As a custodian with 25-years of experience and having used virtually every vacuum on the market, I can say without reservation that the Cinetic Dyson Big Ball Animal 2 is the best vacuum ever produced. I'm sad to hear that Dyson is phasing out corded vacuums in favor of their stick vacuum V-series. It's just my opinion, but the Big Ball beats the new powerful V-11 by a mile on wall to wall carpeting. Yes, the Dyson V-11 can go where the Big Ball struggles under tough spots, such as dining room tables, beds and other furniture, since it doesn't lay flat. However, the ball makes the vacuum extremely maneuverable and versatile. Nevertheless, the Big Ball features an extremely long hose, which allows you to do an entire flight of stairs, while the machine remains at the bottom. The hose, as well as a plethora of attachments will allow you to get under the tough spots mentioned above. Although the Big Ball is heavy, I would expect it to be considering the powerful motor and sturdy assembly. Removing and reconnecting the dirt canister is incredibly easy, yet strong enough to use as a carry handle. Ultimately, it's the cleaning performance that makes this vacuum remarkable and rise to the top of all vacuums on the market today. It cleans with one pass without leaving a trace of dirt or debris. It also cleans right up to the edge of a wall, which most other vacuums fail to accomplish. Since they are being phased out, closeout deals can be found on new machines (not refurb) for $290 to $350. This is my second Dyson purchase. I was somewhat impressed with the first one I bought, the Animal model in purple, but this one is not as good. I would like it better if: 1. It were lighter. This model has a larger ball making it heavy and sometimes difficult to maneuver. 2. It were not so hot. Again, possibly because the ball is bigger but it gives off so much heat that it quickly heats up a room, great in the winter, not so great in the summer 3. The wheels locked. When moving around the house or bringing the vacuum back to where I store it, the bracket that supports the wheels constantly wants to return to 'vacuum mode' at a 45 degree angle rather than remain in the upright position. 4. It actually PICKED UP PET HAIR. I consider myself to be a meticulous housekeeper and with 4 cats I really have no choice. However, I'm always so frustrated when I shampoo my carpets IMMEDIATELY after using this Dyson only to see how much pet hair the carpet cleaning machine has picked up that the Dyson has MISSED. I've had 5 different Dyson vacs – a stick vac; a handheld, an old pre-ball vacuum, and two of the DC25s and I've always been happy with them – until now.. I've also owned many others: Kenmore canister, Hoover upright, Kirby, Bissell, Eureka… (okay – I'm old, and I have 2 homes so I've had many vacuums over the years) I've never had one I disliked more than the Cinetic. 1) it doesn't work on area rugs. It pulls up the big stiff 10'x12' area rug and sticks to that spot like a suction cup on glass. I have to shut it off to move it. I end up using the wand and crevice tool to vacuum the whole room – grumbling and fuming the whole time. I even ordered a spare attachment but that didn't help. I'm ready to siht-can this vacuum and buy a $54 Bissell from Walmart. I wish I had returned it as soon as I got it instead of trying to make it work. 2) Just bumping it causes it to "recline" so it doesn't stand up. It's all loosey goosey. 3) The dustbin clogs easily. I need to take apart the collection bin every time I empty it. Not a good vacuum if you have pets. I liked using my new vacuum and had no problem with it being bagless, but the extension cord would keep rewinding once the motor got warm. I was insulted when sent a email from Prolux that I needed to clean the canister to get optimized performance and the machine was overheating because I wasn't keeping the canister cleaned out. Oh, but I was! I was caring for the vacuum after reading all the instructions for best use and the canister wasn't even full but I'd clean it out before putting it away…then there was no suction (even with a newly cleaned canister). We took the hose off and was finding that the arc of the handle was gathering dirt and not carrying it out. Too much hassle so I got a refund.Bette W.

Pros: went together quite easily (I did read the manual) So far it has great suction, and easy to clean. Picks up pet hair really well, there was a lot of fine dust in the dust/dirt container when I emptied it out, so that is a good thing. Three cats and 2 labs in my house, and they are all inside/outside critters. The power head works well. I had read that people have issues with it tipping over. Didn't happen to me, and moves around easily. All the parts fit right into place, no gaps, nothing hard to pull apart. I really like that it is bagless. Cons; The box was quite broken up when it arrived, guess that is the delivery peoples fault. There were two broken pieces, one being the on board tool caddy for storage of the attachments (I don't believe that could have happened in shipping), one other broken piece of plastic, that came from somewhere, still trying to figure out what it goes to. The tank itself has a big dent in it ( it being plastic guess it's a manufacturing issue). The long floor attachment came with a long flat rubber insert for something (the schematics don't show where it goes). The crevice tool is quite puny. I had just assumed (my fault) that the power head would have a height adjustment. I had been using a Kenmore Canister for 20 years. So in order to vacuum carpet runners (7 feet long) I have to put a chair on the end or have one of the dogs sit on it, so it doesn't get sucked up. I guess that is a good thing that it has such good suction, better more than less. So far so good, I have not found the noise level that loud, my Kenmore was a lot louder. I have not used the furniture/stair attachment so won't comment on it. It does generate quite a bit of static when in use I guess a little shock now and then isn't that big of a deal. I did not rate the Durability or value for the money, because I don't have a crystal ball saying how long this vacuum will last. During the pandemic you can't always get what you want. I wanted to go to a store and buy a vacuum that I could see, feel and maybe even hear before I bought it. I'm a little fussy. Quiet is very important to me. It quickly became apparent that my only choice was buying online. I'm not exactly sure how I ended up on Prolux's site but I'm so glad I did. There was the vacuum I wanted: canister, quiet, lightweight, bagless, reasonably priced, well reviewed and in stock. An unbelievable sight after sitting at my computer for hours. I like that this vacuum is lightweight and I can clean in tight spots easier than a regular upright vacuum. It does clean floors and carpeted areas well but is hard to push on carpet.mallshop

When my trusty old Kenmore canister vacuum died I was bummed. It had worked well for years, and canister vacuums are hard to find. (I don't know why people prefer uprights when canisters are so much more versatile!) I took a chance on this model and am very glad I did. It works fine. Plenty of suction. Longer hose and power cord than my previous model. (comes with attachments, too) Rolls around very smoothly. And I don't have to put in earplugs when I use it, like my old model! Best Canister Vacuum on the market. I have purchased several portable canister vacuums and this Oreck is the best! I purchased this for my son who is in construction so he can clean up messes for his customers when he finishes his jobs. He says the vac is so powerful it has picked up wood splinters, sheet rock crumbles, pebbles, broken glass – anything mess that is left over from a construction job. I use it all around the house and in my car. Forget those car vacuums that don't pick up anything. This canister vacuum will even pick up all dog hairs left by my dogs when I take them for rides in my car. And ever try to get dog hair off your couch? I have owned 3 Oreck sweepers for 25+ years. Received my first canister sweeper as a freebie when I purchased my first upright. I loved it for cleaning cars, stairs, windows and around the baseboards in our home. It was light weight but very durable. It was my go-to sweeper for small and quick jobs. The only complaints I have are the red cord… really? why red? and the flexible hose is not long enough for most chores. I had another hose from an older sweeper, my husband had to modify the older hose but now I am much happier with the longer, more flexible hose.Kathy

I have had the old version of the canister and loved it. I decided to give that one to my father and buy this. It is difficult to use.1. the hose always pulls against you – have tried to stretch it out but it doesn't work.2. The friction method of attaching the extension wand does not work as the weight of the wand is too heavy. I kept having to put it back on as it slides off and eventually the end of the wand cracked and needed to be taped.3. The longer cord is great but is too heavy for the weight of the canister itself.4. The strap broke within a month so can't hang it over my shoulder > the little plastic that attaches it – is not strong enough.5. First of all, this vacuum arrived on or ahead of schedule and was packaged very well. I was looking for a lighter, smaller canister vac to replace a Kenmore which I was unable to get repaired after 12 years of good service. I was skittish about purchasing something other than a Kenmore, a brand I have used for appliance purchases for many years, but now they are going out of business. I decided this was the time for a smaller vacuum as I frequently use it upstairs and down. I really wanted to see the vac prior to purchase, but due to Covid and many stores not carrying canisters, I had no choice but to buy online. I was able to get the best price, compared to other retailers, by using my BB&B coupons and purchased the vac as well as the supply of bags and filters. I've had the vac for four months and love it! The suction is awesome, it is lightweight and easy to handle and carry up and down stairs – perfect for my situation. I just changed the bag today for the first time and it was very easy. I do wish the cord were just a bit longer and the control was in the handle, instead of on the vac, but these are not major issues for me. My wife and I have had upright vacuums for the last 20 years and were having to replace them every 2-3 years. When it came time to yet again replace an upright because the plastic brush head broke, we looked into the Mieie canister line. Since we had only a couple of rugs , no carpets and mostly hardwood floors, we went with the Classic C1 Turbo Team. It is super quiet and powerful and it's nice to be able to dial down the power, in fact we have never used it on full power. It's also handy to have suction control on the straight wand part, this keeps the Turbo head from sticking on a super low Turkish type rug. Our only regret is not buying a Miele sooner and as an added perk, our dog doesn't bark at the canister like she did the uprights and is tolerating the low noise quite fine.Ron

I purchased this vacuum after reading hundreds of reviews, videos and questions to those I know that own one. I am in LOVE with it! It is one of the quietest vacuums I've ever owned! I have hardwood, area rugs and medium pile carpet in a couple rooms. It made the floors throughout the house pristinely clean! I literally vacuumed the kitchen (vinyl flooring). No more brooms and dust pans for me! My back is very thankful! I didn't get the model that is $100 less because of the carpets and I'm glad I did. I have a hardwood floor attachment and the turbo that I use on my carpets. This is cleaning HEAVEN! It makes things just SO much easier. The extending tube is great to grab any dust on the walls/ceiling and those little cobwebs that magically appear every darned spring! I have a dog who sheds and it got his hair up in the corners and carpet wonderfully! I know this isn't the pet grade one but I plan to upgrade the filter or bag or whatever because it picks up my boy's hair just fine! My sister has one and she uses hers to clean up crumbs and dry spills (salt, seasonings, whatever) from her counters and table! She loves not having the soggy mess to clean with a cloth! This is to replace my first upright vacuum (a Dyson). I just never got used to it having decades of canister vacuum experience. The upright had good power and did floors very nicely but I had issues with the pull out extension. I considered other bagless vacuums but because I like the Dyson upright performance I opted to get this new CY18 canister and it is impressive. It has lots of suction and is one of the quietest vacuums I have owned. I can use the tools directly attached to the flexible hose handle which is what I wanted and it follows like a well mannered dog on a leash unlike my last canister was just the opposite and fought me every inch of the way. First, I should say that I am the mother of four fur babies, 2 cats and 2 big dogs. Then, when my boyfriend stays over on the weekends, he adds his 2 more dogs (one big and one small) to the mix. Between the 6 animals and my long hair, you can imagine how much hair is on my floors at any given time. For my entire life, growing up at home and after I moved out, I have always used a shop vac with a pool hose and a long metal pole with a brush head; which my dad created. We always hated the awkwardness of upright vacuums and the spinning heads just never worked on hard floors. After buying shop vacs every few years, because they are cheap and the motor blows, I decided to try the Dyson Cinetic Animal Canister. Thankfully, Dyson was offering $100 off; then with my BB&B coupon and cashback credit card bonuses, I ended up getting this thing for the same price as a normal vacuum costs. After one use, I completely fell in love with this machine! There are some flaws, but the good outweighs the bad in my book. Here are a list of pros and cons that I have encountered while using this machine over the past few months. Pros: • Whole-machine HEPA filtration and Certified asthma & allergy friendly! Woo no smells from the expelled air! My boyfriend really appreciates this aspect! He has horrible allergies, especially because of the cats. After purchasing this vacuum, he can breathe so much better at my house! • No filters to wash or buy! • Holy suction Batman! This thing is crazy powerful. • Suction release trigger for when it eats something it shouldn’t, like curtains. • Tangle free turbine tool worked so well that my boyfriend wanted to vacuum the cats with it! Don’t worry, I didn’t let him. This think works wonders on the carpeted cat-stle (what I call the cat castle or cat tree). • Long wand for hard to reach places. • Everything detaches so easily and the tools fit anywhere on the hose or wand. This makes it so simple to go from top to bottom, vacuuming everything in the room. I can do the ceilings, vents, fans, curtains, windows, base boards and floors! • 21.3 ft power cord and automatic rewind…amazing. • Light weight (because you are only having to lift the wand and attachments, not the entire machine. • Can get under furniture and those hard to reach places…like the ceiling! Good luck trying to get your upright vacuum on the ceiling….or the fans. • I don’t have carpet, and I don’t know who in their right mind would have carpet with animals, but the vacuum worked just fine on my low pile rugs. • Some people say that this thing is awkward to pull around because it is a canister. While that is probably true for someone who typically uses an upright, it is way better than the shop vacs that I have had. I don’t find this thing awkward at all, but I am use to pulling behind a canister. Cons: • Canister waaaaaay to small. To give you an idea, I vacuumed my 1400sq ft home, with one weeks worth of hair and needed to empty the bin 5 times. I wish it was bigger and held more. To combat this, I take my big janitor mop (the ones they use in schools), push it around the house for literally a minute. Then I vacuum. This allows me to pick up the hair and big debris (because my dogs have these big plastic bones that they chew) all at once so that I only have to empty the vacuum once. My boyfriend thinks that a vacuum that is so expensive should require no prep work, but I honestly did this with my shop vac too. It makes vacuuming so much easier and quicker. • Emptying the bin is not as simple as they make you believe. Yes, you push the button, but the door swings down and hangs in the way. The dirt gets all over the hanging door. Then you have to use the provided tool to unstick the hair from the sides of the canister, while the door flaps in your way. The instructions say to minimize dust/allergen contact, encase the bin tightly in a plastic bag. Well this doesn’t work because the above happens. I found the easiest way to empty the bin is to go outside to my large garbage can. • The combination tool is a horrible design. Instead of being two pieces, the small brush slides up and down on the thin wand. I wish the small brush was detachable, because when I use the thin wand to get in cracks (like between the couch cushions), the brush is in the way and the bristles get destroyed. • The wheels on the bottom of the canister roll ok, but for the ridiculous price of the machine, they suck. They should have used the same material as you would find on rollerblade wheels. • Instead of being power controlled, the rotating head rotates due to the suction. I wish there was a way to lock the head in place so that it does not rotate. It sucks up cat litter with no problem, but sometimes, it flings a few pieces out. I typically just detach the head and just use the suction. I think I might buy the alternate head that doesn’t spin. • I found the attachment storage to be random and awkward. Ok I broke down and purchased a Dyson after reading many positive reviews but to be honest this vacuum has not won me over in the last 9 months. The suction is adequate but I am not impressed with the turbo brush on carpets. I have hardwood floors with area rugs in most rooms and the articulating hard floor tool is excellent and mandatory for cleaning in my estimation. The cord is a good length and the tools are well designed and work well. I have to empty the bin once or twice while cleaning 1400 sq. foot home. I have come to dislike emptying the bin. The dirt and dust seems to cling to the bin like there is an electrostatic charge on the plastic and I have to use a paintbrush to get it moderately clean or wash it the sink to get it really clean. After a lifetime of using a bagged vacuum where you just change a bag I fear this bag-less vacuum is just not my cup of tea. I only wished I brought this back in the return timeframe and selected another brand/machine!Telrandy

I happened to have had this very same canister, only gray, years ago. It was also stolen from me along w/the upright. The gal that stole this also gave it back after destroying this item. Shame some people have sticky fingers & are malicious…they love to be mean. Anyways when I got my brother the swivel upright I got myself my new canister. Love it dearly…would not want anything but this…it's light weight, can place on your shoulder like a hand bag, move around the room freely & have my other attachments at finger tips.Frances

This was chosen by our cleaning lady. We figured as the main user and cleaning expert we'd let her pick what she wanted. She went right to the Oreck. She's still using it 12 years later. We sometimes use it ourselves for quick pick-ups. I look at it and it appears in the same condition as when new, a dozen years ago. I cannot rate this product yet! I expect it to be as great or better than my last one, but as yet I have not had a chance to use it! I do have a maid, but only ever 6 weeks! I have had too many things come up to use it! I expect it to be wonderful, as my last one was great for around 20 years! I bought this vacuum to replace my old Shark. This one is more comfortable to use due to its long hose and 4-point swivel casters. Very easy to reach any spot under furniture. My house is a mixture of carpet, hard floors, and large rugs, and I was worried that it would be problematic to clean everything properly. But the suction is fantastic; I can use different settings of cleaning power to quickly clean the pet hair and dirt throughout the house. It's a bit heavy and problematic for the stairs, but due to the long hose, the problem can be resolved fast. The container is very easy to empty. Due to a large 11 m cleaning radius, you can clean large rooms easily. The short hairs that are usually embedded in fabrics are easily removed. Very impressed by the amount of fine dust captured. Also, it is very easy to store, and the on-board storage is great for keeping the dusting brush and upholstery, crevice, and flexible nozzles all in one place and within easy reach. I highly recommend this vacuum, it's very much worth its price tag.Laura

I am allergic to animal hair and our kids have a cat so i am very sensitive to an effective cleaning. The suction on this thing is incredible although the noise isn't that loud. It's not light, but probably no heavier than other similar sized cylinder vacuums and for the most part you won't need to carry it as it's on wheels, it's just stairs where you might need to. I can reach half way up my stairs just with the main pipe and half way down. You can tell it's superb quality and does the job. It is super easy to put together and very easy to empty, with a clear instruction booklet. It's also bagless and fascinating to see what you collect in the container. It uses a single cyclone system which seems to be far more effective than others. It has a great self clean mode to regularly clean out the dust filter too and keep the suction strong so every so often you're meant to take that part out and give it a rinse. With Miele you suspect a certain level of quality but in a saturated market it's still sometimes difficult to justify the cost of an item like this when others are supposed to be the best ones on the market. You soon realise the CX1 is worth every penny once you open the box. Every part of the vacuum cleaner design is well considered, every plastic piece has a quality feel and the fit and finish is excellent and the number of tools packaged meet all your needs. In use it's quiet compared to others and the suction is incredibly powerful and the vacuum unit stable – especially compared with a "drunk" Henry that seems to want to cling to everything and topple over. You can see the carpets lift as you move across them with the easy to hold hose and even just after using a Dyson or the Henry in the same space it still picks up a lot of dust that has been left by the others. My only criticism is that when doing a fantastic job of picking up long hair this quickly tangles around the brush and isn't the easiest to remove without tools / cutting. All in all a great product that's incredibly good at what it's designed to do.Michael

Let me start this review by saying that I have purchased and used a lot of vacuums in my day. For the last couple of years I’ve been using the Shark Vertex Powered lift away. I love that machine, but still missed having a canister. I had been seeing the Shark Canister Pet vacuum advertised on line and a couple days ago decided to purchase, and I’m so glad I did. The first thing I noticed when trying it out for the first time was how powerful it is. The suction power is unbelievable. I also love that it has 3 speeds of suction power. The beater brush has two speeds. Low and high. High is recommended for carpet while low is recommended for hardwood floors. The power head has fins mixed with bristles and does an excellent job at removing dust and dirt from floors. My favorite thing about this vacuum is how lightweight it is. I literally can pick the canister up by its handle with one finger. The controls for this vacuum are conveniently located on the handle. This particular canister vacuum comes with two attachments. A decent sized crevice tool and a nice upholstery tool. The power head comes with the unit as well. I tried my attachments from my vertex lift away and they fit and work with the canister! The canister glides on 4 caster wheels and moves great. It also has a 25 ft retractable cord. The Shark Canister Pet is a high quality vacuum that’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. I give this vacuum an A+! In my humble opinion Shark makes the best household vacuums on the market today! I truly love all three of my Shark vacuums, and wouldn’t want any other vacuum! This is my first canister vacuum. I can't say how it compares to other canisters but it's an amazing vacuum. This vacuum has incredible suction. Far better suction than any other vacuum I have owned. I am actually quite shocked at how much this can pick up. I have cats so I needed a good vacuum to pick up all of the hair in my home. It has easy to use buttons on the handle for changing the suction level or cleaning modes. The MultiFLEX is a great addition and allows for easy cleaning under furniture. The no hair wrap brushroll is a lifesaver! I hated having to cut hair from the roller on my other vacuums. I get so much hair caught on those and this one never gets hair stuck on it. It's easy to empty and holds more than my other vacuums so I can make less trips to empty it. The wand is extremely long and can reach further than any other wand I have used, making it great for getting up high near ceilings. The attachments work well for crevices and removing pet hair from furniture. There are super bright LED lights so I can see if I am missing anything while I vacuum. This can be used with the canister wheeled on the ground or carried. It is lightweight and easy to carry up stairs or around furniture. The wheels work well to pull across the floor as well. It isn't as maneuverable as a standard upright and works best in open spaces unless the canister is being carried. It's just what comes with using a canister compared to an upright. I have been using this shark bagless pet pro canister vacuum for some time now. With 3 pets who shed nonstop I'm always in the market for the greatest and newest vacuums available to help me keep the hair down and the allergies away. The vacuum has a great section not just using the hand tools but also in the floor roller itself. As someone with long hair one of my greatest battles is trying to get mine off the roller using my old vacuums didn't matter style or brand. This bagless canister vacuum also comes equipped with self cleaning paddles leaving me more time to get other things accomplished. Let's just say I was astonished at how much was pulled from my rugs when I regularly vacuum weekly sometimes 2 to 3 times. One of the better features that I've seen on it that's not mentioned is it actually runs more quiet than other vacuums I have used. The hand tools are great the only thing that I seem to have an issue with is the awkward positioning of the tubing maybe if it was a bit thinner a bit longer it would be easier but sometimes when you're walking around it'll flip the vacuum itself and turn itself off because it has 2 different ways to power it on and off. I do appreciate the actual hand tool or hand grip having its own power button and also button and also being able to choose from the hand tool whether it's hardwood floors or carpeting forces having to use a foot to change the setting. My husband and I are tall people, I absolutely love the fact that this canister vacuum has a long nozzle where I don't feel like I'm leaning over too much to vacuum the floor. It's very quiet, you can still have a conversation with it running. The turbo suction is no joke, be careful it'll eat your rug easily, learned there are different settings for the suction amount! Love that the floor head is much larger than the other leading brands. I also have allergies, so this HEPA filtration system is a a bonus to help keep our inside air clean. My only suggestion for future models is to have an option for on/off switch to be on the handle too. You always have to use the foot switch for operation, for older folks it's a long of bending down for operation. Overall so glad we invested the money to get this great vacuum!Faith D

Pros: This is a great vacuum cleaner, I needed a replacement for my previous Vax cleaner – for hoovering out the garage and our cars. The VAX was great but after seven years it was falling apart. I have previously purchased some cheaper cyclone type hoovers which turned out to be useless. So I went for a Miele this time even though it is a bagged type vacuum cleaner, decision based on the quality of the brand and that Curry’s PC World were doing a really cheap deal on this model. It’s very powerful on maximum setting and it does a great cleaning job on the cars. The three wheels on the bottom make moving the vacuum cleaner around the garage easy. The cable return spring is really powerful, far better than any other hoover I’ve had. This cleaner is an all round high quality item. Cons: It’s a fantastic quality hoover and really powerful, however I find that the hose quite often can hit the on off button and that is enough to switch the device off. The button needs to be a little bit stiffer in operation I think.Colin

The C3 Calima is a wonderful canister vacuum by Miele. I have used and owned many canisters from the German manufacturer, both in Germany and here in the US. The only disappointment was one made in the US who lasted only 3 years, as I had to replace the motor unit. Since then I made sure that I bought only vacuums made in Germany, or those that used German made parts. I bought the last vacuum 7 years ago, and it is still in top notch condition. I bought the Calima for a new vacation home. While I do not know, of course, much about the longtime reliability of the Calima, it performs superbly sofar.roger

Love this vacuum for my wood floors. I keep this one upstairs. It's compact, light and fits inside a small hall closet.It rolls safely and easily on the wood. The turbo brush works great on throw rugs. The Parquet twister brush is the best, it goes under the bed and other furniture like a breeze. I bought the extra furniture brush that I use on drapes, shades etc. The dust brush that came with it is too small to do much with it. This other brush was expensive, but does the trick. The cleaning radius the cord allows is great, and the retractable cord works very smoothly. I really love this vacuum.Flora

I bought this vacuum to replace my old Shark. This one is more comfortable to use due to its long hose and 4-point swivel casters. Very easy to reach any spot under furniture. My house is a mixture of carpet, hard floors, and large rugs, and I was worried that it would be problematic to clean everything properly. But the suction is fantastic; I can use different settings of cleaning power to quickly clean the pet hair and dirt throughout the house. It's a bit heavy and problematic for the stairs, but due to the long hose, the problem can be resolved fast. The container is very easy to empty. Due to a large 11 m cleaning radius, you can clean large rooms easily. The short hairs that are usually embedded in fabrics are easily removed. Very impressed by the amount of fine dust captured. Also, it is very easy to store, and the on-board storage is great for keeping the dusting brush and upholstery, crevice, and flexible nozzles all in one place and within easy reach. I highly recommend this vacuum, it's very much worth its price tag.Laura

I am allergic to animal hair and our kids have a cat so i am very sensitive to an effective cleaning. The suction on this thing is incredible although the noise isn't that loud. It's not light, but probably no heavier than other similar sized cylinder vacuums and for the most part you won't need to carry it as it's on wheels, it's just stairs where you might need to. I can reach half way up my stairs just with the main pipe and half way down. You can tell it's superb quality and does the job. It is super easy to put together and very easy to empty, with a clear instruction booklet. It's also bagless and fascinating to see what you collect in the container. It uses a single cyclone system which seems to be far more effective than others. It has a great self clean mode to regularly clean out the dust filter too and keep the suction strong so every so often you're meant to take that part out and give it a rinse. My rhinitis is very thankful to the power of this vacuum.Gabo

With Miele you suspect a certain level of quality but in a saturated market it's still sometimes difficult to justify the cost of an item like this when others are supposed to be the best ones on the market. You soon realise the CX1 is worth every penny once you open the box. Every part of the vacuum cleaner design is well considered, every plastic piece has a quality feel and the fit and finish is excellent and the number of tools packaged meet all your needs. In use it's quiet compared to others and the suction is incredibly powerful and the vacuum unit stable – especially compared with a "drunk" Henry that seems to want to cling to everything and topple over. You can see the carpets lift as you move across them with the easy to hold hose and even just after using a Dyson or the Henry in the same space it still picks up a lot of dust that has been left by the others. My only criticism is that when doing a fantastic job of picking up long hair this quickly tangles around the brush and isn't the easiest to remove without tools / cutting. All in all a great product that's incredibly good at what it's designed to do.Michael

Got this because my wife loves purple. No greater reason to buy a vacuum cleaner than the color. It works great on non-carpeted floors but is impossible to move on carpet. Good thing it's for a home without carpet. Everything works fine except the hose falls apart. You are vacuuming away and suddenly the head is on the floor and you are pushing an incomplete hose. I fixed that with a piece of masking tape around the top of the head piece. Shouldn't have to gerry rig a new vacuum in my opinion.No Body You Know!

I always used Bissell canisters for the easy conversion and parts sharing between machines(since we use them a lot). As Bissells age, the motors naturally get a bit less efficient, and that's expected. The Bissell Zing was a huge mistake. I had to duct tape all of the extension hose connections just to use it at all. Now I can't use it for small crevice jobs unless I rip it all off and retape constantly. It needs a click and lock function on the extension adaptors. It may not be as much of an issue as it ages and it can't lift a cotton ball, but new, it has suction that rips the plain plastic extensions that attach the heads, off onto the floor. I'm going to go with a more pricey manufacturer now. This Green thing is going in the garbage. I had a feeling the price was too good to be true. If you have a roll of duct tape and never plan on using the extensions and only use floor head, or never plan to use extensions and floor head, it will be fine for you and has great suction for that. If you need to ever use the floor features, it may be irritating and require taping. OH LOOK, MADE IN CHINA. Now everything makes sense.Brandy Lewis

I love the Bissell Zing. For the money it works very well. My only complaints are that it is all plastic. While it makes the vacuum light, its durability is questionable. Also the hose has no way of staying on to the floor tool. You push it on and hope for the best. I can see this being a problem in time and also a frustration. One other thing, the electric cord is very short. For the cost in todays world it is very good but you barley get what you pay for these days! My expectations aren't very high! I wish there was a company that would take pride in the fact that they give the consumer a well made product, at a fair cost, that would last longer then a year. I know, by doing this you wouldn't make huge profits but you would still make healthy profits and loyal customers! It would also help the environment with keeping waste at a minimum! This canister vacuum is amazing! I went back to the old school type vacuum I remember my Mom using when I was a child. This thing is unstoppable. I use it for ceiling fans, hard wood floors, my car, to vacuum dust up off trim. I love how flexible it is and that it can get under couches, tables, and other low items. I love the compact size and light weight. Easy to move around and makes vacuuming the stairs so much easier than my previous upright. Only drawback is there's not a way to hang all the attachments to the unit so they're always with me (although maybe there is and I haven't figured it out). Good suction power and i love the ability to decrease the power while vacuuming my runner rugs so they don't get sucked up.Ottoman

I bought the Eureka Mighty Mite specifically because it was the cheapest vacuum cleaner with a bag that I could find. As such, it works. It is very cheaply made. The two straight sections that connect to the floor sweeper often come apart. The ring that increases or reduces suction on one of those sections is really hostile to fingers. Watch out. It took a bite out of the palm side of one of my fingers! But, the vacuum does function. If you need a cheap vacuum cleaner with a bag, it’s a very basic choice.Katherine

Warning! This is copied and pasted right off the Walmart description: "The Eureka Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum is versatile – while it does well on carpets or rugs, it is ideal for vacuuming bare floors, wood floors and tiles." When I put it together and started to vacuum, I realized you can't push the floor tool on carpet; all you can do is drag it toward you. There are no rollers on it. I called the customer service helpline and told them, and they said it wasn't meant for rugs, only bare floors. I read them the description above that said it does well on carpets or rugs, and on page 6 of the owner's guide it gave instructions for both bare floors and rugs. Then she said it was only for flat rugs. I had tried it on both flat rugs and one with medium pile. It was only slightly workable on the flat rugs. I was extremely disappointed. It has strong suction, so if all you have is bare floors, it would be okay. But don't buy it if you have any carpet at all.Melanie

I had hoped there would be a brush on the floor attachment and not just plastic. I was happy to find some sort of velcro strip that picks up rug stuff or bare floor dust balls. This was not mentioned in the list of the product. Otherwise, the suction was great, but had to keep the slide open, for not the maximum suction, as it was too strong! Also, not mentioned was the receiving of 2 bags, one inside and one separate to use. I still ordered 3 more separately as the local stores did not carry them. As a senior, I don't create lots of dust in my 700 sq.ft. apartment. Now to start on the brush attachment and do some fine dusting! We have two dogs and a cat. I chose a Miele because of rave reviews from others. I purchased it in Oct 2019. Initially, I was pleased with the vacuum. Maybe not WOWed, but I was happy with it. HOWEVER, over time, despite changing filters and bags often, it seemed to lose it's sucking power. Also, the foot button to change the height of the vacuum became difficult to operate. It would stick or not move until I pressed it multiple times. I could deal with that. BUT, today it stopped working entirely – for no reason. And, the cord retracting mechanism stopped working. It is out of warranty so I took it to the local repair person. He said the cord part alone is close to 150.00 for the part – not including labor. And, getting the cord to work will not get the vacuum to work. So, I am to expect the possibility of another hundred (at least) for that. Ultimately, it will cost almost half of what I paid for the vacuum to repair it. And, it has not even been two years. I am incredibly disappointed. I would not recommend this brand to anyone.Carrie

I had purchase a shark vacuum about 2 years ago. I had hardly used it probably no more than 6 or 7 times. the lase i used it the motor sounded very loud and it hesitated a couple times and i started to smell something burning. Turned it off, the vacuum was getting very hot and that's where the burning smell was coming from, the motor was burning out. I had done nothing to it or misused it, it was almost in mint condition and very gently used. I contacted shark and they passed me around from customer service to customer service department, i was actually shocked and very disappointed and almost gave up. I called the store (Burbank CA) where i had purchased it from and spoke to manager. A wonderful person listened to my issue and told me to bring it back to get my money refunded. This is almost 2 years old now. I was very happy and took it back the same day. I spoke to different people at the store and they all were excellent and were expecting my back with this vacuum. I needed a vacuum so i got this little gem and boy do i love it. Its compact, lovely quality, does carpets, blinds, shelves you name it. I even purchase the micro cleaning kit and its fantastic for electronics. I cant say enough good things about this vacuum. the only small issues for some folks might be that the bags are a little on the small side, but for me its working out great. If you are in the market for a vacuum, and if you like canister vacuums with bags (i hate bag-less ones what a mess) then you will love this. The best in the industry. This vacuum is the worst vacuum I have ever used. I had the Dyson upright and loved it, but when it was time to replace it we decided to try the canister, because we believed it would be more convenient. For starters, this vacuum does not have a power head, it is a suction head and so if the vacuum loses the slightest amount of suction the brush does not rotate. The hole which connects the floor attachment to the hose is slightly smaller than a marble so it constantly clogs. I have spent more time unclogging this vacuum than any other vacuum I've owned. This vacuum does not clean – it is a very expensive floor duster. We have cats so from time-to-time I will find small pieces of cat kibble on the floor – the vacuum does not pick it up. The list of things this vacuum does not pick up is seemingly endless, but here are a few examples: coffee grounds individual staples crushed egg shells, lint, small pieces of dried leaves in the fall small pieces of paper fine needles from artificial Christmas trees and garland bits of thread bits of wool dried flower petals tiny bits of mud from shoes I've tried vacuuming the cars with this vacuum, but it does not have the suction to pick up the tiny little pieces of lint that collect on the upholstery and floors. Basically, anything larger than sand or dust, this vacuum does not pick up. If you place the vacuum head right over the small item you are trying to vacuum up sometimes you will get lucky and it will pick it up, but if you vacuum up anything larger than a couple of pieces of cat food – the connection between the vacuum head and the hose gets clogged. I have had this vacuum since August 2018 and dread using it every time. I have unclogged it so many time the tip where you insert the screw driver to release the brush from the head is starting to wear. Last night I had enough of this over-priced, novelty item – I was decorating the house for Christmas and had remnants of artificial pine needles all over the floor – the vacuum clogged five times where the vacuum head attaches to the hose and twice where the hose attaches to the canister. After nearly 40 minutes of vacuuming and unclogging the vacuum, I finally dug our old $149 Canadian Tire Shark vacuum out of the storage room and had the floor clean in less than five minutes with no clogs. A $650 vacuum should at the very least be able to compete with a Canadian Tire $149 special. After the nightmare and waste of time I had last night trying to vacuum my living room – I finally had enough with this vacuum and I am dropping it off at the electronic recyclers. This was without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. I kept it for two years, because of the cost of it and I didn't want to throw away $650, but I literally cannot deal with this vacuum any longer. I really liked the Dyson upright – it was a bit heavy and cumbersome to use and it was very awkward to vacuum stairs, but it picked up everything I needed it to and it very, very rarely clogged. There is absolutely no comparison between the canister and the upright! I have called customer service and did all the trouble shooting tips, I washed the filter and then bought a replacement filter when that failed. If you have to vacuum more than dust from your floors – do not buy this vacuum. If you are insistent on purchasing a Dyson vacuum – go with the upright!NatalieF

This vacuum makes other vacuumes seem like garbage created in back alleys by neanderthals that started a vacuum business, like they're lies an imitation of vacuum technology. Stop wasting your money on hundred and something dollar vacuums every year or two and hating them the whole time as they don't really clean your floor cuz their suction never really sucked and you sit on the floor and unclog them all the time. Just buy this vacuum! they have a 14 day full refund return policy if you don't feel it is superior enough to be worth its price tag believe me it is. Check on price match. if it's not on sale haven't seen it for more than $100 off. Might think it's crazy to spend so much but it's that much better the other ones are crap made by tricky robbers. Sure it is an investment but you will be so blown away by the quality of how well it works I bet you won't return it and you'll see it as an investment because you know how the other ones just break so might as well invest and have it last for 5 years and enjoy your vacuuming experience. Easy to use everything's in its place simple powerful puts other vacuums to shame it should be illegal to sell the other vacuums it's literally like stealing your money whenever you compare it to this vacuum. a vacuum is an investment that should work well that helps keep your family healthy and safe it shouldn't break every couple years like the last few uprights I bought I also feel like the fact this is a canister vacuum is just a much better design as well but I think any Dyson is going to just bring it as far as vacuuming goes the other vacuums literally do not seem like Vacuums in comparison I can't stress that enough. It looks like it's kind of big in the picture but it's not it's nice and Compact but has a big enough canister and it's got handles where it should and slots for everything and all the attachments you would need without going overboard secure don't fall off when you're not using them which has happened with the attachments on other vacuums quite annoying. I mean you will want to vacuum more if you have this vacuum you will want to clean your floor completely just to see it like clean stuff it is fun too use! It is bafflingly silent it is the quietest vacuum on the planet you could probably vacuum with this vacuum in the same room with a sleeping person and the person would not wake up. Almost forgot whenever you vacuum and you maybe vacuumed up something that might be a little larger such as a penny let's say and you know how you usually hear the penny kind of Slam around the corner is it goes in this literally doesn't Slam at all it just gets vacuumed in it doesn't sound like it's getting hit at all or damaging your vacuum in anyway which is very comforting the vacuum is doing its job not asking you to pre clean smaller items before you vacuum.Zeldarocks

I’ve had mine for three years and I love it as much as when I first got it. I have to say this works best for hardwoods or other hard flooring. I got one for my mom and her housekeeper said it hurt jar back but she used it for carpets. I wouldn’t recommend it for that. If they advertised it for wood floors I think it would have a rating of 5 stars. I have all hard flooring and it is fantastic. It basically dusts the floor with the rotary tool. It just glides behind me with little or no effort. It has so much reach. It cleans everywhere, cracks, corners, underneath the bed, ceiling fans. I can vacuum the house in no time. To me it is so much better than the stick vacs. You don’t have to hold the weight and you can do the entire house and never loose power. I would definitely recommend this for hard floors!!!LisaSt

Works like a champ. I have hardwoods, rugs, carpet, and tile throughout current home and it switches seamlessly between all three without having to change the device. Has been a life saver with hardwood floors and no longer having to waste 45+minutes/day sweeping to only have a ton of doggo hair left behind- 20mins and all surfaces are clean af! This is the second Miele HEPA vacuum cleaner we have owned. This is a replacement for a 20 year old model that was working as new but was destroyed in hurricane Irma. This new model has the powered rotating head where the old one used the suction from the vacuum to power the head. That makes this new model more powerful for cleaning longer shag rugs. We never had anything but short pile until recently so the old one worked just fine for us then. The new model’s Head is heavier than the old model but moves relatively easy, if the height adjustment is set correctly. If it is set too low, the head pulls forward to much, as is expected. When adjusted correctly it works just perfectly.JP

This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael

Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey
