I've been struggling to find a gentle shampoo that actually cleans my hair and then I found this! It may be clarifying if you have dry hair that doesn't need daily washing, but my fine oily hair needs this daily. This has a great amount of protein for me and the coconut oil helps prevent protein loss from daily washing. Using the matching conditioner is too much protein for me daily so I alternate it with a protein free conditioner. I was so excited to try the new Olaplex No.4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo and was not disappointed! If the world ever ran out of oil and we were faced with a National Oil Crisis.. FEAR NOT! My head could support the world and all its oil needs. I looked into Shampoo 3, which I associate with chlorine because decades ago when I was a swimmer I used this to protect my blonde hair. It was a different formula that was green then. Now my hair is dark blonde with darker roots (natural blonde) so it shows oil and buildup well. I have all kinds of filters to help with the hard water, but when it's that bad filters don't do much. This shampoo has a light blue tint and a subtle grapefruit scent. Shampoo 2 is clear with a softer lemon scent. I'm sensitive to dyes and fragrance and this doesn't bother me at all. I used this once a week and it really helps! I have so much volume after using this and my roots look great for days (I use another shampoo and wash my hair every other day). I really like this. I probably would need a purple shampoo to take the brassiness out of my blonde but I'm happy that this lets me go longer between washing my hair and does seem to remove some hard water buildup. This is drying. I just use it around my roots and then use a hair mask. If you have dry hair, then get in chlorine, then use this yes it will dry out your hair. But for my needs this has replaced shampoo 2

I am in love with Mizani’s gentle clarifying shampoo! I was surprised when I used it in the shower and saw it was grey in color. I then read it has charcoal, an ingredient that really pulls impurities out to get a deep clean. That was for sure the case here. I felt like my scalp was left so squeaky clean without feeling dry, as other shampoos tend to do when they strip moisture in the process of trying to clean your hair. However, this was so nourishing and my hair didn’t feel dried out, but still felt super light in texture and super clean. I was so thrilled with the results. In addition, it has coconut oil which leaves your hair baby soft and shiny. I am for sure a new loyal customer after this pleasant experience. I received this item for free from Influenster and Mizani in exchange for my honest review. I’ve only been able to test it out once so my review will have to be based off my first impression. For starters the amount of product you receive is very generous compared to other midrange price shampoo products. The moisture fusion moisture shampoo was a creamy, white texture and color and gave me a really nice lather. It’s scent was really one of my favorite parts, it had a faint clean scent that I’m still able to smell even after an hour after washing my hair (which my hair doesn’t hold on to scents as long). As for performance it definitely left my hair soft and smooth after application. After air drying my hair it is still very silky and soft. I deal with dandruff and this shampoo did a great job at leaving it clean while keeping my scalp moisturized. I would have to try this for a little more before being able to fully recommend this product, but so far so good.xoisabel

Bought this on impulse as I loved the smell. However this is amazing shampoo and leaves hair feeling really clean with a nice shine. Even better, I toned my hair recently, leaving it purple. The scent smells good and fresh, just like what its made out of. The size is bigger than what I thought which was cool to see. the package came in fine and in good conditon, no leaking. I usually use this for my scalp more since thats where most of the sweat or oil gets trapped in – I have only use it twice and so far it makes my scalp feel fresh and clean. The first time i used it on my scalp, i think i applied and washed twice and that made the hair near my follicles feel kinda dry. so i guess its best to use it once only. It seems that my scalp just doesn't agree with clarifying shampoos. I've tried 2 and had the same problem: my scalp became even oilier. I think that happened because the shampoo striped down my scalp too much and it triggered it to produce more oil. with that said, it's a good quality shampoo. I like the packaging and the size of it and it did make my scalp feel fresh for a little while. Not the biggest fan of the scent but it didn't really bother me. My hair felt soft. The scent of lemongrass is heavenly to me. Not heavy at all. Other than that I have a bleached, colored, fragile hair and this shampoo performs very well considering it being so affordable and having friendly ingredients. I also had issues with dandruff that stopped once I started using Acure shampoos – great benefit to my scalp. I will definitely continue using and recommending this to others. I’m a big Oribe fan. I think they make fantastic products and the smell is to die for. I even buy their perfume. Along with their oil and shampoos I use. Now with that being said I was very excited to receive this product. Both because I’m a big dry shampoo user and a new mom if that doesn’t say enough… yea. And also because oribe isn’t a cheap brand and I figured their dry shampoo must be top notch. So my thoughts – smell is nice but I wouldn’t purchase this product again. If you need a dry shampoo more for texture when styling clean hair this is very light, doesn’t add weight, doesn’t add color (white out effect very common from other brands) and will add a light texture for hold. This is not a dry shampoo for actual dirty unwashed hair. I still had pieciness on top after using PLENTY of product. In fact I think that’s another flaw I needed to spray way to much just to get a basic absorption of oil/grease. So I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this product for a dry shampoo if you need it for dirty hair. I would for maybe one day dirty or styling needs. I have very oily hair and am always on the hunt for a new dry shampoo that actually works. This dry shampoo comes in a large bottle, the button is a little hard to push to dispense the dry shampoo evenly – you have to really hold it firm. It does smell really good though and has a kind of luxurious smell to it. I have used it multiple times now when my hair gets to the point of looking like you can pop popcorn on it. I have brunette hair and it hasn’t been noticeable when I sprayed it on. I followed the instructions spraying a little ways away and on the roots. Then once you let it sit you can brush through your hair. It has helped dampen the oils a little and given me an extra day to go without washing my hair. The gold adds a cute bonus touch as well that gives my hair a little sparkle in a good way. The reason for 4 stars is because $48 is an insane price for a single bottle of dry shampoo and just not doable for the average person. I would consider this to be a premium brand at this price. This dry shampoo works well, I would say a solid 8/10 in terms of oil absorption and adding volume at the roots. Why the 5 stars though? Gather round, y’all. I was headed out with my husband and sprayed 4 shots of this into my hair in the car. He never comments on any perfumes, hairsprays, etc. The man went on for 5 solid minutes about how amazing it smelled and how he wanted the whole house to smell exactly like this product. He made me go to their website to see if they sold candles of this scent. They, sadly, do not. Flash forward to tonight. I came across this shampoo at a Tj Maxx and once I read the back I knew I had to take it home with me. It seemed very promising as far as detoxing the hair from product buildup. The lather is great and the smell is as well BUT even though I used conditioner afterwards my hair was stiff and hard as a board. It not only removed the product buildup but it completely stripped my hair color. I was shocked when I looked in the mirror only to see that I no longer had any dye and my grey hair made it seem as if I hadn’t dyed my hair in months. I gave it three stars because it did remove buildup but removed color as well which wasn’t stated in the description. Unless you want to strip your color I don’t recommend using it.madelene.a
I purchased the product to cut the buildup in my hair. I've tried other clarifying shampoos that work pretty good but this product goes above and beyond. My hair is bouncy again and surprisingly my color is MORE vibrant after using it. I use Redken "blondage" shampoo a couple times per week to keep my blonde hair from getting brassy and it works fantastic! I think bouncing between shampoos really "mucks up" my hair. This product has completely restored my hair back to post coloring 🙂BRS
Not for every day in my opinion. This is a cream but still pretty harsh, especially for dry, fine hair such as mine. I use this every few months to get any residue out from left-over product. Any more than that would really strip my hair too much. But keep in mind that I have really dry hair. If your hair is oily, this might be just the thing. I fell in love with this right away, paired with the Glossifying Shampoo after a fresh trim. Used with the brush dryer, you'll see smooth, sleek shine. I followed up with the plant serum in the green bottle & the straightening lotion & some mousse. This changed the entire look of my hair which was frizzy and dull, and turned it into straight, glossy (but not oily or greasy) and nicely set. Only problem I find is after several washings, my hair seemed to "get used to it"and it wasn't detangling as much as in the beginning. My first experience with L'ANZA products was when I received a sample. My hair is very thin and fine, so I'm always looking for products that give it more body. I loved the sample and immediately ordered the thickening shampoo and thickening conditioner when I saw that they were an option. I can't say that the thickening was much different from the samples that I had tried. However, these products do not weigh my hair down and do leave my hair shiny with no loss of color fading. I find that my hair dries much faster and the styling seems to stay very well also. Obviously, I am very happy with these products! Lovely smell and made my hair feel really soft. Also made it easy for a comb to go through my hair. However, I was disappointed when I realised it contained sls. I have avoided this ingredient for almost a year so I realised straight away when it had an extreme lather. I assumed with this being a range targeted at curly hair that it would be free from this ingredient.

I would like to share my very real opinion about this product. I have used other clarifying shampoo products in the past that I was not fond of so I had some reservations. The bottle has a very simple but cute design and I like the slim cylinder style. On the bottle it says Ginger Root + Charcoal. So I was very curious as to how this shampoo was going to smell. My shampoo has to smell good! I fell in love with this shampoo right away from the amazing smell it had. If I had to choose a smell for my shampoo this would be it. I could describe it as that fresh salon smell… but better. I always wash my hair twice and especially with clarifying shampoo, but I dont think I would have to with this shampoo because it feels clean after the first time. My experience with past clarifying shampoo that I have used was that it left my hair feeling very dry and stiff like. So that was my worry with this stuff. After blow drying I was quickly surprised by how soft my hair was. It felt great. I have purple hair and most of the time I keep my hair purple. Clarifying shampoo tends to strip color from my hair. I have used this shampoo several times and have yet to see that happen. I must say I really liked this shampoo and will be buying it in the future. I hopped in the shower and squeezed a fairly generous amount of shampoo into my hand. I have long, fine hair which I wash daily as it is prone to becoming oily. As soon as I started massaging my scalp, I noticed a few of things: Firstly, the lather is VERY rich. My hair was literally puffing up and volumizing in the shower as I massaged. I don't know that I've ever had an experience quite like this with any shampoo I've used previously. Secondly, I was very surprised that this shampoo had a soft, botanical scent. I didn't SMELL ginger or charcoal (however one might expect charcoal to smell). Thirdly, I felt something happening to my scalp almost immediately. I want to call it a tingle, but it wasn't quite a tingle. My scalp felt tighter. I guess the only way to describe it would be to say I felt something WORKING. When you use a shampoo regularly, it can cause buildup you don't even take notice of until you switch to something else. I could actually feel this shampoo clarifying my hair. That sometimes slippery feeling left behind after using regular shampoo and/or conditioner did not occur with this shampoo. The last test of this shampoo, was my drying experience. As I mentioned, my hair is fine. There are days when blow drying my hair causes static and flatness. This shampoo made individual strands behave differently (in the best way). I had volume in my hair as the end result. The strands were just falling into place and my hair feels fuller. This is a salon quality shampoo. I have no doubts about it. Just to preface: I have tightly textured, dense, low porosity hair. Some may say type 4A/B or even 4C. I don't wash my hair very often because it irritates my oily scalp. I don't use product because it builds up tremendously leaving a gray cast on my hair. My scalp makes too much natural oils for product. When I learned this I stopped using leave-ins and stylers and stopped over washing. Even with these changes I still get build up due to once again high sebum production and low porosity. I already use oil for cleansing my face and have gotten the best results clearing up my oily skin using this method. I figured if it works well for my skin it would work for my hair and scalp. I was a little nervous to buy this because it contains Shea butter, which always weighs my hair down. I’ve been dealing with an itchy scalp for the past few years and the only thing that has helped was OGX tea tree shampoo, but I didn’t like how it made my hair feel, and I wanted something that was better for my wavy hair. I have 2A/2B low-porosity hair. This shampoo comes out as a runny liquid so I use the tip to apply it directly to my head. It doesn’t sud up as much as a normal shampoo, but it still produces suds. After rinsing it out, my hair feels very moisturized healthy, and my scalp feels extremely soothed. I 100% recommend this shampoo! I have reddish brown hair that has waves. The kind you can't just let air dry because it looks like you slept in it and it looks neither straight nor wavy. I live in a high humidity area and not even my Redkin was solving my frizz problem. I tried my daughter's Ouidad and loved it… but I can't afford to use that every day. Plus, my daughter needs a very deep conditioner (and Ouidad has been working for her) and I don't. I wanted something affordable that worked for me. I wash my hair with a moisturizing conditioner, squeeze out the water and then apply this to my hair… medium amount. I twist it up in a clip while I finish my shower and then rinse out. It has been wonderful. Has reduced my frizzing like nothing else (except the Ouidad- which, again, is not in my happy zone price wise). I love it. I use it as an every day conditioner. I had been using Curlsmith shampoo and a mix or curlsmith or ouidad styling products. No matter what I did, how much product I used or how often I shampooed my hair never felt CLEAN. I'd give this 4½ stars. I know this line is for curls, but I have type 1 hair and I like this shampoo. I have oily roots and usually use , but after several years I feel like my hair is used to it. I live in an area that's 100/100 on the hard water scale, and while I don't use products I need something to clean my dark blonde hair once a week. I had been using , but it's drying and I prefer it just for chlorine. I was getting something else on Ulta when I saw this and decided to give it a try. This uses citrus to clarify, though you should be aware unlike other shampoo in the brand this isn't sulfate free if that's what you're looking for. This is a gel like texture, mostly clear but slightly yellow. And while there is a citrus scent it's covered up by perfume which I don't appreciate. It's not so strong it lingers, and if you've read my other reviews you know haircare is where I have most of my allergic reactions but I can use this fine. It's also expensive, 8.5oz for $18 and 33.8oz for $50 though I'd have to go to the brand's website to get the larger size at a better price per ounce. I do feel like this does a good job cleaning my hair without striping it as promised. I don't love the scent, but it's not a big problem. The price is easier because it's a once every 1 to 2 week shampoo. I also don't need a lot, but again I have fine hair and not curls. All in all I really like this shampoo and will keep using it.
Like most curly-hair individuals, I have a magnificent collection of hair products. Therefore, I need a clarifying shampoo every once awhile. My hair is well-moisturized, but to keep everything curly and pristine I have to use some pretty heavy product. This did nothing. I'm pretty sure I used 1/4 of the bottle to get through my hair in one wash, and I only wash once a week. There are better products out there with better ingredients for less money. This shampoo SAVED my hair. I’ve been using Native shampoo conditioner for about 6 months and I noticed my scalp start to have so much dandruff. It was REALLY bad. My hit also seemed really oily pretty quickly. At this point, it felt like I just couldn’t get it out no matter how long I rinsed. There was just lots of build up. This shampoo literally saved my hair. After one wash, it felt significantly better and actually clean. I paired it with the curl quench conditioner on my ends (even though I have straight hair) and use a little on my scalp and my hair looks and feels so much better. I honestly picked this because it was the cheapest clarifier I could find with a good amount of fl oz. I was comparing to other brands. This clarifier is very good and I am glad I picked it up. I had such high hopes for this brand, and especially the shampoo. I love the way the bottle looks it's so cute in the blush color, and I've heard great things from so many people about that they love the shampoo. I hate it. I need a clarifying shampoo because once a week I put a ton of oil, and sometimes hair masks as well, on my hair. I'm trying to regrow my hair, a little bit over a year ago I was completely bald, so I use mostly biotin and Castor oils. My regular shampoo washes them out pretty well, as well as my cheap drugstore shampoo, even it washes the oils out okay. I just wanted a clarifying shampoo for these weekly hair oil treatments. This shampoo did not wash the oil out of my hair at all! I was worried after shampoo because I didn't feel that squeaky clean feeling I expect from a clarifying shampoo, but I kept going thinking that maybe it was just more moisturizing than others. Nope. I got out of the shower, blow dried my hair, and it looks like I still have a ton of oil in my hair, probably because I do. I really don't understand how this is a clarifying shampoo, I even shampoo twice in my shower too, that's my routine I always shampoo twice but especially when I have oil in my hair. My first order of business today will be returning this thing to Ulta and getting the Ouai Detox that I should have just splurged on in the first place. Then I need to rewash and blow dry my hair again, for the second time within 24 hours which is infuriating. Add to all of that the fact that this thing doesn't have any scent that I can smell. I expect my hair care products to be highly scented, I prefer musky non floral scents but regardless it should be scented. When I stick my nose in the bottle I can vaguely smell something, but when using it in the shower and after: nothing, smells like literally nothing. Before finding about this product I had a hard time looking for a product that would help my oily and flaky scalp. I’ve used other brands and it has developed a build up on my scalp and it made it even more oily especially when I don’t wash my hair within 3 days. First time I’ve used this product I was surprised at how much you get just from a little pump! Do not use too much as it is foam! I feel like this product has changed a lot. What happened to the strong, beautiful Cote d'Azur scent? It used to smell so strongly that it would fill your whole bathroom with this gorgeous bergamot and musk aroma. It doesn't lather as well as it used to (even for a sulfate free shampoo); didn't feel like my hair was clean even after two rinses. I couldn't imagine using this if my hair was really oily. My hairdresser recommended this shampoo as the front of my hair would go solid when I ran the straighteners over it due to a build up of hairspray that my shampoo wasn't washing out properly. Smells clean and floral scent is nice, but causing hair breakage. I wash my hair a few times per week (this one once per week or longer and a high quality gentle salon shampoo) and since I started using this product about a month ago, I have noticed hair breakage. I thought maybe it was from just putting my wet hair up in a towel so I became more careful doing so or skipping putting it up, but after using the shampoo today and letting my hair dry a bit, I noticed several strands right at the side of my face had broken off by SEVERAL INCHES! It doesn't lather up very well. I know it doesn't have SLS in it, but that's not a problem for other products I have. So I have to use a lot more because of that. I was told charcoal helps with dry itchy scalps, which is what I struggle with. This does not help like other products I have tried with charcoal.
