Cleans very well. Read some of the complaints and don’t know their particular vehicle but you cannot run certain types of injector or any in some turbo charged vehicles it can screw it up and cause a high dollar repair. You need to know before running any kind of additive to your fuel cant blame their product on someone’s ignorance or it’s possible you’ve broke away sediment or varnish that’s clogged the injectors because of bad fuel filter or never used anything to maintain tank cause with ethanol thats in most gas can cause water build up in gas tank which is heavier settling on the bottom of your metal gas tank. Many people never maintain their vehicle correctly and then use an Additive to try to correct never done maintenance and what happens everything turns loose and now you have a Mess. I own a 2019 Indian Chief Darkhorse motorcycle with 23,000 miles. I have been predominantly buying high test fuel at work. After several weeks, I had very difficult cold starting and a severe loss of power. I tried another fuel injector cleaner. While it did a good job , I was still having some difficulties starting the bike. I tried this cleaner because it cleaned the entire fuel system-tank, pump, cylinder and fuel injectors. The ethanol in the gas was the cause of all my problems. I have now switched to ethanol free gas to prevent future problems. My only caution on this problem is do not get on on your vehicle's paint or your hands. This product saved me a $125 repair bill. I have accumulated many pieces of lawn and garden equipment over the years. Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, chain saws, edgers, etc. I used to add Sta-Bil at the end of the season but somehow I either forgot to add it, missed the amount or added it to bad fuel. As a result, every spring I had one or more issues – clean or replaced carbs, fuel tanks, and so on. I solved my problem with two things: I only buy pure gasoline – no ethanol – it’s available in most places and there is a smart phone app that can help you find a local station. Second, I add Sta-Bil to the fuel can (and oil for the 2atrokes) immediately after I buy it so I never have to guess the right amount in the tool and the gas is always good-to-go. Yes it’s more expensive this way but I only use about 20 gallons of gas a year so it’s an expense I gladly accept to have zero problems. I’ve done this for theee years now with 100% success. I had a not so good experience with your product recently. I purchased an 8 ounce bottle of Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer last fall and followed the instructions mixing the correct portions of stabilizer to gas that I was treating. I poured the mixture in my push mower and let it run for five minutes once started then proceeded to store the mower away for the off-season. A few weeks ago, I pulled the mower out to mow but to no avail. The mower would not start. This mower was just purchased brand new last year so it wasn't making any sense as to why it wouldn't start. After a few more futile attempts at trying to start the mower, I gave up, drained the gas tank and refilled it with fresh gas. On the very first try, the mower started. I have used Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer in the past but have never encountered this sort of problem. I cannot recommend this product to anyone when Gold Eagle doesn't respond to it's customers concerns about their product. I am very dissatisfied.Mike1877

I have an older pickup truck and it gets terrible mileage. Gas prices have gotten so high I was hoping I could get better mileage with an additive that could clean my carburetor too. I didn’t notice any difference with my first tank of gas with Gumout but I decided to buy more and see if it makes a difference over time. Basically you wait until your tank runs low and put in the bottle of additive then fill up with at least 10 gallons. I added this to the tank at the gas station and then pumped my gas. I use this in my cars every oil change. I've always felt this stuff worked, but couldn't be sure. So many car chemicals are just snake oil…. The other day, I decided to use some Gumout I had on hand in an attempt to salvage flood damaged tools. I dropped some rusty bits into one ounce of this stuff and have it a little shake. It immediately started turning dark, removing rust and suspending it. I wish I had taken before and after photos, but I was unprepared and not expecting such a great result. I had another bottle of a parts store brand that I also tried and it did basically nothing more than remove basic dirt and oil. It did nothing to the rust and stains. That stuff smelled just like premium gas, and I think that's probably all it is. Gumout is viscous like a very light oil and it clearly has some effective detergents in it, like carb cleaner should! It also seemed to be much lower in VOCs than the generic stuff, not a big deal if you're dumping it in the gas tank for its intended use.Fluffhead303

This Gumout fuel injection/carb cleaner is some of the best cleaner out there. We like to add this in before doing our oil changes. Roughly a few days to a week prior to needing an oil change. Just found that's what works best for us. However, it's recommended to put in after every gas fill up for best results. It helps our vehicles run a lot more smoother! I ran across this product accidently at Auto Zone while buying a spark plug for my driveway edger. The edger had been sitting unused for about two years. I've tried multiple upper engine cleaner / lubricants over the years at the behest of three of my friends who are certified master mechanics with over 100 years of combined experience. All three STRONGLY RECOMMENDED I use Techron every 3000ish miles and were adamant that as my vehicles hit ten years old and would be pushing 150,000 miles that the payoff would be more than worth it. Every 12,000 miles I run the fuel injector cleaner and when my vehicles hits 90,000 miles I will switch to the high mileage formula (which includes extra conditioners for the seals). Cars are like friends – if you take care of them over time, they will take (good) care of you. My mechanic buddies (how all do the same) swore that doing this, combined with "reasonable driving habits", will allow me to stick with a couple simple tune-ups until at least 250,000 to 300,000. miles. Presupposing this works as planned my injectors, valves, rocker arms and pistons and rings will NOT need to be be serviced until the vehicle is well over 300,000 miles. Since I only buy when it's on sale doing this maximizes the performance and will save both $ and time later on … I'm all in on that! After trying other products on the market, I have been using this one for a few years and have never been disappointed. I use it in a newer engine (2018 Lexus, 4-cyl), as well as an older 2008 5.7L HEMI V8 and it works great in both. I recently put in the older vehicle before a long trip and noticed significant improvement in both gas mileage and performance. Highly recommend at least during every oil change, but can be used more often (monthly), depending on how much you drive. No negative effects, safe for catalytic converters. I used it to clean out an old mercury outboard motor. Fuel/oil mix was pretty old and gunked up. I drained the tank, added fresh gas/oil, added this product and let it stand for about a minute before reconnecting fuel lines. Engine hasn't started in over a year, and it turned over, less than 10 minutes after application, on the first pull after cleaning out the lines with this cleaner. I have a 2 cycle trimmer that hasn't run in over 2 years. I added fresh gasoline and could not get it started. I added 1 oz. of your Start to the fuel and pulled it a few times without success. I pulled and cleaned the plug and sprayed a small amount of engine start in the chamber and installed the plug. I use this every couple months to clean the system. It boosts octane above what is available here in CA which is closer to what the car should have. I get better gas mileage and a small bump in performance. Nothing too crazy. The ECU/DME will adapt to the fuel changes so it will more or less keep performance where it is on a stock set up. One my tuned cars you get a noticeable improvement in economy and performance. I ran this stuff in my S2000 which I didn't drive for almost a year. Its probably overkill but I wanted to make sure the fuel was still good and viable after that long. I normally like to keep a 5gal can of 110 in the garage but my wife doesnt like having fuel stored in the house.. so until I can get a shed or something to store it away from the house I have to use the small can.Rolando P.

This product is simply amazing, mixed correctly with 97 octane super un-leaded petrol. My car starts a lot quicker and is faster to come off 3rd injector. I have found that my car runs smoother now and pick up excellent. I also reset all fuel computers and went for a sensible/legal road trip over 30 miles, on arrival at destination checked fuel readout, for a 400bhp car it returned 43.4 mpg never seen these number before on car. Return journey same route back, driving fast/not legal , [ no thrashing or obscene antics ] fuel computer indicated 33.8 mpg better than seen before, usually around 28 or 29 mpg. Performance is much improved cleaned pick-up and real smoother delivery. Zero complaints from engine, seemed overall to be more happy driving. I have in mind to try full tin of VP and container of 50 lts ordinary un-leaded petrol, well mixed and loaded into car, go back and drive same prior route there and back just to do some scientific investigation. As I have nothing better to get up to, considering the biological warfare weapon is among us and killing the worlds humans, one by 100 hundred – 1000 etc. Anyway buy some VP and see for yourself. Not quite sure what happened here. Mixed per instructions, maybe I mixed it to heavy. It says it treats UP TO 10 gallons. That doesn't necessarily mean that you have to use it all is what I learned. Anyways… I filled 2 "5" gallon jugs with 91 octane for an upcoming ride. I split a can of this product in half. One half can for each "5" gallon jug. Within 4 days my gas was DARK brown. I have accumulated many pieces of lawn and garden equipment over the years. Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, chain saws, edgers, etc. I used to add Sta-Bil at the end of the season but somehow I either forgot to add it, missed the amount or added it to bad fuel. As a result, every spring I had one or more issues – clean or replaced carbs, fuel tanks, and so on. I solved my problem with two things: I only buy pure gasoline – no ethanol – it’s available in most places and there is a smart phone app that can help you find a local station. Second, I add Sta-Bil to the fuel can (and oil for the 2atrokes) immediately after I buy it so I never have to guess the right amount in the tool and the gas is always good-to-go. Yes it’s more expensive this way but I only use about 20 gallons of gas a year so it’s an expense I gladly accept to have zero problems. I’ve done this for theee years now with 100% success. I had a not so good experience with your product recently. I purchased an 8 ounce bottle of Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer last fall and followed the instructions mixing the correct portions of stabilizer to gas that I was treating. I poured the mixture in my push mower and let it run for five minutes once started then proceeded to store the mower away for the off-season. A few weeks ago, I pulled the mower out to mow but to no avail. The mower would not start. This mower was just purchased brand new last year so it wasn't making any sense as to why it wouldn't start. After a few more futile attempts at trying to start the mower, I gave up, drained the gas tank and refilled it with fresh gas. On the very first try, the mower started. I have used Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer in the past but have never encountered this sort of problem. I cannot recommend this product to anyone when Gold Eagle doesn't respond to it's customers concerns about their product. I am very dissatisfied.Mike1877

I’m a landscaping contractor. When my state switched to ethanol in the gasoline I had a rash of 2-stroke engine failures. After doing research I started using this enzyme fuel treatment along with a stabilizer all the time and using oil only from any equipment manufacturer (echo, husqvarna, Stihl, etc) plus mixing extra oil into the fuel (mix 40:1 for engines that use 50:1) I’ve never had a engine failure since. In general, I’ve had best results by using this treatment with a fuel stabilizer at the higher mix rate (red sta-bil mixed at 1oz to 5 gal) and if the fuel is stored in a completely sealed container it will stay fresh easily for a year. I never store machines with the treated fuel in them, if I need to keep fuel in a machine through an off season I use tru-fuel.Jasoninct

I have accumulated many pieces of lawn and garden equipment over the years. Lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge clippers, chain saws, edgers, etc. I used to add Sta-Bil at the end of the season but somehow I either forgot to add it, missed the amount or added it to bad fuel. As a result, every spring I had one or more issues – clean or replaced carbs, fuel tanks, and so on. I solved my problem with two things: I only buy pure gasoline – no ethanol – it’s available in most places and there is a smart phone app that can help you find a local station. Second, I add Sta-Bil to the fuel can (and oil for the 2atrokes) immediately after I buy it so I never have to guess the right amount in the tool and the gas is always good-to-go. Yes it’s more expensive this way but I only use about 20 gallons of gas a year so it’s an expense I gladly accept to have zero problems. I’ve done this for theee years now with 100% success. Spend a little money on the front end and you’ll thank yourself every time you pull the cord.Bama Swampfox

I had a not so good experience with your product recently. I purchased an 8 ounce bottle of Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer last fall and followed the instructions mixing the correct portions of stabilizer to gas that I was treating. I poured the mixture in my push mower and let it run for five minutes once started then proceeded to store the mower away for the off-season. A few weeks ago, I pulled the mower out to mow but to no avail. The mower would not start. This mower was just purchased brand new last year so it wasn't making any sense as to why it wouldn't start. After a few more futile attempts at trying to start the mower, I gave up, drained the gas tank and refilled it with fresh gas. On the very first try, the mower started. I have used Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer in the past but have never encountered this sort of problem. I cannot recommend this product to anyone when Gold Eagle doesn't respond to it's customers concerns about their product. I am very dissatisfied.Mike1877

I have been a lawn care, tractor, motorcycle, & boat engine mechanic for 30 + years. I Have always used Briggs and Stratton fuel stabilizer and it works great. We have tried all of sta-bils fuel stabilizers with different grades of fuel. It did not work, We even tried adding more & less than called for using 89, 92,93,octane fuel, still had problems with equipment not starting or if did start the engines would surge up and down, Or had to run with choke on.After draining many fuel tank 's and entire fuel system's and adding fresh fuel then they were o.k., I lost alot of money due to this. I'm the type of driver who checks his mpg each time I fill my gas tank. After putting Techron Complete Fuel System Cleaner in my tank I feel quicker acceleration than it was before the fill. (After driving 2,500 miles I check my MPG and find a reading of 24.5 MPG) when I reach the 3,000 mile mark I put in this cleaner, my mile per gallon averages 28 — 31 MPG! That is GREAT for a 385 h.p. 4.6 liter size V-8 engine! I AM DRIVING A 2011 HYUNDAI EQQUS WITH 246,000 MILES DRIVEN This has happened for (at least) the past 20 years. Suzuki Burgman 650 (2007) was misfiring at idle. Put in about 1/3 of a bottle of Chevron Techron concentrate fuel system cleaner and at 40 miles it started to run better. By 60 miles it had solved the problem. I now use only Chevron fuel because it has the same additive that the fuel system cleaner uses. By the way …. hate ethanol fuels for small older engines …. thought the problem was related to water in fuel BUT. Seafoam did not help.Scotty
