A lot of reviewers say it burns. It does a little but this is what made me feel like it's working. I didn't get any redness just felt a tingle. Aren't retinoids supposed to sting a little if they're strong? I can't say I pay close enough attention to see a difference. Then again, I've tried other retinoids and don't see a difference with them either, so I might just not have an eye for gradual improvement. Some other Retinoid products didn't have the slightest sting, which made me feel like they just don't have any oomph. But I could be wrong. I also got the trial size as a gift with purchase so I didn't use it for long. Because I got the trial tube, I can't speak to the complaint I've seen about that and wasted product.Bea
After exfoliating in the shower and application, the product stings my skin and it has a burning sensation that has lingered for several minutes. My face is quite red from it – probably from the Retinol and possibly from applying it ontop of my serum with hyaluronic acid (my mistake). All the previous times I've applied it, there is a slight tingling where you massage the product into the skin. Not unpleasant but on sensitive skin it may be irritating and may not be suitable to apply every day. Press down on the top to squeeze out the product – a full push down dispenses just a touch too much product for my face – but I would probably use this amount on an extra dry day. The product comes out the colour between pale yellow to pale seafoam green. There is only a slight scent – not overpowering but not fragrance-free and I quite enjoy it. Bonus: you can unscrew the lid to scoop out the product at the end of use. I know it's supposed to be a 2-in-1 serum with cream but it's consistency and the feel on my skin makes me want to either use a serum first and/or apply a moisturizer after. I've been applying a serum before and it seems to be the best route for me. It's also winter so my skin is naturally dryer than normal so I would be happy to use this product without an additional serum or moisturizer in the hot summer. It's got a thick consistency but is not greasy at all. It soaks into the skin quickly and doesn't leave any kind of residue. Sometimes when I use a serum and moisturizer, there's an odd reaction where it pills or balls up, like dead skin – this does not do that. I've been using it for over 1 month now and I didn't have any notable wrinkles to begin with, but I haven't gotten any new ones…so I am happy with that! I wasn't let down by any means, this time either! I applied the product nightly, before bed. To my pleasant surprise, my skin still hydrated without any sign of dryness -at all! I have mature skin, combination, so moisturizing is very important to me. I used this product for a consistent 20 nights. After the 20th night, noticed my skin felt more firm, and brighter in appearance. My under eye dark spots seem to have landed as well. I bought this earlier this week and tried it out the first night. I noticed a tingling sensation right away, but thought nothing of it. The next morning I woke up to painful, cracking, red, swollen skin all over my face. I wouldn’t have imagined retinol burn would be possible by using so little and only on the first try, but clearly I was wrong. It is now five days later and I still cannot apply anything to my face without the swollen redness reappearing. It burns almost nonstop, and I’ve had to use ice packs to fill the sensation. I saw this has a bad review and wanted to write that the bad review is not entirely the products fault but possible the users. Retinol is a product that will irritate and dry out the skin. Do you research before using this and decide what’s best for your skin. I have sensitive skin and knew it would take me time to build up a tolerance to retinols especially being a newb. I personally started with a few days in between then increases, if my skin got irradiated I backed down. Now I can apply almost nightly, if there is irritation back off, listen to your skin. I can tell you though, retinol when used correctly, can really provide positive results! Moisturizer prefs are personal and the characteristics of this one are different enough so that it stood out to me amongst the dozens sent in my Birchbox subscription. In fact this is the only one I ended up buying. Like someone else said, this smells like tea tree oil so if you don't like that scent…. To me, it smells fresh and clean but dissipates properly. I like the gel-like consistency and light weight, it was the differentiator for me. Keep in mind, that means your skin soaks up more of it; the pea-sized dosage recommendation for high end, denser facial moisturizers doesn't apply to this one. I use 5x that. That's not a big deal, IMO, by weight it's cheaper than some Oil of Olay. My only beef is the packaging. The shipping box was all paper so that's great, but the product container is completely unrecyclable. I'd pay more for glass bottle with no throw away pump. Kiehl's is owned by some massive company so that should mean it'd be super easy, bc plenty of bottles to repurpose.Adam W

While it does decrease the amount of oil shine during the day when it counts the most, in the evening it's almost like my skin releases all the oil that was being held back during the day and I look and feel greasier than I did before. I was a bit skeptical when I first ordered this product. I have always, and I mean always, had a huge problem with oily skin around my t-zone. However the rest of my skin has a dryness issue, so clearly I need to use a moisturizer. So I've always felt that the moisturizers I have used have increased the oiliness around my t-zone and made shininess a bit worse. This product is really amazing, I use it every day (with a heavier moisturizing cream at night) and I always have just enough skin hydration without greasiness. Now I will add one problem I've had while using the product- I work in a restaurant, so obviously there will be some grease in the air. After a long time working (i.e. running around frequently and always being on the go, not to mention the condition of the air in a steakhouse kitchen) I will occasionally still have SOME greasiness in my t-zone. However, I don't fault the product for this as I feel that the circumstances are somewhat unusual. The only reason I mention this issue at all is because you can't expect this product to work miracles, I certainly don't. Was so excited to receive this La Roche-Posay Effaclar Salicylic Acid Serum from La Roche-Posay and Influenster last week! I've *always* had acne prone skin – even now in my 30s – and uneven texture, so Salicylic Acid is a regular part of my routine. This serum goes on super smoothly from its glass dropper (bonus for ensuring sanitary application!) and glides on your skin. It has a very nice, even texture – a little goes a long way! Wow such a nice serum. I've heard so many good things about la roche posay ive only been able to try a couple things so far but everything they make is so good and so good for your skin. I will always trust every product this brand makes. But this serum is really nice it's not just a Salycilic Acid Serum for acne and breakouts it also has glycolic acid and Niacinimide in it. I do a nightly skincare rotation throughout the week. 1st night exfoliants 2nd night retinol 3rd 4th night recovery w/ just Hyaluronic acid. I've added this serum into my exfoliant night routine and it's perfect just what I was missing because I still get random breakouts here and there so the Salycilic Acid helps with that and the Niacinimide and glycolic acid for exfoliating, resurfacing brightening. I was excited to receive this product from La Roche-Posay, a brand I love. I do have hormonal acne, so I thought I might be a good candidate for this product. However, I think the active ingredients in this product were a bit too strong to incorporate into my existing skincare routine. I also use a retinoid, and I think the addition of this glycolic acid in this product was just too irritating for my skin. I think if you’re looking to try a new product for acne, this is a great place to start, as the ingredients are effective for many people (BHA, AHA, niacinamide). However, I prefer to use my retinoid and in combination with this, it was too irritating on my dry skin. I used the Effaclar SA Serum for over a week, replacing my retinoid, and I noticed I had a bit more acne than usual, which could have been purging, but I did not notice any existing spots faded. Okay so it took me a bit to realize you shouldn’t be using this as the last step of moisturizing unless your skin is very oily. This is meant to provide moisture not retain and keep it in like most moisturizers. Which is fine because the effect when I use it more like a serum is amazing!! Plump and a glass skin like texture that looks hydrated without being oily! It also smells legitimately like a watermelon unlike most artificial scents. I like that it comes in a nice glass bottle and have already purchased again in various sizes after I received it as a gift the first time. I will say it is quite overpriced due to the amount you get and how much you can go through but the product itself is worth it so I took off one star. For context, I've been using this moisturizer all summer. I purchased the mini watermelon moisturizer and have used almost the entire bottle. I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin and I had tried different creams and such to bring moisture back to my skin but nothing was really working. I use 1-1.5 pumps of this moisturizer twice daily and it has made a huge difference in my skin texture. Before I had patches of dryness which affected my foundation application but not anymore. Yes it's a gel moisturizer so it's not a heavy moisturizer but it does compliment other products, NO pilling when used with other products and my skin is more glowy now! Love the smell and that its very light weight, almost like a serum. I have oily skin most of the time (sometimes combo) but last year for a short time I suddenly had dry flaky & itchy skin patches and found out I suffered from skin dermatitis. Being sensitive to a lot of ingredients, I started researching skin care products & their list of ingredients to find something more natural and safer for my skin. This hit the mark, so I ordered from Sephora to try it out. This is fantastic that it doesn't make me oilier or feeling greasy on my oily days ( a little drop, 1 to 2 pumps goes a long way). I honestly use it as a serum most of the time for my nighttime routine, as it's so lightweight, I can add a moisturizer over it without getting greasy. I really feel like it gives me a nice brighter & naturally light from within kinda glow to my skin, without feeling like my skin is too dewy/shiny (being that I usually have oily or combo skin, I don't want added shine, so this is just perfect!) and it helps soften my skin too. I can't say it reduces redness though (at first I felt like it did, but not so much anymore, but for the smell, the moisturizing/softness, brightness and glow, I do love this!) As for that dermatitis issue of severe dryness I was having when I started with this product, within a week it went away with this serum! Little to no scent, it does sting a little after applying but after checking multiple sources and many reviews, this is normal with retinol products. I have very sensitive skin so I imagine those with normal skin will not have any stinging.I dislike that CeraVe doesn’t disclose the amount of retinol percentage and instead gives a non-answer, but the tiny amount of retinol it has is indeed effective. I have REALLY uneven skin, lots of bumps from old blemishes that made hiding everything with makeup difficult. I bought this a little over three weeks ago and used it in tandem with Melano CC to lighten blemishes and it’s amazing how much has changed, my skin is nearly flat! I never thought any product could make my blemishes go away completely but I think it’s possible if I use resurfacing products for a while.For the first two weeks, I applied once daily before bumping it up to twice daily with the rest of my routine. Be prepared for a LOT of flaking at first if you had bad issues like me. After using up this bottle, I intend to change to a resurfacing product with a higher percentage of retinol!DN
I have sensitive and combination skin, parts are extremely dry and other parts are extremely oily. Many products break me out so I was hesitant to try this. After my first use I immediately noticed dry, flaky patches that begin to burn. I almost decided to stop it but thankfully I went online and did some research. After reading about retinol I learned that it's completely normal to have dry, red patches and some tingling or burning for the first week or 2. My skin was purging and becoming used to the product. I added in a non comedogenic moisturizer to help with the dryness. It has been a few weeks now of me using 2-3 times weekly and it no longer causes flakiness or burning. The red, post acne spots on my chin are already disappearing and my face is looking much healthier. I'm on my 3rd bottle of this serum. It is the only retinol I have ever used that does not burn my skin. "Resurfacing" is a great name for the effect, the application feels gentle but after a few consecutive days my skin starts flaking off like no tomorrow. Like, sheets of skin. In the first few weeks of use it dug up healed acne cysts, turned old scars bright red, and made my skin feel like a paper bag. Derma-E Vitamin C Night Cream makes for a great tag team. After healing up my skin is hydrated, bright and even and I rarely use concealer anymore. It's important to drink enough water, use moisturizer and sun protection with retinol, and to exfoliate gently and frequently. And don't ever ever put this on your lips lolLyz

You’ve changed the formula and ruined the best cream!! The previous cream bottle version was amazing which I used, together with the same Night cream, for years and years. Loved it and couldn’t be without it. Made my skin feel amazing. I used Olay Total Effects for years when I was a bit younger, and back then, niacinamide was not a well-known skincare ingredient, at least to the general public. So I didn't know why using this moisturizer made my pores look so refined, but I loved the effect, as well as the sunscreen. Then I started working for a skincare line and began using much more expensive — though not necessarily more effective — products. I no longer work for a skincare line, so it wasn't until the past couple of years that I began hearing about the benefits of niacinamide. I've always loved Clinique moisturisers, and so when this was recommended to me by a Clinique consultant for the first time, I was really excited to try something new. It felt absolutely amazing when I tried a small amount on my hand in store, but when I got home and started using it properly, I found my skin was left really sticky. I had a few areas of breakouts within the first week, but I put that down to being a new product and hoped it would calm down a bit in due course, but unfortunately it didn't. I've tried it a number of times since then in the hope that my skin was just being fussy (it can be very sensitive sometimes), but I'm still left with a sticky, spotty face afterwards, and in terms of feeling moisturised, it's not really doing much, especially in the more drier areas. As I normally have such confidence in Clinique products, I threw away my reciept so wasn't able to return it to the store for a refund 🙁 I'd really recommend asking for a sample or a smaller bottle if you're new to using this product as judging by the reviews it can be a little hit and miss.Kate

At first, I was combining it with a moisturizer right after and it made my eyes burn (products don’t get in, just fumes and/or scents). I got rid of the moisturizer and boom, burning all gone. However, although I love the product, the “hydration” isn’t very strong. But for me, I only need some hydration after a cleanse. The rest of the hydration, I leave it up to my body. It was my first time trying a custom personalized blend of moisturizer plus an active cartridge. I paired the Tone Up version of the moisturizer with a fatigue fighting cartridge (orange) The moisturizer delivers an instant rosy glow (as the description suggests) to my face. I've dry skin so the creaminess of the moisturizer works well for me. I'm not sure what effect the cartridge is actually having independently on my face but the overall product combination definitely keeps my face from drying and gives a very nice glow to it all day round. At times I don't even need to layer it with base makeup. Even a pump of it does the job. Got this on sale, and for the results it delivers, I would buy it for full price too.

Wow another CeraVe product that has been developed well for the skin. This is the second product in the CeraVe range that I have tried and have had great results with. I am in my early flurries and needed to seriously start thinking about a good retinol product to keep my skin hydrated, smooth and plump and this product definitely won me over. The packaging is plain and simple but definitely don’t judge this book by it’s cover. The pump bottle the product comes in is fantastic and not only a great size to fit in your travel bag but easy enough to store at home without any fuss. The pump bottle generally dispenses enough for each use with one pump. I sometimes do two pumps to saturate the skin a bit more but it is not necessarily needed each time I just wanted a bit more some evenings. The serum is lovely and light and not too thick for an evening product. I used in the evenings on a daily basis and found it spread evenly across my face and neck area and didn’t leave a greasy feeling afterwards. My skin absorbed this serum very well. I have sensitive skin however usually like something with a scent as I am lucky the scent doesn’t normally irritate my skin. This product doesn’t have a scent though which would suit most people it’s just a preference for me that I like. It certainly didn’t take away how well this product is performing. I used this product for a block of two weeks each evening after a hot shower and a face free of any other products. My face definitely is showing an even tone now and my skin is smooth and silky. Some of my fine lines around my lip area have reduced. I took photos for this one and could see a slight difference which was amazing. Although I received this product as a trial with the Beauty Crew I definitely feel that the price point for this serum matches what the product delivers. I feel CeraVe have put a great amount of effort and research into this product to ensure it backs up what it says it’s doing. I will continue to use this serum in the evenings and hope to see even better results as the nights go on. I would highly recommend this product for women of my age and skin type. I love this product! I have been using this product in my night time skin care routine for almost a month now. It has greatly improved my skin texture and evened out my skin tone, my stubborn acne marks are finally starting to fade, and I have no new breakouts. I’ve never found a retinol-based product that doesn’t make my skin dry and flaky but this one caused no dryness or flakiness whatsoever! I’ve always had combination acne prone skin and when I use this I don’t get any new breakouts and my skin is so smooth and soft. The texture of the serum is lightweight and it doesn’t feel gritty or pasty on application. You don’t need much as one pump is the perfect dosage for the entire face. Also loved the packaging. This retinol has really impressed me. I am an experienced retinol user and after 2+ weeks of trying this serum, it will definitely be a repurchase for me. I have also used the vitamin c from this range (will also be a repurchase) and have been using the retinol every night since I received it. I have experienced no irritation, reactions, dryness or flaking. This formula is beautiful – its thin, hydrating and spreads easily and evenly on the skin. It does not dry out or pill once absorbed. When I first started using retinol I wish this was on the market because its so easy to use, hydrates very well and is gentle! If you try anything from the skin renewing range make it this retinol and the Vit C to get all the wonderful anti-ageing benefits. This product has changed my mindset on skin care completely not only is this gel moisturizer so amazing feeling when putting it on, it absorbs so fast and leaves my face so hydrated but it has completely transformed my face texture wise, appearance wise, and helped me sooo much with my redness but also it has given me the confidence to love my skin with and without makeup! I've been using the Water Cream for years. I loved the lightweight formula. I applied it twice daily after washing my face. It easily glided onto my skin when I applied it and absorbed into my quickly making it a mess free application. My face felt hydrated and smooth afterwards without feeling weighed down with product. However, when I most recently re-purchased the Water Cream I immediately noticed that the consistently was different. The cream was no longer lightweight. It felt heavier and almost had a whipped texture to it. I really had to rub the product to work it into my skin, but eventually it felt like the smooth product so was used to so I chalked it up to me overthinking it. However, within a few hours my face felt itchy and when I was able to look in a mirror I saw tiny bumps all over my face. I immediately washed my face off and used a different moisturizer to try to soothe my face. I'm aware that people's skin changes over time and need to adjust their skincare regimen over time. But because the cream felt so drastically different I looked into it and Tatcha has confirmed that they "had some very minor ingredient changes to the ingredient list to make it comply with international regulations." I am so disappointed that they changed the formula without putting anything in their product description or on their packaging in a way that i found noticeable. To start it off, I don't have a terrible acne problem, but I have a terrible problem with picking at my face and making it worse. I found out about tatcha through an ipsy bag but somehow forgot about it after. I've been using PanOxyl for my acne recently and it's been working, but I started to think about my skin and the nourishment it needs. Although pricy, when I received the packaging and letters, I was in awe with how Tatcha is supporting the futures of young girls/women with purchases. So I know you can't make pores disappear, I will say that using these products for a minute now made my pores appear a lot smaller and unclogged?. I'm amazed. Literally. After this I'm sure to use Tatcha in my longterm skin routine. THE ONLY THING I AM UPSET ABOUT — Is that I didn't take before and after pictures to show how serious I am about it. I'm in my mid-30s with oily, acne-prone skin, and I've been on the hunt for a light, anti-aging moisturizer. This. Is. It. It has a very light texture (a little goes a long way) that absorbs very quickly but still feels nourishing. As other have noted, it has a light floral, herbal scent. I tolerate but don't usually love fragrance in skincare, but I've come to love the smell of this (though people with sensitive skin may want to stay away). The cream itself is also light enough that I can use it both in the morning and the evening, even with my oily skin. I purchased the mini version first to test it out, and after a month of regular use (morning and evening), I shelled out for the full size. I've noticed that my tired, uneven, drab looking skin looks like I'm wearing makeup when I'm not. It's more even, resilient, bouncy, and radiant. My pores look smaller and when I do have hormonal breakouts, this does seem to calm the inflammation. If you're in your 20s with great skin, I don't think this product would do much for you, but for me it's worth the investment. Also btw, this product was recently reformulated and Sephora hasn't updated the ingredient deck. The new version has no retinol — the Sulwhasoo website has the correct ingredient list, which I matched up against the box I received. This, along with the First Care Serum, is a standout product that is actually worth the high price tag.joyce11
This product was gifted to me by Sulwhasoo. I’m so happy to try this Korean skincare brand. As soon as it arrived, I unboxed the package and incorporated it into my nightly skincare routine. I apply this cream during the nighttime. I use it for my last step in my skincare routine. After washing my face, toning it, and adding serum. I apply this cream to my face and neck and sleep with it overnight. This method allows the cream to absorb into my skin adding moisture that my skin desperately needs! The Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream has made my combo skin feel nourished and super soft. It removed my dryness in my cheek area while making my face and neck area feel firm. However, this cream is for all skin types. The scent of this product is a ginseng scent and it’s not overwhelming. The cream is a lightweight consistency and not sticky, which is a positive for me. The texture of the cream is smooth, which is what I tend to like. I plan to continue using this as my nighttime moisturizer cream and ordering the larger size based off of my positive results I’ve noticed within a short time. I have been waiting for a chance to try Sulwhasoo's renewing cream for a while now, so of course, when I got the opportunity to try it as a gift, I jumped on it! First off, a little goes A LONG way here. Which is almost required given the price tag associated with the cream. It's very lightweight and if you're prone to greasy or even sensitive skin, you're safe here. Since we're still in the Fall season, not sure how this will be added to my winter skin routine. It has a nice clean spa-like scent to it, but the fragrance doesn't irritate one's skin. I have sensitive skin, so this is something I pay close attention to. This product is very nice, leaves your skin looking healthy, and gives you a "dolphin-skin" (think dewy skin) look with only one product! The only downside I have to this is the price – it's a lot. If you aren't fully committed I recommend going for the trial size instead. I absolutely love this serum, it's moisturizing, helped even my skin and reduced my forehead wrinkles. I was at a point where my facial skin was dry patches and forehead was all wrinkly. I found this retinol serum at a local TJmaxx for $10 and I thought of giving it a try. It's a 30 ml amber bottle with a dropper. I use it morning and evening and in just 2 months of time; my friends started giving me compliments for how my skin looked. I was shocked at what it had done to my skin, in a good way though! It's $13-14 on amazon and super cheap compared to all the high end serums and most importantly it works, it works wonders! Excellent eye cream, it plumps and smoothes the lines of my undereye area. I apply generously 10-15mins before makeup, and let it absorbe. It makes it a visible difference almost immediately and seems to help with the skin appearance in the mid-long term. It contains some retinol (not sure how much), but it is gentle enough for the delicate skin around the eyes. I find that if I apply it on the eyelid too close to the lashline, it eventually goes into the eyes (and it stings!), so I keep a safe distance.manuela.g
I've just received the cream, and I applied it in the morning after exfoliating my face and putting on a water-based toner. Pros: -The cream feels pretty lightweight on the skin, seems that it can be suitable for oily skin -Usually it is recommended that Retinol should not be used in the day, but with an SPF30, it seems that this can be used in daytime as well. -Fragrance is not too strong, and smells rather refreshing Cons: -There isn't any information on how strong the % of Retinol is in the formula, but I'm guessing that the % is quite low, as it did not mention Retinol at all other than the product name. -If you want to put other skincare products or makeup over this cream, you have to do it immediately after you apply this cream, or not there will be bits all over your face. I'm pretty sure that this is due to the film that the product forms on your face after it settled to protect the moisture in your skin or to protect your skin from the UV light, coz I find that many other sunscreen also has this problem. -People with sensitive skin should still try a bit on a small part of your skin (perhaps not your face) first before you try out this product. -People who dislike fragrance could find having a fragrance a con -I didn't put this product too near my eyes, so I don't find the product sting. I do not usually leave reviews but I hope this can help someone. I am 33 years old and have been using this product for about 2 years (along with the night cream) and have seen wonders. I broke out super bad 2 years ago (first time this happened but I think it was my makeup products) and tried several products but nothing seemed to work. I purchased an acne product, which seemed to work but was leaving my face super dried. After researching and in addition to my acne products, I decided to purchase the ROC day cream, ROC night cream, ROC eye cream and a Vitamin C Serum and all I receive are compliments of my skin. I have not changed my skin regime since. This moistures my skin very well, leaves it soft and is also delaying any visible signs of aging. BUT, you must be consistent. I have not missed a day/night routine and I truly believe this is what has helped. You cannot test it for a week and expect immediate results. It took about 3 months for my face to clear up and finally glow again but I am so so so glad I did not stop. These creams last me a few months so it's a great price for a great product. I love this moisturizer! I came across it on a YouTube video while looking for hydrating moisturizers. I have combination skin and my skin feels so hydrated after using this. It’s important to note that I pair this with the Laniege hyaluronic revitalizing toner which is also very hydrating. I'm in my mid 30s, workout 2+ hours daily, and needed something that would help with acne, lines, etc. I have very oily skin and living in So. Florida doesn't make it any better. I've tried many products including Estee Lauder, Clinique, Origins, etc. Origins worked well for my face but about a month or so ago I started breaking out horribly on my forehead, cheeks, and chin. I decided to try the Nip + Fab line after reading the reviews and couldn't be more impressed with the results after one use. I noticed my skin was smooth, less lines than before, brighter, the acne cleared up a bit but not completely. I've been using the line for a week now and have received so many compliments. I was having issues with dry patches on my skin due to harsh winter weather and my moisturizers weren't seeming to help at all. I had been exfoliating with a scrub once weekly and that helped somewhat, but I definitely still had texture issues when I was applying makeup. I decided to buy a product with a chemical exfoliant but I didn't want to spend too much money, so I decided on this. It has helped tremendously. I use it about twice weekly because my skin is sensitive, but this combined with the skyn Iceland arctic face oil has really rescued my skin. It is somewhat sticky but that doesn't bother me because I put it on at night before bed and after about 10 minutes I put an oil on top. A lot of these reviews say there's a bad smell but perhaps that was an old formula because it just smells like grapefruit. I think it's a really great value for the money. For reference, I have dry skin that dehydrates easily in winter months. My esthetician told me to throw away my Neutrogena retinol so I decided to give this retinol cream a try. I have been using a pea sized amount all over my face every 3rd night, followed by moisturizer (and of course SPF the following morning) for 3 weeks now. I noticed a bit of flaking at first (yay! because the whole point is cellular turnover) but that went away after the first few uses. My skin has gone from dull and dry to smooth and springy. I got this from March and since then been using it nightly and experienced zero irritation. I can’t speak for fine lines since I’m 18 but I’ve definitely experienced other aspects of retinol benefits with this product. My skin tone’s more even, more “plump and elastic,” been breaking out less, and has smoother texture. As with most if not all retinols, visible results won’t be really seen until more than a month of usage. I’ve finished it recently but I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing because I realized I like the cream version better and it’s also comes with 20 extra mL.
So I just recently started using retinol for the first time in my life. I ain’t gon lie I was actually nervous since I got dry skin and I know that retinol can make your skin dryer. So I did some research and found out that applying your retinol in combination with niacinamide can actually reduce dryness. In this case niacinamide lessens the irritation and dryness caused by retonic acid (which is what retinol turns into when applied to your skin). This means that I may be able to enjoy the benefits of retinol with fewer side effects. I also read a study that showed that niacinamide improves the effects of retinol by increasing the rate of skin cell turnover. This can only happen if your skin is hydrated enough, which niacinamide helps with. The retinol and niacinamide I’m using is from @naturiumskin. I’m pleasantly surprised by this cream. It’s so inexpensive so I didn’t expect much. I bought this cream because I use a lot of products that have glycolic acid or retinol in it. I wanted one moisturizer that didn’t because too much of those ingredients can irritate your skin. I use this at night only. It’s too heavy for daytime use & doesn’t have any spf in it. I slather it on but if you don’t want it too heavy only use a small amount. A little goes a long way. I’ve used this product for a couple of months and I will continue. My face looks and feels soft in the morning. It smells nice and I do think it has helped soften my forehead lines. For reference, I’m in my early 30s, have adult acne, combination skin & fine lines & some wrinkles. It has not made me breakout at all which is awesome.Target customer
I started using filler creams to reduce the fine lines I am getting from aging. I have tried this and the RoC filler. I like this one way better. This one is super moist and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the night. Where as when I use the RoC filler I always feel like I have to use a moisturizer on top. It Works! My Skin Was More Plump And Full And Wrinkles Were Less Noticeable. It Is A Thick Feeling Cream But After About 15min It Is All Soaked In And Skin Feels Soft And Smooth. The Down Side For Me Was My Forhead Was Greasy But I Have A Problem With The T ZONE Being Greasy Anyways. I Would Recommend But For Greasy Face People Like Me Id Recommend Using At Night All Over Face And Chest But In The Am, Not Using On The T Zone But Everywhere Else. I Also Used This Over A Retinol Cream Because I Was Curious If There Would Be A Reaction And I Had None. I Saw A Difference At My First Use. I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. The product I tried out was the Olay Regenerist Whipped Moisturizer SP 25. According to the box, it came with it; it's supposed to not only help moisturize your skin but also help protect it from the sun. My experience with using this product has been pretty great. I have combination skin and tend to have dry spots in random places on my face, but with this moisturizer, they have gotten better. Appearance: Out of the box the moisturizer comes in a cute palm-sized bottle that has a red bottom and a silver lid. The aesthetics are pleasing to the eyes and do make one feel like they are about to use an expensive product. Twisting the lid off the product I found there to be no safety seal, which disappointed me a little because you don't know if the product has been used or not. I took a star off due to this. The consistency and texture of the product are nice and have a whipped feel to them when taken a bit in your hands. It feels rather creamy, not sticky at all. It doesn't leave any residue on your face or leave any oily or sticky sensation. In using this product I like how you don't have to use a lot of it, a little goes a long way, with this moisturizer. I was able to cover both my face and neck with only a single swipe of it. Scent wise there is a very slight scent to it when bringing it up to your face, but that immediately goes away when applied. Now, as far as protecting your skin from the sun I think it does pretty well. In my experience, without applying SPF, every time I go out in the sun and come back in, even if it's for 15 minutes, I have a new freckle. Using this product however, has protected me from this. I probably need a stronger SPF, but this one isn't bad, especially since it's a two-in-one kind of product which is great since it helps save you money, and moisturizes and protects you from the sun. I recommend this product. What I really love about this product is how the jar fits into your palm, it's definitely portable and can hidden in your purse or bag. I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I was excited to try this Olay Regenerist Whip Moisturizer with SPF 25 and to see how well it worked for my aging combination skin. Designed to visibly firm the skin while protecting against Broad Spectrum UVA/UVB rays, this lightweight moisturizer is formulated with Olay's signature Vitamin B3 and Peptide formula. The cream itself is packaged in a vibrant red jar and packed generously with the product. Lightly fragranced, this moisturizer does have a fluffy, whipped type texture which felt immediately soothing and hydrating once applied. It glides onto the skin smoothly and absorbed fairly quickly as well. My skin felt moisturized and supple once the moisturizer sank into my skin. I have used this several times under my makeup while out in the sun and I definitely had a decent amount of sun protection and did not suffer any sunburn or anything during those occasions. I like that it is paraben free, contains no synthetic dyes or phthalates and that it's also dermatologist tested. It was lightweight on my skin and did not leave any greasy or oily residue and my makeup lasted well. Since it does contain sunscreen and is more of a lighter moisturizer, I personally would recommend this more for daytime while using a deeper moisturizer for overnight care. I have always loved Olay products, but the first time I tried the Olay Whip, I definitely was not a fan, there was this pilling effect and it the moisturizer simply formed tiny beads on my skin, which only got worse with makeup on, no matter how long I waited after applying it to doing my makeup. When covid hit and we started having to wear masks, I got crazy clogged pores because my skin would become so dry and my cycle would only make these breakouts worse, that is why I decided to add Olay Regenerist Whip back into my Olay collection. Between the vitamin B3 for hydration and the peptides to help with aging and the fact that I've never had a breakout caused by an Olay product before it was at the top of my list fast as the first to try into my routine. The first thing I noticed about the container was the smooth texture and how easy it was to get a grip on both container and lid for easy opening, the second thing I saw made me squeal, a reusable and very easy to sanitize spill barrier! (earth girl side bar; Sustainable products containers has my heart and soul as well as Olay now. I hope it's as easy to return an empty container as it is to get them in the store!) When I lifted the seal and dipped a finger inside I instantly felt liquid silk just before the wonderful smell hit me, I could not wash my face and put this on fast enough! My husband is also a fan, apparently the other stuff I used previously made me smell like his grandma, thanks for the heads up hun. Changing up my skin care products and started using Olay Regenerist whipped moisturizer is hands up the best idea I've had in the past few years, and my skin has never looked better for it, even with just using it for a few days before work. The first thing I noticed on my face was the feel, it felt smooth and nice going on, didn't cake or pill and it didn't feel heavy. It felt light and airy and the smell honestly adds an extra perk to my step knowing how good I smell if someone were to get close.
