I can’t say how much I love this shampoo & conditioner. The smell is amazing and the consistency is perfect. I purchased the Paul Mitchell one and this one beats it! You get a lot of product for the price. The Paul Mitchell version isn’t enough. You barely get any product for $30! But with the GVP, you get plenty of usage out of this. It’s color safe but NOT sulfate free. I have dark color treated hair and it works great on keeping my color and helps restore my hair with moisture without making it greasy.

I have used St Clements Shampoo Bar for over a year now and have since then switched to Ethique conditioner as well. I hope to leave some helpful thoughts on this bar as I have gotten to know it well over the past year. PROS: The sustainability, the results, the smell- there are so many good things I can say about this product. I have pretty thin hair. I originally switched to this bar because the shampoo I purchased at the grocery store was causing my hair to fall out. I decided I wanted to go natural to eliminate the chances of that ever happening again. I originally purchased this bar on Amazon simply because of its natural ingredients- without knowing anything about the Ethique company itself. Once I tried the bar and learned more about the values of the company, I was hooked. This is currently the only shampoo bar I have tried and could see myself venturing into other shampoo bars from Ethique in the future, but either way I have definitely found a soap company I will stay with. The bar helps my hair feel lighter, has allowed me to go an extra day in between washes, and is just as easy to use as liquid shampoo (once you get the hang of it). I also appreciate their value on sustainability and being kind to the environment. After my initial order on Amazon, I have ordered directly from Ethique to receive a plastic-free shipment. That alone is 100% worth the few extra dollars for shipping. Plus, the free sample size product they give you usually equates to the cost of shipping anyways and is a great gateway to trying other products from Ethique. CONS: Product-wise I don't have many bad things to say about this bar, but I did dock one star for one main reason: lifetime. I love this bar so much that I don't mind paying more for Ethique products. I do not, however, agree that the price of this shampoo bar is comparable to a bottle of "normal" shampoo at the grocery store based on its lifetime. My bars last between a month and half to two months. The first bar I bought I used incorrectly (I made suds and then washed) and have since then learned how to use the bar correctly. The month and half time average is based on the bars I used correctly. This also correlates to storage. I live in a pretty low humidity climate- its really dry here. I store my bar on soap saver pad on a metal-bar shower shelf and when I leave the shower I make sure to leave the shower doors open and the bathroom fan on for a while after I'm done. I find that the bar still remains really soft in between washes, and often breaks down while in use. This results in me going through the bar a lot quicker, since large clumps pull off the bar into my hair. I did not have this problem with the first few bars I used, but it has since been common in my past few purchases. If there are any recommendations from people who have experienced this on how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it! Hair feels clean. I was using a now discontinued liquid Charcoal Shampoo from another company, which I was happy with. This is even better for my hair and scalp. I cannot use "cheap" or "supermarket" shampoo due to reaction to additives but am not having a reaction to St Clements because it is free of the toxic (to me ) preservatives in most shampoos. I chose this brand over a cheaper option at Priceline, because Ethique has a cleaner ingredient list while the other brands stocked contain nasty (to me ) ingredients and/or preservatives. My naturally poker straight hair is not artificially lifted by this shampoo bar and is very clean with four short strokes on my waist length hair. Only issue is trying to keep the bar dry, as bathroom often in use. If you have a busy bathroom, a face washer isn't going to keep the bar dry and the box will stay wet. Should be sorted soon as getting a free pink container with latest order. Thank you for not putting Aloe in everything, as I am allergic to it and appreciate Ethique adds ingredients because they are beneficial or essential to the formula, not because they are "trending" like some other brands do.Jen
I love this shampoo. It's meant for oily hair. I tried a "normal" hair shampoo and it convinced me to try this. I've been using it forever now and I love the effect it has. It makes my hair soft. I do still use a "normal" based hair conditioner (I think it's kookabar) for extra silk texture. I am a little annoyed because it's recebtly started to get really soft and slip between the grates of its rack. (Photo to follow) This has started in the past month roughly. I keep it away from the stream of water, uncovered to air dry. It seems to only affect this recipe since, as previously stated, I did try one "normal" sampler and a normal block. I used to get dandruff, so I used a 2-in-1 shampoo conditioner. That product kept the dandruff away but made my hair very dry. I love this Neutrogena conditioner! It does not have a strong odor, just a clean scent. My hair looks and feels healthy when I use this conditioner in combination with the scrub and shampoo. My hair used to get tangled with the product I used before, but this conditioner kept my hair silky and had very little tangles. The only reason I give this product 4 stars is because of the bottle shape. I am a quadriplegic, so my mom washes my hair for me. She has weak hands, so it is hard for her to squeeze the bottles. The shape of the bottle is bulky. I do not think a pump will work because the conditioner is very thick. However I would still buy these 3 products.

I got this shampoo from influenster in exchange of my honest reviews. I love trying new shampoo and conditioner products and seeing what each one has to offer. I hadn’t heard of any with hyaluronic acid before and was eager to see if it stood out above other shampoos I’ve tried. The bottle of this shampoo is a neat square shape which is different from other shampoos out there, but it didn’t fit on my shower ledge where I put all the rest of my products. I had to put it on the edge of the tub which I don’t prefer. It is easy to squeeze out and comes out a little thick. From the picture I thought it would be blue which it isn’t, only the bottle is blue. That’s not a big deal, I guess it was the inner child in me that hoped it would be a cool color. That’s a plus for anyone who doesn’t want unnatural dyes in their product anyways. When I put this on my hair it took a while to lather and I actually went back for a little more product to get it worked in all over my head. Tea tree is used to repel head lice. I buy this shampoo for my 3 girls to use during the school year. I bought the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner based on the great reviews and I am very disappointed. To clarify, I have extremely fine, thin and flat hair so I am always trying new shampoo and conditioner to try to boost volume and promote growth and so far nothing has really done the trick. Back to this specific shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo is fine, smells great VERY strong minty scent if that is not your thing and gives you that tingling feeling which is nice. However, the conditioner was the WORST I have ever experienced for my type of hair. It left it so dried out and extremely tangled when I got out of the shower, it was the most horrendous thing to comb through. I would rip so much of my hair out every morning from combing, it was that tangled. So, if you want to use the shampoo and substitute with another conditioner like I had to do then its totally fine. But I would definitely NOT recommend the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree conditioner.Anonymous
My hairstylist recommended it to me after seeing that I had a flaky scalp that wasnt dandruff. I had been using Head and Shoulders and Selsun Blue to help, but I really hated how gunky they were, and didnt realize I didnt have dandruff but an incredibly sensitivedry scalp. When she told me that this would balance my scalp, I decided to give it a go. Its an all right product 2 weeks in, the scent and tingly feeling are the real attractive features. It helped for about a week and then my scalp decided to flake only on the edges of my hair line. I wash my hair every night with it and use the conditioner every 23 days. Its a thick product and it doesnt rinse as easily as other shampoos for me. I gave it higher stars because I believe my hair has actually improved using it. Its softer and brighter, but this doesnt help with frizz. I will not be buying it again as I dont think its appropriate to treat my sensitive dry scalp.Anonymous
This is my favorite shampoo, and Ive been using it for months now. I suffer from extremely oily roots and dry ends, and this takes care of it. My hairdresser suggested that I try this, and although I skeptical I decided to try it anyway. While washing my hair the first time I could actually feel the shampoo washing away all of the oil that was on my scalp, and it felt amazing. Another plus what that it smelled absolutely amazing. After I dried my hair I noticed right away that it was much cleaner than it normally was, and my hair was not as limp as normal either. My hair dried better and it felt amazing. My roots were clean but the roots of my hair had not been overly dried either. The second day when my hair normally turns into a grease monster was amazing. My hair had little to no grease in it until the very end of the day, and I easily fixed that with a little bit of dry shampoo, and I could have gone a third day without washing if I had wanted too. This product really gets everything clean and keeps it clean, which is a problem with other products hair is clean but doesnt stay clean. Now I can wash my hair less often, which is a blessing since I used to have to do it very often to keep my hair looking clean. I highly recommend this.Anonymous

My hairdresser recommended this shampoo as the front of my hair would go solid when I ran the straighteners over it due to a build up of hairspray that my shampoo wasn't washing out properly. After 1 wash my hair is back to normal and I can use my straighteners again. I have now done the 2nd wash in it, but will put it away and only use it after styling my hair with hairspray. Loved this shampoo; I don't have dandruff but can get quite an itchy scalp. I don't wash my hair everyday in order to avoid itching and drying out my scalp, so at most I will wash my hair every 2-3 days but this often means it gets greasy. This shampoo was great for my scalp; not itched since first use, left my scalp feeling clean and fresh. Great subtle fragrance and a little goes a long way. I have quite fine hair and most shampoos can be too heavy but this was excellent, left it feeling weightless. I would also go as far to say that it has helped reduce the oiliness of my hair also. This shampoo is amazing! I have been using a different brand of tea tree shampoo for several years, but I needed a change, since I wasn't getting the same results I did years ago. I am so glad I decided to try the suave brand! Not only does this shampoo have tea tree oil in it, but it has hemp seed oil. The tea tree helps me with my dry scalp and prevents me from developing dandruff. The hemp seed oil helps with stimulating and maintaining hair growth. I love this shampoo since it gives my entire scalp a refreshing feeling. Since I have been using my hair is shiny, soft and silky. Best of all, it is tangle-free! I have had dry scalp for many years now and am constantly searching for different shampoos that will help me get rid of it. I've tried everything from expensive T-gels to almost every brand of dandruff shampoo out there. I have used Tea Tree oil shampoo before, and while it helped a little, wasn't very effective. By the second day after using it, the dandruff was back. This Suave Tea Tree and Hemp Seed Oil seems to be much better at helping with the dandruff. I have had much less white flakes even into the 3rd day after washing when I use this. One thing I have noticed however is that it tends to make my hair more frizzy and statically charged. I braid my hair after washing when it's wet, and then the day after I pull out the braids to have that nice wavy look to it. But with this shampoo, it makes my hair frizzy for the second day (which is good is you need more volume in your hair, otherwise, not so helpful), and by the third day, my hair is sticking to everything from the static charge. So while great for dandruff, I have to weigh in the frizziness and static to the review also. I would definitely recommend the product because of it's excellent job on dandruff despite the unfortunate side effects.rosepaw
I was so excited to try out Suave's new Revitalizing Tea Tree & Hemp Seed Oil Shampoo!! I've heard and read of all the great benefits of the two oils, but have yet to try either. I'm very picky about which products I use on my hair. As my hair is long, curly, frizzy, has some damage and just needs extra care. I wasn't sure how I would like Suave. Right away I noticed the scent, I love the smell, like mint! Not too strong, or light, just right. I did notice that the shampoo is not a thin, or as runny as some other's. Which is a good thing. It laters up and massages into my hair quite nicely. It also rinses out fast and easy, bonus. I love the fact this has tea tree oil in it, as it helps with various things. Such as dandruff, I don't suffer with dandruff, but it also provides antibacterial benefits, which help hair growth. It also has hemp seed oil, which has it all! Hemp seed oil contains many dietary nutrients, like vitamins, minerals, proteins, omega fatty acids, & more to support and help promote healthy hair. All of which I absolutely love and need right now with my hair. I just had it cut last month. Perfect time to take the best care of it I can, and providing it with both oils I feel will help my hair to become less frizzy, more voluminous, less damaged, and looking all around better. Sebamed's active ingredient is piroctone olamine, rather than zinc pyrithione which is in most other anti dandruff shampoos in Australia. For me, zinc pyrithione does nothing. I have been plagued with oily acne prone scalp (no dandruff) for the last 3 years where my scalp itches so badly that I often crawl out of bed in wee hours of the night to shampoo my hair. I have tried a wide range of shampoos, ( Aveda Invati, Kerastase, Pregaine, Rogaine, Selsun, Organix, Sebastian, Oribe, Living Proof, Percy & Reed, Nioxin, Paul Mitchell to name a few) consulted doctors and scalp specialists. Oral supplements and medication offered temporary relief. This shampoo is runny, has a light pleasant scent which does not linger after wash. It is gentle and does not dry out my hair yet keeps the sebum in check, no more scalp scratching, acne has reduced by 80%. My scalp and hair is in a calm state. Comparing performance and price to products available in the market, this is an all rounder performer.
I have fine oily hair. I used to wash daily but was told that would make the oiliness worse, so I tried to wash every second or third day using dry shampoo inbetween, but my hair looked terrible, even after a year of doing it. So I ditched my regular and for oily hair high street brands and looked for something more specific. Been using for a couple of weeks now and have noticed a difference. I have to wash my hair at night and in the morning it still feels fresh and light. I think I can get away with a second day without dry shampoo now. I recommend it, the only thing is it is expensive compared to high street brands, it's a small bottle.

I used the “Hair Reset” as part of a 3-piece set. I feel that the Shampoo review goes hand in hand with the conditioner review since I used the products in conjunction with each other. For reference, I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. And, I have long, somewhat thick (as in a lot of it), fine hair. I also have my hair lightened (ombré/bayalgae) and it’s not all over lightened. I feel like the shampoo made my ends a tad drier and would need to be a 2-3x a month clarifying product. I did occasionally use the shampoo back to back, when I was heavy handed with dry shampoo, mousse, and other hair products. I also tried to stretch out the length of time between hair-shampoos (my max was maybe 4 days, but 3 is generally my breaking point as I feel I have a dirty/unmanageable hair). The scent is nice, it is a fruity apple scent (fragrance is the 7th ingredient on the label for sensitive folks). This conditioner is kind of thin, not quite watery, but definitely not a thick formula. On most days, I needed a little bit more on the conditioning side as it’s been dry here this fall, and I potentially over used the shampoo as well. I would let this conditioner sit on my hair 1-3 minutes and occasionally, I would comb through the ends with a shower comb. But most days I needed more so I would add an additional conditioner to my ends (remember though, I have very long hair). But if you don’t have dry ends, this may be just fine for you. It is free of; silicones, petrolatum, mineral oils, parabens, and dyes. And, I do adore that Garnier is cruelty free. FYI Garnier is owned by L’Oreal and L’Oreal is not cruelty free. This specific product is labeled a vegan. Overall, if used on an occasional basis, I would recommend trying out this line. It is available at Walmart and at a very affordable price point. The scalp scrub/shampoo/conditioner is good after 12 months of opening, so just be sure to use it within that time frame. If your ends are drier, you may want to have a thicker conditioner on hand (just in case).lauren.b
Im one of those people that can't just waste a product, and ive been struggling to finish it. I have 2A long, thick, hair and got this when I saw it at Walmart, to try and help with my scalp buildup, and it makes it worse, and almost a waxy feeling on my scalp, and more dandruff. The sebum also feels worse and icky and my hair looks dull and lifeless. I even do the wash, rinse, and repeat to really lather it. After about 6months of use, I dislike it even more, yet I can't just throw it out and waste money. Save your money on this and go with a different clarifying shampoo or scalp cleaner. I think this is a pretty good clarifying shampoo that you can pick up from Walmart. I do like the scent; it’s a light apple scent. I used at least 3/4 of the bottle and overall, I feel it is a good clarifying shampoo (especially for this price point). Overtime though, I felt it made my hair dry. It wasn’t my daily shampoo but on some occasions I did use it back to back (I wash my hair 2-3 times a week). I used this as a 3-piece system (scalp scrub, shampoo, conditioner) and found that the conditioner was thin and needed following up with a heavier conditioner (see conditioner review for more). I’m unsure if this specific line/product is vegan. Overall, if used on an occasional basis, I would recommend trying out this line. Perhaps using only 2-3 times a month. If you use styling products often (mousse, gels, hair sprays, dry shampoo) and sometimes feel like you need something a little more to clean your locks, this may be right up your alley (or at least worth trying). I've only used this for maybe 4 times since I wash my hair every other day, but it's honestly doing wonders for hair already. My hair doesn't feel super oily on it's second day and I can probably extend my washes for more days if needed. I have been having an awful time lately with my oily roots – to the point that even after washing, my hair still looked greasy! I used this & I am pleased to say that my hair looks great! I don't care for the scent but I've never noticed a shampoo scent lingering in my hair anyway, so it's not a big deal. I am still on the hunt for a decent conditioner but I am thrilled to finally have clean looking hair & not have to wear it up or drown it in dry shampoo after having just washed it.
