I use this mower in my back yard only. It is big but small enough that I can mow between getting my yard cut by my yard guy. The cord is aggravating because I have to keep flipping it out of the way. I get exercise when I cut the yard but if I could afford another mower I would probably get a gas mower. Also I love that this mower mulches.excercise

The value was great. For a fraction of a battery powered lawn mower cost, you get somewhat more HP, and don't have purchase greatly overpriced spare batteries which can cost hundreds of dollars. This lawn mower cost about the same a one 18 volt 6.0 AH Ryobi lithium-ion battery (source Home Depot Retail). The Greenworks mower was half the cost or even less than a single similar AH capacity 40V, 56V, or 80V battery. That's just crazy. Probably because no one wants to deal with a cord. Yes, you have a cord to work around, and mowing takes slightly more time to finish, however I've got the technique down. We already had a 100' 12 AWG cord, so we've just dedicated that cord to the mower. The Greenworks 25112 weighs about 50 lbs, or 40 lbs less than our Honda HRX gas powered mower. The Honda has been a great mower and its ~6 HP can blow through tall wet grass which we have to deal with in NW Oregon. However, our primary motivation to purchase an electric mower was weight, although less noise and pollution were considerations also. We have to walk the mower up stone steps to get from the back to front yard and garage. The ~90lb self-propelled Honda was a pain transitioning back and forth. The lighter 120V/13A, 2HP, electric lawn mower seems powerful enough so far. You won't get 2HP from a battery powered mower – period. You also don't have to worry about charging batteries and having a spare on hand in case the mower dies in the middle of mowing the yard. Our total yard area is somewhere between 1/8 and 1/4 acre. Then there's the life cycle cost of having two batteries and replacing them after X number of years. I think a corded lawn mower has great value, and the Greenworks 25112 has been great to use so far.Stewart
good machine I had the cords for my other electrical equipment chainsaw weed wacker edger blower everything. I'm not cutting very thick grass so I can't really talk about that but it is easier to change the height it's very light I would say it's a good machine in that most people should take a chance and buy it. one thing you got to remember you got to have pretty long cords and so you need to figure out a strategy so you're not constantly getting tangled up with them that's the biggest problem I'm having unlike my other equipment where I'm kind of walking around a little bit down the sidewalks and stuff the more you're going back and forth and you have to have a good layout of the chords.. so it's light it's easy to change the height it works really well cuts nice I would say take a chance and buy it. I'll be sharpening the blade here in the next couple cuts I've used it about eight times so I like to keep the blade real sharp. and if you're cutting thicker grass you better keep the blade Sharp and walk slow. just a suggestion I haven't used it like that but I walk pretty slow even though my grass is not very thick..Kent
My wife and I really like this mower. Walmart delivered it on time. The box was a little torn and that did concern me, but everything was fine. First, I would suggest that there are two people to help take the mower out of the box. Second, the instructions are pretty good but you will most likely need to read things two to three times to understand them. Personally, I assembled the mower with the cables below the mower handle. Not a big deal, but when putting the mower away for the first time, I realized I could not fold the mower handle in half to save garage space because the cables prevented the top half of the handle from fully collapsing. Anyway, the mower, itself, is excellent. Plenty of power to run over tall grass and weeds. The width of 21" is fantastic. Also, the fact that you have the option of mulching, sending the grass on the side or bagging is very nice. The handle is adjustable and excellent for tall people. The handle is quite comfortable, comparatively to other mowers. The lawn mower, while not self-propelled, is very light. My wife had no problem using it. One feature that blew me away was the "throttle-looking" handle on the mower, itself, near the mower handle. This one handle EASILY moves all four wheels to the same height. Mind blown! Because this is an electric mower…no gas smell or maintenance. BTW: Those wondering about the cord getting in the way…yes it can get in the way, but you get used to managing the cable. However, this is far easier than dealing with praying the mower starts (been there, done that?), changing the oil, breathing in gas fumes, etc. I highly recommend this mower. Just took possession yesterday 2/21/21. I have a small lot in Florida with a lot of river Oaks that shed their leaves (about 2" oval, thick) about mid February. PIA to rake up, especially if you have rotator cuff problems and back problems. I bought this because another reviewer said it worked like a vacuum cleaner / mower. I TOTALLY AGREE. The mower is light weight and maneuvers easily. It did very well mowing and picking up leaves in the 3rd position. In taller St Augustine grass, the 2nd position would bog down and it would be very slow going, so 3rd height is better. Slightly damp leaves in shaded areas took 2 passes (one forward, 2nd backing up) Getting used to the cord management took a bit of getting used to, but once I got the hang of it, pretty easy. (I have never owned a corded mower before.) Always mow away from the outlet source, preferably at a ~90 degree angle to your outlet so cord follows/trails you. A 75 ft 14/3 gauge extension cord worked great. I'm sure a cordless would be easier, but with the corded, you always have 10 amps, 120V of power. Bag works very well, held more than I thought it would! When it starts getting full, the front wheels tend to get harder to keep down on the grass and it's harder to push. It pays to check! The bag is a bit tricky to remove when full due to weight, easy to reattach when empty. And it vacuums better with an empty bag. I was VERY happy with how well it vacuumed up the Oak leaves! And the grass clippings left on the lawn were nearly none existant. Nothing for the dog to track in! My neighbors were impressed also with the job it did. One thought it merely vacuumed the leaves and was amazed that it cut the grass too! So this year I cleaned up the leaves for about 1/2 the cost of having them raked and in 1/2 the time. Easy and quick assembly. The mower works well and is easy to maneuver. Even my 11yr old can push up the small hill in our backyard. Bagging the grass is easy with a decent sized bag. And, you can even mow without the bag attached without getting clogged or large grass clumps. The only issue is the battery life, but this is my third cordless electric mower (each from a different manufacturer) and that seems to be a constant. When it comes to making fairly major purchases, my wife jokes I take so much time reading and viewing videos of ratings and reviews that models I consider have been replaced by a newer ones. It's true; I do take my time researching as there is hardly anything more disappointing than to spend hard-earned money on something and then be very dissatisfied. Haste does make waste and without my spending time for due diligence, I have myself to blame. I start out with a need and search for what can satisfy that need. Then, I do read and view…while learning things I wouldn't have thought of initially (e.g. a brushless motor). Oftentimes, you can't get everything you want or you find out you can, but it is cost prohibitive. So this was my situation. I mow most of my property with a 48" lawn tractor. I say most because we have concrete edging around our numerous flower beds and shrubs. The tractor cannot fit in-between some (and neither could the 22" mower. Year before last, my gas powered mower died. Well, being a young 71 years old last year I decided I would tackle all those areas with just a string trimmer instead of buying a new mower. I should also mention that I used those tools in getting under and around 8 crepe myrtles. On top of that, our outdoor patio has grass slopes on 3 sides that got their attention as the lawn tractor has never been a possibility. Halfway through this mowing season, I began considering options. A thought came to mind that I could maybe cut way down on the amount of string trimmer usage if I had a smaller mower that could fit between the areas of edging, get up under the crepe branches, and wasn't so heavy that the slopes around the patio could be mowed vs being scalped with the weed eater. We live in South Carolina and have Bermuda grass for lawn. So my solution was to find a mower that would fit between 20" areas of edging and be powerful enough to cut Bermuda. Of course, I also had wants (and here is where it got even trickier to get everything) like a battery that would last long enough for me to do all I needed to complete on one full charge; have both mulching and bagging capability; light enough to push and maneuver on the patio slopes without struggling; and I learned I really wanted a brushless motor for longevity and the power. Yeah, and I wanted it from a company with a decent reputation at a price I could afford and justify. I found all that I and caught a super sale price from the Greenworks quite a bit lower than the big box store carrying it. I also received fast delivery and it was easy to put together and begin to use. But most importantly, and I wouldn't write this if I didn't feel good about doing so because I count on other reviewers' honesty. I have yet to be disappointed with my purchase and I recommend you doing the same if it will satisfy your needs like it has mine.

Right out of the box, the clamps on the handles were loose, had to add many washers to each to get it to hold the handle securely. Many complaints: the grass catcher is very hard to secure to the mower and cut grass builds up on the underside plastic mower deck even when the lawn is dry. It lasted 2 seasons and the motor slowly died for a week until it just died completely, one week out of warranty. Talk about planned obsolescence.Vegcyclist
I bought this model a few weeks ago and have only used it a few times. My last one was a 15 year old B&D model that sadly died after hitting a water pipe. Sleep well good soul. But the new one is well worth the money. It had a good solid feel and the motor has more power that my old model and feels like it's up to the task. The height lever adjusts smoothy, more so than my old on. I thought I might not like the bike handled model and I am glad I went with the straight bar. My only problem is I haven't figured out how to use the cord retention gizmo, but I just tied the cord to the handle. Problem solved. And I do miss the flip lever on my old model as I had had plenty of time to get used to it but the new one makes the turn well and is a fair trade off. Good price too, I saw the same model a few weeks later at an other hardware store listed for $450.00 with a "special price " poster on it. Ha ha.Sold123
Replaced a 20-year-old B&D mower. Love the extra power but extremely miss the feature my old mower had where you could flip over the handle at the end of each row. What used to take two passes is now done in one. I didn't want the hassle of charging batteries or pushing the extra weight of a battery, so rechargeable was not an option for me. And absolutely no way I would consider a gas mower for environmental reasons and more. Five-star rating for sure, hopefully, another 20 years of mowing bliss! Bought this mower and the display in the store says it is a 2 in 1. Bag and mulcher??? There is no plug so grass comes flying out of the back with no bag. I emailed Black and Decker and they said it does mulch. So how does it work??? I had never owned or even tried an electric mower before so we were very eager to try this one out. It was a little assembly from the box (pictured) but it did not take long to get it up and ready to go. This is very convenient since you don’t get gas and you don’t have to worry about running out or going to get it when you need to mow your lawn. We have a smaller yard, so the cord isn’t an issue. We just needed to invest in a good extension cord, and you’re good to go. My husband enjoys the mower and states it is easy to push and navigate around the yard. It’s very inexpensive for a mower and a great value. We might be full electric mower owners now, and not going back! The quality is great and I highly recommend this product. The easy grip bar is also nice because it makes it comfortable, and not hot to the touch. It stores Nicely and we are quite happy with the product.its also environmentally friendly and doesn’t give off that gas smell that the typical mower does. I was looking for a replacement for my 35 year old gas mower that was getting tired. I found this Greenworks 20 inch 12 Amp corded lawn mower at a very good price point. Using a corded electric mower is relatively easy when you mow progressively away from the point of plugging in the extension cord, I looked at the Extension cord requirements & opted to "UpSize" to 12/3 versus the minimum 14/3 called for in the user manual,This way I am assured of getting full power at the end of a 100 foot cord & if necessary I can extend out to 150 feet with the 12/3 cord specification. This 20 inch mower is very powerful compared to a gas engine mower and the sublime quietness of the electric motor is nice versus the ROAR of a gas engine, I was easily able to mow through 12 inch high grass by making 3/4 wide swaths through the tall grass & proceeding slowly which is easy in 90F heat. For my initial use of this mower I opted to use the side discharge chute because using the grass catcher would have required many empty-ings of the catcher due to the grass height. I really like the easy of setting the cutting height with 1 lever & at 3-3/4 inches it is the height I wanted in a lawn mower so that I do not scalp the lawn like I see professional mowers do, There is no greater joy than the feeling of using a well made New lawn mower after nursing my old gas engine unit for "just another mowing season". Was about 80% through my first mowing w/Greenworks 12 Amp 20! Corded Lawn Mower, and the mower stopped. Checked various obvious causes, including power outlet blew the breaker (no), letting it sit a while and then try again, etc. The mower itself does not have a breaker switch on it, so am wondering if my mower is an earlier version (some PDFs of the parts show this, but pix on the GW site show a mower w/o a breaker, and looks like mine). Wondering if the Rectifier went south? I saw this on another post, and am going to poke about for one of those… a response from support with their thoughts would be helpful!SamSam
I have no doubt that I will love my new lawnmower if I ever get it. It arrived almost three weeks ago the only problem that it was a chainsaw. I’m 79 years old and I don’t think I have what it takes anymore to mow my yard with a chainsaw. I first tried to straighten this out the day I got it but being 57th in line and staying on the phone for 3 1/2 hours I almost gave up. Finally got to talk with D. Cacciatore. He was very nice but even though I’ve messsaged him almost every day since, nothing has happened.! I’m still tripping over an unopened box with a chainsaw on the label. I know I’m getting older every day but I figured out that you can’t fit a lawnmower in a chainsaw box. Please, please help me. At the rate this is going I’ll be in heaven by the time it arrives and I’m quite sure that I won’t need to mow up there. Thank you Greenways. Although unit design no longer has cord–wrap storage brackets, the balance is superbly delivered. Rig is about 6 to 8 dB louder than a typical upright vacuum cleaner, (yes, it's that quiet). Machine has plenty of power, cutting 8–inch mixed grasses easily. Cord guide–bracket is a tight fit for industrial–sized 12 ga. extension cord, but it's manageable. Bag mounts easily and is quickly removed for emptying. Plastic appears to be solid and robust, time will tell if lasts without cracking and deterioration. For 1/4–acre or less sized lawns, this is a great choice. Vibration is minimal, 35 minutes of use did not cause any fatigue. Chafe only accumulates above deck at bag mounts, so is easily removed. Parts are readily available allowing one to maintain device properly.CD
Yes there are pros and cons with this lawnmower. Some of the pros are: It was easy to put together, although 2 people are a plus when putting it together. The enclosed directions are good and easy to follow. It's size and lightweight to works well in small and closed spaces. Another pro is it's powerful AC electric motor that runs the blade. I'm not sure this is a pro or con but except for the handle, blade and motor the entire unit (frame) is made of plastic including the wheels. I would have prefered rubber wheels. The cutting height is very easy to adjust. In my opinion this lawnmower would have been better as a cordless with about a 20 volt or more battery with charger. instead of a corded mower. The cord gets in the way of mowing but if you're used to a corded lawnmower you all ready know that. Somewhere in the directions it reads this is for 1/8 acre or less. That is definitely true. If a person lived in an apartment or condo with very little grass to mow this should work better than a string trimmer and give you more even grass cut. As far as edging close to a sidewalk or driveway a string trimmer or edging tool will work better. I would like to see the manufacturer do some more design and make this a cordless electric mower. The design is good, just not as a corded mower. Even though my front yard is less than 1/8 acre and I don't know anyone with a yard less than 1/8 acre, I would not recommend this to anyone, although I do like it. Front yard here we come.CardinalBB
I’m sorry, I don’t like to be negative, I try to find the positive in everything, but I don’t like much, if anything, about this mower. First issue was it just looked cheap. Plastic, lightweight, the wheels are basic plastic similar to the wheels on my sons toy wagon, no joke. Assembly seemed very simple and quick, since it’s so small it comes mostly assembled in the box except for the bagger and handle so you would think simple, right? Nope. Couldn’t get the handle screws on, it was like they were both stripped, just kept spinning and spinning and wouldn’t tighten. After about twenty minutes of both my husband and I trying, we quit! Luckily my husband has what we needed to get it together with regular bolts and nuts and it worked perfectly. THIS DOES NOT COME WITH A CORD. So we had to go purchase a long outdoor cord to try it out FYI. It’s rather cumbersome to be pushing around a lower and holding a cord out of the way at the same time. Much like I do when vacuuming. It ran a bit more quiet than my gas mower which was nice. Didn’t cut grass as well though. As you can see in my picture it’s all different lengths. Bottom line, for me, this is a huge pass! it took about 45 minutes to unpack and get ready for the yard. everything went together fairly smooth. I used a very heavy duty power cord and it worked fine. I thought the push button was not working but when I pushed and held for a second it started up with no problem. adjusting the height was simple and quick but mower did not like any grass over 6 inches. using the pivot was very worrysome to me because I was not used to pushing a button and squeezing a lever to make the handle pivot so I mostly use the mower without pivoting the grass catcher seemed to work alright as long as you were moving slowly. the mower is very light and easy to pick up and move around. I am using it to mow around the areas the rider wont get to and in the garden area. a very well put together mower and should last a while with good maint.yellahammer

I have never mowed grass in my life. I brought the lawn mower when I moved into my new duplex apartment. Tenants would share use of and lawncare for front and back yards. I moved on the first floor but 2nd floor was presently unoccupied. I thought whoever moved in could share my lawn mower too! The mower is light weight and very easy to assemble. When I first used it I found out that if I did not empty the grass bag when it was full the mower wouldn't run. Epic piece of crap. Not long after purchasing the bolt holding the handle on came off, the bolt could not be remounted (damage from movement), had to purchase a compatible but not identical one from the sun joe website (the crank nut holding on the bolt is cheap plastic). Now the handles started snapping in half (above the bolts, first one side, now the other is joining). "DON'T CONTACT THE RETAILER, CONTACT SUN JOE" does eff all. they have not bothered to respond. I've barely had it a couple years, and its just a massive piece of trash. How much of an environmental impact are you making when your crap is more likely to hit a landfill, and deservedly so?Crystal
We decided to purchase this lawn mower because we owned one years ago and loved it. They are so much quieter than a gas mower and easier to maneuver. You can lower it to different heights. The lowest setting is extremely low and can sometimes drag the ground. We liked that setting because it cleaned leaves on our lawn. We just would dump the grass and leaves in a bag and continue on. The next setting higher still picks up leaves and makes the grass classy and nice. The electrical cord doesn't seem to get in the way, but be very mindful of it so as not to run over it. Follow instructions and you won't have a problem. We highly recommend this lawn mower. No more running to get gas when you run out and you can avoid paying high prices at the station. Just plug in and go!! The bag on the back is great and a snap to empty. It doesn't take up a lot of room and easy to store. If you choose to not use the bag, you can, but it comes out the back and can get on your legs, though not a problem.Denise

I bought this mower over a month ago. I have used it twice and both times it has done a fine job of mowing the lawn. The engine is strong. The ground I mow on is quite uneven so if I have the height too low it can get stuck. Going up a slope, the same. But keeping the height adjustment higher solves the problem. It is pretty lightweight to use and makes it easy to be put away. The small issue I have with it is unfolding and folding the handle. It is hard to get the pieces apart to make the handle move. I struggle with it though always manage in the end. The pieces fit together in a zigzag pattern. Even when I think I have loosened the bolts and pulled it apart enough, it won't move. As I say, I do manage in the end and it is good to be able to fold it up for storage, but if I had more space I would just leave it unfolded.wwmarie
After comparing similar model from Yardworks, Green Machine and Craftsman. I decided to go with Craftsman just for the brand name, as all had same functionality, features and price. Setup took about 10 minutes right out the box, height is easy to adjust, very lightweight. My lawn is about 300 sq ft and took about 20-30 minutes. The cord carrying is pain, but it compensates for not having to worry about gas, oil and running out of battery if cordless. The handle height seemed ok to me and I am 5.10, for someone 5.5 and under, it would seem uncomfortable. The bag is easy to put on and off. So far, I love it, and would recommend.Imdad
Ordered online on night of June 11th, available for pickup June 13th afternoon. I was looking for a light lawnmower because I have a steep slope in my backyard, that rules out gas and cordless. This unit is light and maneuverable. It have a powerful 13A motor. My last B&D mower which gave up the ghost had a 9A motor. A sizable cut path. It surely is not built to last 20 years, but I don't think any of the corded lawn mower you can find on the market are. I had 2 B&D corded lawn mower, both motors died but the metal deck were intact though rusty. I think this mower should last about as long as the others. The one part I don't like about this mower is the lack of a mulcher as some grass clippings escape via the side of the back hatch if you do not use the rear bag, which I don't, guess nothing a couple strip of duct tape won't fix.Ed99

3 years ago we moved into a house from the city… big mistake… but I had to mow my new to me 1/3 acre with something… I found this beauty on the line for a bit over a hundo.. I figured if it wasn’t good it wasnt a huge investment… I was never a fan of gas mowers, electric mowers or mowing for that matter… our new house is in the hill towns of Westchester, what a pain.. my front yard is only good for 2 things… growing weeds in the summer and sledding in the winter…This little green devil is light.. I figured on a hill ya don’t want heavy…so true… Oh, and it cuts like a trained assassin! Neighbors ask what kind of mower does such clean work.. And I have abused this thing, accidentally sent it down my back hill careening over rocks and over a 3 foot wall… I cursed while taps played in my head .. but she was still good…not a crack and started right up… It mulches more stuff than I should let it…I’m positive I’m breaking those rules. This year I bought a replacement blade cause I bent the orig on a big rock…I have a lot of rocks…and stumps, too… I hit them … never on purpose…sometimes it’ll stop the motor…but she starts right back up again and again and again…. Positives – inexpensive, light weight, tough and a great cutter / mulcher. Negatives – stupid cord … takes getting used to but way better than gas for my porpoises! I wanted to wait to review this until I'd used it a few times. Just finished my 6th lawn mow of the summer and I'm loving this mower. It's light weight and has a handle so I can lift it with one hand to put it away! I was very excited about that because gas mowers are too heavy and awkward to lift. I can also turn it over to clean out any stuck grass without worrying about gas or oil leaking out the top like with gas mowers. I only have to stop maybe once every half hour to check and see if there's grass build up on the bottom, unless I use the bag, which I only did the very first time when my lawn was overgrown. Using the bag definitely added to how long it took me to mow, but it was worth it the first time to have a cleared lawn. There was minimal assembly required, which was nice. The size is pretty good for my needs, though it takes me about 2.5 hours to mow mine and my neighbor's yard (recently decided to split that in half and do mine one week, hers the next in an alternating pattern). I use a 150 ft cord that I borrowed from my father so I have decent range and only have to plug into my neighbors house to do her front yard. I like the height sizes this mower has and it switches sizes in less than a second. So easy! It's somewhat quieter than a gas push mower. And my favorite feature of all: How easy it is to start. No pulling and pulling on a cord until my arm hurts. Just press a button and pull the lever on the handle.Louisa B

I bought one of these last year and it quit working and I thought it was from abuse. So I bought another one this year. We used it 4 times and it did the same thing only hums and wont spin or cut the grass. We checked and nothing is caught in the blade. I am taking this one back to the store. Used it for one year, kept it clean, today the motor slowed way down and stopped. I immediately shut it off. I took the whole thing apart all the way to the motor. After 1.5 hours of air cooling, the heat sink that wraps the motor was still too hot to touch. After letting it completely cool off another two hours, I power the motor after thoroughly pressured air cleaning it. With no load (I unstrapped the drive belt, leaving the motor to spin unloaded), it struggled to spin at first, got up to speed after about 12 seconds, seized and hummed. I immediately shut it off, and the heat sink was again too hot to touch. The motor is basically done.Grass Mower Man
I bought this lawn mower from Home Depot on February 2020 and it only worked until May of 2020. While using it on a hot day, the motor stopped running. It slowed down and stopped running. I tried to get the warranty and get it repaired with no results. Wasted $200.00 and no usable lawn mower. Black and Decker's warranty is useless. I had low expectations for this mower as I have had bad experience with the last electric mower we bought. This little monster raised that bar quite high. Our yard is small, but the grass is very thick. This mower turned a half a days job into just under an hour. The collection bag is well constructed as well as the chute that connects. I bought this product to reduce my carbon foot print and the SunJoe does just that. From out of the box assembly to the first lawn cut the SunJoe was easy to assemble and use. For a small town house or a medium lawn the SunJoe does a great job. My only disappointments was the cord and Cut size. I'm concerned with running over the cord because there is no cord retraction device and I had to provide my own cord, no big deal. As someone one who complies with osha on a regular basis, this machine does what it's supposed to do. As for the cut size I wouldn't recommend this for a large lawn because the 14 inch requires more time to cut. The attachments are easy to use and the grass catcher does a great job. The SunJoe even performs good with wet grass. I would recommend the SunJoe to anyone trying to reduce their carbon foot print and can't afford a battery operated mower. My reason for 4 not 5 stars are the minor conveniences of the cord and the size of the cut otherwise I would have given a 5 star rating. I think a 22in electric mower with a automatic retract would be a great improvement.Omer

I just needed something really simple, easy to store for a small courtyard I was looking after. This folds to almost noting for storage, has plenty of power for my taller grass. No gas to keep, just use a short electric cord which can be lighter in gauge due to the smaller motor. It's neat and clean what else can I say. It's made very solid and excellent quality. I highly recommend it for the apartment dweller with a small yard, with little storage and wanting to keep things super simple. This is my second Greenworks mower and I have loved them both. Exactly perfect for a small, uneven yard! I have 2 areas of Bermuda lawn in my backyard, and can't cut it with a standard lawnmower. My yard guy has been doing it with a string trimmer, but it's a fairly big area to do this as often as it needs cutting, and you have to be really careful not to dig into the grass with the string. This small string mower is so right for this application. It's small enough to keep close to the contours of the bumps and valleys in the grass, and the wheels prevent the string from going too low. It took me about 10 minutes to get the job done. It is super light and plastic, so of course I am worried about how long it will last, but with the first try, I couldn't stop saying "this is fantastic!!". It wasn't hard to assemble, but the directions are for crap and you need a magnifying glass to read them or see the pictures.Anne
My lawnmover was broken and my son wanted me to but a trimmer. I thought this would be a good interm solution. I originally bought this as a trimmer and a short term mower solution but I really like it as a mower. It is light enough for me to pull it out 10 minutes before company comes and I don’t have to worry about oil and gas. It is super easy to mow around the tree and under the bushes. So, I don't remember how long ago I got this, but I have the deck and an LST 400 trimmer from before there was a lithium combo bundled for this product. I'm on at least my 3rd summer using it. Overall I've been incredibly happy with the ease of use and functionality. I have a small city lot, so this is my only mower. I have about 700 sqft of lawn, so it's the perfect size to use this for everything. There are a few key things that have always been problematic. 1. The way the trimmer connects to the deck has a habit of coming detached. This is especially true as you use it over time. Cleaning the deck thoroughly makes it stay together better, but it still pops out pretty easily and it's had that issue as long as I remember. I wish there was some form of latch to lock the trimmer into the deck. This would make it much easier to use. 2. I have a very bumpy lawn and the lower height setting is worthless here, so I always keep it set to the higher setting. Because the wheels adjust but do not lock into the height in any way, they tend to drop to the shorter setting and sometimes I have to adjust this 2 – 3 times in a single mowing. 3. The height / angle for the handle is awkward for mowing. If you do ever redesign this, it may be worth putting the deck on a slight tilt to raise the angle on the handle. All that said, these are pretty minor things and otherwise I love the ease of use of the product and would recommend it to others who have the right size lawn for it. If you fall into that group with the tiny city lawn, this is a great easy way to deal with it and you don't have to keep multiple tools or deal with gas, but it's not for everyone.Baboon

I purchased this mower because i got tired of the maintenance needed for my gas mower, plus I've switched all my other tools to battery powered ones so my mower was the last to be done. I researched everywhere online to find a mower that was powerful enough to cut my front and back lawn which grow very thick and dense.I needed it to be able to cut even damp thick grass as we get quite a bit of rain where i live. My front lawn is about 1500 square feet and my back is a bit smaller at 1200 square feet. After using it for a month i can say that so far I'm actually impressed. The battery charges really fast and the roughly 50min+ run time lasts long enough for me to mow both lawns and still have charge in the battery. June was an especially rainy month so my lawn grew really fast reaching about 6+ inches in a week. The EGO easily cut that dense, slightly damp grass just as well as my gas powered one would have. The mower has a nice large bag that's even slightly larger than the one on my other mower which is great.Overall I'd say that I'm very impressed with the EGO so far. It's powerful, cuts nicely and the battery lasts quite long and is quickly rechargeable.Please not that I've only had this mower for a month and that this review is based solely on that month of use. I've heard that the biggest concerns most have is with the battery, but i can't judge that because of the short time I've had the EGO. All in all, I think this product has so far shown itself to be every bit as good as a gas powered mower in every way but is more easily maintained and a lot quieter which means I can mow in the early morning or late evening without disturbing my neighbors.
Overall, I am happy with the lawn mower. It gets the job done with minimal fuss. It is really quiet, light, and easy to maneuver. In upright storage position it occupies very little space in my garage With the exception mentioned below, it has been a joy to use. My only major dissatisfaction is the supplied battery that started malfunctioning a year after I purchased the mower. It now stops operating after just a few minutes of use, even on full charge. After a few minutes of rest, the battery is operational again, but working 2-3 minutes at a time is just not practical. My workaround was just to use a smaller EGO battery instead (from another EGO appliance that I own), which has zero issues. Still, the replacement batteries are pretty expensive, so that was a disappointment given how I liked everything else in this mower. I am not sure about the reasons for the failure: either the battery overheats and shuts down as a safety precaution, or possibly something is wrong with the charger?AM72
I've only used the E-GO mower 3 times, so still much to be learned about it's durability and battery duration. I live in Southeast TX near Houston in the middle of an oak and pine forest, but my 1 acre lawn is very level and in great shape in most places. I'm not an environmentalist, so I'm not trying to go all "green". My regular riding mower is a 22 hp 42-inch John Deere Z-Trac. I purchased this push mower to manage a small "trouble spot" in my lawn – a peninsula between my beautiful landscaping and my swimming pool, so I wanted a bagger to keep from spraying grass clippings in either direction. So first the positive. Even though it bought this for a 5-minute job each time I mow, I've run this mower for almost an hour (on my near perfectly flat lawn which I never let get too tall prior to mowing), so no complaints about the battery life during use. In the areas of my lawn which have good drainage and sun/shade, and therefore perfect St. Augustine grass, it works great, and creates a nice clean cut and the bagger works well so there are no pine needles or leaves or clippings when finished. I love the collapsible handle and the ability to fold it down to the mower body and store it upright which takes up nearly no space in my very crowded garage. If my lawn was perfect, I'd give this mower a 4-star rating. While it is totally unfair to compare the two, my JD really creates a strong vortex which pulls the grass straight up for a totally clean cut. The E-GO cuts the height you set very cleanly, but is does not have the power to create the vortex to really raise all the "not perfect grass" (i.e., "weeds" – nutseg and bahia mixed in with my St. Augustine), so the next day the clean cut does not look all that clean (again, just in the areas where the grass is not perfect St. Augustine). This mower is not light. I'm a healthy adult male, 6' 2" and 190 pounds and pushing on a nearly flat lawn. Once the bagger starts to fill up, this thing gets really heavy. I would not recommend using this on any kind of inclines or hills. If I had to do it again, I'd pay extra for the self-propelled version – I chose NOT to get it because it adds weight and reduces the battery life; now I know better. Jury is still out … it works for my trouble spot, and it works great on areas of perfectly manicured lawn, but I would not use this for my only mower, since my lawn is not perfect everywhere.Rob L

Within a few minutes of its first use, the left rear wheel fell off. I tightened the bolt – thinking maybe the assembly team was just negligent, but it fell off again. Turns out, there was a bulge in the metal at the base of the wheel bolt that caused a ring to sit at an angle that pushed the white plastic wheel bearings toward the bolt's nut, which would unscrew as the wheel turned to mow. I was able to fix the situation by using a rotary tool with a metal grinding bit to remove the excess metal bulge and then sprayed the area with black Rustoleum; good as new, but I shouldn't have to do all of this for a brand new mower…Ross
I'm giving 5 stars but rather give my new Sun Joe a big fat heart. Put it together and used it for the first time yesterday so I can't say anything beyond the first use, but so far it's great. I love doing my own yardwork and generally do the heavy duty work while leaving the bi-weekly mowing to a lawn service. I didn't want to deal with the mower and gas and oil, etc. This year I'm home more so I decided it was time to get an electric mower and do it myself. Dragging the cord around is a tiny bit awkward, but certainly manageable in the way the vacuuming the house is. Also, this will pay for itself with money saved on lawn service in less than two months, and will be ready when the lawn needs it rather than on someone else's schedule.Kelly
