I absolutely love this bike. I have always wanted a beach cruiser but women’s cruisers are generally not made for tall women. Enter ThreeSixZero and their genius inclusion of a “will this bike fit my body” calculator on their website. I entered my height and weight and it gave me a list of all the cruisers that would work for me. I was able to buy with confidence that I wouldn’t be smacking my knees on the handlebars. I chose the single speed because there is some assembly required and I didn’t want to deal with brake lines or complicated gears. The bike came very well packaged and was really easy to put together; I was riding my bike within an hour of opening the box! My husband was instantly jealous of my new ride and I ended up getting him his own cruiser (again using the calculator since he’s quite tall) for Valentine’s Day. Now we take rides together any chance we get, and often choose to ride our bikes to the store instead of wasting gas taking a car. I can’t recommend this company enough!RisW
I purchased the Around the Block Men's Bicycle. I had one issue when tightening the saddle so that it did not tilt downward when sitting on it. I tried to lock it down, but overtightened one side until the threads deteriorated and the nut popped off. This was my fault, and I should have tightened both sides evenly. I mention this because the customer service to replace the saddle was fantastic and I did not have any issues tightening as intended after receiving a new saddle, which was shipped promptly. But after getting the saddle secured, I had an issue tuning the braking mechanism on the rear tire. The rear tire itself was warped to where I had to choose between rubbing slightly on the brakes every revolution, or opening the brakes so much that it had no braking power. It took a lot of tuning, but I eventually found a brake setting with minimal rub and moderate braking power, and just relied on the front brakes after that. I have no doubt the customer service would have also responded to this issue, but after the saddle thing I kind of wanted to figure it out myself. Still, the rear wheel did come warped and I could have pursued getting a new one. Everything else was good and the frame and gear mechanism seemed like quality parts. Due to the warped tire, I would give 3/5 but the customer service is 5/5 so average review is 4/5.curtisbrian2

I purchased an Around the Block, 7-speed bike for my wife. I have to say that it was a great choice for her. I wasn't scared of the fact that you have to assemble the bike but was dreading the process. I have to say that the entire assembly procedure was easy. Much of the bike is preassembled. The accompanying assembly booklet is well organized and instructions are very clear on what to do and pointing out the pitfalls to watch out for with certain steps. But I found the online assembly video most helpful, being able to listen to and see the step as it was being done. Being able to stop the video and complete the step was very helpful. All in all, assembly was a piece of cake! Quality: first rate construction. Comfort: my wife loves the bike and how it feels. Color choices: very cool! It's very comfortable on long rides. I bought my Around The Block men's bike in June 2020 as the pandemic quarantine lifestyle made clear that I needed a new form of exercise. I haven't ridden a bike for like almost 2 decades. This bike was EXACTLY what I needed. First, it was super light and easy to put together which was a major plus given that we had it delivered to our home. Also, the paint finish (I got Olive Oat) was just elegant and modern. I love the appearance. Most importantly, the ergonomic design really is a revolution in how I ride bikes (they have a nice video by the CEO about their design philosophy…this video really got me curious to try their bikes). To put it simply, I grew up riding bikes with my upper body and arms crouched low and forward. This bike designs it's pedal orientation and handle bars to force you to sit upright (head high) and your pedal motion to be forward of your torso. Honestly, it took a few rides to get comfortable in this position (my muscle memory tried to keep me arching forward which took some mental training to stop). Now that I am used to it, I can 100% attest that this bike design is the CORRECT riding position for leisure biking. My back feels like a million dollars riding this like this and, moreover, keeping your head up and your hands forward really catches the sunlight, scapes and breezes and it feels like the aesthetic pay off of riding in a top-down convertible! I heard about this brand/bike from my sister in MI. She got an AroundtheBlock version and told me all about it and urged me to get one too. I ordered an EVRYjourney 7 speed. I ordered it on Jun 26 and received it earlier than expected on July 3rd ( I am in CA). I was so excited to get this bike and give it a try. My last bike was a normal mountain style bike that was not comfortable to ride for a long period of time. My son (who has put together thousands of bikes for his job) put my bike together quickly and easily and I was off riding away. This bike is like riding in luxury; it’s comfortable, easy to shift and I can ride it for a reasonable amount of time with ease. I'm a 46 y/o wife & mom who has struggled with chronic often debilitating pain for more than 15 years. I underwent a three level cervical discectomy and spinal fusion. The recumbent bike is fantastic!. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. The bike came together without any problems. The bike has a terrific look and feel. Entering personal info for my wife and me (age, gender, weight and height) was easy. Following the embedded workout programs was also very uncomplicated. The seat is large and the foam padding is very comfortable even for hour-long workouts. I like the heart monitor built into to the sidebar grips makes tracking aerobic aspect of the workout simple. At 71 y/o and with arthritis in my knees bilaterally, I had to give up my 3-mile walks. This recumbent bike is very easy on my knees (not to mention my lower lumbar back). I like and use the builtin iPad/tablet stand for reading and watching videos while pumping away. Also, I like the sleek, narrow design – fits in against the wall minimizing its footprint in the room. Glad I purchased this bike. It's getting lots of use. I would highly recommend without any reservations.Michael
I especially chose a recumbent bike because of the low impact to the knees versus an upright bike. I drive a lot and the recumbent bike has helped alleviate the lower back and hip pains. I was concerned about the quality and durability especially w/2 sons that workout all the time. It turned out to be a very heavy duty gym quality bike and reasonably priced. My other concern was w/my husband's response and he loved it more than anyone else because of the low impact to his bad knee.Happy Customer

I bought both a 26" 7-speed and 24" 3-speed Urban lady for my daughters. No issue with the 24". I think the 26" may have been a refurbished item. When I received it, the front brake was not assembled and since there were no directions on brake assembly (not just adjustment) I assume it wasn't supposed to be that way. I also noticed that on the 24" there was a removable plastic film over the gear indicator. That was not present on the 26" gear indicator. Plus there were some light scratches on the underside of the gear selector knob. Also, the gear selector knob took much more effort to downshift than I expected and what is required on the 24". Not impossible to shift, and it seems to shift smoothly, just takes much more effort and a bit of a nuisance. On the 26" 7-speed, I was unimpressed with the brake and wheel. The front wheel seemed not quite truly round which made the wheel stick to the brake. It took a lot of fiddling with the brake to get it acceptable. The 24" bike was no problem and is just fine. I'm glad I have both to compare to one another which makes me think the 26" was a refurb.William T.

I was scouring Craigslist for a deal on a Schwinn Cruiser, but ended up purchasing an Urban Man cruiser via the Firmstrong website when I realized I could get something new, lighter and customized to my needs for a few dollars more. Went with the single speed in chrome with decals removed. The purchase process was easy and price was right. I love the way it looks and rides, and it's extremely comfortable. Solid bike! Well packaged, few minor scratches on painted surfaces. Bike seems to be well made with good components (bearings, hub and crank. Bike looks great and is light for a beach cruiser. I should have bought this bike 5 years ago instead of the 2 others that I bought and ended up replacing due to poor components. I usually average about 30 miles a week as a cool down from work-outs. Previous cheap big box store bikes usually lost spokes and the brake hub had issues and never felt right. I think it will last me a while!David F.
I bought this bike clearly for looks. When it arrived it had the wrong size fender (made for a smaller wheel) so now I am riding around with only one fender, which looks ridiculous. I've called Hayneedle and am waiting for a response. Additionally the seat is surprisingly really uncomfortable. I couldn't ride for more than 20 minutes due to needing a break from the seat. I probably would not have purchased this bike if I had known prior to buying it.John

I really like this bike but there are some issues I have with it. It's really heavy and large, so it's hard to fit into a car (I drive an SUV and it doesnt fit!). It doesn't do hills very well either, but it's a fun bike to cruise around the neighbourhood on, very comfortable and doesn't hurt my back.ZoeyBats
I’ve been using mine almost every day for almost 2 months… the major pro is definitely how cute it looks. The color, the curved shapes, the brown saddle that complements the turquoise perfectly while being also extremely comfy. However, the lack of speeds makes it a not-so-fun ride if you’re biking against the wind and pedalling downhill is a useless endeavour because… again… this bike only has one spee … it’s also really heavy. BUT. IT’S SO CUTE. Urgh.

I had this bike originally shipped to my house. I put it together and discovered the back rim was bent and made it impossible to ride. I took the bike back to the local store and all they told me they could do is credit me the cost less the shipping costs I originally paid ($30) because the bike is out of stock in the store. However, for some reason they seem to have the bike in-stock to ship to your house but can’t ship it to their local store. So, in my stupidly to have a pink bike for my girlfriend I ordered the bike again and paid the extra $30 shipping cost again. Well, I assembled the bike and discovered the front rim on the replacement bike is bent. WOW… watch out ordering this bike and having it delivered to your residence. Everyone was so right about this bike! I am so impressed with how nice this bike is. The material that was used is heavy duty! I decided to purchase this bike after an exhaustive searching and researching spin bikes. After a hiatus from fitness, I remember very well what a quality bike should look like. The 1805 met every checkbox I had and the price was great. It's sturdy, has all the functionality I wanted, and combined with an HR monitor, cadence monitor, and Peloton App I can get an exceptional cardio workout right from my own home! Another bike I considered where the L1 Spinner. I wanted durable, low maintenance, and a no-frills experience. Something reminiscent of the various gym spin bikes of the past. I just assembled and used my bike so this is an initial assessment. 1. Delivery was fast! 2. Packaging was exceptional. 3. Assembly instructions were very clear. There are very few steps so the process is easy. All parts went together easily (I.e. no misaligned holes, etc). 4. The seat was surprisingly comfortable. 5. I got a great workout with only three turns of the resistance knob. (Each turn moves the knob halfway around. The knob can be turned 16 times, so 8 full rotations.) 6. The handlebar isn’t padded. Some may like this but I had to use a towel. I might add padding. 7. Build-quality seems very high. As the title says, I definitely would recommend this bike.BK

probably have to tinker with it a little to get it just so, the seat… probably needs a better one… if u value your assets, tighten ALL the fitting on it with the appropriate size wrench (u do have tools, yes? ) I will probably get a CHEAP/WIDE $5 inner tube, cut the valve stem out of it and use it as a tread/tube liner so that thorns do not puncture the tire/tube; put it between the inner tube that is in there and the BACK tire… as I wud any bike as thorns are prevalent here and fixing 7 flats in 3 days because I was CHEAP and didn't get the HEVI WATE INNER TUBES on my last NEW bike was …. and education to do IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME so I didn't have to do it again… and again and again. SLIME is hard to get into the tires through the NARROW hole in the air thingy even with the Schrader valve removed. LOCKS, U LOCKS AND HEVI WATE CHAIN… if u want to keep the bike; as sometimes they ride off by themselves if left anywhere. cable "locks" are ornaments (don't ask how I KNOW this) and not worth throwing out. some gearheads have taken the bearings apart and greased them and have said they are tightened TOO TIGHT from the factory, but DO NOT LOSE THE BEARINGS!!! carpet catches bearings, hard floors=scattered bearings=bad. tires are said to be HEAVY compared to after market, but that is not all bad as once get the tires rolling… INERTIA KEEPS THEM ROLLING with a little effort so that is good. like kicking the clutch out on a BIG TRUCK on the highway… it will coast a LONG WAY with all that weigh/inertia built up in its mass/wheels/tires.18LiterDETROITDIESEL
First of all, it sure is a slap in the face to see the price drop $17 just two weeks after I got it. Now then, my experience has been much the same as other reviews. It is a barely "OK" bike, I guess for the money nowadays. It is built and billed as a "Mountain Bike" which is the furthest thing I intend to use it for. From what I gather, you would have to add another zero to the price to get a genuine, usable mountain bike. I am 68 years old wanting to get some exercise. And when I saw this Fat Tire bike, I had to have it. It is the closest I have seen to the old (even then) bike I had as a kid in the fifties and sixties. I will probably end up spending as much extra to make the bike marginally usable, as the bike cost to start with. It is in the shop right now and I'm not doing that much yet. The seat if terrible. The brakes, we'll have to see after they are adjusted right. I have a new seat ready to put on when I get it back. I had the shop put on a steering riser (probably not right term) to raise the handlebars. Keeping original bar for now but may have to replace that too. And replacing the brake levers. If the brakes don't improve (a lot!!) I'll either replace them, or sell the whole bike and get something else. I even got new pedals. The reflectors on the original pedals break off easily. The shifter is a PITA because it wants to change as you are gripping the bar. It should have been a lever or something. And high gear is not even as high as my old single speed. What good is THAT? I guess what it boils down to is that it is impossible to buy a Fat Tire Mountain Bike for $200 that is not a joke even for just plain riding down the street, let alone riding in the mountains.Tinman98
Due to its tubular steel frame, the 26 inch Mongoose Dolomite seven speed fat bicycle is heavier than 26 inch fat bicycles constructed of aluminium or carbon fiber. However, a new aluminium fat bicycle frames will cost no less than $900.00; carbon fiber fat bicycle frames prices start at about $2,000. As a direct result of the enormous price difference I decided to purchase the Dolomite just to try out a fat bicycle with the full entention of purchasing a far more expensive model if I enjoyed the larger design. I was surprisingly blown away! The Dolomite had arrived at my front door in only two days. I discovered assembly to be rather simple, but as a safety measure I walked the Dolomite ten blocks to my neighbourhood bicycle repair store for an overall examination; at the bicycle shop both disc brakes were properly calibrated, grease was added to the handle bar support collar, a water bottle cage was placed onto the frame, tires were inflated to proper pressure and then were placed in their recommended rotational direction. Finally, the seat pole was adjusted to a safe and comfortable height. I paid my service charge, quickly place my helmet on and then brought my bicycle onto the New York City streets. The ride was so comfortable due to the large amount of inflated rubber between the road bed and the large 4 inch rims. In addition, at slow speeds and at accelerated speeds the tires are constantly providing exceptional traction; I remained in full control of the bicycle as I effortlessly floated above the New York City man hole covers, large steel plate covers, pot holes and the ubiquitous sewer drainage grids. The weight of the bicycle is an attribute when descending steep hills, but when ascending hills be prepared to pump vigorously. The gears do shift rather accurately to their corresponding numbers, but not the smoothest shift. Due to its price, aesthetics, quality of design and durability I strongly recommend the Mongoose Dolomite Men's 7 Speed Bicycle.JNemorin

My initial reaction to the Volare’s weight was ‘wow’, since at 29.1lbs this bike must have professional team mechanics worrying how to bring it up to the UCI’s minimum weight limit. Short rises and long steep climbs virtually cease to exist as the Volare 1300 refuses to recognise elevation changes. It’s a bike that quicksteps up climbs, and any time you want to change pace, it’s begging to be unleashed. Even pointing the Volare 1300 at the most uneven, rutted stretches of tarmac has little effect on ride quality. Vibration and big bump absorption is impressive. Necessary line changes and flicks around obstacles are virtually telepathic, needing little more than a weight shift. Descending is confident, the positive front end feel, ideal position and effective braking combining to keep things calm and composed. The Shimano A050 shifters and 14-speed drivetrain soon becomes second nature too. Even if you think you’ll need lower gearing, the Voltare’s seemingly inbuilt speed multiplies your efforts and saves energy — I tend to extend al my rides simply because I feel my intended routes are not enough. Whether digging deep on a climb or sprinting for a village sign, I didn’t once feel the bike was lacking in performance, but did wish I could unlock more of the Voltare 1300’s potential. I raced this bike in over 14 Cat-1 races this season, 3 of them stage races covering mountainous distances of over 1000kms and not once did the bike feel out of place. Pull the brake levers and there's none of that momentary anxiety about when they're going to bite, and that means you can leave your braking that little bit later going into a tight bend. I've also been doing some commuting into the office on this bike and it is great in traffic too. It performs almost as well in the wet as it does in the dry, and that gives you plenty of reassurance when nipping about on urban roads in rush hour.
Overall, I was pleased with this bicycle. I very much liked the click gear shifters and the road tires. After hitting a pothole on one of our local, poor-quality Illinois service roads and seeing my first flat, I was surprised. After removing the tire and tube, I noticed a metal shaving from the air valve hole still resting within the wheel! I would not have expected that kind of sloppiness from a Schwinn, even if they are all made in China now. That aside, the bike is a real pleasure, and my travel times have definitely improved against my cheap Wal-Mart Roadmaster! If you don't mind some tinkering with the brakes and a little assembly on arrival, it's hard to beat the overall quality.misterb-13
This is a very good bike for the price. Target card gives you a 5%discount, which is a plus. For a 1st road bike, i would recommend this bike. Only 2 reasons why I do not give it 5 stars is because of the following reason: 1) I cannot give it 4.5 2) some issues with the gears and breaks which need to be tweaked. I would recommend taking it to the bike shop if you can for assembly. I work on cars, and this didn't scare me so I worked it out myself. With the price in mind, you will be hard pressed to get an equivalent bike for the price. If you have $400-500 to spend or want to spend at least that much, then go for something else like a Trek or Specialized.TKam DE

To be fair, my previous cruiser was a Trek however it was 12+ years old and time for a replacement. I also needed more gears to handle the more hilly neighborhood I moved to. I had high hopes for this bike after reading reviews. While it is cute, the quality meets the price. I am asking a lot of this bike, pulling a child trailer that can weigh upwards of 80lbs loaded with a toddler and our beach gear. However with my Trek, I never felt like the actual bike couldn't handle it or that it could bend or break. With this bike, I do get nervous and am doing silent prayers on the 2 mile roundtrip ride. The seat is not the easiest to adjust, after I had a bike shop put it together they adjusted the seat without me testing it after (don't recommend that btw) and so I tried adjusting it when I got home. It still becomes loose while riding after tightening repeatedly. Overall, if you are just pleasure riding it's probably fine. If you want any utility out of this, keep looking. I think I will give this one to my 17 year old daughter and keep searching for me and the toddler/gear. For the price, I feel like the quality matches.Robin C.
An OK beach cruiser, but to be expected at this price point. The bike is very nice to look at and is a nice color scheme. I’d say the bike is a little heavy for an aluminum frame. Does not do a great job of handling even the smallest bumps. Also, the packaging was very disappointing. Huge hole in the box with gear chamber exposed and scratched. The plastic guards that are supposed to protect the bike were all snapped and laying at bottom of the box. It certainly seemed to me that this was a returned bike that was re-packaged.Thomas K.
I love the bike overall. Not hard to assemble, although the instruction details could have been worded and demonstrated better. The style is classic beach cruiser. Ease of speed. The outcome is decent, except for the reflectors that I received were broken in transit. Emailed the company in regards to the reflectors and they wanted pictures of the broken items. Not a problem, however, I just spent over $500 for the bike and basket. And they're acting as if I'm trying to get over on them about some reflectors. First off, I am 74 years old. The reason I am telling you this is because younger persons will not need to consider some of the things I'm going to type. It is heavy lifting onto a bike rack but if I can do it, you should be able to do it. I think the next time I lift it on or off the rack I will remove the battery as to shed some weight. The adventure itself was a blast. Love the big tires, neighbor calls them Gangster. Smooths out the ride quite a bit. I stiffened the front suspension quite a bit for better control at higher speeds. Electric power is great for a person of my age and there is enough to climb high grades. I used all sorts of configurations of power assist and gearing. Assist 3 and midrange on my shifter was average. I rode sidewalks like when I was a kid and rode through the grass on a soccer field, climbed a large berm, and enjoyed a gravel road. all in 6.9 miles. Loved every minute of it. As I get into better shape, I will extend my rides and become even more adventurous. Fit and finish is what I expected.James S.
Purchased my 2nd Sinch in March 2022. This time it was the Red step through. Previous purchase was the 2021 step over. Wow! Where do I start? The step over model was the most fun I have had on a bike in the last 30 years… until I bought the step through. Everything is just a little better. The frame geometry is even more comfortable, the tires quiet and cushy, the handling responsive, the gearing and brakes smooth and quiet, folding is easy, battery removal easy, and obviously getting off and on is easy with the step through frame. Construction of the previous model was great, the construction and attention to detail on the new step through is over the top. The pedal assist has been tuned to make the take off smoother, and I have over all better control of my peddle assist levels, and shifting. Put over 900 miles on the step over. Already have 50 on the step through. Have thoroughly ridden and tested both models. I am 5'11" and 290lb and this bike performs great. Not just on flat ground, but on hills as well. The upright riding position allows me to see all around me and even easily glance up to see the occasional eagle or hawk. Recently purchased the Sinch and the Sinch Step-Thru. These are amazing bikes. The work fantastic. The construction is fantastic. A very solid bike with amazing tires, giving the otherwise smaller wheel size the feel of a serious motorcycle. The range is great, even with the hilly areas in the California central coast, we can still take amazing rides with lots of climbing – without range anxiety. It should be noted that these bikes are NOT light, even though they are folding bikes. The idea of folding them and transporting them in a trunk is possible, but it's not as simple as lifting a suitcase into a trunk. That aside, we absolutely love our Sinch bikes. I acquired this bike as a winter trainer and it has more than fulfilled my expectations. Delivery was very quick and well organised – I cannot remember buying a bike with less hassle. The bike itself is beautifully balanced and the geometry is well conceived. For a gravel bike it performs well on the road. The most notable feature is the splayed handlebars – the improvement in stability is remarkable. I have a prejudice agianst disc brakes but these are sensitive and responsive. Gear ratios are well chosen and the GRX400 is suitably robust for rural Wales. My only disappointment is the tyres. Brilliant grip but very soft and the deep tread picks up thorns. I have had 4 punctures in the first two weeks! Tubeless tyres may be a better option. But overall, I am delighted.Bob E.
Bought a L (6ft2) and its a great fit. I am on the way to achieving over 100km easily on a single charge using mostly level 1, and very seldom level 2/3 on steeper gradients. An average cyclist will easily keep the momentum just over 25kph on the flat sections, which means using less battery and getting far more than the advertised 75km range. It doesn't feel like 13.5kg of bike and rolls really well (almost as good as my Ridley Kanzo Fast Gravel). The motor is there to assist , and I find it especially useful on the stop/starts of gravel and bridleway riding. Sweet spot seems to be 18-23kph. Motor shuts down over 25kph and there is minimal drag when not engaged. This is not a big bulky Bosch style motor , its a gentle assist when you pedal at level 1 helping you go further with less fatigue. Use level 2/3 for short/sharp gradients if needed. Aim to keep your ride average just over 25kph and this will give you more of a workout than any standard gravel bike..in case you are worried what your mates will say about going for an e-bike. Great build quality and lots of mount points for luggage etc. Only change I made was better, more padded bar tape and Panaracer Gravelking SK+Tubeless setup (38")ceverson25
First off, love the bike! Everything in the bike works as expected. The ride is pretty smooth but I changed the tyres for commuting on path rather than factory tyres which can be noisy and slow. The position is really good for my commute 40 minutes each way. I used to do the same in my non e bike and at the end of the week the way home was tough… no more! Just press the button and let the bike take over or help. The GRX 600 train is so good. Really quick in transitions and the breaking power so powerful and responsive. My only small issue with the bike (and it might be a one off) is the attention to derails during the assembly. The two screws on the mech hanger were not properly tightened and resulted in some play after a few weeks. I also have some rattling noises from the internal cables. The most annoying might be the sensor cable running in the chain stay tube, it doesn't look like it is properly secured. It rattles against the tube on any surfaces that is not very smooth. Small annoyance compared to the overall experience but could be so simple to fix by cannondale…E commuter101

Size – I want to throw out there that I'm 6'6" with a 39" inseam, and I weigh probably 230ish with all my gear on. The S6 is about just an inch short for me, but the bike shop says I can remedy that with a longer dropper post. Experience – I have ridden my 2022 Stumpjumper alloy (Black) S6 4-5 times now. Most of my riding is on moderate (blue) or difficult (black) trails with a mixture of flow/jumps and techy sections. Since 2009, I have been riding a Specialized Rockhopper base model. I didn't realize that it was an XC bike, and I was riding it like it was a class 4 trail bike. I abused the S*** out of that bike until the drivetrain and suspension were shot. Thus, the upgrade. With all that being said, I'm loving my Stumpjumper Alloy. It is an amazing difference. I will recommend if you have the cash, upgrade to the Stumpjumper Alloy Comp (assuming it becomes available again). For the following reasons: – My cable disk brakes on my rockhopper have less travel in the hand lever to obtain the stopping power you need. I dare say it might actually have more stopping power. New brakes will be one of the first upgrades. – I wish the drivetrain shifting was a little tighter and smoother. However, it has never slipped or failed to shift. I'm really nit picking here. Overall, it is a solid bike, and I don't regret my purchase. I would also recommend it to a friend. Just know the braking will take some getting used to. You can adjust the brake lever position which helps. Realize that you are getting a full suspension class 4 trail bike for less than $3,000. Great entry level bike.Jeff E.
I’m 58, 6’1” 180 lbs and purchased the S4 version of this bike. Tried the S5 but it just felt too big for me. I’ve ridden it now for almost a year mostly on local single track. I can honestly say that at my age the Stumpjumper has transformed my off road experience. The suspension is very supple and easy to adjust and the brakes have great stopping power and have worked just fine for me. The only issue I had with this bike was the rear derailleur which wasn’t very precise and skipped back and forth between gears a lot no matter how it was adjusted. Being a cheaper derailleur this wasn’t unexpected. I replaced it with a SRAM GX and those issues are gone. That is the only upgrade I would recommend out of the box. Everything else has been fine and I would highly recommend this bike to anyone on a tighter budget who still wants a high quality bike. I would certainly make this purchase again. Frame and geometry are exceptional. Brakes and rear shock… not so much. I bought this bike because I could not find a comp model anywhere. I rode the bike stock first to get a feel for how it was and it rode pretty good and I think someone lighter than me (230lbs) could easily ride it stock and enjoy it. The tektro bakes were okay but lacked the power I am used to- I immediately swapped on G2 RS brakes that I had taken off of my previous bike. The rear shock was okay at best- very hard to get to work the way I wanted since you can’t add volume spacers and there are very few adjustments. With that said I rode it for almost a year before upgrading to a Fox DPS performance elite which has transformed how the bike rides and rear end handles. The SX drivetrain is okay, just isn’t the smoothest or fastest shifting. The stock fork is actually not bad if you’re not picky. I immediately rebuilt mine with sks wipers, fresh fluid and lube. Every few rides I also use some wpo forkboost which helps with some of the stiction. I really like the stock tires. My previous bikes I ran minions and these have a little less grip but less rolling resistance so it’s a trade off. Overall this bike is great and in my opinion is worth upgrading and holding onto for a few years. Every single ride I come back to the truck grinning like an idiot from how much fun this bike is to ride.David
