This is my first time using this brand of lightener. I loved it! My hair feels nice and doesn't feel super damaged at all. My hair is about a level 4/5 and it lifted it to about a 9 which to me was perfect for putting on pink over it. I will stick to using this for a long time. I have hair that is pretty thick and goes down past my chest and I used 3 1/2 boxes for my whole head.. Thanks Haley Williams for the awesome product 😀
I recently ordered 2 boxes of the GDY Lightening Kit from my local Sally store. When I opened the boxes to use them, I noticed that the kit was an older version of the product. The product & its formula have been updated since this kit (like it's been YEARS) and I feel like I was cheated by paying full price for these old old products. I have used this kit before many times and the older product does not lighten as well as the current formulas that they use. I'm a big fan of GDY's products and know that I'm not the only person that's received old products from Sally before. Makes me wonder how many other products Sally is keeping on the shelves and selling.

I HAD dark blonde hair. Spent a week looking at products and I wanted to be Blonde not bleach blonde just light blonde. I picked this kit because it does contain BLEACH. BLEACH is the only way to lift hair color. I left on for an hour and I look like an orange pop. The max time is an hour. I called the 18006317358 number that is on the box and they are closed today because of the holiday. So, for now I am stuck with orange hair or go to a salon and spend money, lots of it for a hair color correction. A company like this should have someone on call 24/7 if your going to have a help line and sell boxed color at stores that are open 24 hours. People do need help after hours and on holidays. I went to sally's and they said bleach it again. I am scared to bleach again so soon. So today I will wear a hat and conditioner and wait for them to open tomorrow , to maybe give me some advice on what to do with this orange hair. First, I was very SKETPICAL to use this product, because I have only ever used Ion hair color from Sally’s in Lightest Cool Blonde. I decided to give this a shot, because of the high level of ratings on this product online. I also googled and checked Amazon reviews and checked reviews on the manufacturer’s website. All had like 80% of reviewers critiquing it as high. So, I gave it a shot…. I was not disappointed at all! I am naturally dirty blond/dishwater blond and my hair lifts to platinum blond easily. This color did exactly that. It lifted evenly and gave me very, very platinum blond hair like the white, ethereal color that I was wanting. The instructions were very easy to follow. The box recommends anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes. I left mine on for 20 minutes and then checked it. It had completely lifted to platinum. My hair was yellow… THIS IS NORMAL though, because some people’s hair lifts to either yellow or orange when going so light. Go to Sally’s and get the WELLA TONER in T-14 “Palest Ash Blond” (another name is “White Lady”). I left this on for 5 minutes! BE CAREFUL not to live it on too long when it starts turning, RINSE IT OUT! This lifts that yellow or orange out of your hair and will literally make your hair look amazing!!!! I have naturally dark brown hair which I had dyed to a dark auburn color months ago. My roots were already showing and the color I had it dyed to was fading. I wanted to bleach my hair blond and used this product. The first time my hair was orange and my roots turned out yellow. According to the research I did I had to bleach my hair again to get it to the yellow that I wanted. Well my mistake was that I used this product again. I thought it should work on the second attempt. And no, all it did was make my hair turn into an even brighter orange! I left it in my hair on both attempts for 45 minutes. Plus it had left my hair dried out. Needless to say I'll never use this again and recommend that you do not use this product. It will not make you blond. Instead it will turn you into a carrot top as you can see in the picture. This was taken after the second time I used it to bleach my hair. That was almost $20 down the drain. So I bought this to bleach a wig that I bought. I previously bleached the wig the same day but it still wasn’t bright enough. I used three boxes and the hair was long and I didn’t leave it on for the recommended time on the instructions. This did exactly what I needed it to do. Works well (works waaaaaaay better for virgin hair of course) even though my hair has been blonde to black to blonde a few times. This kit still lifts the color!!! like??? okay purr. Did a great job at bleaching the hair. Color came out even, however hair was EXTREMELY dry after rinsing…… BUT that said, the toner included infused so much moisture back into my strands I was thoroughly impressed. It did relax my curl pattern slightly, however all my natural curls are still intact. I did half my hair using the bottle in the kit, which was fine, but the other half I put in a bowl and applied with a applicator brush (just because it seemed quicker and would give a more even bleach job). I've been dying my hair for several years now (since I was 14) and this is the only product that lightens my dark brunette hair (somewhere between levels 2 and 3) to that perfect platinum. I usually dye my hair pastel colors. I feel like the people who are leaving bad reviews don't know what they're doing. If you get clumps just crush it up. Like, it's not that difficult. I have curly hair (a mixture of 2c and 3a) and it doesn't ruin my curl pattern. Curly hair tends to be dryer and more fragile than straight hair. Yes, your hair is going to fall out if you're putting 40 volume bleach on damaged hair (heat damage counts; if you blow-dry and flat iron your hair constantly you shouldn't bleach your hair at home; go to a professional; I have the same advice for people with chemical treatments and perms). Common sense people. 40 volume bleach is the strongest you can use and it shouldn't be left on for more than 30 minutes. You should never bleach your hair multiple times in a short span of time (Bleaching your hair again after you just bleached it isn't a good idea especially when it's 40 volume). Wait a couple of days between each session. And if you are bleaching your hair for the first time and don't know what you're doing educate yourself. Brad Mondo and Evangeline Demuro make great educational videos on how to do your hair. I suggest using a hair mask every night for a week before bleaching it so that your hair has enough moisture and is also strong enough to handle this. Also, for the love of GOD do not wash your hair before bleaching it. Your hair needs oil for bleach to do its job. The reason why this doesn't work for certain people is that they don't take into account the things I said. Don't use this on damaged hair, don't wash your hair, don't do this multiple times in one day and don't leave it on for a long time. I have fine shoulder length 3B hair. I started from the back and worked my way to the front but got to the top of my head when I realized one box was not enough. Not a big deal for what I was going for but would have been disappointed otherwise. I put coconut oil on my ears as forehead as well as my neck. It still got burned. It felt like sun burn. A piece of hair touch my check and it burned immediately. It did the job but I'm assuming it's really strong. Unless you have a shaved head, get to boxes even if just touching your roots like I was.Kit
So this does lighten a decent amount for what I needed, but the amount you get is minuscule. I laughed when I unboxed it honestly. I usually use another box kit, so I guess I'm just used to getting more for this price point. I probably wouldn't buy it again, unless I need bleach in a pinch and this was all that was available. This stuff was so gentle that using it to correct poor lift from another brand-the following day!-resulted in no noticeable damage. No gummy hair, no breakage when combing, no unwillingness by the hair to evenly accept direct dye afterward. The formula went on evenly, easily, and lifted away all my pigment to exactly the color of the inside of a banana peel. I didn't suffer the burning others mentioned but I was careful not to apply directly to my scalp. My hair took about 35 minutes to get where it needed to be. Followed with green and blue dyes and they took like a dream! Post-processing, it's soft, shiny, and manageable. I went with Arctic Fox because people highly recommend it. Within 20 minutes of using it and only getting 1/4 of my head done, foamy liquid started dripping down my face. I avoided my roots to go back to them at the end but I had to rinse my hair out unfinished because the foamy liquid dripped down to my roots. Now my scalp is burned and I have hot roots. I don’t know if this is a defective batch or what, but now the top left side of my head is half processed and burned and I’m waiting for my salon appt on Friday to try to fix it before an important night. I’ve bleached my own hair before with cheaper products and this never happened. I still want to try the regular colors one day, but as of right now I’m avoiding the brand.Gina Supers
I wish I would have read the reviews before I used this. I have really reached an amazing blonde and I got this for my roots! I must admit the name was super catchy and I liked it had everything included with the notion that it was healthier for your hair. When I first started I should have known and stopped right away. The bleach was impossible to squeeze out and I never saw that before – there was a lot of mixture and it was runny. I read the instructions 3x before using to make sure this was right and no where did it warn of these things. I feel like if I would have let it set for 10 min and it got thicker and mousse like it work: I left in full 45 min on virgin hair and I knew it was awful before I washed out – super brassy and yellow. My hair doesn’t feel damaged or dried out but for something that advertises lift 8 levels – the full time and no where near lifted. I don't know why I never learn from my past mistakes but this is the third time I've used this bleach and it will definitely be the last time. I spent about two years leaving my hair alone to grow our naturally and didn't bother to color it. This bleach was the only one I could find in the store at the time and this just didn't do anything for me. It smells awful, there isn't enough for a full head, and the anti brass purple conditioner is a genuine joke. I'm going to try something else to bleach my hair this week but I'm hoping this review will save people from making the same mistake I did. Just don't do it. Find something else. The instructions are clear and I am very appreciative on being able to have everything needed for the incredible price. This kit is dummy-proof. I had no experience in dying my hair prior to using this kit and I achieved the look I was going for. My hair is dark brown and there was no previous bleach or dye in it. I used the sectioned ponytail method and I did not tease the hair. I wrapped each ponytail in foil after fully saturating each one. I left the product on for the full 45 minutes and did check for color lift/change at 30 minutes. I used the included comb to apply the product as well as the conditioner. I have medium short hair, but I have an undercut so one bottle was enough for me. If I had a full head of hair and longer, I would probably have needed another bottle.DIYmumprof
What a mess. The black ink smears all over the bottle when you are mixing/processing/applying to you hair. Gloves are a must! It dried out my hair so I’m pretty sad. I had been using another product prior to color my hair but I wanted to try a new one and it dried out my hair & some hair was/is light orange and the rest white blonde. So terrible! I’ve been doing my own hair for 15 yrs so I know what I’m doing. When you shake the product and remove the lid it explodes all over. Went all over my bathroom wall & porcelain sink. Thin product. It was worth a try but I won’t use it again. I bought four boxes. I’d ask for a refund if I could. It is affordable just not for me. I’m going back to L’Oréal Paris 205 lightener. This worked fantastic! Not only that, it smelled nice, and had GREAT directions! That’s super important when it comes to bleaching hair. I was able to lighten my daughters hair at least 7 shades for her to do her purple streak. I left it only a half hour because I didn’t want to break her hair off, so just imagine if I left it 15 more minutes for the total time?! I’m just so totally pleased with this user/beginner friendly bleach. Totally recommend. In fact, I’ve already purchased another box for my kids next round. I usually prefer doing my own hair as I do not like physical contact. I wanted to try bleaching my hair for the first time & got this because I thought, "Oh yeah, of course I want the maximum amount of lightening, so I can put bright colors over it." But when I told my hairdresser friend about it, she looked scared and said my hair would probably break off! I ended up getting the Lime Crime 20 volume kit but keeping this because it said it came with a brush, gloves, and a mixing bowl. The Lime Crime kit only had gloves, the bowl and brush/comb combo were extra. Well, I didn't open this box until the day of the bleaching, and it only had a brush, no gloves or bowl! I ended up mixing in a plastic Tupperware container with a plastic to-go spoon. I don't think they were accidentally forgotten either because there wasn't even room in the box for anything else. DO NOT BUY THIS! Go with the Lime Crime 20 volume. It still lightened my dark hair enough for bright colors but with no damage, and if you buy this "kit" you will still need to buy extra supplies anyway.Feeling conned

I love this powder bleach for lightening and bleaching hair at home. I do my own hair, as well as my daughter and friends and other family members and I have done so for many years…so I have tried many different brands and types of bleach and this has always given me the best results. It is simple enough for anyone to follow the directions and do on themselves or someone else. I do recommend though if you are doing your hair at home to ALWAYS first do a small test strip of hair just to make sure your hair can handle it before you put through your entire hair. Then I would do a lot of research of the products you are using and reading all directions carefully and fully a few times before getting started and also it never hurts to watch a few YouTube videos. Research the brands you are using as well and see what others have said about them, it will really make a difference when finding the best items for you to use on your hair at home. This was one of the first brands of lighteners, that I can remember, who added the blue tint to the formula- which is intended to fight against that yellow/gold look when you get hi-lites or bleach your hair. I haven’t used it in years bc they have came out with some amazing quality lighteners… but it’s not terrible. If you’re shopping at Sally’s, I’d say this is a good choice. They do not lie, this is fast acting (so work smart, but quickly), this will lift up to 7 shades. Quick Blue does have a nice, creamy consistency you can use this for both on scalp and off. I personally don’t recommend using this product as a DIY if you are not 100% comfortable… but if you like to live life on the edge, use the L’Oréal developer maybe not go higher than 20 volume:)lacey.k

I was a little bit skeptical trying a 40-volume bleach kit on my root regrowth, since you're not really supposed to put anything above 20-volume on the scalp. Normally, I come from a very dark natural hair color, therefore I use 30-volume on my roots. This Intrabond Serum Additive is literally a miracle worker!! They also sell it separately here and in-store (it also works for all bleach kits). Overall, it did it's job, produce very little breakage, and even conditioned the hair a little 🙂 I would, however, get 2 boxes of the product because you really dont get a lot of the actual bleach.Sandro C.
I usually use colorzap when wanting to bleach color but this is now my favorite. I had a five month dye, on top of years of other dyes, and this stripped it down to a cool, soft white to sun-kissed blonde with little to no brass whatsoever. My dye color was a cinnamon brown; my hair is healthy so no breakage, and the bleach kit left my hair soft and smooth.I think it was the small serum you add to the developer/powder mix. Unless you are wanting to go platinum, you may not need a toner. I did a test strip and then reapplied when I was ready for all over and my test strip came to a lovely white. My hair is shoulder length and would recommend geting two or more boxes for complete, even coverage, for the same length or longer.
I had high hopes for this product. I have shoulder length hair that is mostly a light blonde with some light pink and a few streaks of light maroon mixed in. I used TWO boxes. Had help putting it into my hair. Let it process for over 30 minutes, NOT including application time. Instructions say processing time for light to medium blonde should be roughly 10-15 minutes. I've dyed my hair myself my entire life; I have never once gone to a salon and had my hair done by a professional. I've tried different brands of bleach, i.e. Splat, Jerome Russel, etc. After years of testing them out and frying my hair continuously, I found this "diamond in the rough" bleach, if you will. Cheap enough, very effective results, and I personally am beyond satisfied. Amazing bleach, will for sure buy again.

I got this kit with the recent promotional release of the new colors. I've wanted to try this bleach kit for awhile as the color dyes have never dissapointed. I am being 100% when I say this stuff is either Hair crack or made by hair gods themselves, I used the 20 kit on my sisters down to the waist, thick, bright pink/purple/red multi colored hair with the roots grown in and it lifted to a beautiful platinum blonde in SECONDS. I have been doing hair for over a decade and I've never encountered a bleach kit that lightened as evenly or as nicely as this kit does. My hair is shoulder length and naturally dark brown to almost black. This #40 bleach party did a phenomenal job turning my hair to a blonde / yellow color. Obviously, I did my roots last since the roots take on the mixture very quickly . That is with any bleaching brand however… My scalp is sensitive, so days after the bleaching and dye job my scalp was very itchy, sensitive to touch, tight feeling, and felt like welts were in certain spots unfortunately 🙁 I really wish a good conditioner would have accompanied the bleach party and or even the full coverage 'moshi' dye color which I also purchased. This was my second time using Lime Crime color. The first time the color didn't take at all because I never bleached my hair… (Surprisingly, the 'mochi' color which is a lavender hue didn't take well at all even with my hair bleached as well) 🙁 My hair turned a brassy / almost highlighted red and light brown shade. I bought the 40Vol. kit last week when I was in Wal-Mart. I absolutely love that I can buy Lime Crime locally and not have to deal with shipping. This is the “softest” bleach I have ever used. I have previously damaged hair due to heat and color. I have used a lot of different products of the years and this is absolutely my new favorite. I mixed up a Bleach Wash/Bath to remove a stubborn purple/blue color and it took it right out and it did not cause any damage to my hair. After rinsing the bleach out, my hair felt soft unlike other products that feel my hair feeling rough. This is a great product for people with already damaged hair. I'm not normally one for buying boxed hair color/bleach but this stuff works surprisingly well. I have dark hair. Plus I color it black from time to time. Well u wanted pink hair so naturally I need bleach. I saw this stuff and decided to try it. Boy was i surprised. Not only did it bleach my hair but it was almost white i did strip my gair first however which obviously you need to do if you already have color on your hair thats dark and you want to go lighter. i have box dyed black hair… and im trying to lift the color so i can add a vibrant color… like blue and purple… haha… it definitely lifts the color enough to add color ontop… but i left this on my hair for 75 min (past the 60 on the instructions..)… and mostly i only lifted the color to a golden brown… nothing close to the hyper platinum that the box promises to deliver… it sure beats spending 100s of dollars lifting it. i took the poor mans route… and although my desired look may not be achieved… i got some areas light enough to add color and it be noticeable… overall… i would not recommend this product. it does not do what its advertised to do. Even on my daughters virgin brown hair it only lifted it to a caramel color. insane. i thought for sure her hair would have no problem turning some shade of blonde!!DIAMOND
This works amazing well, it took three sessions of DIY hair dying with a 6 week break in between but I went from dark brown to platinum hair at home with no damage beyond split ends and a little dryness. Nothing Olaplex couldn’t handle…. I highly recommend this, but a note of caution, this is bleach and it can not be applied on already platinum Blonde hair! It will melt your already compromised hair off…. If you are not able to do a root touch up on your own without getting this on your already blonde hair please see a professional. I didn't approve or ask for this shade! I got starry black. I'm a natural blonde. In order for me to achieve black hair that doesn't turn green after the 1st wash,I would have to do a filler color first like a medium brown. I don't want to put all those chemicals on my hair. Plus I don't want black hair! I DID NOT USE THIS! I have used feria in the past though, I have used their bleaching kit and their auburn, red and black cherry shades. It is the only box dye I will use. It not only has an essential oil you add to it for a better smell but it also helps the hair feel softer and more hydrated as well as look shiny and healthy, well as healthy as dyed hair can look. For a box dye it's not bad. If I had gotten a color I approved of I totally would have used it! My daughter has medium golden brown hair and has been debating allowing me to use this on her. I'm a natural brunette and while I have dyed my hair a few times over the past couple years I've never went and done a crazy color now if you swipe over you will see I went bright blue and then very quickly decided that that did not fit my skin tone whatsoever and it need to die. The variety I used was l'oreal paris feria shimmering in deep violet. I took this 1st picture about a week after dying my hair with the dye and I had washed my hair about twice using color safe shampoo and color safe conditioning products. It immediately started fading pretty fast right after dying it was a really really dark navy blue with very slight purple undertones and for undertones and then after a few weeks of washing my hair and it's just continuing to lighten dramatically. Currently I'm back to a muddy/blue tinged green. I have used this brand of dye before in different colors when I was dying over brunette hair without any bleach involved and I also do remember that it faded very fast but it wasn't as noticeable because I was dying over dark Brown hair where it's now dyed over light blue and it's very easy to see how fast it has faded down. #complimentary #feriahaircolor
The box came with everything I needed for color application as well as after care. Instructions were easy enough to follow. There was enough color to fully saturate my hair. I started with light brown hair and it got it to a dark vibrant black. Washed as instructed and used after care products and my hair did not feel damaged. I don't like this bleach to be honest . It does lighten . But for my hair that's very dark, even using a 30-40 volume peroxide with the bleach it will maximum go 3 shades lighter. Unless you keep bleaching it 2-3x which I wouldn't recommend because it will be very damaging .Clairol does have another bleach that has blue powder and is Meant for darker hair . Bulk buy my bleach when I want to maintain stains in my hair. With a vol.20 -30 but definitely on the lower end. So I dont damage my hair from applying. I just bleach another round like a professional would instead of leaving a product in for more the 40 mins. Healthy hair is damage free hair. Dont forget to trim.

Just wanted to right a review and warn others. I mixed this bleach with ion 20 volume, like i normal do with bleaches i have used in the past. As soon as i poured this bleach in my mixing bowl i could feel it in my lungs. The bleaching proccess went well and I got the results I wanted, but my lungs continued to give me problems throughout the evening. I have a very sensitive scalp so I am used to my scalp bothering me on the normal and normally it is worse after bleaching for about a week. This time a noticed my scalp giving me a lot more problems (where I could not just ignore it!) after the bleaching process for a week or so. So my conclussion is, if you are prone to having bad reaction to a lot of different products I would not recomend this to you. However if that is not the case this is a great bleach that gives very nice results.hair=fun
I grabbed a packet of this to shift some stubborn reddish-orange dye from my mids and ends as I went back to a platinum pastel color. I mixed it with 20vol developer and before I even got 1/3rd of the way through applying it to my hair it was already hitting about a level 8 from my starting level 6-ish. after a full 45 minutes processing with some well placed foils to incubate and retain heat, my hair was a level 10. I had some spots where my previous red dye gripped hard that were a bit sunnier and more of a level 9, but I'm 99% platinum. It lifts FAST. Anyone needing to just shift a couple of levels needs to watch this process very carefully or use a 10 volume to slow it down some because it kicks into high gear ASAP. Relatively gentle too! Bleach is always damaging of course, but my scalp wasn't tight or prickly with this bleach and it shampoo-ed out easily.Audrey
The age beautiful ultra bond bleach is the ONLY bleach I use. It has amazing lift and has never damaged my hair. I use it with 20 v. Developer and it works quickly, with little to no burning or tingling on the scalp. This is a must try if you have mature hair! I am 55 and swear by Ultra Bond.

This cream bleach worked fabulously to lift my medium brown hair to a golden blonde. I wanted to try balayage at home so after a lot of research and watching YouTube tutorials, I decided to try this brand. There was essentially zero smell since there’s no ammonia. It was easy to mix and apply (I used foils). I think it’s important to note a few things though: 1. DO THE STRAND TEST FIRST. This part I think is vital. Make sure you follow the instructions provided, use a timer and keep track of how long the lifting process takes to reach the level you want. I checked it every 10 mins and realized I needed to leave the bleach on for 45 minutes before I was happy with the color. 2. If you’re going from dark to blonde, or have any warmer tones already in your hair, you will need a legit toner. This does not come with this kit. When you first rinse the bleach the results will probably be yellow/orange. Don’t freak out (yet). I used Clairol Professional Shampoo for Blonde & Silver hair to initially shampoo the bleach out. It’s a very pigmented purple to counteract those orangey tones. I then towel dried my hair and applied the Brite Purple Toning & Conditioning Hair Mask. I made sure my entire head was completely saturated and then left it in for 30 mins. You can purchase both of these toning options from Target as well. You can see the before and after in the attached photo. I’m very happy with the results!
After my hairdresser of 14yrs went AWOL, before Covid. I started playing around with doing my own hair. Especially with the restrictions we’ve seen over the last year. It’s best described as Bayalage brown to blonde. I do not use all over coverage so will not speak to that, however I’ve found that this is the best platinum to ash blonde that I’ve used so far. Following directions for mixture and processing time, I found this brand to give me the best results for what I wanted. The only thing I’ll likely do different on next application is probably reapply to strands half way through processing and possibly going a little over the 60 minute mark. I take care of my hair, use quality shampoos and conditioners, and most importantly take my vitamins. I have had no issues with breakage or hair loss. My hair is long, approximately 3 inches past my bra line. If you feel like you’re hair is already brittle I would not recommend this product or any bleaching until you’re working with a healthy foundation. Every bleach and coloring product is hard on your hair, so just nurture it a little bit, follow instructions and you should be great.ames904
My hair is a natural dark black and I was able to go to the most beautiful blonde most people have ever seen. I always get stopped and asked where did I go or what products did I use to achieve this level of blonde. I think the reason why the one star views are posting negative comment are because their hair was already previously colored or bleached and it doesn’t work for hair like that. I was told by a beautician that lifting your hair only works on natural hair color not colored hair but again I could’ve been misinformed. It only took me two times to get the lift and color I was aiming for and only because I needed help the second time around from my husband because I couldn’t get the back of my head right. Best of luck to everyone but this product is the only product that I recommend to anybody and everybody. And they’re deep moisture and conditioning Pure Plex products are the best hands down Mind you, all of these pictures are literally a year later. I can’t find any old ones from when I first did the blonde 8 lift color but it can show you how long it stays in your hair and how effective it really is. For reference my hair is a medium to light brown with an ash undertone and some gray hairs. Midnight blue is really nice with an undertone of a blue tint but no actual blue to your hair. Jet black is very dark, sharp and glossy looking. Natural black still solid coverage but a softer tone to it. Chestnut brown has a golden almost auburn color to it. Red hot rhythms is stunning when first applied but quickly loses color in less than a week making your hair look very much like a box dye job. Golden blond is true golden warm tone but again you need a professional to lighten your hair first in order for the color to take all the way through your hair. I don't know who has their nose broken, but the conditioner smells absolutely fabulous. Reminds of a salon honestly. obviously when you're dying you need to have a fan going but even that's not a bad smell. Bottom line as with any color going darker than your hair tone is always easy and possible. And going lighter impossible without a bleach or toner to lighten it first before depositing color. I really liked this brand, it was new to me and this is how I feel about it. Now that I’ve went through the process of dying my hair and the color has now been in for a full day. First the packaging was very neat and you knew what you were working with. Once opened everything was in the box with easy to read instructions. I was super excited to see the dye bottle was a twist off top. Usually I have to cut the tip of the dye bottle in the boxes dye that I normally use. The dye mixed after a few hard shakes, but once I poured into my hair I could see that it didn’t mix all the way so had to give a bit more hard shakes to get it to fully mix. The liquid itself was runny, I like my hair dye a bit less runny. The smell of it was not too powering, and once on the head and scalp it did burn a bit while I sat to catch my hair. The washout was nice and not messy. A few rinses and it came out clear. The product came with a very nice sized conditioner, that has left my hair super soft. The conditioner had a very nice smell. It reminded me of tropical fruit. My hair still smells like it, and I work all day. All my hair caught the color and came out great. I would recommend trying this brand if you have it within reach. This Clairol bleach lightener powder definitely gets the job done. The lift is great just tend to make the hair a little dried out. I typically like to use this product on bundles or enchanting more so than natural hair for the fact that it leaves my natural hair feeling a bit dry. But it definitely gives great lift so that a plus if you need a budget friendly alternative to do at home.kierra.b
I’ve used this on my roots for ages when I’m coloring my hair. I’ve also used it on friends to do balayage. It’s easy to use and the smell is mild compared to one other bleach I’ve used. I never use more than a 30 volume developer with it but the instructions say you can go higher. I do believe there are other brands that might be better but for the price and the amount you get, I can’t complain. I have very thick and long hair so this container last me for 6 months of managing my roots (I mix 2 bowls each time I need to do my roots). Like a lot of bleaches, this will give you aggressive “hot root” if you try to apply all over and process at the same time. Always do the roots last! Damage is very mild as long as I don’t go over 30 volume developer. It tones very well with any non clairol brand toner as long as it is lifted high enough. *I am not a stylist but have been experimenting with my own hair, and friends/family who trust me and acknowledge my lack of license for 10 years*josee.l
Works well and quickly. There was no damage to my hair. Having experience with this product in the smaller packets, I found it helpful to use as much or as little as I needed without waste. I would caution the inexperienced user — my favorite for bleaching and the best for your scalp. The only problem is some flaky/powdery stuff gets all over you when you are putting it in your hair, make sure you cover your clothing with a sheet or towel or wear clothing that is ok to bleach. they want you to believe that this is the original formula that they've had since the 1970s. It is not the original formula and their customers know it. It does not work anymore. you can leave it on for 2 hours and it still won't work like it used to. what a shame. you take a great product and then you ruin it and then have the nerve to put the word original formula on the box which is so not true. I have used this product for years now, to lighten my eyebrows .It works well, is affordable and readily available. Everything you need is included, for mixing the two ingredients. I do get a little stinging, but Oh…that's the price of beauty!! For me, this is the only one I use or will use because it works!
I tried this product today because I've seen some great reviews around the internet and was the first time that I've bleached my facial hairs. It was just amazing how it looked after a easy process to make the mix, it came with it's own bowl and I believe I'm still gonna have lots of applications from it! I am very very satisfied, the price is not bad and it gave amazing results even with the fact that I have sensitive skin. It's a 10/10 and I don't wanna even try another brand. 🥰venus.l
