I loved both SC Johnson & Dow products, but what happened to the quality (and quantity) of your bathroom cleaning products? I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. Lysol toilet bowl cleaner with 10 c the cleaning power does exactly what it's name states. This fights through water stains and kills up to 99.9% of bacterial. You will feel great about using this around your house and keeping your family healthy. The only reason I did not give this product a 5 would be for the smell. It almost has a liquorice smell which I am not a fan of. It was a bit overpowering for me. We decided to try this type of toilet tablet as we find that they help keep our toilets clean for longer that we don't have to scrub them as much. Normally we would get a brand where they are not blue but the store was out and we decided to give these a go. I normally do not like the blue color as i find in our toilets if you leave the color to long that it will leave a blue ring around the water line requiring me to bring out the old brush more often and giving it a scrub. This makes me feel like i wasted my money on the tablet that i had to bring the brush out anyway. That was the case for this product too. In addition it claims that they are supposed to last 4 weeks. Claims to last up to 4 weeks. I understand that never means 4 weeks but I am an elderly woman who lives alone and has one toilet. I'm disabled and have no visitors except my provider who works 4 hours a day and MAYBE uses the restroom once a week if that and one single disc only lasted 13 days. Also, the first 7 or 8 days the water is sooooo blue it's got clumps of the disc that hang on the bowl and I ended up having to clean it even more than once a day and then day 9-13 the water is barely blue at all. I used half the bottle of Limeaway and let it sit for an hour then used a scrub brush . It made progress. I took most of the water out of the toilet and used the other half of the bottle of Limeaway and let it sit for another hour then used the scrub brush and completed most of the rest of it. Still a spot so I’ll need to get more. First picture is the before the Limeaway but after the Kaboom. I didn’t take a picture of it before the kaboom unfortunately. Had 2 toilets with very thick scale build up. One toilet I cleaned with multiple applications of distilled white vinegar and the other toilet I cleaned with multiple applications of this. Scrubbing multiple times per day and adding more vinegar and lime-a-way every day resulting in taking about 7 days of soaking and scrubbing to clean the 1 toilet with vinegar. Using this took about 3 days of soaking and scrubbing with 3 re-applications. In regards to cleaning power. 1/2 a bottle of this is equivalent cleaning power to 1 gallon of vinegar. Which makes this more cost savings than using vinegar so I will use this from now on. Obviously, you need to use the right cleaning solution for the problem at hand. This is specially formulated for very coarse, very hard scale buildup on toilet bowls and might not be the best for other cleaning scenarios.David

Purchased this item for the first time since I love Soft Scrub. The packaging caught my eye and given the product "Soft Scrub" name I figured I could not go wrong. I followed the instructions which are easy to understand, the only complaint is the water never turned blue as the packaging states. I never had one day not to mention the packaging states "Blue Water for up to 16 weeks". I still cleaned the inside of the toilet as it too did not do as the packaging stated. Live and learn. I have an old toilet with a large tank, uses lots of water on every flush. I was a little skeptical that the recommended half bottle application would not be enough. The inside of the tank was horrifically discolored, very dark golden brown with noticeable rust stains around the sides. Even stirring the tank with a toilet brush or adding bleach did not do anything to remove the discoloration. I put in the recommended half bottle and figured it didn't do a full job of removing the discoloration, I would just do it again. It's easy to use. Just put in the product in the tank, give a good stir with the toilet brush, and go to bed. I was absolutely amazed at how clean the tank was in the morning. So impeccable the water looked as if the old tank was newly replaced. It was not a full 8 hours either, but closer to just 6 hours of sitting in the tank. I did not have to use another application because the first one was absolutely amazing. I had noticed before I used it that the water seemed to flow slower out of the tank when flushing. This was really the main purpose for buying it. I have to stay that it did improve the flow of water (probably years of gunk was clogging the tank's bottom draining system) out of the tank and I'm sure it's because the tank is very clean of all the sediment and calcification from years of use. Literally you can drink the water because it's as savoring as Alp's snow. (but don't try LOL) It was very much worth the money and I couldn't be happier with the positive detoxing results that came from this mesmerizing cleaner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!ISABEL

This product is amazing. My tank was nearly black on the inside (my sister thought it was mold) but i dont have a soft water system in my house. I belive it was mostly calcium and lime build up. Anyway. Poured half a bottle of this in the tank (the recommended dose per the directions on the back) let the tank refil with water and mixed it in with a sauce spoon (didn’t reall have anything else) a little over 12hrs later it was perfectly clean besides the couple spots my spoon couldn’t quite reach. I bought a Glacier Bay flapperless stool about two years ago. I have installed hundreds of the fluidmaster 400's and other fluidmaster ballcocks in my 50 plus years as a apprentice, journeyman, and master plumber, so I was happy to see the fill valve in the Glacier Bay flapperless stool. Having had extremely good service from the ones installed in customers homes in an area that is noted for hard water(the norm there is 21 grains, 7 is considered hard). I didn't worry that this one was horizontal rather than vertical. What I got was a valve that failed on me in about 6 months, by not shutting off completely. I bought a repair kit and rebuilt it, it lasted about 2 months. I bought a replacement head and installed it. I kept an eye on it found it leaking in about 3 months called fluidmaster, they said they hadn't found a cure for it, asked if the water was hard. Water here has a maximum of 3 grains of hardness, so it's soft. The head I bought at that time lasted about 3 months. I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly then reassembled it. It still leaked. I totally disassembled it and inverted the entire valve body. This lasted about 4 months. I am quitting the repairs. going to replace it with a dual flush.Retired Plumber

The instructions should be printed in a larger font with larger diagrams. For example, you have to figure out from the figure that the roller thingy on the supply tube should be roller side up. There are some real problems with a few of the parts: (1) I never could get the tank tight enough to make it straight up and without wobble. So I used the U-gasket from my old American Standard installation. Worked great first time. No leaks. (2) Using small hex nuts for the tank bolts doesn't work for me. Try finding a wrench that will work. Instead of hex head nuts my old installation used wing nuts. So I used those. MUCH easier tightening. (3) Instructions recommend using their supply line. I don't know anything about it, but I used my existing metal-braided line and it worked just fine. All flexible supply lines in your home should be metal-braided. (4) Why they even include that cheapo plastic handle is unknown to me. If your existing is metal, save and use it. The provided roller clamp was a surprisingly helpful little feature to save some water. Once I turned the water on there were no leaks anywhere. I adjusted the roller clamp to ensure the proper water level in the bowl. All done. After making the above-noted adjustments to the installation procedure, everything is working well.Glad it's over

after 10 years of using bleach tablets in TANK and one replacement of tank hardware we had a leak while on vacation. Chlorine eats away at washers and bolts. I had replaced all hardware and seals once with the red korky which are the most resistant but I still got a leak due to corrosion of bolt. All toilets now on this system. No bleach ever in tank, only goes to bowl which is porcelain and not susceptible to chlorine problems. $5k lesson learned. For any that say they tried and didn't see any bleach in bowl just give it a chance. Water between flushes sits in device and absorbs the bleach. If you just install and flush straight away you won't notice any bleach. Thats how it works and it does work.Ken

We bought an older house that had an older toilet with some really nasty buildup at the bottom of the toilet bowl. It was like concrete except it was brown and disgusting-looking. I tried every chemical on the market. I tried Coca-Cola. I tried a pumice stone. Absolutely nothing helped, and I finally gave up. Then I saw an ad for Zep. I bought a bottle and followed these steps. 1. I emptied the water out of the toilet bowl. 2. I poured in an entire bottle of Zep. 3. I left it overnight. 4. This toilet bowl cleaner should be called, "Wow!" My toilet bowl was a horrible, brown, disgusting mess. I tried all the usual toilet bowl cleaners, including white vinegar and baking soda, which I use on other tough stains, and nothing worked. I was at the point of replacing the toilet when I discovered Zep online. I didn't even drain the toilet bowl, but simply applied Zep under the rim of the bowl and let it flow down into the bowl. I purchased this ZEP Acidic toilet bowl cleaner on a whim. I was cleaning a house that had been vacant for more than 10 years. The toilets had more than a decade of hard water stains, rust, lime, calcium, and "unidentifiable" residue buildup cemented to them. I was certain the toilets would have to be replaced but felt I needed to at least try to clean them first so I wouldn't feel like a quitter. I used one application of this ZEP acidic toilet bowl cleaner and waited for 5 minutes – the stains started coming off! I was absolutely stunned. So, of course, I flushed the water down and tried another application right away. Again, I waited 5 minutes and this time almost all the stains were gone! I was gobsmacked. This stuff is amazing! We tried for years to get a hard water stain from bottom of toilet, nothing worked. Tried vinegar, CLR, and many things people suggested online. Each time shut water off, vacuumed out with shop vac let products sit overnight. No difference at all. Saw the reviews on this Zep thought what do I have to lose. So yesterday got it all set up no water left in toilet added zep enough cover bottom area. This morning chunks of the stain was floating on top the zep. I thought maybe starting break up. Okay, first of all, let’s talk about the value. The price for the two pack is amazing! I’ve used this for YEARS for my toilets and was always extremely satisfied. I recently moved to a state where bath caulk mildew seems to be the norm. I tried EVERYTHING I could think of apart from pure bleach. With two small children in the house, and limited bathroom ventilation (apart from two vent fans), I didn’t want to take the risk of using pure bleach, even diluted. Cue the social media suggestion. Someone suggested I use this product on the shower caulk for just a few minutes. I laid it on all around the edge of my stand up shower, where all the yucky mildew was, set both bathroom fans on, and left it for a few minutes. The gel does a great job sticking to the toilet bowl as can be seen in the photo. Unlike other cleaners that are not gel, they are very liquidy and drip right down to the bottom of the bowl. Clorox gel stick well, even after several minutes the gel still is stuck to the sides of the toilet bowl. This gel was photographed 2 minutes after it was squirted in the toilet bowl. Amazing it is still sticking. I like the fact that on the bottle it is advertised to stick 50 percent longer,and it does just as written on the label. I have always been on the search for a cleaning gel for my toilet and I did find some Clorox bleach gel. I did not know that they had a lemon scent one so I wanted to give it a try. It smells very light and it is not an overpowering scent. It dissolves stains very fast especially hard water stains. It kills 99% of germs and that is something that I always want in my bathroom. I apply this under the rim and I leave it for about 5 minutes just to make sure that it is doing its job then I lightly scrub around the toilet with my brush. A clean fresh scent and a sanitized toilet. I will definitely buy more of the lemon scent. This product can be found at Walmart. I did not see this at my other local store. Scrubbing Bubbles products are wonderful. I use this for the bleach factor. The ease of use is basically the same as any other competitor. It doesn't have all of the crazy scents as other brands. However, in about 2.2 seconds after you leave the bathroom, that smell is gone anyway. So let's think about this. The chemical smell added of "Ocean Breeze" cleaning in a toilet opposed to knowing the normal smell of bleach is disinfecting is more reassuring. When has an "Ocean Breeze" been known as a cleaner? I was very impressed with this product. We have hard water which quickly causes rough patches to build up inside the toilet bowl. This stuff really is thick enough to coat the inside of the bowl, and after letting it sit a few minutes, all of the scale was gone. No scrubbing was needed– but I did brush the bowl and under the rim anyway. After flushing, the inside of the bowl as as smooth and shiny as a brand new toilet would be. The only other product I've found that helped get rid of the build up still required some scrubbing, and the strong wintergreen fragrance turned my stomach. I bought this stuff to clean the metallic marks off Corelle dishes and bowls. It does a very good job. I tried other things, but nothing worked as well as this. It also works well on Stoneware. I suspect it would work with any kind of China dishes. You just dilute it with water a little and let it sit on the dish for a few hours. Knife marks gone. The price seemed very high, though. I couldn't believe my eyes honestly. I have well water and get horrible orange stains all over with every shower we take. I usually spray like scrubbing bubbles bathroom cleaner and then have to scrub away the stains for 45 minutes with a little brillo steel pad and that was so painful to do every week. Used the Limeaway on hard water stains in the toilet left from a previous tenant. I had never seen such a large thick hard water stain before. I had some kaboom bowl blaster left over and used that first. That made a lot of progress. They discontinued the kaboom so I decided to try the Limeaway to help get rid of the rest. I used half the bottle of Limeaway and let it sit for an hour then used a scrub brush . It made progress. I took most of the water out of the toilet and used the other half of the bottle of Limeaway and let it sit for another hour then used the scrub brush and completed most of the rest of it. Still a spot so I’ll need to get more. First picture is the before the Limeaway but after the Kaboom. I didn’t take a picture of it before the kaboom unfortunately. Had 2 toilets with very thick scale build up. One toilet I cleaned with multiple applications of distilled white vinegar and the other toilet I cleaned with multiple applications of this. Scrubbing multiple times per day and adding more vinegar and lime-a-way every day resulting in taking about 7 days of soaking and scrubbing to clean the 1 toilet with vinegar. Using this took about 3 days of soaking and scrubbing with 3 re-applications. In regards to cleaning power. 1/2 a bottle of this is equivalent cleaning power to 1 gallon of vinegar. Which makes this more cost savings than using vinegar so I will use this from now on. Obviously, you need to use the right cleaning solution for the problem at hand. This is specially formulated for very coarse, very hard scale buildup on toilet bowls and might not be the best for other cleaning scenarios.David

I now have aids that help me alot of them get the also my house smells so clean and fresh. Don't ever stop selling this works cleaner, it would force me into store hopping just to find it. I give it 5 stars bc it's the ONLY product I've found in over 20 years to ever remove iron build up. I've tried all other competitive brands and none have compared to The Works. Every home I've lived in outside of city limits has had iron water and this wreaks havoc on everything. I only use the toilet bowl cleaner, not the tub and shower or the the classic clean line. I don't feel like those two even compare to this type. I have used it in my kitchen, bathroom sinks along with shower walls bathtub and even my washing machine. I was hired to clean a home that had the worst iron buildup on they're shower walls that I've ever seen. I can't find a way to describe how bad it looked after 10 years of horrible iron water. I purchased a couple bottles of this and applied it. When the homeowner seen the results she was so happy and shocked that I was able to remove it. This will always been my number one choice and will be as long as I can buy it. The only negative thing I could even say is the strong odor from the chemicals, which is expected.
