Picture quality is adequate for a budget TV. Speakers less so, but they get the minimum job done. The big disappointments are the lack of Chromecast features and the remote. With a standalone Chromecast, one can tie into a Google account to display custom photos for the screensaver. Not so here. A standalone Chromecast also abides by the volume level set by the TV. Again not so here. Chromecasted video ends up at 100% volume level, leaving one scrambling for the down volume control. I guess one could use the mute button on the remote… if it existed. It does not. The remote also does not have dedicated play/pause/reverse/forward/stop buttons, which results in some confusion between apps. There is a button that pops up a dialog with those controls, but that's inconvenient. Back to the screensaver, it causes confusion in that recovering from it can be problematic. Paused a video on Amazon Prime? Great, screensaver has your back. Okay, now start your video again… oh. You pressed "OK" on the remote and now you've exited playback? Oh, now you have to navigate back to your video and use resume? Yeah, word to the wise: disable the screensaver. I bought this TV based on Android support, budget, and Cheomecast, so I'll be keeping it, but there are enough small nits that I'd not recommend this set to anyone.Trav
Bought a refurbished TV and I knew better than to buy one but couldn't afford a new one. Received my order a week early. No manual in box with TV. Had to go online to make sure I hooked it up properly. Got it all hooked up and got nothing but a black picture. Tried everything and still no picture, not even sound. TV refused to even find any channels. After all that TV ended up in the dumpster. This tv was purchased for our home gym. With that in mind we knew that we would not need to the picture quality that our movie watching tv delivers. We believe that this tv would be great in a small childs room as well. The user interface is simple enough that anyone could use it. If you are expecting more than 1080p look elsewhere. We also paired it with a less expensive sound bar with a woofer to really crank it the tunes during our workouts. I would recommend this tv for anyone who wants a basic tv.Matt

Installed this in my finished garage. Very nice looking t-stat. Easy to program, easy to operate. App seems to work pretty well, connects to wi-fi easily. Once in a while I can't connect but it's rare, and I can't say for sure it's the stat…it could be some other wireless/internet issue. Overall my experience is that this app works at least as well as most other apps…with so many variables out of Honeywell's control I would say it's pretty well designed and is solid. The stat itself seems to work well. It's very easy to read even from across my garage, and that's over 30' away. My only complaint so far is that the left side of the touchscreen seems to require a little excessive pressure to respond to input. I've seen other reviews with this complaint, but I can live with it because I pretty much leave the stat alone…I programmed a schedule so there's little need for me to make adjustments. I like that you can easily see indoor and outdoor temps & humidity….I keep motorcycles in the garage so it's nice to know how much humidity is in there. Data on the display seems to be accurate, but there are adjustable offsets for temp & humidity in the programming if you need to make adjustments. I keep mine set at 57`…the stat sends a call for heat to the furnace while it still shows 57`, it doesn't wait until it drops to 56`. It will heat to 59` and shut off, but this is prob due to my furnace being oversized for the space. It was given to me for free so I used it, but it's a 125K BTU unit in a 27×37 space with 11' ceiling…it's prob about double what I need so I can't fault the stat for my furnace not cycling exactly right. Overall very happy with the thermostat, am considering buying one for the house. Funny how the garage always gets upgrades first…. 🙂Nicknamed
The thermostat is excellent- very stylish, all functions are clear and navigation is easy. App works well too. Lots of reviews confirm this. The reason for the subtracted star is the 5 hours I spent trying to figure out how to find a C wire alternative in my Trane air-handler. It is from the late 80's, when no thermostats required power to operate. All they did was turn a signal voltage on and off via mercury switches. So there was no need for a terminal to provide power to the thermostat. Multiple phone conversations with Resideo provided no help- nor did the C-wire addendum they kept referring to. It was obvious to me (I have an electronics repair background) that 24 VAC had to be present in the airhandler- it was just a question of where you could get access to it without the magical C terminal. The answer, after lots of time researching on the internet, is that Trane units in that era had a B terminal that did the same thing. The B terminal provides the return path for the required 24 VAC to power the thermostat. I did have extra conductors running to my thermostat, so as soon as I hooked the B terminal of the Trane to the C terminal of the thermostat, everything was fine. Why Resideo support doesn't have that information available to customers is beyond me. It's not like Trane is a rare or obscure brand. I imagine 100's if not 1,000's of thermostats have been returned by homeowners that didn't have the knowledge to track this down. Not to mention all the hours of support calls to Resideo that went nowhere (like mine did). So if you have an older Trane heat pump air handler with a B terminal, just connect that to C on your new thermostat and you're set. And Resideo, if you monitor these reviews, PLEASE instruct your CSR's on the B terminal in Trane units.Edgecomber
The thermostat itself is great, got it on sale, decent value. I love the capabilities of the app as well… but it is a good thing is has a good app. It is a smaller unit, have to touch up paint around it which is no fault of the product. Install was very easy with the 5 wire set (you can buy proper wire at Home Depot if you do not have 5 wire.) I do like the glow of the back light, wish it would go one setting dimmer, though it does light the hall nicely when all of the lights are out. I believe you can choose different colours for the display as well. You can turn the back lighting out, but I do like it on, just as I said, one shade dimmer would be perfect for me, but that is just being picky. The only real negative on this unit is touch sensitivity, it doesn't react overly well to the touch. For this issue, I rated 4 out of 5 stars. My wife and I both found that you need to touch the display multiple times for the menu to function / respond. However, with the app, you should never really need to touch the main thermostat and the app works great. The features of temporary temp hold until the next schedule change is nice and the flexibility of creating your scheduling is awesome. I also like that the unit will show the outside temp / humidity as well as inside. I understand you can also purchase additional modules to have temp readings from other locations in the house, however I have not done that. Overall, I am happy with the purchase, it was a big upgrade from our previous digital unit which was over 10 years old and was not a wifi unit.Slack29

This skill works well with the exception of it lacking explanation for setup (not easy). The Nest device you wish to control has to be verbally referred to as it is set up in your Nest account. For example, my Nest thermostat was in my hallway and during setup with the Nest app, it asked where the device would be located so it was named "Hallway." After Alexa wouldn't successfully follow through with commands I became frustrated and wondered why it wouldn't work by simply saying the suggestion from the skill description. After several tries, I wondered if I needed to say, "Alexa turn the 'hallway' to 72 degrees"instead of temperature. Thankfully Nest allows you to change the name of the thermostat in settings. Go to Nest app >> Settings >> Thermostat >> Where >> Label (and name it what you prefer to say to Alexa). It seems odd to say "hallway" because I don't just want the hallway temperature changed, so I labeled mine "thermostat." I'm happy to confirm I can now ask, "Alexa… change the thermostat to 72 degrees" and she'll reply, "Setting Hallway, Thermostat AC to 72 degrees." The most rewarding part is after the low tone, I almost instantaneously hear the AC come on!Pops
Bottom line: Don't buy if you have a heating system that previously used just two wires or if you have zones. Nest installation should be easy, but when it's not, it's an ice-box hellscape with electrical schematics.
My boyfriend and I have been trying to install our Nest thermostats on-and-off for a YEAR now. We have a two-zone hot water system with a boiler, no cooling. We tried at the start of heating season last year and couldn't get either thermostat to work due to a lack of C-wires. We gave up. This year, we bought the Nest Power Adapters for $25 a piece. So far, we have tried troubleshooting three times, each time for at least an hour. Yesterday our downstairs was 52 degrees and our upstairs was 69. The downstairs thermostat seems to never call for heat, the upstairs keeps calling for heat long after our temperature setting has been met. My boyfriend just drew out his second attempt at a wiring schematic. And we've posted in the forums, too. The Nest support is incredibly shallow and missing all kinds of basics. We are long past the point where Nest advises to hire a professional. But you shouldn't have to hire a professional to wire a thermostat!Lauren M.
I purchased two Nest Thermostats for my home. I would have appreciated the plastic trim kit in the box, as the thermostats are so small they barely cover up the hole / old paint color. I was able to proceed after I purchased the extra trim kits (more $$) for just the plastic part (there was another metal bracket included but that got tossed). The software setup on the first one was okay, but the 2nd installation just would not work and would not find the 2nd thermostat. I retried the same process a few times to get stuck in the same place – a huge time waster. It took some time of on-line research and forums to see that a large # of other people also had this problem, and Google just had not fixed it for several months. I finally had to uninstall the original thermostat (after it was upgraded) and then was able to reinstall both of them successfully. After searching a whole week for a good phone to buy I stumbled across the Samsung Galaxy A52, and purchased on a Metropcs Store, the phone box was completely sealed clean with no scratches, transfering my old sim card to the new phone was easy, and there was no issues when restoring all of my contacts, or when downloading old apps. The phone is fast, it has a really good camera quality, and a lot of memory space. It supports games that my old Samsung A20 couldn't and the life battery lasts much longer. With my new phone I am able to take incredible pictures and videos for my school projects The camera focuses quickly, and I absolutely love the portrait option. I wish that it was available in Video, but as for now the portrait mode helps me not have to pay for photoshop in order to blur the background . Call quality is also amazing, the first time I made a phone call I was impressed with how good and clear I could hear the other person. The volume range is perfect, It is loud enough for me to play videos or movies in a room and still be audible enough for the people all the way in the back without distorting the audio The navigation buttons are customizable and so is the theme, the password options are excellent, and I absolutely adore how there is an option to choose locations in which you do not need to put your password to unlock your phone. I only have 2 issues that make my experience with this phone be a 8/10 and not a 10/10. The first one would be that bluetooth didn't work properly for me, I attempted to connect wireless headphones that i was able to connect to my old Samsung A20, but the name of them never appeared no matter how many times I pressed scan or recharged my headphones, I even tried to restart the phone and connect the headphones to another device to make sure the headphones worked properly. It does Connect to my samsung watch and to speakers properly but for some reason not to wireless headphones. My second issue is that when i attempt to download the IN-N-Out associate app it takes me to playstore and tells me that I have no internet connection, even when I have my mobile data on, or when I am connected to wifi, unlike my old Samnsung A20 where I downloaded the app without any issues and never had any sort of problem with playstore. Overall I am Content with the product and maybe I just got a defective one, if someone is looking for a fast and easy to use phone with great storage, and camera quality I would recommend this phonePriscilla
I won't mince words. I hate the Samsung A53. Photos are unbelieveable difficult and every picture shows blurry movement. The device is unbalanced in the hand with the 5 camera lenses bulging from the back. Sound is cheap and tinny. Size is designed for very large hands. The camera is difficult, poor quality, and useless. I loved my previous Samsung 5S for 6 years. I was told to replace it because it no longer received updates. I was sent to BestBuy for another Samsung. The bottom 1/3rd of the touch screen is unresponsive to touch and won't allow me to answer an incoming call. I have to return all incoming calls myself. There are so many defects with this device, beginning with turning it on. There is no way to turn on the phone screen except to use the very hard to push impossibly thin button on the right side which will break due to constant need to use the button rather than a screen swipe to turn on method. I hate this phone and do not recommend it.Unhappy
The hardware is good but I bought it to mod and it would appear the US version (even the unlocked XAA version) will never show the "OEM Unlock/ing" option in Developer Options (even though it's Exynos not Snapdragon and even though the European equivalents do). Samsung, feel free to contact me otherwise (even if it means I have to give up the warranty), otherwise this will be my last Samsung phone/hardware (if I don't return it… it's not too late, if I do then my Note 8 was my last one). The hardware is decent but I'm not willing to give up software flexibility like I did on the Note 8 (this is strike 2 and you won't get a 3rd). I haven't decided whether to keep or return this (but getting OEM unlock on it would sway me into keeping it and revising my rating). I got it on sale and could use it as a backup to my primary driver which is the only reason I haven't definitely returned it already. Samsung: for the most part you make good hardware (I don't need nor want an edge curved screen which breaks easier and offers no benefit, and I DO want an SD card slot and 3.5mm jack), but your software is too bloated and I have no interest in your ecosystem. Allowing OEM Unlock would allow expert users to "fix" your software shortcomings but you appear to be blocking that now even on unbranded devices at full price. Continuing to lock your bootloaders means you've permanently lost a customer (and since I'm most people in my sphere of influence's IT guy, you've lost my recommendation to all of them).SS84

The screen is very good – sufficiently high resolution, sensible size, and the brightness control is always just right. Sound is loud and very clear but don't expect a hi-fi speaker because it has little bass. Although based on the same software and AI, the Nest Hub really capitalises on its screen, giving it many advantages over Google's Smart Speakers. I use the timers a lot, and often several at once when cooking. Being able to see their progress all at once is great, and they have fun themed sounds and animations if you name the timers. It's also great to see at a glance that what you said was understood, because your voice recognition results appear at the top of the screen as you speak. When it's not busy it can show photos from albums and I completely underestimated how nice this is. The whole family enjoys seeing forgotten photos pop-up unexpectedly, which would normally otherwise only see the light of day when searching for something else. Search results appear with more context, and they're surprisingly intelligently displayed – gently scrolling over the part of the web page with the relevant answer. There's no camera so you can't send video calls but the speakerphone audio quality is excellent. If your kitchen counter has too much stuff standing close around the Hub I noticed the precision of the voice control is reduced, but it's excellent otherwise, and works amazingly well with a lot of background noise. It has real volume buttons on the back that you can use by feel, but you can also use gestures on the screen to show a touch volume slider. The only downside I can think of is it's not going to fill a large living space with dance music, but for an average room it's more than enough. It seems very well built, but if it went wrong I would have to get a replacement right away as I would really miss it.happy-bug

Connect your pandora, Disney+, Netflix and so much more! I absolutely love my !!! I know I’m lame ha ha ha but my favorite functions are the alarm clock that displays your Google schedule as soon as you disable the alarm and the fact that I can tell my Nest Hub to FaceTime family COMPLETELY hands free!! It’s perfect for broadcasting shows for little ones who get to tapping away on cell phones! The speaker is loud enough to hear throughout my apartment but it’s not a surround system at all! Not as loud or nearly as much bass as my JBL Charge 4 Bluetooth Speaker but definitely has more functionality’s! A plus is I am able to piggyback Bluetooth speakers from my Nest Hub to be able to control and play music in multiple rooms at once.
I purchased this for my elderly grandmother but she rarely used it for more than the clock feature. There are only three “readable” full size clock faces and none which can show the time and date at the same time. The options to have the date time and or weather are only available with photo frame mode and appear much smaller in the corner “difficult to read” she said. It would be nice to have more display options that could show relevant info. The product hasn’t had any updates or customizability changes of the years and remains fairly limited. It would be nice to have a Home Screen that could have widgets to adjust the size of or more full screen clock options. This product was clearly not tested with people older people. I ultimately settle with a another clock product. I guess playing music or YouTube videos is useful while in the kitchen but otherwise misses a lot of potential and forgotten as a product in there line.Austin Grant

As someone whom has only dabbled in the smart phone assistant world, I am not sure what to expect. But, after a week of usage – I must say, this smart display has exceed all expectations. – display: while it doesn't have the highest resolution, it is perfectly fine for my use case: watching some news, youtube while eating. following recipes. – sound: I've read online that the speaker isn't great. I don't know what they are comparing it against. To me, the sound is pretty good! it lacks base (like most speakers that size), but it is clear, loud and can fill the room easily. It basically sounded like a premium bluetooth speaker. If you are big on hip hop with a ton of base then this won't really work. – mic: gotta say, it picks up your voice command VERY EASILY. I can instruct the display to do things from the second floor even. and I didn't even need to raise my voice. Though occasionally when you are behind it, I find it doesn't pick up as well. but overall, it works 95% of the time. – Google home: this basically works like most other google homes with the benefit of screen. which means you can cast things to the display. HOWEVER, it does not yet display Netflix which is a huge bummer. Overall, I am very happy with it. It is definitely a great kitchen gadget and the ability to use voice while you are preparing for breakfast/cleaning up is AWESOMEJeff
First smart display unit appeared to be working just fine but then we realized oh the touchscreen isn't working. Went through the troubleshooting tips, no go. Returned the unit and got another. But since this can do everything a smart speaker can do. I had some questions up front, and they answered those questions within 2x business days. I bought the 2x 14" Trio Max screens for $504 total. It was delivered to my doorstep with no signature required, so it could have easily been stolen. It wasn't. Since my computer has 2x usb-c ports, I had no driver issues, the 2x displays turned on. I requested a return and refund based on the following issues: -The magnets are too weak for the 14" screens. When sliding out the screens, they move around and you have to put them back after fully opening them. -The plastic clips for the 2nd screen are wobbly and weak. -The slider mechanisms are stiff and not smooth. -The stand for portrait mode doesn't work. The 14" screen to too heavy for the hinge. -I have a Lenovo P52, and when the magnets are installed, the laptop main display turns off. The magnets trip an internal sensor in the laptop screen. I raised the screen turning off issue to Mobile Pixels and they told me that they are aware of that issue for Lenovo and Dell models. Of course they did not mention this 'known' information up front before purchase. Anyway, they offered me a couple free items worth about $25, but to me the screens were only worth $504 if they slide out from the main laptop display, so I declined and opted for a refund. At this point it took several days to receive my shipping label from Mobile Pixels and when I received the electronic label, they said my refund would be issued after the product was delivered back to them and then they would deduct the return shipping costs. I told them I wouldn't pay for return shipping costs of a product that doesn't work as advertised, then Mobile Pixels responded saying I would get the full refund. Well, now they have had the return in their posession for a week, and they won't respond to emails and they have not refunded my money. Such a unnecessary headache.Timothy G.
I bought this because I travel a lot and want multiple screens, like I have at home. This idea is outstanding, but it's lacking in product quality and design. 1.) I bought this and started assembling it… One of the clips that holds the monitors together broke. So, I had to purchase new, additional clips to replace the broken clip. 2.) the magnets hold (mostly), but I ended up putting two magnets in each spot on one of my laptops because the monitors kept slipping off. That was disappointing.. However, I worry that 2 magnets at each spot, might be overkill and also cost damage to the monitors. But they were falling off with just one magnet installed (as suggested by Mobile Pixel. instructions), so there was that….. 3.) I took this unit on 1 Trip (ONE) (in fact I'm still on the trip). I carried my Mobile Pixel Trio in my carry on…. AND THE SCREEN ON ONE OF THE MONITORS BROKE. This means that from my house, rolling my luggage to the car, placing in the car, and then rolling it through the airport and placing it into the overhead was too stressful for the monitor to endure… WOW… This is supposed to be a mobile professional friendly device. But it's very very fragile. I contacted Mobile Pixel and asked if they would replace it under warranty but they said no. I do appreciate their rapid response, but darn – this device literally did not last 1 trip and broke already… I paid over $600 for the TRIO setup and now, I just bought a 2nd replacement monitor.. When I think about all the other electronic devices I carry daily that do not break (laptops, phones, smart watches, cameras, etc.) it's just disappointing. 4.) Mobile Pixel did respond almost immediately to my contact email. I really appreciate their rapid response on the weekend. They said they would repair it, at the cost of $145 not including shipping, or a new one for $199.. They also mentioned there is Cracked screen replacement insurance that I could have gotten for $20.99 but shipping on their options was not included and I'm not sure if it would be overnight. 5.) I went ahead and ordered a replacement monitor on Amazon instead, because I'm working right now, out of town and want/need the extra monitor to do my job. (And Amazon can deliver me a new one today/ same day). Overall, I would say the concept and idea is 5 star. The execution of this and the build quality is like 1 star.. This device should be much more rugged, considering it's for travelling professionals. I do appreciate Mobile Pixel customer service responding to me so quickly though. That was much appreciated, although in the end, there wasn't much they could do, other than sell me a new one. I will be packing this much more carefully with bubble wrap, and in my backpack instead of my carry on. I hope that approach works better.WD
I know the claim is that this makes your laptop have three screens, but in reality you're simply getting two separate second screens. You attach one to the other the same way you attach the first one to your laptop. That seems problematic to me because the first screen gets attached to your laptop via four dime sized pieces of adhesive. Having both screens attached seems like it would be too heavy to really use portably. After seeing it all out of the box, checking the weights, and how it would attach, I simply attached one to my laptop using it as a second screen and then gave the other one to someone else to use as a second screen for their laptop. The transmitter itself has a small footprint and is easy to set up, just plug the HDMI to a TV or projector, the power cable and you pretty much set. The device transmit its own WiFi signal to make a direct connection from your Windows or Android Device to the iOgear video transmitter, no need to be connected to any WiFi network. Connecting to the device was easy and the resolution was pretty good. Manufacture advertise connection as far as 50 feet, in my case it went a little bit over that. Even with the good image and strong connection I did encountered sound issues it was delayed, it happens with both Os Windows and Android, the device also got a little hot. This device is target more for people without a smart TV, but with technology so advanced now days this device is in a very crowded space since you can stream your phone/tablet/ PC to practically any smart TV. This unit was intended for the specific purpose of allowing my students to stream research results, programming lessons. and presentations from their laptops and phones to a classroom wall-panel monitor. This application works fairly well, as students were able to download the app to their phones (android only) and then connect and cast their research and presentations to the wall panel for the entire class to easily see. There is an intermittent lag of a few seconds between the phones and the display, so the best use seems to be for “slow moving” presentations and web pages or other research results on a “screen by screen” basis. Students were excited to think that they might be able to share their gaming experiences during slack time, but the lag somewhat impedes following game play smoothly. This device might be redundant for more modern TV panels that have “smart” capability or wireless connectivity built in, but when comparing the W10 Miracast performance to this device (a comparison that was part of the class ‘research’ involved in setting up and using this device) the built-in Miracast running through the school wireless network was less effective and had significantly more lag and screen tearing. Overall, for the application described above, this device is a good solution especially considering the modest cost of equipment. As long as you are using laptops with Windows 10 (avoids having to download and install additional drivers) or an android phone 4.2 or higher, this is a very cost-effective way of sharing laptop and phone displays to a large audience.banjo

Excellent quality and superb warranty from MS. The adapter works great as marketed and has very little lag if any. It's only an issue if your device is very low end or if you're far away from the adapter. In general, the best it can get for a miracast type of device (chromecast just doesn't do everything I want given the environment, e.g. no wifi networks). Mine had a USB port issue and a simple online chat with MS support got me an instore replacement. Quick and simple. The best service I've gotten for gadgets. One issue that might be a deal breaker is that depending on the firmware version (they do get updated once in a while) and your phone OS, it might not connect at all. My Blackberry Priv on Android doesn't play nice with it. All other Windows laptops (with WiFi direct/miracast support) work well, including a Windows 10 Mobile phone that turns on Continuum with this dock. You might want to do a search to see if MS's official list includes your Android phone or when on sale, take a chance with it if you use it with other Windows machines. Great over all. I'm very happy with this purchase. Keep in mind, this "Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter V2" is a Miracast adapter or a Wireless Display (WiDi) adapter. Initially they were different standards to do the same thing but got merged years ago. It was designed to be a form of Wireless HDMI connection and it does a pretty good job of that. It's supports 1080p video and up to 5.1 audio channels (though I don't know if this MS adapter supports that many audio channels). The MS Display Adapter V2 should be compatible with any newer Windows 8 or newer PC, I have Windows 10, with a fairly current Intel Processor should support this adapter. Why is it better than a Chromecast? Well, it's not, but it is…they're for different things. It's better than a Chromecast for sending your display to because the latency is much lower. In other words, if you move the mouse with the chromecast you will need to wait for the mouse pointer to catch up. You will not have this problem using this adapter. Also, the Chromecast will only send what's on your screen. The MS Display Adapter will make your TV act like another monitor connected to your PC so you can use it as an additional desktop, or mirror the screen. You could have three displays already and add your TV as a fourth with this adapter – I've done that. I've even added it mirroring one of my secondary displays so I had display 1 and 2 and then display 3 mirrored to a TV. In other words you just get a lot more flexibility and the wireless display really works like any other monitor would. Keep in mind, it's not a Chromecast. That means that apps can't cast directly to it. For instance I can cat netflix from my phone to the Chromecast and the connection of the video from netflix goes directly to the Chromecast. If I did that with a Wireless display adapter it would take play through my PC first and the PC would send it to the MS Display Adapter. It should work but it's not the best way to do it. Especially if you're on battery on your laptop. That will take a lot of battery. The MS Display Adapter, since it's basically a Miracast adapter, will also work with many if not all LG and Samsung Android phones for the last number of years. Look for some kind of "Smart View" app or another built in cast app that's on your phone. It should find your MS Display Adapter and work easily! The Setup is extremely easy! Since the MS Display Adapter doesn't connect to the internet at all you just use the free Wireless Display Adapter app from the Windows Store to configure it and you're done. And by configure it all you really need to do is check for updates for it and name it. The update process may take a while and could even time out at one point saying it fails but don't worry, it doesn't. It will work. Give it some time. Make sure you get the V2 version. It's easy to tell the difference. Both ends of the V2 version are about the same size. One of the ends on the original V1 version is much larger than the other end. Have fun!hotice
Bought two of these. One worked and one didnt. Will be returning. The one that works is flawless. Easy to setup and connect to, but I believe the packaging is what broke the other. The way the cord is saddled into the cardboard packaging puts a very tight strain on where the cord is married to the USB and HDMI pieces. Right out of the package it has a kink in the cable and on top of that, they twist it to get it to stay. That will break any cable pretty quick and the cable is so thin. My suggestion, but 2 if you need 1 to work. Return it if its broke or not needed.Kream

After having this TV for 14 months 3/4 of the screen started getting lines and became washed out. You can still the the picture of what ever screen or streaming channel you are on, but it is very annoying and distorted. I have tried every thing to fix it on my own and even called TCL tech support. After spending 45 minutes on the phone with the Philippines tech support, nothing worked. Their options were to check with my back and see if I have buyer protection or take it to an authorized TCL service location and have it fixed. Prior to all this happening, there were little things about the tv that bothered me, but I could tolerate them. The tv functions were slow to respond. For example, when I would change the volume, the lag time for it to start changing was about 5 seconds or more. Once it changed, then it was more responsive, but this is a constant thing. There are times when accessing the streaming apps, it would take quite awhile to load compared to my other brand Roku tv's in the house. I believe this model of TCL tv has a very slow processing unit in it. I would not buy it again and I would not buy it based upon the support from TCL. We bought two of the same model tv and the other one is still in the box because they were a good deal and because of the whole Roku/Spectrum squabble, we never used it. I am afraid that stealing it from my wife (was hers to use) and using it will result in the same issue down the road. I will most likely end up replacing the replacement down the road and buying my wife a new one. Our purchases will definitely NOT be TCL.Rod
Overall a great television! I purchased this to mount to the wall in my RV and have been pleased with it so far! I have to say that the software on this television is faster and more responsive than my (supposedly) nicer Samsung TV I have at home. I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of what I thought was going to be a "cheapo" TV. The pros/cons listed are viewed through that lens of RV usage since it's a relatively specific use case. Pros: *Feels sturdy when mounted through the VESA mount. *Low power usage, which was important for our solar power system in the RV. *Roku being built in makes it easy to connect the TV to the RV parks WiFi when you arrive. This is especially nice because you don't have to have your own WiFi router or hotspot to cast something from your phone with. *Affordable, especially when considering it's a Full HD TV instead of the 720p that you usually see for this price tag. Cons: *Speakers are okay at best. Especially lacking in bass. Can't say that I was expecting any different, but we have the audio go into an audio system anyways. I would definitely recommend this model as long as you anticipate that the speakers are not quality. But rarely do the built in speakers sound good on a television. I've been seriously considering buying a larger version of this to replace my home TV.TheSolarGeek
I am quite happy so far, with the TV. Assuming it is built to last (time will well), this TV is a great value. If you want a nicely featured TV, albeit with older technology, don't hesitate to check this one out. It ships with Android TV 11, and not with the Google TV interface. I find the Android TV interface much better as it is easier to personalize. Not to mention that the Google TV interface is built to **always** suggest content from paid services that you don't even subscribe to – the Android TV interface mercifully does not do this. The picture quality is good (limited to 1080p), sound is OK for a smaller space, but even then you will want a soundbar or other external speakers, if you really care about sound quality. It has limited storage space, which could be an issue if you would intend to install many apps, or want to store many media files. The solution for file storage is to setup a Plex media server (I use a raspberry pi for this)- it is a free piece of software for personal use. Then you would install the Plex client on the TV, and makes all your media on the Plex server, available to view on your TV. If you have basic needs for an HD TV/media platform, this will likely fit the bill. If you want the latest and greatest, you'll probably want to look elsewhere.NS

Phillips use to be a great reliable brand when I was young. But now it's one of the worst brands of televisions that you can buy. The sound is horrible, my Toshiba is louder and clearer on low than this Philips TV is on high. Plus the audio leveling does not work so you get blasted when commercials come on then the sound drops as soon as your movie or TV show comes back on. I thought the remote went bad so I bought replacement remotes only to realize that the problem is with the Philips television. I have to press the buttons several times before the TV responds. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on a PHILLIPS TV!!! Phillips must have switched and started using cheaply made parts. At least once a week I have to reset the TV which deletes everything so I have to re-add the streaming services and sign back in again.Misty
I love the TV itself, its great on all levels…however the remote not so much. I dont think you could get much more basic…for a few reasons. The lack of controls, it has all the buttons you need…but lacks a lot of the buttons you want. You control a movie (pause, ffwd ,play etc) with the remote, but its nice to have the actual buttons to choose from. ..plus having those buttons might give you more functionality when using various apps. It has four preprogrammed buttons for apps that are pre-installed on the tv(netflix, youtube, paramount + and tubi) I hate when remotes do that…like I use netflix and youtube but dont use nor will I be using paramount + and tubi. It would be nice if you could reprogram those buttons to use a different app. The reception on the remote stinks as well. It can be very laggy and even though its connected by bluetooth (and i have reset the bluetooth connection more than once)…it wont work unless it has clear line of sight. I have another tv (diff brand) with a bluetooth remote and i can go stand in a different room.and change the channel…however with this remote/tv if the remote doesnt have a clear line of sight it will.not work, even if I am sitting 4 feet away from tv. I can sit in front of my tv point the remote at the tv with a clear line of sight and cover the end of the remote with my hand and it wont work untill I uncover it…whats the sense of having it bluetooth if it doesnt add functionality? ..not remote related but it would be nice.if you could set a default input so everytime you turn the tv on it goes to that input instead of it going back to the last used input….but thats something you could.put in a firmware update…it.is an adroid tv afterall.lilrick78
We had a top-of-the-line Samsung TV that broke in less than 2 years. Even though every single TV we have in our house is Samsung, we were not willing to pay a premium for a new TV when obviously their quality is declining. We decided this go around that we wanted to wall mount the replacement TV. I was so happy to come across this Philips 4K Ultra HD Android Smart LED TV. We are long time "cord cutters" and typically use Roku as our streaming platform of choice. Being that we were wall mounting this new TV without the luxury of built in TV electrical in the wall we chose to mount on, I was so excited that this Android Smart TV would take away the necessity of the Roku so it would be 1 less cord hanging and device to deal with. At first I was a little hesitant about the ease of use of the Android platform as the Roku platform is so user-friendly with all the possible channels you could need. We hung this TV in our playroom and my daughter only watches 3 channels (Disney+, Disney Now, and YouTube) and I was so delighted that the Android platform has all of them. After some trial and error with fixing her "favorites" so the apps she uses pops right up on the top of the screen (long hold the "Ok" button) we are smooth sailing. The TV is so easy to use and the picture is so vibrant, crisp, and clear. I also love the voice control remote. It is a game changer especially while using YouTube where we are constantly searching for videos my 3 year old is requesting to watch. My only critique of this TV is that it is a little bit bulky on the back side compared to what we are used to. Overall, I would recommend this TV. Setting: Office Goal: Smart speaker to make work phone calls and have my calendar readily available Phone: iPhone 13 Pro CALLS: This did not meet my expectations to be used as a smart speaker nor as a bluetooth speaker to make work phone calls. Using it as a bluetooth speaker was unreliable. Using it as a smart speaker by asking it to call certain people requires the use of Google Duo. I got it to work to the point where the call recipients would see my name (instead of a random Google number); however, Google Duo (as of Feb 2022) has a significant voice volume limitation – I could barely hear the person on the other end of the call. CALENDAR: A work calendar-only setting is susprisingly NOT available. The hope was that I could have a calendar-only view at all times and maybe go to a photo viewer as a screen saver if necessary but that was not possible. This device wants to be all of the things, all of the time- home hub, calendar, weather, news, YouTube, etc. Attempting to get it to do one thing only (e.g. Calendar) is almost impossible. Functionally, this is very much a home hub situation…as in, it's much better as a passive piece of equipment in the kitchen or living room to do smart home tasks, watch some videos, get Google Assistant to run tasks or searches. 4/5 STARS: Previously, I've used Siri, Alexa, & Google Assistant and I believe Google has the best smart hub assistant. However, all phone calls go over Wi-Fi by using the phone's contacts and essentially creating a virtual phone with your. name on it (have to manually add that feature to show your name on the recipient's phone). Google does this through Duo the same way Amazon Echo devices use Alexa. Google Duo is also, respectfully, absolute garbage… it could be so much better, but it isn't! Note that I am using an iPhone so there may be so incompatibilities there. The HomePod actually controls your iPhone directly, which is much more convenient but reliability of consistent performance just wasn't there with the HomePod (original & mini) either. Some of the features on the Nest Hub Max are fantastic for use as a home hub- having it pull up music, YouTube videos, controlling smart home devices (e.g. Hue lights)- I would definitely recommend it for those tasks, specifically.David
I’ve been developing a smart home for about 4 years now and when Amazon Echo devices started showing forced advertising I wanted to migrate over to the Google Nest Hub but when I started setting it up I discovered this device is even more intrusive with personal information than Amazon. Once more there is no way to download any apps to use with their Hub. It comes with a few abbreviated versions including a barely functional YouTube app. I was shocked since this is a google device and YouTube is owned by them. You can’t sign onto your YouTube on this device and can only cast your content from another device like your phone or tablet to the Hub. Google really missed the mark with this one. As far as Eufy security cameras go they aren’t all supported so seeing video from my front or back door or doesn’t happen. I thought well I can use it as an expensive photo display but it demands access to all of your phone’s contents so I opted out realizing this is simply an invasion of privacy by Google. What works well: It's neat you can do video calls and such with Duo, and it can bring up web pages when you ask. Multi-room audio is great when supported. Sound output is decent for its size. Ambient display is neat. What needs improvement: A year and a half after buying it's still functional, albeit slow The UI update they released makes the interface stutter. Assistant can sometimes not respond at all or be delayed in answering. I've compared the performance to my Echo Show, and while it beats it out on general queries no, though that wasn't the case prior, so good to see progress there. By far the most annoying thing is that you cannot separate audio volume from voice and media, so if you're watching a show or movie then ask it a question you're going to get a very loud Assistant voice. For home control the interface is better than the Echo Show, though a bit delayed sometimes. There is no "short response" option so telling it to turn off lights will not result in a short response. One more feature this thing could benefit from is volume normalization considering the large speaker on it. Lastly, there is no news feed option in case you want to see what kind of bad stuff is going on in the world. Maybe that's by design.Jafar
