Secondly, its like a regular book and not a three ring book that Im used to from BHG. The book is full of funky, kitschy recipes and Molly Bazisms while still being informative and teaching basic kitchen skills. The recipes are everything but basic, though, so if you're looking for non-experimental recipes, I suggest you look elsewhere! This book is amazing! I have used it every day since I bought it. The recipes are simple and easy to follow and have plenty of variations. There are recipes from a variety of cuisines. Each food section has a introduction that is extremely helpful in explaining all you need to know about various pastas, rices, meats, vegetables and how to prepare them. There are also plenty of simple but sophisticated recipes that rival any gourmet cookbook. Anyone who says the internet has eliminated the need for cookbooks hasn't read this one! I originally took this book out of the library and I enjoyed it so much, I knew I had to purchase it. This book does share how to cook EVERYTHING and it is a nice thick book. One of the things I really enjoy about this book is after a recipe, he shares many, many ideas for variations on that particular recipe. Another thing I really like about it is, in addition to the recipes, he takes the time to explain the basics of things like the differences between flours, oils, spices, and so on.
