I recently bought this bike and it runs perfectly. I've rode it non-stop for the past couple of days around my area and the bike honestly feels great for me. The bars are quite large but that will take a few days to get used to, (supposing you are coming from < 740mm). The pedaling required to get moving is not bad at all, the gearing is tuned just right to where it feels not too easy & not too hard to pedal. Assembling this bike was very easy as you only really have to apply simple parts such as: Seat, Handlebars, Pedals, etc. The tools needed for the main bolts come with the bike too, which is quite handy! The only downside I can say about the actual box contents of the bike is that the back wheel was slightly out of place when I went to ride it. I assume this is down to postal services causing damage to the box during transport but it's nothing to worry about. The back brake was catching on the rotor but all it took was to loosen the wheel and realign the rotor in-between the pads for the caliper. During my first few hours of riding this bike there was quite a few creeks coming from the bike but that was because it was adjusting to me actually riding the bike for the first time. They eventually died down and they rarely occur at all now. (Rode the bike for approx. 3 days~)Summary during my experience of riding: The tires are perfect too as they allow for sharper turns since the width is 2.5". The seat is not too hard but doesn't cause any issues. Handlebar grips are very good, even in wet conditions. The brake lever is aligned to my preference out of the box, although I had to change the position of where it was located to make it easier to reach. Rims and frame feel quite durable. The long seat post allows you to choose many heights that you comfortable fine with. One last thing to note. The bike looks visually good in person and my friends have commented on it looking great as well. I plan on changing a few parts on the bike towards the future so that I can customize it slightly. I won't be doing this for a while though as I honestly think it is great how it is at the moment.liarmi_64

I bought two of these:The 16 inch pink bike for my daughter who will be turning 5 next week. I did not take her measurements, but she is a size 5/6 in tops and pants right now for size comparison. The bike is great with the training wheels, but it is too big for her to handle without them yet. If I had known what I know now, I would have bought her one size down to start off with. This bike just fits with room to grow. Last fall, it would have been a bit too big for him.Sizing aside, here are my thoughts:This is a great bike! It is nice and sturdy and I love the look. especially the fact that the pink is still girly looking but has BLACK tires, not the dang white tires that most little girls bikes have We live on a farm, so no sidewalks. Just dirt, gravel and grass to ride on. These bikes ride just fine on the rough terrain.My kids love that the bikes came with a water bottle.The 1634 bike has a firmer white seat with what sort of looks like a hand grip in the back. I got this bike for my 3 years old and he loves it. This bike is solid and high quality. I am so happy with it. Everything is adjustable and locks back secure. My only complaint is the pedals. The pedals on this particular bike fold in and they were incredibly difficult to put on. There were no instructions. The YouTube videos for this bike do not apply to the fold in pedals. I had to recruit the help of my engineer grandpa. Aside from the pedals, everything else was simple and I would highly recommend this quality bike.Tiffany
Our son is learning to ride a bike and we wanted a bike that he could transition into from training wheels and without the training wheels. It came fine, good packaging, very easy to assemble, but the handle is almost always loose. I remember growing up with almost every bike being loose on the handles so Im sure its not just this bike that has this issue. However, its annoying that 30 plus years later we are still dealing with this. Is there no bike out there with a tight handle bar? This can be a safety issue when youre biking and you want to make a sudden turn and the handle turns but the bike doesnt and you just plow into a giant bush. been there done that not on this bike but in general and could potentially happen on this bike and others.Jin

Unlike the previous review (and only review on this bike) we LOVE this bike!!! It's beautiful, classy and easy to ride. My 6 year old daughter learned how to independently ride her previous bike, 16" wheel, before we bought this one. I don't think it's very wise to teach your kid how to ride a BRAND NEW 20" bike because it should be obvious that it may get torn up after crashing it as much as beginners generally do! Schwinn has been great quality for a very long time. I'd hate for one "bad" review to potentially make customers skeptical of buying this bike. And by "bad review", I mean this: it's hard for me, or should be for anyone else, to take a review serious when the reviewer has so many grammatical, spelling and punctuation errors!!! we got this bike for my daughter for her 4th birthday. we loved the banana seat and how it wasnt character printed so she could grow with it. we believed it was probably the best. choice being it is a Schwinn. well on her birthday she was so excited to get it, but the pedals didnt work. something seemed to be wrong with the gears and therefore the pedals and back wheel wouldnt work. we ezchanged it for the same model and tested it in store. it was fine for a few days then the same issue happened. returned again and will be getting a different bike all together, very disappointing and not the quality you would expect from Schwinn.Katelyn
Such a pain in the butt to put together. The directions are pointless. The training wheel was pre-assembled waaaaay too tight. My daughter has trouble actually riding it. This product is totally as advertised. Easy to assemble, accelerates quickly to the advertised 18mph. Stable except cannot really handle large bumps at any speed. It's extremely important to be aware of safety as a priority when riding. Operation requires constant diligence when driving and can be dangerous if/when you wipe out. In the short time we've had it, we had one wipe out due to minor distraction – luckily at a slower speed causing only a twisted ankle and some bruising. Love the bike design and all of the components. You can__ find a kid__ hardtail with disc breaks for that kind of pricing. For sizing, we followed guidelines and went with the 18_. We went to the lower sized bike and still needing to work getting use to is. The seat is really cushioned so that makes it wider and the seat tube only goes down so far from the cross tube. Worked well for awhile but less than a year after purchase the rear wheel prongs that attach the axel to the bike frame twisted. the cap nut and washer that holds the axel in place have disappeared in our yard and idk if we'll find replacement parts. Ordered through a 3rd party since Mobo had wait list for back orders. Paid $40 more oh well. Item arrived on time and in good condition. I'm glad I had read other reviews and watched assembly video tutorial. Had I relied solely on assembly booklet with tiny pictures I could have had issues. I used a liquid lock on bolts since I read complaints on screws loosening. I was okay with slight toe-in of rear wheels since video said that was the design. Assembly probably took an hour or so. I've used the trike solely inside my development where the ground is very level and there is only light car traffic. With only one gear, even a slight upgrade requires extra effort. Building up riding distance and time spent riding slowly, making incremental advances. Steering is easy. I've ordered an additional gel seat cushion as I find the Mobo seat hard and unyielding after a 1/2 hour on the trike. I have had spinal fusion, L3 to L5, as well as a total right hip replacement, so the Mobo recumbent is a safe exercise option after a TAVR and cardiac stent implants. Hope to use this for several years as I turn 70 in a few months.Bob the Biker
I purchased my Triton 7 years ago and have loved it ever since I got to assemble it! In the first year, I noticed some things that needed attention. I built an adjustable steering linkage so that I could align the rear wheels better to make the tires last longer. I built a basket to fit a lunch bag cooler to carry ice and water for those long trips. I custom built a seat so that my rear could handle those long trips! I added my MP3 player and a speaker. I installed some outdoor LED lights for a street glow effect, and mounted a flashlight on the front fender because I am a Knight Rider š The bearings have held up well. All the nuts and bolts have kept in place without the use of Loctite. Once I put in puncture-resistant innertubes and puncture-shields, I have not had a flat tire since! I typically ride between 3 and 4 hours at a time. It is a great eye-catcher and very mellow for riding. I have put on over 10,000 miles so far!!! I bought this bike along with the pedal conversion kit for my son so he could learn how to ride a pedal bike. My 4 year old son was graduating from the Strider sport 12 balance bike where he learned how to push himself and balance on the bike while moving. I put my son on this bike and within 10 minutes he was riding by himself! I barely had to hold him and he essentially taught himself to ride after knowing the basics from his old balance bike. This bike is great because it has long, low geometry so kids can be on the seat with their feet still touching the ground. This means they can push off themselves, get momentum, start pedaling, ride, and even stop without having an adult hold or push them! The pedals are also smartly designed to be narrow so kids can push off like on a balance bike and get momentum before they put their feet on the pedals. Most other small bikes designed for kids learning how to ride have training wheels and very bad geometry that puts the kid high on the seat so they can't touch the ground, increasing the likelihood that the kid will fall and get scared. This is where the Strider 14x really shines – it literally puts the child in the best possible position for success so they can learn to ride a pedal bike themselves! Shipped promptly. Packaging is simple and secure. You can tell once you open that the materials are well made. The bike comes 80% assembled. I purchased the pedal add-on and it took me 15 minutes to put it on. My son who just turned 4 and tippy toes on a 16" tire bicycle took to this right away since he is proficient on a 12" tire balance bike. In less than 72 hours, he was pedaling on his own. I was shocked and so proud. I cant speak more highly of this product. Bike came as described and is working great! We finished putting it together in about 10 minutes and took another 2 minutes to size it up and adjust it. At first my 3 yo was very hesitant to use it but we took it on a camping trip where it was his only form of transportation. He previously loved playing on a smaller scooter which he had very much outgrown, and used it as an excuse not to use the balance bike. After a couple laps around the tent, he was ready to go around the camp ground, and by the end of the weekend we had to pry him off of it to get it in the car. We haven't had a chance to use the pedals, but are glad we have them when he's ready! Two things to be aware of: 1) Minimum age is 3 years, and that's pretty correct. Even six months ago, I think this would have been too big. 2) Double check on Strider's website to see which shade of green this is. I incorrectly assumed the green for the 12x, which was more of a traditional green, would be the same for the 14x. In reality, the green is more like a construction vest, almost yellow. The second the box was open my daughter took off w the mini bike, or I'd have probably sent it back. Also the instructions show a kickstand, didn't come w one. Purchased for my 5 yr old who is about 49 lbs. she previously had a 12 inch but she outgrew that in a year. Wanted something she could grow with and this bike was perfect for her. The seat adjust and I love that the petals still break although there is a break on the handle bar. Sheās not ready for the handle bar breaking jus yet. My only flaw I this bike is that one of the training wheels wonāt stay in place. After riding for about 30 minutes it start to inch upward, causing the bike to become a bit unsteady. Sheās definitely not ready for a 2 wheeler so these wheels are crucial for her to learn. Iāve tried tightening them a million times and it still keeps slipping. I guess eventually theyāll come off but itās still annoying none the less. Cute design, great fit, she loves it, so Iām happy. Plus it was the last bike online I could find during Covid (BONUS)momAKAMommy
