20 Best 7 Speed Cruiser Bike (Jan 2023 Update)

I was scouring Craigslist for a deal on a Schwinn Cruiser, but ended up purchasing an Urban Man cruiser via the Firmstrong website when I realized I could get something new, lighter and customized to my needs for a few dollars more. Went with the single speed in chrome with decals removed. The purchase process was easy and price was right. I love the way it looks and rides, and it's extremely comfortable. The assembly process was simple, even for me, and I'm not good at that stuff.Joe G.

Solid bike! Well packaged, few minor scratches on painted surfaces. Bike seems to be well made with good components (bearings, hub and crank. Bike looks great and is light for a beach cruiser. I should have bought this bike 5 years ago instead of the 2 others that I bought and ended up replacing due to poor components. I usually average about 30 miles a week as a cool down from work-outs. Previous cheap big box store bikes usually lost spokes and the brake hub had issues and never felt right. I think it will last me a while!David F.

I bought this bike clearly for looks. When it arrived it had the wrong size fender (made for a smaller wheel) so now I am riding around with only one fender, which looks ridiculous. I've called Hayneedle and am waiting for a response. Additionally the seat is surprisingly really uncomfortable. I couldn't ride for more than 20 minutes due to needing a break from the seat. I probably would not have purchased this bike if I had known prior to buying it.John

I purchased an Around the Block, 7-speed bike for my wife. I have to say that it was a great choice for her. I wasn't scared of the fact that you have to assemble the bike but was dreading the process. I have to say that the entire assembly procedure was easy. Much of the bike is preassembled. The accompanying assembly booklet is well organized and instructions are very clear on what to do and pointing out the pitfalls to watch out for with certain steps. But I found the online assembly video most helpful, being able to listen to and see the step as it was being done. Being able to stop the video and complete the step was very helpful. All in all, assembly was a piece of cake! Quality: first rate construction. Comfort: my wife loves the bike and how it feels. Color choices: very cool! It's very comfortable on long rides. The 7 speeds come in handy for hills. Shifting is a breeze, very smooth and quick. I would highly recommend this company for any of its products!bassoonorama

My new sixthreezero cruiser bike arrived sooner than expected which was a nice surprise. It came mostly assembled; the final assembly took less than an hour. The dark blue color I chose is gorgeous and like no other I’ve seen. The single speed cruiser style is exactly what I was hoping for in an easy to ride bike with no shifting necessary. It’s as cool to ride as it is cool to the eyes. It’s both a throwback to my childhood and a modern streamlined smooth ride for my future. It’s also a great workout bike when I want to tackle a street incline. It’s an all around street bike for the neighborhood, and it arrived in time to welcome the spring air.NJane

I bought my Around The Block men's bike in June 2020 as the pandemic quarantine lifestyle made clear that I needed a new form of exercise. I haven't ridden a bike for like almost 2 decades. This bike was EXACTLY what I needed. First, it was super light and easy to put together which was a major plus given that we had it delivered to our home. Also, the paint finish (I got Olive Oat) was just elegant and modern. I love the appearance. Most importantly, the ergonomic design really is a revolution in how I ride bikes (they have a nice video by the CEO about their design philosophy…this video really got me curious to try their bikes). To put it simply, I grew up riding bikes with my upper body and arms crouched low and forward. This bike designs it's pedal orientation and handle bars to force you to sit upright (head high) and your pedal motion to be forward of your torso. Honestly, it took a few rides to get comfortable in this position (my muscle memory tried to keep me arching forward which took some mental training to stop). Now that I am used to it, I can 100% attest that this bike design is the CORRECT riding position for leisure biking. My back feels like a million dollars riding this like this and, moreover, keeping your head up and your hands forward really catches the sunlight, scapes and breezes and it feels like the aesthetic pay off of riding in a top-down convertible! Overall the bike doesn't seem to be as well constructed as previous Schwinn bicycles I have owned. The front fender on this bike is bent and doesn't go on properly. I will have to try to twist it back into the proper alignment to be able to use it.lazloy

I mostly like the bike, especially the color. I found that the wheelbase was too short and really had to make some handlebar and seat adjustments. I am still getting used to the brakes. One thing I would caution is to make sure you read the vendors return policy. I was unhappy with a couple of things. The company, Bargains Delivered, suggested I could sell the bike or donate it. Honestly, all size information should be in their write up. Now I am stuck with it. I will not be purchasing from then again.Debbie

My husband bought this bike for me for Christmas. He put it together for me and it has rained or been very cold everyday since. I will say I wish I had read more about the size, being 5ft 1in the bike is a little big for me. But then again all bike have always been too big. I wish the seat lowered more than it does. I absolutely love this bike. I have always wanted a beach cruiser but women’s cruisers are generally not made for tall women. Enter ThreeSixZero and their genius inclusion of a “will this bike fit my body” calculator on their website. I entered my height and weight and it gave me a list of all the cruisers that would work for me. I was able to buy with confidence that I wouldn’t be smacking my knees on the handlebars. I chose the single speed because there is some assembly required and I didn’t want to deal with brake lines or complicated gears. The bike came very well packaged and was really easy to put together; I was riding my bike within an hour of opening the box! My husband was instantly jealous of my new ride and I ended up getting him his own cruiser (again using the calculator since he’s quite tall) for Valentine’s Day. Now we take rides together any chance we get, and often choose to ride our bikes to the store instead of wasting gas taking a car. I can’t recommend this company enough!RisW

I purchased the Around the Block Men's Bicycle. I had one issue when tightening the saddle so that it did not tilt downward when sitting on it. I tried to lock it down, but overtightened one side until the threads deteriorated and the nut popped off. This was my fault, and I should have tightened both sides evenly. I mention this because the customer service to replace the saddle was fantastic and I did not have any issues tightening as intended after receiving a new saddle, which was shipped promptly. But after getting the saddle secured, I had an issue tuning the braking mechanism on the rear tire. The rear tire itself was warped to where I had to choose between rubbing slightly on the brakes every revolution, or opening the brakes so much that it had no braking power. It took a lot of tuning, but I eventually found a brake setting with minimal rub and moderate braking power, and just relied on the front brakes after that. I have no doubt the customer service would have also responded to this issue, but after the saddle thing I kind of wanted to figure it out myself. Still, the rear wheel did come warped and I could have pursued getting a new one. Everything else was good and the frame and gear mechanism seemed like quality parts. Due to the warped tire, I would give 3/5 but the customer service is 5/5 so average review is 4/5.curtisbrian2

When covid and lockdown first started, I was looking for fun and effective ways to work out at home/socially distanced. A friend suggested getting a bike and I began researching different options and brands. I was (and still am) a total newbie but sixthreezero seemed like the right move based on reviews and price point. I bought this bike in peach two years ago (during the beginning of the pandemic). I love it! So, I decided to get it in my favorite color (PURPLE!) for my upcoming birthday. The front wheel was warped. Walmart had no immediate way to resolve the problem. So, I bought another of the same bike. Again, the front wheel was warped. I called the manufacturer and had to provide lots of proof, including a video. They are going to pay up to $25 for me to get the wheel fixed. This has been a major hassle!Trinity

I'm not exactly the steadiest person in the world (or the most graceful) so when I needed to look at options for having a bike as a way of transportation, I started to do my research. Now it took me a few weeks, I even borrowed a few, 4 different bikes from friends to try out. I finally knew which brand I wanted, Kent, but I didn't know exactly which style or color, so I walked into my local Walmart and started test driving them all! I rode quite a few bikes throughout the entire store. (sorry Walmart!) But as soon as I sat on the rose gold Bayside, i knew it was a perfect match!! I ride this bike everywhere! Thru everything! It runs so smooth and makes it so easy for me, that it's perfect for an old girl like me. Ive ridden it through the rain, I ride it in the scorching sun, uphill, downhill, even against the wind, and its still riding as smooth as the day I bought it! Promise, it's well worth the money that you spend on it and it's a fraction of the price at other places! Atleast once a day, someone compliments me on what a beautiful bike I have. I'm so happy I took the time and waited, and did the research, it has definitely paid off in the end.Michele

I do love this bike but I was not happy by the main part to the handle bars being striped to the point where I cannot ride it without the handlebars falling down. I did reach out to Kent where I got immediate assistance and my part to fix this issue will arrive in a couple days. It was also very difficult for me to put the bike together, you do not get any tools even though you need tools, and specific tools to put the bike together ( wrench, allen keys etc. ) and you will be dealing with brakes so I do recommend having a professional put your bike together but I will say inside the box I got a card from kent stating if you bring the bike to Walmart they will put it together for free- so don't buy the 65 dollar fee to put your bike together because ITS FREE! I do wish that the bike didn't take so long to be delivered but I realize that COVID has messed up the ease of buying a bike. I would estimate about 2-3 weeks it took to receive my bike from the date of order. Now on a good note- the seat is super comfy!! The bike itself rides smoothly and the color is beautiful. I will say that I thought this bike would be too tall for me being I am 5'1 and this height was recommended for 5'2 and up but on the lowest position and you are able to tilt the seat forward too, I was able to sit on the bike and hold myself up off the floor without falling. Cute bike with some nice features. Unfortunately some of the components are kinda cheap. We had to upgrade the rear derailleur. It never shifted right, constantly jumping gears without any input from rider. Took it to a bike shop and had it adjusted but that only helped for a little while. Replace the derailleur and the issue is fixed. I think it would benefit from a new set of gears as well. So be prepaird, I think we have spent about another $85 to get it "exceptable".ticks-partsnpieces

I live in a very humid, tropical environment where sulfur emissions from a prior lava eruption continue to pollute the air and cause everything metal to rust. After our 1960's Schwinn cruiser bicycles became rusted beyond repair, I searched online for new bikes. The sixthreezero bicycles looked really cool and the prices were fantastic. I did not expect the quality to be anywhere near as good as it is! It is extremely comfortable and a breeze to pedal also! The paint color is very retro and cool; people compliment the bike whenever I ride Amazingly, TWO years after I have purchased it, my bike has NO rust anywhere! This is practically unheard of in our location! We live 5 blocks from 3-month long active lava eruption that continues to emit sulfur into the air three years later! If I had to say something negative about the bike, I can't think of anything I would change about it! Their customer service team is top notch! Anytime I email them, they respond almost immediately! I would recommend this bicycle for men and women of all ages. I am 61yrs old and our teenage neighbor loves my bike as much as I do!Odie

I bought this bike to try to get in better shape. The reason I wanted an electric bike was because I wanted to push myself and then use the electric only to ride back if I pushed myself too far. Plus I needed a way to get back home to accommodate multiple musculoskeletal issues that I was afraid would leave me stranded and struggling to return on a manual bike. I haven't rid a bike in years so I was hesitant to spend this amount on a bike I hadn't test driven and I lacked confidence in my physical ability as I have multiple disabilities. First off this bike has changed my life. I started off riding a couple miles and being tired. After a few weeks I was up to 5 miles multiple times a week. I'm so excited to have a means of exercise that gets my heart rate up, doesn't exacerbate my disabilities, and is enjoyable. I have had my bike for 2 months now and last month I rode 70 miles and met the weekly recommend moderate activity for multiple weeks in a row. I have done 7, 8, 9 mile rides so far. I originally thought I wouldn't get my heart beat up much with an electric bike but to the contrary. My fitbit shows my rides and where my heart increases to fat burning and cardio. Now I have plans by the end of March to ride 6 miles to work and 6 miles back 2-3 times a week. I couldn't have even imagined this goal as a possibility 2 months ago and now this is realistic. This bike is comfortable and is a joy to ride. The seat is cushy and comfortable. The hand grips are comfortable. I have issues with my hands and was worried about pain but this hasn't been a problem and I'm quite comfortable with the grips and angle of the handlebars. This bike is sturdy and comfortable. The battery lasts a long time. I could probably ride 4 or 5 days 5-6 miles a day until I need to recharge. I usually recharge every 2-3 rides but that is because I'm the type of person who fills my gas tank up when it is 3/4th full. I see the battery go down two bars and I'm on it with a recharge. The cons: I had a squeaking sound and couldn't figure out what was causing it, but I didn't look. I assigned figuring it out to my boyfriend and he said he was going to try some WD40. I'm not sure if he used it or did something but the squeaking sound went away. My breaks squeal a little. I haven't walked through the steps they provided to do a break tune-up so it is probably user error. I think I'm going to assign this to my boyfriend too. The battery came loose a couple times cutting the power. I just noticed it was tougher to pedal and stopped the bike to push it back in. The final con was I really wanted the cream bike but after waiting for three months global supply issues meant I would likely have to wait another three months. So they gave me an option to wait or switch to a bike in stock which is how I ended up with the Navy bike. It is very nice looking and I'm pleased even though it wasn't my first pick. I highly recommend this bike. It was easy to assemble. I think it took me an hour because I carefully read and reread instructions to make sure I did it correctly. I love this bike. It is super comfy and gave me an outlet to be physical activity. I was really struggling with the prospect of never being able to do anything physical until I got this bike. So I'm serious when I say this bike changed my life by giving me back my life. Now I have cute little accessories on it. Love it and look forward to many rides to come.Jeni

After purchasing an electric bike from Six Three Zero for myself, and being pleased with what I got, I ordered a second one for my wife, a 250 w Around the Block. I am just as pleased with this one as I was the first. The assembly instructions were straight-forward, all the parts were there, and it went together easily with a minimum of adjustments. I experienced one problem, with the lock for the battery, but that was instantly dealt with and a new replacement arrived in a matter of days. My wife had not ridden a bike in a long time, but she is now enjoying joining me on our tours of the country roads that we are lucky enough to be near. A few years ago, though living in suburban America, I gave up a car for a bicycle (and occasional rideshares for business). A lifestyle-choice experiment that lasts to this day. All the while, the old-school, pre-owned 10-speed bicycle I owned was a nearly 20-year old already pre-owned purchase. Recently, it was time for me to let go of Ol' Faithful, and so I began a journey… At first I made the mistake of chasing after deals per well-known name brands… 1st bike purchase from a department store, a disappointment, so I returned it. 2nd bike, from another department store, such a let down with defects, also returned. At some point, I left behind my local department stores and various online department store searches… I took my goal more seriously! Then I discovered a few *authentic* bike shops with online stores… Early on, sixthreezero stood out above the rest for it's straightforward messaging and ease-of-use website. So, then I found a good value-for-price option for me to buy direct from their online store, the sixthreezero EVRYjourney Men's Casual Edition 26" 7-Speed Sport Hybrid Cruiser Bicycle, Matte Black. Once, I researched the online resources sixthreezero provides and the history and philosophy of the brand, I decided to also purchase their Forever Warranty. Considering that the shipping cost was free, the total purchase price was an amazing value. As a work-from-home veteran, I'm also a technophile and online-buyer/home-delivery enthusiast. So, I could have a lot to be critical about anything going wrong with the purchase process, the shipping and handling, and/or the product quality or support. Turns out that I have nothing but GREAT VIBES and GOOD THINGS TO SAY about this product! Despite the current 2020 economy downturn, the delivery of my new purchase was predictable and well-tracked and reported with updates along the way, and then complete within about one week as promised. Their bike-in-a-box complete solution leaving me to complete the assembly was as simple as I could imagine. You've just got to go the website and watch an unboxing/how-to assembly video for the model bicycle in which you're interested. You'll get it. For my own interest, I also downloaded and consulted the PDF complete assembly manual. As assembly proceeded, I was impressed and gratified with the feel of the quality and craftsmanship of the parts, materials, and frame of the bike. There were a few very minor discrepancies between the video walkthrough and the tools and parts that arrived in the box, but nothing that my brain couldn't sort out and realize that I for sure actually had absolutely everything as promised. (I think the version, model of my bicycle seemed like a new listing on the online store; so I allowed for these minor incongruities without thinking much of it.) After dealing with the lesser quality and mishaps of assembly with the previously store-bought bikes, I really came to appreciate the "legit bike shop with an online store" approach of sixthreezero. As well, after having dealt with the department store staff who would assemble the on-floor bikes, I came to realize that having the uber-experienced legit bicycle experts at sixthreezero assemble my bike to the out-of-the-box 80%-assembled extent really makes a difference! After putting in my own time to assemble the bike the rest of the way, I was actually grateful for the relatively minor amount of assembly required and the video companionship to walk me through it. (And, I am the sort to hire a handyman to do anything hands-on!) For the first time ever in my life, I have a sense of accomplishment and know-how and ownership of my bike like I've never had before. After owning an expensive 21-speed Schwinn, which gears locked up several times, i really wanted a simple 3-speed. The box was extremely damaged; staples were missing, the remaining two were hanging loose; large v-shape rip in cardboard, two holes punched through, including at the gear hub, which plastic protector was discolored (and had fallen off) from hard banging in transit. Bike, unlike Sixthreezero assembly vid, was even difficult to remove from box, given tight packing and contents banged around. Acquaintances advised me to return it. The simplicity of 3-speed, however, is the reason I kept pushing to get the bike functional. Assembly is not "easy", as per description. i could assemble quite a bit but centering the front wheel with adjusting the brake pads, brake handle and cable required a professional (with fee). He also tweaked several spokes; he was not impressed with the bike. It arrived July 5; Tuesday, July 19, finally got it ready to go. The shimano gear was very smooth at first, then a couple clackety-clacks; but, objectively, I might've switched gears too fast or they may be very sensitive. Given the state of shipping box and banging at the gear hub I'm concerned about gear longevity. We have a few more days to try it out before the deadline to return. The matte black finish shows all hand- and fingerprints. Front brakes still unevenly grab the rim. Seems like the value doesn't match the price. I paid $806.47 tax $9.99 shipping; then clicked on my still-open bicycle page and found it had refreshed to a price of $479.99 (40% reduction) and out of stock. Sheesh; what a frustrating experience.jgh

I'd rate my EvryJourney so far as about 6-7/10. It's extremely comfortable to ride and the pricing was great for a bike that sixthreezero's website claims can more than support my weight. The problem is that about a month after receiving the bike, it started making this horrible scraping/grinding sound. It starts after riding for a little while (0.5-1 mile) and becomes increasingly louder and more difficult to pedal. Since it continues even with the brake arms open, I think it's the rear wheel. Support told me to take it to a local bike shop and they'll reimburse me. Hopefully my local shop can fix it. Without that problem it would be an easy 10/10.djte

I purchased our SixThreeZero bike for my wife for cruising around our new suburban neighborhood with our two little girls. We put a kids seat on the back and it has been creating wonderful memories! My wife loves the smooth ride and feels very safe and secure while our 1.5 year old smiles ear-to-ear on the back. I was out of town on work when the bike arrived, so my wife assembled the bike herself and found it to be straight forward and intuitive. I shopped around for a beach cruiser/ crossover type bike for a while. Finally, based on look, quality and price, I chose sixthreezero’s Reach Your Destination. I was a bit nervous about bike assembly, as I’m not particularly handy, but the instructional video was clear and slow. And I managed to learn a lot about my bike while assembling. I did encounter a bit of an issue when I couldn’t install the tire- but a call to the help team resulted in a separate video about how to adjust the brake tension. Later, my bike clanked loudly as I rode it around. The help desk again suggested I take it to the bike shop on them. The bike shop guy could not hear the VERY loud clanking until I showed him my video. He tightened a few things and it seems to be running smoothly now. My fiancé and I decided to look into getting a pair of bicycles during this stay at home order. We live in Las Vegas and wanted a beach cruiser lol go figure…I read about the company’s vision regarding designing a bicycle that will fit your everyday lifestyle and personality, not to mention keeping it affordable! Up to now, I still can’t find any bad or negative feedback to give regarding SixThreeZero. The bicycles were packaged very good with paddings like how you would pack your valuables. The bicycle was 85% assembled and the instructions was very easy to follow on how to finish assembling. My fiancé got the Reach your Destination 28 inch Hybrid 7-speed Teal color. It’s definitely a head turner! Very comfortable & the gears are easy to adjust. I picked the Ride In The Park men’s 3-speed in grey. The only regret that I have is that I chose the 3-speed instead of the 7-speed. I do have one small thing I can suggest, you might have to bring your bicycle to a local bike shop to get the spokes adjusted on your bicycle wheel for balancing or you can search it on YouTube on how to do it yourself. I’m not sure if SixThreeZero does the adjustments for you before shipping the bicycle. I hope this review will help you ease your decision in getting your next bicycle with SixThreeZero. This is a great bike for someone who just wants to ride and casually take in the sights. Just wish the whole picking up the bike was as easy. First it arrived in the wrong color from what I ordered ( not the stores fault) but when I picked up the correct one my emails told me I could have help setting it up for me and adding anything I purchased onto it. I know they are swamped with the anniversary sale but no one told me all of those things or apologized that they were too busy. I know I am being nitpicking but to me this is a big purchase. My first Townie met with an unfortunate accident. I got it as a gift from my children last Christmas. I absolutely loved it and rode over 1,000 miles last year. So without question, I wanted the exact same bike. Due to Covid bikes are very hard to find, so I searched every site I could find. Only one shop had it but they didn't have the same color. I live in Michigan and had to order it from Mad Dog Cycles in Orem, Utah. It arrived today and I took it to our local dealer for assembly (tomorrow I'll be back on the trail). It only took 13 days from order to receipt and the box was in perfect condition when UPS delivered it. I am 70 years old and have always ridden a bike, but this one is the most comfortable bike I've ever had, hands down. I Love the higher handlebars, step thru style, and very cushy seat. It also has fenders which you will appreciate if you've ever ridden in the rain. And, front and rear lights powered by pedaling. If I ever need to replace it, it would definitely be with another Townie. I would strongly recommend this bike.By Cindy

I picked this as a 15 year gift option from my anniversary at my job. I love this bike so much- I went from casual rides in the neighborhood to now up to 41 miles of bike trails. It is comfortable, cutest bike I've ever seen on the trails, but reliable. I've been riding (addicted) for five years now, and never a problem like I used to have with other bikes, like flats, chains coming off etc. NEVER a problem. This bike has become something I simply love! I get compliments every time I'm out on this bike. How can one go on long distances with a cruiser? Simple. I made the mistake of buying this cruiser when my Mongoose Surge was still in upstate New York waiting for me to pack it up for shipment. Should have waited. I got the Mongoose in 1998 from Dicks and it was terrific. Made the mistake of lending it to my daughter's boyfriend who did not treat it kindly. He took it to Oswego SUNY and used it to get around. I was up there visiting and saw him ride up, jump off the bike and let the thing fall to the ground. What the heck it wasn't his. I am getting it serviced as I think it needs new hub bearings (or maybe just a cleaning and greasing. What a difference from the crappy Schwinn. And I used to love Schwinn though I had a Mercier and a Gary Fisher.guy

Had a cheap bike and it lasted just over a year on my daily 3.5 mile commute to work. This Townie is at a year old and it runs smooth and nimble. I stay on the sidewalks in the city and they can really beat a bike up. The Townie is very well built with quality parts. I'm looking forward to retiring next year and stepping up to the Townie 7 so I can go everywhere on my TownieMisterT

This bike has a new geometry wherein you sit further back and lower to the ground. This makes it easier to reach the ground with your feet, and means that you sit straighter up without putting weight on your hands and arms. It is more of a recumbent position and I have found it makes for a comfortable ride. The quality of the components (brakes, gears, bearings, seat) is impressively high and exceeds expectations and it seems easy to make adjustments as needed. My only complaint about the bike is that it is too easy to turn! I'd rather that it stayed more in a straight groove. I imagine this is part of the geometry and that if the front wheel position was moved forward this issue would disappear for me. Note: The handlebars are somewhat wide – it is comfortable in riding but just be aware if you are riding on a sidewalk there may be little clearance between say a fence and a light pole. All in all a great bike with helpful features and high quality all around.doug

Received my Bike packaged just fine. No issues with shipping. Installation is easy, simple and straightforward. I only test drove the bike after installation however, I love the ride and comfort from body position. I’m 42 years old with lower back pain, knee pain, and a wrist injury that would make my hand fall asleep regardless of what bike I rode (Retired Army 20yrs). After reading reviews I decided to pull the trigger and purchase an Electra Cruiser. I’m excited to get back to a hobby I truly enjoy. Thanks REI for always providing an outstanding transaction.RayRay
