Best Hair Straightening Brush For Curly Hair (2024 Update)

As someone who has curly and thick hair, straightening it is the hardest part of getting ready even if I dried it with my blow drier before and it isn't as curly as it normally is. I bought this today when it caught my eye as I was leaving. I have been curious about these kinds of straighteners ever since that first video went viral. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Two or three passes done correctly and done! You do have to section your hair especially if it's thick but it leaves your hair much nicer than if you used a regular flat iron. Doesn't pull out that much hair, maybe three or four strands here or there, nothing you wouldn't lose with a flat iron. Doesn't take that long to heat up but follow the instructions for your hair type. All around a great product if you count in that it does the same thing those $80 or $90 brush straighteners do for a lower price. As with anything, following the instructions is key. Not recommend for oily hair and you CANNOT use any type of heat protector or any products (heat safe or not) in your hair with ANY of these straightening brushes on the current market. Trust me, I've tried all from the cheap brands to the expensive and they all work GREAT and last awhile when you DON'T add products or have very oily hair because they leave a residue that is very hard if not impossible to fully clean off these things! Even if it looks clean it's still there! its a problem because then after use 2,3,4 etc times it smells, burns and causes it to overheat and damage your hair. The whole point of this is to do little to no damage to your hair but still have similar results that of a flat iron. It also doesn't get down to the roots of curly/very curly hair or thick. Hair tools are one key thing when trying to grow or manage your hair, the wrong tools can hinder most of the progress you are seeking to make. Now if you have soft silky hair, hair management is so easy peasy for you. Great for you, we love you too but we with thick or coarse hair want at the very least to have worthy tools for our battle with the hair. Being black, I have very thick tight;y curled hair, so straightening it takes hours. The thought of just running a brush through my hair and having it all straightened is so drool worthy. The only down side is the limit of its temp setting, if it could go higher, meaning faster straightening for really curly hair. It took some time but it did straighten my hair, without me spending back breaking hours, sectioning and straightening my hair. All it took was slow even brush strokes, through my mane and little by little I saw it straightening my tightly curled hair. Another flaw for me is in its design, that being the position of the control buttons. The buttons being by the side on the grip handle, means that every time you apply pressure to drag the brush through thick hair your fingers will be hitting the controls. messing with the temp settings. With that being said this is worth the buy. This brush has been a worthy addition to my arsenal, its design and function means better control over the mane. Trust me taming the 'Fro' is no easy task and any brush that can tangle with mine and not limp out a broken sordid mess is worth a mention. I have curly hair combination type of 2b and 2c. It’s fairly easy to use and works best when you part your hair by pieces. It doesn’t give you the same straight hair you would achieve with a regular hair straightener but it did eliminate majority of my frizz after blow drying it. I did have to touch it up with my straightener afterwards a bit mostly on my ends. It was faster than using my straightener. It took me an overall of 8 minutes to straighten my hair and mine is mediums length and usually takes 15-20 with my straightener. The reason I’ll be keeping it is because I sometimes add curls to my hair and it just made it easier to style after running the thermal brush first. It also does overall feel ‘less damaging’ than using a regular hair straightener.KatttKattt

Love this brush so much! I have long, wavy hair with some frizz. (I have loose curls when my hair is shorter.) This replaces my flat iron completely. I section my hair and run the brush along the underside of each section so that the hot plate contacts the hair. It straightens, reduces the frizz, but doesn’t flatten the body out of my hair. And it’s so much faster to use that it’s now part of my regular morning routine before a day of online meetings. I don’t know how well it would work if your hair is very curly or textured, but for me, it’s perfect.Elle049

So good, I bought a backup just in case! I have 2C/3A pattern naturally curly hair that I could never really achieve a smooth, sleek look on with a flat iron. It was always either dull looking or had a stubborn bend to it that refused to come out. The only way I'd been able to achieve straight, glossy hair was with a round ceramic brush, a blowdryer + concentrator attachment, and an hour of my time, painstakingly going over and over tiny sections. This straightening brush was such a game-changer for me!! It heats up super-quickly, is adjustable in increments of 10 degrees until 430 degrees max (I think) and the heat is radiated into the bristles, which means you can achieve sleek, polished results on larger sections of hair. I can do my whole head in 13 sections, with about 3-4 passes per section, and I can do my whole head in about 20 minutes. I pre=treat my hair with Alterna Caviar CC Cream for protection, and I usually air-dry unless I'm in a hurry. I like for my hair to be ever-so-slightly damp when I use this straightening brush, because the steam results in major shine. For finishing product, I like Aveda Anti-Humectant Pomade to block out humidity and keep frizz at bay. Keeping this brush clean is a little tricky, but what works for me is a little refillable spray bottle filled with rubbing alcohol and the large brush from the Camelbak bottle brush set. The bottle brush bristles are long enough to reach between the bristles of your straightening brush and dislodge any crud. I then carefully rinse the bristles under hot water (unplugged, of course!) making sure to direct the water away from the housing of the brush, and let it air dry positioned such that water doesn't enter the brush. Amika doesn't really give you instructions how to maintain this brush, but this is what works for me, and I hope you've found it useful!sabrina.v

I have been using the Amika 2 in 1 blow dryer + straightening brush to blow out my curly, frizzy hair. I love that I don't need to hold two separate items and I get a brush and dryer in one. I use flat irons, but I want to sustain less damage to my already dry hair so this seems like a good solution. The paddle brush style allows for a sleeker blow out which is helpful for me since I have very frizzy hair. I definitely save time using this Amika styler than I would trying to accomplish the same thing with a brush and blow dryer. It doesn't tug at my hair even when it's still damp and curly, fortunately. I like that it has different temperature settings for drying, blowing out straight, touch up. It's a little awkward when placing the brush underneath hair and hair can blow upward, but I put at a lower setting or hold hair taught at the end of the brush at that point. I haven’t seen this type of tool yet from other brands so it is quite unique. So here’s a more in depth *REVIEW*. You may ask yourself, how does this compare to the blowdryer brush that you see everywhere? I am here to tell you some of the differences. First of all this brush, has a blowdryer component but it’s also a thermal brush. That being said, I noticed several times that I wanted to handle it like the blowdryer brush and touch the brush part. You have to be careful because you can not touch the inside comb area, it’s very hot. This tool will not give you the same volume as the blowdryer brush does. To add some volume I found that blowdrying my hair with my head flipped upside down helped add some volume before I smoothed out the hair. As well, it’s a little more challenging to round out the edges of your hair, you have to handle the brush to wrap your ends around it. There are three I definitely noticed my hair overall smoother using this tool that the blowdryer brush. However, it does not necessarily replace the smoothness that you get with a flat iron. It’s a good in between the blowdryer brush and the flat iron. I even tested it out on my daughter who has coarse curly hair, it worked very well. This is such a unique multi tool, I’ve never used anything like it! I love that it does the work of two products, a heated straightening brush and a blow drying straightener. You can use either feature or a combination of both, depending on the look you want. It’s not heavier than other straightening dryers, plus it does such a great job at effectively drying and straightening, so even though I have a ton of curly/wavy hair, it’s not a huge ordeal to use this and cuts my styling time down by an hour almost. I have a few things I don’t like. First, because the heating brush is more towards the center of the device due to the design, that you can’t get really close to the roots and you may need to go back over your roots with a flat iron to ensure that it is really straight. However, in a pinch, this brush is perfect for a sleek, blown-out look. Second, you can’t control the temperature, it’s set at 365* F if I’m not mistaken. For people who have coarser hair like me, that means more passes with the brush which can actually end up being more damaging if you’re not careful. I have very coarse, thick, wavy hair. I have only ever used a flat iron before. When I bought this I was actually shopping for a replacement for my awesome, but 16+ year old flat iron. I bought this on whim, because honestly, the price. I even asked the Ulta associate about their return policy because I was sure this tiny thing wouldn't work in my giant, poofy, frizzy hair. I was 98% sure I was returning it. Now, as another reviewer said this will not really straighten you hair if you have A LOT of hair, although it did better than expected, but it would make wavy hair pretty smooth. It's not going to give you flat iron results. It also didn't really turn my ends under the way I like. What it did do, and what I actually bought it for was to straighten a terrible cowlick that I have on one side of my head that kinks up over night no matter how satiny or silky my pillowcase is or how careful I am to not sleep on that side of my head. The first morning that used this I had a particularly tossy-turny night of sleep and my hair was a complete mess. I thought it was going to be a ponytail day. But this little thing straightened out all the kinks and left my hair looking like the day before when it was freshly ironed. I'm actually really glad I purchased this and I almost wish I'd purchased the full size unit, but this works just fine. Especially for the price point. At the same time that I bought this I bought a pretty pricey flat iron that was a huge disappointment and will be getting returned. I have thick wavy hair and I like to straighten and smooth my hair every day so I usually use a hair straightener every day. I have never had a brush that straightens my hair so this product was something I was very intrigued by and excited to use. The brush is compact which I absolutely love! I love small appliances that don't take up a lot of space, it would be great for people who travel since it's so compact. It's simple to use, you push a button and it heats up quick. It does a good job at making my hair frizz free and smooth which I really like. I did have to use it a couple of times on the same strands of hair to get stick straight hair. I have a lot of hair so if I am in a rush I will just use the mini brush to smooth out the top layers of my hair. The Instyler Mini brush is a versatile product for sure. I had never used a ceramic straightening brush before but this product made me fall in love with it! I also did not know Instyler had ceramic brushes but glad I now have one since I really enjoy Instyler products. I feel like it makes my hair look great no matter what look I am aiming for. I am actually planning on buying the brush for my mom as a gift since she has really frizzy hair and she is looking for something to help tame away the frizz. I have a great flat iron but it will only take small amount of hair to straighten. Since this brush is longer , you can put more hair in it to straighten. I did find it works best on second day hair. Right after I washed my hair after blow out , I felt the straightening brush made my ends frizzy. Flat iron works better on just washed hair. I will keep the Revlon product since it's not expensive. My hair is curly and I need to put a lot of effort into making it look smooth. This is a good extra tool to have in my drawerCc

Love this! It does not make my hair pin straight (I have wavy hair that is pretty easy to straighten with a regular flat iron). I love the "brush" design since it makes it much easier to smooth my hair out. I swoop the ends a bit to add some more body and bounce, which looks so pretty and effortless. Great product! Good but snags hair. I’ve been growing out bleached hair. So there is some breakage. I use a heat protection spray then do small sections making my way up my head. On the breakage areas, I definitely feel this straightening brush tug. Even when I detangle sections first, it still snags. I’m hoping with time it won’t be as bad, as it was my first use. Next time, I plan on taking super thin sections in the bad areas and going slow and gentle. Now that I know what to expect, it should go better. Great styling tool though. I love that it’s long and I can take a longer section and get my hair done in less time. Swivel cord is nice too.AFW

I received the MiroPure as a gift and was fairly skeptical because my hair is very curly and these types of straighteners never quite work on my hair. I was incredibly surprised when I used it for the first time and after a few passes my hair was fairly straight. This is a great product to use when wanting to team and calm down frizzy and curly hair in a jiffy. Since this is a brush straightener it doesn’t quite get to the roots to completely straighten, and my ends always tend to be drier than the rest. I love this brush. It's great for when you want to straighten your hair really fast. It definitely does not do the same job as a regular flat iron would, but it's close enough. My husband bought me this because I was complaining about how long it took to do my hair and how bad my original straightener was frying my hair. I have very thick curly hair. I tried this straightener and it did heat up very fast however it only made my hair frizzy and did not straighten my roots at all. It did make my hair straight(ish). The best thing about it, is you can place your hand on it while it's on and it will it burn you because it heats in the actual brush. Because of this, I have it to my 8 year old daughter who has thin wavy hair. She loves that she can turn it on and use it any time she wants without having to worry about burning herself! Also, if works GREAT for her hair! No frizz and her hair is done in less than 10 minutes. So I'd agree, it's not made for thick hair but if you have thin hair.. get it!Teresa

I am very glad I kept it and fall in love more and more each day. Pros: 1. So much more relaxing to straighten brushing than a straightening iron. It's literally theraputic and now and I love the act of smoothing and straightening my hair. 2. Less damage to my ends. 3. When you get the hang of it you can add lift, curves, and volume. 4. Doesn't burn my scalp if I get close to shape and build volume. 5. My hair looks naturally straighter..not stick straight and smoother when product is used prior. Cons: 1. The bristles warped on the first use. 2. My hair was frizzy within 20 minutes without a silicone based product and heavy leave in moisturizer. It helped to add an oil post straightening and twist it into a bun in a "cool down" setting phase. Yet this left my hair with curly ends. 3. This is not meant for going from super curly to super straight. Your hair needs to be dry, combed through thoroughly, and executed slowly. 4. I don't see this working for coils and tight textures. 5. It's hard to get super close to your roots if you have tight baby curls. Overall, I enjoy it way more than straightening with an iron post blow drying. I finally but the bullet at got this one, and this cuts my styling time in half! Also, I have inflammation in my wrists, and fingers so this allows me to eliminate having to blowout my hair before styling! I still have volume, and I use a straightener after to create waves, or to straighten it even more. I have thick, curly, non-course hair. Love this thing!Christina

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed in this. It's not that it's a bad product but it didn't really offer me any benefit over using a flat iron. The brush is larger than I expected which makes it difficult to straighten near the roots of my hair. The brush works best under tension, so you have to hold the bottom of your hair as you brush which means your ends don't really get finished off well. The brush takes a while to heat up and you have to work in smallish sections which makes this actually more time-consuming for me. I also don't like the position of the buttons on the handle because I kept accidentally pressing them while I was using this. I didn't find that this made my hair shiny but no heat tool has ever made my hair shiny so I don't fault this. I wish it offered something more than my flat iron like being able to use it with damp hair but you can't do that so I don't see any benefits to using this other than I'm less likely to burn myself. I do like the design with the longer non-heated bristles on the outside so you can place the brush facing your head without burning yourself. Perhaps if I had thinner hair this would work great but with my thick, unruly hair, this isn't the best option for me.Frescalee3

I've never had a straightening brush so I was very pumped to use this. First off I have curly frizzy hair so I thought this was going to be a challenge. I put heat protection in my hair then turned on the brush. I did a single stroke and was blown away by the outcome. I walked away with straight hair and recieved so many compliments which I could only attribute to Remington. Now there is 3 heat settings. You choose which is best for you. This brush is infused with argan oil and keratin to give a consistent heat and give you a smooth and beautiful shine. I found this to be of really great quality and performance when it comes to getting my hair straightened and without being damaging. I have very thick coarse hair that I color treat but just mainly at the roots. So with that I don't want to add more stress to my hair. This is easy to hold without being super heavy and I can easily reach the back of my hair which is longer than the front. Has a longer cord that can reach my outlet which is nice since I can sit down when doing my hair being more comfortable and relaxed. I like how it moves with me and the cord doesn't get caught or tangled up. Cool to the touch and super easy to straighten since it's a brush. It makes my hair feel smooth as I can control the heat settings as there are three to choose from. I'm able to comb through my hair and straighten it at the same time making it a winner for me. I had my daughter try it and she has fine hair and she loved it as she was done in under ten minutes on setting two. She can easily squeeze it in before she has to be at school. Her hair was soft and full of shine but still had some frizz. As for me I had to go over my strands a few times and it wasn't perfectly straight on some parts but I liked how it gave me shine. Also that I still had some body and lift left in my hair. It's quiet and quick and we both enjoyed the results even though it doesn't give you sleek straight hair!!Amberrose061980

Cute product. Great concept. I have thick wavy hair, especially my underneath layers. I used washed and dried my hair, which took most wave out. The brush did a good job with the already straight pieces but for the wavy underneath it just didn’t do well at all. the front looks good but if you look in the back, you can tell it was a straightening fail. i tried for about 20 minutes in total spending most time on my underneath layers and the waves just would not get straight. i would not recommend this on its own. I’d rather just take the time to flat iron my hair. Although, i’m sure it would be good for already straight hair, for touch ups, but just not well for wavy / curly hair. slightly disappointed since it says for all hair types.Austyn Pagliaro

This product is excellent. I have very curly hair and do Japanese straightening once a year. When I'm in between treatments, I used to use a straightening iron which just kills my arm (and my hair). I was a little skeptical at first but thought I'd give this a try and I'm honestly pleasantly surprised. I section my hair and brush it while lifting each section and it works great, and because it's not literally burning my hair the way an iron does, it looks much shinier and healthier and takes less time too! The Flower Straighting Hot Brush is fantastic! I am obsessed over this one. It is so easy and quick to use. I have never tried a hot brush but have wanted. This amazing hot brush is so much quicker then my typical flat iron. It glides through my hair so easy, getting any little knot that I may have missed brushing it in the process. With a flat iron I would have to do it little piece by piece and do that piece a few times, but with this, its one, maybe twice and it's smooth and straight. I use it everyday now. There is four heat settings. It heats up to 410 degrees. One of my favorite features is the automatic shut off. After 45 minutes, it will shut off, which I find is super important! It is absolutely adorable also! Simple but perfect all in one. I highly highly recommend this wonderful product by Flower. You will fall in love the first time you use it and will use it everyday! This product was nothing but a disappointment. My hair type is wavy, frizzy, and poofy. Just like a previous review, I also have my hair up in a bun majority of the time and thought this would be a great tool to use to help me straighten my hair more often. This product claims to straighten hair in a faster pace, which I was looking forward too since it usually takes me around an hour and a half to iron my hair with a straightening iron. The only thing this straightening brush did was make my hair even MORE poofy. It did “straighten” (barely, but whatever) my hair in a faster pace, which was around 30 minutes, but my hair looked like a mess. It was SO POOFY. I had to go over it with a straightener to make it look somewhat normal. I did purchase this on their website with an Influenser’s promo code, so I was not able to make a return since I used the code. It definitely wasn’t worth the full price, and barely worth the discounted rate as well. The only reason why I still use this is so I can get my hair “straightened” in 30 minutes and then retouch with a regular iron, rather than spending a whole 1.5 hours on the iron alone. I received my Foxy Bae straightening brush today and I was so excited to try this. I have tried other straightening brushes and not been too happy with the results. I have very long, thick, curly and unruly hair. When I got the box and opened it, the first thing I noticed is that it came in an very stylish box which is an huge plus for me. It looked so beautiful sitting there when I opened it, and to my surprise it came with two hair clips, which I definitely needed considering my others have all been misplaced or taken. I took it out of the box and it felt amazing in the hand. I felt the bristles and they felt very well made. I then plugged it up and turned it on. It’s got an digital face for the temp and so I adjusted the temp. It heated up extremely fast and that’s awesome. I will state that the back of the brush got very very hot to the touch and the sides where the rose gold bezel is at got very hot, I burned my pinky while straightening/brushing my hair on this. I sectioned my hair and began to use their straightening brush. I had just washed my hair yesterday and dried it with Amikas blow drying brush (awesome) and I didn’t use any products to tame the frizz or fly aways. I didn’t curl it or anything. I simply went to bed afterwards. So when I got my straightening brush in the mail today I was beyond excited and my hair was ready to try it. While I found the brush to get extremely hot, it shouldn’t have ever burned me. I burned my ear and my pinky using this brush. It did do its job and tame my hair while straightening it. I could definitely see myself using this brush as an quick fix to just straighten or go over next day hair. I haven’t used this brush on my hair when it dries curly though and so I can not speak to how it does on hair that hasn’t been dried straight. I do know that in the past straightening brushes did not work for me as an straightening tool when my hair has dried curly and for this reason alone I do not use them often. This brush is built better then the Head Kandy straightening brush, which I have used and did not like nor did it work in my hair. I will say the head Kandy had one benefit, it did not burn no matter where you touched it at. I think that Foxy Bae straightening Brush will work for all hair types, even very curly hair like mine. I also think that you shouldn’t allow pre-teens to use this tool alone, as it does and is capable of burning you. Over al this brush seemed to straighten my hair, leave it shiny and beautiful. It isn’t “sleek” like when you do it with an actual flat iron. It looks full and healthy with some volume and body to it, not stuck flat to the side of my head. I like the way my hair looks and feels after using this brush and while I would recommend this brush to someone who likes to use straightening brushes or is wanting to try one. I would warn you about the downfalls of this brush, it gets VERY hot and it can and will burn you and so be very careful. I even lowered the temp way down and it still was hot and burned. So my flat iron needed to be retired. I have medium/course thick hair that has a mind of its own ( some of its sorta straight, parts are curly and other parts are wavy), so i have been straightening my hair near daily for years. I was looking for an alternative that might be a little more gentle on my hair then a flat iron. I bought a brush similar to this at a different store, liked the results, hated the design ( the buttons where on the top of the handle where you gripped and i kept either turning it off or turning the temp up to a much higher temp that would have fried my hair, plus the handle where you put your hand got super hot). So i returned the other one to the other store, and ended up purchasing this front ulta… I love this one! My hair gets pretty straight ( not pin straight, but thats fine because my hair never stayed pin straight), and has volume to it. It smoothes out fly aways fairly well too. Even though the buttons are on the handle, they are recessed enough that im not hitting them, turning the temp up accidentally. The brush is comfortable to hold and the handle does not get hot. I was pretty quick in the morning with my flat iron, but im even quicker with this. Overall, im so happy i purchased this and would highly recommend. I have wanted to try the original instyler, but i always though i would burn myself with that hot metal barrel, so i never purchased it, but i am so happy with this, and highly recommend it if you are looking for a quick, easy way to straighten you hair in the morning. Oh and it heats up super fast too! And has an auto shut off as well. Before purchasing this I had read a lot of the reviews. From those reviews my main concern was that it would get my hair all tangled. Not true. At all. I have extremely long hair, and the only way it got tangled using this was when I tried to use it like a regular brush or if my hair was tangled and unbrushed before starting. But if you use it the way the instructions say, no tangles, no problems. With all that being said, as I already mentioned I have extremely long hair. naturally wavy, after years of coloring and heat styling, it's a wavy frizzy mess. I was looking for something faster than a flat iron, and was hoping this would give a little more volume. The result.. It takes about the same amount of time as my flat iron. It does not add any volume. Major negative, it leaves the ends of my hair looking very frizzy. Overall I do really like the idea of this product, it's just not the best fit for me//my hair. I have had this for 6 months and I'm still not sure if I like it. I have lots of hair. My hair is fine and curly. So first I will say the pros: It works on my hair as well as a flat iron in half the time or even less. It is a very fast process. It is lighter to hold than a blow dryer and round brush and way less work than a flat iron. My hair is not frizzy from this and it doesn't leave my hair looking limp like a flat iron. But for whatever reason I just don't like this item. I am not really sure why. I don't like the color white with the purple. I just don't find it visually appealing. I think if I thought it was more attractive I would like it more. I also just worry about hair damage. I just don't know How much this is or isn't damaging my hair. Like with a flat iron I know how damaged my hair became with it constantly breaking off at the ends and never growing because of that…. but with this I'm assuming it damages it less. But I really just don't know in what ways it is damaging my hair because I'm still new to using it. I am slightly just concerned about the unknown damage and what frequent use will look like. My ends are very limp looking but that is probably from bleaching / past damage but I just don't know. It could be from pulling it through my hair. You do have to brush your hair really well before using it and sometimes my hair still gets stuck in it and it pulls. If your heat protectant makes your hair stick together it's going to be an issue. Your hair needs to be completely detangled before use. One time I used a decent amount of product before straightening and the product got stuck all in the "brush" pieces. The inside started smoking I think because of the excess product. It wasn't a big deal but I don't normally put product on before straightening and I do think it could be problematic for someone who puts a lot on. I DO recommend because it is the easiest way to straighten my hair and the results are better than other methods I've triedJ

Heated brushes are a genius invention. This particular heated brush has a special feature which I've been loving. It has a heated edge design which actually smooths your hair, keeping it frizz free, and also adds a bit of volume to the roots. It also works to easily flip your hair into which direction you'd like at the ends. Some other mentionable feature are its: -tufted nylon bristles -ion generator -3 heat settings It's super easy to use and I'd say the size is perfect which is important to me since my hair is a bit thicker and on the longer side – so I like that I can work with bigger sections and finish faster! I'll be getting so much use out of this heated brush because it's just so fast and effective! I'd say there's one drawback though as I've used another heated brush which works even on wet hair – this one says to use on Dry Hair so that's the only reason I took one star off. My review is this hot tool is two-fold. To start, this product is amazing and was gifted by T3 Micro. As you can tell from my before and after photos, this very clearly smoothed and straightened my crimped and half curled hair. It did so effortlessly, with only a few passes over each section of hair. The bristles allowed my hair to pass through the brush without getting caught or tangled (which often happens with my hair)! This tool is amazing. No doubt about it. If you have fine hair, or naturally straight -ish/wavy hair, I think this would work so well for you! My issue with the tool is when it comes to my specific hair type, which is naturally very curly, highlighted for many years, and frizzy. This did an amazing job battling the frizz, but this tool in my opinion, could never replace my flat iron. My hair needs the clam and pull motion to get every last bit of frizz out, vs the gentle brushing motion of this tool. I’m really not sure of an instance where I personally grab this tool instead of my flat iron or curling iron (which sometimes I use as both tools). That being said, this tool REALLY is amazing!! Hair Type: fine, straight, capable of looking nice but typically has a blasé attitude towards life. My hair doesn’t like to listen to me. I say, “clean yourself up, we have to go to work” and it says “no! I want to stay in bed all day” (TLDR: it’s difficult.) Enter this T3 edge brush, which promises to work on all hair types and manage frizz and add volume. GOOD, do it little brush! Immediately upon unboxing this brush, I was quite excited. I’ve used other heated brushes and found them heavy and bulky. This one is a much nicer fit in my hand and not too heavy. Usage is simple and straightforward. Plug in, press the button to your desired heat level (indicated by the number of lights: 1 light/press is lowest, 3 lights/presses is highest). Once the light stops blinking, the brush is heated and ready to be used – a remarkably short waiting period. This brush shines on second or third day hair (pun intended, I confess). This is where my hair has some sleep creases, some portions look oddly gross and yet the whole of my hair looks like ✨it has potential✨ I start by using a detangling brush-this is not an optional step for my hair type. I plug in the T3 brush, set it to the lowest setting, detangle with a separate brush, and by the time I’m done, the heated brush is ready to go. This brush glides through my hair nicely and doesn’t catch on any tangles – such a relief as most heated brushes DO catch (yes even after detangling). I am unsure if that is due to the nylon bristles, the design as a whole, or both – but I am SO grateful! I am not a pro so the best I can do is tilt my head and flick my wrist for volume. My hair is fine and this straightening brush from Remington worked so much better than others I have tried because of the brush design. The brush is deeper and laid out so the heat is on the base and it straightened all my hair, it held my fine hair in the brush well enough to be effective! It's a great design and shape! The straightener was easy to use and comfortable to hold. I love the features as well, it has three heat settings depending on your need, the light indicates the heat selection you are using. It has an auto shut off after 60 minutes, which is a great safety feature. I'm also impressed with the way my hair glides through the brush and the bristles do not snag or tangle my hair. Even more than other heated hair styling tools, your success with this one will depend on what type of hair you have and what your expectations are when styling your hair. My hair is neither curly nor straight, just mildly poofy and a bit frizzy – without heat, it falls into a weird unattractive pageboy type style so on days I don't style my hair with a heated tool, I pull it into a ponytail. Using the heated straightening brush styles my hair just barely enough that I can avoid a ponytail and wear my shoulder length hair down without being annoyed by it every time I pass a mirror. And that is enough for me to be happy with the brush and continue using it; it definitely fills a previously empty spot in my arsenal of heating styling tools as most days I'm not going to bother with a flat iron or heated rollers. I took off one star because the brush handle is awkward and my fingers land on the buttons too often; also it is a bit too heavy. Another negative – it drags though my hair less than smoothly. And it works best with slow passes through the hair which is fine until you get to the ends; it's hard to hold the ends of your hair in the brush. I have fine hair and use a flat iron every day because my hair is naturally wavy and I want it to be straight. Unfortunately, my hair is damaged due to my daily use. What I love about this Remington Pro Straightening Brush is the fact that it is gentle on my hair and helps control the frizz. Thanks to the ceramic bristles, this brush does not snag my hair. It glides right throw. Since I have fine hair, I am able to use this brush like a regular brush, but I would suggest if you have really thick or really wavy/curly hair, that you section your hair for best results. Even though my hair is thin, I still use between the medium and high heat settings and get wonderful results. My hair feels soft and silky. Another great feature is the auto shut off. Ok THIS!!! THIS IS AWESOME!! It’s 2:30 am where I live and I was like oh I never look nice for my morning zoom classes so I wanted to tidy up my hair ahead of time. Didn’t really feel like putting in the work to properly flat iron it though. So, I pulled this thing out of the box and gave it a go. And HOLY CROW I love it- 10 minutes later I have smooth, NATURAL looking straight hair. AMAZING. I find this is even easier to use than a flat iron for getting the ends of your hair to lie flat against your back and not flip outwards. Super fast, super easy to use, and super results! I was so nervous when I bought this and had done a ton of review diving and this seemed to be the best choice- and it really was. I have really fine, straight hair. But, I’ve been coloring it for years and it’s pretty damaged. So, it gets frizzy and I needed a straightener to fix that. But, all that heat was doing more damage to my hair. I tried a very expensive heated brush by another company, but it got so tangled in my hair that I couldn’t use it. All it did was rip my hair out. This one, goes right through even when I have tangles. And, I can get close to the scalp without getting burned. I love it! I love the heated smoothing brush! I was skeptical that this would work on my wavy frizzy blonde shoulder length hair but it does wonders! I like that it straightens my hair with body not poker straight like with a flat iron! Instead of just smoothing down with the brush on my layered hair, I also section my layers & lift up underneath & down for more volume! I am pleasantly surprised how well this works on my curly/wavy hair! I love that it has many heat settings . I adjust the heat up for my bottom wavier layers. Then lower the heat on the top thinner & not as wavy hair! I do like to use the light moraccanoil before & after I style! I also love the smoothing shampoo & conditioner. I love my new cordless hot brush. I blow dry my hair then use the hot brush to smooth my hair from root to tip. Makes my hair smooth and shiny with plenty of bounce and fullness. The ceramic mini plates have negative ions that will control the fizz, but now that the summer is over I don’t worry about the frizz aspect of my hair so much. I am looking forward to not having to worry about it as the weather changes and I have my new hot brush though. I love the cordless feature so much!!! I have super thick hair and it takes me forever to straighten it, so I don’t do it often. I was skeptical to use this product thinking it wouldn’t work, but I couldn’t be more wrong!! The cordless brush is convenient; I can use it while sitting mindlessly. It doesn’t burn my hair; the heated portion is towards the inner side of the brush instead of the outter bristles making it safe to touch. It works SO well in straightening hair. My hair is thick and takes a chunk of time to blow-dry and straighten with a flat iron. So I was super excited for this full-sized hot brush. I dry my hair to about 80% complete and then complete it with the hot brush. For me, the only drawback has been the initial weight of the brush. But, the cordless aspect AND the results far exceed the weight issue. I love the results! Once straightened, my hair looks shiny and is so smooth. As someone who has curly and thick hair, straightening it is the hardest part of getting ready even if I dried it with my blow drier before and it isn't as curly as it normally is. I bought this today when it caught my eye as I was leaving. I have been curious about these kinds of straighteners ever since that first video went viral. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. Two or three passes done correctly and done! You do have to section your hair especially if it's thick but it leaves your hair much nicer than if you used a regular flat iron. Doesn't pull out that much hair, maybe three or four strands here or there, nothing you wouldn't lose with a flat iron. Doesn't take that long to heat up but follow the instructions for your hair type. All around a great product if you count in that it does the same thing those $80 or $90 brush straighteners do for a lower price. As with anything, following the instructions is key. Not recommend for oily hair and you CANNOT use any type of heat protector or any products (heat safe or not) in your hair with ANY of these straightening brushes on the current market. Trust me, I've tried all from the cheap brands to the expensive and they all work GREAT and last awhile when you DON'T add products or have very oily hair because they leave a residue that is very hard if not impossible to fully clean off these things! Even if it looks clean it's still there! its a problem because then after use 2,3,4 etc times it smells, burns and causes it to overheat and damage your hair. The whole point of this is to do little to no damage to your hair but still have similar results that of a flat iron. It also doesn't get down to the roots of curly/very curly hair or thick. Hair tools are one key thing when trying to grow or manage your hair, the wrong tools can hinder most of the progress you are seeking to make. Now if you have soft silky hair, hair management is so easy peasy for you. Great for you, we love you too but we with thick or coarse hair want at the very least to have worthy tools for our battle with the hair. Being black, I have very thick tight;y curled hair, so straightening it takes hours. The thought of just running a brush through my hair and having it all straightened is so drool worthy. The only down side is the limit of its temp setting, if it could go higher, meaning faster straightening for really curly hair. It took some time but it did straighten my hair, without me spending back breaking hours, sectioning and straightening my hair. All it took was slow even brush strokes, through my mane and little by little I saw it straightening my tightly curled hair. Another flaw for me is in its design, that being the position of the control buttons. The buttons being by the side on the grip handle, means that every time you apply pressure to drag the brush through thick hair your fingers will be hitting the controls. messing with the temp settings. With that being said this is worth the buy. This brush has been a worthy addition to my arsenal, its design and function means better control over the mane. Trust me taming the 'Fro' is no easy task and any brush that can tangle with mine and not limp out a broken sordid mess is worth a mention. My hair is "rebel" and I have a looot, usually with a normal hair dryer it will take me around 45-50 min, with this brush it took me around 25-30 min, depends how you want the final result. It has 3 different levels of heat, very handy. My hair look super shinny and is soft after using this item. I'm very pleased with it and will definitely recommend it.Alexandra N
