I was using Bar Keeper's Friend to clean the interior of my All Clad pots and pans. I was hesitant to use on exteriors. I bought the All Clad Stainless Steel and Aluminum Cleaner and Polish for the purpose to clean exteriors. This product leaves both the interior and exterior of my pots and pans clean and shiny. So few products these days last a long time and typically you don't get your money's worth from your purchase. This is a product that will give you the results you expect for years to come. If I could post photos of my set from approx 10 years ago, I would. They have just a couple scratches from misuse from others who used them. I have the simply set series set just to be specific. My wife and I bought a new home and remodeling the kitchen from floor to ceiling. I am building a chefs kitchen and want really good long lasting products but with a pseudo tight budget. I research everything to death before I buy any product so it takes me months to make any purchase decision. I want it all….low price, health safe, durable, non stick, and easy to clean. I've looked at just about every bit of cookware from bluebird Canadian professional chefs fry pans to basic walmart aluminum pans. I know all the safety concerns with pfoa and ptfe and have kept that in mind while making my decision. Hard anodized cookware is safe if you dont use metal utensils and scratch it or leave a pot/pan on high unattended. Any cookware will release harmful toxic fumes if left on high…. Aluminum, stainless steel, etc. if you get ceramic it will just burn the surface and you will no longer have a non stick pan. Cast iron will always release more iron into your food….not sure how I feel about that….nor do I care for 20lb plus pots and pans. I've come all the way back around to my original set….simply calphalon. They are the whole package and tried and true. Funny how that worked. This is my first time ever writing a review online but I thought I would share since I'm sure there are a lot of people wanting the same as me. I've had these for such a long time, that I can prove the performance and durability. You won't be disappointed with this set. You'll have it for many years as long as you follow the care for them that is instructed. Hand wash, use a misto oil spray lightly instead of nonstick spray and never metal utensils. We received this set for our wedding a couple years ago. Although Calphalon's website says these are dish washer safe, we still had been very careful to handwash them. Well, somebody put the 2.5 quart in the dishwasher once and it's now completely ruined. The outside turned a light gray, makes a strange sparking sound when it's on the burner, and the inside is chipping. These pots and pans are way too high maintenance. So we received these for our wedding and after 10-years the non-stick coating is flaking off. I did not even realize it until a made a lemon custard. It was turning out BEAUTIFULLY with my coated whisk and then, as i stirred, I saw them. Black flakes in my velvet, yellow custard. I could not figure out what they were at first, but after I dumped the batch (too many to try to remove them all) I was looking for burned bits on the bottom but instead found missing coating. I'm a bit new to using cast iron pans. Most of my experience has been with cast iron has been by watching others try to use cast iron pans that aren't treated properly. After trying to cook with a cast iron skillet that's a whole lot older than I am (50 y.o.), I was shopping for a way to clean up my skillet after use. Well this little piece of stainless steel mess might look like it was cut from a medieval chest protector, but trust me on this one, it works. I use a heat a bit of lard in the pan before the dirty pan cools and then scrub it with the stainless tool. This really works like a charm. Then just wipe it out with a paper towel. My pan is starting to have the black sheen that I'm looking for and using my new stainless tool is definitely helping it get there. I definitely would buy the Chain Mail again and would suggest it to anyone that cooks on cast iron. UPDATE February 1, 2013: The chain mail definitely works well. It has really helped to smooth out the surface of my Womak skillet. It's really nice that the chain mail is easy to clean. A friend of mine uses a stainless pad that looks like it's h e double toothpicks to clean.

Absolute must if you're going to cook with ferrous pans! I also use it to clean my stainless pans and enameled dutch oven when they have baked on crud. I have no issues with the size of the scrubber – I have large hands and it's perfect size for four finger scrubbing. Why in the world would it need to be any bigger? One caveat – please, please, PLEASE do your reading and learn how to properly use and care for ferrous pans! If you feel the need to scrub them down to bare metal because you find the patina to be "unsanitary", then they (and this product) are not for you. Stick with Teflon, you'll be much happier.

I am just not blown away by this granite cleaner or polishing solution or whatever it is meant to be. I first wiped it down my granite of all crumbs and then I sprayed as instructed and used a soft cloth and I feel that it left behind a streaky almost oily residue. I also worry about the chemicals in it because my kids will drop stuff on the counter and pick it right up and eat it. I guess you could rinse with water and vinegar but why an extra step? I just feel like there are other products out there that do not even require chemicals that can shine my counter so much better than this. I do feel like it was a little bit more shiny but I think I am just already used to products that do such a great job that I was looking for something more from this product and I just didn’t find it. It makes it seem like it breaks down oil’s to get debris off of the counters as well but I had to scrub and scrub and then I got a different product and it came right off in seconds when I had been scrubbing for 30 seconds using this solution. I wanted to love it. I wanted it to be better than it was. But it just wasn’t. I have granite countertops in my kitchen and my bathrooms, and after awhile I have noticed that they started loosing their shine. I never had a clue that I was supposed to use a special cleaner to keep them looking like new, so therefore I was just using a disinfecting cleaner on them and that lead to my countertops looking dull and foggy. These are great. I bought these because I needed something that could scrub off hardened food, but I didn't want buy anymore sponges (bacteria) or brillo pads (rust). These-don't-rust and they scrub off food really well. I've added these to my list. I really like BKF products, especially the powder cleaner, but the spray foam version is a close second. The foam is thick, stays put wherever you direct the spray, and like all BKF products, it gets to work immediately. It performs just like the powder, but obviously you get more bang for your buck with the powder form. The spray foam is about convenience and makes cleaning certain areas easier since the cleanser stays in place such as the sides of a tub. It does indeed work but not as well as the non spray bottle or the can with just the powder that you mix yourself. The powder in the can is the best by far but you risk breathing in the dust that comes from it. I feel like the spray bottle would be good for minor work. The non spray bottle being the best of both worlds. More abrasive and no dust. The spray bottle seems to impede the grittiness that you can from the non spray bottle. One of my go to cleaning products ! Use it to clean walls , granite countertops, or any multi surface! You can dilute it with water if you don’t want it as strong ! Simple Green is an ALL STAR product that should have brand recognition on par with any juggernaut (effective brand or product). The magic green concoction should be in every self respecting consumer home and reminds me of home with just a whiff or even a glance at that green magic. (My) Mother the Master of CLEAN introduced me to this concentrate when tasked with cleaning our inground pools water line, a film and stain that became one of my running chores the moment I learned rhythmic breathing and only the most basic of swimming skills. To this day I continue to be godsmacked by Simple Green power while being organic or all nautral or wtf it tells us. Safe and effective on every surface I used it on – just makes sure you try a test spot blah blah blah (this you already know because this aint your first rodeo…). She really flexes on outdoor materials and surfaces (gutters, barns, brick, windows, vinyl, etc). I used Simple Green to clean the coils on my home outside AC unit coils. I wet the coils sprayed the coils, then rinsed them off. Works like a charm, cleaned the coils, left no residue. Also works nicely on the inside of my white fiberglass boat! Remove stains and smells good too!Big James
