I've been using the WOW Skin Science Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo and Coconut Avocado Conditioner for the past 2 weeks and absolutely love them! I've used apple cider vinegar on my hair so I was intrigued when I saw this shampoo. This shampoo works gently to clear build-up and dandruff on the scalp and nourish hair. It works into a nice lather a little goes a long way. It's left my hair clean, shiny and soft. The WOW Coconut Oil Conditioner is ideal for dry or stressed hair. When I opened the conditioner I exclaimed "WOW this smells fantastic!" It makes me feel like I'm on an island sitting under a palm tree and relaxing. It smells that darn good! I used the WOW products hoping to improve my dandruff issues and detoxify my scalp. The ACV shampoo lathered well, washed out easily, and left a noticeable apple cider vinegar scent. It made my scalp oily and itchy after a day or two. My scalp is not usually oily. My scalp flaked more than usual. I was using it exclusively, but then I began alternating its use with my usual shampoo, which does not make my scalp oily, because I was concerned that the WOW products were too harsh. The conditioner is very thick. I use it on the ends of my hair, not on the scalp. It has a noticeable coconut scent. The labels state there are no sulfates, but the usual sodium lauroyl sulfate is replaced with Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate. I do not know if this is comparatively healthy. It has other chemicals, including sodium benzoate. I did not notice more shine to my hair. These WOW products may not be the best ones for me and my hair concerns. I've been using this for almost a month now to help with oily hair. Maybe I'm impatient but my hair still gets oily and sometimes feels weighed down. However I will say that it has eliminated a lot of dandruff. My scalp isn't as itchy and the dandruff I do get is most likely when I decide to shampoo. I'm going to purchase again to see if maybe I just need to be more patient with how long it takes for the scalp to balance out considering I was a shampoo everyday person. When I first got it, I wasn't sure how to use it or what was it for. But now that I used it for two times I have some thoughts on it. I use this product as a shampoo and it works so well for that! It cleans my hair without making it feel stripped. It also gives a nice volume to my hair. If you don't like how vinegar smells you might not like this product because it has a strong vinegar smell but once you wash your hair, the smell dissipates quickly. I received this in a Birchbox. I use regular apple cider vinegar (aka, ACV), with the "Mother" on a daily basis, mainly for my face, as well as ingesting it, so I figured I would try this in the shower. It is a pre-shampoo. I was surprised when it started to lather. I did not think a rinse would do that. Because it lathered, I thought that maybe I could use it as a shampoo, alone. After rinsing it out, I realized that you can't do that. You can feel the residue buildup of it, still in your hair, so you have to follow with shampoo. Then, I conditioned, as usual. The sample bottle is enough for one-time use. I have to be honest and say that I felt that it built up more than it "rinsed." It contained other ingredients in it, including fragrance. I get better results using ACV mixed with water as an after shampoo and conditioner rinse, once or twice a week. Hair is cleaner and softer. This made it feel more built up and also dry. I know R + Co is a respected brand, so I will try other products. This is just one that I know does not work for my own hair. I love love love the way this makes my hair feel. At college the water is terrible and ruins my hair and this helps to completely. I used it before my spring break vacation to Mexico and I read the back and it said allow for a week because of the acidity and active products in this. I did wait a week, but i used SPF 50 religiously and never had this bad of a sunburn in my life and I have also never burned ever. Be careful and i’d honestly wait even longer, especially if you only wash you hair every other day or longer.
I used this for the first time today. Tried dyi ACV rinses, but I don't know if it worked, let alone the smell. I used this as a rinse in between washes, and my hair is soft, looks/feels/smells clean. Can't even tell I didn't wash it. I absolutely adore this product which is a shampoo substitute. At first, I was a little hesitant about using this product. I mean putting vinegar product on my scalp instead of a shampoo seemed little risky. I usually put apple sider vinegar on my salad but putting on my scalp was intimidating. The ingredients of this product are amazing . When I use this product I was very surprised. It did not irritate my scalp. I did not experience any itching or burning sensation. I was expecting some sort of reaction but it was perfectly OK. The smell isn't the best but it is expected. I am in love with this product ! After using this product, my scalp and hair felt clean and shiny. I have a curly hair and frizzy hair. I wondered whether it would effect my frizz. After using this product, my hair was less frizzy which was suprising. It cleans as good as shampoo. I wouldn't mind switching. No residue left after rinsing. This is a review for the rinse, rather then conditioner because I couldn’t find a listing for it. You apply this as a final step after shampoo and conditioner, leaving it on for 5 or so minutes. It smells extremely strongly of ACV which some may find off putting. It has a runny consistency so it’s easy to apply but also easy to pour too much. Overall I think it did add some extra shine to my hair and helped it to feel a bit sleeker. I like how clean the ingredients are but it probably isn’t something that I would buy in full size.naomi.t

My 9 year old daughter recently started having very oily roots. At first I thought she just wasn’t rinsing her conditioner out well enough because her hair would still look dirty after washing it, but after looking at her scalp she had developed a scaly buildup similar to cradle cap. I used this on her head before she showered and asked her to use the regular Head and Shoulders shampoo afterwards to wash it all out. The combination seems to have broken down the buildup. Of course, breaking it down does create flakes in her hair. I used a fine toothed comb to gently scratch up the loosened flakes and a hair dryer on a low setting to help dry her hair and blow some of the flakes away. Her scalp is already looking much better, though it does look a bit dry now. I have asked her to stop using conditioner the last week or so while I tried to figure out the issue and how to fix it. I am thinking that after the “cradle cap” clears up she can go back to using conditioner and maybe only use this product and the regular Head and Shoulders shampoo once every week or two. Haven’t noticed much difference yet but the ingredients speak for themselves. Apple Cider Vinegar is the 2nd ingredient on the list here so there’s a high concentration of it. I love that it has castor oil as an ingredient – it’s a great source of amino acids, moisture and helps with hair growth. I actually have a bottle of pure apple cider vinegar as well as castor oil in my shower already so to find a product that combines the two is amazing. I don’t know why there’s silicones in this. It definitely makes my hair feel softer but I do wish it didn’t have it in here, as I try to avoid silicones. Other than that, I love the way the product is dispensed from a tiny spout. It makes it so easy to apply and target certain areas. As I said, I haven’t noticed much difference yet, but the ingredients don’t lie – so I’ll continue using this. I was definitely one of the best candidates to try out this ACV rinse because I have platinum blonde hair with a neon green front portion and this rinse is said to color protectant, which no other rinse that I know of, is. They all strip color off your hair. I also actually tried this out on week old dirty hair. I just had eye surgery a week prior and was not allowed to wash my hair yet. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by this rinse. It did in fact clean my scalp, rather well, whilst not drying it out like other hair and scalp rinses do. It also did not strip the neon green from my platinum hair, which is also very easy to do. So as far as their claims of cleansing the scalp from impurities whilst protecting color treated hair goes, they are 100% accurate. As for scent, I was honestly hoping for some form of good scent from this product, but it smelled very mild and I didn't really get any hints of ACV or anything of the sort. Not quite sure how to explain the scent even. However it didn't entice me. Did smell very organic though. If that makes sense. The consistency is also that of water. Not a gel or anything like I expected. Overall, it's a great product to use for people who want to cleanse their scalps and not strip the color off their hair. I have yet to find any other scalp cleaners that will do both of those things. Not too crazy about the price of it, but I will say this, I have pretty long hair and I only used a little portion of the bottle on all of my hair. So it will last at least 20 washes. I have been on a journey in my haircare routine where I really do try to not to wash it everyday. I've used different dry shampoos that have really allowed me to do that. Unfortunately, various circumstances have led me to wanting to wash my hair everyday (working in a hospital during a pandemic, sweating a lot more during workouts, etc.). Before, I would just rinse with water and then spray with leave-in conditioner. However, this inclusion has really helped. The rinse really does allow me to get any dirt/grime in my hair without drying it. I still spray a leave in-conditioner afterwards. I love the packaging because it's super easy to disperse over your scalp. The biggest con for me is the smell. It doesn't smell great which is why I knocked off a star. However, I will say that 1) apple cider vinegar never smells good so it's not like I expected it to be like a perfume lol and 2) it does not linger. After rinsing it out, my hair doesn't smell like this. It doesn't smell amazing, but it doesn't smell like ACV afterwards. The other thing is that I always spray down with a leave-in conditioner afterward anyways so it helps mask any smell there might be. They can be rather harsh, so when I came across this product 4 years ago, I had to try it. It never disappoints. It cuts through sweat, oil, and product. It leaves my cranky, sometimes itchy scalp calm and happy. It is a one-step process that is gentle enough that even with highlighted hair, I don't need a conditioner afterward. Tip: run the nozzle from hairline to crown as if you were parting your hair at different intervals, then do the same at the temples. Usually that deposits enough to massage through the hair. I got this as a sample with purchase and surprisingly the sample was quite large and enough for 4 treatments. I loved the hydration and shine it provided! The first time I used it from root to tip and it just weighed it down. since then I've only used it from my ears down and it has worked much better and adds some bounce to my hair. I was definitely one of the best candidates to try out this ACV rinse because I have platinum blonde hair with a neon green front portion and this rinse is said to color protectant, which no other rinse that I know of, is. They all strip color off your hair. I also actually tried this out on week old dirty hair. I just had eye surgery a week prior and was not allowed to wash my hair yet. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by this rinse. It did in fact clean my scalp, rather well, whilst not drying it out like other hair and scalp rinses do. It also did not strip the neon green from my platinum hair, which is also very easy to do. So as far as their claims of cleansing the scalp from impurities whilst protecting color treated hair goes, they are 100% accurate. As for scent, I was honestly hoping for some form of good scent from this product, but it smelled very mild and I didn't really get any hints of ACV or anything of the sort. Not quite sure how to explain the scent even. However it didn't entice me. Did smell very organic though. If that makes sense. The consistency is also that of water. Not a gel or anything like I expected. Overall, it's a great product to use for people who want to cleanse their scalps and not strip the color off their hair. I have yet to find any other scalp cleaners that will do both of those things. Not too crazy about the price of it, but I will say this, I have pretty long hair and I only used a little portion of the bottle on all of my hair. So it will last at least 20 washes. *disclaimer – I received this complementary product for testing & review purposes* I LOVE this product. I have been on a journey in my haircare routine where I really do try to not to wash it everyday. I've used different dry shampoos that have really allowed me to do that. Unfortunately, various circumstances have led me to wanting to wash my hair everyday (working in a hospital during a pandemic, sweating a lot more during workouts, etc.). Before, I would just rinse with water and then spray with leave-in conditioner. However, this inclusion has really helped. The rinse really does allow me to get any dirt/grime in my hair without drying it. I still spray a leave in-conditioner afterwards. I love the packaging because it's super easy to disperse over your scalp. The biggest con for me is the smell. It doesn't smell great which is why I knocked off a star. However, I will say that 1) apple cider vinegar never smells good so it's not like I expected it to be like a perfume lol and 2) it does not linger. After rinsing it out, my hair doesn't smell like this. It doesn't smell amazing, but it doesn't smell like ACV afterwards. The other thing is that I always spray down with a leave-in conditioner afterward anyways so it helps mask any smell there might be. Overall, this really is worth trying, especially if you're super oily and dry shampoos aren't cutting it! I have thick hair and a sensitive scalp, and in spite of using a water filter and sulfate-free products, from time to time I need to do an ACV rinse. They can be rather harsh, so when I came across this product 4 years ago, I had to try it. It never disappoints. It cuts through sweat, oil, and product. It leaves my cranky, sometimes itchy scalp calm and happy. It is a one-step process that is gentle enough that even with highlighted hair, I don't need a conditioner afterward. Tip: run the nozzle from hairline to crown as if you were parting your hair at different intervals, then do the same at the temples. Usually that deposits enough to massage through the hair. Just to preface: I have tightly textured, dense, low porosity hair. Some may say type 4A/B or even 4C. I don't wash my hair very often because it irritates my oily scalp. I don't use product because it builds up tremendously leaving a gray cast on my hair. My scalp makes too much natural oils for product. When I learned this I stopped using leave-ins and stylers and stopped over washing. Even with these changes I still get build up due to once again high sebum production and low porosity. I already use oil for cleansing my face and have gotten the best results clearing up my oily skin using this method. I figured if it works well for my skin it would work for my hair and scalp. I was a little nervous to buy this because it contains Shea butter, which always weighs my hair down. I’ve been dealing with an itchy scalp for the past few years and the only thing that has helped was OGX tea tree shampoo, but I didn’t like how it made my hair feel, and I wanted something that was better for my wavy hair. I have 2A/2B low-porosity hair. This shampoo comes out as a runny liquid so I use the tip to apply it directly to my head. It doesn’t sud up as much as a normal shampoo, but it still produces suds. After rinsing it out, my hair feels very moisturized healthy, and my scalp feels extremely soothed. I 100% recommend this shampoo! I have reddish brown hair that has waves. The kind you can't just let air dry because it looks like you slept in it and it looks neither straight nor wavy. I live in a high humidity area and not even my Redkin was solving my frizz problem. I tried my daughter's Ouidad and loved it… but I can't afford to use that every day. Plus, my daughter needs a very deep conditioner (and Ouidad has been working for her) and I don't. I wanted something affordable that worked for me. I wash my hair with a moisturizing conditioner, squeeze out the water and then apply this to my hair… medium amount. I twist it up in a clip while I finish my shower and then rinse out. It has been wonderful. Has reduced my frizzing like nothing else (except the Ouidad- which, again, is not in my happy zone price wise). I love it. I use it as an every day conditioner. I have been on the hunt for the best shampoo and conditioner for years. I have a very sensitive scalp that gets very dry and itchy. It also gets super oily, within the same day as washing. When I first tried this conditioner, I didn't think it was hydrating enough for my hair. The second time I tried it, my hair was so soft and helped detangle what is usually a rats nest. First off – I never write reviews. I was hesitant since this was a new product and I didn't see any reviews yet. Decided to get the Hemp & ACV shampoo & conditioner. I've previously tried the other Acure shampoos and conditioners and have LOVED them but they are always sold out! I was so happy to find a shampoo that contained apple cider vinegar! I used apple cider vinegar because it worked particularly well to clarify my oily hair, but of course the scent of ACV was off putting. This shampoo does the same job, it left my hair squeaky clean and shiny. You definitely need to use a conditioner after using this shampoo and you definitely shouldn't use this daily as it can be overly stripping. I've been using Fekkai since 2009/2010 (my Korean mom was very into hair care and encouraged me to use the best products). Now I'm in my early 30's. I've tried many other hair care brands over the years, but in my opinion, Fekkai is probably one of the best. I used to use the old Apple Cider shampoo back in the day and was very sad when it was discontinued. But when they brought it back, I was so happy! And I think this is one of the first times the new version is better than the old! I use this once or twice a month to deep cleanse my scalp and hair from any buildup. I've tried so many different products for my scalp. I thought I had dandruff so I was trying so many different products. I tried JVN after seeing a tik tok and it didn't help me get rid of the flakes. I tried an Aveda shampoo and it didn't help with anything. THIS shampoo helped with the buildup of not washing your hair for a few days, and I also saw the least amount of flakes I've had in my hair for years. I love the detangling conditioner too because I don't need a lot, and it does the job. After, I go in and apply leave in conditioner so my hair feels sleek and smooth. I bought this product because of great reviews & to cleanse the hard water deposit buildup from my hair. I had waist length very thick very curly hair. I used the product & the very next morning, the entire right side of my hair was a tightly matted ball. I spent hours trying to untangle it. A friend spent hours more. We did get almost half out. Ultimately I had to go to a salon. I was told it had to be cut. The worst part was close to my scalp. I finally went to salon that specialized in locs. Two professionals, working simultaneously spent hours more, They actually had to use a razor. I lost over half of the volume of my hair. The pain to my scalp was excruciating. It cost almost $200 in product & paying the professionals. My head is still very sore. This has been devastating to me.Elena
I looked up this product before purchasing it and saw all of the great reviews, so I bought it. Big mistake! I should have looked at the lower ratings because this product was horrible for my hair. I noticed after I applied the shampoo that my hair felt pretty dry, even while in the shower. I figured the conditioner would put some moisture back in my hair, but I was wrong. I usually leave the conditioner in my hair and glide through it with a wide tooth comb to evenly distribute it while I wait 5 minutes or so… I had to turn the water off and rake through my wet hair for 10+ minutes! Clumps of hair was coming out & no matter how much conditioner I applied, my hair remained tough to comb through (strands of my hair had matted together!). After finishing, I decided to do a deep conditioning to try and fix the dryness. NOPE! Even after deep conditioning, adding my leave in conditioner and hair oil (my usual routine) my hair is extremely brittle. It's actually painful to brush and comb my hair. After I get through a section of my hair and move to another section, the hair just drys right back up and is as difficult to get through as it was originally.
