I've been using Sea Breeze since I was a teenager. They have a sensitive skin formula, which is great for those with sensitive skin. I wash my face, then get a cotton round, pour Sea Breeze on swipe across my face neck. You wouldn't believe how much oil dirt comes off, even after you wash! I have mixed reviews about this product. The first day I used it, it immediately removed some pimples from my face. My first impression was "Wow." However, you do feel a burning sensation even though its supposed to be alcohol free. So I definitely would NOT recommend using this product or any other Thayers face toners everyday as a toner. After purchasing, I read that witch hazel has a drying effect and seen some results of people using Thayers everyday for 2 yrs and trust me it's best to heed the warnings beforehand. According to healthline, face toners do NOT have to be implemented in your daily facial care routine. What's a must is to Cleanse in the morning and evening, Moisturize in the morning and evening, and Apply SPF throughout the day. But if your looking for a toner to add in, try looking for a hydrating toner so it can add moisure into your face and not rmake your face dry. The conclusion: simple is best! Thayers blemish clearing is an effective product but use with caution, especially on your face. It can deplete your skin of the much needed moisure and have lighter skinned people looking like an apple. Toners are not really needed but if you want one, go hydrating. Water is the key to brighter skin! Clean your face well and drink lots of water. Use thayers for an occasional breakout but definitely not as a daily toner. I received this product complimentary from Topbox to review. I have to be honest I was really nervous to try this product and the word "astringent" was the main offender. I have combo oily sensitive and the thing that my skin seems to dislike the most is astringent. Astringents and acidic toners really irritate my skin to the point where I get a slight burning feeling for hours. I am pleased to report that I didn't have that experience with this product, The Effaclar Astringent Lotion was really gentle on my skin. It almost felt like water. After the first use, my skin looked and felt hydrated. One of the claims of the product was that it reduces the appearance of pores and removes blockages. I didn't get any breakouts while using this product (which is always a good thing), but I also didn't notice any differences in my pore size. The pores around my nose and chin are the most noticeable and they appeared the same size after several days of use. That being said I still like this product. It's gentle and I felt that helped to keep my pores clean. I've been using this product for two weeks now to get a good test out of it for this review, I absolutely love it and would buy more. It's definitely effective, gets all the dirt and oils off my face for a clean base. There's no strong fragrance to it which makes me trust it to put it on my face considering I do have occasional breakouts. I love this astringent. It's the only thing that makes my face feel clean. Unfortunately for some reason they've stopped carrying this in my local Walmarts. I purchase this for my son who has acne. He uses the clean and Clear astringent after he washes his face with a prescription cleanser. The cleaner does an excellent job of getting any lingering dirt off his face. Astringent does not sting and it does not dry out his skin. It must be noted that his skin is naturally very oily. The store is always out of stock so I order online. This is the 2nd witch hazel toner that I tried. Any witch hazel toner that had alcohol is going to be quite drying to the skin. It is also going to have a strong smell. I thought this would smell a bit better than the first one I tried but it didnât and with daily use it dries my skin out way too much. I havenât used it for any thing else but as a facial toner, but I honestly wonât be buying it again. I have sensitive, dry-to-very-dry, acne prone skin. I also suffer with seborrheic dermatitis as well. So, I wouldnât recommend anyone with my skin this use any toner with alcohol in it on a regular basis on your face. If you have oily or very oily skin and your skin is acne prone too and Thayerâs Unscented, Alcohol Free Witch Hazel Toner (which I currently use) is not sold locally around you and you donât care to order it from online, then you can give this product a try. I'm a sufferer of bad skin – not bad all-over acne, but enough to be really bothersome so I went for this one. I already used the herbal moisturiser which I love and thought this would be a great addition to get my skin under control. Unfortunately it was too strong for my skin to be using this with the combination of the gentle facial wash and the other creams I use (all from Kiehls). I'm super sensitive though. I found when I washed my face first it dried my skin out too much adding this on top. What I do now, is I either use this when I don't wash my face in the shower first (I don't find it too much) or I was my face and skip this toner. Never both. I bought this after I saw it recommended in a Dr. Dray video and it did not disappoint, actually this is my second one. I use it as a body wash for my back since it is prone to acne, in my tights for the keratosis pilaris, on my armpits to kill the bacteria that makes the bad smell and clean off really god the pasty layer of deodorant, as well as my face for black heads or possible breakouts. It works wonders, is multifunctional, and it is a very cheap, effective alternative to the Paula's Choice 2% bha cleanser. I bought this after deciding that I wanted to start a new skin care regime. I've always washed my face, and used toners and makeup, but recently decided I needed to start moisturizing and discontinue to the use of very strong hydrogen peroxide cleansers in order to let my face be at it's best. I've suffered from acne for years. I am now 32 yrs old and believe a lot of it was caused by my poor knowledge of how to cleanse. I started out double cleansing with the Boscia oil cleanser and bought this as my second cleanse. I've used the alba acnedote peel mask before and liked that the ingredients in the alba line are botanical and natural. This has a very light scent that's hard to define, it's definitely not strong and maybe can be described as a bright, citrus scent. It's a thin, runny cleanser and did arrive from Amazon with some of it leaking and coating the outside but I just rinsed it and that was that. This does foam up, which I love, and does an effective job at removing makeup and oil without being harsh. It's NOT supposed to be eaten, but while washing if a bit gets on your lips which tends to happen, it tastes like citrus. Which tells me it does have a high content of botanical plant based ingredients. Of course I didn't mean to taste it but there ya go. I have it on auto delivery once per month now because it takes me about a month to use up and I'm using this as my regular cleanser now. You must needn't use a lot and sometimes too much comes out of the bottle but if you're aware before using it that can be avoided. My new go to! My face has cleared up considerably using the ordinary squalane cleanser as the first cleanse, the alba as the second, followed by the ordinary glycolic acid toner, and topped off with a bit of the ordinary moisturizing factors. I do not use a sunscreen and i know that will horrify most skincare junkies but there is a sunscreen in my foundation and I wear it everyday. I still have a long way to go with my skincare routine and perfecting it but the alba is here to stay. My face literally feels squeaky clean but not taut and dried out from harsh ingredients. I have been wanting to try products from the brand Alba Botanica so I did get three different ones including this deep pore wash. I wanted this face wash because I have obscenely large pores and I wanted products that would help me out with that issue. This is a thin gel like consistency that has salicylic acid and willow bark extract in the formula. It is a very strong cleanser so I only use it twice a week otherwise I worry it would dry my skin out. But since I use it only twice a week it leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and clean afterwards. I feel like it has helped clean out my pores more than a regular facial cleanser. I like using a good facial scrub at least 2 times a week to help get rid of dead skin. And this scrub works amazing at getting all the old skin off my face. Only thing I didn't like about this product is the applicator. It looks like you use it to help scrub your face and I tried it both with and without and the directions weren't too clear so if you are supposed to use the applicator to scrub as well I don't recommend this product because it's super stiff and hurts. This is the BEST and you have to try it if you're not already using it. You'll be hooked. I have fair, combination problem/sensitive skin for reference and in my mid 30's. My entire life I've battled oily, and dry patches with monthly cystic like acne. That time of the month really throws off my face. I've tried all the products promising to balance my skin and moisturize my combo skin and none have done what this does. I recently received this Alba Botanica Even and Bright Enzyme Scrub. There is a scrubber attached to the top and the enzyme scrub product comes directly out of a hole in the center of the scrubber. I am not a fan of this for my personal hygienic preferences. I would prefer if the scrubber was separate from the face product. I actually preferred using my hands instead of the scrubber. I am not a fan of the scent of this enzyme scrub; it was too strong for my preferences. I bought this because I've been through a few bottles of the Paula's Choice 2% BHA and wanted to find something same-same-but-different. So far, I strongly prefer this!! My least favorite thing about the PC product is how much of a residue there is, I'd compare the feeling to that of a body dry oil. It's so present that my normal-dry skin can forgo moisturizer afterwards in the summertime. The Farmacy product is just like a standard watery toner, so there's absolutely zero residue, which I LOVE. It also smells really nice (kind of like a herbal papaya? but not exactly sweet/fruity) even though it doesn't have added fragrance. As for effects, I wasn't sure this product was actually doing anything until a couple of days ago where I laid off for a few days in preparation for a once-in-a-while AHA/BHA mask. Let's just say it was obvious that the product was keeping sebaceous filaments and blackheads at bay. Since resuming using it again, they're gone again. My one problem with this product is that it is so watery that a cotton pad is really kind of necessary, and I'm someone who likes to use my hands for all of my skincare steps so that I don't waste product. As such, I feel like I'm going through the bottle rather fast. To mitigate this I've been using the cotton pad on my chest, KP areas, and even behind my ears so that it goes as far as possible. This toner has changed my skin. I have bought it 3 or 4 times now and I can safely say it has improved my skin a lot. I used to have lots of little bumps all over my forehead and this has cleared most of them away. The toner is quite expensive so I prefer to tap it directly onto my skin and rub it in rather than waste it on a cotton pad. I actually use another less expensive toner first and put that on a cotton pad and to remove any debris, then I use this on top so it can really sink into the skin. I think this toner works really well because this brand is doesn't add nasty chemicals into their formulas. It also smells lovely and the packing is gorgeous. I always feel good when I used it. At first I liked this toner, it felt refreshing and my pores did look smaller. But after a couple weeks I started noticing a lot of dry scaly patches and my skin just looked… dull. Then the pimples came, one after another. I thought it was hormones at first, I didn't put 2 and 2 together that it was the toner until I checked the reviews and saw a bunch of other people complaining of breakouts too. I'm discontinuing use immediately. Yikes, my face hasn't looked this bad since puberty. I have no idea what's in this that makes me break out so bad, maybe the sodium, maybe all the alcohol just dried my skin out so bad that it formed a 'crust' and trapped all the natural oils underneath, I dunno but it's bad. I am a skin care junkie who is always buying new skin care online. I had been using the Neutrogena stress control simply because i wanted salicylic acid to balance the oil on my t-zone. I purchased the Paula's Choice 2% BHA exfoliant toner and it worked good. Its watery but kind of feels like an oily water. I do not use cotton rounds to apply skin care, even toner. I apply everything with my hands and pat into my skin. Even watery skin products i apply with my hands. This is the best toner out there and when comparing ingredients with a $35 bottle of Paula's Choice toner i was blown away at Neutrogena having the exact same ingredients, but MORE exfoliating ingredients ( glycolic acid) and also soothing aloe vera and witch hazel. I am prone to a bump here or there but this toner has not one time broke me out nor irritated my sensitive skin. My son has very sensitive skin and was prone to acne, but most acne medications dried his skin up way to much. I always use witch Hazel after cleansing my face, to remove any left over residue. So I thought, hmmm I wonder if it would help him? So to make it easier and less âgirl productâ, I bought a screw top reusable plastic container (the one in the photo is by Ziploc) and loaded it with a package of cotton rounds. If you notice in the photo, I separated them and then arranged them slightly overlapping each one. This helps to remove one each time. I then liberally pour the witch Hazel onto the pads. As they soak up the liquid, you can usually get the rest of the single sleeve in there. Make sure they are soaked through. But not leaving a puddle in the bottom of the container. Now they are great cleansing pads, but without the salicylic or benzoyl acids, that dry out the skin. The witch Hazel pads remove any left over soaps or cleansers, excess oil from sweating etc, and really do help your skin at the same time. My son can now quickly use these pads in the morning before school, after school and before bed without his skin drying, and now his skin looks and feels great.andi.b
This product has delighted me, and I think I will stay a loyal user of it for a long time. The packaging is enormous; even though I use it daily, it wears off very slowly. The product is extremely gentle on my skin and leaves no traces of dryness. By the way, my skin is oily, but it gets dehydrated quickly and is very demanding. The pores on the face are smaller and tighter after using this product for longer. My face feels fresh and clean after using it. I use it after washing and cleansing my face in the morning and at night. My only complaint is the product's smell, but luckily, it's not intense or unpleasant. I use this after I wash my face. It is the best astringent that I've ever used. It clears up my acne in just a couple of days. The only thing I don't like about it is that it burns my face sometimes. It's actually just a really cold "breezy" feeling that can also feel little burn. I use this about 3 or 4 days a week and use regular toner on the other days to switch it up.jennifer .r
At first I really loved this product, used it everyday and it was working perfectly. Though throughout the days iâve noticed this product makes you BREAK OUT, and yes I know acne products usually purge before acutally working but this one never stops the purging phase. Especially if you have sensitive and sometimes dry skin, I have eczema around my nose to mouth area and this product literally BURNT my skin leaving a red rash. This product overall has made my face looks rough and unclean. What I recommend for this product is not using it everyday, but around twice a week to âpurgeâ the acne under your skin. This was my first time using this brand. I think this is the best one that I have tried. Having very sensitive skin makes it hard for me to use certain products. I use witch hazel mostly on my face. Brands would help and hurt me at the same time. It would help with my very oily skin but also cause breakouts. When I got to this brand. I have used it and there was no break outs. In Brazil itâs not so common to have products made with witch Hazel, so I never had felt this smell before. First time I opened this bottle I felt nauseating , itâs a awful weird smell! I applied on my face and though I canât use this! But I insisted and realized that after apply it took just some minutes for the smell start to desapear, and I kinda got used to. It doesnât remove makeup, but itâs a very good cleaner, and besides have 14% of alcohol on its composition, it doesnât dry the skin. But I felt very happy about discover that is good for dandruff!! I have a pretty tough one to control, and lately just corticosteroids are doing the job. I've been using Sea Breeze since I was a teenager. They have a sensitive skin formula, which is great for those with sensitive skin. I wash my face, then get a cotton round, pour Sea Breeze on swipe across my face neck. You wouldn't believe how much oil dirt comes off, even after you wash! It has a slight tingly feeling you feel so clean refreshed afterwards. I follow up with moisturizer, so my skin doesn't dry out. Highly recommend it's around $5, so it's not expensive.stacey.m

I have been using this toner for nearly 2 years. The moment I first used it my skin looked more hydrated and glowy. My acne was clearing up. I have used it every single morning and sometimes at night. My skin was literally the clearest it's ever been. Even if i did break out, this toner would clear it up in a couple days. I only use cerave foaming cleanser (nights only), followed by this toner, a hyaluronic acid serum, and vanicream moisturizer. Nothing changed in my routine except for when I picked up a new snail rescue toner. The packaging and ingredients slightly changed but I didn't think anything of it. Then my skin started breaking out all over. I continued my same old routine thinking it would pass. The entire month of September my skin was breaking out!! I even used extra snail toner to try and calm it down. Until I realized that it was the culprit. Whatever was changed in the formula does not agree with my skin? I stopped using it and my skin is clearing up. I'm highly disappointed because this product was holy grail to me.Maddie

I was super excited to try this toner as I have been trying to incorporate snail mucin into my routine due to my winter dryness! However, I am nearly finished with the bottle and there honestly has been no difference in my skin tone or texture. Personally, I enjoy using more of a watery toner. This toner is slightly thick upon application. Although it does absorb quickly, I felt that even after my first use, my skin was left feeling even more dry. I use this toner every single day, AM and PM, and I was still noticing my skin starting to flake/dry out after usage. I'm not sure if it's just my winter skin acting up, but for this product being 97% snail mucin, I was expecting a lot more hydration! I love this product! I use it almost every day to clean my skin before any application. It works great to remove makeup and any harshness left on my skin! This product is good for the pores and removes most of the excess oil that my face creates. I have awful combination skin, especially around my nose. I also hear that witch hazel can reduce varicose veins so might start applying this product to my legs to see if this is true or not. You never know! I have found that this product is just great for my skin. No harshness or issues.
I love this facial toner for my skin. I like how itâs not oily, not overpowering, doesnât irritate the skin. Very good product for sensitive skin. I also love after my face is done from wash, when I put it on my cotton ball and lather on my face, it makes my skin feel so fresh, awake and a glow. It really isn't bad as far as witch hazel goes. Personally I don't like the smell of unscented witch hazel so I would add some lavender or rose to it if I were going to buy it. My only real issue with it is the price. I've bought other brands of witch hazel (unscented & scented) for up to $4 less. I'm not sure "organic" makes this worth $4 more. But I may try one of their scented variations before making up my mind!
