I bought this and loved it so much that I just ordered 2 more. I was afraid they would stop making them. That always seems to happen to me. I find something I like and then it gets discontinued. We have an 18' round above ground pool. I had been using the pool vaccum that came with the pool when we bought it last year. Its a heavy, cumbersome long hose that connects to the filter on one end, and the cleaning pole with head on the other end. Well, never again will I have to endure that prehistoric cleaning tool. This little pool vacuum is AMAZING. I charge it with a USB. It snaps right together in seconds. I have 2 cracked vertebrae and this vac is so lightweight! I turn it on and its very quiet. Sometimes I have to put my ear near it to see if its on. This mighty little vaccum sucks up leaves, sand, dirt, everything in the bottom of the pool, except for huge leaves and twigs. All the gunk goes into its own basket filter. When Im done I empty the basket filter just like you would empty a bagless vaccuum cleaner. So my pool filter lasts longer because all this gunk is not even entering it, like it used to with the old prehistoric vaccum. I can vacuum the entire pool perfectly in 20 minutes flat. Its so easy. This little vacuum works great. It gets all that little stuff around the edges and behind the ladder from the bottom of your pool. I was spectacle to buy at first, due to the price, didn't think it would work that great. I'm glad I was wrong. Our pool isn't able to connect a vacuum to the filter so this is perfect for it. We have an an above ground pool. The small vacuum that came with it broke and parts are, of course, back ordered. We saw this ad and after reviewing the return policy in case we didn't like it, ordered it. From the minute we saw it we were pretty excited but when we finished the first charge and used it we totally FELL IN LOVE with this product, especially the large capacity. It is so easy to use and picks up basically everything. Our pool had considerable algae from not having a vacuum for a couple of weeks but after 2 or 3 uses this picked up 95%! I got this because I thought "there has to be a better way" since we just brush every couple of days. We have an in ground pool, a weekly cleaning with this keeps the bottom clear. The little vacuum robot you leave in the pool just never worked properly for us- it always got stuck in one corner. This vacuum is amazing and keeps the pool clean! This item does only last about 30 minutes, which is why I knocked off a star. It also needs to get cleaned (the filter) frequently during use, which gets less frequent if you're consistent with vacuuming (less to clean up). A better battery life would make this much more convenient.Caro
I had my reservations about this item before making the purchase. However I will tell you this little vacuum is great. I can not believe what it vacuums out of the pool. I have a 22x 7 inground pool, This vacuum can clean the entire pool in a matter of minutes. I was shocked at how useful this product is and how well it is designed. It comes with plastic poles but I used my skimmer aluminum pole which attached directly to this Pool Blaster. The battery lasts pretty long between charges. The filter element catches sand leaves and dirt. The unit comes apart for easy cleaning. I am impressed so far. I have used it several times now and it has accomplished what i need it to do. It does not replace a vac that scrubs or one that is robotic, however for general cleaning of quick spot cleaning this thing is worth every penny. Th only thing I wish it had was a hook to hang it. Certainly does the most work for the buck of any pool cleaning product out there. Reasonable price and little cost to operate. No real set up to do so it is good for both doing the whole pool and for quick spot cleaning. Perfect to pre-clean at opening before letting the robot finish the opening cleaning. Now my robot can finish the opening in one cycle or so as there is no more large debris. Good width makes the cleaning go fast. I have had this a few years. There are a couple of drawbacks to an overall excellent buy. It cannot be your only cleaning device because at some point you will need to clean something very fine like DE which escapes into the pool or fine sand, but you can use it most of the time. Also, the collection bag has a weak point; the draw string deteriorates and the bag must be replaced when it goes. Since the bag itself is sturdy, better material for the draw string would be a big plus as it would extend the bag life, and I would gladly pay extra next time I have to replace the bag for a more durable drawstring. There is an additional use that the company has not noted. I use it on the bottom 85% of the time and on the surface 5% of the time as in their ad. But I use use 10% of the time to hold it against the side and move it along the waterline all around the pool — it will pull in all the debris clinging to the waterline.MRE
I used it once and it worked fine. I tried a week later and it wouldn't work. I opened the battery compartment and it had water in it, the batteries were corroded. When I pulled out the battery pack. A wire was broken off the switch. I hope I can get another switch or this is going in the garbage. Instructions said Don't over tighten, so I hand tightened the screws, which I guess wasn't good enough. I recommend opening the battery compartment and drain any water after us and leave open to dry out.Tom
The idea of this vac is great! It is perfect for me w lots of pinestraw/wisteria leaves in pool. This is my third one. 1st one: tiny wire in the battery compartment came apart. I think that is from the very tight fit from the battery pack being pushed in/out. 2nd one: on/off button stop working and water getting into the battery compartment. The whole thing is plastic and the price is low so I knew What I was getting. Again, the idea is great and it works great but someone needs to improve the making of it to last. The Intex 28620EP is perfect for removing small particles from the floor of our outdoor spa. Since it has NiMH batteries instead of Lithium, it is priced lower and it has enough suction to pick up the debris in its path. It comes with a regular filter and two sock-like bags for capturing very fine particles. It also comes with an extendable pole which lets me reach everywhere in the spa, and it comes with two head attachments for moving around different terrain and angles. It does not come with a charging source, just a USB type cable to connect to a phone or other charging block. Charging takes 6 – 8 hours, and run time is reportedly only about 20 minutes, but that's long enough: I've used it 3 times so far but I'm done in about 10 minutes so it's never run out of power too soon. You do need to move it slowly so as not to stir up the debris, and the power comes on only when it has been submerged and the power switch is on. It is very quiet so you have to watch it work rather than hear it. After years of having difficulty getting the floor of our spa clean, this little unit has made me wish I found it a long time ago.cyberclg
I was worried about this having NiMh batteries instead of LiOn batteries, but I have been using this to clean my Spa for over a month and have not had to recharge yet. I did fully charge it overnight before the first use. I was also worried about the suction power, because I saw several bad reviews about it. It has great suction power, at least when I leave attachments off (I haven't tried them because I want a small focus point for small areas). It pics up all the small particles in all the corners as well as larger leaves. It turns on only when submerged to protect the pump. It is very easy to clean. The telescoping handle makes it easy to reach everywhere in my spa. In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about the negative reviews, I find that most negative reviews are operator error, negative Nellies that can never be satisfied, or the rare lemon that might escape a manufacturer.David A.
Love it! I made sure to directly take it out to use after charging it when the light was green showing it’s ready to suck. Pun intended. I have a 10×20’ intex pool and it took about a half hour or so to cover it completely but picked up the dirt and debris. I have my pool away from trees with leaves so haven’t had to deal with big leaves. But round one of cleaning went great! Glad I didn’t get a robotic one bc this isn’t bad at all!Update. Make sure when you are going for removing algae to put the white sleeve over the black one. You insert the white sleeve into the black one first and make sure the thicker part of the rim of the white one extends completely below where the black ones rubber rim ends otherwise it doesn’t make a good deal when you place them together into the end of the vacuum. To be honest, I did buy this for use in my in ground pool which is not the intended use. However, I had a similar vaccine that lasted 3 years for the same use, so I had an idea of how well it may work. Unfortunately, although the vacuum battery lasts a while, the suction is not as effective as expected. It blew the dirt out and around more than it cleaned. The filter needed reinforcement to stay in place after a few uses. Since the other vacuum still works and only the brush portion had deteriorated due to use, I was able to simply use this vacuum’s brush on my other vacuum. It may be better used in a spa or small pool with minimal debris.
First of all the cheaply made very low duty plastic pole is useless as there is no additional support on the vacuum. This makes the vacuum wobble and at one point the plastic pole will break. Even with a metal pole the vacuum wobbles as there is a design error. Secondly, when lifting the vacuum, the water can freely eject and the dirt falls back into the pool. You will need to knee down and lift the vacuum with hand, turning the device upside down, to avoid all the dirt to fall back into the pool. Very poorly designed. Will return mine tomorrow. Update: Got one pf the Intex models for about 60 bucks and tjey are better designed, at least have a non return flap valve so thst the dirt can‘t fall back in the pool and similar suction power.Las V. Opening pool after not really taking care of it over winter — I'm blaming ***.anwho Wife and I have suffered through previous years keeping pool clean with ones that hookup to the pool filters. We have one of those larger Intex steel frame (12000 Gal) style pools so we know with the pump you get what you pay for (to be fair the pump works fine for the pool). It was always a hassle even as I'd upgrade connecters etc. So this year with the pool a mess and we started "cleaning" 1 hour later and wife and I just starting to boil I'm like fudge it, there has to be a better way. Found this bad boy. 100% worth it for us. Is it the best thing ever, no. Is the thing to clean your above ground medium size pool. Yes. Does it have a few "issues" with letting stuff out when you pull out of water. Of course, but you still got a lot more out. I find if I power it off under water and hold the front end up before taking it out (hard to do when on the stick, but once again I digress) there is very minimal spill back. In the end what went from a multi-person marriage destroying activity to a very easy one person (not me) way to clean the pool. Battery is long enough that outside of cleaning up a winter mess should be fine for your average cleaning cycle. The only fault would be for the really stuck on algae we have to go in the brush. If it had a way to have a hard flat brush for algae build up, well I don't know what more I could ask for at this price.JustBill

I have read mixed reviews on the Water Tech blaster so I wasn't sure what to expect. The fact that is runs on D batteries concerned me a little a bit but in the summer of 2020 when pools, supplies and TP are hard to come by, you take what you can get. I have an Intex pool sand pump and ended up buying a Summer Waves pool. Summer Waves is all we could find this year. Thankfully my husband was able to rig the pump to work with the pool. One night my husband said he had no clue how we were going to be able to vacuum the pool since everything is rigged together. We had no choice but to go with a handheld vacuum. I HATE using the garden hose to vacuum a pool. I came across this and figured I would give it a shot. I was able to do it by myself without having to bother my husband for any assistance. I had high hopes that this vac would solve my only pool issue: Sediment that collects on the pool floor. I have one of those 4' Best above ground pools that you take down and put up each year. I always have sparkling clean water due to good chemical and filtration maintenance. However, the pool collects this mild, algae like sediment on the bottom. I was hoping this broom vac would suck it up, but it did a pitiful job. I was skeptical from the start and I asked the retailer what the return policy is, so this toy is going back for a refund. So far, my Pool Blaster has been fantastic! I love it. I have been trying to resolve my pool vacuuming troubles (my filter vacuum sucks because it does not . . ). I have a neighbor with a huge pine tree that deposits little baby pine cones into my round 21' pool any time there is the slightest bit of wind. In addition, wind-borne dirt frequently finds its way to the bottom leaving a nice tiger-stripe pattern as it settles into the ruts. My blaster very efficiently sucks up the buds (the rotation from the pool filter fortunately clumps them in the center) and allows me to clean the dirt sediment in a breeze. The suction of the blaster is powerful enough to slurp the dirt right out of the rutty grooves as well. If you have a above ground pool this is a must. I have struggled for years to keep my above ground pool clean. With the trees blowing leaves in the pool constantly it was a struggle. I was pleased with this vacuum I was able to get all the leaves and twigs out of the bottom of the pool while I was having a refreshing dip. It also got fine dirt out off the bottom of the pool. I was never able to do this with my hose vacuum. It was quick simple and easy to use. Even though I had to empty quite a few times it was easy to do. I just kept a hose handy to rinse the bag so I could tell how much I was getting out each time. Which was a lot. I would purchase again.1029pudding

I have owned several of these over the past 30 years. My pool guy suggested I get the new star model. From the beginning it never had good suction and was a constant frustration. I finally got so frustrated I bought the upgraded design of the original. The moment I started it up it acted perfectly – just like the old model. Unfortunately, this product just didn't work out for. I owned the zodiac G2 for ten 10 years and never had problems keeping it down and balanced. It would travel up walls and along the entire perimeter of the pool. This kreepy Krauly will not stay balanced or travel evenly throughout the pool. I've tried numerous adjustments with the weights provided with this unit. I'm disappointed and unimpressed by its performance. I wanted to wait until I had used this a few times before writing a review because I had previously purchased a knock off of this product that was an utter disappointment and I returned it. The Pentair Kreepy Krauly worked right out of the box but it has taken me a few times of using it to adjust it ***.so it's perfect. I live in Florida and only use it once a week because I have a screened in pool which is about 22 ft. in length and my pool does not get dirty. I also do not get leaves in my pool because of the screened enclosure. I brush the walls and steps before using the unit. I am really a novice at this and I found that I had to add one more length of hose than the manufacturer recommended to get it to go into the far corner of my pool between my steps and my raised spa. At first it would get caught in that very tight space between the steps and the spa (and I considered removing that extra hose length to remedy it), but instead I turned "up" the water flow attachment speed to "faster" (about a quarter of turn), gave it a few minutes… and then it figured out how to get out of that spot in a short amount of time. I also had to adjust the water flow attachment a number of other times, but only a quarter turn at a time to get it just right so the cleaner did not get stuck on the main drain (turn back the water flow attachment to "slower", which lessens the amount of suction so the cleaner and the main drain don't just keep sucking each other together). My suggestion is when you first set up this unit to set the water flow attachment in the middle between Faster and Slower which I think would eliminate a lot of the adjustments I had to make… and then make your adjustments from there . You could also close your Main drain to accomplish keeping the cleaner from getting stuck on the main drain.. I have also adjusted the singular weight I have on the hose (I only require one weight for my length of pool) so the weight is now closer to the cleaner (maybe 8 inches from the unit) to prevent it from tipping backwards after coming off a wall. You just have to play with all these different things… a little trial and error. After these adjustments, today it worked perfectly. It cleans the pool, climbs the walls and doesn't get stuck in corners or on the main drain. It takes some patience and small adjustments until you get it right but then it does an excellent job of cleaning the pool. I think any pool cleaner you might buy will require adjustments. My pool is spotless and it only takes about 3 hours. After I use it, I wash down my hoses to get the chlorine off, both inside and out, as well as washing down the cleaner itself both inside and out which should prolong the life of the unit. I store it in a pool box (detaching all the hoses which should be laid straight) to protect everything). I highly recommend this unit. Hope this is of some help.M. A.

I have a 16'x32' in ground pool with an automatic robot cleaner. The robot does a great job but does not climb the built in stairs so the steps get dirty and look bad. I can just brush the steps off, but the sediment falls back in a few minutes. Using the KEKTRA pool vacuum has solved this problem. It only takes me a couple of minutes to vacuum my four stair treads. This pool vacuum is a little cheap and cheesy but so far it works to resolve my specific problem. For a little vacuum it does great so far. Still waiting on the pole to come in, but it will be here soon To make a long story short, a good amount of sand was spilt in our above ground pool. Last night we tried it out without the pole. It was sucking up the sand. the bag is little, so a lot of cleaning out the bag took place. sometimes we did not get a good suction, but redid the bag and would work. I think the batteries took about 4 hours to charge. To be honest we did not use it long enough to see how long the batteries will last. We will know once the pole comes in. I have read some reviews on the pole, but if it comes down to it; we will go to hardware store and get something that will work with it.Kim
This is my second Catfish; the first one bit the dust after 6 hard years of service. The new one is much improved, especially in regards to the waterproofing of the inside unit.Regretfully, the new unit would not turn on after repeated tries to charge. Got a MRA (return authorization) on the seller website and shipped it UPS. I bought this vacuum three years ago, after we purchased a 15 foot pool. My filter, which is super cute but nothing like the one I had growing up, was not compatible with a vacuum, so this was my only option. I read the reviews, the suggestions on making it last, and I am now on year 3 of using it. I make sure to never overcharge it, I clean it with the hose immediately after use, I store it in the house, and that's about all I have done to "make it last." It works incredibly well and I have never run out of power-even after using it several times on my hot tub, for its bi-annual deep clean, having it sit a day, and then vacuuming the pool for 20 minutes (whose bright idea was it to put the pool under the trees for shade?!). It picks up everything from leaves to "helicopters" to tiny bugs to clumps of God knows what (did I mention the tree situation?). It has been well worth the money and I love that I don't have a huge hose following me around or the need to backwash after vacuuming. I won't even let my teens use it because I find it so relaxing and satisfying-though I do tell them I'm taking one for the team and not giving it to them as a chore 🙂 If The vacuum broke tomorrow, I would feel I got more than my money's worth. At first I wasn’t sure that it was working. It doesn’t really suction to the bottom of the pool. It needs to be pushed and held down. But after checking the catch bagfilter, it had collected a pleasing amount of particles from the bottom of our pool. I am satisfied with this purchase. I did have to purchase a 40 extendable handle in addition to the vacuum. The one we had already for our skimmer didn’t fit.Jennifer
