Oh my goodness. I've been a housewife for nearly 30 years and I've spent countless hours vacuuming my home. I have never loved a vacuum before….EVER. This new Miele is a magnificent machine. First of all it's beautiful. It is designed so well. Every part clicks into place with such easy precision. Every part is very easily accessible and well made. The controls on the handles are genius. Pure genius. And performance?? WOW. Its quiet. There is NO smell or odor or dust when I vacuum!! I didn't realize all of these years how much my past vacuums put out dirt,dust,smells…YUCK! I'm 52 years old and I can vividly remember the smell that would come from our very expensive Kirby vacuum from my childhood. It always smelled like our dog….ewww! I'm so happy with my Miele that I have yet to put it away! I've used it everyday since it arrived and I love to just look at it! The retractable cord works seamlessly. The wand holders on the unit are fabulous. The power head brings tears to my eyes…..all of the choices for power level and height are wonderful. My home is 95% wood floors and we have many area rugs. It’s a transition for me to not see what I’ve picked up and wait for an indicator light to tell me when to change the bag, but I look forward to it! I previously had a bagless canister with another maker. The cord on this one practically gets me through my house. I was surprised how long it is. I was excited about the light, but it’s not what I expected because the light I needed was for the hard floors and it is only on the carpet attachment. Don’t get me wrong, as I love this vacuum! This is by far the very best vacuum I have ever owned and I suspect I will not have to buy another one again. The Uniq not only has strong suction, it also has suction control which allows me to fine tune the suction based on what I am cleaning. This vacuum is extremely quiet, so much so that I can use it in the early morning and not wake up my children. The bags are large and go a long way. The touchless vacuum is absolutely terrific at picking up whatever dirt or debris you sweep near it. You can choose to put it on automatic mode, where it will pick up anything that comes close to it, or you can put it on manual mode, where you push a button near the floor to pick up what you have swept close to it. It has great suction & picks up everything quickly & efficiently. When you have filled the inside section that holds all the debris, you just easily pull it out, dump it, & put it back. It takes several weeks of cleaning the house to fill up this internal debris holding section of the vacuum. I am very impressed with this vacuum, cleaning has never been so easy!Beth
I purchased the EyeVac Pro because I don't need a full size vacuum for my studio apartment. I have hardwood floors and thought that this product would be ideal for the daily sweeps of random hair, dust, etc. The EyeVac has great suction, however, when you sweep hair, random particles like string, etc does not get deposited into the container, instead it gets stuck in the filter. After a few sessions the suction is gone. Don't mistake this for large amounts of particles, I am very tidy and live alone. So it is just the random particles that are brought into the apt on a daily basis. I am not a person that returns used items, but, in this case, I returned the item after a few months of giving it a good try. I had read that some newly constructed home have these built into the kick spaces or walls. I set it up in my laundry room, it works great ! I liked using my new vacuum and had no problem with it being bagless, but the extension cord would keep rewinding once the motor got warm. I was insulted when sent a email from Prolux that I needed to clean the canister to get optimized performance and the machine was overheating because I wasn't keeping the canister cleaned out. Oh, but I was! I was caring for the vacuum after reading all the instructions for best use and the canister wasn't even full but I'd clean it out before putting it away…then there was no suction (even with a newly cleaned canister). We took the hose off and was finding that the arc of the handle was gathering dirt and not carrying it out. Too much hassle so I got a refund.Bette W.
Pros: went together quite easily (I did read the manual) So far it has great suction, and easy to clean. Picks up pet hair really well, there was a lot of fine dust in the dust/dirt container when I emptied it out, so that is a good thing. Three cats and 2 labs in my house, and they are all inside/outside critters. The power head works well. I had read that people have issues with it tipping over. Didn't happen to me, and moves around easily. All the parts fit right into place, no gaps, nothing hard to pull apart. I really like that it is bagless. Cons; The box was quite broken up when it arrived, guess that is the delivery peoples fault. There were two broken pieces, one being the on board tool caddy for storage of the attachments (I don't believe that could have happened in shipping), one other broken piece of plastic, that came from somewhere, still trying to figure out what it goes to. The tank itself has a big dent in it ( it being plastic guess it's a manufacturing issue). The long floor attachment came with a long flat rubber insert for something (the schematics don't show where it goes). The crevice tool is quite puny. I had just assumed (my fault) that the power head would have a height adjustment. I had been using a Kenmore Canister for 20 years. So in order to vacuum carpet runners (7 feet long) I have to put a chair on the end or have one of the dogs sit on it, so it doesn't get sucked up. I guess that is a good thing that it has such good suction, better more than less. So far so good, I have not found the noise level that loud, my Kenmore was a lot louder. I have not used the furniture/stair attachment so won't comment on it. It does generate quite a bit of static when in use I guess a little shock now and then isn't that big of a deal. I did not rate the Durability or value for the money, because I don't have a crystal ball saying how long this vacuum will last. This machine cleans both-You simply manually switch on the foot of the floor nozzle. Things I love: The filter system makes your house smell great! The suction is very powerful and there is a way to reduce it on the handle As you are vacuuming or on the canister in advance. The easy emptying dirt tank. Easy to rinse filters. Super long RETRACTABLE power cord. The handle has an ATTACHED dusting brush. Metal, very long extension wand. Things that would be nice: less heavy canister; a more detailed instruction booklet ( I figured out On my own I could reduce suction on the handle, And no explanation on how often you rinse filters). An on off switch on handle would be a great addition! Also my handle does not click into the extension wand as described in the user guide. I love the power of this vacuum and the extended wand. We have 10ft. ceilings and it helps get cobwebs. However, the cheap lightweight head is frustrating to use. This vacuum comes with some extra filters which is great and has a very , very long power cord which is really good. Powerful enough on low pile carpet and flooring, plus its so easy to keep clean being able to wash and reuse all the filters. Even the shroud can be washed which means much less dust to build up inside the vacuum. Very light weight for stairs and very maneuverable. Also, pretty quiet and so easy to switch vacuuming from carpet to floor and back to carpet as I vacuum my home.

I have a medium/small house composed entirely of low pile carpet and hard tile. The biggest reason I went for this vacuum was the improved suction on hard surfaces, as I had a cheaper vacuum that would simply scatter dirt around. It definitely cleans both surfaces very thoroughly and makes cleaning the tile so much easier. I was also surprised at how quiet it is, not as loud as my old canister Bissel, even at maximum suction. One complaint I have is that the head can be difficult to push on carpet, I think it would be much easier with some wheels on the head.Max
Replaced 15 yo Miele vacuum. Lighter than previous one and quieter, though not as light and as quiet as I was hoping for. Cord sadly shorter than previous one but vacuum maneuvering way easier (rolls way better). I like the smallest body as well. Excellent sucking and power, but brush is not very large (more work) and rolls funny (not smooth). I have my older large brush that I will use instead but think it’s unfortunate that a vacuum meant to be top notch provides such a small brush. On another positive side, that brush works wonderfully on carpet, which makes it great. So, overall this vacuum provides an excellent cleaning, with an easy maneuvering and not too noisy operation. I think it could get a more modern and convenient design with longer power cord, and a more substantial main brush (I know, we can always buy another model).
All the good reviews are so TRUE. After many low quality vacs like the Dyson, etc, I finally got wise and bought a Miele. My first one I bought over 5 years ago and is still going strong like day 1. I bought a second one a few months ago (I'm a clean freak) and this one is equally fantastic. You just cannot beat Miele quality. I call her "Mia" because she's cute and follows you around like a little puppy. This baby could suck the grout out from between your tiles so you won't EVER worry about having enough suction. I own a navigator, which is okay for a quick job, but it was very lacking in many areas. So, I decided to try this bagless canister vacuum because it had the highest rating in a consumer products magazine. I read some of the negative reviews online (oddly enough, on kenmores own website) and had second thoughts, so I cancelled the order an hour later, but for some reason the vacuum showed up at my door anyway (only a few days for shipping – surprisingly fast). I decided to keep it, and I am VERY glad I did. This vacuum does what my upright cannot do. It has motorized brushes (separate motors for vacuum base, powerhead, and small powerhead), that work REALLY well; And, also, the metal handle is great for attaching the crevice tool and getting all the places the upright won't get (which I run along the crevice where the base molding and carpet meet.), I also used it to clean the dust off my ventilation covers…which really needed it…and they look nice and clean now). Canister vacuums are more difficult to use, but there is no comparison on how well they work, and how versatile they are. I have both types, but if I only could have one, I'd definitely get the canister vacuum. Although I haven't owned it long, this vacuum has already exceeded my expectations. Some people complained online about motor failures, so I bought the 3-yr replacement protection plan. Others complained about the canister size, but its large enough. The dust is driven so fast in the canister it compresses it to one side…yet the airflow is perfectly fine…it works great! I was thinking about getting a bagged vacuum, but I am glad I didn't…bagless is the way to go! I really like the power button on the handle too, it makes it real easy to turn on/off, and it slides between 3 settings [off; bare floor (brush is off), or carpet (brush on)]. If you are having second thoughts about this because of other people's negative reviews on this particular site, do not let them discourage you…this vacuum is GREAT (the magazine is correct…it deserves the highest of ratings)! It also has a brush attachment for the wand/handle, which will allow you to clean the carpets of your car! (I haven't used it yet, but I already know it will work great…because it has good suction). Anyway, I hope this review helps some people in their decision making. All I can say is that this is a great vacuum, and you will not be disappointed. This vacuum puts the navigator to shame!
This vacuum has very good suction and is relatively easy to use on carpets and bare floors and empty the bin after cleaning. It is on the heavy side if you are carrying it up and down stairs. Also poor design for the 2 attachments on the wand. Frequently, the brush will fall off because it's easy to hit them on something while cleaning. Doesn't take much for the brush to come off. Handy having them there but not all that user friendly. Also should come with a standard bare floor attachment-had to buy one separately-should be standard. All in all, this is a good product–bought one for myself a couple of years ago and then for my son for Christmas this year.Jill
Two weird things happened the first and second time I used this vacuum. First, we have a fringe on the edge of our area rug, and when it caught, I pulled it back (probably should have switched it off with the easily accessible button that is literally right at your fingertips) and the carpet roller piece stopped working. I was a bit perplexed, but checked the manual for how to reset it by hitting a single button. Second, when the canister fills up, it makes a weird noise. I can't really describe it, but it started making this weird noise, and I thought, huh, maybe it needs to be emptied. Problem solved. Seriously with the ease of problem solving for my user error issues, this vacuum has already lived up to everything people say they love about kenmore vacs, and I am glad I sprung for the one with more features. Could not be happier with this purchase.

I have back issues and cannot lift anything of any kind of weight so I bought this vacuum to keep on my first floor so I don’t have to lug my other vacuum (a Kenmore Progressive) up and down the stairs. I have hardwood looking laminate floors throughout and a very low pile rug in my husband’s office. I also have a couple of area rugs in my TV room. I didn’t need anything super heavy duty and I’ve always preferred canister type vacuums over uprights. I also didn’t want to spend a ton of money, but I wanted something of decent quality. I had seen another Kenmore model while shopping with a friend at BJs a while back; it was about $50 more and a Series 600, I think. I don’t have a BJs membership and I didn’t want to bother my friend so I started searching online and found this particular vacuum. I read the reviews and most were pretty good so I decided to give it a try. The biggest complaints that I read were that people prefer having the on/off switch on the handle rather than the canister itself and a number of people complained that the hardwood floor attachment is on the small side. One other complaint was that there is no place to store the attachments…the hardwood floor attachment fits into a spot on the topside of the canister, but there’s no place for the other 3-in-one piece. None of this bothers me at all. Having the on/off switch on the canister just takes a little getting used to. My other vacuum I had downstairs, which was a GE had the same setup. The smaller hardwood floor attachment is actually kind of nice; it fits more easily in between things without having to move furniture. As far as the other attachments, I just store them on the shelf in the closet where I keep the vacuum. It has great suction power and it’s very easy to switch from the hardwood attachment to the beater head when doing carpeting. I had my husband bring it upstairs where I have 3 bedrooms with wall-to-wall carpeting so I could try it out on higher pile carpeting…itworked great. My kitchen, living room and 4th bedroom are hardwood and it picked up everything. If you don’t have a lot of carpet, I would highly recommend this vacuum. For $199 it’s definitely worth it. It worked well on my carpeting, but given that it’s a lower series model I don’t know how well it would hold up to weekly vacuuming on a high pile carpet. This vacuum is exactly what I was looking for and I’m very happy with my purchase. My only complaint is the color…it’s very purple!CindyM
I am really impressed with how the vacuum head worked on the hard floor. We have dark hardwood floors throughout our home and 5 furry pets that drop hair at record rates! It is very easy to see if a vacuum cleaner is doing it's job well. We are very impressed with how well this vacuum picks up dust and hair. I have to tell you my favorite feature on this vacuum cleaner is the foot operated release for the vacuum head. This vacuum design is very well thought out. I like that I can just step on it and release the head so I can vacuum a smaller area or vacuum something that doesn't require the head. Because the power to the head is a direct plug through the tube you don't have to reach down and unplug the power to the head by hand. You can release it with your foot, vacuum the area and then plug it back in without missing a beat. It is really convenient and intuitive on how a person actually vacuums. Another thing I like is the canister doesn't turn over when you pull it with the hose. I have had multiple canister vacuum cleaners over the years and my number one aggravation with them is they roll over if you pull them from an angle or the side. This vacuum doesn't do that! It just turns easily and follows you. I love that! Finally, I like that there is a slot to slide the hose/tube/head into when you store the vacuum cleaner. Traditionally canister vacuum cleaners are kind of a pain to put away and store. The Kenmore canister bagged vacuum 200 series is a very nice addition to clean your home. Assembly is very easy, and can be put together in 5 minutes or less. The vacuum includes a floor brush that can be stored on the canister of the vacuum and a 3 in 1 combination tool to clean nooks and furniture. I love that the vacuum comes with an easy adjustable switch to slide on the handle from floors to carpet. The handle extends so that tall people will not have to hunch over cleaning their floors. The power cord is retractable by pressing a cord rewind button. There is a suction control dial as well that allows you to change vacuum cleaner suction for varied fabrics and carpets. The vacuum also has the possibility of conserving storage space if desired. If you store the canister upright you can slide the lower wand into a U shaped storage hook. It does work great. The power cord is very long so you don't have to change multiple outlets to vacuum your home. The quick release button to transition from each attachment requires little effort. I have owned one for 17 years and it has been the best cleaning tool I have ever owned. I have used it in so many cleaning scenarios including vacuuming up major ant infestations many times. my mother has one she bought from a professional vacuum store and it worked great actually beyond great it was awesome. so much I went to amazon to see if they sold it and yes they did. I had it in just a few days. well to my surprise it was not the same product. JUST the hose part is different everything else is the same. the hose that was sent to me is a very hard plastic hose which makes it hard to maneuver. i was not happy that they changed the hose to this new hard plastic. My Review of Vacuum: First thing to know is that our household has 5 Dogs and 3 Cats. So you can imagine the amount of pet hair we have to deal with all the time. Now, the setup of the vacuum was very easy, and the options to choose from are Brilliant. There are Attachments for every vacuum job in the house. Then, there are 6 – Types of Suction to choose from. The revolving brushes do an incredible job of separating each strand of rug. This allows the vacuum to remove stubborn pet hair easily. One of my Favourite things about the vacuum is the level of the sound it creates, is good and Quiet. The room I had decided to run my test with was the one with the worst amount of hair. No other vacuum I had owned in my 50 years of life was ever able to remove the deeper hair from within that room. This vacuum, not only removed all the pet hair, but I only needed to the one Dust Bag. I had forgotten how nice that rug was, and now it is very clean and elegant once again. All of the pet hair on our couch and chairs were removed with ease. I have never had any actual judgment for any of my prior vacuums before, but this one I take pleasure in using it; I think highly of the options for each different job. There are no jobs that it can not do. I don’t even have to change Attachments to go onto the next room which is Hardwood Flooring, as the options for the rotating brushes are easily turned off. Also, the convenient compact size allowed for easy movement to each room. Over all I can no longer see myself without this vacuum in my life. I had an upright Miele for 10 years and it finally died. Since they do not make uprights any longer, I purchased this with some hesitation. I purchased used, so I expected some wear and dirt, but this thing was filthy. There were no bags (one bag wouldve been nice). I had to use a shop vac to clean the inside of the canister because it looked like a bag exploded in there. Then, I had make a trip to a specialty vacuum store to buy bags. Now, once that was all over, I have to say those Germans know whats up. This is the best vacuum Ive ever owned. I bought this to replace an almost 20 year old Oreck from when Mr. Oreck owned and ran the company. It was a tall bar to clear, but the Meile exceeded expectations. Its heavy and unwieldy, but Im sure Ill get used to that. The suction and carpet fluffing are amazing and made me rethink the need for new carpets in the kids rooms. That can wait a few more years. We spent a lot of time to find this effective, low noise, affordable price vacuum cleaner with electric turbo brush. We used it only twice for now, but we are very satisfied with the quality of work. We have a dog with short black hair that is hard to clean from light color carpet. Vapamore Vento MR-500 HEPA Canister Vacuum did its job perfectly. You don't need to push hard the brush, it goes by itself. Nice vacuum cleaner. We compare it to Miele: same options, same quality for lower price.

I liked this vacuum but will warn you the hose attachment is very cheaply made. The vacuum itself has incredible suction power. Better then any hand held vacuum I have ever owned. Only positive is that it is quiet. The cannister although lightweight does not maneuver easily, Cheap plastic parts are not easily separated. Wand dented upon first use. Waste container is small and a nightmare to empty. Floorhead does not stand on its own, only stands when attached to the cannister. Cord has to be pulled out entire length to operate so many feet of cord dragging around. Needs a lot of storage room because hose is stiff and creates a large arc around the vacuum. Little rough strips are stuck on attachments. One fell off the first time I used it. Very disappointing for an expensive vacuum.Leigh

Bought 6 months ago. Have always had Kenmore canister vacs and loved them. This one has been nothing but problems. First one bought was faulty (would not push over carpet) and I returned right away. Customer service was great, they gave me a new one. Had second one for about 6 months and within that time the plastic latch that keeps bag enclosed broke completely off and you could not store the vacuum upright as the lid would keep opening. Then the wand extension broke, it would not stay at the length desired, it constantly would open to full extension while vacuuming floor when you would not want the wand that long. Then, finally, the plastic ring at the swivel head broke off. The whole thing is made of very cheap plastic that breaks easily. I returned the second one and requested to get a different Kenmore vac (a cheaper model with better reviews) but was told they would not refund me the price difference. So now I am bout to open the box of my third Kenmore elite in 6 months. A vacuum that costs almost $500 should not be made of such cheap plastic and have this many issues!
My original crossover died after 10+ years of use. I was devastated, as there are no longer any Sears stores to ship for appliances. I searched the he internet and found them on eBay!! I bought 2!! I personally hate carpet, but purchased this house 4 years ago, and although some floors are tile, and wood, there is still a considerable amount of carpet. Eventually it will be replaced, and the crossover will still work perfectly on solid floors! Couldnt be happier with my purchase I have always preferred a canister to an upright and the crossover does fabulous in both solid floors and carpet. I highly recommend this product.jaberth-77
This is the King Kong of vacuum cleaners. I have Kirby and Windsor uprights as well as Panasonic, Hoover, Singer, Eureka and Electrolux canisters, along with other modern Kenmores and a variety of vintage Kenmore vacuums. Nothing can touch this for suction and airflow. The CrossOver floor brush at first blush seems like a gimmick but it isn't. It out cleans the traditional Powermates. I can put a normal Powermate from my Progressive on the Elite and it doesn't pull up dog hair like the CrossOver brush does. The greater dept of the brush seems to leverage it into carpet better. And it is supremely quiet. It out cleans even the Kirby and is so much easier to use. Even at full power with the floor brush operating you can carry on a normal conversation over it. The detachable hard floor brush works much better than you would at first suspect and the maneuverability of the swivel neck will spoil you. My initial inclination was to dislike it but it has become a favorite to use. Did I mention that it's quiet?Compared to some high priced German and American made vacuums the Kenmore has superior attachments rather than the little kids toys other brands provide. The hoses are sturdy and don't whip around like the light, springy, cheap hoses on some higher priced machines. Wand connections are nice and solid. The new style fat wands let the motor work in it's sweet spot for suction and airflow. The Contour Brush attachment is clever and oh so useful for high shelves and ceiling fans. The Pet Powermate is the best in the business and far better than any turbo tool. It never bogs on soft upholstery and the bristles don't clog with lint and pet hair like other similar brushes. Kenmores have very large bag chambers and their cloth HEPA Q bag is reasonably priced if you buy the bag of six. Filters are likewise humanely priced. The Germans in particular overcharge for both and their dust bags are tiny.Cons? The surface finish on the lid and CrossOver brush is easy to scratch and scratches can't be polished out. The lid itself seems a little flimsy so be gentle with it. The machine has so much suction it will literally tear a paper C bag, so don't even think of using one. Stick to the cloth HEPA Q bag. The brush roll and belt are more work to access on the CrossOver brush than they are on a conventional Powermate, but no more work than some other higher priced floor brushes such as those from Aerus Lux or Wessel-Werk. It is screwed together better than a normal Powermate so that is the trade off. Did I mention it's quiet? Great vacuum. There is no reason to spend double or triple the price of the Elite just to have a fancy name on your vacuum. None of the more expensive machines will out clean it.

I have always preferred a cylinder type vacuum cleaner and the James is a great example. It’s lightweight makes it great for taking up and downstairs and it moves with great ease, these were essential factors when I came to choosing my purchase. It’s cable length makes it only necessary to use one socket. It’s fairly quiet, has great suction, useful tool attachments and I generally think it’s great value for what it offers. The only thing it doesn’t have is a retractable cable facility but the cable can still be neatly rewound and the whole unit stores away neatly enough.Sarah
James is very powerful , I am using it to replace Dyson Robot vacuum which takes long time for charge, however, work for half an hour then stop; In addition, my another vacuum with £50 and less powerful to clean my carpet appropriately. I've had Henry vacuum cleaners and been happy with them. I've had other makes too and been less than happy. I need something to suck up spilled cat litter, bits of parrot seed, the odd dog biscuit and more. The Numatic family seem to be the only ones which can do it cheaply, and reliably and last for years and years. So, I've had building work done on my home and decided to treat myself to a new vacuum cleaner, retiring my current 10 year old Henry to upstairs, for an easier life. I'm very happy with the new one. Coped well with brick dust, bits of brick, plasterboard chips, the odd nail as well as the general household stuff. There's a reason cleaning companies use Numatic vacuum cleaners and not that overpriced thing called a 'die-soon'(aptly named because they have a meltdown and die if asked to suck up anything bigger than a speck of dust). I can buy 5 Numatic vacuum cleaners for the price of one Die-soon. I got a lot of vacuum cleaner for not a lot of money, but then I've always had more sense than money 🙂whitevangran870

It's the most easy to use shop vac I've ever had . If I need to vac something up right away and get back to what I was doing before , I don't have to mess with plugging it in or adding extension cords . Going to use it for cleaning chip pan on metal lathe and T-slots on my milling table . I may have to dedicate a filter cartridge for oily metal chips due to cutting oil . I use it on my drill press for metal chips and wood chips . Makes clean up done in seconds . Have had this Vac for 2 weeks and have used it almost every day in my small shop . I would like to add an extension to the hose for a longer reach . This way you can carry the vac in one hand and vac at floor level without bending over . The hose has a decent stretch to it , it just need a little longer wand .Thinking about machining some PVC pipe to fit end of hose . If this works then thats not an issue . I purchased this unit to compliment my large Rigid wet/vac so I wouldn't have to lug that beast around for small jobs around the house and garage. Uses my existing Hercules batteries and chargers and has plenty of power. I use it with a wand extension kit I had to get into small areas my house vac doesn't reach easily, especially under and behind furniture, crevices, baseboards, crown molding (I have 10' ceilings), around toilets, and for wet spills on my wood flooring. It's lightweight and easy to handle and store. A bonus I didn't really purchase it for was the blower function. More powerful than I expected, so it does well for small areas around my garage doors and porches. I have battery and gas blower for the larger areas and yard, so it comes in handy for spot jobs.BobbG
I purchased this for my boat as I can’t use a power cord out in the middle of the lake. Suction is adequate and really cleaned up my 20 ft. Bow rider with ease. I use it in my camp to clean hard to get at areas you can’t maneuver a bigger vac. Works great in the car as well. Wish it had a crevice tool and dust brush. Purchased the 5 amp battery pack and it really works well. I had a hard time telling the difference in performance when using either plug in cord or the battery. I wanted a vacuum cleaner that didn't have a rotary brush or anything fancy just a simple brush to use for wood floors and throw rugs. I read many of the reviews. I always read some of each…there were a lot of excellent reviews but there were a few negative ones, where people said the handle for the brush wasn't long enough, there wasn't enough power and there wasn't a brush on the floor attachment. Those reviews concerned me but I decided to buy the vacuum anyway and give it a try since they were so many excellent reviews. I love this vacuum cleaner. The handle is actually very long; it comes short and then you can extend it once you unpack. The vacuum has lots of power; it comes with an adjustable setting; you can turn it to have very little power or lots of power that will suck up pens and other items on the floor. There's also a brush on on the floor attachment but you have to turn something to have it be usable. I honestly wonder if the negative reviews I read were due to those people either not being able to read the instructions or not bothering to do so. Honestly, I believe their reviews are based on ignorance. Give this vacuum a try.Slojo
The last vacuum I bought was ten years ago; a RICCAR……the cost discounted was $175 replacement parts were expensive,; hose $100 for example. When the hose went I thought I was in for $500 replacement. This a better machine than the other one as I remember. The design is nearly identical. The Riccar did have Hepa filters and bags. so far using this vacuum I have not notices a difference participles in the air etc It is comforting to know that replacement parts are available and very inexpensive compared to pricier models of any brand. After using it for for forty continuous minutes I saw it did not run hot and that was a relief. It's draw backs: excluding the main floor tool(better than the high priced Riccar) the other tools are useless.)In my case I have the old tools which work perfectly with the assembly. Wish the hose was a tad longer. I like the heavy weighted rod which adds mass so the machine will not tip and the amzing suction without using the high range of the motor. It should last along time all things being equal. I was afraid of the model disappearing so I bought a second machine with replacement kit. Just too good to pass up. Seldom can you find a product of this versatility and general quality at this price
I use my Zing for high cleaning, throw rugs, edge cleaning, and hobby type cleaning because I have 2 capable uprights for carpeting. My carpeting is low pile, which the Zing is full capable of cleaning well, but uprights are superior, and handier, at that task. Of course, only a fool would use a compact canister for deep pile carpets. Pluses: *Superior hose has swivels on both ends. *Retractable cord-high end feature. *Full bag/suction gauge-high end feature. *Variable speed/suction-high end feature. *Decent carpet/wood floor tool. *Nice extending wand, thankfully not aluminum. Better than those on high end vacuums. *Great suction. *Easy bag and filter changes. **Compact, handy, light, attractive, modest cost. Minuses: *Small bags that curl under themselves, further reducing capacity. Manufacturer includes extra bags, however. *Runs quite warm, which is to be expected from a compact unit operating at the maximum amperage allowed by law. Can be mitigated by taking breaks or using it for its designed purpose-cleaning smaller dwellings and RVs. *Cord length is modest, but appropriate for a unit designed for smaller areas. *Some tools are overly miniaturized, but may be a boon to those in tiny dwellings. **Cord end could scratch hard floors, if Zing was stood on end. I bought some spare parts based on some reviews, but operator error obviously caused those difficulties. I don't expect to need the parts. The Zing is a good value, and I enjoy using it. Anyone who says this lacks suction should hang their head in shame, and remove the obstruction, because this is a powerful vacuum. I much prefer the Zing to my mini ShopVac, although the ShopVac is made domestically. This unit is superior to the new Mighty Mites, and about equal to the older, and better, Mighty Mites. My Zing was intended to replace a tired vintage Electrolux canister with weak suction, but has also replaced the mini ShopVac. Highly recommended for small dwellings/specialized cleaning.
