Do not buy this vacuum. I had one of these sweepers a long time ago – and I purchased this with high hopes and big expectations. I could not be any more disappointed. Trying to use this piece of crap is so darn frustrating. The air filter and door WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE. It falls out constantly, it absolutely will not stay in place. The vacuum does not pull straight, the hose with the power head will not stand up but falls over. When I am pulling the vacuum as I sweep, even when I am going in a straight line, it runs into the wall or ROLLS OVER ONTO IT'S TOP. Then the lid to the attachments that I couldn't get open previously pop open as it rolls over, and all of the attachments fall out. It is so dang frustrating to use this contraption that I HATE using it. I bought this to make my life easier and also more efficient. I wanted a sweeper that I can use on the floors as well as the walls, curtains, furniture and any nook and cranny in the house. It is so hard to use and so frustrating to have to keep uprighting the vacuum and then put the filter and door back on and then try to get the attachments out and make sure the hose and head are leaned adequately or laid down so they don't fall over and break something – that by that time I am so frustrated I just want to throw it out the door. The reason I gave it one star is because it does have adequate suction – not super great, but adequate. I so wanted to love this sweeper, and I am so disappointed and frustrated with it. I am so sorry that I wasted our hard earned money on it.
This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael
Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey

I purchased this for my son who is in construction so he can clean up messes for his customers when he finishes his jobs. I have owned 3 Oreck sweepers for 25+ years. Received my first canister sweeper as a freebie when I purchased my first upright. I loved it for cleaning cars, stairs, windows and around the baseboards in our home. It was light weight but very durable. It was my go-to sweeper for small and quick jobs. The only complaints I have are the red cord… really? why red? and the flexible hose is not long enough for most chores. It is difficult to use.1. the hose always pulls against you – have tried to stretch it out but it doesn't work.2. Let me start this review by saying that I have purchased and used a lot of vacuums in my day. For the last couple of years I’ve been using the Shark Vertex Powered lift away. I love that machine, but still missed having a canister. I had been seeing the Shark Canister Pet vacuum advertised on line and a couple days ago decided to purchase, and I’m so glad I did. The first thing I noticed when trying it out for the first time was how powerful it is. The suction power is unbelievable. I also love that it has 3 speeds of suction power. The beater brush has two speeds. Low and high. High is recommended for carpet while low is recommended for hardwood floors. The power head has fins mixed with bristles and does an excellent job at removing dust and dirt from floors. My favorite thing about this vacuum is how lightweight it is. I literally can pick the canister up by its handle with one finger. The controls for this vacuum are conveniently located on the handle. This particular canister vacuum comes with two attachments. A decent sized crevice tool and a nice upholstery tool. The power head comes with the unit as well. I tried my attachments from my vertex lift away and they fit and work with the canister! The canister glides on 4 caster wheels and moves great. It also has a 25 ft retractable cord. The Shark Canister Pet is a high quality vacuum that’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. This is my first canister vacuum. I can't say how it compares to other canisters but it's an amazing vacuum. This vacuum has incredible suction. Far better suction than any other vacuum I have owned. I am actually quite shocked at how much this can pick up. I have cats so I needed a good vacuum to pick up all of the hair in my home. It has easy to use buttons on the handle for changing the suction level or cleaning modes. The MultiFLEX is a great addition and allows for easy cleaning under furniture. The no hair wrap brushroll is a lifesaver! I hated having to cut hair from the roller on my other vacuums. I get so much hair caught on those and this one never gets hair stuck on it. It's easy to empty and holds more than my other vacuums so I can make less trips to empty it. The wand is extremely long and can reach further than any other wand I have used, making it great for getting up high near ceilings. The attachments work well for crevices and removing pet hair from furniture. There are super bright LED lights so I can see if I am missing anything while I vacuum. This can be used with the canister wheeled on the ground or carried. It is lightweight and easy to carry up stairs or around furniture. The wheels work well to pull across the floor as well. It isn't as maneuverable as a standard upright and works best in open spaces unless the canister is being carried. It's just what comes with using a canister compared to an upright. I have been using this shark bagless pet pro canister vacuum for some time now. With 3 pets who shed nonstop I'm always in the market for the greatest and newest vacuums available to help me keep the hair down and the allergies away. The vacuum has a great section not just using the hand tools but also in the floor roller itself. As someone with long hair one of my greatest battles is trying to get mine off the roller using my old vacuums didn't matter style or brand. This bagless canister vacuum also comes equipped with self cleaning paddles leaving me more time to get other things accomplished. Let's just say I was astonished at how much was pulled from my rugs when I regularly vacuum weekly sometimes 2 to 3 times. One of the better features that I've seen on it that's not mentioned is it actually runs more quiet than other vacuums I have used. The hand tools are great the only thing that I seem to have an issue with is the awkward positioning of the tubing maybe if it was a bit thinner a bit longer it would be easier but sometimes when you're walking around it'll flip the vacuum itself and turn itself off because it has 2 different ways to power it on and off. Would be a great vacuum for someone with a small home, they only use this on. I’m not a fan of it because I used it for about 2 weeks and it seriously lost suction in that time. I have to clean it after EVERY room and make sure the filter is perfectly clear for it to have just a bit of the suction it started with. Hopefully I just received a dud and it’s not like this for everyone else who purchases it. My belief – this is a good vacuum which will work well for some. The problem I had is 'inadequate attachments' need for versatility.. It really gives you a rather klutzy poor design floor-rug tool. It needs a robust brush tool with bristles for hard surface floors. The one it has is more 'a small strip with ting bristles that keep it from scratching the floor The floor brush' tool needs to be more substantial and with a robust brush. It has no upholstery or crevice tools it has an inadequate tool that is tiny brush tool. The receptacle tank for the dirt is quite small. I suspect it was this way so that it enhances a more powerful suction action but I am not an engineer to know this. It would help to have a bigger tank. I could not adapt the many attachments I already have from many Vacuums I have because pipe size is unique to this vacuum. I have used an older Eureka The Boss Mighty Mite. When my trusty old Kenmore canister vacuum died I was bummed. It had worked well for years, and canister vacuums are hard to find. I liked using my new vacuum and had no problem with it being bagless, but the extension cord would keep rewinding once the motor got warm. I was insulted when sent a email from Prolux that I needed to clean the canister to get optimized performance and the machine was overheating because I wasn't keeping the canister cleaned out. Oh, but I was! I was caring for the vacuum after reading all the instructions for best use and the canister wasn't even full but I'd clean it out before putting it away…then there was no suction (even with a newly cleaned canister). We took the hose off and was finding that the arc of the handle was gathering dirt and not carrying it out. Too much hassle so I got a refund.Bette W.
Pros: went together quite easily (I did read the manual) So far it has great suction, and easy to clean. Picks up pet hair really well, there was a lot of fine dust in the dust/dirt container when I emptied it out, so that is a good thing. Three cats and 2 labs in my house, and they are all inside/outside critters. The power head works well. I had read that people have issues with it tipping over. Didn't happen to me, and moves around easily. All the parts fit right into place, no gaps, nothing hard to pull apart. I really like that it is bagless. Cons; The box was quite broken up when it arrived, guess that is the delivery peoples fault. There were two broken pieces, one being the on board tool caddy for storage of the attachments (I don't believe that could have happened in shipping), one other broken piece of plastic, that came from somewhere, still trying to figure out what it goes to. The tank itself has a big dent in it ( it being plastic guess it's a manufacturing issue). The long floor attachment came with a long flat rubber insert for something (the schematics don't show where it goes). The crevice tool is quite puny. I had just assumed (my fault) that the power head would have a height adjustment. I had been using a Kenmore Canister for 20 years. So in order to vacuum carpet runners (7 feet long) I have to put a chair on the end or have one of the dogs sit on it, so it doesn't get sucked up. I guess that is a good thing that it has such good suction, better more than less. So far so good, I have not found the noise level that loud, my Kenmore was a lot louder. I have not used the furniture/stair attachment so won't comment on it. It does generate quite a bit of static when in use I guess a little shock now and then isn't that big of a deal. I did not rate the Durability or value for the money, because I don't have a crystal ball saying how long this vacuum will last. During the pandemic you can't always get what you want. I wanted to go to a store and buy a vacuum that I could see, feel and maybe even hear before I bought it. I'm a little fussy. Quiet is very important to me. It quickly became apparent that my only choice was buying online. I'm not exactly sure how I ended up on Prolux's site but I'm so glad I did. The C3 Calima is a wonderful canister vacuum by Miele. I have used and owned many canisters from the German manufacturer, both in Germany and here in the US. The only disappointment was one made in the US who lasted only 3 years, as I had to replace the motor unit. Since then I made sure that I bought only vacuums made in Germany, or those that used German made parts. I bought the last vacuum 7 years ago, and it is still in top notch condition. Love this vacuum for my wood floors. I keep this one upstairs. It's compact, light and fits inside a small hall closet.It rolls safely and easily on the wood. The turbo brush works great on throw rugs. The Parquet twister brush is the best, it goes under the bed and other furniture like a breeze. I bought the extra furniture brush that I use on drapes, shades etc. The dust brush that came with it is too small to do much with it. This other brush was expensive, but does the trick. My husband and I are tall people, I absolutely love the fact that this canister vacuum has a long nozzle where I don't feel like I'm leaning over too much to vacuum the floor. It's very quiet, you can still have a conversation with it running. The turbo suction is no joke, be careful it'll eat your rug easily, learned there are different settings for the suction amount! Love that the floor head is much larger than the other leading brands. I also have allergies, so this HEPA filtration system is a a bonus to help keep our inside air clean. My only suggestion for future models is to have an option for on/off switch to be on the handle too. You always have to use the foot switch for operation, for older folks it's a long of bending down for operation. Overall so glad we invested the money to get this great vacuum!Faith D

Pros: This is a great vacuum cleaner, I needed a replacement for my previous Vax cleaner – for hoovering out the garage and our cars. The VAX was great but after seven years it was falling apart. I have previously purchased some cheaper cyclone type hoovers which turned out to be useless. So I went for a Miele this time even though it is a bagged type vacuum cleaner, decision based on the quality of the brand and that Curry’s PC World were doing a really cheap deal on this model. It’s very powerful on maximum setting and it does a great cleaning job on the cars. The three wheels on the bottom make moving the vacuum cleaner around the garage easy. The cable return spring is really powerful, far better than any other hoover I’ve had. This cleaner is an all round high quality item. Cons: It’s a fantastic quality hoover and really powerful, however I find that the hose quite often can hit the on off button and that is enough to switch the device off. I have owned one for 17 years and it has been the best cleaning tool I have ever owned. I have used it in so many cleaning scenarios including vacuuming up major ant infestations many times. I have used it up high on ladders which makes the strap very handy, and when I broke the cord (my fault), I liked it so much that I had it repaired with a new one. my mother has one she bought from a professional vacuum store and it worked great actually beyond great it was awesome. so much I went to amazon to see if they sold it and yes they did. I had it in just a few days. well to my surprise it was not the same product. JUST the hose part is different everything else is the same. the hose that was sent to me is a very hard plastic hose which makes it hard to maneuver. i was not happy that they changed the hose to this new hard plastic. After putting my almost 25 year old Kenmore canister down, I was reluctant to buy another one knowing how cheaply things are made these days. It's lighter and smaller. It has a lot of sucking power. I don't like how the attachments hook on to the wand and the floor brush gets to go into the canister. The carpet attachment is much the same and works great on carpet, but not as good on the floor. Got this because my wife loves purple. No greater reason to buy a vacuum cleaner than the color. It works great on non-carpeted floors but is impossible to move on carpet. Good thing it's for a home without carpet. Everything works fine except the hose falls apart. You are vacuuming away and suddenly the head is on the floor and you are pushing an incomplete hose. I fixed that with a piece of masking tape around the top of the head piece. Shouldn't have to gerry rig a new vacuum in my opinion.No Body You Know!
I always used Bissell canisters for the easy conversion and parts sharing between machines(since we use them a lot). As Bissells age, the motors naturally get a bit less efficient, and that's expected. The Bissell Zing was a huge mistake. I had to duct tape all of the extension hose connections just to use it at all. Now I can't use it for small crevice jobs unless I rip it all off and retape constantly. It needs a click and lock function on the extension adaptors. It may not be as much of an issue as it ages and it can't lift a cotton ball, but new, it has suction that rips the plain plastic extensions that attach the heads, off onto the floor. I'm going to go with a more pricey manufacturer now. This Green thing is going in the garbage. I had a feeling the price was too good to be true. If you have a roll of duct tape and never plan on using the extensions and only use floor head, or never plan to use extensions and floor head, it will be fine for you and has great suction for that. If you need to ever use the floor features, it may be irritating and require taping. OH LOOK, MADE IN CHINA. Now everything makes sense.Brandy Lewis
I love the Bissell Zing. For the money it works very well. My only complaints are that it is all plastic. While it makes the vacuum light, its durability is questionable. Also the hose has no way of staying on to the floor tool. You push it on and hope for the best. I can see this being a problem in time and also a frustration. One other thing, the electric cord is very short. For the cost in todays world it is very good but you barley get what you pay for these days! My expectations aren't very high! I wish there was a company that would take pride in the fact that they give the consumer a well made product, at a fair cost, that would last longer then a year. I know, by doing this you wouldn't make huge profits but you would still make healthy profits and loyal customers! It would also help the environment with keeping waste at a minimum! I bought the Eureka Mighty Mite specifically because it was the cheapest vacuum cleaner with a bag that I could find. As such, it works. It is very cheaply made. The two straight sections that connect to the floor sweeper often come apart. The ring that increases or reduces suction on one of those sections is really hostile to fingers. Watch out. It took a bite out of the palm side of one of my fingers! But, the vacuum does function. If you need a cheap vacuum cleaner with a bag, it’s a very basic choice.Katherine

This is copied and pasted right off the Walmart description: "The Eureka Mighty Mite Canister Vacuum is versatile – while it does well on carpets or rugs, it is ideal for vacuuming bare floors, wood floors and tiles." When I put it together and started to vacuum, I realized you can't push the floor tool on carpet; all you can do is drag it toward you. There are no rollers on it. I called the customer service helpline and told them, and they said it wasn't meant for rugs, only bare floors. I read them the description above that said it does well on carpets or rugs, and on page 6 of the owner's guide it gave instructions for both bare floors and rugs. Then she said it was only for flat rugs. I had tried it on both flat rugs and one with medium pile. It was only slightly workable on the flat rugs. I was extremely disappointed. It has strong suction, so if all you have is bare floors, it would be okay. But don't buy it if you have any carpet at all.Melanie
I had hoped there would be a brush on the floor attachment and not just plastic. I was happy to find some sort of velcro strip that picks up rug stuff or bare floor dust balls. This was not mentioned in the list of the product. Otherwise, the suction was great, but had to keep the slide open, for not the maximum suction, as it was too strong! Also, not mentioned was the receiving of 2 bags, one inside and one separate to use. I still ordered 3 more separately as the local stores did not carry them. As a senior, I don't create lots of dust in my 700 sq.ft. apartment. Now to start on the brush attachment and do some fine dusting! I just bought this when my old shop vac (starts with a C) motor bearing burned out (it started to scream and smell). It has great vacuum and moves a lot of air for a shop vac. I will use this under my drill press, but also use it with my router table and wood shaper to keep sawdust down. I like that it comes with a 10 foot power cord, so extension cord is not needed any more and I can move it about without unplugging it. I also like it has a 2" hose instead of the 1.25" hose (most of the Bauer shop vacs have the bigger hose) and was a requirement for the aforementioned tools. Pretty good for the discounted price of $100. Assembly was very simple- 4 screws, one per wheel. Most of the accessories are in the tank. I hope this has better reliability than my C shop-vac. (I no longer buy "C" products because of poor bearings) Note that the tank is 14 gallons, but actual debris capacity is probably half that after the filter is inserted, but that is true for all shop vacs.Delaware Dave
We now have a dog which means both mine and my wife's car require deep cleaning. I had been using an old household vacuum cleaner that I had stationed in the garage but it became clearer to me that I couldn't pick-up all the dried food bits and dog hair with that vacuum cleaner. The Bauer Wet/Dry Vac is probably twice as powerful as my old home vacuum cleaner! It cleans out our cars so much better! I also plan to use it to clean out the ash from my Traeger smoker and suck-out the leaves that have been collecting inside my home A/C condenser. I used mine on a daily basis. You can not beat it for the money. I use mine for hot tub drain and cleans. This vacuum is large enough to hold all the water my drain pump can’t get and strong enough to pull the water out the plumbing, even on the larger hot tubs with 60+ jets. I also run mine with out any of the filters and am constantly using it to drain water with extremely high bromine (chlorine) and both acidic and super hard water. I beat mine up and I still get 200+ drain and cleans out of it before the motor starts to weaken. I’m sure if I was nicer to them I could get it to last much longer. I absolutely love the Kenmore BC4002 Bagged Canister Vacuum Blue. Assembly was very easy (it comes with a dust bag already installed.) My parents have had the same basic model twice before, and each one lasted around 15 years for a total of over 30 years of cleaning a household with lots of dog hair, and sand tracked in from outdoors. I really enjoy the canister style vacuum with a wand and bare floor attachment for getting under beds and furniture. This newest one, the materials don't have the same feel of durability as previous generations, but the performance seems the same. It seems to me it's actually cheaper in price than the old ones my parents used to purchase. Lightweight, great suction, versatile for carpets, bare floors, stairs, vehicles, crevices and corners. I highly recommend this vacuum. I am writing this review as part of a contest.
I made this purchase for my wife. We have purchased Kenmore vacuums for many years and have always been very pleased. This model BC4002 will hopefully last for many years also. Initially we are very happy with many aspects of this model. It has a very powerful two motor system. It has a four level height adjustment lever, a handle switch to turn on and off the brush roller, a telescoping wand, 360° hose swivel, quick release, push-button cord rewind, micro-filtration, HEPA filter and attachment set with holder. A few things my wife was not smiling about were the location of the attachment holder and the position of on/off switch. The attachments get into the way in tight spaces and she would rather have the on/off switch on the handle like older models. It is located on the back of the canister which isn't nearly as convenient. My wife suggested that Kenmore make the attachment handle fit on the lid of the canister if they don't to make room inside the canister. This is the second Miele HEPA vacuum cleaner we have owned. This is a replacement for a 20 year old model that was working as new but was destroyed in hurricane Irma. This new model has the powered rotating head where the old one used the suction from the vacuum to power the head. That makes this new model more powerful for cleaning longer shag rugs. We never had anything but short pile until recently so the old one worked just fine for us then. The new model’s Head is heavier than the old model but moves relatively easy, if the height adjustment is set correctly. If it is set too low, the head pulls forward to much, as is expected. When adjusted correctly it works just perfectly.JP
I had a Miele Red Velvet for 20 years, and this is replacing it (it still runs fine, but I got tired of dealing with the hose issues). As you know the Red Velvet hose had design issues that caused the power-head to lose power. This Marin has a new hose design that allows the handle to swivel without the hose moving. I believe this will fix the power-head issue. Only time will tell. The Marin seems to be a bit lighter than the Red Velvet, could be due to more plastic, not sure. This model has an auto suction adjustment, so if it's on, the vacuum seems to not suck has hard, but if you increase the power setting, it does just fine. Although nothing last forever, even at $1200, I hope to get 20+ years out of this unit. Just be aware the bags and filters are quite costly, but I guess quietness, clean air and style cost money.

I purchased this canister vacuum for the cleaning wand that doesn't require bending over to clean around baseboards, steps, and high areas (ceiling, above doors, etc.). I am surprised by the suction on this little vacuum and will be using it to vacuum my hardwood floors as well. I like that I can just dump the dirt and debris in my trash can and not have a big mess or dust cloud (more cleanup). The only issues that I have is the cleaning wand falls apart at times and the cord is shorter than I prefer but not a deal breaker for me. For the price I really give it 4.5 stars. I love Bissell products. We have purchased multiple vacuum cleaners as well as steam cleaners made by Bissell for about 25 years and the quality is great as well as the price compared to other brands.
My wife and I built a vacuum hair clipper system to cut my hair. I never was a big fan of barbers. We have been Hoover customers for years and wanted to try something else for our build. After all, there are many good companies out here and Bissell is one of those for sure. Great company and a very nice machine. This thing has enough suction to suck the paint off a Buick!! I like that the vacuum cleaner is lightweight and bagless. Also, the suction is good. I purchased it as a second vacuum cleaner for vacuuming under the bed. My other vacuum cleaner would not fit under my bed. I was able to vacuum under my bed with this vacuum cleaner. It may not work well as an only vacuum cleaner for carpet cleaning. Since it is lightweight, I am not sure how well it picks up dirt deep in the carpet, but it did pick up dust that was under my bed. I think it works well for hard floors and as a second vacuum cleaner for reaching areas you cannot reach with other vacuum cleaners. Also. it would be good for baseboard cleaning. Oh my goodness. I've been a housewife for nearly 30 years and I've spent countless hours vacuuming my home. I have never loved a vacuum before….EVER. This new Miele is a magnificent machine. First of all it's beautiful. It is designed so well. Every part clicks into place with such easy precision. Every part is very easily accessible and well made. The controls on the handles are genius. Pure genius. And performance?? WOW. Its quiet. There is NO smell or odor or dust when I vacuum!! I didn't realize all of these years how much my past vacuums put out dirt,dust,smells…YUCK! I'm 52 years old and I can vividly remember the smell that would come from our very expensive Kirby vacuum from my childhood. It always smelled like our dog….ewww! I'm so happy with my Miele that I have yet to put it away! I've used it everyday since it arrived and I love to just look at it! The retractable cord works seamlessly. The wand holders on the unit are fabulous. The power head brings tears to my eyes…..all of the choices for power level and height are wonderful. My home is 95% wood floors and we have many area rugs. It’s a transition for me to not see what I’ve picked up and wait for an indicator light to tell me when to change the bag, but I look forward to it! I previously had a bagless canister with another maker. The cord on this one practically gets me through my house. I was surprised how long it is. I was excited about the light, but it’s not what I expected because the light I needed was for the hard floors and it is only on the carpet attachment. Don’t get me wrong, as I love this vacuum! This is by far the very best vacuum I have ever owned and I suspect I will not have to buy another one again. The Uniq not only has strong suction, it also has suction control which allows me to fine tune the suction based on what I am cleaning. This vacuum is extremely quiet, so much so that I can use it in the early morning and not wake up my children. The bags are large and go a long way. Lots of finger tip controls and height adjustments for the big power head. It really does make my life easier when using this vacuum. I feel spoiled by my Miele UniQ but I am worth it.Elsa

The touchless vacuum is absolutely terrific at picking up whatever dirt or debris you sweep near it. You can choose to put it on automatic mode, where it will pick up anything that comes close to it, or you can put it on manual mode, where you push a button near the floor to pick up what you have swept close to it. It has great suction & picks up everything quickly & efficiently. When you have filled the inside section that holds all the debris, you just easily pull it out, dump it, & put it back. It takes several weeks of cleaning the house to fill up this internal debris holding section of the vacuum. I am very impressed with this vacuum, cleaning has never been so easy!Beth
I purchased the EyeVac Pro because I don't need a full size vacuum for my studio apartment. I have hardwood floors and thought that this product would be ideal for the daily sweeps of random hair, dust, etc. The EyeVac has great suction, however, when you sweep hair, random particles like string, etc does not get deposited into the container, instead it gets stuck in the filter. After a few sessions the suction is gone. Don't mistake this for large amounts of particles, I am very tidy and live alone. So it is just the random particles that are brought into the apt on a daily basis. I am not a person that returns used items, but, in this case, I returned the item after a few months of giving it a good try. I wasn't sure about this, but returns to my local BBB store are straightforward so I decided to give it a shot. We have dogs (so clean up hair constantly). I had read that some newly constructed home have these built into the kick spaces or walls. I set it up in my laundry room, it works great ! It is ideal if you use swiffers or other similar things, which never get up all of the debris on the floor. I steer the swiffer to the eye-vac and POOF ! Bought this off the Bissell site thinking it was the best canister and that the design would nail what customers who actually vacuum need. This machine came promptly and is light weight, but has a smaller head and bagless chamber than the one I was replacing. Assembly was easy, yet directions were scant. After using it twice I realized the main handle and tube does not stand by itself, so if you need to move something in the course of vacuuming and take your hand off the main handle, rod and tube all come crashing down to the floor or hit something on the way down. You cannot store this machine with the handle standing, but must use a shabby slot on the back. Also the handle itself does not have an on/off button. Rather the user must push a button on the main part of the machine and not let go of the handle, as it will fall and hit whatever is in its path. Also, I have found that it's pretty difficult to open the bottom of the dustless container. So far, I've have to almost pry it open. These features are essential for the user/customer, but ignored in the design of this vacuum-Why?Bob in NM
I do not usually post reviews, but I am so angry that I decided that I must. This vac was purchased new from Canadian Tire one year ago and Bissell no longer can supply the foam and felt filters for the tank lid as I have been told that this vac has been discontinued. I have a house with wall to wall carpeting. This vac must be completely taken apart each time it is used and thoroughly washed. When the filters that came with this vac are no longer able to be used I will have to buy a new vac and it will not be a Bissell for sure. I think that a company as large as Bissell should continue to carry replacement filters and parts for their products for many years in the future. Just because you discontinue a product does not mean stores are not still selling it. You cannot expect to keep customers if you do not support your products.Gail
I have a golden retriever and bought this to replace my broken Kenmore canister vacuum. On hardwood it works ok but the area rug and front and carpets it's not good. You cannot adjust the beater brush height and on anything but a low pile it's not very good. I leave it on full power but that makes little difference. Takes 3 times as long as my old vacuum as you have to go over the area 5 or more times to pick up the dog hair stuck in the carpet and rug. The only reason I'm even keeping it is because emptying the canister is better then the bags I used to have to throw out. I am happy with its use on the hardwood and tile but very disappointed with it on carpet. I'd expect more for the price.Retriever owner

Bought 6 months ago. Have always had Kenmore canister vacs and loved them. This one has been nothing but problems. First one bought was faulty (would not push over carpet) and I returned right away. Customer service was great, they gave me a new one. Had second one for about 6 months and within that time the plastic latch that keeps bag enclosed broke completely off and you could not store the vacuum upright as the lid would keep opening. Then the wand extension broke, it would not stay at the length desired, it constantly would open to full extension while vacuuming floor when you would not want the wand that long. Then, finally, the plastic ring at the swivel head broke off. The whole thing is made of very cheap plastic that breaks easily. I returned the second one and requested to get a different Kenmore vac (a cheaper model with better reviews) but was told they would not refund me the price difference. So now I am bout to open the box of my third Kenmore elite in 6 months. A vacuum that costs almost $500 should not be made of such cheap plastic and have this many issues!
My original crossover died after 10+ years of use. I was devastated, as there are no longer any Sears stores to ship for appliances. I searched the he internet and found them on eBay!! I bought 2!! I personally hate carpet, but purchased this house 4 years ago, and although some floors are tile, and wood, there is still a considerable amount of carpet. Eventually it will be replaced, and the crossover will still work perfectly on solid floors! Couldnt be happier with my purchase I have always preferred a canister to an upright and the crossover does fabulous in both solid floors and carpet. I highly recommend this product.jaberth-77
This is the King Kong of vacuum cleaners. I have Kirby and Windsor uprights as well as Panasonic, Hoover, Singer, Eureka and Electrolux canisters, along with other modern Kenmores and a variety of vintage Kenmore vacuums. Nothing can touch this for suction and airflow. The CrossOver floor brush at first blush seems like a gimmick but it isn't. It out cleans the traditional Powermates. I can put a normal Powermate from my Progressive on the Elite and it doesn't pull up dog hair like the CrossOver brush does. The greater dept of the brush seems to leverage it into carpet better. And it is supremely quiet. It out cleans even the Kirby and is so much easier to use. Even at full power with the floor brush operating you can carry on a normal conversation over it. The detachable hard floor brush works much better than you would at first suspect and the maneuverability of the swivel neck will spoil you. My initial inclination was to dislike it but it has become a favorite to use. Did I mention that it's quiet?Compared to some high priced German and American made vacuums the Kenmore has superior attachments rather than the little kids toys other brands provide. The hoses are sturdy and don't whip around like the light, springy, cheap hoses on some higher priced machines. Wand connections are nice and solid. The new style fat wands let the motor work in it's sweet spot for suction and airflow. The Contour Brush attachment is clever and oh so useful for high shelves and ceiling fans. The Pet Powermate is the best in the business and far better than any turbo tool. It never bogs on soft upholstery and the bristles don't clog with lint and pet hair like other similar brushes. Kenmores have very large bag chambers and their cloth HEPA Q bag is reasonably priced if you buy the bag of six. Filters are likewise humanely priced. The Germans in particular overcharge for both and their dust bags are tiny.Cons? The surface finish on the lid and CrossOver brush is easy to scratch and scratches can't be polished out. The lid itself seems a little flimsy so be gentle with it. The machine has so much suction it will literally tear a paper C bag, so don't even think of using one. Stick to the cloth HEPA Q bag. The brush roll and belt are more work to access on the CrossOver brush than they are on a conventional Powermate, but no more work than some other higher priced floor brushes such as those from Aerus Lux or Wessel-Werk. It is screwed together better than a normal Powermate so that is the trade off. Did I mention it's quiet? Great vacuum. There is no reason to spend double or triple the price of the Elite just to have a fancy name on your vacuum. None of the more expensive machines will out clean it.
