I spent some time reading these reviews and folks that do not like them need to consider how many times they flush the toilet (big families) and what they are advertised to do. Also look at the ease of use. I have tried every brand/scent on the market and prefer these. I use them in both bathrooms and the one in the most used bathroom does not last as long as the one in the bathroom I use. They do not advertise them to replace weekly cleaning of the toilet. They are for fresh scent (a must when I have my grandsons here for a visit) and to "help" with reducing ring around the water line. Also, some folks place it under the water and that is wrong. First, read the instructions! I use them as advertised and they last at least 10 days, are the easest on the market to use, have a great scent. The Click Gels are really handy & do help keep things clean and fresh smelling in between deep cleans. The scent is nice. It's not an overpowering smell, which I appreciate. I do wish the scent lasted a bit longer. I can't really smell it beyond the first couple of days. The fact that the applicator is disposable is kind of a double edged sword. I hate how much extra trash I'm contributing, but at the same time the product I used before required that I store the applicator and reuse it. That kind of seemed gross to me. I don't really want things in my bathroom cabinets that have been inside the toilet bowl. I think I like the fully disposable applicator of the Lysol Click Gels better. I do wish these came in a larger quantity per box. We have three toilets in the house, so a six pack will last us about 2 weeks or we have to keep a box in each bathroom which takes up much needed space. I bought a Glacier Bay flapperless stool about two years ago. I have installed hundreds of the fluidmaster 400's and other fluidmaster ballcocks in my 50 plus years as a apprentice, journeyman, and master plumber, so I was happy to see the fill valve in the Glacier Bay flapperless stool. Having had extremely good service from the ones installed in customers homes in an area that is noted for hard water(the norm there is 21 grains, 7 is considered hard). I didn't worry that this one was horizontal rather than vertical. What I got was a valve that failed on me in about 6 months, by not shutting off completely. I bought a repair kit and rebuilt it, it lasted about 2 months. I bought a replacement head and installed it. I kept an eye on it found it leaking in about 3 months called fluidmaster, they said they hadn't found a cure for it, asked if the water was hard. Water here has a maximum of 3 grains of hardness, so it's soft. The head I bought at that time lasted about 3 months. I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly then reassembled it. It still leaked. I totally disassembled it and inverted the entire valve body. This lasted about 4 months. I am quitting the repairs. going to replace it with a dual flush.Retired Plumber

The instructions should be printed in a larger font with larger diagrams. For example, you have to figure out from the figure that the roller thingy on the supply tube should be roller side up. There are some real problems with a few of the parts: (1) I never could get the tank tight enough to make it straight up and without wobble. So I used the U-gasket from my old American Standard installation. Worked great first time. No leaks. (2) Using small hex nuts for the tank bolts doesn't work for me. Try finding a wrench that will work. Instead of hex head nuts my old installation used wing nuts. So I used those. MUCH easier tightening. (3) Instructions recommend using their supply line. I don't know anything about it, but I used my existing metal-braided line and it worked just fine. All flexible supply lines in your home should be metal-braided. (4) Why they even include that cheapo plastic handle is unknown to me. If your existing is metal, save and use it. The provided roller clamp was a surprisingly helpful little feature to save some water. Once I turned the water on there were no leaks anywhere. I adjusted the roller clamp to ensure the proper water level in the bowl. All done. After making the above-noted adjustments to the installation procedure, everything is working well.Glad it's over

after 10 years of using bleach tablets in TANK and one replacement of tank hardware we had a leak while on vacation. Chlorine eats away at washers and bolts. I had replaced all hardware and seals once with the red korky which are the most resistant but I still got a leak due to corrosion of bolt. All toilets now on this system. No bleach ever in tank, only goes to bowl which is porcelain and not susceptible to chlorine problems. $5k lesson learned. For any that say they tried and didn't see any bleach in bowl just give it a chance. Water between flushes sits in device and absorbs the bleach. If you just install and flush straight away you won't notice any bleach. Thats how it works and it does work.Ken

It seems I cannot get over this little product. Amazing and then some. Can't understand any negative regarding how simple and easy this product is to use. Best of all — IT WORKS. I've tried several and they're doing the greatest keeping the bowl sparkling. Yes the sent is light no matter the fragrance or color. The key thing they work. A lighter scent is acceptable for several reasons. If a bathroom is small the sent would overpower. As is; I can freshen the room without conflict. Thoughtful, but horribly designed product. It smells great, but the heart shaped scent tablet falls off of the plastic hook after only a few days, and that has happened a few times. I imagine the sewer system near our house smells fantastic. Also this last time, the water of the flush took the whole thing, hook and all down the drain. I haven’t been able to use my bathroom for a week. I even bought a professional toilet snake and it still hasn’t shown up. I couldn't believe my eyes honestly. I have well water and get horrible orange stains all over with every shower we take. I usually spray like scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner and then have to scrub away the stains for 45 minutes with a little brillo steel pad and that was so painful to do every week. This thing really keeps the toilet bowl smelling fresh. We have a bathroom in the basement that doesn't get used much. Over time the toilet bowl would develop an odor from not being used and getting stale. NOT any longer. Only to find that it had turned into a giant gelatinous glob of goo in the the back of our tanks. We used a stir stick to dislodge it from the bottom and flushed a bunch of times…then we discovered that it had eaten away/dissolved our gaskets/valves. I only used this kind of tablet because my store was sold out of the regular bleach tablets…I had no problems with the regular kind so I guess I’ll go back to using that after we replace our gaskets/valves.Julskies

Horrible! Ruins toilet and leaves a disgusting moldy mess. I honestly don’t know how these are still on the market. How did they pass quality control?! First, as another reviewer noted, it leaves a blue ring/residue in toilet bowl that is impossible to remove no matter how hard you scrub. The real nightmare though is the MOLD! After a couple weeks of the tablet being in the tank, as the blue from the toilet water started fading away, we started noticing weird flecks of a gray/smokey looking substance. Upon opening the tank to investigate, we realized it was black mold. The tank water and the rim/sides of the tank had gobs of thick black mold. We had to dump the tank water and clean out with plain bleach, which thankfully cleared up most of the problem, but it can’t be healthy to have that kind of mold in an enclosed space like our small bathrooms (it happened in both of our bathrooms/toilets), and it ruined our toilet bowls (both of which were fairly new). This product was half blue and white in color. When I dropped it into the tank the entire commode turned a deep shade of blue with deep blue streaks running into the bowl. After one day, I scooped it out with a spoon and it was just a glob of dark blue mass. Now I have an extra challenge to remove the blue streaks out of my toilet. I bought this product at a Lowe's store. It contained 4 tablets and it costs nearly $12.00. I have 3 toilets in my house that have horrible dark blue streaks and stains. These are the only cling bowl cleaners that have a scent that doesn't bother me. I've tried those Scrubbing Bubbles clings/stamps and just something about the scent they use to cover up the cleanser's scent really turns me off. So, if you have a sensitive nose, I'd give this a shot. I got these on a whim to the store. The scent is just a fresh scent. Sort of like a general, clean, ocean smell. To use, you break the tab an slide onto the side of toilet where the water is at the highest level. My water level in my toilet never quite reaches it until its flushed, but the smell does radiate through the bathroom for a fresher scent and deodorizer which is nice. They do last for several weeks. I would say about two months. The only downside is that they do drip some color on the side of the toilet bowl, which is no big deal. It doesnt stain and can easily be wiped off with a toilet brush. And eventually it just fall off and is flushed down the toilet when it gets to be too small for its plastic holder.alicia.h

Purchased this item for the first time since I love Soft Scrub. The packaging caught my eye and given the product "Soft Scrub" name I figured I could not go wrong. I followed the instructions which are easy to understand, the only complaint is the water never turned blue as the packaging states. I never had one day not to mention the packaging states "Blue Water for up to 16 weeks". I still cleaned the inside of the toilet as it too did not do as the packaging stated. Live and learn. I agree with other reviews about this product not being very good. When the water stopped being as “blue” I figured I probably needed to put a new tablet in the tank. Only to find that it had turned into a giant gelatinous glob of goo in the the back of our tanks. We used a stir stick to dislodge it from the bottom and flushed a bunch of times…then we discovered that it had eaten away/dissolved our gaskets/valves. I only used this kind of tablet because my store was sold out of the regular bleach tablets…I had no problems with the regular kind so I guess I’ll go back to using that after we replace our gaskets/valves.Julskies

Horrible! Ruins toilet and leaves a disgusting moldy mess. I honestly don’t know how these are still on the market. How did they pass quality control?! First, as another reviewer noted, it leaves a blue ring/residue in toilet bowl that is impossible to remove no matter how hard you scrub. The real nightmare though is the MOLD! After a couple weeks of the tablet being in the tank, as the blue from the toilet water started fading away, we started noticing weird flecks of a gray/smokey looking substance. Upon opening the tank to investigate, we realized it was black mold. The tank water and the rim/sides of the tank had gobs of thick black mold. We had to dump the tank water and clean out with plain bleach, which thankfully cleared up most of the problem, but it can’t be healthy to have that kind of mold in an enclosed space like our small bathrooms (it happened in both of our bathrooms/toilets), and it ruined our toilet bowls (both of which were fairly new). I looked online and found there have been tons of similar reviews stating the same, and dating back a few years! How are they still selling this stuff?! Stay away from it, DO NOT BUY.Jemmalove

This product was half blue and white in color. When I dropped it into the tank the entire commode turned a deep shade of blue with deep blue streaks running into the bowl. After one day, I scooped it out with a spoon and it was just a glob of dark blue mass. Now I have an extra challenge to remove the blue streaks out of my toilet. I bought this product at a Lowe's store. It contained 4 tablets and it costs nearly $12.00. I have 3 toilets in my house that have horrible dark blue streaks and stains. I was sent one Blue Liquid Ty-D-Bol by the TryIt Sampling Community to test and review. I can't say I totally hate this product BUT it just didn't last long enough for me, which makes me wonder if it distributes unevenly after insertion?! You also have to have a certain shape toilet and a certain level of water to make it work properly. Luckily mine was fine but I can see this being an issue. I felt like the scent was fresh, while making the bowl appear cleaner between washings. Perhaps this is due to the blue coloring?! I received the Ty-D-Bol Blue Liquid. This product is amazing to fight hard water stains and buildup. Which every toilet is bound to get. The set up is quick and easy. This is a great toilet cleaner from a reliable brand. It was very easy to install. I live out in the country and have well water that likes to turn my toilet bowl brown. I cleaned my bowl before installing this and in a few days however it seems to be keeping the bowl clean. Each flush it dispenses the right amount of liquid into the bowl. Bad product. There are 2 tablets, one blue( eliminate order?) and one white (bleach) tablets. One box is only meant for 1 toilet tank. What is happening to my toilet is that blue tablet seemed to not dissolving in water tank. Only white tablet is in action. As a result, the water tank valve/red lid are being bleached, hence pink water when flushing the toilet. I used a stick to poke and move the blue tablet. Now its turned into a layer of blue on a corner bottom of the water tank and still not dissolving in water. I am considering to remove both tablet/layers/substance and use another brand. I am afraid the strong bleach will damage the Pink Rubber valve with its strong beach and cause leakage.Eric

They are for fresh scent (a must when I have my grandsons here for a visit) and to "help" with reducing ring around the water line. Also, some folks place it under the water and that is wrong. The Click Gels are really handy & do help keep things clean and fresh smelling in between deep cleans. The scent is nice. It's not an overpowering smell, which I appreciate. I do wish the scent lasted a bit longer. I can't really smell it beyond the first couple of days. The fact that the applicator is disposable is kind of a double edged sword. I hate how much extra trash I'm contributing, but at the same time the product I used before required that I store the applicator and reuse it. That kind of seemed gross to me. I don't really want things in my bathroom cabinets that have been inside the toilet bowl. I think I like the fully disposable applicator of the Lysol Click Gels better. I do wish these came in a larger quantity per box. We have three toilets in the house, so a six pack will last us about 2 weeks or we have to keep a box in each bathroom which takes up much needed space. I'd rather buy a larger pack one a month or once every few months. A 24ct or 36ct would be ideal.James102

I was unaware of the protective wrap until I read the back of the packaging after opening the product. I think it's great that the wrapper is water soluble so I didn't have to handle or touch the actual tablet. I look forward to seeing how well they perform over the course of 45 days.
