I bought this bike in peach two years ago (during the beginning of the pandemic). I love it! So, I decided to get it in my favorite color (PURPLE!) for my upcoming birthday. The front wheel was warped. Walmart had no immediate way to resolve the problem. So, I bought another of the same bike. Again, the front wheel was warped. I called the manufacturer and had to provide lots of proof, including a video. They are going to pay up to $25 for me to get the wheel fixed. This has been a major hassle!Trinity
I'm not exactly the steadiest person in the world (or the most graceful) so when I needed to look at options for having a bike as a way of transportation, I started to do my research. Now it took me a few weeks, I even borrowed a few, 4 different bikes from friends to try out. I finally knew which brand I wanted, Kent, but I didn't know exactly which style or color, so I walked into my local Walmart and started test driving them all! I rode quite a few bikes throughout the entire store. (sorry Walmart!) But as soon as I sat on the rose gold Bayside, i knew it was a perfect match!! I ride this bike everywhere! Thru everything! It runs so smooth and makes it so easy for me, that it's perfect for an old girl like me. Ive ridden it through the rain, I ride it in the scorching sun, uphill, downhill, even against the wind, and its still riding as smooth as the day I bought it! Promise, it's well worth the money that you spend on it and it's a fraction of the price at other places! Atleast once a day, someone compliments me on what a beautiful bike I have. I do love this bike but I was not happy by the main part to the handle bars being striped to the point where I cannot ride it without the handlebars falling down. I did reach out to Kent where I got immediate assistance and my part to fix this issue will arrive in a couple days. It was also very difficult for me to put the bike together, you do not get any tools even though you need tools, and specific tools to put the bike together ( wrench, allen keys etc. ) and you will be dealing with brakes so I do recommend having a professional put your bike together but I will say inside the box I got a card from kent stating if you bring the bike to Walmart they will put it together for free- so don't buy the 65 dollar fee to put your bike together because ITS FREE! I do wish that the bike didn't take so long to be delivered but I realize that COVID has messed up the ease of buying a bike. I would estimate about 2-3 weeks it took to receive my bike from the date of order. Now on a good note- the seat is super comfy!! The bike itself rides smoothly and the color is beautiful. I will say that I thought this bike would be too tall for me being I am 5'1 and this height was recommended for 5'2 and up but on the lowest position and you are able to tilt the seat forward too, I was able to sit on the bike and hold myself up off the floor without falling. Great looking bike. Easy to assemble. Instruction manual in the box did not apply to the bike in question, however once we came to this realization, the rest was easy enough to figure out. Seat height is very easy to adjust (nice feature). Stand included. Hand breaks are a little difficult to reach for our seven year old, however it may just take some practice. Bike pre-set was in 6th gear, so make sure to change before having your child ride for the first time (otherwise difficult to start pedaling). Bike does not have predrilled holes to accommodate a water bottle holder (a bit disappointed in this, but perhaps this is standard for a 20"). Overall very happy.First time purchaser

I purchased an Around the Block, 7-speed bike for my wife. I have to say that it was a great choice for her. I wasn't scared of the fact that you have to assemble the bike but was dreading the process. I have to say that the entire assembly procedure was easy. Much of the bike is preassembled. The accompanying assembly booklet is well organized and instructions are very clear on what to do and pointing out the pitfalls to watch out for with certain steps. But I found the online assembly video most helpful, being able to listen to and see the step as it was being done. Being able to stop the video and complete the step was very helpful. All in all, assembly was a piece of cake! Quality: first rate construction. Comfort: my wife loves the bike and how it feels. Color choices: very cool! It's very comfortable on long rides. I bought my Around The Block men's bike in June 2020 as the pandemic quarantine lifestyle made clear that I needed a new form of exercise. I haven't ridden a bike for like almost 2 decades. This bike was EXACTLY what I needed. First, it was super light and easy to put together which was a major plus given that we had it delivered to our home. Also, the paint finish (I got Olive Oat) was just elegant and modern. I love the appearance. Most importantly, the ergonomic design really is a revolution in how I ride bikes (they have a nice video by the CEO about their design philosophy…this video really got me curious to try their bikes). To put it simply, I grew up riding bikes with my upper body and arms crouched low and forward. This bike designs it's pedal orientation and handle bars to force you to sit upright (head high) and your pedal motion to be forward of your torso. Honestly, it took a few rides to get comfortable in this position (my muscle memory tried to keep me arching forward which took some mental training to stop). Now that I am used to it, I can 100% attest that this bike design is the CORRECT riding position for leisure biking. My back feels like a million dollars riding this like this and, moreover, keeping your head up and your hands forward really catches the sunlight, scapes and breezes and it feels like the aesthetic pay off of riding in a top-down convertible! Got it largely assembled. No issues until I pedaled the bike and the chain immediately came off. Found the real wheel was sent mounted crooked. When loosening the nuts to adjust the wheel, I found they must have been tightened by He-Man, must have been on at least 100ft/lbs. When straightening the wheel didn’t correct the issue I kept looking and lo and behold the frame is bent. Uploaded a pic showing the front wheel in line with the down tube, and a pole in line with the down tube in one, and with the wheel in the other to show how far off it is. The cutest bike that ever was. The olive green color is awesome. It's great for quick rides around town and I love the step through design (skirts and heels to dinner are doable!). My boyfriend assembled the bike for me and said it was fairly easy to put together. The metal chain cover arrived bent causing the chain to catch on it. We had to bend and pound the metal piece to fit. Overall the bike is best in my opinion for flat commutes. If I lived somewhere with more hills I'd be bummed because first gear is sometimes not low enough for steeper roads (which compared to other places I've lived are still pretty mellow considering) and I'm not sure the 8 speed would fix that issue. I'm also 5'5" and find the handle bars a tad too far away from the seat, by about an inch. My body position is in this awkward not-leaning-forward-not-sitting upright position, which gets a bit annoying after awhile. A very solid bike for the price point. Is it trying to do anything fancy? No, but it is a great option for someone looking to get from A to B without breaking the bank. When I was researching this as a gift for my girlfriend, I noticed a few complaints about the weight and the build quality. To those points, I would say the following: Weight: overall, the bike is not super light, so it can be a little unwieldy when trying to load it into a vehicle. That said, it is not too heavy, and rides fairly smoothly. The bigger factor is how the weight is distributed across the bike (center of gravity, in essence). Most of the weight feels like it sits between the rider and the rear wheel, with the front feeling very light in comparison. This is not an issue in any way, but it does create a bit of a learning curve for cornering, as well as for stopping on down-slopes. Just be aware that it will take some getting used to. Build quality: lined up with what I would expect for the price point. The frame and primary components seem solid, and while some of the smaller nuts and bolts for things like the fenders are a little on the soft side, they didn't present any issue for me on install. As a side note, I did the initial assembly of the bike upon receipt just to make sure nothing was missing or obviously damaged, but I took it to a shop for final alignment, tightening, and tuning setup. There were no issues to be found, and it was pretty intuitive to assemble, to the point where I almost didn't need the instructions. What I will say is that the brakes needed significant adjustment out of the box, which is part of the reason I entrusted the initial setup to professionals. My GF and I have ridden the bike several times now on variable length trips (1 mile – 20 miles), and the bike performed reasonably well for all use cases. The seat did get a touch uncomfortable toward the end of the 20 mile trip, but not to the point of being unbearable (I should also mention that this is coming from the stance of someone who is not used to sitting on bike seats for any length of time). It rides and shifts well through the midrange gears, but gets a bit noisy in the lowest gear, and the highest gear is feels like it really only wants to be used when going down a pretty steep hill to try to build speed. The weight in the tail is also very noticeable when climbing steep grades, encouraging the rider to lean forward more than usual, but not to an uncomfortable degree. Overall, this is a very usable and well priced bike. It isn't perfect, but it exceeded my expectations. I have not had it long enough to comment on long term reliability/ serviceability. P.S. I would strongly consider upgrading the brakes if planning to use this bike in hilly environments or as a daily rider, just for a bit of extra stopping power and response. Firstly, the parcel was sent in the thinnest, least-protective box imaginable. I've gotten Amazon boxes of cotton balls more fortified. It was also shipped via FedEx Home Delivery, which means it was subject to a contractor's whims and handled roughly. It not only came late, but the box had several large holes and I'm pretty sure some of the hardware fell out in the process because it was missing two bolts. The derailleur hanger was bent upon receipt as a result of banging around for days and days in transit. Now I have to spend additional money and time having it repaired. They quoted us $100. Retrospec did refund just under that, so they did make it right in that regard, but it's now been two weeks and I haven't gotten to ride my bicycle once. I can't review the actual bike yet, but I wanted to call out the shoddy box and the choice to use FedEx instead of UPS, which is consistently better for packages like this. Just a bit of extra padding, especially for models with a delicate derailleur, and I would have been singing its praises and having fun on my vacation instead of feeling sad every time I see someone else enjoying a bike. Upon pick up the tires were flat and nobody could inflate the tires. I had to buy an air pump there because the store was out of bike locks and I had to bike to another store. I do not recommend store pick up at Target for a bike, it was a huge mess. The bike is too small and I'm 5'4 so I was looking for a small adult bike. It's small enough it literally feels like a kid's bike, I even questioned if the tires were 24 and not 26. The bike is poorly designed and feels really really cheap in quality. Any time I pushed a little harder than normal it squished into the ground like it couldn't take even a slight increase in pressure. The handlebars were the worst part. I don't know what part was designed idiotically and what part was assembled wrong. The brakes were ON TOP of the handlebars, making it almost impossible to brake without falling off. The handlebars felt backwards but when I tried adjusting or turning them around, nothing seemed right. They were weirdly crooked and felt wrong. And they started to fall apart after only a day of use. On top of it being too small, the seat lever was too weak, so the seat wouldn't stay up high enough after I raised it, and kept turning direction when I was on the bike. Lastly, the back brake didn't work at all it was so weak upon arrival. The front brake was somewhat weak but useable. I'm astounded anyone would be stupid enough to sell a bike without a working back brake, what a joke.Terrible Design
I purchased this bike on sale, which I thought was a great deal. It was not assembled and after two weeks of trying to put it together, it still wasn’t working. I took it to a bike shop and found out the front cables did not work and I had to have them replaced. Repairs ended up costing more than the bike. The bike was not assembled well. I spent a few hours fixing the assembly issues only to find the rear tire was over-inflated and contorted the rear tire completely. The store is out of bikes. I’ve been using mine almost every day for almost 2 months… the major pro is definitely how cute it looks. The color, the curved shapes, the brown saddle that complements the turquoise perfectly while being also extremely comfy. However, the lack of speeds makes it a not-so-fun ride if you’re biking against the wind and pedalling downhill is a useless endeavour because… again… this bike only has one spee … it’s also really heavy. BUT. IT’S SO CUTE. Urgh.

I had this bike assembled by Academy, and luckily I know how to maintain a bike. The brake pads were installed upside down. The headset was cranked to the point that you couldn't move the front fork. The fenders were installed in the wrong guide holes. The tires were not inflated. All this was easily fixed but unnecessary for a "fully assembled" bike. The only issue I had was that the tire size is not as advertised. They are not 24 inches x 1.95 inches. The tire is a 24×1.75.CorpsmanUp
This was the only bike my wife was comfortable on, bought in store so it was assembled. Freewheel sounds horrible, wheel bearings were over tightened, grease was gritty, brakes and shifter weren't adjusted properly, a fender bolt fell out on the drive home. Chain side rear wheel bearings can't be serviced without removing freewheel. It's a decent bike, but I feel "free professional assembly" shouldn't need the buyer to go through the entire bike for it to ride right.bobb
The read fender on the bike came dented, the front brakes don't work because they came in broken, and the handlebars cannot be adjusted because the handlebar clamp was tightened so hard that it is impossible to loosen with regular tools. I have inquired about receiving help in assembly but have had no responses. It is a pretty bike and I would love to give it a stellar review, however seeing that it is marketed as a comfort bike and that the handlebar is fixed to an uncomfortable position, I cannot recommend this product.kath_dlf

After reading a ton of reviews, mostly positive but some negatives, I ordered the sage colored Nel Lusso 26" Men's Cruiser from Walmart.com. It took only a few days to have it delivered by FedEx to my home in Florida. I was honestly expecting there to be some damage such as marred paint, dented fenders or missing parts. My bike came with all the parts and there was no damage! Well, there was one slightly bent spoke but I straightened it with my fingers no problem. Assembled the bike in my garage in a couple of hours. Fitted the handlebars and seat to my liking, flexed the rear fender a bit to center evenly over the tire and I was all set to take it for a spin. I'm in my late 60's and I haven't ridden a bike in over 20 years but like they say, once you learn you've got it. The breeze blowing past me felt great in the early evening, pedaling slowly and gently like a good cruiser was designed for. Really smooth pedaling and comfy ride. Pretty good seat, good springs and cushion for my boney rear end, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to replace it with a much wider and cushier seat that hopefully I'll find at a local bike shop. Honestly, I checked every aspect of this bike when I removed it from the shipping box, and I really did not see any flaws except for that one bent spoke. There is slight wavering with both wheels as they rotate but not noticeable when riding. I think that could be dealt with by adjusting tension on a few spokes. There are internet videos that show how to correctly do this yourself if you want to, or any bike shop will do it for you for a small fee. The coaster brake: as many reviews noted the brake on this and other Huffy bikes are, shall we say, weak. It will stop the bike but don't expect the brake to lock up like our old bikes did way back when we tried to see who could leave the longest skidmark. Give yourself a little distance when braking and you'll roll do a safe stop. I suggest taking the bike to a local bike shop to have a different brake installed in the rear hub, or just have them install a new wheel with a more efficient brake mechanism already in it. That may run $35-$40, not sure. Even after replacing the brake and maybe the seat, I will have a really nice, comfortable and safe bicycle – and it's a really good looking bike too. Proud to own it! I bought the bike when it was on sale I read the low reviews on it and was a little worried, but went for it anyway. Delivery was sooner than we thought (a few days earlier). When I recieved it the box was a little tattered but we pulled the bike out and assembled it (first time, doing that..but we did it in about 2-3 hours). It did come with everything(parts and no damages noted) shown and instructions. Tires were a little low on air, so Id suggest you have an air pump ready and this bike has a schrader valve. Also becareful with fenders they are sensitive and bend easily. Wasnt keen on color, but that doesnt matter really it does look like the picture. Overall, bike is sturdy and works well. Do not buy this bike unless you like to gamble. You got a 50% chance of getting a quality product. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. We bought this bike for our 17 year old son to ride around our subdivision on. Nothing crazy…just cruising around. He is not overweight, nor was rough on it in anyway. We bought it at the end of April, and it has been nothing but a nightmare ever since. The inner tubes kept getting holes in them for no apparent reason. We patched them each time. Finally the whole tire blew out. We’ve had it less than 6 months surely huffy will stand behind their product and send us new tires…right? I mean if you sale an inferior product, any good company will stand behind their product. Nope, given some short response via email that basically said…sorry…tires aren’t covered. I bought this for my daughter (Christmas 2021). At first, she loved it. However, last night on our ride I noticed a clicking noise when she peddled. Later in the night, I found the noise coming from the hub so I took it apart and found almost no grease in the hub. So I cleaned it, greased it, and reassembled. Its a little better but still a little noisy. I am concerned there is permanent damage and the cost of a hub will be greater than the entire bike. Purchased bike, got it delivered pretty quickly, but unfortunately it arrived damaged. When we received the bike we put it together right away. You put the tired, handlebars, pedals, seat, and mud guards on. All prenty much a simple assembly. Once assembled, we realized it was very difficult it was hard to turn the handlebars. I loosened the stem a bit, but it made no difference. Having a local bike shop nearby I took it over to ask what could be wrong. They took the rake and head apart and showed me how bent the rake (upper portion of the front forks) were. This part comes assembled from the manufacturer and I was told ot looked like it wasn't aligned correctly or forced in to the frame incorrectly. Regardless, it isn't something you could adjust, so we ended up having to return the bike to the store. We were hoping to find one at the store, but the two they had on display were a little bit scratched or bent at the mud guard portion…we are back to step one. Bike looks good, was comfortable, and put together easily…unfortunately it came damaged. You can see the slight bend in the part on the picture and how scratched up it was from it being installed incorrectly.Armando
I stopped purchasing Huffy product for 2 decades. I hoped over time that the quality would change. Things ate still the same. Purchased thus Cranbrook for one of my kids, and after 6 months of use, the rear bearing got really loud, right before malfunction. After a quick Google search, I found many have had this same problem with theirs, and or the bearing started making really loud noises just like ours did yet they were still able to use it. I have ours apart at the moment, and may just scrap the whole bike as I no longer have my receipt. Honestly, fixing it will likely yield the same issue, and I am disheartened that Huffy is still not up to par with simplicity of mechanical technicalities.
