Best I have ever used, after several Ion flat irons. I thought each of them was best when purchased. I bought this to have as backup for when my current Ion was out of commission. I liked it so well, I relegated my current iron to backup and now use this one exclusively. First and primary improvement is that the temp control is located on the inside portion of the iron. On the older one, it was easy to accidentally hit the "off" button (located on the outside of the barrel), cooling the iron. Then had to heat it up again. This Ion heats up quickly and does the job beautifully. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

My hair is fine, type 2b so straightening my hair was very fast. The first time I tried it I didn’t have that much time so I didn’t section off my hair and straighten a section at a time. I was still able to get very good results. I would have liked the straightener to help me more with my frizzy hair, but hey, this can’t solve all my problems. I have been using this flat iron consistently over the last couple of weeks, and here are my thoughts and views on the product, itself, and how it performs. My hair is rather thick and naturally wavy and it rarely ever just does what I want it to do. It requires high heat and styling tools and products if I am trying to achieve a sleek and straight look. With this flat iron alone, I have not been able to achieve that look. I feel that 410 degrees is just not a heat may possibly not be high enough heat for the texture of my hair. I also had a hard time reading the digital temperature setting. I think it would help to have a backlight with this setting. Upon receiving this product, I noticed it had a very new smell… that of a product which was brand new and had never been used. The flat iron smells somewhat like burnt plastic when it is first turned on and I did smell it several times after the first use. I don't smell it anymore though and it wasn't that bothersome to me. I just associated that smell with it being brand new and recently manufactured. In all fairness, I think that this is a pretty good product when compared to others in the same pricing bracket. It's a good value for the price. I have been a long time user of Remington styling tools and have had favorable experiences with all of those which I have ever owned and used. However, the pink paint on the plates started chipping not too long after I bought it. It keeps chipping more and more as I keep using it. It doesn't seem to affect performance (at least for now while the chipping isn't that big), but it's definitely a quality issue. Get the purple version instead! I have the Ion Fusion 2.0. It is the worst straightener I've ever owned. I have thick, loosely wavy hair and even on full heat, 450 degrees, it still takes 4+ passes to get a small section remotely straight. I don't believe it actually gets up to 450. It also pulls my hair so badly, every third pass or so I have to stop and pull out hairs that are stuck in the plates – you can see in the picture how much hair I lost during one straightening session. It gets stuck midway through my hair even though I use a good heat spray AND I brush my hair thoroughly before straightening, plus again each section right before straightening. You can get better quality at the drugstore. I will never buy PYT hair products again and I'll be replacing this one ASAP.andrea.z

I really wanted to absolutely love the flat iron. I was super excited that it was cordless and I just knew it was going to be amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't get amazing results from the flat iron. It charged it overnight before my first use like it said to do. The next morning I turned it on and waited for the light to stop blinking indicating it was up to temperature. It heated up quickly. The heat didn't feel like it was actually 360 or 400 degrees but I tried it anyway. I didn't get the desired flat iron look I was expecting. I got the Unbound Petite cordless ceramic 3/4 flat iron from Conair for free to review, I was so excited to try this out. Firstly this flat iron is very small hence the name, the size is ideal to keep in a bag for a quick touch up to your hair. The heat resistant pouch it comes with is very nice and seems to contain the heat from the device, it does feel warm on the outside but it does not get hot. It comes with a micro usb cable to charge the flat iron, I do however wish that it also came with a wall piece to plug it in to but that's not a big issue. The unbound petite doesn't seem to get very hot or it is just so small that it can't get to the desired temperature, I tried both heat settings and I don't usually need a lot of heat to do my hair and it works okay for me. I consider myself to have straight hair so I personally feel that if you have even a slight wave to your hair this size iron may not be the best choice for you even for touch ups. The locking button on my flat iron also broke after the first time I used it. When I got it, it locked correctly and the next time I went to use it I nearly couldn't even open it back up. Once I got it open the locking button doesn't work anymore and it only locks the iron in a halfway open position. Let me just tell you, I have had this hair straightener for over 10 years now. The plates do what hair straighteners are supposed to do, gives your hair shine AND it smoothes the ends of your hair. I had bought a T3 and it made my ends dry…. The only thing I don’t like about this hair straightener, is that it does snag your hair a bit and you do have to clean the ridges that are on the hair straightener because it does leave dead skin cells from sweat and burning your hand. Customer service definitely not a plus I ordered my girlfriend the miss priss flat iron and some other products for her birthday which was August 11. I received the order August 2 but did not give it to her until her birthday on the 11th. She tried the miss priss flat iron and was not happy with it. She has naturally curly hair and it would not straighten her hair completely. She does not want it. I just got on your site for returns and it says to get a refund it has to be within 10 days of delivery. It’s small and compact but it’s nothing that great. I have chin length hair and much hair is very fine. I only bought this to straighten out some parts that stick out when I wake up in the morning. I recieved these as a gift and was pleasantly surprised. They are small which makes them easy to take along with you on a trip and easy to store at home. They also came with a heat resistant bag so that you can take them with you or store them away from children while they are still hot. They heat up in about 1 minute, which is good if you're in a hurry. They are great for getting to the roots of your hair in between chemical straighteners or to replace them all together. What I don't like is that since they're so small they don't reall work well on thicker, longer hair and sometimes you have to use them rather slowly to ensure that the hair gets straightened. I also don't like the fact that there is only one heat setting. It gets pretty hot but I think it would have been better if there were at least 3 preset heat settings to pick from. I'd recommend it becasue it is a nice tool to have around and once you get used to it its a breeze to use on a daily basis.MizzSolo
I find this useful when I am going out for the day and do my hair in very simple styles (curled hair with flat iron or straightened). I have used it at a friend's party and at the mall. All you have to do is find an outlet. It even fits into my little clutch bag! Most of the time I do not bring the pouch, as I don't find it necessary. It's very small and light. It can fix baby hairs that stick up throughout the day. However, it does not work if you are straightening your whole head. You will end up with bumps and waves. It is not strong enough for that. It also tends to tug on your scalp when you get towards the ends of your hair. If I do not use a heat protectant, it leaves an odd smell. It is not burnt hair, but it smells kind of like melted plastic. It is not that bad and does not last more than a minute or so. Effectiveness Very good if you are in a pinch to fix something, like at a party, school, work etc. I can carry it in my handbag at all times. It is very light and does not add much weight. I have had this flat iron for a couple of years now. I will say that it is a pretty good price when compared to other flat irons out there. It will straighten your hair and make it look nice. I have this one and a smaller one depending on which I feel that I should use for that day. This one goes a little faster because it is a little bigger than other flat irons out there. The heat settings are pretty good, but it would be nice if this flat iron went a little hotter. I can't complain for the price though. My biggest problem with this flat iron is that the plastic on mine has cracked. I didn't drop it. I'm not really sure how it cracked. I have had this problem before though. I don't know if it's the heat cracking the cheaper plastic or if it's something else. I wouldn't mind as much if it didn't catch my hair sometimes and pull it. For that reason I wouldn't buy this one again. I will say that other than that this has been a pretty good flat iron. Effectiveness It is effective at smoothing out your hair. Durability I can't say that this is that durable because mine has cracked.anne2shine
I like that it's curved. The temperature control is great too, but the plates are not 'floating'. They are stationary and the end of the plates hit each other while the area of the plates that are closest to your hand are not touching. My hair slides right out in that area. My Conair iron was one of my first irons I ever got. I bought this in high school when I started straightening my hair. My hair is pretty straight to begin with but it has a few kinks and waves in it. I bought this to get my hair board straight and it works well. I don't like that my iron doesn't have any heat settings. It has a low and a high setting but I can't choose a temperature on it. I can't set the heat up or down for thicker settings. I wish it had more of a level setting instead of just low or high. I also don't like that it doesn't have a beeper when it is heated up. I have to keep an eye on the light to make sure it's warmed up. With all that being said though, this is a great iron for beginners. It was my first iron and it got the job done. I can put thick sections or thin sections of hair in this and get them straight. I tend to set the iron on high to get it hot, then turn it down on low and it retains most of its temperature. It doesn't work on wet or damp hair but it does get my hair straight after I've let it air dry. There are better irons on the market but at the time I purchased this, I really needed something simple for my first iron. It worked well and it has lasted a long time. Effectiveness It works well on dry hair and does a good job with thick and long hair. I can't use it on wet or damp hair though. Durability This iron has lasted me nearly ten years.
