Best Canister Vacuum With Powerhead (2024 Update)

Okay I have literally been vacuuming the last 4 hours with 3 dogs shedding and the Kirby not doing its job correctly the house was bad! I literally vacuumed everything I could. 1st the Couch 5stars the attachments and easy amazing! 2nd the stairs again 5stars the way you can use the vacuum head while Removing the center polls making it short was a game changer! I then vacuumed my bed before adding the poll back! Then I went to the floors. I love how it goes from carpet to hard floors with the touch of a button and the way the long poll has the under furniture button that folds the poll the opposite direction, again game changer! I loved not having to get on my hands and knees to vacuum the dog hair trapped under the different furniture pieces! The soft bristles on the vacuum head didn't clog one time from the dog hair so it's came to self clean the rolling bristles is legit! Now here is the parts I didn't like, on carpet it has where you can change to suction power, that I like however everytime you stop it to pick something up on move something and start it back you have to reset everything. The attachments attach to the long post in one spot and it gets in the way in my opinion i would like them better in a lower position away from the handle but that prevents the under furniture function. I had to empty the tank 3 times so I would like a larger dirt tank. Overall I would say if your house is like mine and more hardwoods and tile flooring than carpet I say. 5 stars overall and do it! If your home is mostly carpet and not much hardwoods or tiles I would say the Shark upright vacuums would be better for you!Ashley

My Shark canister vacuum was a Christmas gift. We have a Shark lift away upright; which I love but I wanted a canister vacuum to be able to clean everything from one room to the next. Unfortunately, thus one just doesn’t do the task for me. I cannot go very far with this vacuum as it tips over while trying to get to the attachments or if you are trying to vacuum from the floor the hose isn’t very bling or an addition metal hide attachment is needed. I like to vacuum my drapes, window shades and window seals and furniture. If I try to reach my curtains the entire canister lifts up which makes it difficult for me to get my chores done. I also do not like the attachments being attached on the outside as they get In the way and fall off. The canister unit needs to have a self storing compartment under the lid for additional attachments. The beater bar unit needs to be able to stand up by itself without falling over. I must definitely would love Shark to have a model canister that I can use from one room to the next with just a switch of attachments. Including a separate floor attachment for hard floors along with the crevice and small wand for furniture would be awesome. An additional metal wand that would extend so I could reach my ceiling fans and drapes would be amazing. Having a detachable beater bar unit along with the separate hard floor attachment would ever so helpful and will save on the beater bar unit getting dirty from kitchen and bathroom floors. If you could take these added features with the awesome cleaning power of the Shark; you would have a winning machine. I hope these suggestions will be welcomed by your designing department. I have been using sharks for the past 10 – 12 yrs now. I still have my original one I bought which was the shark rotator with the caddy turning it from upright to canister. We have always had 4-5 big dogs and a Himalayan cat. All long haired dogs from golden retrievers to Berne's mountain dogs and had a dycon that didn’t even pick all that hair up. That is what led me to try the shark and I was sold every since. Then I got the stick for when I’m in a hurry and want a quick vacuuming and decided to really invest and I love my canisters. I have both hard wood floors and carpet so need it to do both very very well. This is my 3rd and I absolutely love it. Worth every penny. It has suction like no other, the cup holds a lot of hair and dirt, I can do the stairs which has carpet on them, the hose is plenty long enough and the canister doesn’t flip over and cleans up easily. Best Canister Vacuum on the market. I have purchased several portable canister vacuums and this Oreck is the best! I purchased this for my son who is in construction so he can clean up messes for his customers when he finishes his jobs. He says the vac is so powerful it has picked up wood splinters, sheet rock crumbles, pebbles, broken glass – anything mess that is left over from a construction job. I use it all around the house and in my car. Forget those car vacuums that don't pick up anything. This canister vacuum will even pick up all dog hairs left by my dogs when I take them for rides in my car. And ever try to get dog hair off your couch? I have owned 3 Oreck sweepers for 25+ years. Received my first canister sweeper as a freebie when I purchased my first upright. I loved it for cleaning cars, stairs, windows and around the baseboards in our home. It was light weight but very durable. It was my go-to sweeper for small and quick jobs. The only complaints I have are the red cord… really? why red? and the flexible hose is not long enough for most chores. I had another hose from an older sweeper, my husband had to modify the older hose but now I am much happier with the longer, more flexible hose.Kathy

I have had the old version of the canister and loved it. I decided to give that one to my father and buy this. It is difficult to use.1. the hose always pulls against you – have tried to stretch it out but it doesn't work.2. The friction method of attaching the extension wand does not work as the weight of the wand is too heavy. I kept having to put it back on as it slides off and eventually the end of the wand cracked and needed to be taped.3. The longer cord is great but is too heavy for the weight of the canister itself.4. The strap broke within a month so can't hang it over my shoulder > the little plastic that attaches it – is not strong enough.5. As a custodian with 25-years of experience and having used virtually every vacuum on the market, I can say without reservation that the Cinetic Dyson Big Ball Animal 2 is the best vacuum ever produced. I'm sad to hear that Dyson is phasing out corded vacuums in favor of their stick vacuum V-series. It's just my opinion, but the Big Ball beats the new powerful V-11 by a mile on wall to wall carpeting. Yes, the Dyson V-11 can go where the Big Ball struggles under tough spots, such as dining room tables, beds and other furniture, since it doesn't lay flat. This is my second Dyson purchase. I was somewhat impressed with the first one I bought, the Animal model in purple, but this one is not as good. I would like it better if: 1. It were lighter. This model has a larger ball making it heavy and sometimes difficult to maneuver. 2. It were not so hot. Again, possibly because the ball is bigger but it gives off so much heat that it quickly heats up a room, great in the winter, not so great in the summer 3. The wheels locked. When moving around the house or bringing the vacuum back to where I store it, the bracket that supports the wheels constantly wants to return to 'vacuum mode' at a 45 degree angle rather than remain in the upright position. 4. It actually PICKED UP PET HAIR. I consider myself to be a meticulous housekeeper and with 4 cats I really have no choice. However, I'm always so frustrated when I shampoo my carpets IMMEDIATELY after using this Dyson only to see how much pet hair the carpet cleaning machine has picked up that the Dyson has MISSED. I've had 5 different Dyson vacs – a stick vac; a handheld, an old pre-ball vacuum, and two of the DC25s and I've always been happy with them – until now.. I've also owned many others: Kenmore canister, Hoover upright, Kirby, Bissell, Eureka… (okay – I'm old, and I have 2 homes so I've had many vacuums over the years) I've never had one I disliked more than the Cinetic. 1) it doesn't work on area rugs. It pulls up the big stiff 10'x12' area rug and sticks to that spot like a suction cup on glass. I have to shut it off to move it. I end up using the wand and crevice tool to vacuum the whole room – grumbling and fuming the whole time. I even ordered a spare attachment but that didn't help. I'm ready to siht-can this vacuum and buy a $54 Bissell from Walmart. I wish I had returned it as soon as I got it instead of trying to make it work. 2) Just bumping it causes it to "recline" so it doesn't stand up. It's all loosey goosey. 3) The dustbin clogs easily. I need to take apart the collection bin every time I empty it. Not a good vacuum if you have pets. Bottom line: No, I wouldn't recommend this vacuum to anyone other than someone with hard-surface floors.Comshaw

I happened to have had this very same canister, only gray, years ago. It was also stolen from me along w/the upright. The gal that stole this also gave it back after destroying this item. Shame some people have sticky fingers & are malicious…they love to be mean. Anyways when I got my brother the swivel upright I got myself my new canister. Love it dearly…would not want anything but this…it's light weight, can place on your shoulder like a hand bag, move around the room freely & have my other attachments at finger tips.Frances

This was chosen by our cleaning lady. We figured as the main user and cleaning expert we'd let her pick what she wanted. She went right to the Oreck. She's still using it 12 years later. We sometimes use it ourselves for quick pick-ups. I look at it and it appears in the same condition as when new, a dozen years ago. I cannot rate this product yet! I expect it to be as great or better than my last one, but as yet I have not had a chance to use it! I do have a maid, but only ever 6 weeks! I have had too many things come up to use it! I expect it to be wonderful, as my last one was great for around 20 years! I liked using my new vacuum and had no problem with it being bagless, but the extension cord would keep rewinding once the motor got warm. I was insulted when sent a email from Prolux that I needed to clean the canister to get optimized performance and the machine was overheating because I wasn't keeping the canister cleaned out. Oh, but I was! I was caring for the vacuum after reading all the instructions for best use and the canister wasn't even full but I'd clean it out before putting it away…then there was no suction (even with a newly cleaned canister). We took the hose off and was finding that the arc of the handle was gathering dirt and not carrying it out. Too much hassle so I got a refund.Bette W.

Pros: went together quite easily (I did read the manual) So far it has great suction, and easy to clean. Picks up pet hair really well, there was a lot of fine dust in the dust/dirt container when I emptied it out, so that is a good thing. Three cats and 2 labs in my house, and they are all inside/outside critters. The power head works well. I had read that people have issues with it tipping over. Didn't happen to me, and moves around easily. All the parts fit right into place, no gaps, nothing hard to pull apart. I really like that it is bagless. Cons; The box was quite broken up when it arrived, guess that is the delivery peoples fault. There were two broken pieces, one being the on board tool caddy for storage of the attachments (I don't believe that could have happened in shipping), one other broken piece of plastic, that came from somewhere, still trying to figure out what it goes to. The tank itself has a big dent in it ( it being plastic guess it's a manufacturing issue). The long floor attachment came with a long flat rubber insert for something (the schematics don't show where it goes). The crevice tool is quite puny. I had just assumed (my fault) that the power head would have a height adjustment. I had been using a Kenmore Canister for 20 years. So in order to vacuum carpet runners (7 feet long) I have to put a chair on the end or have one of the dogs sit on it, so it doesn't get sucked up. I guess that is a good thing that it has such good suction, better more than less. So far so good, I have not found the noise level that loud, my Kenmore was a lot louder. I have not used the furniture/stair attachment so won't comment on it. It does generate quite a bit of static when in use I guess a little shock now and then isn't that big of a deal. I did not rate the Durability or value for the money, because I don't have a crystal ball saying how long this vacuum will last. During the pandemic you can't always get what you want. I wanted to go to a store and buy a vacuum that I could see, feel and maybe even hear before I bought it. I'm a little fussy. My husband and I are tall people, I absolutely love the fact that this canister vacuum has a long nozzle where I don't feel like I'm leaning over too much to vacuum the floor. It's very quiet, you can still have a conversation with it running. The turbo suction is no joke, be careful it'll eat your rug easily, learned there are different settings for the suction amount! Love that the floor head is much larger than the other leading brands. I also have allergies, so this HEPA filtration system is a a bonus to help keep our inside air clean. My only suggestion for future models is to have an option for on/off switch to be on the handle too. You always have to use the foot switch for operation, for older folks it's a long of bending down for operation. Overall so glad we invested the money to get this great vacuum!Faith D

Pros: This is a great vacuum cleaner, I needed a replacement for my previous Vax cleaner – for hoovering out the garage and our cars. The VAX was great but after seven years it was falling apart. I have previously purchased some cheaper cyclone type hoovers which turned out to be useless. So I went for a Miele this time even though it is a bagged type vacuum cleaner, decision based on the quality of the brand and that Curry’s PC World were doing a really cheap deal on this model. It’s very powerful on maximum setting and it does a great cleaning job on the cars. The three wheels on the bottom make moving the vacuum cleaner around the garage easy. The cable return spring is really powerful, far better than any other hoover I’ve had. This cleaner is an all round high quality item. Cons: It’s a fantastic quality hoover and really powerful, however I find that the hose quite often can hit the on off button and that is enough to switch the device off. My original crossover died after 10+ years of use. I was devastated, as there are no longer any Sears stores to ship for appliances. I searched the he internet and found them on eBay!! I bought 2!! I personally hate carpet, but purchased this house 4 years ago, and although some floors are tile, and wood, there is still a considerable amount of carpet. Eventually it will be replaced, and the crossover will still work perfectly on solid floors! When my trusty old Kenmore canister vacuum died I was bummed. It had worked well for years, and canister vacuums are hard to find. (I don't know why people prefer uprights when canisters are so much more versatile!) I took a chance on this model and am very glad I did. It works fine. Plenty of suction. Longer hose and power cord than my previous model. (comes with attachments, too) Rolls around very smoothly. And I don't have to put in earplugs when I use it, like my old model! This vacuum is the worst vacuum I have ever used. I had the Dyson upright and loved it, but when it was time to replace it we decided to try the canister, because we believed it would be more convenient. For starters, this vacuum does not have a power head, it is a suction head and so if the vacuum loses the slightest amount of suction the brush does not rotate. The hole which connects the floor attachment to the hose is slightly smaller than a marble so it constantly clogs. I have spent more time unclogging this vacuum than any other vacuum I've owned. This vacuum does not clean – it is a very expensive floor duster. We have cats so from time-to-time I will find small pieces of cat kibble on the floor – the vacuum does not pick it up. The list of things this vacuum does not pick up is seemingly endless, but here are a few examples: coffee grounds individual staples crushed egg shells, lint, small pieces of dried leaves in the fall small pieces of paper fine needles from artificial Christmas trees and garland bits of thread bits of wool dried flower petals tiny bits of mud from shoes I've tried vacuuming the cars with this vacuum, but it does not have the suction to pick up the tiny little pieces of lint that collect on the upholstery and floors. Basically, anything larger than sand or dust, this vacuum does not pick up. If you place the vacuum head right over the small item you are trying to vacuum up sometimes you will get lucky and it will pick it up, but if you vacuum up anything larger than a couple of pieces of cat food – the connection between the vacuum head and the hose gets clogged. I have had this vacuum since August 2018 and dread using it every time. I have unclogged it so many time the tip where you insert the screw driver to release the brush from the head is starting to wear. Last night I had enough of this over-priced, novelty item – I was decorating the house for Christmas and had remnants of artificial pine needles all over the floor – the vacuum clogged five times where the vacuum head attaches to the hose and twice where the hose attaches to the canister. After nearly 40 minutes of vacuuming and unclogging the vacuum, I finally dug our old $149 Canadian Tire Shark vacuum out of the storage room and had the floor clean in less than five minutes with no clogs. A $650 vacuum should at the very least be able to compete with a Canadian Tire $149 special. After the nightmare and waste of time I had last night trying to vacuum my living room – I finally had enough with this vacuum and I am dropping it off at the electronic recyclers. This was without a doubt the worst purchase I have ever made. I kept it for two years, because of the cost of it and I didn't want to throw away $650, but I literally cannot deal with this vacuum any longer. I really liked the Dyson upright – it was a bit heavy and cumbersome to use and it was very awkward to vacuum stairs, but it picked up everything I needed it to and it very, very rarely clogged. There is absolutely no comparison between the canister and the upright! I have called customer service and did all the trouble shooting tips, I washed the filter and then bought a replacement filter when that failed. If you have to vacuum more than dust from your floors – do not buy this vacuum. If you are insistent on purchasing a Dyson vacuum – go with the upright!NatalieF

This vacuum makes other vacuumes seem like garbage created in back alleys by neanderthals that started a vacuum business, like they're lies an imitation of vacuum technology. Stop wasting your money on hundred and something dollar vacuums every year or two and hating them the whole time as they don't really clean your floor cuz their suction never really sucked and you sit on the floor and unclog them all the time. Just buy this vacuum! they have a 14 day full refund return policy if you don't feel it is superior enough to be worth its price tag believe me it is. Check on price match. if it's not on sale haven't seen it for more than $100 off. Might think it's crazy to spend so much but it's that much better the other ones are crap made by tricky robbers. Sure it is an investment but you will be so blown away by the quality of how well it works I bet you won't return it and you'll see it as an investment because you know how the other ones just break so might as well invest and have it last for 5 years and enjoy your vacuuming experience. It looks like it's kind of big in the picture but it's not it's nice and Compact but has a big enough canister and it's got handles where it should and slots for everything and all the attachments you would need without going overboard secure don't fall off when you're not using them which has happened with the attachments on other vacuums quite annoying. I mean you will want to vacuum more if you have this vacuum you will want to clean your floor completely just to see it like clean stuff it is fun too use! It is bafflingly silent it is the quietest vacuum on the planet you could probably vacuum with this vacuum in the same room with a sleeping person and the person would not wake up. Almost forgot whenever you vacuum and you maybe vacuumed up something that might be a little larger such as a penny let's say and you know how you usually hear the penny kind of Slam around the corner is it goes in this literally doesn't Slam at all it just gets vacuumed in it doesn't sound like it's getting hit at all or damaging your vacuum in anyway which is very comforting the vacuum is doing its job not asking you to pre clean smaller items before you vacuum.Zeldarocks

I’ve had mine for three years and I love it as much as when I first got it. I have to say this works best for hardwoods or other hard flooring. I got one for my mom and her housekeeper said it hurt jar back but she used it for carpets. I wouldn’t recommend it for that. If they advertised it for wood floors I think it would have a rating of 5 stars. I have all hard flooring and it is fantastic. It basically dusts the floor with the rotary tool. It just glides behind me with little or no effort. It has so much reach. It cleans everywhere, cracks, corners, underneath the bed, ceiling fans. I can vacuum the house in no time. To me it is so much better than the stick vacs. You don’t have to hold the weight and you can do the entire house and never loose power. I would definitely recommend this for hard floors!!!LisaSt

I am a proud owner of 3 pets, which means daily cleaning up and VACUUMING. Every pet owner knows that when owning pets you have to change your vacuum cleaner every so often. So it was a time for me to get another vacuum cleaner. Let me just start off by saying that Bissel products are great, they have been around for years and they never disappoint, they always deliver great results. Therefore it is needless to say that this vacuum cleaner is amazing!!! I absolutely LOVE bagless vacuum cleaners, I have only owner a bagged vacuum cleaner once and I will never go back to owning one. It is so easy to just snap off the lid, get all the vacuumed up dirt dumped out on your trash can and be done with it. Now I have to say that I haven't had this type of a vacuum cleaner since the early 2000s but upon receiving it and trying it out I have to say that it is not too bad at all. I love the fact that this vacuum cleaner has got a self rewinding cord feature, which I LOVE in any vacuum cleaner, it is so easy to get all the cord put back up with just a push of a button and not having to wrap it up around the back base of the canister. The attachment hose from a canister to the shaft of the vacuum stick is pretty long, which allows you a pretty good stretch, about 6 feet long which is impressive. I love the suction that this vacuum cleaner offers, it's great, it picks up every drop of dog and cat hair combined effortlessly and leaves beautiful "just vacuumed " Mark's on the carpets. I appreciate the fact that every single filter inside the canister is washable therefore I can easily wash them whenever is necessary, dry them out and keep using them on my day to day basis. The vacuum cleaner also allows swivel steering which is , I feel like, a must in a ny household. The only thing that I really wish was different about this product is the actual canister. I wish it was larger a bit. It is a little bit smaller than any other vacuum cleaner that I have ever owned, which means it will not hold up as much dirt and I will have to empty it out more frequently. I love my new vacuum. Love the handle that extends so I don't have to bend so much, easier on my back. It sure does an excellent job of picking up dirt. I also love my glider that I have used with my steam mop. Overall, I am very satisfied, I received my vacuum the day after I ordered and the glider a few days later. My only regret is that I ordered after receiving an email welcoming me and thanking me for joining the Bissell community and offering me a coupon code for 15% off my next purchase. I clicked on the "shop now" option to order my vacuum and glider but did not feel "welcomed" at all as after a few attempts of trying to apply my coupon code (W2-LNMA-OQHZ-2D7W-WSMH) at checkout, it was not accepted. The Bissell vacuum came beautifully and safely packaged so that no parts were damaged. The parts were easy to unpack and intuitively assembled even without reference to the directions. There were no extra wires to hook up to power the attachments. The first test was on a throw rug frequented by dogs and human traffic. With little effort, the vacuum cleaned the rug with a minimum of repeat vacuuming, as evidenced by the fact that when the rug was shaken and no grit, gravel or hair fell out of this once very dirty rug. The second test was on engineered wood floors and linoleum, where the vacuum performed with the same efficiency, picking up crumbs, grit, dust, and bits of adhesive material from paint scraping. The only item that the vacuum did not handle well were slightly heavier pieces such as small nails and screws. The third test was with an attachment to clean window sills, which it did admirably, as well as curtains, ledges and corners. You just have to remember to turn the power back on when you reattach the floor attachment. The canister was lighter and portable, either to carry or roll on the wheels, which also came apart for cleaning. The power cord was long, with orange and red marks to indicate when the cord is fully extended. The retraction feature was helpful although you have to turn the vacuum off to use it. At the end of the testing, I was able to completely disassemble the canister to empty the dirt, clean the filters, and clean the canister. Be sure to open it over a trash can, because dirt fell out immediately. The canister was easy to clean with water and reassemble for the next use. The only drawback was that human hair wrapped around the rollers and had to be cut to remove. Overall, this vacuum was the most versatile and effective vacuum that I have used.LaRanchera

I have always used a canister vacuum, when my last vacuum became unrepairable I purchased the dyson canister. The dyson canister vacuum is super heavy, particularly if you have stairs to carry it up in your house. The power head handle is retractable for better storage, but it won’t stand up on its own. You are constantly bending over to pick up the handle. The power head for carpets doesn’t have a release button on it, you have to bend over and remove it yourself. The canister gets caught on literally every corner, it always tips over due to it only have 1 wheel on the front. The retractable cord only retracts half the time and does so at the speed of a snail. Most times I have to bend over and guide the cord. The power head works only selectively. It will quit working randomly while vacuuming carpet, sometimes I can’t get it to start working again. I will never buy a dyson canister vacuum again. I will try the stick vacuum only because the canister vacuum has good suction.summer12

I purchased this vacuum back in Jan and decided to use it a few months before writing a review. This is my first dyson (I do own a stick dyson, but use it more for quick jobs) and im not sold on it at all, nor will I purchase another. This is not made for carpets in my opinion, and is really just for hard floors. The carpet piece isn't great at all, has stopped working on me, or doesn't pick up until you've gone over it many times. Also pet hair sticks to this vacuum alot and I find myself vacuuming my vacuum off. I would not recommend this vacuum unless it's just for hard floors, and for the price I paid $499, I could have gotten something with a proper beater bar and that actually works well on all floors.RC87

Did some research before this purchase, and I am concerned on the battery life. Therefore, I recently purchased this vacuum instead of the cordless ones. Design is nice and stylish with all tools. Nonetheless, I am a bit disappointed on a few things on this product. The main reasons I picked this model are "No bags to buy. No filters to wash or replace, and no loss in suction", and "no need to touch the dirt, the hygienic bin emptying system drives out dust and debris in one action, so you don't have to touch it". As a result, i would rather pay a couple more hundreds for it instead of the other models in the market. However, I used this machine twice and it is kind of disappointing. The design is cool, and it kind of drives it out in one action, but not completely. some dust or debris still to the filter or tip. And the other thing is that it is kind of hard to close it after shooting/driving it out. I needed to try a few times in order to close it and make a mess on my foot and floor. This is not something i would have expected. and i am not sure if the lock is durable/will last. The suction is good, but from my experience, it requires emptying the bin after vacuuming one or two room or so to keep the suction going (even though the dust has not even reached the "max line" yet) lastly, this machine comes with a few tools, which is nice. It is rather easy to clip it on and off and can use different tools on different floors or areas. I am not sure if there is some defect in my machine. I noticed that after using the "quick-release combination tool" and the turbine head, it seems to have some dust on it and I had to wipe it after use. I am not sure if there is some gap in between the "joints" of the tools or it is due to other reason. I may have to go for an exchange or return.Rick

Works like a champ. I have hardwoods, rugs, carpet, and tile throughout current home and it switches seamlessly between all three without having to change the device. Has been a life saver with hardwood floors and no longer having to waste 45+minutes/day sweeping to only have a ton of doggo hair left behind- 20mins and all surfaces are clean af! This is the second Miele HEPA vacuum cleaner we have owned. This is a replacement for a 20 year old model that was working as new but was destroyed in hurricane Irma. This new model has the powered rotating head where the old one used the suction from the vacuum to power the head. That makes this new model more powerful for cleaning longer shag rugs. We never had anything but short pile until recently so the old one worked just fine for us then. The new model’s Head is heavier than the old model but moves relatively easy, if the height adjustment is set correctly. If it is set too low, the head pulls forward to much, as is expected. When adjusted correctly it works just perfectly.JP

The touchless vacuum is absolutely terrific at picking up whatever dirt or debris you sweep near it. You can choose to put it on automatic mode, where it will pick up anything that comes close to it, or you can put it on manual mode, where you push a button near the floor to pick up what you have swept close to it. It has great suction & picks up everything quickly & efficiently. When you have filled the inside section that holds all the debris, you just easily pull it out, dump it, & put it back. It takes several weeks of cleaning the house to fill up this internal debris holding section of the vacuum. I am very impressed with this vacuum, cleaning has never been so easy!Beth

I purchased the EyeVac Pro because I don't need a full size vacuum for my studio apartment. I have hardwood floors and thought that this product would be ideal for the daily sweeps of random hair, dust, etc. The EyeVac has great suction, however, when you sweep hair, random particles like string, etc does not get deposited into the container, instead it gets stuck in the filter. After a few sessions the suction is gone. Don't mistake this for large amounts of particles, I am very tidy and live alone. So it is just the random particles that are brought into the apt on a daily basis. I am not a person that returns used items, but, in this case, I returned the item after a few months of giving it a good try. QVC was very gracious to accept the return and credit my account.JovialGina

I wasn't sure about this, but returns to my local BBB store are straightforward so I decided to give it a shot. We have dogs (so clean up hair constantly). I had read that some newly constructed home have these built into the kick spaces or walls. I set it up in my laundry room, it works great ! It is ideal if you use swiffers or other similar things, which never get up all of the debris on the floor. I steer the swiffer to the eye-vac and POOF ! Sometimes I just steer a few wads of dog hair to it with my foot… it has become my favorite cleaning tool.Rocky's Mom

This Kenmore vacuum is a piece of Junk. I would give it zero stars but that is not an option. We had a Kenmore vacuum that was awesome for 20 years before it finally died. We thought we could buy the Kenmore BC4026 as a replacement. Wrong. The vacuum has been redesigned with none of the utility of our previous vacuum. The BC4026 is bulky and heavy making it difficult to get in tight to reach places. The end of the wand has a huge locking mechanism for attachments, which makes it impossible to vacuum along baseboards. I used our old Kenmore to vacuum the car interior, but the BC4026's handle is huge which makes it cumbersome to reach tight car interior spaces. Also, the hose swivel that attaches to the vacuum is not the L-shaped fitting shown on the box, so it does not swivel and keep a low profile like it should. This make maneuvering and storage of the vacuum difficult. They have plastic fittings on the BC4026's telescoping wand that make it difficult to extend. The old design was much better. Our old Kenmore vacuum was smaller and more streamlined with the same vacuum power making it more functional and a better design than the BC4026. Bottom line is that the BC4026 was not designed for its intended purpose of being a household vacuum.Michael

Overall this is a decent canister vacuum but the motorized vacuum head is of an ackward design. In order to vacuum more than a foot under furniture, you have to get down on your knees and move the motorized head in arcs left and right; the joint at which it attaches to the control handle prevents it from moving straight ahead without tilting up so that the agitator and suction end no longer makes contact with the carpet. If you move it to the left, the head may detach due to a poorly designed release lever on the left side; designed to make it easy to remove with your foot but making vacuuming under a bed a long and difficult process to get full coverage. I found myself having to reach repeatedly under the bed to retrieve the disconnected head. I was able to modify that release lever slightly by tightening the screw that attaches it but it is still an arduous task to vacuum under a bed; which was the main reason we bought a canister vacuum! You have to sweep in arcs and make sure you get coverage. This would be difficult for someone who has trouble laying down on their knees, pitching themselves forward and moving the wand back and forth in arcs. On the plus side, the "pet" motorized head is great for vacuuming carpeted stairs; no pet required to make good use of it.Jeffrey

I bought this machine a few weeks ago to replace a Miele' Cat and Dog' vacuum cleaner I had for years. I only use a larger vacuum cleaner to vacuum once per week to do the while house, then I use my hand held vacuum for interim maintenance ! I just wanted just a good workhorse with few frills. I also don't have pets so and my children are older and less messy so thought I didn't need the more expensive version again Unfortunately this cleaner is too heavy for me to easily use. When hoovering carpets the forward motion is fine but it is very difficult to pull the head back towards you except when the machine is in the lowest suction setting – which then doesn't then pick up everything from the carpets. It is easy to use on wood and tile floors – but since most of my house is carpeted that is a problem. I asked my 22 year old rugby playing son to vacume our house and he described the activity as 'having a good workout'!Siobhan

I bought this to replace an older model that had worked well for many years but the motor had failed. The plus points are the price and the light weight. But in other respects it is a poor replacement for its predecessor. I found the connectors for joining the various bits together do not glide smoothly, so it is all quite stiff and difficult to put together and take apart. It was so stiff that I only realised that the suction tube was telescopic when I read it in the instruction manual. Luckily parts were interchangeable with my old model so I've switched back using parts from my original which has given me more flexibility. Also, on both this model and another model I tried, the suction on the main floor attachment is so strong that it is really hard to push across carpets, even on low settings. The final thing is that the attachments do not store neatly in the body of the cleaner but are stored separately so the whole thing is a lot messier to store and more complicated to carry around. It generally has a bit of a cheap plastic sort of feel to it.Deedee5

Perfect vacuum cleaner, easy and light to move around. It is a bit bulky and the length of the plug could be a bit longer, but I am still very happy with it overall. My previous vacuum (different brand) was much more expensive and was difficult/tiring to manoeuvre. I have added a "Turbo Dust Interceptor" (dust is diverted into a tube for easy disposal and saves space in the bag) and it works perfectly well!Paige

Oh my goodness. I've been a housewife for nearly 30 years and I've spent countless hours vacuuming my home. I have never loved a vacuum before….EVER. This new Miele is a magnificent machine. First of all it's beautiful. It is designed so well. Every part clicks into place with such easy precision. Every part is very easily accessible and well made. The controls on the handles are genius. Pure genius. And performance?? WOW. Its quiet. There is NO smell or odor or dust when I vacuum!! I didn't realize all of these years how much my past vacuums put out dirt,dust,smells…YUCK! I'm 52 years old and I can vividly remember the smell that would come from our very expensive Kirby vacuum from my childhood. It always smelled like our dog….ewww! I'm so happy with my Miele that I have yet to put it away! I've used it everyday since it arrived and I love to just look at it! The retractable cord works seamlessly. The wand holders on the unit are fabulous. The power head brings tears to my eyes…..all of the choices for power level and height are wonderful. My home is 95% wood floors and we have many area rugs. I used to hate having to use different vacuums to clean either the wood floors or the rugs. Now my problem is solved. Instead of dreading vacuuming I'm delighted to plug in my miele!!!jewelrymama

It’s a transition for me to not see what I’ve picked up and wait for an indicator light to tell me when to change the bag, but I look forward to it! I previously had a bagless canister with another maker. The cord on this one practically gets me through my house. I was surprised how long it is. I was excited about the light, but it’s not what I expected because the light I needed was for the hard floors and it is only on the carpet attachment. Don’t get me wrong, as I love this vacuum! This is by far the very best vacuum I have ever owned and I suspect I will not have to buy another one again. The Uniq not only has strong suction, it also has suction control which allows me to fine tune the suction based on what I am cleaning. This vacuum is extremely quiet, so much so that I can use it in the early morning and not wake up my children. The bags are large and go a long way. Lots of finger tip controls and height adjustments for the big power head. It really does make my life easier when using this vacuum. I feel spoiled by my Miele UniQ but I am worth it.Elsa

I love canister vacuums so this is why I chose this model. I only have two oriental area rugs and the rest of my house is hardwood. This machine cleans both-You simply manually switch on the foot of the floor nozzle. Things I love: The filter system makes your house smell great! The suction is very powerful and there is a way to reduce it on the handle As you are vacuuming or on the canister in advance. The easy emptying dirt tank. Easy to rinse filters. Super long RETRACTABLE power cord. The handle has an ATTACHED dusting brush. Metal, very long extension wand. Things that would be nice: less heavy canister; a more detailed instruction booklet ( I figured out On my own I could reduce suction on the handle, And no explanation on how often you rinse filters). An on off switch on handle would be a great addition! Also my handle does not click into the extension wand as described in the user guide. I assume this is to make it easier to switch to dusting.Gail

I love the power of this vacuum and the extended wand. We have 10ft. ceilings and it helps get cobwebs. However, the cheap lightweight head is frustrating to use. The wand clip that allows you to adjust the reach broke after 6 months. I long for the days of the metal vacuums with heavy rubber head with brush!MamaTaxi59

This is the only vacuum that picks up my dog’s hair on the first pass. We have a Dalmatian with all the short white hairs. Vac is quiet. Half as loud as my prior upright Oreck. Vac is also appropriately sized and rolls well enough; wheels could be a little smoother. I appreciate that I can store it flat or tipped standing up in my closet. Customer service was excellent and responded quickly- videos are helpful and when I still had questions they helped immediately via email. Nice that this vacuum seems sturdy and has some metal parts. Agree w others that it is hard to detach the power carpet head in order to put the bare floor attachment on. It is a very snug detach. Sometimes I just turn the power head off and vacuum all surfaces that way. The different suction levels are appreciated for all the little kitchen rugs and works well for different pile heights of my larger 8’x10’ rugs. I vacuum very frequently due to the dog hair and this has solved my area rug and bare floor needs. Appreciate the extra hidden tools that were included under the ‘hatch. I ordered extra bags separately; I couldn’t tell in advertising info if vac came with any/or how many. Vac arrived in lge box, well packed and protected, with instruction sheet and video links. 😊 Vac came with one bag installed already plus an extra. And HEPA filter already installed of course. I’ve done a lot of research and shopping looking for a vacuum that could keep up with my 3300 square-foot house and my never ending shedding fur babies. I’ve had at least four, across 3 well known brands, none of which stood up to the test. I came across this particular vacuum ( Prolux TerraVac ) and said OK I’ll try this. WOW, not only was I able to vacuum in half the time, it also picked up all of the pet hair under the coffee table and dining room table. I am so pleased and amazed with the features that this vacuum comes with. The versatility of this vacuum is amazing. The suction power is awesome – I love the fact that I’m able to move from carpet to hardwood without bending down and changing the settings. I simply just press the button on the sweeper with my foot and that’s it. The attachment for pet hair (OMG) Is like no other. I was able to do two flights of stairs in under five minutes. Normally it would take me 10 to 20 minutes. I will also mention how quiet it is. Compared to the other vacuums that are out there this vacuum is quiet. I am happy to say I am very pleased with his vacuum. If you tried many vacuums to no avail give this one a try you won’t regret it.Henry78

This is my second Prolux vacuum and a disappointment. First, to sing its praises, it has great suction and attacks any and all dust bunnies and dog hair, which is what you want in a quality vacuum. BUT, the attachments are extremely difficult to trade out. It's a struggle changing them. Even my husband, who has a lot more arm muscle, has difficultly. The hose, admittedly on the shorter side, is very "stiff" making maneuvering the vacuum a struggle. Vacuuming has never been a favorite pastime so whatever can make it easier is welcome. I now find myself doing a double groan when it's time to use it. I've actually thought of exploring a hose replacement but maybe it comes down to finding another vacuum (only purchased this past fall!)L.U.

Moved from Sweden to US a few months ago and was annoyed with the traditional vacuum cleaner we had here, having having to maneuver a heavy and loud motor and not being able to reach underneath furniture. Was driving me crazy and it felt like it was blowing out more dust than it picked up. The Tritan vacuum is very efficient and I was actually surprised by the high quality and power of the motor considering this is not a very expensive machine. It really does the job and with the included attachments it works for any cleaning need. The only downside to it is that I would have liked the electric cord to be a bit longer for better range, but it works well anyway. Many years ago there was a Swedish brand of Vacuum cleaners called "Elektrolux" and they had a slogan "Nothing sucks like an Elektrolux". I would change that now to "Nothing sucks like a Prolux". 🙂Anthony76

I really wanted to love this vacuum, but will have to return it, in spite of the suction being awesome. The suction is as good or better than my Shark vacuums. I needed a good HEPA canister vacuum that would work well on my hard surface floors, window shades/blinds and walls/ceilings. I was disappointed to find that even though there is a HEPA filter, the bags are not HEPA bags. I haven't determined, yet,if the vacuum is sealed well enough, to avoid dispersing dust back into the room. Additionally, the bristles on the hard floor brush are so stiff and scratchy, I am reluctant to use it on my hardwood floors. Unfortunately, none of my better attachments, from my previous vacuums, fit the Tritan. I need to be able to vacuum my walls and ceilings, but the floor brush is not suitable for that either. I would like to be able to comfortably (and safely) vacuum the tops of door frames and window shades and blinds, without using the extension tube. But , the stiff hose does not stretch and is too short to directly attach the dust brush and reach overhead, to the top of my door frames. Back to the drawing board for me, as the Tritan Canister is just not suitable for my needs.C.B.

I am 69 years old, so believe me when I tell you I have had many vacuum cleaners in my life, from a Kirby to a Miele to the less expensive uprights that just don't last. When I moved and left behind my latest upright as a gift to the buyer of my house, I had to find a new vacuum. One that would last. One that could suck up dog hair from my Australian Shepherd. One that was maneuverable and could also clean my truck's interior. When I saw the ad for the Prolux Triton I was taken by how absolutely cute it is. I love its retro looks, like a 50's space ship with chrome and a sleek shape. I love the design of the retractable cord, its maneuverability and the very very powerful motor. I now have a restored vintage house (circa 1900) which requires a strong machine to eliminate dust. I am very pleased with my Prolux Triton!!Vicki
