Bought a Bottle of the Mint Blend at my Local Walmart. Got home, opened the bottle, applied about four drops in the palm of my hand, worked it into my beard down to the skin with my hands and fingers. The after effect was like smelling a old damp, moldy rags. Contacted Cremo's customer service and actually got a reply within an hour… and this was on a Saturday. Long story short, they bent over backwards to make this right. Got a replacement bottle of oil, and balm within days. Great job guys. I'll be buying direct from here on out. My only complaint is the packaging for the item, I ordered two bottles of this item small enough to fit in my mailbox and you’re team put the items in a oversized package so the delivery guy had no other choice but to put it outside my apartment complex while I was at work. I have been using the Jack Black beard oil for 5 weeks now. I was, honestly, skeptical based on the previous reviews. The bottle size was my concern as was the product results. I have to say that I'm very happy with both. The recommended application is 2-3 squirts a day. 5 weeks in there is still more than half the bottle left. That is the first positive. This will last me more than 2 months. That's very reasonable to me. I've also read reviews, here and elsewhere, that this leaves the beard feeling greasy. True for about 5-10 minutes. After that, it's just soft and quite silky. The application does leave a "greasy" film on my fingers, but nothing soap doesn't fix. Now for the product itself — so happy! After the first application my goatee was softer. I can tell the difference on days when I don't use it so now I use it religiously every day. I have no more issues with beard dander (/cheer!) and my goatee looks fuller and less disheveled. Most importantly is that my better half notices the difference. My goatee is smoother and not scratchy on her skin. For the record I have a 8" goatee and using the beard oil makes it look perfectly manicured every day. I know there are plenty of beard oils on the market today. I cannot say if this is any better or worse than the competition. All I can state is that it works incredibly well for me and I have no need to try another type. I highly recommend this product.Redog75

I've tried 5 (Pirate, Viking, Original and Patriot) so far and this is my fav. Jury is still deliberating on Patriot (new to me), but the rest are all pretty good. I rotate through oils/balms each day. Thinking it helps keep me from getting tired of an specific scent and limits the opportunity for irritation. None have caused irritation so far. I really like the scent of The Biker, which is especially important now that find ourselves in masks a lot. Skin doesn't itch, which is a huge measure of success for me. Scent is secondary, but important. As a side benefit, the oil and the balm provide a pretty decent alternative to smelling my breath all the time in a mask. I have recently started matching oil and balm, with the only noticeable benefit is consistency in the scent. i really like what this product has to offer. I tend to go longer beard (3-6") during winter and goatee/stash in summer. Right now the beard is short (started to winterize), but remains soft and healthy whether short or long. I got the trial size because patchouli, sandalwood, and mint just sound weird together. Somehow I ended up with 2x trial sizes, the first one smelled really weird, like York peppermint patties. About the time I was at the bottom of the oil it changed to more like patchouli and sandalwood alone, the mint sort of went away. The second bottle of oil smelled only like patchouli and sandalwood, not really any mint at all. So that was kind of weird, but after a few days I got to liking the scent, especially the peppermint patty one, but the mint doesn't last too long. In the end it was the price for the larger sizes that will keep me away. But I do like that they have lots of choices if that's your bag.Bobb G.

I';m a huge fan of Zeus beard wash and conditioner. But never tried the beard oil or balm cuz it was always sold out at my local shop vixen and beard. But also cuz I had 6 other bottles. This oil, is incredibly good quality. It';s consistency is thinner than uppercuts beard balm, but more creamy to me than an actual oil. Apothecary 87';s Muskoka is a very close comparison. And this is even with it in performance. Bottle and pump is high quality and works great. This worked great for about 5 or 6 hours, which is above average for me. Doesn';t have a lot of hold, but definitely is there in a way, maybe just a little more hold if combined with a balm. The only criticism is that it';s very natural smelling. In that the oils used in making it outshine the fragrance oils. Which to me, having right under my nose isn';t nice. But I will suffer through that and just combine with mustache wax so I';m not smelling it. My girlfriend loves the smell so maybe it';s just my nose. But the performance stands out most for me. This is a brand that actually warrants the price tag, unlike other main stream beard brands…. Cough cough. Keep up the work guys.William

Remember watching your father, Uncle, or big brother shave? Remember the scent? Well, this brings a lot of those memories back. Bay rum was the scent my father used and this is quite similar. I chose the vanilla rum scent and I'm glad I did. I'm an older gentleman and I use a single blade razor, brush and cup to shave. It takes a little longer than the electric method but it's, in my opinion, the best way to avoid some skin irritation and dry skin on the face. I was expecting small travel-sized products to show up at my home when I got this but these are very large, full-sized products. The scent is great and lasts for longer than you'd expect. Having a short beard is going to extend the life of this product for me. This came in a rather large metal tin that's pretty cool looking and doesn't clutter up my bathroom counter space. It can also be used to store your other shaving essentials when the shampoo and conditioner are kept in the shower. I cannot explain how awesome this is because it's way more awesome than I expected. I'm sold on Zeus products now and will not have to buy another batch of stuff until well into the Fall. Definitely worth whatever they're charging for it, but I'm so happy and thankful that I got to try it for free. I remember when something like this would've only been available from what most consider high end retailers, but you can get it closer to home now that Walmart is carrying this stuff. I've always had a beard that is curly and grows in well, but doesn't look good because of the curls. It sort of grows within itself. However, I showered last night with the shampoo and conditioner for my beard. It feels great when you lather it. Straight after drying my beard, it was immediately softer than with previous beard and shampoo conditioner. It also appeared some what more tame. I then did the rest of my routine and finished with the beard oil into the beard balm. The beard oil worked wonders. My beard was shiny and smelled incredible. It lingers for a LONG time! The beard balm was another home run, Beard was able to be brushed to style and again, smelled great. My beard looks much more uniform and neat just after combining these products for a single day. My girlfriend also noticed and said how great it smelled. Can't speak on long term use yet, but so far the products I have used are phenomenal. Definitely beats the target maestro brands I had been using! I also ordered the boars head beard brush for thin to medium beards. It is very high quality as well. We absolutely love the product itself, the oil itself is fantastic and he loves it. The bottle it comes in on the other hand has serious issues! The last 2 bottles we have ordered have been messed up in some way, one was received broken and the oil had spilled all over the tube. He had to take it out and store it on its side to prevent further leaking. The most recent one the dropper bulb came already separated from the bottle and had to be stored at an angle so he can use it without further leaking. We have pictures if you would like them! My fiancee was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Because of chemo he lost his long string beard. It has slowly grown back but not the same. Part as a Christmas gift I got him this beard oil.
