I was very excited & grateful to have been chosen to try Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo. #trywithtopbox #freeproduct I have type 3B curls, and I have been wanting to try Shea Moisture products for quite some time now, but just didn’t get around to it. I have been using the Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo for a month now. I really like the coconut scent, it lathers really well and I was very pleased that a little goes a long way as I have very long and thick hair. I wash my hair every 3rd day, but I wet my hair and condition it every day. I have been using the Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Conditioner the 2nd day. I always use leave in conditioner but that day I had to use double the amount of what I normally use. Otherwise my hair felt & looked dry & frizzy. The product definitely did help with detangling my hair, not totally, but to a great enough degree where I was pleased. I didn’t notice any improvement in shine though. I was hoping to experience much more of an overall difference from all the various products I have used in the past. No huge noticeable difference, and more expensive than what I currently use. I love that Shea Moisture Curl & Shine Coconut & Hibiscus Shampoo contain no silicones, parabens, no phathalates, no petrolatum & no mineral oil. Thankful to have found and purchased this amazing shampoo. My desire to nourish and manage my natural 4C porosity hair came with a challenge. However, I remembered, that I purchased this shampoo and matching hair masque. However, for the information on Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, the page is unavailable. My budget is tight at the moment, but I usually save up for what I need. I need the Hair Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque. Therefore, to increase the benefits to my damaged hair I gathered a portion of the Curl and Shine Hair Masque and combined it with a hint of tea tree oil, fresh rosemary water, rose water, and peppermint oil. Leaving in my hair for 30 minutes. My hair texture is incredibly moist. I shall continue this mixture until I am able to locate and purchase the High Porosity Moisture Replenish Masque, which I already know is perfect for the restoration of my hair. The chemical perm greatly damaged my hair, thinned my hair, and broke my hair off in places. After two years of studying Cosmetology without desiring to work in this field, I have learned valuable new detailed information about hair on my own. Your products live up to the authentic purposes mentioned. In conclusion, I am looking forward to growing my hair back to my desired length with thickness, sheen, and shine. So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. Overall, on straighter finer hair, I'd say use the conditioner thoroughly but rinse very well and easy on the styling cream. I didn't experience any waxiness anywhere.Thali22

I really wanted to like this product! I was excited to try it, It smells greattt! But I naturally have super thick/long hair and it did not do a good job of making my hair feel clean. My hair still felt dirty, greasy and itchy when I got out of the shower. It also produces very little suds, which is something I need a lot of to properly clean my thick hair. I even reapplied it, and tried to emulsify it while in the shower and still nothing. It might be a good one for some, but for all my thicker haired gals, this isn't the one. Just a heads up!Karigan

I work at Ulta so naturally I love trying different products. Since it’s close to summer I wanted to stop styling my hair and instead start wearing it natural (in the summer it’s just way too hot to style my thick hair and the humidity makes it not last anyways!). However, I have wavy hair with the potential to be curly with the right shampoo/ styling products. So, I wanted to try the coconut curls line to see if I could enhance my waves/ curls and it worked! I brought this product for a cheaper alternative. I was really disapointed with the results and damage ir had done to my hair. It made me lose hair, made my hair dry and frizzy. Although it smells nice its completly ruined my curls and turned them back to frizz. Not a good product. Shea moistuer is amazing!! It is just quite expensive! However it nutures your curls and revitlize them in the long-term.123

I love all the nourishing and moisturizing ingredients in this conditioner, which bring a little taste of the tropics to the dry climate where I live. It has a medium thick consistency to it, which I prefer over being too runny, or too thick making it difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. I leave this conditioner on while I am performing the rest of my shower routine. This way I can give the conditioner enough time to soak into my freshly shampooed hair. I have pretty dry hair so this coconut oil conditioner does it wonders. Once it has been on my hair for a sufficient amount of time high brush it out under the running water. I have very tingle prone hair but this conditioner makes detangling a breeze. After rinsing out the product I am left with silky smooth hair that smells amazing. My mom has thick, coarse hair so I had her try out this conditioner as well. She too was left with beautiful, silky hair after using this conditioner! I have wavy hair and this conditioner really brought out and defined my wave pattern. I think this would be a lovely conditioner for others with wavy to curly hair. Hair background: I have medium to high density hair. My hair is medium porosity type 4a natural hair. Product: This conditioner has a thick consistency. it is white and has a very pleasent scent. in terms of the packaging I wish it was bigger because you tend to use more conditioner than shampoo as a curly girl. so I would change the packaging to be bigger and also an upside down packaging to help with product flow. Product on natural hair: Not sure if it is safe for color treated hair. However it worked well on my un-color treated hair. This conditioner is not as conditioning as other conditioners which is the main reason why I rated it as I did. it absorbs very well into my dehydrated hair but it didnt condition it well. It also did not have alot of slip and I found detangling my hair with flowing water easier than detangling my hair with this conditioner. it is an overall ok conditioner for natural hair but it needs a follow up leave in conditioner. Very weak, I was expecting a higher concentration since it say's 100% peppermint oil. I used other 100% extracts before and I know how intense they are supposed to be. This one is already diluted from 100% oil to directly apply to hair (you wouldn't be able to walk around with the concentrate one as it truly burns your skin). So, needs a little bit more accuracy in the product labelling: Made from 100% pure peppermint oil, but not 100% in the bottle.Alan

It smells lovely and I hope that it improves hair growth, but it makes hair very oily and look heavy and greasy, so I suggest keeping it in overnight and wearing a cap to not stain the pillow then showering it out, or using it as a leave-in treatment for a few hours before washing hair before bed. I have always been in oily hair oily skinned person and I always straight away from using oils. But over the last two years I’ve learned how much I actually need them. My hair started thinning a few months back in as somebody who has always had very long hair, past my back. It was hard for me and my insecurities start growing from this issue. I went looking for information and learned a-lot, I asked my doctor for advice also. We think it happened because of a medication I was taking for my heart rate. So I stopped taking it and am now taking something else that doesn’t cause hair loss. I got a brush that stimulates blood cells on my scalp to help with regrowth, I also am using a new shampoo and conditioner. I am not putting my hair in any ponytail or using elastic. I sleep with a silk pillow case to help with my hair not breaking off. And I am taking vitamins for my hair, skin nails. And I have been using oils on my scalp and hair, they are castor oil, tea tree oil, coconut oil, vitamin E. I have been using them once a day and the night before I Shower I put a-lot more in to sit overnight before washing out. I see a difference and i see baby hairs growing all over and My hair hasn’t been breaking off like before, and when I brush my hair I haven’t been losing as much hair as I was 6months ago.jahnay.w

I love Hask, but this shampoo is terrible. It did nothing for my curls! It left my hair lifeless, didn't help my curls at all, and the frizz…omg the frizz! I don't think I've ever seen my hair this frizzy before in my life! No idea what's going on with this formula, but it, unfortunately, made my hair worse and I will never try it again. I got the Husk curl care detangling conditioner and it left my hair easy to manage. The consistency of the conditioner was just right. Not too thick but not too runny. It applied well and evenly to my hair. The conditioner coated the strands and wasn't messy. I usually let conditioner sit on my hair with a plastic cap for 10-20 minutes. I was able to comb through my hair with minimal tangles and the small ones I had were easy to get through. My hair felt soft and moisturized. The conditioner is vegan and had no sulphates or parabens. It's complete with coconut oil, argan oil, and vitamin to give my hair what it needs to be manageable and look great.Ajann1983

LOVE IT!!!!! I was to the point I was going to cut my hair short due to always having tangles easy, frizzy, puffy hair I had it…. I was going to give this Detangler conditioner and shampoo a try first. It smells good I use both every other day I even tried the leave in spray on my hair. Now I will say all 3 kind of made my hair greasy after a day or two, but just the shampoo and conditioner worked great for me. My hair seems straightened after a shower, shiny and smooth. This is a staple in my hair care right now. I have severely bleach damaged hair. I went from black box dyed hair to platinum if that tells you anything. Anyways my hair is extremely dry and brittle, and I found this at Walmart so I decided to give it a try. Now I’ve tried many oils to moisturize my hair and they either leave it really weighed down or it leaves it feeling more dry than before. But THIS oil is the BEST one so far!!!!! I read a review just now that said it works very well but to not use befor you use flat iron & that’s the only reason I went and bought it and I’ve used it once put on before using my flat iron and to me my hair looks great my ends don’t have the fried looked, because I went a couple weeks ago and got very blonde highlights every where so I think it’s amazing so far. I truly love this coconut oil! Smells so yummy like creamy coconut with vanilla. And its effects on the skin are amazing! I love Bella Curls. Super adorable and is great for your hair. I don’t actually use this product. I use the Coconut Creme Co-Wash and I’ve never been happier with how my hair feels and looks. Once upon a time I really liked Bella curls but “idk” if the formula changed or what because it’s been a miss for me lately. Although I like the thickness of this hair mask, it doesn’t work the best as a deep conditioner. I had a very hard time recouping my hair after chemo treatments and my scalp dries easily. I got this in a goodybag at an eventI have been using and LOVING this leave-in treatment since I got it at the end of last month from the event. It is a lightweight milk that sprays in a fine mist. The scent is heavenly! Somewhere between coconuts and the beachI have used this on both my natural hair and my curly and wavy extensions. For natural hair, I use it as the Liquid in the L.O.C method and generally when I need extra hydration. It softens my hair and keeps it hydrated, it’s not oily and it doesn’t weigh it down. I also like it especially for use when I have protective styling, it’s a quick and easy way to add hydration.For my deep curly extensions, the leave in treatment helps to define the curls and reduce frizz. When I don’t have time to use a curl enhancer for defining the curls on the unit, I simply use this spray and finger comb/detangle the curls. For my wavy extensions, the spray helps me detangle, add hydration without weighing it down or leaving oily residue. I also simply love the scent, I may have abused it by spraying a LOT of this onto my units- one time I was on the tube getting off and a girl must have got a whiff of it because she said to her friend, that girl’s hair smells amazing loolI love this leave in conditioner! I am a huge fan of spray leave-in conditioners because they are so quick and easy to use! This has lots of great reviews but I noticed they're almost all coming from people with fine/thin and straight or short hair, and they rave about how it's non greasy and lightweight. Well sure, if that's you, this is probably great but it says it's for all hair types and it is NOT, and usually most SM lines work for more textured hair, but not this. I have thick sorta course 2b/c super frizzy natural ginger hair (which tends to be extra coarse and frizzy). I live for the coconut hibiscus curl line but wanted to try something new so I got a travel size bottle of this. It was like scented water (and speaking of that, it's coconut scented but also has a very strong earthy monoi/gardenia scent to it-not my thing, I don't really like it but it's ok) and made my hair tangly even if it wasn't before. When it was already tangly before, this just made it worse and made it impossible to comb through without breaking apart my curls and feeling like it was causing breakage. My hair looked dull and frizzy felt super dry upon airdrying (I don't blowdry so no comment there). I tried using more to see if that was the issue, but when I used almost half of the mini bottle in one go, my hair still didn't feel soft and had no slip and the only difference was that it now dried sticky, but still frizzy and dry though. Upon looking at the ingredients more closely, I think I know the culprit! GLYCERIN is the 3rd ingredient!!! A lot of us thicker/coarsier/curlier haired ppl can't tolerate glycerin in large amounts. It's a humectant but that means it can also pull moisture out of the hair, and into the air, and that's obviously what's going on here. It does not lock moisture in at all, by nature, and needs occlusive ingredients like oils to lock the moisture in, but when the glycerin is higher on the list than any oils or butters, well, you do the math. So I'm not going to say this is a horrible product, it obviously works for some, but it is NOT for all hair types. If your hair is thick, coarse, wavy or curly, long, or especially any combination of the above, take heed. In all fairness, I've never had these watery type leave ins work for me, but I was hoping since it's shea moisture it might be different, but nah. Thick and creamy leave ins seem to just be a necessity for my hair type. I would recommend the coconut hibiscus curl and style milk instead, even though it's a styler it's way more moisturizing than this. I like to use it after applying more of my regular conditioner as a leave in after I shower. Gives me beautiful curls every time. I hate to leave a bad review but I still love shea moisture and would DEFINITELY recommend their other products and the brand as a whole!Vcurt

So I really enjoyed using the product on both my baby girl and my own hair. Because we have very very different hair types, I noticed some important things. She has a healthy head of very fine, very varied coil curls. The shampoo worked great on very wet hair, it lathered well for a clarifying shampoo without turning her hair into dry grass. I rinsed twice to make sure the water ran well and clear. The conditioner was light and moisturizing, as promoted. I took the time to work it into all strands while damp to slightly wet with a curly hair wet brush. Afterward rinsing the conditioner lightly, I put in the styling cream. Here I realized I'd put in way too much, but the effect was still very good. Her curls were less prone to tangling, moisturized and made beautiful defined coils. My hair is fine but wavy, not curly. However my hair is super dry. I like using heavily moisturizing products from time to time to feed my hair. The products were too heavy for fine straighter hair, but it really moisturized heavily. My hair has a healthy strong feel and a beautiful glisten that it has after a moisturizing hair mask. Overall, on straighter finer hair, I'd say use the conditioner thoroughly but rinse very well and easy on the styling cream. I didn't experience any waxiness anywhere.Thali22

An amazing product for my dry, frizzy hair! This smells like warm, smooth coconut 🥥! Compared to alternatives, this has a VERY strong scent, so be cautious if you're sensitive to fragrances! I would improve this product by offering this is a lighter lotion for those with thinner hair not to overdo it, however you can use less product and avoid applying to your scalp to avoid weighing your hair down. This met all of my expectations, my hair is less frizzy and my curls have more definition. I would recommend to everyone with curly hair!rosaline.e

I bought this product not knowing my hair type which is my bad. So if you have low porosity hair like me, this product might not be the best for you. I used this weekly and found that my hair felt extra greasy and had a lot of build up. The butters caused weighed down my curls and they still had a lot of frizz. It does smell good and I bet would be great for high porosity hair. But if you have low porosity hair, it's probably better to just avoid this product.Kenna

This conditioner tames my son's kinky, curly hair. He's got thick, dry hair which tangles easily. We tried this and I get a comb out in about 3 minutes, and his hair is to the middle of his back! It's thick and rich with a nice scent. Leaving some in after the shower works as an additional detangler also.The shampoo is very nice also. Good sudsing ability, cleans the hair well with a nice scent. It does not leave the ends crunchy and dried out! I recommend these products, they are very good quality.stingflow35

I use this coconut oil for just about everything. I use a small amount to hydrate my dry face. I also use a small amount on dry hair and to tame the fly aways. This coconut oil is fermented, so it has a bit of a toasted smell. The best way to describe it is burnt toast, but in a good way 🙂ami.b

I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to try the , as it is intended for those with curly, thick hair. My hair is straight and fine. However, I often struggle with finding good conditioners because my hair is very long and tangles really easily. When trying this product, I really loved it! It left my hair feeling soft, detangled, and smelling amazing. The conditioner is thick in consistency, but is easy to apply to my long hair. A little went a long way. I love all the nourishing and moisturizing ingredients in this conditioner, which bring a little taste of the tropics to the dry climate where I live. I would definitely recommend this product, even if you don’t have curly hair 😂. It did a great job of saving me time combing though my hair after the shower, as my hair was smooth and detangled. I have tried out several of Maui Moisture’s conditioners, and this coconut oil one is BY FAR my favorite! This conditioner has an AMAZING tropical/fruity/clean fragrance to it. It has a medium thick consistency to it, which I prefer over being too runny, or too thick making it difficult to squeeze out of the bottle. I leave this conditioner on while I am performing the rest of my shower routine. This way I can give the conditioner enough time to soak into my freshly shampooed hair. I have pretty dry hair so this coconut oil conditioner does it wonders. Once it has been on my hair for a sufficient amount of time high brush it out under the running water. I have very tingle prone hair but this conditioner makes detangling a breeze. After rinsing out the product I am left with silky smooth hair that smells amazing. My mom has thick, coarse hair so I had her try out this conditioner as well. She too was left with beautiful, silky hair after using this conditioner! I have wavy hair and this conditioner really brought out and defined my wave pattern. I think this would be a lovely conditioner for others with wavy to curly hair. Hair background: I have medium to high density hair. My hair is medium porosity type 4a natural hair. Product: This conditioner has a thick consistency. it is white and has a very pleasent scent. in terms of the packaging I wish it was bigger because you tend to use more conditioner than shampoo as a curly girl. so I would change the packaging to be bigger and also an upside down packaging to help with product flow. Product on natural hair: Not sure if it is safe for color treated hair. However it worked well on my un-color treated hair. This conditioner is not as conditioning as other conditioners which is the main reason why I rated it as I did. it absorbs very well into my dehydrated hair but it didnt condition it well. It also did not have alot of slip and I found detangling my hair with flowing water easier than detangling my hair with this conditioner. it is an overall ok conditioner for natural hair but it needs a follow up leave in conditioner. I have attached a photo of my hair after I washed it to see. On my wigs this worked great. it wasn't to heavy and it conditioned them well.nikita .b

I really wanted to LOVE THIS but something was off for me. I used this for a full month before reviewing. The smell is the best thing about this smoothie. When first applied it feels like a leave in conditioner and it smells great. I usually air dry my curls and after putting mouse or oil they will curl naturally on their own into “romantic style� curls. HOWEVER with this smoothie the hair becomes limp heavy wavy and the product is essentially very waxy rather than moisturizing after drying. I have no curls after using it just a frizzy mess after using this and even by twisting the smoothie into each strand as per the instructions to create curls it does not facilitate curls… the hair needs to be fully washed by the next day. Additionally this broke me out so so badly. I couldn’t even keep my face on the pillow after using this product. My hair needed to be washed out the next day. Horrible breakouts on my face and back after using this and then they stopped once I stopped using it / stopped sleeping on my hair after putting this smoothie in. You get a lot of product which is nice but it’s almost causing me more hassle by weighting down my hair and causing the need to wash more frequently and I have to avoid my hair touching my body while using it due to the thick clogging waxiness of it. So the moment I took this product out of the box I absolutely LOVED the smell ! It would be to a point that I would walk by and just open it so I can smell it ! It smelled amazing ! Now regarding my hair I’m not sure if I put to much or my hair just wasn’t liking it ! It left a very weird feeling in my hair and I found that it made my hair look greasy/wet ! It did keep my curls ( in the pic) a nice curl as if I just brushed my hair after a shower! I've been using the shampoo, conditioner, and curl smoothie for the last little while and, my word, my curls have never felt so soft! I'm very much a wash and go kind of girl. I cannot be bothered putting much effort into my hair so I was happy to try a product that was so easy peasy. I washed, conditioned, worked the curl smoothie (it's like a cream) through my damp curls, let it dry, and voila! Super soft, lovely smelling, healthy looking curls. The only *teeny* downside is my curls aren't as bouncy as they could be with other products but I think what this product is doing is making my curls the best they are naturally. This was the most drying, matting shampoo I've come across in a long time. I wanted to try something different ( cause shampoo is shampoo right?! WRONG) I have a mix of type 3c, 4b and beyond. I have a clarifying shampoo but wanted a moisturizing one to use. This was a mistake. My hair instantly started clumping and matting. I wash my hair weekly and detangle well before I even wet it.. I lost clumps of curls. I fortunately had a small amount of another brand that brought it back a bit , but I'm praying my hair forgives me for this one.CaliCocoa

Based on other reviews, I really wanted to love this product for my thick curly hair..this shampoo/conditioner combo made my scalp very itchy and dry – something I’ve never had issues with before. On top of that by day 2 it was making my hair fall out in CLUMPS. I’m not talking typical “more than a few strands because it was worn up today” either – I mean handfuls each wash. I made myself use it until it was gone to see if it was an adjustment my body needed to make and nothing improved. This product, as well as other scents/formulas by Maui, is absolutely wonderful. Everyone in my family is now using one of Maui's formulas because it works really well and smells good. The tendency is to use a normal sized dollop of this shampoo. However, you quickly find you don't need but half that amount to get your hair perfectly clean.iHerb Customer
