Reviews:
My older PIXMA 890 was so heavy it was almost hard to lift. But sturdy and works great until the printer head gave out. This is lighter and definitely flimsier but that seems to be the norm these days. Frustrating you have to lift the panel in front to print but the print quality has been very good and it doesn’t seem as slow as my old one to process. Instant connection to my Wi-Fi and bought the XXL compatible cartridges online that have always worked great. It doesn’t hold as much paper but it’s fine for my needs. If you try to print from a snapshot on your phone it will say it does not support that you have to let it be saved as a photo and then print it. I like canon for photos (printing of photos is one of the test they have you do when setting up) and the quality on my Matte paper was good. It is what it is, good enough without breaking the bank with their $800 ones and therefore I will keep it.Katwoman
Printer quality is excellent and feels sturdy. Wish that it came in a different color (white would've been nice imo), but otherwise this printer was lovely for the most part — easy to set up, easy to use, the dual input trays makes it super convenient to print on plain paper and specialty paper, and while I had no need for the copy/fax functions I don't doubt they would've worked well too. However, the print quality was unsalvageable for my purposes and this printer suffers from the Canon "pizza wheel" issue where the little metal "pizza wheel" looking rollers leave imprints on certain papers, such as non-Canon glossy papers. In the photos I attached with art from @glacierclear (warning, her account is for adults only; the art used here is SFW/all ages oriented) you may be able to see that the TR8620, with some flubbing about in print settings, manages to print decently saturated but still slightly dull and washed out prints. Compared to the TS6420a, the colors are brighter and more true to the source, but still run slightly warmer and slightly darker. They lack a bit of "pop". By contrast the Tango runs cooler but is more saturated, and the TS6420a is considerably darker and duller. I was hoping to use this printer to do small art prints from home, but unfortunately that wasn't possible with this printer between the color issues and pizza wheel indents (they look much like small uniform dots across the length/width of the page) and at this price point I wasn't willing to put up with it. Pros: excellent print quality (color accuracy aside); it's visibly less grainy and sharper in quality than the HP Tango. on par with the TS6420a sturdily built, this printer feels like it would last for some time (at least a year or two) convenient paper feeding options easy setup Cons: – color accuracy isn't great, colors are consistently duller and darker – pizza wheel indents make glossy prints unusable – printer is a bit large compared to the Tangomochi
I actually have the 8520, and if my comments don't apply to the 8620, I apologize in advance. Buyer beware. My experience is the the print and scan quality is good, and the software usually works. I've only done a couple of photos, and they looked fine. I have some issues where either the printer or scanner won't communicate. Principal drawback of this printer includes high ink costs. Cartridges, even the XL, do few pages and my ink costs have more than doubled after switching from an HP home printer. The main other peeve is that the scanner feed mechanism is slow and pulls the paper at an angle. I often find myself just lifting the lid and placing the page to be scanned. Overall, I expected a better printer for the price.Nick in Burnaby

Reviews:
I had the Canon Selphy but the ink cartridges only printed maybe 10 pics before I had to change. Opted for the Canon Tr150, Great printer. Compact, opted in for battery pack as well for portability and based on my use the first time(printing 4×6 Photo booth style pics), starter ink cartridge printed roughly 60 plus(hard to pinpoint as I had customers ask for 2-3 reprints, based off actual content count on drive). Worked well. Print quality looks good and print time was okay roughly minute per but towards end when I had multiple customers could of used a second printer though….overall I recommend. I'm above average user(events, weddings, portraits) so worth the money so far.Walter
I travel out of town and my company likes to print things last minute or make me print last minute with the possibility of not having a printer to print to. I decided to invest in a portable printer so I wouldn’t look unprofessional to my clients for not having paperwork ready. This printer was easy to setup. It has its own “wifi” so it’s almost like a bluetooth printer; no need to be connected via cable nor need a flash drive. The only con I have is that the ink doesn’t dry instantly so I’ve encountered ink smears when I accidentally touch the printed paper. It could possibly be because of fresh new ink but who knows. Either way, it’s great. I carry it in my backpack. I use the power cable but I think I’ll also invest in the battery to avoid having to carry the power adapter.STACIE
Portable compact printer designed for people on the go! Recommend getting the battery pack (LK-72, costs $99) if you want it to be truly portable. Set-up was a breeze, took me less than 5 minutes to get it connected to my home Wi-Fi (5 GHz) and was able to print my first doc as soon as the set-up was complete. It took me a bit to figure out how to switch networks from home Wi-Fi to my Verizon MiFi hot spot and to configure it to a "wireless direct" print option. All the magic happens when you select the "settings" icon that is displayed on the LCD screen, which wasn't quite obvious the first time I looked at the screen as I kept searching the app for settings option. It goes without saying "when everything else fails, read the manual". The online printer manual link on the canon app came in handy for instructions on how to configure, change settings, connect to cloud, etc. I was able to print documents off of my IPAD (over Wi-Fi), smart phone (Wi-Fi), and PC (via google cloud printer) with all the devices connected to my Verizon WiFi hot spot. I saw couple custom template options on the settings and haven't explored those yet, but I see them coming handy to print custom forms on the go. Haven't tried the USB option to connect the printer directly to the PC, but might be good option when you are not connected to the internet. I noticed the printer does consume quite a bit of ink when you choose high quality prints so be ready to shell out ~$40 for replacement cartridges. Overall, I like this printer and it is compact and portable even though it's a bit pricey for a portable printer, but definitely avoids the misery of running around to find a printer or begging someone else to get you copy of your presentation when you are on the move.TechGeek

Reviews:
I purchased this printer exclusively for home use and so far, I am satisfied with the production and quality of the prints. My printer is paired with both my PC and Mac and had little issues setting up the printer for USB and wifi connectivity. One thing I do emphasize is to follow the instructions that are included with the printer to ensure your setup process goes smoothly. Also, if you plan on using the printer connected via USB, ensure that you purchase a USB-A to USB-B cable. The printer does not include a USB cable. As a budget printer, I knew what to expect and I wasn't wrong. The scanner is decent, the printer is loud when turning it on and while it prints, but again, not a deal breaker. I am happy with the purchase I made and would recommend this printer to anyone who needs a basic home printer for occasional printing. If you do need to print multiple pages, I would recommend a laser jet printer that easily handles high volume printing.Fozz
This little printer is quite the bargain. Less than $70 and it copies, scans, and prints documents and quality photographs. Prints on both sides with automatic duplexing.. saves paper. Control software and drivers are a breeze to install. Wireless operation in several protocols including AirPrint and Windows. I'm running Windows 11 and it works great. My wife prints from her iPhone and she loves it. It comes with one color and one black cartridge included. On the downside, replacement cartridges are a little pricey. So I bought a couple of rebuilt cartridges, for standby, and a refill kit… problem solved. There is no automatic document feeder for scanning or copying, but who could expect that for $70? All in all, one sweet little machine.Curt
This is an okay printer. Be warned, it doesn't ship with a cable to plug into your computer. If you don't want to install it wireless, you'll have to get your own cable. It prints well, so it does it's job. It's loud though… I don't know if it's the printer trying to find paper, but you can hear it running loudly after you first turn it on. It's awkwardly loud for a printer, I'm not sure how else to describe it. The drivers we needed, to get the scanner to work, were difficult to find on the website. It took some extra effort to get that part of the printer to function like it was supposed to, and that was with my husband, and myself, both being pretty familiar with computers and installing devices. Someone less technologically savvy might have a harder time getting this device set up. This printer isn't as user friendly as it could be, when it comes to dealing with issues. There are relatively fewer buttons to do things, and it makes troubleshooting problems difficult. While it looks simple to use, it isn't as simple when you need to try and address an issue. That being said, I like the fact that it has a scanner, you feed paper in through the front (and not the top), and the color is fun and different. For no more than I purchased it for, so far it's a decent little printer.ChaosCat

Reviews:
Bought to replace an 8 year old Canon (MX 880) that finally gave up the ghost. Very pleased with the ease of setup and the performance. Little slower than my older one but more than makes up for that by doing more. My older model would not scan multiple pages as one document (I am a Realtor). This one does! Having only two ink cartridges instead of 4 in my old one is a plus. The ability to print from my phone is nice but probably won't get used all that much. Overall, very pleased with the purchase and look forward to many years of use.
Purchased a week ago. Smooth, easy wireless set up. Quick B & W printing. Prints card stock, photo paper, both glossy & matte very well. Rear feed great for cards & photos. Scanning is easy with numerous functions. Would give 5 stars if it had an ink system that was more economical. So far, I think this is an excellent printer and a good value. I had purchased a Brother printer in the store that was $100 more because it was in stock, and the Canon was not, but it would not print cards without jamming, so I returned it. Staples credited my visa without any questions or hassle. Had to order the Canon online, but it came overnight, and it is a much better printer, for a lot less money. Will continue to purchase from Staples due to this excellent customer service experience.SUSAN
So far, so good! I have terrible luck with printers and they just don't seem to last. This one replaced another Canon PIXMA that I was never able to get connected wirelessly and would constantly give me errors that it wasn't connected or offline. So, understandably I was a little hesitant to get another Canon. This one had decent reviews which were on par with or better than the others I was looking at, and since it was on sale for a fantastic price, I thought I'd give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! Setup was a breeze, and this is the first printer that I've had that not only easily connected wirelessly, but has stayed connected. Even adding my smartphone to wirelessly print was a piece of cake. This printer practically set itself up every step of the way. It does everything it said it would do and is easily meeting my needs. So far I'm extremely happy.ToyFoxGirl

DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!! CHECK THE SPECS, FEATURES, AND WHATS INCLUDED, BEFORE BUYING!!! Iam guving one star because there is only one spot where it says a usb cable is needed and it should be in the product description but its not so i didnt see that i was going to need it. The printer must be connected with a usb cable in order for it to work and you cannot even set it up unless you have it. So i cannot set it up until i go buy a usb cable for it. That is the one piece of equipment that is needed in order for it to work so why would you not include a cable? even when you go to check out it never did the essential add on pop up with a usb option so i still didnt think i was going to need additional items That didnt happen when i added the printer to the cart but even if it did i probably would not have gotten one. Since i didnt see that it was needed.Nothappywithcustomerservi
Just delivered, a bit of trepidation about 'installing' as previously had an ITDepartment for this. Fairly intuitive, though not sure what to do with the CD disk~~ (Never required installation . . . ??) Located the ink cartridge install sites, plugged the cord in, turned on the printer & MacBook Pro computer, and jacked in the DSL connection. Installed paper, located test page to print ~~ Tapped 'Print' and up came the selection tab. All this without benefit of an instruction book; amazingly simple! Since the sales info indicated lack of compatibility with any OS X systems beyond 10.2 Sierra, I printed from my Mac with that system first. HOWEVER, curious to find out whether it might also handle 10.15 Catalina, I jacked it into my newer Mac. Printed equally as well from both Systems . . . Sierra & Catalina! If you are not 'techy', I fully recommend this printer, with the caveat that is doesn't appear to have font size adjustment? Apologies if it does . . . brand new to me today, and simply quite thrilled that any printer can be this intuitive and easy to connect~~!!BelleWA
Must be made by the contractor that makes the lowest-end HP printers. Same form factor and 2 print-head integrated cartridges- pigment black and dye C-M-Y. Biggest drawback USB only. There is something to be said for a small, light weight printer one take along when traveling or up at the cottage. But I would skip this one and get the TS302 with wireless and for another $15 ($69) it can do a LOT more. Would be even better if these printers had a battery pack. When I got mine, Canon was selling these for about $25. There are ways to refill these HP-type cartridges, which I plan on doing in the future.David

Reviews:
The Canon Pixma ip100 prints well for a portable printer. I will be taking it on a trip next week and will try it out as a "road warrior" printer, but so far it has worked well. Easy to set up — if you have Win 8 or higher, you don't need the install CD to set up, just plug it to your laptop and it automatically acquires the Canon drivers. I had no trouble installing it on my desktop (as a second printer) or my other peripherals. It will also serve as a backup printer if my desktop printer is either engaged or stops working. The bluetooth dongle shipped with the Pixma doesn't work, but I realized it was a copy of the original and at some point, I'll purchase the authorized dongle. All in all, the Canon Pixma has not presented any problems with respect to installation and print quality. You'll hear from me if it does.lrolston
This printer is replacing the beloved by me, but no longer in production, BJC-55. This printer is a fairly large device for a portable printer. I obtained a case that it fits in for extra protection and it takes up half the space in my computer bag. Setting up the printer is easy, and it prints very well. The ink takes a LONG time to dry on Avery clear labels, so if you're going to print address labels to or from, I would print those on a regular printer either at a hotel business center or before leaving home. I carry this printer with me to be able to print adhesive name badge labels that are affixed to postcards describing places I am visiting. It works perfectly for that. I also use it for business purposes to print forms/instructions when I am at a client site visit. Unfortunately, I cannot rely on hotel printers as often they are out of paper, or worse, empty ink cartridges with no replacements available. I obtained the external battery to be able to use this printer without a power source attached, but have NEVER been able to figure out how to use the damned thing. Again, the BJC-55 was a superbly designed and extremely functional printer and I have no idea why Canon would stop making such a fabulous device and replace it with something like this.8849chrystinp
This printer is simply the best portable unit I have purchased.. Easy to install and setup. It does all the work itself and makes itself ready to use in minutes. The color quality is amazing and easily matches the photos i print from my color laser. I now have purchased 3 of these. I kept one and gifted the others. Buy one used to test my remarks. Later you'll buy s new one!telle6107

I am no artist. Just wanted a photo printer to print family photos and random photos found on the web. This printer by far satisfies those needs. It was a bit of a challenge to set up because the wireless option did not work. I have printed multiple 13×19, 5×7, 4×6 and 8.5×11 and still have yet to run out of the ink that came with the printer. Already purchased replacement ink from a generic vendor on Amazon for $25. This is well worth the investment. The Canon phone app is very simple to use. I have printed all my photos from the phone app. I am usually a harsh critic but I have no complaints here.AndreB
Love this printer – only issues I had so far was setting up the printer with my network. Easiest solution was to just get a printer cable to do the setup/driver installation, the wireless worked fine after that. Note – most computers don't have CD drives anymore so cable setup is best option. But if you do have a CD drive on your desktop or laptop then it should be fine with setup that way. I love that this printer supports various paper sizes and thickness including 11×17 which I use to print out plans. I've tried printing photos on this as well and it's amazing colors are spot on. The starter cartridge that comes with this lasts quite a bit and I love that you can buy the individual colors rather than the color cartridges like HP has for a crazy price. The down side to this is that there is no scan or copy function on this. I basically ended up purchasing this model because I do a lot of craft printing and this fit all my qualifications (multi paper size (large prints) / thickness / color quality). And this only comes in a top load – great for crafters as this doesn't bend / curl the paper as it feeds thru unlike bottom load printers. Giving the ease of use a 4 star only due to the setup being a bit difficult if you're trying to set up wirelessly – best to get a printer cable.Char
While doing a ton of research I settled on this printer to provide me with proofs of work I had planned to send for prints as many times it is very difficult to gauge what we see on the screen with what is received from a printer. After printing a couple images I was so blown away by the quality, on professional papers, that I am reconsidering sending away for prints. The cold and blending on this printer is excellent. The B&W could be better but then I did not buy it for that purpose. Dye inks won't compare to pigment on the B&W spectrum. I really considered going with the P200 as it would be the best dye based printer out there, I simply don't print enough to get the benefit from Pigment printers. After having used this printer though I am not as motivated to upgrade to the P200, this is a more than capable quality photo printer. I doubt anything but a side by side comparison would convince me otherwise but them for proof's, this is perfection. The P200 is still new, double the price and double the cost on inks, if you can find any. I have no regrets with purchasing the 8720. PS: I did not experience any banding as was reported by another. That is the only thing that made me hesitate on this purchase. The quality is so good I am tempted to compare vs. ordered professional prints and update with the results.Jack

Reviews:
Coming from a deskjet printer to this product it was a major improvement. I was in the market for an all-in-one photo printer and I stumbled upon this canon for a nice price. Little did I know I would be blown away with its value. This printer really gets the job done its easy to use and very easy to set up. I have this printer wireless setup and it was a breeze setting it up for windows 7. However, for my pc's using XP it was a little tricky because of the XP drivers but once those are set it's pretty easy to use. The quality of the prints look very good compared to my deskjet especially when printing pictures. You have the option of using regular black ink or photo black ink and there is a noticeably difference, I recommend using the photo black ink when printing photo's as it was intended for. Overall, This printer is easy to set up and the print quality is very good. I highly recommend this product to those looking for a good value all-in-printer.dfunk91
I got the Canon MP480 printer free with my computer a year and a half ago. I've been pretty pleased with it. It's easy to operate and prints well. The printing, scanning, and copying functions all work satisfactorily. It is nice that it has a little flip up screen where you can perform a lot of the controls. This is pretty easy to learn and understand how to use, especially alongside the user's manual (which you can get electronically). I bought the bluetooth adapter for the printer so I don't have to have my computer connected by a USB cord and that is really nice. My old printer did not have a bluetooth option, so this was a nice addition for me. It is nice that you can print directly off a USB port as well. The quality of prints/copies is pretty good, but the printer can be a little loud. It's nice that you can choose to print in black and white or color. The only real negative I see about it is that the ink doesn't last forever and it is super expensive to replace. But this is kind of a fact of life for inkjet printers. The only reason I would replace it would be to get a laser printer.ellenr44
we bought the canon mp480 printer a few years ago for christmas because it had some ofthe cheapest printer ink cartridges. litlle did we know that it was a really great printer! it is so easy to use. youcan just touch a button and do almost anything! also, i like using it to print off pictures, something i never did with our old printers because of the quality. this printer does it all, is really easy to use and is cheaper than others to refill ink cartridgres. i have gotten it jammed time and time again and unjamming it is no problem. honestly, in all the years i have had it, i have never had a problem with it! the only thing that i remembetr was a negative abou it was that there was no cord in it. you had to purchase that seperately,, which we did not know so had to go back out, get the cord and then were able to use it. it's so easy to use, we even got my mother one, who does not know how to use anything electronic & she has no problem with it.klc588

Reviews:
The ease of setting up this printer is such a pleasure. All I did was scan the QR code that came with it and I was able to set my phone up within six minutes (new phone learning curve). Then I picked up my iPad and was able to set that up within five minutes (includes the time it took to download the canon print app). The first thing I printed was a picture of a purple rose and it came out very nice. I didn’t have photo paper so I use regular copy paper and it still had beautiful saturation. I can’t wait to see how well it does on the ink usage. But I am quite impressed with how easy it is to use. I have it right now on the dining room table and I’m considering putting it in my bedroom on a solid surface somewhere. It’s not like the old days where it’s wired in and you’re stuck at the desk with it. The Flatbed scanner on top has a nice touch that some would say as a flaw. The lid gives a little bit which in my opinion is great if you’re trying to copy a page from the middle of a book. You don’t want a rigid lid that doesn’t work with you when you’re trying to press down and get that good copy. So far so good! And before I bought it I noticed people complaining in the reviews about the lack of a manual, you really don’t need one. It talks you through every step right on the screen, literally tells you what to do. Overall I’m quite impressed. Let’s hope it lasts as long as my previous printer did.happyshopper
This is my first Cannon printer after having HP printers for the last twenty-five years. Installation didn't work the first time as far as the WiFi connection. It took a third attempt and it finally connected. I made no changes and only restarted the install from the top. I was OK with that. There is no installation instructions at all and using the web site was not much different. The software was pretty much self intuit and follow the screen prompts but it was a bit vague. It turned out you had to answer the question on the setup at the printer 2-line screen. Zero instructions on how to install the ink cartridges and it seemed to be new for Cannon, one cartridge for color, one for black. Since it was similar to HP, I had no issue but the instructions also did not state when to install the ink. It must be after the Wifi Connection is made. I installed it before hand the the printer did not see any ink cartridges. I had to remove and reinsert then you were prompted at the small screen. My only compliant is the screen is not LED back lighted. A bit hard to read in a no so bright room. Since there is no backlight, the is no indication if the print job went to the printer via WiFi. On the HP the screen would light up and a few seconds later start the print job. The Cannon is about the same wait time but until it draws paper do not you know the print job went through. A small but comfy feature all printers should have. Adding a LED backlight display could hardly add any additional factory cost.GeorgeS
i am very disappointed with this printer. first of all I had difficulty setting it up. There was no manual, to follow and had trouble trying to get it up on line. Then I discovered that the screen that tells you about how many copies, or other information, is very difficult to read. it is small only 2 lines, and the background is a blue color with black printing – I had to get a flashlight to be able to read the words on the screen. I still have not figured out all the buttons – when I hit the set up button, it tells me nothing much. And there are buttons that I do not know what they are for! I downloaded the manual after going to the Canon site, and still can't info on those buttons. I used to have a Pixma MX350 printer and I loved it. I don't think I would have bought this one, but It was all that Best Buy had available except for business printers, and we needed a printer right away. sorry but I cannot recomend this printer!Norrie

Reviews:
Horribly disappointing. Ink cartridges are very small, requiring constant/expensive replacements – ink supply will deplete rapidly after printing regular office documents (not the more ink intensive photos). Furthermore, the scanner feature will not work if ink is low – thus necessitating additional purchases before using an entirely unrelated feature. I feel ripped off and stupid for having been suckered into this product.Solar
I am a big fan of Canon product. Their things work well with each other with no hassle and good reliability. This unit is just what I wanted to replace my 15 year old Canon printer. It even uses the same cartridge as the old one which is great as I have a multi pack of same. Light, small, easy set up, easy use, reliable Great iteration on a great Canon product.mrnice
The Good: Set-up is basically straightforward and easy. Wireless Wi-Fi hook-up went smoothly. Print colors are fine for everyday use. The less good: Ink cartridges are located underneath the scanner, not easy to find; and you must be sure to load paper carefully to avoid a paper jam. Overall, I am happy with this Canon Pixma, and see it as a good, inexpensive printer.Molly

Reviews:
I am a serious amateur. This is my first photo printer. I bought this printer because I wanted to take control over my printing after having been unsatisfied with the results I had been getting from print labs, and I also wanted instant feed back I could get by being able to make tests prints and do so at a reasonable cost. I decided on the Canon Pixma Pro 200 because, according to reviews, its ink consumption is reasonable, the ink doesn't clog if I don't use it for a week, it is a reliable printer, and although the price was high, I felt worth it for a professional quality printer. It was easy to set up. After a couple of months use my printer is performing flawlessly, and I could not be happier. I print mostly black & white. This printer does an excellent job on b&w prints. I have not seen any magenta or purplish casts on the deep blacks which people complain about with dye ink printers. The tonal gradations look smooth and perfectly acceptable to my eye. Color prints are really good, too. Printer comes loaded with ICC profiles for all Canon photo papers, and you can add any other profiles you want. I use the Canon print software as an add-on in Lightroom. I'm using Canon photo paper, mostly Pro Luster and Premium Pro Matte for b&w prints, and I am very satisfied. I am very happy with the results I have been getting. Printing has made my editing better. I see things in the prints I missed on my computer screen. I make 5 x 7 test prints trying different edits before I make a larger print. I can do this at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend this printer.Ralph
I print mostly 13 X 19 borderless prints on Canon's 'Glossy Photo Paper Pro Platinum PT-101'. This paper/printer combination produces the most stunning color prints I have ever seen. The inks for this printer are dye based. To my eye they give punchier colors without any hint of bronzing that pigment based inks can give. When I show people these glossy prints they are blown away by the quality. I upgraded to this printer from my Canon Pro-100. While that printer did a great job, the Pro-200s blues and reds are even deeper. It also seem that this printer wastes less ink getting ready to print. Printing is fast and precise. A joy to use. Now let me qualify my Headline statement. If you are doing B&W printing on gallery quality fine art fiber based matte papers this may not be your printer. While it certainly does a good job, a pigment based printer with a flat black ink cartridge will give better results. So, to conclude, I'm extremely happy with this printer. I use a calibrated monitor and print from Photoshop. The colors are surprisingly accurate. If this printer is anything like my old pro-100 you should also not have any head clogging issues, even if it sits for months between printing sessions.Bryan
This printer is incredible. I am an illustrator/graphic designer, so having the full bleed option to print 13 x 19 is wonderful. With the right paper, your photos, art, illustrations, designs, etc., come out looking incredible. I have only played with it for a few weeks. But it was a great investment. Plus, Best Buy sells it far cheaper than I found it on Amazon. It is quiet. Easy to operate. Large, of course. Make sure you have shelf space to incorporate it when dormant/closed AND when its trays are open for business.Doodlematt

Reviews:
I owned the Canon PIXMA iX6820 previously for at least 6 years. It gave me problems but I guess not enough to deter me from purchasing another after the first one finally died. If you own a Mac, make sure to download all of the drivers from Canon's site in order to setup your printer with wi-fi. It took me a few hours to finally figure that out. Didn't see anything in the operations manual that referenced the downloads. Fortunately I knew this printer worked with my Macbook previously so I didn't give up and return it.Canon6820fan
I mainly use this printer to make digital art into stickers and postcards. PROs: – Vibrant colors (Once you adjust for the yellow-tint. More on this below.) – Great Bluetooth connection (Once you get the initial connection. I had to get the app to make it work.) – Quick and easy paper loading even when I'm switching paper sizes between prints. CON(s): – When using the default/auto color adjustment settings, my prints come out a little yellow tinted. I usually adjust for it in my Photoshop file, and I haven't tried adjusting the driver settings yet. The blacks are really rich, but if it's at anything below 85% opacity it starts to yellow. – When the colors are closer in value, the printer can't seem tell the difference and will print them as the same color so it'll look quite muddled. This is something I also adjust for in my Photoshop files, but I haven't tried changing the drive settings yet. Overall, I really like this printer. It's a great price and does want I need. Ease of use and the color quality makes color correcting worth it.Kai
Pro: Fast document and photo printing, large prints, tight DPI when needed, 5-color ink system, Feed Through Paper tray which reduces clogs for heavier weight photo paper, multiple methods of connectivity. CONS: This is my fourth printer from the iX printer series. Everyone of them has failed during the warranty period. Canon immediately replaced them with an overnight shipment. Canon says they are made for durability for a marketing workload environment though, my experience, they have failed repeatedly within the warranty period though Canon has shipped overnight a refurbished model which then fails within 6 months after the warranty period expires. You can assume a 4-18 month life span for this printer. I continue to purchase because of the price point and I can get really great third party inks (longer warranty value) for considerably less than the OEM inks. Reasons for failure have been linked to the feeding mechanism as well as to a break down in the electronics that allow the print head to function. No replacement print heads are available. I've taken the print head from the new printer and put into the old printer and the old printer still wont print which is how I know it is in the electronics. Putting the new print head back into the new printer then printingtakes place. It's a great product for a marketing department though it just doesn't live up to the durability claim which Canon makes – it definitely is not an industrial grade product. Not even for the small 1 person business environment as it won't last very long. Nevertheless, because of the price point and availability of less expensive superior ink price points, replacing them is far less expensive than any equivalent which the competition has to offer and really less expensive than the much much larger industrial grade products which Canon manufactures.photomarketingusa

It works well and lasts quite well. I chose to order this printer because it is identical to the one I had previously, which finally bugged out. A kind friend set it up for me because I'm a nullity at this kind of thing, but it only took him about half an hour. Print quality is fine with b & w, sometimes a bit fuzzy with color. But "close enough for government work." And a good value for the money. Victoria Huckenpahlervicthucken0
I LOVE my Canon Pixma printer, This is my second one, Had the other one for years and would not have ever replaced it if I did not have to. Such an easy printer to set up, even for a non-techie like myself. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a compact, easy to use, affordable item. Could not be happier.bellisima2011
* Can't tell how long each ink cartridge will last I bought this printer to replace a broken HP All-In-One. This is a temporary replacement. From all the reviews I've read and also because I wanted a photo printer, I chose this. Although it is a cheap photo printer lacking a lot of quick functionality on the machine, it is worth it. I don't need to use USB or SD cards to print out from. I rather do it on the computer since bigger screen and easier to choose images from. So all those functionality doesn't apply to me. For those who carry the printer, thi sis very light. 😉 But I guess not portable like those very expensive JUST photo printers. I would recommend this printer to anyone regardless of the ink. It's really not that bad, if the quality of this printer is good. I was tired of HP too.Kevin M.

online ONLY manual for multiple machines and is not even a manual. Just a mishmash website click click click. what a f'in disaster. Too cheap to even include a driver disk. more click click click. no class. Recommend downloading EVERYTHING (except manual of course) you can for future. They cannot be trusted. On an older model, the scan software became corrupt and NOTHING available online to repair and printer wasnt exactly ancient. Luckily was able to locate original disk. Just a shining example.Kathleen
Exactly like Canon PIXMA TR4720. If you have any tech savvy it will be easy to install in 5 minutes. Set up was simple with QR code and app downloaded to my phone. Easy to install ink. Just read the directions. No issues getting ink for printer on line. Prints with Black ink only with Color out as long as cartridge still installed. AirDrop and Wireless printing a breeze. Printer is loud. Light weight. That is a plus and or a minus depending on how you treat it. Go to cannon for manual as there is none – if you need it. Walmart did not have in store had to get delivered which was good for me. I don't see any reason not to recommend it at this point.James
Read the online tutorial. The lcd is simple just on or off to choose from in selections. Remove all orange tape before plugging in! Wait until unit is on before adding ink cartridges! Watch the lcd at this time. Connect to wifi first. Before adding drivers go to control panel first to see if printer can be added. This unit DOES work on Windows 11. Then use cell phone on same wifi connection and follow link on pamphlet inside box to set up that connection.STEVEN

Reviews:
Edited to add on 4/19/21 – My original review never posted. I have included an edited version below. I realize now that I was somewhat harsh in my assessment of the printer. It was an honest assessment, but I was angry, so it was harsh. Since the review, I have figured out that after I 1) plug the USB cable into my computer and 2) ensure that whatever I am printing is saved onto my computer's hard drive, the document prints just fine, with no delays. I am not sure if it is 1, or 2 or a combination of both, but either way, I have gotten it to work. Since I figured out a way to get it to work for me, I have added one more star. The same cannot be said of documents I want to print from any mobile devices, or documents saved in my cloud drives. I should be able to print from any source. I don't think that is asking a lot of a printer made by an established corporation in the year 2021. If a document is on my cloud drive and I am viewing it, and I hit print, the printer should respond to that but it doesn't. It gets all slow, then starts printing out the partial pages. If I am viewing a document on the cloud, then the document should be in the computer's cache memory and accessible to the printer. At least, that is my understanding as a non-technical user of computers and peripheral devices. That this printer struggles with something so elementary is not something I expected when I spent hundreds of dollars on it, the paper, and the ink. Original review, edited to remove harsh language since that is probably why it was never posted: This printer is unreliable. I can NEVER count on it to print my documents when I need them. Just when I think I have figured it out, I go to print something and it fails me YET AGAIN. Yes, all my drivers are updated. My computer and smart phone are working just fine. I go to print a PDF or MS Word document and sometimes it will print quickly but 95% of the time it takes FOREVER to complete the job, if it completes at all. I have had so many pages spit out incomplete and have wasted so much paper and ink because this printer cannot complete the very basic tasks that it was poorly designed to do. When it won't print from my PC I try printing the document from my smart phone, and SOMETIMES that works, but most of the time it does not! I want to know WHY I cannot just plug the USB cable into my computer and print directly from my computer? Why do I have to be connected to the network or connected to Wi-Fi for it to work properly? And how many times must I establish a Wi-Fi connection with this printer? I connected the printer with the USB cable thinking that would help, and it did at first. But lately it wants to override the direct connection and use Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi would be great to use but it clearly cannot handle receiving the information wirelessly and that's why it stalls so often. And the manual they provide has no information on how to connect using a USB cable, and how to check to ensure the printer is connected with the cable instead of trying to connect wirelessly. When this printer works, the documents look great. But most of the time I am sitting here waiting unreasonable lengths of time for my documents to come out, and canceling print jobs and re-sending print jobs and rebooting the printer over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. I am sick of this. You pay several hundred dollars for all this stuff that sits on your desk only to have it fail when you need it to work. 0 stars! DO NOT RECOMMEND! It is 2021 I should be able to PLUG IN my devices and have them work flawlessly the first time, especially on these very BASIC tasks!Maria
This printer handled 4 years of nursing school printing E-Textbooks. We've put two cases of paper through it and have only needed to do one tank refill. I was a monochrome laser purist for a long time, but the MegaTank's have changed my mind on that. My only quibble is the display can be hard to read with poor lighting, but you rarely need to read it. This is a picture of a photo printed on the G5020. I'm amazed at the photo quality on Canon Glossy II paper. The picture of a picture really doesn't do it justice. Will
This was purchased to replace another Canon printer, which I was using with generic ink. After a while, the black printing somehow went out of sync and was illegible (this happened to me twice already). I was going to go with a different brand, but decided to take a chance on this new technology. We will see in a year or so! I was annoyed that to set it up for wireless printing (Mac) I had to download a phone app, however it was relatively painless and I was able to immediately uninstall the app. The whole process took about 5 minutes. Pouring in the ink was ever-so-slightly nerve wracking, as I triple checked to make sure it was the right tank, and quickly had to invert the bottle in the right place so that it wouldn't leak all over the place. The bottles are sized just right for the tank, so when finished filling, the bottle was empty and there was nothing left to leak. That means topping up a tank that is getting low on ink is probably a bad idea; wait until it is more or less empty so you can fit in a whole bottle of ink. There are 2 extra bottles of black ink included, and the prints are sharp, clear, and fast. I love the large paper tray. Overall, hoping for a consistently good experience for a long time.Nd
