I'm going to start this review off by saying that I am definitely not a contour or makeup expert by any means! However, I did find this contour palette was very easy to use! It comes with 3 shades, contour, sculpt, and illuminate. There is a diagram and explanation printed inside the cover. The consistency is a little waxier than creamy, but still works well. I got my make up done professionally for a wedding and they did contouring on my face. I had never thought I would like it or want to take the time to do it and I loved it. Mostly for a wedding! I went to ULTA in search of a similar contour palette. The make up artist used a wet creamy kind but I was turned to this contour stick. The girl at the make up counter suggested it because it was cream to powder and fool proof (much like my Benefit eyebrow pencil) LOL I didn't buy it at first glance I did some more research and then bought it online. And boy am I glad I did. I have used it twice after watching youtube videos and reading the instructions my second time looked just like my make up from that wedding. I am so happy with it. It cost about $39.50, it comes with the make up sponge, and if you buy it now you get a free deluxe size mascara by them as well. Try it out girls its so much easier than carrying around a huge palette!
Much to my disappointment, that was not a contour shade. That was a bronzing shade. Some people can use the same for both, but I have a cool enough skintone that any warmth in my contour makes me look ill. It has a lightly greasy sort of texture, which makes it very easy to blend, but it really does feel a bit like pancake. In fact, I ended up donating it to my local opera company, which they then used on nearly everyone with great success. So it's really blendable and has great pigmentation. It's just not a good contour color. However, the sponge is amazing. I like it better than my BeautyBlender. This is the first beauty product by Pur Cosmetics that I've tried, and it didn't disappoint. I like the stick formation of this makeup product and that it has both light + dark contour colors. The formula is rather creamy, has medium coverage, is buildable and blends nicely. This can be worn alone or applied over BB cream and/or foundation. I was really excited to try this product, but it hasn't met most of my expectations. The color is okay – definitely more of a bronze than a contour but everything leans more warm on my skin. I find that it blends out decently well with a more loose synthetic brush rather than a densely packed brush, but I isn't foolproof. It can look patchy real quick on my forehead – cheeks seem to fare better. I don't like how the product leaks out onto the sides of the cap. Overall the product design feels cheap. Probably the worst feature is that I don't feel it really lasts well throughout the day, so it isn't worth the finicky nature of the product. The Good: This was a promising formula that I really enjoy. It's very lightweight on the skin and at the start of application and beginning of blending stages looks quite gorgeous. I was very excited about a "liquid gel" contour and thought this would be great for the winter time when my skin leans dry. I love the applicator, it gives great precision and control on where one want to plan their contour. It's also easy to take a dab off the applicator with a finer brush for a nose contour. There's a large variety of shade range at least for a contour/bronzing powder which is nice because it allows a good color match for a wide variety of customers, which is very appreciated. The Bad: When I first began using this product it was promising but as I continued to blend it out in order to receive the seamless/natural finish I love it got very off. The formula started to almost tack which created darker patches in some areas of the contour while having lighter areas right next to it. It was quite noticable even from a few feet away and no matter what I did it would be properly blend out like other cream or liquid contour products I've tried. It looked like a very exaggerated wide line was drawn across my face… not a cute look. I tried it out later but this time blending with a brush and I had even worse results, the patchiness actually "lifted" some of the contour off my face in certain areas causing incredibly obvious patching. The Ugly/Honest: Contour is usually one of the last steps in my makeup (especially in my face routine) so trying out this product actually ruined my entire "face look" and I had to re-do my face makeup on my cheeks because I could not leave the house with this on. This is probably the best contour product I’ve ever used. It’s really hard to find proper cool toned contour shades on the market right now that look like *shadows* without looking too ashy/orange/red/“bronzy”. When shades are offered that do mimic shadows, the cool toned shades stop at shades for fair skin and people with light-medium and anything deeper skin tones are only given bronzing options. I really adore the tone of this product and how it offers me actual contour shades even when I’m not at my palest and I anticipate using this throughout summer. Formula wise, this is very watery and gel like, as per the name. I find the best application is spreading some out on my hand (or a makeup palette) then tapping a brush on, then applying to my face. It looks so natural by default and it blends well, when applied with an intentional and light hand. This is gorgeous and imo easy to use! I love the way this product goes on and love the effect. However, it made my face break out in exactly the spots were it was applied – and I never had issues with breakouts on my cheeks or chin line before. It seems to be mostly the darker color with the lighter one coming in a close second. No issues with the highlighter one. This contour kit is the perfect travel size product to take with you on the go. The brush itself isn't so bad and I like the size to use to contour my face. The product is VERY powdery, use a light hand when using this powder. I love the contour color of this product because it is perfect for my NC20-25 skin. I love it so much that I actually hit pan very quickly on the contour color. I also use this contour kit as eyeshadow as well. I do like the fact they have instructions on how to apply the product as they recommend but I feel like the highlight powder is a bit too much or powdery for my under eyes or for the face that I like using it more for a eyeshadow base color instead. I purchased this primarily for the contour/light tan color since I was having trouble finding a matte cool toned powder. I love the two tan shades and use the lighter tan color for contour (cheek hollows, jaw and as an eye shadow) and use the warmer tan for bronzer. The bronze shade is actually almost the exact same shade as Too Faced matte in medium. I rarely use the lightest color which is meant to brighten (the color is a matte beige). There is a mirror on one side of the compact too. The only negative is that the colors are not highly pigmented but I don’t mind that since I’m fair. I think it’s great that a little brush comes with it and works well for highlighting but is too small for bronzer for me. My daughter has a skin issue due to allergy shots and her face has alot of black marks. Her forehead is darker than the rest of her face, We used many products, nothing really works except sensitive soap and I was trying different make up products to cover the marks and it didnt look that great UNTIL we came across this at Dollar , and it was on clearance for $3. Let me tell you how good her face looks like she isn't wearing any make up AT ALL. And shes 12, so make up isn't really something I'd let her do but because of the marks I didn't want her to feel bad. This stuff is TRUE COMPLEXION. Okay so this palette, it’s not really a 3. But it’s not quite a 4 for me so I’d give it a 3.75! ⭐️ I bought it a while back, maybe 2 years ago…used it for a little then stopped. I recently started using it again, for the last 2-3 months now and have revamped it. It’s not that I don’t like it. I think it’s great BUT I don’t think it’s that effective on my complexion. I am not dark skinned but I am more brown skin and the “contour” and “sculpt” powders in it, don’t do much for me. I love a good contour so that’s a bit disappointing. HOWEVER, I still use it everyday—but not as a contour or sculptor. During the summer time, my skin tone obviously gets dark so I use the powders to even out or “color correct” my foundation and powders because sometimes they look a little too ashy or have a red undertone. During the summer time, I prefer a warmer brown tone. So this definitely does the job for me! Also, I love a little body highlight in the summer so recently, I used the “gold highlight” powder and use a big fluffy brush and glazed it all over my neck and upper chest (tastefully of course) and everyone loved it! So that plus points for that 🙂 Again, the palette didn’t do for me what it was meant to do but I found a way to make it work. This is a really great bronzer stick. It's very easy to blend in and looks great without looking too cakey or as though you have too many layers of makeup on. It's very natural looking and is a beautiful colour. However, the colour is a bit too dark if you have lighter or skin with a bit of a pink undertone so would have to use very sparingly. A little goes a long way with this bronzer so be careful not to over apply or it starts to look like you have too much makeup on.Anne0201
I am in my late 60's and definitely want my skin to have a soft glow. Matte skin (to me!) is aging and unhealthy looking. This highlighting stick is perfect for adding a natural looking glow wherever it's wanted or needed. I apply it to both cheekbones as well as across my forehead and on my chin as my final makeup step. Then gently rub in so that it looks natural and not streaky. The color is a very pale luminous pink. VERY pale. It is NOT like a blush. So soft. So subtle. So natural! trying to "hide" wrinkles with makeup usually backfires on me. This is my go to everyday highlighter. It’s super easy to blend with your fingers. It has a nice shade that blends into my skin well. I use other highlighters when I have a full face on, but this one is great for bare skin. It’s such a big stick that it lasts forever. Easy to travel with too since it’s in a stick form. Such a beautiful little powder! The resulting contouring effect is so natural looking and well-lasting. It's small but a little goes a long way, so I expect this to last for a good while. First things first…yes it’s small, yes it’s expensive! But is it worth it? I think so! I’m a pale woman (NARS Monte Blanc for reference) and have struggled to find a suitable shade for contouring. I’ve heard good things about this powder, and after finally getting to swatch the light shade, I was sold! For my skin tone, a light hand is pretty much always required, but this light shade is harder to screw up than anything else I’ve tried previously!! 😉 I like pretty neutral make up, and this looks really nice and subtle on my skin. The colour is lovely and looks just like a shadow. I use it just under my cheekbones and a little under the centre of my bottom lip for a little extra pout. It has good staying power for those areas of my face. I don’t use it on my nose, mainly because I have an oily t-zone and I struggle to keep my makeup from sliding off within a few hours there, so I can’t really comment on how it performs as a nose contour, although I have a feeling it would last if you’re normal/dry or have found the holy grail in making your make up last when dealing with an oily nose! The packaging is the usual luxe style that all KA products come in, it comes with a little velvet pouch which protects it. I can see that it could open pretty easily in your bag given the way the button to open it is pretty exposed, so I’d recommend putting it in the pouch upside down to minimise the risk of this happening.Katey1980

The 20 medium to deep palette has a nice contour; it works well on me (I'm Indian for reference), lasts 7+ hours with minimal fading, and is easy to apply. The blush I'm not a fan of because I don't like shimmery blushes, but aside from that it applies well (though a bit powdery) and lasts about 5 hours (I think, I'm not really into blush, I bought the palette for the contour). The highlight however is too light for me and leaves white stripes on my face. It's also has barely any shimmer/sheen/glow when applied, especially when compared to the Maybelline master chrome highlight which is AMAZING. This highlight in comparison is powdery and utterly unimpressive. I have no idea how I'm going to pan it (because I don't want to waste it) unless I use it as eyeshadow because there's no way I'm leaving my room while wearing this as highlight (I'll probably do the same for the blush because I don't like shimmery blush). I would give this 3.5 stars if I could but since I can't it gets 3 (minus 1 for the highlight and minus 1 for the blush). If you like shimmery blushes then 2/3 isn't bad and I'd say buy it despite the highlight, but don't buy it just for the contour.JennaBlack
I see a lot of reviews criticizing the pigmentation of this product and some saying the contour shade isn't cool toned enough, while for some it is. Personally, I have very fair skin, and I look at this palette like a 'Bronzer, Blush, and Highlight Trio' (Bronzer vs Contour.) I would consider myself 'Intermediate as far as makeup ability and use. I'm no newbie to the beauty community. I purchased this palette specifically to use for 'Everyday, Natural, Quick, Efficient Makeup' and for that purpose, I love it! I wanted something that took care of all 3 face products so it would save space in my 'everyday makeup drawers' and it would cut down on time that I usually waste in the mornings trying to choose a blush, bronzer, and highlight 'shopping my stash.' I don't really contour for work. I just warm up the complexion and apply a little blush and buff in bit of natural looking highlight. I would not recommend actually getting this to contour, unless you have a medium, warm skin tone that works with a warmer contour shade and I would not recommend this really for event or 'going out makeup, as it's not the most pigmented face palette on the planet, but that's what I love about it for daily, work appropriate wear. It gives a very toned down, natural look and it's also very beginner friendly because it would be more difficult to "over do it." A lot of people are saying the highlighter is trash, but it's most certainly not for an 'everyday friendly, natural, work appropriate' Look. It's not the Instagram/YouTube "Blinding/Beaming/Directing Air Traffic bar of Aluminum' on the face, but who wants that for real life? Well, I know some people do, and that's fine. i love the concept of all three facial powders being in one set, it’s so frustrating to try and get contour and blush and highlight separately, and making sure they all match. i could probably start using a new blush and contour palette, but i haven’t really found the need to. i just love this one so much. it’s buildable, and i use it as eyeshadow sometimes when i want a really natural look. the highlight is shiny enough, but i still prefer mine shinier. on my pale skin the contour serves as blush so i rarely use the blush, but when i do i use a very small amount. this is a great palette!oriya.v

This review is for the Light/Medium contour stick. It's really hard to find products that work with my fair skin tone but I'm pretty impressed with the color of this stick. It's the perfect brown with just a touch of gray in it, and works great with my neutral/cool undertone. It also doesn't overwhelm my skin tone and is perfectly subtle for a no makeup look. But still gives me the right amount of definition. The highlight side is almost white and has no shimmer that I can see. Works good for me to define the edge of eyeshadow and under brows. It's really creamy and easy to blend in, but this could be a bad thing if you want more of an intense countour. This has no fragrance to it and I haven't had any breakouts from this.kim.m
I love this product! I was totally intimidated by contouring until I found the Wonder Stick. I had no idea what color to choose between universal and light/medium. I went with light medium as I couldn't really determine the color in the tube or from swatch. Much to my pleasant surprise it's perfect. The darker color is not too orangey or too gray, it's just right for my light to medium complexion. No shimmer at all. The light end is more of a cream almost yellow, it adds perfect brightness without shimmer or too white. I rarely use an entire container of too many things because I'm a junkie bit I keep going back to this for it's ease of use and all around great performance. All that being said I decided to give the Universal shade a try. It's a big no for me. Dark tone is too orange, light shade is shimmery and barely shows up on my complexion. I wish NYX would come out with this product in just contour stick form. There is literally no need for the highlighter, especially when it is as bad as it is. Both products are mineral oil-based, so they glide on like grease paint, but don't feel too heavy. My issue with the highlighter side is it has very little coverage and is a shimmer balm. My forehead looked like a snow globe after applying. The contour side goes on opaque looking, but blends super easily. This one is better than my Anastasia contour stick, which is very stiff and harder to blend out. Just be cautious not to over blend it, because it can pretty much blend into nothing. Also over blending can remove the foundation underneath. I like that there is a drugstore option for contour sticks, but NYX should just do away with the highlight your side and re-launch as just a contour stick.Dee

This looks very natural and I use it every day to enhance my cheeks by boosting highlights, glow and shadows. I talked to a representative about the proper brush for the darkest contour shade and they referred me to the feathering brush. As an Artist I am so delighted with this kit and brush. I use a different type brush for each. Make sure you save the plastic protector of the fan brush to save the fan shape. I have the cool kit so I will use barely rose blush to follow up with my blush since I used this section up first.
I am a big fan of all products Jane Iredale, so I always like to try out new stuff. I bought this great shape contour kit a few months ago, in the cool tone and loved it at first. However, I do not know why, but the brown color does not work anymore… When I brush against the brown tone, no product comes of. It has become like, hard or cakey… The other colours work well and product does transfer on the brush as it should. So, I don't get what happened with the brown tone. I feel like I’ve been saying this in a lot of my recent reviews but this is another one of my favorite MUST-have makeup products. I use it just about every time I put on makeup and I couldn’t imagine contouring without it. Truthfully, I was never the biggest powder fan up until recently. I use liquid foundation and concealers but everything else I use in powder form. I used to use liquid to contour as well, until I tried ABH’s Powder Contour Kit. I love the range of colors and the powder is finely milled so while it feels and looks super light going on, it provides great coverage and blends effortlessly. It works (and looks) great on top of my other products as well. I also really appreciate the shimmer pan for a really glowy highlighter. Cult classic and for a reason. Product layers well over any face products I’ve tried and doesn’t accentuate texture. The cool-toned shade still has enough warmth to look natural. (Be careful however as this shade can turn muddy.) The finishing powder with almost imperceptible shimmer is super pretty on the high points of the face. I bought these from Nordstrom thinking they were eye shadows. I absolutely love them. They go on in the morning and stay till I decide to remove my makeup. I am 64 years old and my routine consists of moisturizer, setting spray, primer, setting spray. I let each layer dry/absorb before moving on. I use a primer on my eye before applying shadow, then I apply my foundation, followed by Anastasia bronzer and a little color. I finish with setting spray and I'm good to go from 7 AM until…I'm not sure. 11 PM was the latest. No need to touch up unless you want to smoke it out for evening wear. I wish Anastasia would come out with a matte eye kit to take older women from daytime to evening. Maybe with one glimmer color to really pop the eyes pop. Anyhow, I absolutely love this kit and will continue to wear it as my daytime shadows.teetertotter57

Not the best cream contour kit out there and fell short in my opinion. I didn't have a problem with the colors matching my skin tone when I bought it but it is not creamy enough making it a bit difficult to pick up the product with your brush and takes forever to blend out to the desired look you are trying to achieve. Ultimately because it is not creamy enough I felt like it settled into my fine lines in my under eye area too much making them look worse and more prominent. For those reasons I do not feel it is worth the overall pricetag and would not recommend this product especially for those of you who have drier skin or under eyes.yaneli.c
I like using this contour kit for a more natural contour. The cream blends smoothly on top of foundation without breaking up the layer underneath. It is also quite long-lasting if you powder lightly over it once you’ve blended it out. I find my favorite way of applying is with a dense angled brush to buff along my cheekbones, under the jaw, and the sides of my temples. There are 3 contour shades but I use the lightest one because the other two are too warm, orange toned. Even though my skin is warm yellow toned, the natural shadow of my skin is more ashy so I actually prefer a more grayish contour color. One tiny issue I have is the cream is not emollient enough more me personally. I have dry patches on parts of my face and this cream contour palette exaggerates those dry patches. Particularly, I have dry patches on my cheeks and applying the highlight shade there makes my skin looks cracked as the product does not apply evenly to that area. I’m going to have to wait until the weather gets more warm and those dry patches go away so I can actually use the highlight shades.michelle.c
I like this product. It is good for underpainting under your foundation or over it. It is pigmented but can be shared out. It is blendable. It is buildable. Most of them have a flat finish. I own the "fair/light" kit and the lightest shade (the white for highlighting) is somewhat shimmery. Not sure that I would repurchase this product again. But then on the other hand, not sure that I wouldn't either. I especially liked that you can remove and replace the shades with refills if needed. 9 out of 10 would recommend. 🗣 I’m just going to start off by saying I think this is a decent product 🗣 this is my personal experience and it may be different for everyone. I have dry, sensitive skin. Overall, I think this product is affordable enough for everyone to give it a try if they are looking for a drugstore contour stick- they may love it! For my cons, I took away the last two stars, but I hope this list helps! 😊 I used this for months and here’s a list of pros and cons: Pros: – very convenient with the dual sided contour. -easy to use and good packaging with a swirl up and down stick and protective cap. – good, affordable price. – very creamy, hydrating constistency. – good for natural contour days. Cons: – the product is too sheer, and even with buildable coverage, I did not see enough pigment for my fair complexion. – product is nice and creamy, but upon application, leaves a waxy texture on the skin. – hard to blend out. – the light and dark sides often get mixed, so they can be a bit muddy if you aren’t careful. – I found this caused tiny pimples where I had applied, but I do have very sensitive skin.corinne.c
It's not too greasy, but it definitely isn't matte. The finish is a bit shiny and hair sticks to it, which means you'll need to powder it.Application is easy as long as you use both sides. You just lay it against your cheeks and swipe it on. The problem begins when you use one side more than the other. Then the side that you don't use a lot starts to interfere in the other side.tatiane.s
