I am a 63 year old woman and visit an aesthetician every 5-6 weeks for retinol facials. My aesthetician always cleanses my face prior to treatment. I was introduced to this product during a facial. I never believed in toners before just a good cleanser and then straight to serums, moisturizer and tinted moisturizer with sunscreen. If you are new to skin care and need a basic cleanser for oily skin or are in need for a second cleanser in a two step cleansing routine, this product does the job. First off, even though it is advertised for those with oily skin I have found it works well for those with dry skin as well (I have combination). It is just that the other product advertised for dry skin does not work as well for oily skin, this product on the other hand feels pretty universal. This product is however NOT FOR those who wear medium to heavy make up and want to use a single cleanser. There are other cleansers out there that remove makeup and cleanse at the same time in one cleanser, go buy those if you don't want to double cleanse or remove makeup beforehand using wipes or pads. If you wear very light makeup (meaning only foundation basically) this product can get rid of that just fine. For everyone else, this is the cleanser you should get if you don't want anything else in your cleanser (meaning you don't need your cleanser to exfoliate, brighten, soothe, etc). It is scentless, does not have any active ingredients, and is formulated really well (I'm not going to go into detail about ingredients, but just trust me in that it is a good list). As hinted at above, it also works really well as a second cleanser in a double cleansing routine, and as your cleanser after you remove your makeup with a pad or wipes. The highest praise I can give to this product is that it is super consistent. I have used 3 bottles in a year (so each lasts about 4 months) and have found that all 3 bottles felt identical in there feel, use, and effect. I have added and removed many products into my routine throughout the year and have simply kept this cleanser and it has had no adverse effects on my skin no matter what I was cleansing off or what I added to my skin after my skin. Having used it throughout the year, it also works just as well throughout the seasons not matter the ambient temperature in your house. Don't get me wrong – this product DOES work well at removing excess oil without leaving a gross, filmy residue on your skin. My face feels really clean after using it. I appreciate that it is fragrance free but the smell of it bothers me. It smells like a swimming pool and a bit chemical like which is a little off putting. My other complaint is that it leaves the area around my mouth feeling dried out compared to the rest of my face. Not sure what that is about, could have something to do with postpartum hormones, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're buying this however it's nothing that a moisturizer afterwards can't fix. I was going to put in an order tonight but the kind for oily skin was the only one available. My grandaughter uses that one bc she has/had acne. The rest of us use normal to oily. I may have to wait to put in my order. Since my grandaughter started using the one for oily skin twice a day her acne is gone, she's 21 now & was 17 when I bought her first bottle. my daughters & I use normal to oily & it's great, I've tried alot of other cleansers which dry my skin out. My friends think that this is too expensive, this pump bottle lasts me a long time bc I'm the only one in my house that uses it. I use it in evening, sometimes w/a cloth & sometimes w/clarisonic brush, either way my skin feels good after. I’ve been using this product for about 8 months now and it’s really cleared up my pigmentation, I do use it with other products to help clear pigmentation but I feel this really helps. It does run out quite quick I find, I also use this as a face mask occasionally too, it makes my skin feel lovely. I have rosacea and am in love with this product! I dont use it daily but instead it is my weekly exfoliator and is amazing. This was really nice to use as it felt like it was cleansing and it smelled really nice. i also must say it didn't dry out my face like my regular cleanser does, so that was a nice change. Skin Type – Combination skin, Firstly, my friends and I never use clean and clear cleansers because they use the beads which is bad for the environment. But when I saw in Walmart this cute packaging with no beads I immediately bought it. Plus I know very well lemon is not only good for your system but for your skin. When I tried it in the night while showering, lathered on my hand while my face was wet. The scent and cleansing process was so refreshing it felt all my tiredness went away. My routine is – Clean and clear cleanser, toner, Vitamin C serum, gel moisturizer, and eye plumping gel cream. The next morning my skin felt "tight", shiny, pretty reflective. People think the tightness is bad but it's actually go for my skin because I don't want it to sag I want my skin firm as a i grow older and from their I can pack as much moister from the tightness of my skin. So it's good. To keep in mind mostly focus on the oilyier part of your skin a tad longer, using circles with your hands than your drier parts. Other wise it will get itchy. The itchyness is not something severe it's prop because of the surface of your skin You can easily put aloe vera moisterizer if it keeps itching. Honestly, my overal reaction is great cause my face feels literally alive. My skin feels like its so refreshed in life lol. But I honestly think people who have oily or oily combination/ combination skin should try this. Make sure to use gel type moisturizer. It completes the whole refreshed feel and look after a spa. After decades of using Clean & Clear Essentials for sensitive skin I was disappointed when the formula changed and I stopped using it. But, then I stumbled upon the Lemon Gel Cleanser. I've used it for 2 weeks now. Love the lemony fresh fragrance and it removes makeup well. The consistency is perfect, not watery. Leaves my face feeling light and fresh. I have been using the cleanser for months now and recently I purchased the rest of the line. I read some other reviews and a lot of people are saying that it dried out their face. I experienced this when I first started using it. However, I realized that the problem was I was not following up with a moisturizer. If you are experiencing these problems, only use the cleanser once a day instead of twice and use a moisturizer after. I did this and I no longer experience any problems. Also, when I first used it my face was getting a lot more pimples. I was confused because I never really got many before. I realized, though, that it was bringing all the dirt to the surface. Keep in mind, if you haven’t really used a cleanser before it will CLEASE your face of stuff you didn’t know was there, so don’t be worried.

I switched from a physical exfoliant (scrub) to this chemical exfoliant (benzoyl peroxide). This product is much more gentle on the skin and still leaves my skin feeling soft right away. Over time, I have noticed much less breakouts/acne with this product! No more harsh scrub tearing up my skin, so it looks even more hydrated and glowy! I have combination skin, I get oily in my T-zone and have small patches of eczema around my eyes and mouth. I've used the classic CeraVe foaming cleanser/moisturizer/retinol serum/night cream for years. I did a course of strong meds a year and a half ago and it cleared my skin completely. After full-time mask wearing started up again, my acne came back a bit so I decided to try this cleanser after having such good experiences with all their other products. It cleared my skin after only a few days! But be careful – I developed a painful itchy rash around my lips and mouth that took steroids to clear up because of how much this cleanser irritated that area of my face. I've now cut down use from every morning and night to just once every other morning and I avoid my eyes and mouth with it. Great product! Benzoyl peroxide is perfect for hormonal/cystic acne — the red, inflamed, under the surface kind. I had been using salicylic acid for a while and didn’t understand why my acne was not clearing. Until my dermatologist informed me that SA is better for whitehead & blackhead type of acne (which I did not have). 4% benzoyl peroxide is a great amount if you’re just introducing benzoyl peroxide to the skin. I was writing because I have been a long time customer of this product. After having so many issues in high school and going through subscriptions of Proactive, this product was my saving grace and has done miracles on my skin for the last 15-20 years. After my last bottle was done, I was excited to see that you carried a new, larger size. My excitement quickly faded after using the product and noticed the formula wasn'tthe same….it was runny, felt like slime on my face, smelt like chemical (even though it said fragrance free), my face is completely oily and I am having breakouts like I'm back in High school (and I'm 39!). I am beyond frustrated and feel let down. I use your products for all things skin, including my 1 daughter with eczema. Is there anything you can do with this product? Continue selling old formula? I would rather spend extra on old formula than spend another cent on thos new formula.

I absolutely love this product, I am being 100% honest when I say that I am officially trading up my skincare routine to be using only Cetaphil Healthy Radiance products. It is formulated for ultra sensitive skin, they have it ranked on a scale of 1-5 so you can easily see that on the front of the bottle. It is unscented, it is light and lathers well and leaves your skin feeling clean but not like the oils have been stripped from your skin and it doesn't feel like it damages the moisture barrier at all. I have such sensitive skin that even most products made for sensitive skin will irritate me in some way and mostly leave my combination skin still feeling dry, especially in my problem areas where the dry skin seems to come back no matter what. With the healthy radiance I have not had any issues at all with dryness, those tough spots are gone and I really feel that is because of how sensitive it is on the moisture barrier! I have been a CeraVe loyalist for 5+ years, my mom works at a dermatologist office and always brings home samples so I was able to try a few and settle there for a few years. The texture is jelly-like but smith and viscous. The fragrance is sweet, honey/blossom like. I’m sensitive to fragrances, but it’s very mild. The product seems to interact well with my skin. My face felt clean and plump. However, the main problem I have is the jar container. There’s no scoop. It’s soft jell-o like consistency is finicky to pick up, but you also risk contamination. This is a mild, fragrance free cleanser suited to normal and dry skin types. I found that whilst it worked well for my dry, sensitive skin type, it is not as hydrating as the Cerave Hydrating gel to foam cleanser which is a newish release. It is a great first cleanse though, especially if you have makeup or sunscreen on as this cleanser is quite gentle and will not remove everything. I love using it during my non-active days (no retinol, acids etc) and for when I may have overdone it with chemical exfoliants and need to be gentle with my skin barrier. It also comes in a convenient pump and I use this on my body as well. Great if you have skin sensitivities and want something that isn't drying. Overall it is great value for money, comes in a large size that lasts a long time. It offers ceramides, hyaluronic acid and is gentle on the skin barrier. I've been using a prestige brand cleanser for years (it was $40 for much less product), but had to change to CeraVe after my doctor's recommendation. I started two Rx products from my doctor for adult acne, both of which extremely dry my face out. I needed a cleanser that is mild, doesn't contain soap, doesn't contain a lot of ingredients, and is lotion-like (doesn't foam). This cleanser is very effective and leaves my skin soft, clean, and hydrated. Doctor recommended too. Just remember it doesn't foam up like most cleansers, but you wet your face and lightly rub it into your face for 30 seconds or so, then rinse and pat dry your face. It gets your face ready for whatever you will be putting on it. At the very least, put on a moisturizer and SPF. I highly recommend this cleanser. I bought three of the largest bottles. The CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is a moisturising cleansing lotion that comes in a pump bottle. Like other CeraVe cleansers, this also contains three essential ceramides, and is fragrance free and non-comedogenic. This is perfect for my dry and sensitive skin, leaving it moist and soft without causing any irritation. This works best in my morning routine, as it is easy to use and helps to prepare my face for the rest of my routine. The cleanser does not lather up though does leave my skin feeling hydrated and nourished. One pump is sufficient for my whole face, but I don't think this product is intended to be used as a cleanser for a face full of makeup and sunscreen as it does not remove all the products. This works best for a basic clean and moisturised face. I love the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser as part of my morning routine, as my face feels clean, hydrated and nourished, and ready for the day. This cleanser is really strange. I received it as my birthday gift. It’s very thick and once you mix it with water and apply it and rinse it off, it leaves some kind of “film” on your skin. I don’t wear makeup so the only thing this product had to go though was my daily moisturizer (no other serums or anything). My face did not feel clean even after massaging the product thoroughly for two minutes or so. HOWEVER THE FRAGRANCE IN THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE. I don’t understand why there has to be a fragrance added to skin care (hello irritation!) in the first place and let alone a product that washes off your face. The smell is very synthetic/artificial and very strong. HOW IS THIS PRODUCT LABELED “CLEAN AT SEPHORA” when the ingredients are clearly NOT CLEAN ?!MartiniC
Generally speaking I love tatcha products. The cleansing oil and the water cream are part of my regular line up. I have tried this product twice, when it came as part of a set, and both times after a week of use I ended up with dry, flaky skin that resolved after I stopped using it. My skin is typically normal-to-dry but I also live in a very humid climate, so I wouldn’t say dry skin is a major problem for me, but with this product it was noticeable. I couldn’t wear any face makeup for a week or two because it would highlight the flakey spots. It has a lovely smell, and it feels nice, and the light texture seems to vanish when it’s rubbed in (I’m not sure if it provides any exfoliating at all, it’s so fine and disappears so quickly), so two stars for “cosmetic elegance,” but ultimately it is not for me. I really can’t understand how this would be called “hydrating” or described as not “stripping” the skin because neither of those were true for me.sarahs310
This wash feels extraordinary and you really have to compliment tatcha for the formulation here if nothing else. There is a mild "grit" to the cleanser when it first comes out of the tube which immediately dissolves as you rub your hands together and spread it over your face. It never creates a harsh lather, but rather cleans your skin almost like an balm or an oil, easily removing dirt and oil from your pores. It feels very rich never leaves you dry. I think this would probably work for all skin types with exception to extremely oily skin. If you've got very oily skin or clogged pores, I recommend the Hyper Skin Gentle Brightening Gel, which is my favorite cleanser at the moment for reducing the look of pores. This Tatcha rice wash comes in second place, as it's super calming and I always reach for this when I want a cleanser to make me feel like I'm at a spa. Be aware that their is some mild fragrance. This really shouldn't cause any issues even on sensitive skin, BUT as always if you have a damaged skin barrier from going too hard on the chemical exfoliates or treatments (can look like small red patches or general stinging when applying products) then I would put down all fragrance products until your skin heals.boyskinJJ

I started using the Ordinary products about 4 months ago and they completely changed my skin, they helped more than anything I had ever tried before. Everyone commented on how amazing my skin looked. The flaky dryness disappeared, I had less blackheads and my hormones didn't affect my skin as much. I recently brought this in a large size as well as the moisturiser and I don't know if it is me or something is different with the product, but my skin is back to flakey and dry. I never had any sensitivity issues with the products, but now the cleanser feels like it burns, my skin feels sore and the products don't feel like they are working. I also feel like the moisturiser burns, and it was my favourite product ever, so im gutted. My skin hurts all day. I don't know if I'm meant to push through and it's some form of purge my skin is doing or if out of nowhere my skin has decided the products no longer work? People are still commenting that my skin is glowing for the most part if they aren't to close to my forehead, but the cleanser isn't meant to hurt right? Can you get a sensitivity to something out of nowhere? I would definitely tell people to try these products as when they work for you it's fantastic, I think the issue is me at this point which sucks.Max
I love this stuff so much I started enjoying double-cleansing again after taking a year's hiatus. I've been double-cleansing for YEARS – before it was really a "thing" in the beauty world – and I've used everything from straight up carrier oils to cleansing balms. Though, I stopped double-cleansing because I felt it a pain in the butt to have to over-rinse to remove residue or oiliness, which would cause my dry skin to become even dryer and tight… and that's why this is the best. The creamy product turns to silky emollient upon application, and rinses away like nothing. It removes even my most stubborn makeup effortlessly and within seconds, and without needing to scrub hard or for long. Meaning, this added step hardly feels like an additional step in my multi-step skincare routine. For best results: I do recommend applying on dry skin, and gradually apply wet fingers to the eye area to remove makeup, and rinse with a cloth and water… Not just water alone. I've read reviews complaining about leftover mascara residue — but I just don't understand it. The first time I used this I was floored at how it removed ALL traces of my makeup with such ease. I could've carried on without double-cleansing. And it's never let me down since. It even seems to be helping with my pores and sebaceous filaments. Though it's not an instant fix. Overall, it's effective, hydrating, gentle, easy-to-use. I'm not sure what more one could want. My biggest gripe is that the smaller bottle doesn't last long, as sometimes you need a little more product than you'd think, but for the price, I can't really complain. Cleansers aren't a 1 size fits all, but I fell in love with this brand after trying their zinc serum & peeling masks (which, paired with my 'clean & clear gel cleanser,' completely fixed my oil & texture problem!), so I was excited to give this a try too. However, I suppose this isn't for people who, like me, are recommended to using "gel-like consistency" for their dry skin [via their esthetician]. After immediate use of this product, my forehead still felt clogged and textured, and oil production was visible on my nose just seconds after. I woke up feeling especially congested, and chose to give this product a 2nd try – this time doubling the amount, and taking more time heating it up and massaging it in. *This was also on my 'ordinary AHA/BHA exfoliation mask morning', so I was curious if that would make a positive difference. However, the results were the same, even with the mask that I swear by. I will be going back to my old drug store cleanser and just enjoying pairing it with the Ordinary serums and masks instead. **The BENEFIT however: was that on the small dermatitis patches I'd developed from wearing/reusing n95 masks 8 hours long every day, are now A LOT less flakier. I'm not sure if it's thanks to this cleanser, or the +HA Ordinary moisturizer, but I will keep this regime only for the perioral area until it's fully treated, and my drug store cleanser for the rest. this cleanser is fantastic!! it made my face feel smooth and perfectly clean from the first time I used it! It removes skin of dryness/dulness and really makes your skin brighter and clearer. I really love the scent of the product, it's not super potent but you can tell it's there. If you can afford this product, then I was say go for it because you really haven't got anything to loose! 5/5 stars.
this is one of my favourite cleanser foam I have ever used. A rich-foaming mousse cleanser with silky and smooth touch really works for my oil combination skin. it doesn't strip my face and leave face dry because it contains high concentration of glycine which nurishes the skin. Brightened results are not visible since i have only used for less than a month. The smell of the product is really awesome, very soft, fresh and elegant. Dispensing a small amount of cleanser on the palm of the hand and applying to the face and neck, it perfectly removes my excess sebum and dead cells. However, my husband who is sensitive dry skin tried it once and didn't appreciate it. He thought the cleanser left his face dry and uncomfortable. This product is great for a gentle exfoliation, which is best for facial skin anyway. I feel comfortable using it and it is not irritating with my sensitive skin. It has a nice mild sweet fragrance. I use this product twice a week on my face and actually leave it on my face for a few minutes as a mask when I'm in the shower. It does leave my skin feeling soft immediately after, but that's what most exfoliation products do for me anyway. I will most likely continue to purchase this product because I do like how it does not irritate my skin. I've been trying to find the perfect fragrance-free cleanser for very dry, sensitive skin. Sadly, this isn't it. I use retin-A, so that leaves my skin a peeling, flaky, irritated mess. So it is tough to find something that won't leave my face tight and dry after washing. This cleanser did a decent job, probably better than most, but I still had tightness and dryness immediately after use. The most upsetting thing was that the ingredients list makes no mention whatsoever of any natural or artificial fragrance/parfum. Yet this is so intensely scented that you feel as if you are washing your face with heavily scented body lotion! Granted I do love the coconut creampie scent, but that doesn't mean I want to wash my face with it! Best thing is that this cleanser is vegan and cruelty-free.Anonymous
I have figured out my face enjoys cream cleansers as they tend to be more gentle and hydrating. This one definitely works for me! A little goes a long way! I usually used a pea sized amount, so I know that this bottle is going to last me for awhile. I've been using it for about a month now and no reactions and my face stays calm. I'm a redhead with extremely sensitive skin and after struggling with reactions to natural products and periocular dermatitis, I was using a line that had very minimal ingredients but was hard to get and expensive. I'm a skin junkie and veteran when it comes to maintaining my skin barrier while also regularly using retinol, acids ect. and its been a few years since I last made that mistake. so I'm not sure why when I began to use this product consistently she burned and stung my face giving me raw skin. I had always reached for her every then and again when I wanted to use a gentle cleanser and I have never had a problem. yet when I began to use it day and night only I saw the first warning signs of slight burning the day before and dismissed it. well tonight I could barely rinse it off. it burned and made my face and made it feel tender. unfortunately that will be the last time I use it too. this does make my face feel very clean but often dry afterwards (i use tretinoin most nights though so my skin is already easily stripped), it’s never made me breakout and has kept any acne from flaring up. a little goes a long way, literally a pea sized drop will lather your whole face (not if you’re wearing eye makeup though). it is an amazing cleanser to use after getting sweaty or dirty and that’s the best thing i have to say. i use waterproof mascara and this does remove it but i have to rub too much for my liking, and sometimes it makes my eyelashes clump together if i don’t use enough. my under eyes are irritated from the friction and it always feels like there’s some mascara left behind, i can’t rub my eyes without feeling like i’m tugging on my lashes. it gets the makeup off, but not before it dries out my eyelashes and under eyes from having to rub so much. i use banila cleansing balm mainly for my eyes, then i double cleanse with this after just to use it up. i won’t be buying again though, pyunkang yul’s low ph deep pore cleansing foam is my holy grail and i’ll be sticking to that. i bought it off ohlolly for like $14 and removes my waterproof mascara just as well as banila’s balm does, and it’s even better because it doesn’t leave my eyes foggy like the banila balm. definitely try pyunkang yul or even banila over this if you’re looking for a waterproof makeup remover and cleanser that is truly gentle.heyhannie

I’m back with another piece of treasure from my Allure beauty box! This is probably the tiniest little cleanser bottle I’ve ever received, and I’ve used a lot of small samples (take look at the size of my thumb for comparison in the photo). This is a pretty clean and simple cleanser with prebiotics – something I am beginning to see more and more in new skincare cleansers and creams. This also contains good for you ingredients like aloe vera, and is 100% fragrance free. This came out completely clear, with the thick gelatin-like consistency of a squeezable jam. I could barely feel this on my face as I was working up a lather. This product does not lather nearly as much as other cleansers, especially if you’re like me and are more conditioned to “foaming” cleansers that foam up into giant clouds. So it’s clear, you can’t smell it, and you honestly can barely feel it. This is the gentlest cleanser I’ve ever used, and the formula harmonized seamlessly with the Ph of my skin. What I enjoyed about this cleanser was that it did not strip my skin of natural moisture, created absolutely no eye irritation even when scrubbing near my eyes, and left my skin feeling clean and prepped for my skincare routine. What this product does not do is exfoliate. I did struggle a bit with this quality, because my extremely dry skin typically could use some exfoliation at least once a day. When I brought this into the shower with me, I could tell there was a lot of dry skin that had not been properly exfoliated off after using this cleanser. If you have this concern like I do, I would recommend maybe starting with an exfoliating scrub and then using this product more like a finisher to polish off whatever remains after your exfoliation. Works better as a makeup remover than a true skin cleanser. I have 47 year old dry skin and wear a full face of makeup most days. I am very impressed that this cleanser is able to remove all of my makeup, including eye makeup and mascara, in a single cleanse without the need to double-cleanse. Little if any traces of makeup are left behind. It is not at all drying or stripping to my skin, as I've tested that by waiting 20 minutes after washing my face to see if my skin felt tight. It did not. It starts out as a gel and with water, lathers into a silky substantial cream. I love that it has no added fragrance ingredients. This is my new go-to cleanser.geekoutofwater
Okay, this one surprised me! I’m usually wary of new cleansers, especially since some of them can be simultaneously stripping and not good at removing makeup. Thankfully, this gel cleanser doesn’t fall under that category. I was so taken aback by how gentle this was and how well it worked as a makeup remover and cleanser in one. It supposedly tones too, but I didn’t notice any of that in my experience. It doesn’t really lather, which is fine! Nonetheless, my face still felt clean after using this, but still retained moisture. Also, I love that it has such a simple formulation at only 10 ingredients (and none of them fragrance)! Plus the bottle is made up of partially recycled material. Finally, it’s suuuuper cheap. What a steal at that price!! If you have combo-dry skin, I’d give this one a shot since it’s not overly drying!Sasha00Fierce
