probably have to tinker with it a little to get it just so, the seat… probably needs a better one… if u value your assets, tighten ALL the fitting on it with the appropriate size wrench (u do have tools, yes? ) I will probably get a CHEAP/WIDE $5 inner tube, cut the valve stem out of it and use it as a tread/tube liner so that thorns do not puncture the tire/tube; put it between the inner tube that is in there and the BACK tire… as I wud any bike as thorns are prevalent here and fixing 7 flats in 3 days because I was CHEAP and didn't get the HEVI WATE INNER TUBES on my last NEW bike was …. and education to do IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME so I didn't have to do it again… and again and again. SLIME is hard to get into the tires through the NARROW hole in the air thingy even with the Schrader valve removed. LOCKS, U LOCKS AND HEVI WATE CHAIN… if u want to keep the bike; as sometimes they ride off by themselves if left anywhere. cable "locks" are ornaments (don't ask how I KNOW this) and not worth throwing out. some gearheads have taken the bearings apart and greased them and have said they are tightened TOO TIGHT from the factory, but DO NOT LOSE THE BEARINGS!!! carpet catches bearings, hard floors=scattered bearings=bad. tires are said to be HEAVY compared to after market, but that is not all bad as once get the tires rolling… INERTIA KEEPS THEM ROLLING with a little effort so that is good. like kicking the clutch out on a BIG TRUCK on the highway… it will coast a LONG WAY with all that weigh/inertia built up in its mass/wheels/tires.18LiterDETROITDIESEL

First of all, it sure is a slap in the face to see the price drop $17 just two weeks after I got it. Now then, my experience has been much the same as other reviews. It is a barely "OK" bike, I guess for the money nowadays. It is built and billed as a "Mountain Bike" which is the furthest thing I intend to use it for. From what I gather, you would have to add another zero to the price to get a genuine, usable mountain bike. I am 68 years old wanting to get some exercise. And when I saw this Fat Tire bike, I had to have it. It is the closest I have seen to the old (even then) bike I had as a kid in the fifties and sixties. I will probably end up spending as much extra to make the bike marginally usable, as the bike cost to start with. It is in the shop right now and I'm not doing that much yet. The seat if terrible. The brakes, we'll have to see after they are adjusted right. I have a new seat ready to put on when I get it back. I had the shop put on a steering riser (probably not right term) to raise the handlebars. Keeping original bar for now but may have to replace that too. And replacing the brake levers. If the brakes don't improve (a lot!!) I'll either replace them, or sell the whole bike and get something else. I even got new pedals. The reflectors on the original pedals break off easily. The shifter is a PITA because it wants to change as you are gripping the bar. It should have been a lever or something. And high gear is not even as high as my old single speed. What good is THAT? I guess what it boils down to is that it is impossible to buy a Fat Tire Mountain Bike for $200 that is not a joke even for just plain riding down the street, let alone riding in the mountains.Tinman98

As a direct result of the enormous price difference I decided to purchase the Dolomite just to try out a fat bicycle with the full entention of purchasing a far more expensive model if I enjoyed the larger design. I was surprisingly blown away! The Dolomite had arrived at my front door in only two days. I discovered assembly to be rather simple, but as a safety measure I walked the Dolomite ten blocks to my neighbourhood bicycle repair store for an overall examination; at the bicycle shop both disc brakes were properly calibrated, grease was added to the handle bar support collar, a water bottle cage was placed onto the frame, tires were inflated to proper pressure and then were placed in their recommended rotational direction. Finally, the seat pole was adjusted to a safe and comfortable height. I paid my service charge, quickly place my helmet on and then brought my bicycle onto the New York City streets. The ride was so comfortable due to the large amount of inflated rubber between the road bed and the large 4 inch rims. In addition, at slow speeds and at accelerated speeds the tires are constantly providing exceptional traction; I remained in full control of the bicycle as I effortlessly floated above the New York City man hole covers, large steel plate covers, pot holes and the ubiquitous sewer drainage grids. The weight of the bicycle is an attribute when descending steep hills, but when ascending hills be prepared to pump vigorously. The gears do shift rather accurately to their corresponding numbers, but not the smoothest shift. Due to its price, aesthetics, quality of design and durability I strongly recommend the Mongoose Dolomite Men's 7 Speed Bicycle.JNemorin

Excellent bike. Very smooth riding with a comfortable riding position. Quality parts from Shimano make for fast shifts with good gear range. I ride primary for aerobic exercise and find the bike gives me a great workout while providing a smooth, solid ride. I assembled it myself but needed to have a bike shop to fine tune the front disc brake and true the front wheel in order for the front wheel to spin freely. (Although the bike comes with all the necessary assembly tools (hex wrenches and pedal wrench), the included assembly instructions are not very good w respect to the front wheel / disc brake assembly). But as it turns out Vilano explains that you need to have a bike shop check the assembly in order for the warranty to be valid … not something I knew going in, but the bike shop’s assembly review and front wheel / disc brake tuning ($80) gives me added peace of mind. I should add that Vilano customer service is outstanding. Their toll free phone automated attendant menu could do for a few more option selections to make things more intuitive, but once you get through to the staff they is great. They give you the sense that they are genuinely interested in helping you solve whatever problem you’ have. They listen well, seem to be very knowledgeable about the product and follow up as promised. Overall I’m very pleased with the bike … smooth and solid with good quality parts. We ordered this bike for our teenage son. We added the Pro Build, since we don’t have any close bike shops and we knew he would ride it right away. The bike came on time and packaged neatly. Our son put it together in about 15 minutes and took it out for a ride. So nice that it worked perfectly! Totally worth the slight up charge. I researched bikes in order to find a hybrid bike that delivered more road performance than trail, at a reasonable cost. This one fit the bill and I believe is a clear winner in the price range $300. It does take a while to set up, and you should understand bikes or bring it to a shop to handle that for you. I understand bikes and I still became tripped up on the front derailleur, and it took me a couple days of working on it and reviewing video to first see where I messed up in attempting to fine tune it and then figuring out where to set it back to where it originally was set and then fine tuning it from that point again once I realized that's all it needed. The back derailleur and the disc brakes also needed adjustment and I did fine on them though but again, you need to understand bikes and also to comprehend videos on the subject matter. Took the bike for my first ride recently, so this is a maiden voyage review of approximately 7 to 8 miles on steep hills. It performs admirably on hills, where the 24 gears are a must! The bike is a performer for the price! Tires felt strong, frame is solid, disc brakes are great. The seat may need to be changed out for comfort, however, they are cheap enough and for the price of the bike, should not be considered a deterrent. It is better to NOT have a front shock for more road use, as that absorbs energy going up steep hills and that's what I needed this for. Had the bike pushing 40 m.p.h. or over and was very stable. Be sure to check the wheel hub and brakes prior to doing that though. Five stars for the quality on price point and the outlet shipped it fast and delivery time is reasonable. Remember, assembly IS required. The bike is solid but will need some adjustment once assembled though, so your call on how you do it, yourself or professionally, as it can be quite frustrating. If you were worried about quality, don't, it will get the job done for leisure to intermediate riding endeavors I believe based on my first take. The more I ride this bicycle, the more I like it; however, it has had its share of problems. I ordered the bicycle online and picked it up at my local store. Being mechanically inclined, I requested that the store not assemble the bicycle and I assembled the bike, myself. The headset came installed from the factory so tightly in the head tube that I could barely turn the fork by hand. I decided to disassemble it and noticed that the bearings did not appear to have any grease. The front fender also had a small dent in it, even though there was no damage to the box. The dent does not touch the tire and does not effect its functionality, so I decided not to return the bike or complain about it. On my first ride, I noticed that the coaster brake was sticking. When coming to a complete stop, it would not release until pedaling forward again. If I would get off of the bicycle after a complete stop, and push it forward, the rear wheel would drag. I decided to repack all of the bearings with marine grease, as well as disassemble and re-grease the coaster brake. (If you are not familiar with how coaster brakes work, I would not recommend disassembling one.) I have had no problems with the bicycle since then and have put about fifty miles on this bike, so far. I am surprised by how tall the bicycle stands. With the seat adjusted to the lowest level, it is almost too tall for me. The seat is about 33" high at its lowest. The handlebars are also wide, with an overall width of 30". I had to make the hex cap bolts extra tight because the handlebars had a tendency to twist downward when standing to pedal up hill. The bicycle is also very long. From the tip of the front wheel to the end of the rear wheel, it is more than 6' (about 75"). These are things to consider if you anticipate transporting the bicycle inside a vehicle like a station wagon. I transport mine on a bicycle rack or on my trailer. The tube of the handlebars is about an inch in diameter, which is larger than most. Trying to find a bell with a clamp that opens to that large of a diameter has been difficult. The "warts" that I encountered on this bicycle were minor for me, considering how cheap the bicycle is, but these could be major complaints for someone who is not familiar with working on bicycles. Since I assembled the bicycle myself, I cannot say whether these are things that in-store assemblers would address. I like the feel of the bicycle when I ride it and it is a comfortable ride.BargainHunter

Returned after one day. Not Walmart or Manufacturer fault. See complete review for more detail, in the end the bike was simply too tall for my 5'8" frame. Unable to straddle the bike flat footed without the frame, umm, 'digging in'. Felt like I was a little boy riding my dad's big bike. The bike description on Walmart.com does state that the bike is designed for riders 6' and taller…they mean it! Nice bike shipped and delivered promptly by Walmart and FedEx. Tracking system (Walmart) could be updated, not updated or synced with FedEx or whatever very well. Nevertheless the bike showed up on time/date as promised. Cons: * Bike seemed to be packaged alright but the paint job showed many rub marks and a few scratches. I can live with this, it was a long boat ride from China! * Front tire had 'blown' during manufacture or shipping and was partially off the rim with a blown tube on delivery. In hopes of the bike working out I just replaced the tube with a new one from Walmart. The rear tire had 35 psi in it when delivered. * Front reflector bracket was broken on delivery. No biggie. * Fenders required mounting and were askew. It was simple to correctly align/adjust the fenders although it left bare metal exposed at the adjustment points (screw/brackets). Again, not that big a deal. Pros: * Nice bike, seemed of nice quality construction (welds, components). * Love the 29" wheels and overall posture of this bike. *Easy assembly. Local Walmart store accepted my return without question. I would have definitely kept this bike if it weren't for the size. Despite the adjustments and having to replace the front inner tube on arrival it was a good product. I'll actually be shopping for a 26" bike now and maybe a 3-speed to help with some mild elevation changes here locally.Chucky

After many years of not owning a Bike I decided on this model after reading mostly positive reviews and for the price. Also the 7 Speed gearing was attractive to me instead of the 21 Speed ones they had in the store. Ordered it online to pick up at my local store and I decided to assemble it myself, I'm not super handy but is simple enough to do, the most complex part is the front brake adjustment which I couldn't do because the front wheel was wobbly, so I took it to my local bike shop where they gave it a simple tune up for $25, which included rectifying the wobbly front wheel, adjusting the brakes and the rear derailleur among checking all other components. This is the main reason of my 4 Star rating. I like the style of this bike and after testing it on a short ride I use it on 3rd gear on the mostly flat and paved surfaces in my neighborhood and the seat feels comfortable enough. The frame says Kent Hybrid, so this bike is part road bike/part mountain bike, which means is not as fast as a true road/commuter bike but most of us won't join the Tour de France, so it's more than adequate at this price point. Also the frame says 6061 Alloy which to me means is an Aluminium frame and the package was labeled as 35.2 pounds, so that is the weight of this bike. I intend to use it for the occasional ride around my house and for exercising; and I think this bike will be just fine for that.Aviator

The description of this bike on the website states that it has a steel frame however the frame is clearly marked as a 60/61 alloy which I understand is unusual for cheaper bikes. That combined with the dual suspension and the one bye seven drivetrain seemed to make this a competitive value in a big box bike. Oddly enough, at this time the black version of this bike is $60 dollars less that the blue. That makes it even better. This is definitely a comfort bike and is advertised as such. If you need something for rugged terrain then you'll need to search further.David

I was scouring Craigslist for a deal on a Schwinn Cruiser, but ended up purchasing an Urban Man cruiser via the Firmstrong website when I realized I could get something new, lighter and customized to my needs for a few dollars more. Went with the single speed in chrome with decals removed. The purchase process was easy and price was right. I love the way it looks and rides, and it's extremely comfortable. Solid bike! Well packaged, few minor scratches on painted surfaces. Bike seems to be well made with good components (bearings, hub and crank. Bike looks great and is light for a beach cruiser. I should have bought this bike 5 years ago instead of the 2 others that I bought and ended up replacing due to poor components. I usually average about 30 miles a week as a cool down from work-outs. I bought this bike clearly for looks. When it arrived it had the wrong size fender (made for a smaller wheel) so now I am riding around with only one fender, which looks ridiculous. I've called Hayneedle and am waiting for a response. Additionally the seat is surprisingly really uncomfortable. I couldn't ride for more than 20 minutes due to needing a break from the seat. I probably would not have purchased this bike if I had known prior to buying it.John

Without a doubt this is the worst most poorly built bicycle I have ever owned. In short, it is just a piece of junk. The bike arrived with one handlebar protruding from the box and there were scratches on the paint in many places. I would have returned it, but I found it easier and less expensive to sell it, and I'm glad I did. I replaced it with a mountain bike made by Schwinn, which is a lovely, well-made and easy to ride machine. I will never buy another Huffy product.Good riddance

My second purchase of a Sole bike so here goes. Love this bike as far as the comfort of the ride and the simplicity of the design and build. What makes the star rating not 5 is the following: Came without a bolt to secure the seat post with the clamp to one of the bikes and the second one had a bolt but the head was malformed making it not usable. So out of the box I was off to two separate bike shops to obtain parts ( 0.20 cents total) to be able to ride either of the bikes. Second the front wheel of one of the bikes is a little out of true which will be remedied on its annual tune up but not perfect. Quality seems a little less than the first Sole purchase overall. From a top down perspective I would purchase another bike from Sole. My recommendation would be to tighten up the quality going out to the customers. Just my 2 cents… Happy pedalingSamuel G.

My OLD hardtail finally kicked the bucket and I'm broke, so I picked this up just to get back on trails. I was planning on getting something more robust in the future, but I'm really digging this Trail 5. I've never ridden on 29" wheels and was a bit leary, but they actually are very nimble. They clear everything, too. A lot less skittish than 26" and TONS of traction. The AdventX 10 speed drive train is actually really nice. I'm riding singletrack in Colorado and frequently use all the gears s the range is perfect. They're quiet and quick. The clutch keeps the derailleur & chain from bangin' around. No complaints. I haven't hit a point yet where the lowest granny gear wasn't enough to get me up the trail but I haven't tackled anything hard core. I don't think this bike was built for that. Not with the Suntour XCM at least. My main beef is this shock fork. It's a pogo stick! If you're thinking of doing some singletrack, get ready for an interesting ride. The XCM can't keep up. I'm already shopping for an upgraded fork. It's fine for a smooth gravel trail or dirt road though. Overall very confidence inspiring. It's a very fun ride for the casual biker. And I LOVE the color! I bought this bike 3 months ago and it’s a awesome bike for the price! I ride this bike hard and it holds up good. Upgraded to tubeless tires and rims and some Chester pedals with ergon grips and this bike is amazing. The fork is great you just have to tune it a bit to get the most of it. But when you do, your going to feel like 100mm of travel is perfect. I find myself ride this bike more then my 130mm travel bike. Also the 2x drivetrain is great. At first glance I thought that I was going to have a hard time with it but I was wrong. I had no chain drop and the gear ratio is great for the climbing I do. And yes 1x Drivetrain would be better but you really don’t need it you can use a old inertube as a chain stay protector. This bike is perfect. Yes you are limited to fork options. But there is still a lot of good forks in the market like a suntor 120mm air fork. But if your in a budget like I am. The 100mm fork is perfect. Also I just love hardtails.Brayan

Took the bicycle right back for tuning and REI said something bent during shipping and fixed it so the gears shift flawlessly through all 10 gears. Gear range is huge from normal top and to extremely low, the spacing is perfect. Replaced the pedals with Shimano metal flat pedals. Replaced the seat with WTB SL8. Ride this bike every clear day at lunch for at least 5 miles. Riding is fast and a total pleasure, what a wonderful machine.Gary

I live in a very humid, tropical environment where sulfur emissions from a prior lava eruption continue to pollute the air and cause everything metal to rust. After our 1960's Schwinn cruiser bicycles became rusted beyond repair, I searched online for new bikes. The sixthreezero bicycles looked really cool and the prices were fantastic. I did not expect the quality to be anywhere near as good as it is! It is extremely comfortable and a breeze to pedal also! The paint color is very retro and cool; people compliment the bike whenever I ride Amazingly, TWO years after I have purchased it, my bike has NO rust anywhere! This is practically unheard of in our location! We live 5 blocks from 3-month long active lava eruption that continues to emit sulfur into the air three years later! If I had to say something negative about the bike, I can't think of anything I would change about it! Their customer service team is top notch! Anytime I email them, they respond almost immediately! I bought this bike to try to get in better shape. The reason I wanted an electric bike was because I wanted to push myself and then use the electric only to ride back if I pushed myself too far. Plus I needed a way to get back home to accommodate multiple musculoskeletal issues that I was afraid would leave me stranded and struggling to return on a manual bike. I haven't rid a bike in years so I was hesitant to spend this amount on a bike I hadn't test driven and I lacked confidence in my physical ability as I have multiple disabilities. First off this bike has changed my life. I started off riding a couple miles and being tired. After a few weeks I was up to 5 miles multiple times a week. I'm so excited to have a means of exercise that gets my heart rate up, doesn't exacerbate my disabilities, and is enjoyable. I have had my bike for 2 months now and last month I rode 70 miles and met the weekly recommend moderate activity for multiple weeks in a row. I have done 7, 8, 9 mile rides so far. I originally thought I wouldn't get my heart beat up much with an electric bike but to the contrary. My fitbit shows my rides and where my heart increases to fat burning and cardio. Now I have plans by the end of March to ride 6 miles to work and 6 miles back 2-3 times a week. I couldn't have even imagined this goal as a possibility 2 months ago and now this is realistic. This bike is comfortable and is a joy to ride. The seat is cushy and comfortable. The hand grips are comfortable. I have issues with my hands and was worried about pain but this hasn't been a problem and I'm quite comfortable with the grips and angle of the handlebars. This bike is sturdy and comfortable. The battery lasts a long time. I could probably ride 4 or 5 days 5-6 miles a day until I need to recharge. I usually recharge every 2-3 rides but that is because I'm the type of person who fills my gas tank up when it is 3/4th full. I see the battery go down two bars and I'm on it with a recharge. The cons: I had a squeaking sound and couldn't figure out what was causing it, but I didn't look. I assigned figuring it out to my boyfriend and he said he was going to try some WD40. I'm not sure if he used it or did something but the squeaking sound went away. My breaks squeal a little. I haven't walked through the steps they provided to do a break tune-up so it is probably user error. I think I'm going to assign this to my boyfriend too. The battery came loose a couple times cutting the power. I just noticed it was tougher to pedal and stopped the bike to push it back in. The final con was I really wanted the cream bike but after waiting for three months global supply issues meant I would likely have to wait another three months. So they gave me an option to wait or switch to a bike in stock which is how I ended up with the Navy bike. It is very nice looking and I'm pleased even though it wasn't my first pick. I highly recommend this bike. It was easy to assemble. I think it took me an hour because I carefully read and reread instructions to make sure I did it correctly. I love this bike. It is super comfy and gave me an outlet to be physical activity. I was really struggling with the prospect of never being able to do anything physical until I got this bike. So I'm serious when I say this bike changed my life by giving me back my life. Now I have cute little accessories on it. Love it and look forward to many rides to come.Jeni

After purchasing an electric bike from Six Three Zero for myself, and being pleased with what I got, I ordered a second one for my wife, a 250 w Around the Block. I am just as pleased with this one as I was the first. The assembly instructions were straight-forward, all the parts were there, and it went together easily with a minimum of adjustments. I experienced one problem, with the lock for the battery, but that was instantly dealt with and a new replacement arrived in a matter of days. My wife had not ridden a bike in a long time, but she is now enjoying joining me on our tours of the country roads that we are lucky enough to be near. This was the best bicycle! If you're average height the only thing is you have to throw your leg over to get on the bicycle. It's comfortable seating, very accommodating, is fast speed but not too bad. You can definitely get a good exercise out of this bike! It's very high in quality. It almost makes you forget you're exercising it's definitely worth a purchase.C

This bike felt sturdy and it was easy to take off. As I accelerated and was able to move faster, I was unable to continue pedaling. I did not attempt to shift gears and maybe this would have helped. Yet it handled corners well. I am sure it will ride well on terrain surfaces.Diesel82

Ok, let me start off by saying that I've been on lots of bikes. But NONE compare to this baby. Outside of the bike being my favorite color this is the best ride I've ever experience. I love, love, love it. It's lightweight and stylish but very sturdy. The ride is so smooth. The seat is comfortable and so are the handlebars. It brakes with ease and you do not have to worry about feeling all the bumps like you experience with other bikes. I can't say enough about it. I bought this bike for road treks and I have been happy. There are two sets of hand brakes, so you can comfortably ride low or high and be able to break. It shifts easily and is great going up hill. It is a sturdy bike and lightweight.Bkdavis89

This is a pretty good bike for the most part. It is really for a casual bike rider not so much a long distance rider. It's a bit heavy for long distance but seems to be pretty good quality with the exception of the tires. I think we'll probably replace them with some good quality ones since my husband does ride quite a bit. He generally rides somewhat long distances (more than 10-15 miles) but because he's risen professionally, he can handle the weight at least semi regularly. Thank you Influenster!heather.h
