Best Body Wash For Itchy Skin (2023 Update)

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. It is a Fragrance-free product that is suitable for "gentle cleansing and relieves itchy, dry skin". It is also dermatologist recommended because of which I decided to give this a try. My skin is usually dry and even more so, after a shower. The body wash is of thick consistency which lathers on quite luxuriously. My skin felt nourished during the showers. After the showers, I expected to see the same white dry skin I had been used to, BUT didn't. I would say 96% of the dryness has been addressed. The itchiness has completely disappeared. I am quite satisfied with the result and consider this to be a good product. It is definitely worth a try. I do recommend this product for all people with dry skin to try it and see the difference yourself.Bushra2001

It claims to be fragrance-free, and to gently cleanse skin to relieve itchy, dry skin. According to the packaging, it is also dermatologist recommended. I have very dry skin, especially on my back. I used this body wash, and wow it felt so good. It was easy to dispense, and the texture is like a mix between a gel and a cream. When rubbed in, it becomes a lather that is easy to rinse. My skin is also pretty sensitive (I'm allergic to random things, often shampoos and soaps) and there was no irritation afterwards. Although there is no fragrance, it does smell a little bit like essential oils… But I did not react! My skin feels less dry, and I know it is definitely thoroughly cleansed. I typically love Naturium products, but was disappointed with this purchase. I bought both the salicylic acid wash and hydrating oil wash. Both were difficult to use due to stuck pumps and I had to keep opening to pull out dip stick and reinsert. Then, upon using, the pump for salicylic acid wash cracked! Very disappointed. Was hoping to see how this product worked for my skin but now that is nearly impossible- nobody wants to have to completely open the package and dump it out into their hands.Naomi

I was a bit skeptical before buying this product because its ultimately fragrance free and i do enjoy an aromatic shower gel. However, i get acne spots in my back that leave dark spots and i absolutely hate it. Now being pregnant, my back got full of red acne and i had to do something. I’ve showered with it twice and the dots are no longer red and they seem to be fading. A few of my regular acne spots are also almost gone. I absolutely love this! My only disclaimers are theses if you have really dry skin as I do, although this product isn’t drying, It doesn’t have enough moisture. I purchased this to see how my dry winter skin would respond. Then I bought another one! The consistency is creamy and light, and very soft. It creates very little lather with hands or with a pouf. It rinses very clean with no feeling of residue. There is no fragrance. I was happy with how soft and calm my skin felt after using it. I like this product and would repurchase.Stjinnova

My sons dermatologist gave him samples when he was battling ongoing skin infections on his face and body. He has Crohns disease and suddenly he was experiencing skin infections starting in his nostrils and then moving to his face, behind his ear, his neck… It was bad. It's a very generous size bottle and is going to last super long. The body wash is very nourishing and lathers so well. It has a very beautiful fragrance, however, it's not overpowering and strong. I didn’t need another reason to look forward to bedtime, but this body wash has made my nighttime routine one of my favorite parts of the day! I use this with my exfoliating spa gloves and my skin is left feeling so soft and moisturized. I know some people don’t care for the scent but I think it’s incredible! I absolutely love it and it also leaves my bathroom smelling great. I really love the added benefit of Retinol but haven’t been using it long enough to see any real results. Unfortunately I ran out of the Cetaphil Eczema body wash and had to buy this because the cetaphil wasn't in stock. It's too expensive to be so horrible. The wash is very runny, and I end up spilling most of the bottle's contents when using it. It also has a weird smell that reminds me of castor oil. Also, I don't even know if the product is actually on my skin when showering. There are no suds nor do I feel the product on my skin, it seems like it immediately washes away. The other CeraVe washes could be better (I haven't tried any of them) but don't waste your money on this one.RMF

I love Cerave products. I have the SA face wash, foaming face cleanser, SA body wash and the lotion. I thought this would be perfect. The first issue? It's like water. It just pours out of the bottle. It's a ten ounce bottle and I feel like I used five ounces in my shower. Too expensive for so much waste. I went out to my care put the balm on my hands and felt instant relief , hope at last. I went back to the store bought the other three or four sticks they had in stock. I called CeraVe to see if they made the same formula in a larger container,I was told no ,but that CeraVe had just introduced the "Red Line Of Products" specifically targeted for people with severe eczema. I still have to take one or the other occasionally. The reason I took the time to write this review is the simple hope it will help someone else. The Skin Is The Largest Organ On Your Body. When It Is Itching Constantly it is hard to concentrate on anything else. I highly recommend CeraVe Soothing Body Wash 10 oz along with the other CreaVe products mentioned above. I am told there is no cure for Severe Eczema, so at least the CeraVe Soothing Body Wash 10 oz let me tolerate and sooth the itch after taking a shower which in my case the itch can be almost intolerablemullhull1

Honestly, I dislike this bottle so much. It is so slippery when hands are wet (whose hands aren’t when baths involve children). And the flip top isn’t easy to open one handed. While these might be minor issues, I think they make or break a product when it comes to baby/kids bath time. It doesn’t lather and is rather difficult to wash off (plus makes your kids skin slippery, so beware). It does help during eczema flare ups, so I only use during the dry season and thankfully we’re out of that now.twinmama

This product is one of the best products I have used for both face and body. I have dry and flaky skin. This product made me clean without a tight feel. It’s extremely gentle and through it doesn’t foam (which I am thankful for since foam generally sucks out moisture), it gets the job done. This stuff is magic. Not only did it moisturize me skin, it worked amazing for shaving and didn’t get razor bumps due to it! It smells creamy and i prefer the smell (not scented) over the yellow bottle they have. I’m never going back, if you have dry skin, go for it, if you have eczema? You should buy this now! My eczema is light but after two showers the dry patches disappeared 😩 no cream for eczema was working and this just made them vanish! This has been my daily body/face/hair wash for about 8 years now. Every now and then I try a different body wash but keeping coming back to this one. It's the perfect balance of cleaning power and moisturizing power. I find most body washes either too weak to clean properly or too strong which dries out my skin. This Jack Black body wash has a mild scent. It makes you feel nice and clean. If you like to use cologne quite frequently. The scent of the body wash won't overpower the scent of the cologne. Most Old Spice body washes do that. Buf this body wash won't. It's very good to use before a date if you want to have a fresh scent. Then put on your favorite cologne. Have always used more gentle cleansers and products. A month ago, the center of my face suddenly became raw, raised spots, and painful. No idea why. Needed something immediately to calm my face and possibly rebuild my barrier. Chose this and the related moisturizer. After one week, all was calm. After three weeks my skin is better than even! I use this mostly as a face cleanser instead of a body wash since it has no fragrance. This stuff removes dirt, oil, and makeup effortlessly. It even melts off my mascara while also being so gentle and hydrating. I bought this bottle 8 months ago and I just now have a quarter of a bottle left! Absolultey love this wash. I got a sample from my dermatologist and noticed it was not drying my skin out. I have constant redness on my face (looks like a sunburn). I suffer from dermatitis and have been struggling to find shower products that help my skin and scalp. While I do like my current products, I noticed that after a year of using them, they aren’t as effective anymore, so I have been trying to find other products to alternate between. I came across Wild Naturals on my search and am really glad I decided to give them a try. I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I LOVE the body wash and conditioner. The shampoo is good, but as someone who itches a lot, I prefer a product that foams a bit more (just makes me feel cleaner), so I have to use quite a bit to get that effect. As a result, I will likely go through the bottle pretty quickly. The body wash is great and I definitely feel clean. The conditioner is amazing! A very small amount goes a long way! I did notice that if I leave it in for 2-3 minutes as directed on the bottle, my hair is greasy the next day, so now I only leave it in for about 1 minute and that has made a big difference. This product has quickly replaced my other body washes. I love that the body wash lathers very quickly on my loofah, even when I don't use more than a quarter sized dollop. The scent is light and pleasant. I have been using for about a month now and have never had a reaction on my sensitive skin. It’s even great for shaving— my legs always feel smooth and soft afterwards. The one weird thing I noticed is that this is some settling of the product (I guess the salt?). I've tried to shake it up or turn the bottle upside down overnight, but a weird pink sediment remains. This is a weird one. There’s what I assume to be salt, that sinks to the bottom, and looks like sediment in the bottle. The body wash itself is so thick you can’t get it to mix back in by shaking it (trust me, both myself and my boyfriend tried when the bottle was full, half full; it only mixed when it was nearly empty). It comes out like normal, slightly-too-thick shower gel but then it gets weird. It doesn’t lather immediately when you get it wet and start trying to lather it. It almost gets to be like gel shaving cream, when it hasn’t turned from gel to foam totally. You have to work it a little extra to get to actually foam instead of sitting on your skin like… well, weird whiteish jelly. Once it does foam, it does wash away easily. I didn’t have any issues with it leaving residue or the like; I didn’t notice my skin feeling any more or less hydrated compared to any other body wash I’ve used. It smells alright, I might not be keen on the salt note in it personally. I like clary sage, I’m okay about neroli but in combination, it’s a little bit strange. I’ve never had a product that was Himalayan salt however this exceeded my expectations. The only comment I would have to make to improve this product is the packaging. I would like to retract (and I reported so maybe they reach out to me) my review from a few months ago. For about 6 months, I had solely been using the old version of this product for my sensitive skin. It was amazing and did not act up my sinus allergies. However, about a month after finally writing a review, the company changed their product. This new product is not for sensitive skin and not for people who have skin or sinus allergies. It is no longer creamy but gelish. The important and natural ingredients have been moved down the list, just as many ingredients have been replaced or moved down for synthetic and chemical ridden ingredients. I have a very sensitive skin and get itchy when using strong products especially body wash and shampoos. This product doesn’t made me itchy after 2x of using it at night. It smells so good but not overly perfumed. I received this for free from topbox circle. I never really thought about trying this brand before but now that I tried this body wash and was very happy with it, I will go buy some of their shampoo and lotion. I was sent a bottle of this shower gel for review purposes. The consistency and feel of the gel is pleasant; it lathers well, feels quite nourishing and does not leave my skin feeling tight or dry. I followed with the Necessaire Body Serum and feel they are a good combination. The packaging's appearance is non-offensive, although not particularly appealing to me, but I really like the twist top. The fragrance is subtle, which is fine as eucalyptus can be quite overpowering, but I'm not sure I would have recognised it as eucalyptus and didn't particularly like it. I love this body wash. The scent is so subtle but it lingers. The smell has a relaxing quality which I love. It lathers up very well. I use a loofah and a few drops works the whole body. The skin feels so soft. I like that this brand uses key ingredients that work effectively to treat the skin. I was given this product to review but as I was so impressed I bought the exfoliant. This stuff lathers up well and makes skin feel incredibly soft. The Eucalyptus scent immediately transforms your shower into a spa (well, if you close your eyes at least 😅). But really, this scent’s staying power is impressive. I also love that it does not irritate my extremely sensitive skin. I also own (and basically soak myself in) this brand’s body lotion. Showering with this makes me feel boujie AF. First of all, the scent is that signature we have all come to know and love by Oribe. I can’t really describe it, but it’s great. Second, it’s great for cleansing without drying out my skin. The entire bathroom smells like this while showering and the scent lingers once you get out. This is definitely a treat yourself indulgence given the price, but I must say that the bottle lasts awhile. Like all Oribe products, the ingredients and scent are very concentrated so you don’t need much to work up a nice lather (about a quarter sized amount).emma.a

I LOVE this body wash. It smells so delicious and it leaves your skin feeling so soft. You almost don’t need lotion after your shower. This body wash is on the pricier end, but I think it’s totally worth the price, once you consider the size of the bottle and how amazing it makes your skin feel. I received a sample of this recently and it’s just as lovely as I expected it to be, if you love the smell of the hair care line you love this. I noticed when using it a little goes a long way, it foams up beautifully and it’s non stripping and slightly moisturising. This is a lovely gift for someone who loves the hair line, as it’s a bit on the pricey side, though I’m sure it would last quite long due to it being so concentrated. Not something I would buy on the regular more of an extravagant treat.Ursula

I bought this product on a whim and have been using it for a little over a week. I didn’t have any expectations going in but I have never been so soft and smooth. I feel like my legs are smoother after shaving and overall my skin is just silkier. The pump is bothersome as some others mentioned but it doesn’t bother me so much since the product has been so wonderful. I don’t worry about the lather because I don’t solely use this product as apart of my routine. I coat my skin in this and let it sit for a few minutes then rinse and follow up with a moisturizing then oil body wash. It sounds like a lot but it only takes around 10 minutes and I’m so smooth and hydrated that it’s worth it. Will purchase again.Tompki922

You hardly get any product from each pump and it doesn't lather, so you really need a *lot* of pumps for each wash. I used 50 pumps and that still wasn't enough for one wash. And I am an average sized person. Because it doesn't lather, I feel like it doesn't clean that effectively either (I used a loufah). It also smells like some combination of Dove body wash and some really bad smell. And it seems like that Dove body wash smell is an attempt to mask the bad smell. Though there is no fragrance or masking fragrance listed in the ingredients, so that's strange. And that Dove body wash smell sticks with you even after you leave the shower for a while. I would not buy this again, and I'm considering just throwing it in the trash. I also bought the smoothing Cetaphil body wash in the same order, so hopefully that isn't as bad as this.Alaska

I have been using this for almost a week and I’ve seen a noticeable results for my acne in the arms. It’s just a span of days and my acne are getting disappeared. What I like about it is non-fragrance and very moisturized and gentle for my sensitive skin since I have prone eczema skin. The formula is great and the package can last you a months. Disclaimer is don’t use it everyday because it can cause irritation and just apply it every other day and apply a thick moisturizer to prevent any irritation. The active ingredient is 2% salicylic acid, might get into skin purging phase however it is just a mild cleanser. Overall, I love it and it is good for my body acne.iHerb Customer

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. It is a Fragrance-free product that is suitable for "gentle cleansing and relieves itchy, dry skin". It is also dermatologist recommended because of which I decided to give this a try. My skin is usually dry and even more so, after a shower. The body wash is of thick consistency which lathers on quite luxuriously. My skin felt nourished during the showers. After the showers, I expected to see the same white dry skin I had been used to, BUT didn't. I would say 96% of the dryness has been addressed. The itchiness has completely disappeared. I am quite satisfied with the result and consider this to be a good product. It is definitely worth a try. I do recommend this product for all people with dry skin to try it and see the difference yourself.Bushra2001

It claims to be fragrance-free, and to gently cleanse skin to relieve itchy, dry skin. According to the packaging, it is also dermatologist recommended. I have very dry skin, especially on my back. I used this body wash, and wow it felt so good. It was easy to dispense, and the texture is like a mix between a gel and a cream. When rubbed in, it becomes a lather that is easy to rinse. My skin is also pretty sensitive (I'm allergic to random things, often shampoos and soaps) and there was no irritation afterwards. Although there is no fragrance, it does smell a little bit like essential oils… But I did not react! My skin feels less dry, and I know it is definitely thoroughly cleansed. I would definitely recommend this body wash. For anyone with dry winter skin like me, and skin that is easily irritated, this is amazing.Maxy1968

I've been using this product for a few years now. It lathers well, smells great, and works for my very sensitive skin. It is also affordable. Lately though, I've been a bit disappointed by the fact that St. Ives continues to use artificial colors in these products, despite being very "natural" and promoting "nature." While it never occurred to me that this would be an issue, I've been reading a lot on added colors in foods and toiletries and how they can cause issues in children; so for me, I just think that it would be nice to avoid artificial colors if I can. I may switch to an organic line, but I'd love to see St. Ives think about removing them from their formula.Megan

The new formula is BAD. The primary ingredients were moved down the list with fragrance and additives now coming before the shea butter and oatmeal. The texture is no longer creamy and soothing — feels CHEAP. Lastly, SHRINKFLATION is happening with this brand — checked the old bottles' ounces with the new and it lost 2 ounces. This wouldn't be so bad if they had kept the formula the same, but while simultaneously cheapening their formula as well I felt flat-out swindled. I immediately exchanged this bottle for CeraVe hydrating body wash and complained to everyone I knew about this brand. My family will no longer be purchasing St. Ives and I will no longer stock it for guests in our vacation rentals. I would rather pay more for a good product than have the brand sneakily CHEAP OUT on their product while keeping the price the same. Shameful.julie

I especially enjoy the frgrance that tends to linger. I receive numerous compliments about how good "I" smell. Lathers very nicely. I always carry it whenever I travel. What's not to like. I have been using it for something like 15 – 20 years and have remained a loyal as long as I am able to find it. I was pleasantly surprised to be able to find it in Thailand, however, as of late I am having more & more difficulty in locating it. Thanks.
