You would assume that an "Intex branded" pool vacuum would fit an Intex above ground pool, but somewhere along the line Intex changed the fitting threads on the pool return fitting and they are NOT compatible. I had to return it as it was useless. Intex should have kept everything the same instead of changing only one side's threading without changing the fitting on the pool. Terrible business decision on Intex's part. If you bought an Intex pool after Jan 2021, this vacuum will NOT fit guaranteed. If the pool was purchased pre '21 you are just rolling the dice. INTEX should either sell the appropriate fitting for the pool individually, change the fitting back to the original on the vacuum, or recall all of these vacuums. I read several reviews before purchasing but foolishly assumed Intex would have fixed the problem in 2021.Anthony C.
This thing will zip across your pool for about ten minutes but never once did it pick up even the slightest bit of dibris from the pool. Not a leaf, not a bug, not a bit of anything. We bought this a few days ago because my pool was in need of a major cleaning!! I'm not sure why the other persons review was so bad, but it works great for me! I have to leave a review because theirs almost discouraged me from getting one!! This took some time to figure out how to get it to work best (adjusting the float for tubing and getting it hooked up just right). Once I had it right it went to work around the pool. I had to help it along once, but otherwise it covered the pool pretty well. The pool was pretty clean: just a little sand remaining in the bottom. I used it on a 13' above ground pool, so this may have been overkill for the small size of our pool, but it's a pretty cool gadget anyway. Yes, it absolutely cleans the bottom of our 15 x 35 oval above ground pool but it misses a lot of places and needs to be directed one way of another to get the entire bottom. Also, if you have stairs that are at all at an angle it will get stuck behind them over and over again. I solved the stair problem by placing a 5 gallon bucket with a couple large rocks to hold it in place under the stairs. The bucket stops the vacuum from going under the stairs. They sell a larger pool guard for around $35 but this thing is already expensive enough. I would hope they's consider just including the larger pool guard instead of the small one. I think I would try another brand with a larger stair guard before buying this one again.Poppa
Let start saying I am optimistic about anything that would make my life easier. I really want to love this cleaner because I spent months to convince my husband we need one very bad, because it will be cold soon here in north Florida and we will not winterize the pool because my Labrador needs to exercise and she loves to swim. That said, the rest was a fiasco, the thing stay put in the same place not moving, there was parts missing (one of the hoses) and the basket for catching the leaves need to be removed for this thing to work, what makes job very hard when you need to remove the leaves from the pump itself instead the pre-basket. My husband try to move it to another location and it get stuck in the ladder. Move again, same spot, no moving. I told him maybe he did not give time enough to let the cleaner do his thing, but no, does not matter how long you will leave the thing running, it will not get the job done. We have a 24 feet above ground metal wall and it is time consuming to clean it, but my husband get the job done way faster because this thing get nothing done. This item received mixed reviews, but there were more good than bad, so I decided to take a chance. Bad decision. I have a 33' above ground pool. I knew that this only came with 30' of hose, but I figured I would try it out, and if it worked I would buy the extra hose. I received it today, put it together as the pictures showed (I hate instructions with pictures and almost no text), and got it working in the pool. I stood there and watched as it puttered along, in a 20' circle, over, and over, and over again. I tried adjusting the FlowKeeper Valve on all 3 settings, with the same results. I had both of my water jets directed down to the pool floor, as directed, and it kept going in a 20' circle, over, and over, and over again. It won't even deviate to clean any part of the inside of the circle, just the circumference. With taxes I paid just over $157 for this vacuum to be able to automatically clean just under 63 linear feet. That works out to be about $2.50/ft, over, and over, and over again. You can take your chances if you like, but I wouldn't recommend it.I added one star to my original review because I was able to return it for a refund with no problems. After reading other reviews I got the impression that this was not returnable, but that is not the case.Brian

good concept but awful design. the hose comes in sections that you push together according to your pool size and they arent airtight connections. a good pump will suck air in the connections that are floating on top of the pool. very stupid design. when a pump sucks air in a “leak” it loses suction and power. and it takes this thing forever to go all around your pool and even then there are missed spots. manual vaccuuming is far faster and more effective. and this is one more gadget just lying on the ground when not in use. i would give it a better score if the company actually put some thought into hose connections. NO pool hose connections just snap together; they all thread and/or clamp. im returning this and buying something useful.David
I had an earlier version of the Aquadroid. I have used it for probably more than 10 years (I forget). Before that, I used a SIMILAR product for a similar amount of time. That oldest one used a slightly different pattern than the Aquadroid that I am replacing and was more effective at covering 90% of my pool in a shorter amount of time. Parts are available to renew/repair the Droid. I have replaced worn feet a couple of times. There now seemed to be enough of the parts that were worn on my old Droid, and the part costs were high enough that I decided to just replace it. I have not tried this new Aquadroid. It looks almost identical to the one that I just wore out. Maybe the path programming is more effective, like my first robot? First time I used this little critter I was getting frustrated. You really need to learn how to use this. First there was a partial blockage in the suction throat which I thought was a part of the unit. It was a perfect fit of a plastic piece of something or another. Then it worked better. Second use, was getting stuck against the wall. When placing in the pool I didn't make sure rollers were in proper position. Made rollers adjustment it worked fine. Third time was a charm. This product really does clean debris from the bottom of the pool. If it worked as well the first time out of the box or even the second time I would have rated 5 stars.Pool

The Intex 28620EP is perfect for removing small particles from the floor of our outdoor spa. Since it has NiMH batteries instead of Lithium, it is priced lower and it has enough suction to pick up the debris in its path. It comes with a regular filter and two sock-like bags for capturing very fine particles. It also comes with an extendable pole which lets me reach everywhere in the spa, and it comes with two head attachments for moving around different terrain and angles. It does not come with a charging source, just a USB type cable to connect to a phone or other charging block. Charging takes 6 – 8 hours, and run time is reportedly only about 20 minutes, but that's long enough: I've used it 3 times so far but I'm done in about 10 minutes so it's never run out of power too soon. You do need to move it slowly so as not to stir up the debris, and the power comes on only when it has been submerged and the power switch is on. It is very quiet so you have to watch it work rather than hear it. After years of having difficulty getting the floor of our spa clean, this little unit has made me wish I found it a long time ago.cyberclg
I was worried about this having NiMh batteries instead of LiOn batteries, but I have been using this to clean my Spa for over a month and have not had to recharge yet. I did fully charge it overnight before the first use. I was also worried about the suction power, because I saw several bad reviews about it. It has great suction power, at least when I leave attachments off (I haven't tried them because I want a small focus point for small areas). It pics up all the small particles in all the corners as well as larger leaves. It turns on only when submerged to protect the pump. It is very easy to clean. The telescoping handle makes it easy to reach everywhere in my spa. Love it! I made sure to directly take it out to use after charging it when the light was green showing it’s ready to suck. Pun intended. I have a 10×20’ intex pool and it took about a half hour or so to cover it completely but picked up the dirt and debris. I have my pool away from trees with leaves so haven’t had to deal with big leaves. But round one of cleaning went great! Glad I didn’t get a robotic one bc this isn’t bad at all!Update. Make sure when you are going for removing algae to put the white sleeve over the black one. You insert the white sleeve into the black one first and make sure the thicker part of the rim of the white one extends completely below where the black ones rubber rim ends otherwise it doesn’t make a good deal when you place them together into the end of the vacuum. I've been buying and using rechargeable above ground pool vacuums for the past 5 years. I bought the Dolphin E10 about a month ago and realized I should have bought it sooner. I didn't want to spend the money but it's well worth it. It's absolutely wonderful! I pride myself on keeping my pool clean but since using the Dolphin E10, my pool has been absolutely crystal clean. A few things to improve on for Hayward.. 1. Despite trying all adjustments unit does tend to dwell in corners for reasonably long periods (eventually moves itself however) 2. Pool coverage is average, appears to track a similar pattern often despite so called programmed ability so this does not happen? 3. I would recommend including a hose/unit weight as an addition. Previous units I have had include a weight fitted to the closest hose to the vac – assists in keeping it grounded. * Be helpful I feel as the unit does do a bit of side tipping in the beveled corners, and not sticking to floor surface here and there (Tried all three flap adjustments – no different) 4. Should include a hose adaptor or two in differing sizes as the supplied hose would not connect directly to my skimmer plate hole, nor does the regulator valve supplied fit it either. (Too small for hole, perhaps as its made for America not Australia?) 5. Finally, I have a fiberglass pool with rounded floor to wall corners as pictured in the manual.. sorry guys it won't climb at all on any setting.. Fortunately I do not require this function. This is a easy way to clean the bottom of pool It works well. You do need to close off the other inlet as that pug is not part of kit. I used a plastic bag and rubber band to hold the bag on inlet head. Once that was put on the vacuum did it's job, note when cleaning the screen on filter take poll off first I dumped water all over me on my first try. I was not expecting this little thing to work at all. But the for the price I thought it was worth a try. I am blown away by how well it works. I have a 16 by 10 above ground pool with a larger sand filter. I get quite a bit of leaves from the trees overhead. This little vacuum will actually clean the whole thing up in about 30 to 45 minutes. The only tricky part is getting the air out of the line and there are sections in the hose that collapse due to my larger water filter. So I simply dropped down a couple of small PVC pieces down to where the sections tend to collapse. If this thing breaks I will definitely buy another one.davidwdewitt

When I can position the plate adapter over the filter port, the hose it came with is so flimsy it gets sucked flat by the power of the filter. So I will also need to buy a new hose. The head does not glide smoothly over the bottom of the pool. Basically useless to me. I used it once, with no suction, just to "brush" the pool bottom. Total waste.sotto1eb
I paid $40 for this item and wasn't expecting alot, but after figuring out how to keep the air out of tubes and to plug up one of my two suction valves it worked decently. I have a 16' x 8' Intex with one of the cheapy pumps. I also have hard water and was getting alot of white chalky calcium deposits all over bottom of pool. It was able to suck it all up, but took some work having to slowly go over it several times. Don't expect the suction of a wet vac, but more a hand held vacuum. Good luck.Mavsrule

This would likely be an average or below average product; however, I don't know, because it was never made clear in the description (ANYWHERE) that I needed a pump to use this product. It was obvious that previous people had made the same mistake, because the box had clearly been opened and reopened what looked like many times (meaning it had been returned many times), such that the items really would not longer fit properly back in the box without an act of God and alot of tape.Colin

For a little vacuum it does great so far. Still waiting on the pole to come in, but it will be here soon To make a long story short, a good amount of sand was spilt in our above ground pool. Last night we tried it out without the pole. It was sucking up the sand. the bag is little, so a lot of cleaning out the bag took place. sometimes we did not get a good suction, but redid the bag and would work. I think the batteries took about 4 hours to charge. To be honest we did not use it long enough to see how long the batteries will last. We will know once the pole comes in. I have read some reviews on the pole, but if it comes down to it; we will go to hardware store and get something that will work with it.Kim
This is my second Catfish; the first one bit the dust after 6 hard years of service. The new one is much improved, especially in regards to the waterproofing of the inside unit.Regretfully, the new unit would not turn on after repeated tries to charge. Got a MRA (return authorization) on the seller website and shipped it UPS. I bought this vacuum three years ago, after we purchased a 15 foot pool. My filter, which is super cute but nothing like the one I had growing up, was not compatible with a vacuum, so this was my only option. I read the reviews, the suggestions on making it last, and I am now on year 3 of using it. I make sure to never overcharge it, I clean it with the hose immediately after use, I store it in the house, and that's about all I have done to "make it last." It works incredibly well and I have never run out of power-even after using it several times on my hot tub, for its bi-annual deep clean, having it sit a day, and then vacuuming the pool for 20 minutes (whose bright idea was it to put the pool under the trees for shade?!). It picks up everything from leaves to "helicopters" to tiny bugs to clumps of God knows what (did I mention the tree situation?). It has been well worth the money and I love that I don't have a huge hose following me around or the need to backwash after vacuuming. I won't even let my teens use it because I find it so relaxing and satisfying-though I do tell them I'm taking one for the team and not giving it to them as a chore 🙂 If The vacuum broke tomorrow, I would feel I got more than my money's worth. I bought this to replace the old version of the Intex vacuum. I especially liked the fact that it climbed the walls and didn't have the sectioned hoses the sprayed water everywhere like the old one.This has a larger compartment to store debris and is easier to remove and install. The handle also helps make it easier to maneuver. It scoots along the bottom and moves right up the side. Slick.Unfortunately, it gets stuck quite a bit. We have a large stairs that it always seems to hang on. It tries to climb them and just stops. It's annoying enough that I'm looking at getting the old version again. Bought this for a 33' round pool hoping to save a buck and cleaning time. First, if you do not have an Intex pool, you need to get some crazy fittings in order to adapt this properly to a standard inlet. All they had to do here was create a single part that adapts standard inlet threads to the Intex inlet. Had more than enough flow to make this work with a 2hp pump. Mostly, the device would crawl up a side and just hang out near the surface. It has brushes that rotate with the wheel assembly, but they rotate the same speed and direction as the wheels so don't actually brush anything. Once, when I got the device to appear as if it was working, going forward and backward in a random pattern, I let it run for about an hour when the pool was quite dirty then pulled it out to check the debris collection. There was less than a gram of particulate collected. Cleaned it up, repackaged it, and returned.T. H.

Keep it clean and the pool clear of items. It will do it’s job. It scooped up a small earring, leaves, and algae. Stops occasionally at the top of water line to use the soft brushes to clean the scum line. It’s completely nonexistent. Can’t say enough good things. It attaches easy and quickly. Starts clearing the debris and it’s quiet. The ease of cleaning the insides add to this high rating. Simple with only two locks versus the four on the others. We tried many times on an automatic pool vacuum. This puts others to shame. Quality, cost competitive, and WORTH IT! Recommend highly. The green is the fault is a new sand filter we haven’t mastered.
