Excellent bike. Very smooth riding with a comfortable riding position. Quality parts from Shimano make for fast shifts with good gear range. I ride primary for aerobic exercise and find the bike gives me a great workout while providing a smooth, solid ride. I assembled it myself but needed to have a bike shop to fine tune the front disc brake and true the front wheel in order for the front wheel to spin freely. (Although the bike comes with all the necessary assembly tools (hex wrenches and pedal wrench), the included assembly instructions are not very good w respect to the front wheel / disc brake assembly). But as it turns out Vilano explains that you need to have a bike shop check the assembly in order for the warranty to be valid … not something I knew going in, but the bike shop’s assembly review and front wheel / disc brake tuning ($80) gives me added peace of mind. I should add that Vilano customer service is outstanding. Their toll free phone automated attendant menu could do for a few more option selections to make things more intuitive, but once you get through to the staff they is great. They give you the sense that they are genuinely interested in helping you solve whatever problem you’ have. They listen well, seem to be very knowledgeable about the product and follow up as promised. Overall I’m very pleased with the bike … smooth and solid with good quality parts. We ordered this bike for our teenage son. We added the Pro Build, since we don’t have any close bike shops and we knew he would ride it right away. The bike came on time and packaged neatly. Our son put it together in about 15 minutes and took it out for a ride. So nice that it worked perfectly! Totally worth the slight up charge. I researched bikes in order to find a hybrid bike that delivered more road performance than trail, at a reasonable cost. This one fit the bill and I believe is a clear winner in the price range $300. It does take a while to set up, and you should understand bikes or bring it to a shop to handle that for you. I understand bikes and I still became tripped up on the front derailleur, and it took me a couple days of working on it and reviewing video to first see where I messed up in attempting to fine tune it and then figuring out where to set it back to where it originally was set and then fine tuning it from that point again once I realized that's all it needed. The back derailleur and the disc brakes also needed adjustment and I did fine on them though but again, you need to understand bikes and also to comprehend videos on the subject matter. Took the bike for my first ride recently, so this is a maiden voyage review of approximately 7 to 8 miles on steep hills. It performs admirably on hills, where the 24 gears are a must! The bike is a performer for the price! Tires felt strong, frame is solid, disc brakes are great. The seat may need to be changed out for comfort, however, they are cheap enough and for the price of the bike, should not be considered a deterrent. It is better to NOT have a front shock for more road use, as that absorbs energy going up steep hills and that's what I needed this for. Had the bike pushing 40 m.p.h. or over and was very stable. Be sure to check the wheel hub and brakes prior to doing that though. Five stars for the quality on price point and the outlet shipped it fast and delivery time is reasonable. Remember, assembly IS required. The bike is solid but will need some adjustment once assembled though, so your call on how you do it, yourself or professionally, as it can be quite frustrating. If you were worried about quality, don't, it will get the job done for leisure to intermediate riding endeavors I believe based on my first take. This is great bike for riding around the neighborhood. I received it as promised. I had to assemble it which took a little over an hour and was not difficult. After assembly, I took it for a spin. A few minor adjustments later (seat height, handlebar placement), I was able to ride around my neighborhood in comfort. Overall, I was pleased with this bicycle. I very much liked the click gear shifters and the road tires. After hitting a pothole on one of our local, poor-quality Illinois service roads and seeing my first flat, I was surprised. After removing the tire and tube, I noticed a metal shaving from the air valve hole still resting within the wheel! I would not have expected that kind of sloppiness from a Schwinn, even if they are all made in China now. That aside, the bike is a real pleasure, and my travel times have definitely improved against my cheap Wal-Mart Roadmaster! If you don't mind some tinkering with the brakes and a little assembly on arrival, it's hard to beat the overall quality.misterb-13

This is a very good bike for the price. Target card gives you a 5%discount, which is a plus. For a 1st road bike, i would recommend this bike. Only 2 reasons why I do not give it 5 stars is because of the following reason: 1) I cannot give it 4.5 2) some issues with the gears and breaks which need to be tweaked. I would recommend taking it to the bike shop if you can for assembly. I work on cars, and this didn't scare me so I worked it out myself. With the price in mind, you will be hard pressed to get an equivalent bike for the price. If you have $400-500 to spend or want to spend at least that much, then go for something else like a Trek or Specialized.TKam DE

This was the best bicycle! If you're average height the only thing is you have to throw your leg over to get on the bicycle. It's comfortable seating, very accommodating, is fast speed but not too bad. You can definitely get a good exercise out of this bike! It's very high in quality. It almost makes you forget you're exercising it's definitely worth a purchase.C

This bike felt sturdy and it was easy to take off. As I accelerated and was able to move faster, I was unable to continue pedaling. I did not attempt to shift gears and maybe this would have helped. Yet it handled corners well. I am sure it will ride well on terrain surfaces.Diesel82

Ok, let me start off by saying that I've been on lots of bikes. But NONE compare to this baby. Outside of the bike being my favorite color this is the best ride I've ever experience. I love, love, love it. It's lightweight and stylish but very sturdy. The ride is so smooth. The seat is comfortable and so are the handlebars. It brakes with ease and you do not have to worry about feeling all the bumps like you experience with other bikes. I can't say enough about it. The cutest bike that ever was. The olive green color is awesome. It's great for quick rides around town and I love the step through design (skirts and heels to dinner are doable!). My boyfriend assembled the bike for me and said it was fairly easy to put together. The metal chain cover arrived bent causing the chain to catch on it. We had to bend and pound the metal piece to fit. Overall the bike is best in my opinion for flat commutes. If I lived somewhere with more hills I'd be bummed because first gear is sometimes not low enough for steeper roads (which compared to other places I've lived are still pretty mellow considering) and I'm not sure the 8 speed would fix that issue. I'm also 5'5" and find the handle bars a tad too far away from the seat, by about an inch. My body position is in this awkward not-leaning-forward-not-sitting upright position, which gets a bit annoying after awhile. That said, for a price tag of under $500 including tax and shipping, I can't complain. It's great for what I wanted and I get compliments everywhere I go 'cause it's cute af.Brittany D.

A very solid bike for the price point. Is it trying to do anything fancy? No, but it is a great option for someone looking to get from A to B without breaking the bank. When I was researching this as a gift for my girlfriend, I noticed a few complaints about the weight and the build quality. To those points, I would say the following: Weight: overall, the bike is not super light, so it can be a little unwieldy when trying to load it into a vehicle. That said, it is not too heavy, and rides fairly smoothly. The bigger factor is how the weight is distributed across the bike (center of gravity, in essence). Most of the weight feels like it sits between the rider and the rear wheel, with the front feeling very light in comparison. This is not an issue in any way, but it does create a bit of a learning curve for cornering, as well as for stopping on down-slopes. Just be aware that it will take some getting used to. Build quality: lined up with what I would expect for the price point. The frame and primary components seem solid, and while some of the smaller nuts and bolts for things like the fenders are a little on the soft side, they didn't present any issue for me on install. As a side note, I did the initial assembly of the bike upon receipt just to make sure nothing was missing or obviously damaged, but I took it to a shop for final alignment, tightening, and tuning setup. There were no issues to be found, and it was pretty intuitive to assemble, to the point where I almost didn't need the instructions. What I will say is that the brakes needed significant adjustment out of the box, which is part of the reason I entrusted the initial setup to professionals. My GF and I have ridden the bike several times now on variable length trips (1 mile – 20 miles), and the bike performed reasonably well for all use cases. The seat did get a touch uncomfortable toward the end of the 20 mile trip, but not to the point of being unbearable (I should also mention that this is coming from the stance of someone who is not used to sitting on bike seats for any length of time). It rides and shifts well through the midrange gears, but gets a bit noisy in the lowest gear, and the highest gear is feels like it really only wants to be used when going down a pretty steep hill to try to build speed. The weight in the tail is also very noticeable when climbing steep grades, encouraging the rider to lean forward more than usual, but not to an uncomfortable degree. Overall, this is a very usable and well priced bike. It isn't perfect, but it exceeded my expectations. I have not had it long enough to comment on long term reliability/ serviceability. P.S. I would strongly consider upgrading the brakes if planning to use this bike in hilly environments or as a daily rider, just for a bit of extra stopping power and response. Firstly, the parcel was sent in the thinnest, least-protective box imaginable. I've gotten Amazon boxes of cotton balls more fortified. It was also shipped via FedEx Home Delivery, which means it was subject to a contractor's whims and handled roughly. It not only came late, but the box had several large holes and I'm pretty sure some of the hardware fell out in the process because it was missing two bolts. The derailleur hanger was bent upon receipt as a result of banging around for days and days in transit. Now I have to spend additional money and time having it repaired. They quoted us $100. Retrospec did refund just under that, so they did make it right in that regard, but it's now been two weeks and I haven't gotten to ride my bicycle once. I can't review the actual bike yet, but I wanted to call out the shoddy box and the choice to use FedEx instead of UPS, which is consistently better for packages like this. Just a bit of extra padding, especially for models with a delicate derailleur, and I would have been singing its praises and having fun on my vacation instead of feeling sad every time I see someone else enjoying a bike. That said, the color is beautiful. The saddle and grips are rather cheap-looking, but those can be replaced.Jessica M.

A few years ago, though living in suburban America, I gave up a car for a bicycle (and occasional rideshares for business). A lifestyle-choice experiment that lasts to this day. Recently, it was time for me to let go of Ol' Faithful, and so I began a journey… At first I made the mistake of chasing after deals per well-known name brands… 1st bike purchase from a department store, a disappointment, so I returned it. 2nd bike, from another department store, such a let down with defects, also returned. At some point, I left behind my local department stores and various online department store searches… I took my goal more seriously! Then I discovered a few *authentic* bike shops with online stores… Early on, sixthreezero stood out above the rest for it's straightforward messaging and ease-of-use website. So, then I found a good value-for-price option for me to buy direct from their online store, the sixthreezero EVRYjourney Men's Casual Edition 26" 7-Speed Sport Hybrid Cruiser Bicycle, Matte Black. Once, I researched the online resources sixthreezero provides and the history and philosophy of the brand, I decided to also purchase their Forever Warranty. Considering that the shipping cost was free, the total purchase price was an amazing value. As a work-from-home veteran, I'm also a technophile and online-buyer/home-delivery enthusiast. So, I could have a lot to be critical about anything going wrong with the purchase process, the shipping and handling, and/or the product quality or support. Turns out that I have nothing but GREAT VIBES and GOOD THINGS TO SAY about this product! Despite the current 2020 economy downturn, the delivery of my new purchase was predictable and well-tracked and reported with updates along the way, and then complete within about one week as promised. Their bike-in-a-box complete solution leaving me to complete the assembly was as simple as I could imagine. You've just got to go the website and watch an unboxing/how-to assembly video for the model bicycle in which you're interested. You'll get it. For my own interest, I also downloaded and consulted the PDF complete assembly manual. As assembly proceeded, I was impressed and gratified with the feel of the quality and craftsmanship of the parts, materials, and frame of the bike. There were a few very minor discrepancies between the video walkthrough and the tools and parts that arrived in the box, but nothing that my brain couldn't sort out and realize that I for sure actually had absolutely everything as promised. (I think the version, model of my bicycle seemed like a new listing on the online store; so I allowed for these minor incongruities without thinking much of it.) After dealing with the lesser quality and mishaps of assembly with the previously store-bought bikes, I really came to appreciate the "legit bike shop with an online store" approach of sixthreezero. As well, after having dealt with the department store staff who would assemble the on-floor bikes, I came to realize that having the uber-experienced legit bicycle experts at sixthreezero assemble my bike to the out-of-the-box 80%-assembled extent really makes a difference! After owning an expensive 21-speed Schwinn, which gears locked up several times, i really wanted a simple 3-speed. The box was extremely damaged; staples were missing, the remaining two were hanging loose; large v-shape rip in cardboard, two holes punched through, including at the gear hub, which plastic protector was discolored (and had fallen off) from hard banging in transit. Bike, unlike Sixthreezero assembly vid, was even difficult to remove from box, given tight packing and contents banged around. Acquaintances advised me to return it. The simplicity of 3-speed, however, is the reason I kept pushing to get the bike functional. Assembly is not "easy", as per description. i could assemble quite a bit but centering the front wheel with adjusting the brake pads, brake handle and cable required a professional (with fee). He also tweaked several spokes; he was not impressed with the bike. It arrived July 5; Tuesday, July 19, finally got it ready to go. The shimano gear was very smooth at first, then a couple clackety-clacks; but, objectively, I might've switched gears too fast or they may be very sensitive. Given the state of shipping box and banging at the gear hub I'm concerned about gear longevity. We have a few more days to try it out before the deadline to return. The matte black finish shows all hand- and fingerprints. Front brakes still unevenly grab the rim. Seems like the value doesn't match the price. I paid $806.47 tax $9.99 shipping; then clicked on my still-open bicycle page and found it had refreshed to a price of $479.99 (40% reduction) and out of stock. Sheesh; what a frustrating experience.jgh

I'd rate my EvryJourney so far as about 6-7/10. It's extremely comfortable to ride and the pricing was great for a bike that sixthreezero's website claims can more than support my weight. The problem is that about a month after receiving the bike, it started making this horrible scraping/grinding sound. It starts after riding for a little while (0.5-1 mile) and becomes increasingly louder and more difficult to pedal. Since it continues even with the brake arms open, I think it's the rear wheel. Support told me to take it to a local bike shop and they'll reimburse me. Hopefully my local shop can fix it. Without that problem it would be an easy 10/10.djte

I absolutely love this bike. I have always wanted a beach cruiser but women’s cruisers are generally not made for tall women. Enter ThreeSixZero and their genius inclusion of a “will this bike fit my body” calculator on their website. I entered my height and weight and it gave me a list of all the cruisers that would work for me. I was able to buy with confidence that I wouldn’t be smacking my knees on the handlebars. I chose the single speed because there is some assembly required and I didn’t want to deal with brake lines or complicated gears. The bike came very well packaged and was really easy to put together; I was riding my bike within an hour of opening the box! My husband was instantly jealous of my new ride and I ended up getting him his own cruiser (again using the calculator since he’s quite tall) for Valentine’s Day. Now we take rides together any chance we get, and often choose to ride our bikes to the store instead of wasting gas taking a car. I can’t recommend this company enough!RisW

I purchased the Around the Block Men's Bicycle. I had one issue when tightening the saddle so that it did not tilt downward when sitting on it. I tried to lock it down, but overtightened one side until the threads deteriorated and the nut popped off. This was my fault, and I should have tightened both sides evenly. I mention this because the customer service to replace the saddle was fantastic and I did not have any issues tightening as intended after receiving a new saddle, which was shipped promptly. But after getting the saddle secured, I had an issue tuning the braking mechanism on the rear tire. The rear tire itself was warped to where I had to choose between rubbing slightly on the brakes every revolution, or opening the brakes so much that it had no braking power. It took a lot of tuning, but I eventually found a brake setting with minimal rub and moderate braking power, and just relied on the front brakes after that. I have no doubt the customer service would have also responded to this issue, but after the saddle thing I kind of wanted to figure it out myself. Still, the rear wheel did come warped and I could have pursued getting a new one. Everything else was good and the frame and gear mechanism seemed like quality parts. Due to the warped tire, I would give 3/5 but the customer service is 5/5 so average review is 4/5.curtisbrian2

When covid and lockdown first started, I was looking for fun and effective ways to work out at home/socially distanced. A friend suggested getting a bike and I began researching different options and brands. I was (and still am) a total newbie but sixthreezero seemed like the right move based on reviews and price point. I am recently retired and not willing to go quietly into the night. To get regular exercise I am a beginner rider. My excellent local bike shop guy allowed me to try out virtually every bike in the shop. I tried drop bar bikes and mountain bikes but came to be the most comfortable with the FX-1. I live in a very humid, tropical environment where sulfur emissions from a prior lava eruption continue to pollute the air and cause everything metal to rust. After our 1960's Schwinn cruiser bicycles became rusted beyond repair, I searched online for new bikes. The sixthreezero bicycles looked really cool and the prices were fantastic. I did not expect the quality to be anywhere near as good as it is! It is extremely comfortable and a breeze to pedal also! The paint color is very retro and cool; people compliment the bike whenever I ride Amazingly, TWO years after I have purchased it, my bike has NO rust anywhere! This is practically unheard of in our location! We live 5 blocks from 3-month long active lava eruption that continues to emit sulfur into the air three years later! If I had to say something negative about the bike, I can't think of anything I would change about it! Their customer service team is top notch! Anytime I email them, they respond almost immediately! I bought this bike to try to get in better shape. The reason I wanted an electric bike was because I wanted to push myself and then use the electric only to ride back if I pushed myself too far. Plus I needed a way to get back home to accommodate multiple musculoskeletal issues that I was afraid would leave me stranded and struggling to return on a manual bike. I haven't rid a bike in years so I was hesitant to spend this amount on a bike I hadn't test driven and I lacked confidence in my physical ability as I have multiple disabilities. First off this bike has changed my life. I started off riding a couple miles and being tired. After a few weeks I was up to 5 miles multiple times a week. I'm so excited to have a means of exercise that gets my heart rate up, doesn't exacerbate my disabilities, and is enjoyable. I have had my bike for 2 months now and last month I rode 70 miles and met the weekly recommend moderate activity for multiple weeks in a row. I have done 7, 8, 9 mile rides so far. I originally thought I wouldn't get my heart beat up much with an electric bike but to the contrary. My fitbit shows my rides and where my heart increases to fat burning and cardio. Now I have plans by the end of March to ride 6 miles to work and 6 miles back 2-3 times a week. I couldn't have even imagined this goal as a possibility 2 months ago and now this is realistic. This bike is comfortable and is a joy to ride. The seat is cushy and comfortable. The hand grips are comfortable. I have issues with my hands and was worried about pain but this hasn't been a problem and I'm quite comfortable with the grips and angle of the handlebars. This bike is sturdy and comfortable. The battery lasts a long time. I could probably ride 4 or 5 days 5-6 miles a day until I need to recharge. I usually recharge every 2-3 rides but that is because I'm the type of person who fills my gas tank up when it is 3/4th full. I see the battery go down two bars and I'm on it with a recharge. The cons: I had a squeaking sound and couldn't figure out what was causing it, but I didn't look. I assigned figuring it out to my boyfriend and he said he was going to try some WD40. I'm not sure if he used it or did something but the squeaking sound went away. My breaks squeal a little. I haven't walked through the steps they provided to do a break tune-up so it is probably user error. I think I'm going to assign this to my boyfriend too. The battery came loose a couple times cutting the power. I just noticed it was tougher to pedal and stopped the bike to push it back in. The final con was I really wanted the cream bike but after waiting for three months global supply issues meant I would likely have to wait another three months. So they gave me an option to wait or switch to a bike in stock which is how I ended up with the Navy bike. It is very nice looking and I'm pleased even though it wasn't my first pick. I highly recommend this bike. It was easy to assemble. I think it took me an hour because I carefully read and reread instructions to make sure I did it correctly. I love this bike. It is super comfy and gave me an outlet to be physical activity. I was really struggling with the prospect of never being able to do anything physical until I got this bike. So I'm serious when I say this bike changed my life by giving me back my life. Now I have cute little accessories on it. Love it and look forward to many rides to come.Jeni

After purchasing an electric bike from Six Three Zero for myself, and being pleased with what I got, I ordered a second one for my wife, a 250 w Around the Block. I am just as pleased with this one as I was the first. The assembly instructions were straight-forward, all the parts were there, and it went together easily with a minimum of adjustments. I experienced one problem, with the lock for the battery, but that was instantly dealt with and a new replacement arrived in a matter of days. My wife had not ridden a bike in a long time, but she is now enjoying joining me on our tours of the country roads that we are lucky enough to be near. And, if we go a bit too far, all we have to do is turn up the juice and head back home. Thanks Six-Three-Zero. We will enjoy these bikes for years.George C

Both rims on bike were not true, I am a pretty good bike mechanic, I had a spoke wrench, and I could not true them. As a result, the brakes did not work properly, they rubbed on the rim high spots all the time…… Also, derailleur was not adjusted right, it would not shift into low gear. I emailed Firmstrong Help and they reacted immediately and had me go to a local bike shop to get rims trued and derailleur tuned. They paid for it! I was impressed, I did not even ask them to pay. Bike works perfectly now…………So this bike would be a 3 star if Firmstrong had not taken action, it is now a 5 star bike. Bike now works perfectly, it is very smooth, perhaps the smoothest riding bike I have ever owned, the steering is great, I love the cruiser handlebars, since the allow me to ride upright instead of bent over like some hunchback………….and the saddle is very wide and comfy for my large butt. If you are into comfort, this is your bike! I am tired on those bikes where you have to lay flat on top of them and your butt is so sore from those horrible hard seats you cannot even enjoy the bike ride.Kenneth W.

I was scouring Craigslist for a deal on a Schwinn Cruiser, but ended up purchasing an Urban Man cruiser via the Firmstrong website when I realized I could get something new, lighter and customized to my needs for a few dollars more. Solid bike! Well packaged, few minor scratches on painted surfaces. Bike seems to be well made with good components (bearings, hub and crank. Bike looks great and is light for a beach cruiser. I should have bought this bike 5 years ago instead of the 2 others that I bought and ended up replacing due to poor components. I usually average about 30 miles a week as a cool down from work-outs. Previous cheap big box store bikes usually lost spokes and the brake hub had issues and never felt right. I think it will last me a while!David F.

I bought this bike clearly for looks. When it arrived it had the wrong size fender (made for a smaller wheel) so now I am riding around with only one fender, which looks ridiculous. I've called Hayneedle and am waiting for a response. Additionally the seat is surprisingly really uncomfortable. I couldn't ride for more than 20 minutes due to needing a break from the seat. I probably would not have purchased this bike if I had known prior to buying it.John

My only dislike, as I sit on it writing to you, is….I am not the only person who is using it. Why didnt they make it more simple to adjust the length???? It is a pain to have to get underneath and undo it and unscrewing a screw. It has left dents in the metal rod, making me think it will not stay tight in time!Laura

Not being able to see the bike in person before purchasing was an issue but it turned out to be exactly as advertised. The assembly was simple and did not take very long. The bike appears to be well made and so far it has worked well. the only negative is that the friction control is not linear but it is completely silent.albert

Its an exercise bike that you do your exercise on. The only dislike is the pedal straps. They don't fit every size shoes. The app for it is another story. I downloaded it and went through a lot of trouble getting started with it. What I read says it has all these features. Where they are who knows. Also the instruction could have been better. None of the wires are marked as in which goes to which. So all you can do is guess and hope it works. I'm not sure about if the tensioner is working or not.robert

The crank("Prowheel") and pedals are of really poor quality!! The left pedal fell off during the very first ride! Thankfully, I didn't hurt myself. Upon a closer inspection, I noticed whoever pre-assembled the bike did not fit the pedals properly and both the L/R pedal and crank threads were damaged. For anyone still wanting to buy this bike please check the crank and pedals at a bike shop and maybe upgrade them to a Shimano crank for your own safety! Its a shame because the rest of bike i.e the Shimano tourney F/R derailleurs,the bike frame, wheels are pretty decent quality.Krishna

The bike is aluminum which makes it a good candidate for adding an e-bike kit. Has very nice disk brakes, and 700C wheels with wider tires. The bike has a "Limited Lifetime Warranty, with some restrictions." The detail and workmanship are excellent. Packaging was well thought out and thorough to ensure no damage. The price was right too; this bike in a local bike shop would sell for $200 – $300 more than Walmart charges.Denny

This is easily one of the best bikes I've ever owned. I purchased an Schwinn aluminum comp previously but that bike had all sorts of issues with the front derailleur failing to shift properly. I returned it and ordered this one instead. This was $199 when I ordered it while the aluminum comp was $224 at the time of this review. Here's how the Kempo compares to the Aluminum Comp: – Shimano Tourney front derailleur (FD-TY510) vs generic front derailleur on the al comp. All 3 gears in the front shifts properly. Even the Schwinn Boundary uses a generic FD and that one's almost $50 dollars more than the Kempo. – Shimano Tourney rear derailleur with cable guide (RD-TY500) vs Tourney derailleur (RD-TY300) on the al comp. – Shimano 7-speed rear freewheel compared to al comp is a non-shimano freewheel. – Trigger shifts is a step up on the Kempo ST-EF500 vs ST-EF41 on the al comp. Braking lever on the Kempo is metal alloy compared to hard plastic on al comp. Schwinn Boundary also uses ST-EF500 btw. – Front and rear 160mm mechanical disc brakes. – The al comp has a front suspension fork while Kempo has a rigid fork. Not a big deal for me since I mostly ride on road. I hardly do any trail riding. The stock suspension fork that's on most big box bikes aren't really any good anyway; it'll have to be replaced with a real suspension fork if you plan on doing real trails. – Better grips on the handle bars. It's the triple density ergo grips that you'd probably buy to replace the stock grips other bikes comes with. It has a nice accent red so fits very well with the color scheme. – Quick release for the front *and* rear wheel. The al comp only has quick release for the front wheel. – Kempo is definitely lighter. I find it much easier to petal than the al comp. I haven't weight the Kempo on a scale but people are putting it at ~29lbs which is believable. Almost like a night and day difference. – Kempo and al comp both has a threadless stem w/ handlebar secured with 4 hex bolts. – The wields and paint finish is really nice on the Kempo. Compared to other bikes where the logo and design are sticker-ed on. – The stock saddle is harder on the Kempo than the al comp. This bike is great value under $250. At $200 and $149 for the women version of the Kempo this bike is a complete steal. I would say this bike is on par with a LBS entry level bike that cost 2-3 times more. Everything on this bike is usable without really needing a replacement except maybe the seat saddle. Just try to find another bike in this price range with these specs, you can't. 5 stars all the way.Greatwolf

I bought this bike for road treks and I have been happy. There are two sets of hand brakes, so you can comfortably ride low or high and be able to break. It shifts easily and is great going up hill. It is a sturdy bike and lightweight.Bkdavis89

This is a pretty good bike for the most part. It is really for a casual bike rider not so much a long distance rider. It's a bit heavy for long distance but seems to be pretty good quality with the exception of the tires. I think we'll probably replace them with some good quality ones since my husband does ride quite a bit. He generally rides somewhat long distances (more than 10-15 miles) but because he's risen professionally, he can handle the weight at least semi regularly. Thank you Influenster!heather.h

The Roam 2 is much like an SUV: pretty good at a lot of everyday tasks. With over 2700 miles on mine I can confirm it's a rugged all-rounder. If, however, you're looking for sustained high speed (say over 18 mph) this is not the ticket. Nor is it meant for shredding gnarly single-track trails. But the disc brakes and wider tires make it a solid choice for everyday riding on pavement and light off-roading. If you can drive your SUV on it, the Roam 2 will handle the path safely, with ease and comfort.Retired Rider

Recently bought a Roam 0 and absolutely love it. I use it for town and light off-road cycling (farm/gravel tracks) and it is great. I've used it every day since I got it and it's gobbled-up everything I've thrown at it. Whilst I live in a pretty flat area (Central Beds) the hills I encounter have posed no problem. And the ride is smooth even on the farm tracks – thanks to the Suntour forks. The disc brakes are sharp and have absolutely been called upon due to selfish motorists and an over-excited puppy who took a shine to my tyres whilst they were spinning in the rain 🤣. I am on the cusp of Medium and Large frame size, opted for large as the ride position felt good. It was the right choice as the visibility is excellent in busy town traffic but without being to stiff. The finish is eye catching and unusual (photos don't to it justice). Highly recommend, I'm a happy cyclist.GalactusHelmet

I have had the bike a little over a month now and I am very happy with it. I am surprised how much faster it is than my old bike. Thinking this is a combination of how light the bike is and the larger size wheels. About a year ago we moved into a very nice golf community with a lot of different amenities that are bike ride from our home. My daughter and I ride our bikes to her school as well. So, I went from hardly ever riding a bike, to now very consistently and I wanted a nice bike, and I got it. Very satisfied with the quality of the bike for the price point. When looking for a bike, I would see ones in big box stores that were almost like eye candy, but after going home and reading reviews on them, they all had consistent problems that I would see over and over on different peoples reviews. That made me realize I was going to have to spend a little more than I initially thought to get a good bike. I didn't mind spending a little more for a quality bike I am sure I will use for a long, long time. I am really happy with the bike, it is a Giant Roam in the garnet color. Oh yeah, it is also a very good looking bike as well. From what I have read online and the local bike shop I sent the bike to to have it assembled, they both said these bikes run pretty large. I am 5'8" tall and ordered the small frame version and it fits me well. If you can go to a bike shop and test fit the size, that may be best. I happened to be in Augutsa Ga and was able to do this to verify the medium was too big for me.Jeff

Best bang for the buck given the specs for the price. Lightweight frame and hydraulic brakes for $300! You're never going to see that in the future so get this bike while it lasts. Bought this as a project bike. I recommend changing the grips and pedals right away. You can also convert it to a single speed up front with 9 speeds in the rear. You should also look into changing the tires right away if you're going to ride in rough terrain. I run Nobby Nics 29×2.25 in the front and rear and it is perfect for this bike. Front and Rear 20 PSI, rides like a dream.Daniil

I'm really impressed with the bike. It exceeded all of my expectations at this price level. 1. Fast shipping, the bike was well packed/protected (not a single scratch), everything easy to assemble and working out of the box. 2. The frame seems to be relatively light, love the paint job and the frame fits me pretty well (I'm 5'11" and ordered a 19") 3. The hydraulic disc brakes are awesome. 4. Wheels and tires are ok, they will do the job 5. The drive train is OK, but not made for rough trail rides. Expect a lot of chain slap and dropped chains. 6. I have been under biking for a while, riding gravel bikes on single track trails, so having some suspension is awesome, I recon the fork could be better, but I'm not changing in the near future unless it breaks.Miguel

Purchased the bike just over a month ago and took it out immediately for a quick ride before I started the single speed transformation. Frame geometry is modern, through frame cable routing, and hydraulic brakes for $399?? What a steal! Bike is now a single speed with new wheel set, stem, bars, tubeless tires, new front fork, and dropper post and it's amazing!! If you are looking for a light frame with hydraulic brakes for a project bike, look no further. Very happy with my purchase and as always, The House doesn't disappoint!Rafael

Left brake lever is making noise the entire time you ride this bike! I'm not talking about squealing sound from brake pads when you press the lever, no. I'm actually talking about a constant noise coming from the lever itself when you actually don't press it! It's like something is lose inside the left lever and even if you ride on an asphalt road it makes the noise the entire time. As a matter of fact, the only time it's not making the noise is when you press the lever to brake! It's so annoying. Also, the saddle is very uncomfortable, so I decided to try the saddle from my other bike on it, however I couldn't unscrew it! (to remove or adjust the saddle)! It's so overtightened in the factory that it's impossible to unscrew it! And believe me I'm not weak! I'm a man with enough muscle to unscrew these things and I'm into biking for years. There were also some chipped paints on the bike when I received it (I picked up the bike today from store). Overall, a big disappointment and waste of time. I'm returning this bike. In my opinion this is a very overpriced low quality bike from a big brand. I've had a higher expectation from Cannondale. Good thing that I bought it from REI, at least I have peace of mind that I can get my money back and purchase a better bike.Life12

I got tired of the drop bar position of my last road bike and decided to try the disc 3. With a few minor changes I'm pretty happy. I swapped the cassette out for a Shimano 11/36 for better climbing and got a slightly wider bar than the stock bar. The disc 3 is fairly light and the steering is very fast, meaning I've got to watch that i don't overreact when entering a sharp turn. Overall its a fun bike and i can take it anywhere i used to ride my old Topstone,Lazlo

Light, agile, responsive, and fun! The SP connection built into the handlebar mount is great. My phone locks in and off I go. The Cannondale app works well and was easy to set up with the sensor already mounted in the wheel. It gives gives excellent instant feedback. The geometry is good for me, I’m a 5’5” female with shorter legs and longer torso. So far, I’ve only done city riding loops of 10-15 miles at a time. This is my for fun riding bike.Kenneyc
