and exceeded my expectations on looks as well as relaxing to look as well as warming up the room. If I don’t want the warmth I just leave the blower off. The energy use is not even noticeable on my bill. I guess if I were to choose one minor negative it would be when the fireplace is off. At that time you can see the back of it which to me does not look real; but others tell me it still looks good. I would purchase this again in a heartbeat!
Fireplace is perfectly fine. Flames are realistic enough. Looks great recessed into a rock wall. We had the choice between buying it at a local store for $200 more and decided to save money. Do not waste your money on the separate crackle sound machine, unless the sound of a forest fire is relaxing to you.Learned my lesson

We had a gas fireplace in our previous home and missed having the fireplace, wanted to do gas this time around as well but finances didn't allow for it, so wanted to get an electric fireplace that put out some heat but also look relatively "real" as possible. I have been using the fireplace for about 1 week. Controls on the touchscreen are almost invisible which makes the visuals nice and clean. The fire effect is very well done. Almost 0 noise while running without the heater on. I would recommend this fireplace to family and friends. Kids love all the colour options. My current rating is one star for this reason – The 60" Cambridge fireplace Heater WAS beautiful – purchased it in May – installed it in July (renovated our living room). We turned it on maybe 3 times for no longer than 5 minutes. Now it is September 4. I turned it on yesterday and it is beeping and showing a U1.3 Code. 5/5 stars for our fireplace. We were comparing this fireplace with the 60 inch dimplex electric fireplace and decided to try the Napoleon to save a little bit of money. It was well worth it. The fireplace works great and looks very sleek and fashionable. We bought this more for the aesthetics and not the heat so I con not comment much on the heat source. People have commented how the worst part of the fireplace is the remote, however I feel this is fine. It does feel maybe a little cheap but it works great and we have had no issue, therefore, nothing to complain about. It was very easy to install and set up, the crystals look great. I spent a good deal of time trying to find an electric fireplace that would fit in a very tricky spot. We built an addition that includes an unheated three seasons room, and after it was built we decided we wanted something to take the chill off that room if we wanted to use it during the colder seasons. But finding a slim wall mount fireplace with front facing vents isn't the easiest task to do after the fact. Fortunately, we found one here and after calling to ask a few questions, decided to make a purchase. The fireplace arrived in two days and we had it up and running in fairly short order. I will say the directions for assembly could be better. We fumbled our way thought the directions and did a couple of things backwards before figuring things out. But it's not rocket science and with a little patience it can be done by just about anyone with a little basic mechanical common sense. We LOVE this fireplace. It puts out a nice amount of heat and the blower fan is super quiet. We do hear a kind of funny soft "chirp" from it periodically when it runs, but that might disappear with more use. (We've only used it a few weekends so far) Bang for our buck, this was probably one of the best decisions we've made since building our addition. I only wish we'd thought about adding an electric fireplace BEFORE we started construction as I would have definitely made plans to make this fireplace more the center of attraction instead of an afterthought. If you're thinking about adding an electric fireplace and don't want to go with a built-in version, this slim model is the bomb. You won't need a contractor to install it and your normal home amperage should handle it just fine. (Another huge perk!) Overall, this was a fantastic experience all-around.Aldo

Flames are very realistic, however since the room we put it in has a lot of windows, I would’ve appreciated the ability to make the flames even brighter. I also wish they included a faux log insert. I took the one from our old electric fireplace and added some lava rocks at either end which looks quite good. We just don’t prefer the modern look of white rocks or glass. I love how shallow the unit is and that the heat comes out the front. If they made my two modifications I would give it 10 stars. Still very happy with my purchase and would recommend. Being married to a builder I was skeptical about trying a “fake” fireplace but I wanted something for a room we plan to remodel in an small old house. We have it set in place to test it out while waiting on warm weather before beginning the remodeling project. I have to admit this was a nice surprise. The fireplace puts out plenty of heat, is fairly quiet and gives the room a nice glow in the evening. The “fake” fire looks amazing and it was nice that it came with the option of the log look, crystal glass for a modern look and off white rocks. We can already see that it will be easy to frame a small wall around it in the corner of the room. Haven’t yet actually used the fireplace but have plugged it in and checked out each special and basic functions. I purchased what was being called a refurbished unit but it took looking at it very very carefully before I noticed anything. Unit was mechanically tested according to the label affixed to the box. I was originally hesitant due to the lack of reviews. but this has been a great product. size is as expected. it is thick but that's also expected as the dimensions were displayed, but because of the size, it doesn't look too protrusive. colour is good, comes with 3 different types of internal decorations. mounting was simple, product is fairly light once the front glass panel is removed, I recommend working with a friend. the stand is pretty ugly, and I would just ditch that idea and mount the fireplace on the wall. it blows hot air upwards so it cannot be mounted into the wall, the heat exhaust is not at the front which gives it a clean look. The heating feature is really just an add-on, I don't really depended on this to heat the house. there are thinner models out there, but if you want a large, clean looking fireplace at a great price. go for this one. oh, delivery with best buy is pretty good too. and they also price adjusted for me when item went on sale. We just installed this in a feature wall in our basement. Because it’s rated as a commercial fireplace it’s very low profile and has an industrial look which is what we wanted. It was easy to install as we were building a pallet feature wall and installed it before the wall was completed. The only surprise we got is that this fireplace is not 60” wide as stated as it measures 65”. This was not a problem for us. It came with 3 or 4 fake logs but only one small bag of crystals. I did not use these items as I filled the bed with beach stones, sea glass and shells. There are so many colour options for the flames and fire bed which are controlled separately. The heat vent is the entire width at the top of the unit. We are very pleased with this purchase.Pallet project manager

Overall my family and I enjoy this electric fireplace. I think it’s a nice electric fireplace for the price point. We really wanted a mesh screen and this is half the cost of the other mesh screen fireplace. There’s a couple cosmetic blemishes that you can see close up, but from far away it looks great. We have a large living room/dining area and the heater warms it up quickly. Lately there’s been a ticking noise coming from the backside of it. It doesn’t happen every time it’s on. I ended up just hanging it with 6 industrial screws. Throws okay heat and the remote works great. The buttons on the unit are a lil finicky but we always use the remote.Kevin

came broken and scuff and the "bottom view" is misleading its not the bottom its the top and there's wording on the center it that says do not cover and you can't take it off so thats an eye sore, also there's no panel covering it, its open because the heat blow from the interior top side, the photo they don't show you. so the rocks and the wood is exposed to dustBryan
