This is an awesome sculpting shade. But there are some major issues with it, which is why it’s only getting 3 stars from me. First of all, let me explain that there’s a big face palette called the Contour Book Volume III, which I have included a picture of for comparison. It is where I first discovered this powder, because I was learning to contour, it came with deep, medium and light powders, the neo blush to bronzer, and 2 highlighting shades. All of that is $64. So far the only thing I really needed in that palette was this light powder shade. I don’t contour and chisel my face deeply, so I only need one light contour shade. So I was happy to see that they sold this shade alone! So of course I ordered it, even though it was $44. I figured I’d get a decent amount of it. WRONG. It’s the same exact size as the pan in the $64 palette. And then there’s fallout. A lot of it. It’s very powdery. What sucks is it blends well and it’s a cool toned shade which is a lot harder to find in a bronze or contour shade, they tend to be on the warm side which doesn’t work for everyone. But with it being so expensive for so little (refer to photos for size reference) having the product wasted in the air from fallout is definitely not a good thing. In fact, seeing that fallout reminded me of why I was searching for this shade in the first place, because I ran out of it in my palette. Which made me think “you know, I did run out of that rather quickly for a luxury brand, normally a little goes a long way with the high end stuff.” So I came to the conclusion that it’s a wasteful product that you will run out of more quickly than you should because of the amount of product you’re going to lose to fallout. I’m still searching for something that looks as good as this does though, I haven’t found it yet. In conclusion though I don’t recommend this product because it’s not a good value and I think you’ll feel like you wasted your money with how quickly it runs out and how small it is. I think I’m looking at Fenty’s cream contour compact, I’ll definitely let my Influenster peeps know what I think!kelley.m
This is my first contour powder and it actually provides cheekbones. I have one of those faces that stays kind of round, no matter how my body looks. Very annoying. Enter Kevyn Aucoin and his magic cheekbone creating formula. Worth the $$, trust me. Just use a beauty blender (or cheaper alternative) and a fluffy brush so you don't look like a clown. Even the light version kind of stands out on fair skin if you're not careful. If you want a tutorial on how to do contour, don't be afraid to look up those beauty bloggers on YouTube either – I'm 35 and I'm not ashamed to say I learned most things I know about makeup from people 20 years younger than myself 🙂Liz
I had never tried this bronzer before , so when I ordered it I wasn’t sure what to expect. First of all , I was shocked with the size , I honestly thought it was an eyeshadow because the compact was so small and I thought if this is the bronzer I ordered, it’s not going to last long at all due to its small size. But I can tell you , I have this same compact to this day and purchased it over a year and a half ago ! I am not kidding ! I am shocked that I am still using the original I purchased. And I love the color and I will never buy another brand of bronzer! I have hit pan but it didn’t break up at all. In fact I went on a train trip last summer and was questioning weather I should pack it , in fear of it breaking all up and being out of state. But I decided to take it anyway , being that I love this bronzer. It did not break up in the pan at all Amd I used it the whole vacation and still using it ! I haven't contoured and years, but decided since I gained weight I would benefit from some contouring. I purchased the darker palette and the lightest contour is perfect for my olive complexion. It applies smooth and it is easy to blend. I used the highlighters on the shadow of my bags, the arch of my brow and to highlight my nose and it worked well, because their is very little shimmer I could use it in more places on my face including in the wrinkles on my forehead. It does a great job of minimizing my problem areas as well as highlighting. The chocolate color contour make great eyeshadows. The contour don't have shimmer. So happy I rolled the dice on this contour kit. I am nearly 50 and finding a good natural look has been a challenge. I was almost out of my old bronzer and then found out the color had been discontinued. I went to Ulta with my old bronzer compact open and did pan-to pan comparisons of other bronzers to find a similar shade. Maybelline City Bronzer in its deepest shade (300) looked as close as I could find. After purchasing and applying it the next day, I saw that the color was nowhere near my old bronzer shade. I use the fair shade 100. For reference in the winter I wear L'Oréal freshwear in the shade pearl (400). And in the summer I wear L'Oréal in the shade Linen (425). Okay, now onto the product! So, this bronzer is very easy to blend and looks very natural. I find the formula forgiving as well. It's not SO pigmented that you need a really light hand, or so colorless that you have to really build it up to get some color. It's a good middle ground. I will note that this bronzer works better for me in the winter vs in the summer. In the summer I have to build it up a lot to get a very very natural bronze, so I usually opt for my butter bronzer during the summer months instead. (I'm sure this wouldn't be an issue if I just bought one of the deeper shades for the summer! I just wanted to note the limitations on skin tone for the fair shade). I still use my fair city bronzer during the summer, just in a different way! Listen, I have tried every bronzer there is, and this one is the best of the best. I work in a hospital and sometimes a girl wants to wear makeup even though I have to wear a mask and face shield. Another impulse buy from L'Oreal, a brand I haven't used in decades. This product isn't perfect, but I love it: Perfect shades for my skin, the LIGHT shade compact. PERFECT contouring shade for my chubby nose! The lighter shade is easy to work with, no shimmer or sparkle, just a good flattering glow. I've begun to use this to set my undereye concealer . . . . lovely! The the darker side is hard and seemingly dead to the touch of a brush – I wish this shade was softer – but it does pick up. I've never found a face powder shade so perfect for contouring – I've had to use eye shadows. The pan is rocky in the cheap Wet n Wild-like plastic case; I wouldn't mind if it was all sturdier. I don't know why but I anticipate this being discontinued….if so, I'll be purchasing a back-up or two on Ebay. This product is okay, it's not highly pigmented. The brush is poor quality and tends to fling product everywhere. The colors are good shades. I use the Infallible 24hr pro matte foundation in Natural Beige, and the Infallible pro matte 16hr powder in Nude Beige. I chose the Medium Contour…the colors work well together. The product is so finely textured it's almost like working w a loose powder and it crumbles easily. I feel like a lot of the product is wasted. This product will also cling to dry spots on your skin which can ruin the texture. I use a hydrating mask every night and this product is still a little dry feeling on me. Okay so this palette, it’s not really a 3. But it’s not quite a 4 for me so I’d give it a 3.75! ⭐️ I bought it a while back, maybe 2 years ago…used it for a little then stopped. I recently started using it again, for the last 2-3 months now and have revamped it. It’s not that I don’t like it. I think it’s great BUT I don’t think it’s that effective on my complexion. I am not dark skinned but I am more brown skin and the “contour” and “sculpt” powders in it, don’t do much for me. I love a good contour so that’s a bit disappointing. HOWEVER, I still use it everyday—but not as a contour or sculptor. During the summer time, my skin tone obviously gets dark so I use the powders to even out or “color correct” my foundation and powders because sometimes they look a little too ashy or have a red undertone. I feel like I’ve been saying this in a lot of my recent reviews but this is another one of my favorite MUST-have makeup products. I use it just about every time I put on makeup and I couldn’t imagine contouring without it. Truthfully, I was never the biggest powder fan up until recently. I use liquid foundation and concealers but everything else I use in powder form. I used to use liquid to contour as well, until I tried ABH’s Powder Contour Kit. I love the range of colors and the powder is finely milled so while it feels and looks super light going on, it provides great coverage and blends effortlessly. Cult classic and for a reason. Product layers well over any face products I’ve tried and doesn’t accentuate texture. The cool-toned shade still has enough warmth to look natural. (Be careful however as this shade can turn muddy.) The finishing powder with almost imperceptible shimmer is super pretty on the high points of the face. I bought these from Nordstrom thinking they were eye shadows. I absolutely love them. They go on in the morning and stay till I decide to remove my makeup. I am 64 years old and my routine consists of moisturizer, setting spray, primer, setting spray. I let each layer dry/absorb before moving on. I use a primer on my eye before applying shadow, then I apply my foundation, followed by Anastasia bronzer and a little color. I finish with setting spray and I'm good to go from 7 AM until…I'm not sure. 11 PM was the latest. No need to touch up unless you want to smoke it out for evening wear. I wish Anastasia would come out with a matte eye kit to take older women from daytime to evening. Maybe with one glimmer color to really pop the eyes pop. I normally use the Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder for contour but it is pretty pricey for a small pallet. I love it because it’s neutral with no orange and not too dark. This one is even better! The medium brown is a bit lighter than Kevyn’s which is fine for me and like 3 times the amount for half the price. I can see no difference in quality.ajalex
I’m more hesitant with powder contours than cream contours, but I’ve been into trying a lot of Natasha’s releases lately. I figured I’d pick this up, and boy am I happy I did! I love the effect it gives, it lasted perfectly through a long plane ride in a heat wave, and after I completed my makeup, I looked in the mirror & just had one of those days where I felt prettier than normal. I love it! It blends out like butter, and doesn’t awkwardly stick or move, and is cooperative with my setting spray. One thing that I noticed was that some of these shades look pretty light. I definitely know what shade of contour works for me, I bought shade 3 with my porcelain skin, and it’s perfect. I’m not sure how the lighter shades compare, or how well the darker shades work on deeper skin tones, so I suggest sifting through the reviews to try and find a skin color match’s opinion. Such a beautiful little powder! The resulting contouring effect is so natural looking and well-lasting. It's small but a little goes a long way, so I expect this to last for a good while. First things first…yes it’s small, yes it’s expensive! But is it worth it? I think so! I’m a pale woman (NARS Monte Blanc for reference) and have struggled to find a suitable shade for contouring. I’ve heard good things about this powder, and after finally getting to swatch the light shade, I was sold! For my skin tone, a light hand is pretty much always required, but this light shade is harder to screw up than anything else I’ve tried previously!! 😉 I like pretty neutral make up, and this looks really nice and subtle on my skin. The colour is lovely and looks just like a shadow. I use it just under my cheekbones and a little under the centre of my bottom lip for a little extra pout. It has good staying power for those areas of my face. I don’t use it on my nose, mainly because I have an oily t-zone and I struggle to keep my makeup from sliding off within a few hours there, so I can’t really comment on how it performs as a nose contour, although I have a feeling it would last if you’re normal/dry or have found the holy grail in making your make up last when dealing with an oily nose! The packaging is the usual luxe style that all KA products come in, it comes with a little velvet pouch which protects it. I can see that it could open pretty easily in your bag given the way the button to open it is pretty exposed, so I’d recommend putting it in the pouch upside down to minimise the risk of this happening.Katey1980

I’m generally not a fan of contour kits for the simple fact that a person is one skin tone, therefore it is very unlikely to utilize all the shades offered in a contour kit / palette. When this product first came out, I was excited and very interested since it has three shades that are suitable for those between light and medium skin tone complexions, which I fall under that category. The first pale yellow shade is great for setting your face and under eyes, which will give you a more natural look rather than a brightening effect. The middle shade is a perfect contour shade where it’s not too grey tone or overly cool, and yet not too warm. And lastly, the bottom shade is a great bronzer shade to add warmth back to the face. The bronzer is a lot like the bronzers you’ll find from their original Bronzer Booster collection. Overall, I think this a great contour palette for someone who is first getting into makeup and doesn’t want to be overwhelmed with lots of different tones and undertones. This is a GREAT palette to get your feet wet in the contour world. I've always been a bronzer girl but contour sounded scary! This product is great! Comes with a small brush that is PERFECT for the contour! The bronzer seems deeper than the regular butter bronzer and is extremely pigmented so go light handed. This is a really beautiful versatile contouring palette! It’s warm tones and I primarily use it as eyeshadow honestly. Yes, eyeshadow!! I guess you can call it contouring your eyes. It looks so natural and if you use your contour color (or bronzer) as your eyeshadow as well it harmonizes your whole face, give it a try if you have never done it! The yellow in this makes a really bright under eye, maybe for photo shoots or events. Wouldn’t do that daily basis. But the light colors look beautifully on your inner corners of your eye. It’s a powder texture but easy blendable with buildable coverage. All colors are matte warm neutrals except for the shimmer highlight. I personally don’t like the brush if comes with. Rephrase I actually love the brush it not for contouring! It is too stiff and makes harsh lines and doesn’t blend too well! I would suggest a angled contour brush or even a fluffy powder/bronzer brush. That’s personal preference I guess. It’s just really difficult to apply with the provided brush in my opinion.gabriela .w
This was the first contour palette I ever used and… i'm just going to say it….it's the best contour palette ever for fair skin. I have KVD shade + light contour palette and ABH cream contour palette, and have used their powder contour palette as well, but I ALWAYS go back to Lorac's. This palette gives you the definition of a contour, like chiseled, model-like bone structure contour. The powders are so soft, fine, light, and pigmented that you don't need to use a heavy hand to work with them. They sit on the skin beautifully, whether you set your face with powder after applying foundation or just use these right on top of your foundation, they blend out so nicely. I love KVD's contour palette, but sometimes it looks a bit pink on me and I have no idea why, while the ABH one can be a bit too warm, but still great. Lorac's just NEVER looks pink, too warm, or muddy. These contour shades are all have a cool undertone to them so they really do contour as if your face had natural shadows, even the warmest shade. I also want to mention how long this palette has lasted me considering I use it almost every day; I've had it for about 4 years now and I still have not hit pan on any of the shades except the highlighter. The highlighter that comes in this palette is SO beautiful! I would repurchase this palette again for the highlight alone. It is my absolute favorite out of all the hundreds I own. It manages to look natural but soooo glowy all at the same time and there's a slight shimmer to it without any glitter, I would say pearlized. It's just so beautiful and makes you look so lit from within. It is powdery, but it never looks like it when it's on the skin, especially if you set your face with MAC fix+, it makes the highlighter look even more beautiful. I hate the brush this palette comes with though, it's not great for contouring at all and I think Lorac should just stop selling the brush with this palette (also think Lorac should sell the highlight in this palette as an individual highlight), and I recommend using a defined, fluffy contour brush for best results.amber.f
I ordered this during a 21 Days of Beauty sale. I'd considered it so many times but it was never something I felt I needed. I prefer, and mostly use, cream contour palettes. I still use my cream contours but now I "set" the cream contours with this palette. I've had my fair share of other powder contour palettes throughout the years but have given them away because I just love cream products and would rather not have expired makeup when someone else could use them. I've always enjoyed Lorac shadow palettes, mainly yearrrrs ago but still have my favorite Pro 3. These powders are VERY nice, too. Quite powdery, especially the two setting/highlight shades. But that doesn't bother me personally. I use the medium contour shade over my cream contour, then set certain areas with the yellow shade. I really like this palette. And I always have used bronzer, but this holds my contour so much longer, literally all day till I take my makeup off. I haven't used it by itself, but I imagine it's probably great as a lone contour. As for the brush, it's not the best brush for powder contour because it is quite stiff and could possibly move your foundation or cream products. It's likely personal preference, too, as I prefer longer brush hairs for this. But it does okay for me the couple times i tried it. It does the best on the forehead and jawline. But not on the cheeks. Too stiff, short and tightly packed. Overall, I do like this palette and I now think it's worth getting anytime but getting it during the sale is so much sweeter!Mommy & Max

Powder for someone who hates powders! I usually find that powders make my skin look worse (especially loose setting powders), so I had all but given up. Then I received a teeeeeny tiny mini compact of this from Sephora—it was so cute! How could I not toss it in my makeup bag? Well, I've bought this four or five times since then, so safe to say I love it! I usually use this with lighter weight foundations, when I still want a skin-like finish but I want to add a little oomph. I tend to use it on my t-zone, especially on my nose; it mattifies (but not too much), adds a little bit of extra coverage over my redness, and extends the wear time. One important note is that this pan is very shallow, and it can shatter easily once you've hit pan. However, it represses well, and there's usually a ton more product left than you think!erin.r
I wanted this for a very long time. It’s royalty in the world of cult favorite beauty products. Any beauty aficionado can spot the gold compact a mile away. I also do my makeup on the go often so pressed powder is a must for me. Some of my favorites are Clinique Redness Solutions, Tarte Shape Tape Glow Powder, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder, and Too Faced It’s Bananas Powder. My biggest problem with pressed powder is if they shatter on me. I am not above repressing my powder but it’s not the ideal situation. I have combination, fair skin. This powder does not seem in danger of shattering. I bring it with me a lot and it hasn’t fractured even slightly. Which is good because I don’t think this would be a candidate for repress, it’s very thin and the pan is shallow. As far as application, I use a fluffy brush. The denser the brush with this will give you more coverage, but also can give you more cake. This powder gives an immediate and more drastic soft focus effect than most powder. It’s also immediately mattifying. It has a luminous finish, but really soaks up oil immediately and throughout the day. It’s like a finishing powder that truly sets makeup at the same time. As long as the brush is fluffy enough it’s a great under eye setting powder. I would make certain that you are sufficiently mCCoisturized under makeup to avoid any dry skin feeling or appearance. Really, for all the powder I have claiming to deliver a soft focus finish, this one truly does that. I have to note, though, that this powder does darken my other base products by about half a shade. I try to pair this with my fairest foundation and concealer. It’s true, the product amount is tiny in relation to price and other similar product amounts. But, if you have some extra change lying around, and you are committed to a soft focus finish and a boujee experience, this is your powder.julie.c
WOW! This setting Powder is the lightest most natural looking and feeling setting Powder that I've ever tried! It's a Pressed Powder which is different for me because I usually use a loose setting Powder. This one sets even the dewyest foundation. It only takes a tiny bit to fully set my entire face. It goes on super smooth and Blends out nicely. I purchased the lightest fair shade but it's not white or chalky at all. It's a natural light skin color so it doesn't make me look like a ghost. One of my favorite parts is that when I'm applying it it doesn't fluffy and fall all over me. It just Grips to the brush and my skin. It's freaking AMAZING. This is my #1 favourite powder. I love how undetectable it is on the skin. I am now at that age where fine lines are becoming a reality and this powder with it's light reflecting properties deflects away from my imperfections. It is super light on my oily skin and does not make me feel like I'm wearing a mask like some other powders do. I can touch up without having to worry that I might get cake face. I've a habit of chopping and changing my foundation. Even the type, from liquid to mineral. I am very happy with my purchase of this Mac Mineral, which I got in Medium shade; I am light to medium skin tone, some slight red veins showing but not too bad, pores tend to look obvious, especially on my nose, when I've tried other foundations but I find with this one, it covers them well and I feel they are much less noticeable. I think I ended up doing 3 'layers' in the areas of redness/veins and 1 layer was fine in the other parts of my face. It lasts the whole of the day. Very light finishing powder that gives a gentle luminosity to your skin. This color is great because it brightens up my skin tone without making it look lighter or ashy at all. I’ve seen how versatile these mineralized skin finishes are and am quite happy with mine. I’m only taking a star off because there are many finishing powders that I use now from both affordable brands and mid tier brands that are even smoother in texture and finely milled with their luminosity. Not what I was looking for, but beautiful nevertheless. I wanted to buy a full face for makeup by Mario. I'm more of a full coverage girl. I have oily skin and have started to find an interest in more balm like skin tints and foundations. This is a very light coverage balm like enhancer. I will say that the ingredients are very impressive. the balm stays at the same consistency, but it isn't enough coverage for me and there's too much oil for my already oily skin. I feel like this product doesn't pair well with the contour skin enhancer stick. The skin enhancer eats away at the contour so it will turn to nothing. I believe that this is a good product. It will leave your skin looking dewy and hydrated like a true goddess however it's not my cup of tea. This makes for a good no makeup makeup look. One way to work to build coverage would be to add a little bit of a concealer or few drops of foundation into the product.gabbriellasea
I was very curious about this product, tbh just thought it was another bronzer, but then when you read the directions, it tells you to blend from the perimeter of your face to the center, which you wouldn’t do with a bronzer. I was reluctant, but I followed the instructions…. WOW! It gives you a little bit of color, almost like a fake tanner would, but like a fake tanner combined with a balm where you also get smoothing and coverage. It does leave your skin with a beautiful lot from within glow, but if you’re not into that powder easily takes that away. (Btw this also applies beautifully on top of powder and foundations as well.) The more I played around with this product I realized that this is the perfect product for someone like myself who has melasma. It blends the dark spots into the rest of my skin because it’s a darker color than what I would normally use for a foundation or balm. If you’d like to see both of Mario’s enhancer and Perfector products fully tested under multiple conditions and lighting, I did an entire dedicated video on YouTube at The Not so Evil Stepmother. SHADE: My initial thought was, oh no – this is much too dark, and I do not wear bronzers. How can I put this to use? After reading how others were using it (contour, edges of the face, etc) I decided to give it a try under my cheek bones. Hello Definition! But in the most believable and natural way. It has an almost warm reddish-brown hue that applies smoothly over my foundation and with under cream blush. This is also sheer enough to blend out and disappear where I do not want it. TEXTURE: Gorgeously creamy and buttery soft. The product feels weightless on the fingertips. LONGEVITY: Set under finishing powder, this lasts about half of the day most days, depending on level of activity (and being indoor/outdoors). My cheeks tend to be drier than the rest of my face, so it is possible that my skin absorbs it as the day wears on. A mini for mid-day touch ups would be fantastic. Overall: My expectations were minimal, but the results have been outstanding for me. I love the shape this gives to my face, it really does enhance the features and for how easy it is to use, this is a love and a brand I will explore further.eshoe

This product does what it advertises – it feels velvety smooth as a setting powder, achieves a fresh-feeling finish (not the immediately dry, Cakey feeling many others leave), and it provides a soft focus effect. The ‘glitter’ is indeed pearlized and not at all inherently noticeable as glitter – unless you’re looking at it under a microscope. I really like this powder and I’m so surprised by the negative reviews! It definitely has a little shimmer as expected since it’s a “radiant translucent” powder but it doesn’t whatsoever look like a highlighter on the skin and you can definitely use it all over. It just looks radiant if applied with a fluffy brush and sets makeup beautifully!Brianna25
I will start with 3 stars and then adjust (I feel 3 could be generous). Akin to what most all others are noting here, this is a highlighting powder. It’s fully infused with sparkles. In no way can you use this all over your entire face to set something and not look quasi insane (unless you are starring in the stage production of Cats that afternoon). I love Jouer products, so I will give it a shot as a highlighter and see how I like it. Otherwise, sadly, it goes back.SMK55
