Best Cordless Electric Snow Blower (2023 Update)

I bought it for my wife. This machine is very easy to assemble, lightweight has no electrical cable, and has no mess of gas. But, the power is limited. It is good up to 3-4 inches of snow top. The spec said 10 inches. It is not possible. We have 3 inches or so of snow. The machine jammed. The battery claims 30 minutes of life. We can only get 20 minutes out of it. We finished the rest of the job by shovel.Joe

This unit is light weight, easy to use. I couldn't get the machine to run more than ten feet in -11 degree temps this morning. It just quit, and shut off after a few seconds of use. The batteries were fully charged, and showed green. I brought the batteries inside and let warm them warm to room temperature. Then they worked fine after that. I used it previously on 2 occasions without any issues, but the weather was in the low to mid thirties. I keep the charger in the garage and store the batteries nearby after charging, so maybe it was just too cold this morning. The only other issue was that a screw holding the crank to the snow discharge chute fell out, and got lost in the snow the 2nd time I used it. I replaced the screw with a cotter pin, and works fine.PW22

First time using it today. 4 inches of somewhat heavy snow. Hard to push through this snow, forget about the end of the driveway.. I bought the kit with the cover and ice scraper and 2 extra batteries. Not cheap. It will be useful for small areas with lighter snow but it does not and will not replace a gas self propelled snow blower. My mistake.Sadly

I bought this snow blower in September and have just gotten to put it to work. I'm a 71 female and live in Vermont. We just had a storm with 6 inches of heavy wet snow. Could not believe how well this machine worked! I'm not exaggerating at all. A couple weeks ago we had about 3 inches of the wet heavy snow and it worked well too but I was extremely surprised at how well it worked today too! Batteries are easy to install, remove and charge. The 1st time the chute clogged with frozen snow so I wiped some wd40 onside the chute and had no problems today. Can't say enough about this snow blower!Wahine

Got this last year after I tried the corded version which just wouldn't reach. Amazon. One acre lake property, so a long driveway. 2 car double deep pad, turnaround, and single car lane (uphill) 75'. I'm able to (or wife) clear it all except for the 2 car turnaround on one charge – up to about 4" light snow. More than that will need recharge. More than that and I'll plow with my zero turn. Would buy again, but seriously considering the upgraded 1600 watt snow joe at that point.RevOle7

My new blower arrived yesterday and today was my 1st time using it. I have experience with blowers. I lived in Minnesota for 12 years. The battery life is closer to 35 minutes. The batteries take over 1 hour to charge. The machine is NOT able to move snow over 4” high. Do you see the problem here. I used the blower. Then placed the batteries to charge. By the time they were fully charged, there were over 7” of snow in areas I didn’t get to the 1st time. I bought the blower to relieve stress on my very poor lower back, which was operated on twice. I have more metal inside my body that the blower has (it’s almost all plastic). I have to use a shovel to spread out the snow in order for the snowblower to work. This product should have come with 4 batteries (2 sets of 2) for non stop action. Otherwise, you’ll have to bundle up twice to go out in the cold. Not convenient at all.Roger

Previously i had (still working fine) a Toro 1800 whch is a plug in paddle type blower with 18" width. That was very reliable and have had it since 2005. The big issue of course is dragging the extension cord around which really slows you down. I considered a gas blower but the weight and storage was going to be a problem. The EGO has had 5 days of use this year although not a huge amount of snow. I have a double wide+ drive way, two patios, and sidewalk….about 75' long….plus I often do my two neighbors sidewalks. Taking EGOs advice I store the batteries indoors….if you keep them in a cold environment your greatly reduce their run time. I used this at the same time e neighbors used their Toro gas blowers. It seemed I was tossing snow about the same distance as theirs and since I had the auger version it got the snow down to the pavement and through some ice. In all the days I used it I was able to finish the job with out a recharge….still had two bars left on the display. I ran the speed control both at half speed and full speed to see how that used up battery charge. Didn't seem to make a huge difference. The last day it was a very wet snow with ice crusting. It got through the worst parts but the ice definitely created a challenge….not so much chewing and spitting it out…but pushing the blower through the muck as it isn't self powered. Overall it works really will but if you have snow in the feet and lots of it….you may want to get a larger machine…,perhaps a 2 stage one. Best part for me….once you remove the two batteries and fold the handle down it is pretty light and can easily fit in a small space around 2'x3'. My rear patio is about 20'x20' and the only way to get to it without dealing with all the snow on the side of the house…it taking it through the house. Since it is so light without the batteries it was no problem. A gas blower wouldn't do that. Another thing I really like is the control to rotate the chute ….easily moved while the blower is running and moving. I did get some icing and one time in the wet snow the chute got clogged. After than I just get some spray WD-40 and spray the inside of the chute and auger mechanism….that way the snow won't stick (trick I read on line about). The Auger does get the snow all the way down to the pavement…something my old paddle type didn't achieve constently. I did note that when going through icy snow it does tend to toss some of the ice back out from the auger in to the front of the machine and not all through the chute….not a big deal though. The only place where it struggles is out in the street after a bunch of cars have gone by and packed the snow and ice firmly. Since it is relatively light I will do a couple of passes..take the top layer off and than go back for the lower level. But my old paddle blower was useless in the same conditions.The plastic scrapper and 2 small rubber paddle blocs seem to be the only parts that will need relacement and are available as sacrificial parts….but thus far they show no alarming wear. One thing you need to be aware of is sidewalk and driveway differences between two pavement elevations. If there is about a 1/2" or so difference, the plastic scrapper will hang up on it since there aren't wheels in the front. I make a mental note of where those pavement differences are and make sure to not crash into them 😉 The only negative is the batteries which will need to be replace after a few years….and they are not cheap. Follow the maintenance guidelines in the manual (charge after use in a warm room and top them off every 3 months during the warm seasons), they should last 3-4 years at least. For me all of the advantages I pointed out above….plus no gas, oil, plugs, filters, mess, service and tune, and smell and minimal noise….or as in my old TORO dragging that extension cord around….make up for that added cost. Only remaining issue is how durable it is…..hopefully it will last as long and minimum maintenance as my old AC corded TORO.AstroBob

So, I was done, done, done with a gas unit. During this storm, I used the Ego 7 times in 2 days. Here's my experience: The snow varied from light and fluffy to wet and heavy with heights from 3" -12" (in some areas the snow height covered the opening of the snow blower). One charge with 2 fully charged batteries lasts about 30-45 min. (The unit can run on 1 battery, but I never tested it out.) For me, the 30-45min is enough time to clear my 8-10 car driveway AND my sidewalk (and part of my neighbors') from 1 neighbor's driveway to the other neighbors driveway… this is about 250-300 feet. The batteries take about 80 min to recharge on the included dual fast charger. The unit easily handles snow heights up to 8". It does have the power to handle higher snow but it definitely works for it. Obviously the harder it works the quicker the battery life runs out. For instance the heavy snow at the end of the driveway left by the street snowplows eats up battery quicker. The unit effortlessly collapses to a small area and is relatively easy to pick up. The push start is a breeze. The chute rotation control is simple and genius! There is a lever by your right hand on the handle to control this. The chute angle control isn't as impressive… even still it's not bad. You just have to reach down to the chute itself to adjust it. The LED lights, which I didn't think I'd ever use, are bright and very useful in the dark. The variable speed control is helpful and helps extend battery life in lighter snow, but you need the high speed in heavy or high snow. The snowblower cleans snow very well and does not leave much behind which does make it sensitive to uneven surfaces but because the unit is so light it is very easy to negotiate when it 'gets stuck' at uneven surfaces. I DEFINITELY recommend the unit with the steel auger. I think this makes this unit even more powerful! Side note: my wife was very skeptical at first. She thought this was a novelty and a waste of $700. However, after seeing it in action and even using it once, she is a total believer and fully endorses this snowblower! Purchased the EGo SNT2114 about 2 weeks ago. I live in Colorado where the snow is usually dry and relatively light. But our early snow is often wetter and heavier with a slush layer at the bottom. We had one of those early snows of about 4 inches 2 days after the purchase. I rate this product at 4 stars because it did not handle the heavy slush-layer very well. It acted more as a snow plow than a snow thrower, even when making thin cuts of 50% width or less. This resulted in a lot of back and forth to punch through the built up mound in the front of the blower. Three days ago we had a more typical snow fall of about 8 inches of drier, lighter snow. Under these conditions the blower worked just fine. As some of the areas to be cleared are in tight locations, I really appreciate the blower's ability to throw snow a long distance when the outflow chute is in the most upright position. I use this blower on concrete, flat stone and composite deck surfaces. I was concerned about it scratching the composite deck surface but haven't noticed anything so far. The controls layout is very good with everything easily reached from the handle bar, except for the outflow chute angle. As for battery life, I am clearing a long single car drive way, sidewalks along two sides of the house, two pathways, and a very large deck (more square footage than the drive way). In the conditions described above I was able to clear both snow storms on a single charge. There was about 20% charge remaining. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase so far.SteveColorado

I have used this for 1 and a half seasons now. It works well enough if you keep up with the snow. Living in NE Ohio I definitely can't let the snow get up past 6 inches before I go out. But that's not my big issue. There are metal parts at the bottom of the snowblower that are supposed to glide along the cement. Those have now broken on me 3 times. After 2-3 times of using it. I would expect a part that is at the front of the snowblower would be better made to take a beating. Overall, I would pass on this. The plastic design just isn't cut out for dragging along cement for an hour.Jarred

I bought this a few weeks ago and am very satisfied with its ability and and snow clearing capabilities . I live in Winnipeg so Im sure who ever reads this and knows about Winnipeg winters will or can appreciate what kind of work this snow thrower is being put through ? I have used it twice and both times in moderate to heavy wet snow . the machine operated really well and the only reason my opinion is good and not excellent is the battery ran out of charge a little sooner then I would have expected but that isnt a big issue as that meant it was break time so went inside for a bevy and a break . The only other flaw I encountered was the battery overheated twice which it had done alot of work before that happened soover all I am very happy with its performance so far .Kenny7777

I bought the 80 volt 20 inch Snow blower back in 2015 after my gas snow blower quit on me. I was an early adopter with reservations on everything from the plastic to the power. The blade has minor nicks in it from years of use. The snowblower still works like the day I bought it. It has never failed to start. I don't smell like oil and gasoline after I am done. It has been used routinely to clear 2 car driveways. For most people the information above is all you needed to know. If you want more details please continue to read. Fresh snow is no problem. It has literally cut through snow well over the hood. Wet snow is trouble for any blower. I have had just about the same trouble I would expect from wet snow jamming the chute. I little less problem with this device because it is electric. I don't second guess sticking my hand down the chute to clear it because the device is completely off. I don't worry about it starting right back up because it is just a lever and push of the button. In the past with gas powered, you had to find the stick because it was still running. I have never been brave enough to stick my hand down a gas powered snow blower running but I have seen it. I still cringe just thinking about it. It is quiet enough to clear a driveway without waking a neighbor. The headlights let you work during hours early or late you might not otherwise. It is light enough to be thrown in the back of a pickup without getting a ramp out. Before you cheer this is the only downside of this device. It is light. There are times I feel like I have to push harder because it is so light (bottom of the driveway). The trade off is well worth it to me (I go to other neighbors/relatives houses to clear snow sometime). I have hurt my back moving gas snowblowers before. This thing is like picking up a 4 or 5 year old child. No problem! My wife loves this snowblower. She used the 1 stage gas snowblower I had before ONCE. After that, she would just go get the shovel every time. When I had a 2 stage available she would cut me "the look" and walk away. After watching me a few years she asked how I turned it on…I showed her and off she went. She actually said it was fun. I milked that for as long I could but eventually she caught on. She has commented that it is light and easy for her to maneuver. She has also commented on the fact she can get it out of the garage without me or moving vehicles if I'm not around or she doesn't want to wait for me. Logistics: There is no oil or gas so it can be folded down stored sideways or upside down for all I care. I regularly clear my 2 car drive way plus the side walk on 1 battery. I have 3 batteries (lawn mower and chain saw) so I always have a battery ready to go. Clearing strategy usually involves me starting in the middle of the driveway and throwing to either side. I work my way to the edges of the driveway. I prefer to clear fresh snow. I don't like leaving it to pile up for 2 or 3 days. Fresh snow under the 20 inches you can walk fast and cut right through. Don't let wet snow freeze into chucks and think any snowblower beyond stage 2 will cut through it. If you are looking to transition away from gas and oil in general. The 80 volt Greenworks system will allow it with no compromises. If you are just looking for a stage 1 snowblower that can replace most gas stage 1 snowblowers this will fit the bill.Overtimepays

It does not let me update a previous review so I will write a new one. I got this model after returning another one with the metal auger because it was impossible for me to push it. This one I can push; however, it has a strange design flaw that I have not encountered with others. It throws a huge amount of snow through the front to the point that it is leaving a huge mess with powder and pieces of ice everywhere and you will end up covered in snow. When clearing the snow left by street, I am actually throwing pieces of ice to the cars parked across the street. Now, I have to figure out a way clear the driveway making sure I'm not pointing towards the front of the house or to the cars across the street. I contacted costumer service and they basically blew me off. Some R'Ceino guy sent a generic message about the machine being "so powerful" and closed the case with any change for me to ask more questions. I was hoping for some advice and was willing to change, upgrade to another one that does not do that but now, I will certainly try to get rid of it and switch to another brand.camz1

There is a lot to like about this snow blower. It is lightweight. It throws dry snow a very long distance and does an above average job with wet snow. The two batteries that came with the blower are sufficient to do my 85' double driveway and 300' of residential sidewalk; getting down to the pavement. Battery recharge time is good at about 1/2 hour. Be warned that the blower does NOT have any type of thermal or re-settable fuse; therefore if you hit some snowplow induced packed snow/ice it can cause the unit to stop working and be dead-dead-dead. EGO customer service replaced the unit within a week. The scraper bar on the bottom works well-maybe too well- as there is no angle to it, so when it hits an uneven part of a walk or driveway it will stop you dead in your tracks. A redesign of the scrapper bar could help with this.The only other complaint is that compared to the gas snowblowers I've had, this one does not pull through the snow. You have to forcefully push it through a 3-5" snow which is a noticeable downside for older folks. Overall I like the unit and would recommend for anyone who deals with occasional under 6" snowfalls.AMSRA

I bought the SNT2102 snowblower because of the great reviews and less maintenance it had compared to a gas powered snowblower. I bought the snowblower in November and only used it twice between December and January. By the 2nd time I used it, the snowblower would stop every 8 seconds along with orange blinking lights. I looked it up online and says "the snowblower might be overwhelmed" or there is an "obstruction on the blade." So I rested the snowblower and looked underneath and there was no obstruction seen. I used the snowblower and still same problem – stops every 8 seconds with the orange blinking lights. I was very disappointed as this is a brand new snowblower and only used twice! I contacted EGO customer service and they sent me a replacement snowblower and I sent mine back to them. So far, I have used it once and it performed what it's suppose to do. So I am hoping that this replacement would last for more than 2 months. To give EGO customer service credit, they took care of the problem promptly and did not give me a hard time. Also as a disclaimer, I live in Elgin, IL and we got 2-4 in of snow in my driveway.Pnoy

So, I have been reading a lot on cordless snow blowers and been doing a lot of research. Like many of you, I wasnt sure. I have seen some good, some bad, and for the exact same unit. Did the batteries last? Did anyone regret their purchase? Is it a waste of money? Do you have to do gas? What is the deal? Well, I want to try and help with my experience so far and hopefully it helps. To start, I don't do gas. Lawn mower, leaf blower, generator, I made a decision to just not do it. I just didn't want to deal with maintenance, stabilizer, getting gas, occasional workouts, etc. I am just not good at it compared to some of my friends. Coupled with this, I was not happy with my plow guy. Nice guy, but I always had to go out after he was done for cleanup in different areas, and there was always a thin layer on the bottom of my driveway that would turn to ice. So, my goal was to get something battery operated, for a low entry price, that if it didn't work out, I could hopefully recoup some money and not kick myself down the block. This unit seem to fit the bill. So, the first snowfall came. 8" of light snow, not wet. I charged up the batteries and went to work. My driveway is about 3750 square feet, and is wider at the bottom for turnaround area. Here is where I say expectations come in. This is a battery powered, single stage snow blower. Don't expect the snow to go 20' out of the shoot. At the wide part of my driveway, I basically went up the middle, and blow the snow over to another part of the driveway I will have to hit later. It was not powerful enough to throw it all the way over. I didn't mind though. I will say, like another reviewer here, my left wheel came off. I took the hub cap off the wheel, and discovered a washer that wasn't attached properly. I secured the washer and re-attached the wheel, and it has been good. The batteries lasted about 35 minutes. Not terrible. I got through about 75% of the job. I ended up recruiting my kids and finishing manually, but plan on getting a second set of 5Ah batteries (first set are the 8Ah ones), and that should get me most, if not all the way there. For the second snow fall, the snow was wetter, and the machine showed it. It threw the snow a shorter distance, and batteries lasted 30 minutes. It wasn't as much accumulation though, so again got through 75%. So far though, I got to skip the plow guy twice and saved $120. I just want to get my investment back and will feel better, and this thing clears to the pavement, so very happy with no ice. I also enjoy just being out there (as long as not too windy and blows the snow back), so don't mind taking a bit longer. Also keep in mind this thing is NOT self propelled, so you are pushing manually. It was fine for me (6' male), but it could be an issue if a deep, heavy snow for some. Sorry for the long review, but I know I read a lot of them myself before I clicked the button. This thing is no gas thrower, it just isn't. However, if you wanted something that could clear the snow, not a fan of gas and have some time to charge batteries, I am not kicking myself down the block yet.Big Bri

I purchased this since our gas snow blower is in the shop. Our driveway is approximately 100 feet long. It struggles a bit in 6 inch heavy snow. I'm a 65 year old female and got a workout pushing it. I had to recharge the batteries to finish the drive and sidewalks. I didn't expect it to perform like a gas blower. It is light weight and batteries were charged in about 1.5 hours.216Diana

My Snow Joe 48-volt MAX iON+ snowblower arrived just in time for another Buffalo Snow storm. Being hesitant about the battery ability to handle 5+ inches of wet sloppy snow, I set out to do battle. Taking less than 3 hours to charge the high-performance batteries, I found the convenience of the pushbutton starter wonderful after the old pull-start cord on the gas snowblower…. speaking of which, no more gas spilled on my gloves, no clothes smelling like gas… I love it! The Snow Joe cleared right down to the concrete driveway, no layer of snow left behind. The 22" swipe covered a large area quickly. Snow Joe completely cleared my driveway plus the sidewalks and the batteries still had power! I found this snowblower to be a convenient size and weight for me to handle. I cannot say enough good things about Snow Joe. Just used it for the first time today and I was pleased with it’s performance. It’s lightweight but dry effective at blowing snow quite a distance. I live in Cleveland and we just had a snow storm come through yesterday so it was the perfect opportunity to try my Snow Joe. It performed beyond my expectations and was so easy to use. My Snow Joe was amazing during the first 2 snow storms this winter. The snow was dry, light and powdery. However, this week's light, fluffy snow had a heavier moisture content. Even though I was shoveling only a few inches, the snow caked up and would not blowout; just jammed up. So it was back to manual shoveling. We will have 2 more events this week. I hope Snow Joe 24V does not let me down. I may have to reduced the stars.Bertie

I purchased the Snow Joe because my husband was just diagnosed with Cancer and requires oxygen. He is so weak and can't do the normal things outside anymore, I'm 73 with a bad back and legs but now I have to not only my chores but his too. Thought the Snow Joe would at least help with the snow but my walkway consists of pavers with grass in between and my driveway is crushed stone. The Snow Joe doesn't move across either one if there were wheels on it I'm sure it would move across it with no problem. In the meantime I have to hold it up a bit to get it across the snow. Bought this last winter, used once. The battery that came with it died this past summer in a lawnmower and would not take a charge (same model batteries). Home Depot referred me to Ryobi customer assistance, which is abysmal. I did not have time to wait for 2 hrs on hold with the battery and tool ready. This winter, used the blower once, no issues, then next two times, right away, two lights would come on and flash, and machine would not power back on. This happened with freshly charged, warm batteries. Went online to review warranty but the site seems to have lost my two registered products. Very frustrated. Will not be buying Ryobi again.Twig

In late February we received 2-3 inch’s of heavy wet snow. First time using my new Snowblower. No problem clear my and my neighbors sidewalks and my driveway. And lots of power left to continue. I really like the chute control being able to move its direction very easy and quickly. Well made design. There’s plenty of power. I also have a Ryobi Electric Lawnmower, and batteries interchangeable which makes it handy. I realized also the batteries will fit my Ryobi weed eaters. That’s why I buy Ryobi. I've inadvertently become a Ryobi poster-boy. Started with a large kit of 18V tools, which then dominos whenever you need another tool. And I've been very impressed with the power and durability of this line of DIY'er tools. They aren't Dewalt or Milwaukee, but they're also a fraction of the price. But….my experience wasn't so great with the larger tools. All the things about this snow blower that people are complaining about (dies after a minute or two, battery overheats, no power, won't start), I experienced with a couple of their larger tools and was very disappointed. That really made me pause and think about if I wanted to go through the pain and inconvenience of buying/assembling/being disappointed/disassembly/box/return process. That process gets tiring FAST! But we're having a huge amount of snow up here in Canada, so I took a chance. Am I ever glad I did. The first time I used it, there was about 5 inches of snow in my driveway (30ft x 20ft plus 90 feet of pathway). That snow wasn't powder…it'd been sitting in my driveway for two days and was crusty and chunky. Not wet, but not light powder either. Plus, also two days ago, I'd gotten plowed-in. This little snow blower chewed through it all and threw it far! I was actually quite shocked. It even scraped-up the hard-packed ruts from where cars had packed it. I couldn't shovel these ruts off my driveway but this thing picked them right up. I hadn't shoveled my walkway to my shed in my back yard this winter and it's about 90 ft of about 12" of snow that's been sitting there for weeks. I didn't want to carry this through all of that to get to my shed……..so I used the snow blower to cut the path…and it did it! Yes, sometimes, I'd have to angle it up and do the path in a couple of sweeps, but the snow was literally over the top of the snow blower. It died just as I reached my shed. Runtime was about 45 minutes of hard work and this thing performed like a champ. Since then, I've used it a LOT! And only once, was it light powder. The rest was moderately heavy, chunky stuff….especially since I keep getting plowed-in. And this thing just powers through and tosses far. The only time it didn't toss far was with the light powder. It more just filled the air in the general direction. That's more the fact that the snow is too light to throw, not the snow blower. I haven't tried it in wet snow yet, so I don't know if the chute will clog often or not. I think all snow blowers will struggle more with wet snow though, so I don't think I'll be too disappointed if it doesn't handle that as well. Color me super surprised and super impressed. Now, as long as the machine keeps working, I'm a happy camper.Dave

I bought this at the right time. We had 22 inches of snow and I had no problem keeping my driveway nice and clean. The best thing with this product is the easy start and no wires required. My last snowblower was cord and I use to have my kid help me with wire management but with this product, you are ready to go with no other help.Keyser

I bought this electric cordless snow blower a month ago. Because there was little snow so far this winter in my area, I only opened box and assembled it the day before yesterday. After charged the battery, I tried to start the snow blower. When I pull up the handle, I expected to see headlight on, but it didn’t. Interestingly after I pushed start button, Motor started to run without working headlight. I returned this unit to Home Depo yesterday. Because my purchase was beyond one month, I can not easily returned it or exchanged it for another one. I wanted to thank Home Depot for allowing me to return it and purchase a new one using the credit they issued to me. I assembled and tested the new one, everything looks working including headlight. My experience is that I should assemble and test my first purchase within one month. That could make return and exchange much easier. My other observation is that pictures in user manual is very helpful for installing the chute deflector. It was only take me two or three minutes to do it after understanding manual instruction. Now I have my snow blower ready and waiting for snow to come.Barry

I had a single stage gas snowblower for about 12 years. My wife always had issues starting it when it's dead cold and I'm away on a business trip. It's also loud and heavy to handle for her. We're getting old so I was looking for something lighter, quieter and will just turn on instead of struggling to start. I looked around for a long time for a battery model and settled on this Toro mainly from reviews, the steel auger and one that is actually an auger with the throwing portion in the middle as opposed to a simple leather throwing blade (like my old gas unit). There is very little to assemble out of the box. Set up the chute and straighten the handle. That's it. It has an eco mode which cuts the power in half (just a guess), but I have a simple 2 cars driveway where I don't need to save the power. I just go full blast and the battery lasts the whole driveway plus my neighbor's. No problems throwing the snow a good distance. It tackled 5cm of wet snow without issues (I live just a tad north of Calgary, Alberta, Canada). The Toro is also amazingly quiet. My older gas unit was also throwing a lot of snow back on my pants and shoes/boots. Not the Toro. The gas blower needs time to warm up or it will stall. Not the Toro. The LED lights are really bright and help when using in the evening or very early morning. A big tip, keep the battery inside to charge. You'll get a whole lot more out of that battery if you keep it inside at room temperature rather than in the garage at -15C. I have the charger on a timer to charge 1 hour/day. The Toro is so light that I can see hanging it on the wall or lift it on a shelf during the summer to keep it out of the way. It is quite smaller than my gas blower since it only needs an electric motor instead of a gas engine. Just got a 2nd snowfall of 10cm. It bit through it like it was nothing. Did our 2 cars driveway, also did our neighbor's and was left with 50% battery at the end. No effort whatsoever through the snow and so much quieter. I can see the eco mode being useful when clearing our walkway without throwing the snow against the fence or neighbor's house. It has a shorther throw in eco mode. At full power, the battery never ran out so I'm leaving there most of the time. Another neighbor was really impressed how well it worked and how we could chat over the noise since it's so quiet compared to a gas one so he's seriously considering buying one as well.MarcP

Some pre-amble. I made the commitment to move away from gas powered tools this past year, and my snow blower was last to go about 1.5 months ago. I purchased Toro lawnmower in October with intention of also buying Toro snow blower for interchangeability of batteries. Let me say that my original plan was to buy the newly released 2-stage 26" Toro snow blower, but when I could not find them anywhere (waiting lists) due to supply chain issues everywhere, I found myself looking at other options. that's when I started looking at this single stage with 7.5a battery. Based on reviews, it seemed to be a really good machine, and more I thought about it, it is probably sufficient for my 4 car driveway (estimate 20' x 40'), and had the added advantage of small footprint and light weight for storage. Oh, let's not forget about ~$1350 less expensive too! I did not want to find myself without a blower this winter for worry that these would also sell out, so I took the plunge and ordered a couple of months before winter hit. So, back to review of the e21 Power Clear. First snow storm last night in Eastern Ontario (Dec 5th), and we got quite a few cms of snow, followed by freezing rain. So snow was high in some places, and wet, with a thinner crusty layer. Temp outside was about -2 degrees Celcius…so not cold. I started in non-eco mode and for snow that was 8" deep, it ate threw it. However, after doing about half my driveway, I checked battery level…it was down to 2 bars (fully charged when I started). So, I switched to Eco mode to do the remaining half, my about 50 sq ft of walk way and the road in front of my yard (about 6' x 10' so snow plow driver can see my curb and to minimize the pile at end of driveway). The stuff on the road was about the same height of blower opening and it had a tougher time, but still chewed threw it. Had to take Eco mode off for that though. It had no issue in eco mode, although you can tell the difference in the motor speed and as one would expect, distance snow was thrown. Still did the job though. And yes, this can throw the snow easily 25ft…almost accidently threw snow over my yard and onto my neighbours driveway. When I was done, I had one bar on my battery. What I don't know is how close the machine was to just shutting down from lack of battery power. Not sure if these batteries show red when completely spent or not, but based on claims and reviews, I suppose I expected more than that. Also, note it was not cold out, and I suspect cold temps take their toll on battery life. That said, if it was that cold, would have been light fluffy snow instead of wet crusty snow, so maybe that somewhat balances out. All this to say based on my one experience, if we were expecting a huge snow fall, ie. consistent depth of 6-7 inches or more, I would likely plan to clean the snow at least a couple of times during the storm opposed to waiting for the snow to stop, as I would do and easily manage with my previous 2-stage 11 hp gas snow blower. Keep in mind that my thinking in this regard is only based on my experience using this unit once, so take with a grain of salt. Then, I waited for the plow to come by, but by then, there wasn't enough material to justify using the blower…it was mostly water and slush from all the rain and +6 degree temp. One thing that I definitely noticed, and miss, was the shoot height adjustment at the handle. Given my situation, I am adjusting height several times during the snow blowing session, and I cannot reach the chute adjustment from behind the blower (I am 6'4"). I have to stop and go to the side to adjust it whereas on my gas blower, I could adjust it quickly with the lever on the main handle bar on the fly while blowing snow. I would pay more for this unit to have that functionality at the handlebar. Is it a deal breaker? Not likely, but time will tell. Who knows, maybe I will get annoyed enough to move to a 2-stage. So, summary of pros and cons (for me): Pros: small foot print, electric so no dino fuel required, light for storage on a shelf in my garage, seems to handle decently deep snow, even wet, and can throw it far, scrapes driveway clean so no need to follow up with shovel like I did with my big gas blower, led light is bright, although I used in the morning so was less noticeable, super light to maneuver while using it, easy to push through the snow…little effort required. Cons: 7.5a battery may not last as long as claims, wish the wheels were rubber instead of plastic, and really miss being able to adjust the shoot height. I will say that I am a little concerned about the plastic chute and possibility of cracking in very cold temps and if the impeller grabs a decent chunk of ice or rock. That's just me though, not sure if it would crack or cause any issues, but something to be said about strength of metal chute. Would I buy it again? At this point, yes. However, I won't really know for sure until I have used this at least a half a dozen times underShhh

I am a 74 year old man (BUT in excellent shape). i live in Michigan in an area that doesn't get huge amounts of snow…generally most is around 5-6". Mostly though it is in the 2-3" range. Previously i had (still working fine) a Toro 1800 whch is a plug in paddle type blower with 18" width. That was very reliable and have had it since 2005. The big issue of course is dragging the extension cord around which really slows you down. I considered a gas blower but the weight and storage was going to be a problem. The EGO has had 5 days of use this year although not a huge amount of snow. I have a double wide+ drive way, two patios, and sidewalk….about 75' long….plus I often do my two neighbors sidewalks. Taking EGOs advice I store the batteries indoors….if you keep them in a cold environment your greatly reduce their run time. I used this at the same time e neighbors used their Toro gas blowers. It seemed I was tossing snow about the same distance as theirs and since I had the auger version it got the snow down to the pavement and through some ice. In all the days I used it I was able to finish the job with out a recharge….still had two bars left on the display. I ran the speed control both at half speed and full speed to see how that used up battery charge. Didn't seem to make a huge difference. The last day it was a very wet snow with ice crusting. It got through the worst parts but the ice definitely created a challenge….not so much chewing and spitting it out…but pushing the blower through the muck as it isn't self powered. Overall it works really will but if you have snow in the feet and lots of it….you may want to get a larger machine…,perhaps a 2 stage one. Best part for me….once you remove the two batteries and fold the handle down it is pretty light and can easily fit in a small space around 2'x3'. My rear patio is about 20'x20' and the only way to get to it without dealing with all the snow on the side of the house…it taking it through the house. Since it is so light without the batteries it was no problem. A gas blower wouldn't do that. Another thing I really like is the control to rotate the chute ….easily moved while the blower is running and moving. I did get some icing and one time in the wet snow the chute got clogged. After than I just get some spray WD-40 and spray the inside of the chute and auger mechanism….that way the snow won't stick (trick I read on line about). The Auger does get the snow all the way down to the pavement…something my old paddle type didn't achieve constently. I did note that when going through icy snow it does tend to toss some of the ice back out from the auger in to the front of the machine and not all through the chute….not a big deal though. The only place where it struggles is out in the street after a bunch of cars have gone by and packed the snow and ice firmly. Since it is relatively light I will do a couple of passes..take the top layer off and than go back for the lower level. But my old paddle blower was useless in the same conditions.The plastic scrapper and 2 small rubber paddle blocs seem to be the only parts that will need relacement and are available as sacrificial parts….but thus far they show no alarming wear. One thing you need to be aware of is sidewalk and driveway differences between two pavement elevations. If there is about a 1/2" or so difference, the plastic scrapper will hang up on it since there aren't wheels in the front. I make a mental note of where those pavement differences are and make sure to not crash into them 😉 The only negative is the batteries which will need to be replace after a few years….and they are not cheap. Follow the maintenance guidelines in the manual (charge after use in a warm room and top them off every 3 months during the warm seasons), they should last 3-4 years at least. For me all of the advantages I pointed out above….plus no gas, oil, plugs, filters, mess, service and tune, and smell and minimal noise….or as in my old TORO dragging that extension cord around….make up for that added cost. Only remaining issue is how durable it is…..hopefully it will last as long and minimum maintenance as my old AC corded TORO.AstroBob

Thankfully acquired this unit right before Winter Storm Landon Feb 2022. Previously had a used 2-stage gas snowblower that I couldn't ever get to work when I needed it. So, I was done, done, done with a gas unit. During this storm, I used the Ego 7 times in 2 days. Here's my experience: The snow varied from light and fluffy to wet and heavy with heights from 3" -12" (in some areas the snow height covered the opening of the snow blower). One charge with 2 fully charged batteries lasts about 30-45 min. (The unit can run on 1 battery, but I never tested it out.) For me, the 30-45min is enough time to clear my 8-10 car driveway AND my sidewalk (and part of my neighbors') from 1 neighbor's driveway to the other neighbors driveway… this is about 250-300 feet. The batteries take about 80 min to recharge on the included dual fast charger. The unit easily handles snow heights up to 8". It does have the power to handle higher snow but it definitely works for it. Obviously the harder it works the quicker the battery life runs out. For instance the heavy snow at the end of the driveway left by the street snowplows eats up battery quicker. The unit effortlessly collapses to a small area and is relatively easy to pick up. The push start is a breeze. The chute rotation control is simple and genius! There is a lever by your right hand on the handle to control this. The chute angle control isn't as impressive… even still it's not bad. You just have to reach down to the chute itself to adjust it. The LED lights, which I didn't think I'd ever use, are bright and very useful in the dark. The variable speed control is helpful and helps extend battery life in lighter snow, but you need the high speed in heavy or high snow. The snowblower cleans snow very well and does not leave much behind which does make it sensitive to uneven surfaces but because the unit is so light it is very easy to negotiate when it 'gets stuck' at uneven surfaces. I DEFINITELY recommend the unit with the steel auger. I think this makes this unit even more powerful! Side note: my wife was very skeptical at first. She thought this was a novelty and a waste of $700. However, after seeing it in action and even using it once, she is a total believer and fully endorses this snowblower! Purchased the EGo SNT2114 about 2 weeks ago. I live in Colorado where the snow is usually dry and relatively light. But our early snow is often wetter and heavier with a slush layer at the bottom. We had one of those early snows of about 4 inches 2 days after the purchase. I rate this product at 4 stars because it did not handle the heavy slush-layer very well. It acted more as a snow plow than a snow thrower, even when making thin cuts of 50% width or less. This resulted in a lot of back and forth to punch through the built up mound in the front of the blower. Three days ago we had a more typical snow fall of about 8 inches of drier, lighter snow. Under these conditions the blower worked just fine. As some of the areas to be cleared are in tight locations, I really appreciate the blower's ability to throw snow a long distance when the outflow chute is in the most upright position. I use this blower on concrete, flat stone and composite deck surfaces. I was concerned about it scratching the composite deck surface but haven't noticed anything so far. The controls layout is very good with everything easily reached from the handle bar, except for the outflow chute angle. As for battery life, I am clearing a long single car drive way, sidewalks along two sides of the house, two pathways, and a very large deck (more square footage than the drive way). In the conditions described above I was able to clear both snow storms on a single charge. There was about 20% charge remaining. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase so far.SteveColorado

EGO says that this two-stage snow blower can handle up to an 18 car driveway on a single charge. I have a very large driveway (maybe about 15 cars) and I have used this twice on it and I would say their claim is pretty accurate, but it depends on the type and depth of snow being blown (and the outside temperature as well, which affects the battery life). Overall, I've used this twice on my house and several other homes and I love it. I'm really pleased with how easy this snow blower is to start and use. Just insert the (massive) batteries and off you go. It's very powerful – I have no problems throwing the snow up and way from the middle of my driveway to grassy areas where I want it to land. Very easy and intuitive to use and it's sturdy. It's not silent, but it is much quieter than my neighbors' gas powered snow blowers. Just a very well engineered and built machine. Pro Tip: Get the right level of battery for the area you'll need to routinely be clearing. The "amp hours" rating determines how long it can run before needing to re-charge. I got the 7.5 Ah batteries with my snow blower but they make a 10.0 Ah version as well for about $300 more. (The batteries are the expensive component of this machine – a single replacement batter can cost $400). I'm fine with the 7.5 Ah and I think most average properties would be. Also, although EGO says you can use any rating of batteries in this, my 2.5 Ah batters for my string trimmer and leaf blower only lasted about 60 seconds trying to run the snow blower. It says that 5.0 Ah are the recommended minimum and they're right about that. So if you already have the EGO lawn mower, you'll at least have a good backup set of batteries, even if they only last for a little while.anonymous

I bought this to replace my snowblower from 1992. Pros: Electric – I do want to get away from fossil fuels Light Weight compared to fuel based blowers Cons: Motor does not provide a braking force on a hill Can not lock auger action to motor control (one hand operation) Chute deflector is awkward to manage at best Batteries are expensive I can only guess that this blower was designed with a flat, straight driveway in mind. As my driveway is both sloped and contains bends, it misses the mark. It is not possible to change the chute direction with the drive and auger engaged; you must remove a hand to do so which means you either stop moving or stop the auger. To restart the auger you need to engage the start button again and depress the auger switch. If you stop on the hill the blower can not hold itself in place and will roll downhill; the wheels appear to have some kind of automatic clutch that only engages when the drive lever is depressed; let go of it, and the wheels spin forward/backward with ease. This leads to the second miss. Unlike my previous blower where if I put it in a slow speed, the blower would hold that speed going down the driveway, this blower can not and will not. Be prepared to run down a slippery driveway chasing the blower as the motor does regulate speed. Finally, consider the cost of long term ownership. I have the SNT2406. In five or so years the batteries are likely going to need to be replaced. The cost of doing so is on the order of 1/2 the cost of the blower. I know I have spent no where near that cost over the life time of my fuel powered blower from 1992; not even close.LivesOnaHill

Bought the SNT 2405 last week. Haven't used it yet. Awaiting our first significant snow here in central Wisconsin. I'll update this review after I use the product, but thought I'd provide this narrative in case others encounter the same dilemma I had during assembly. Overall assembly was a breeze, although there was a mystery item in the box — two black foam sleeves taped up in bubble wrap. (Pictures are attached.) They're not listed in the parts list. Frankly, it looked like packing material, but thought it best to call eGO customer service to check before I tossed them out. The agent confirmed that the sleeves are indeed components and not packing material, although he couldn't get a straight answer from anyone on his end where the sleeves were supposed to be installed nor had he fielded the sleeve question previously himself. He suspected they are part of the handle assembly's side rail, but the owner's manual does not depict them. After consultation with colleagues on his end and a fruitless search of assembled product pictures trying to determine where the darn things go, he was fairly certain they go on the bottom of the side rail. After some experimentation on my end, I concur that they go on the side rails. They fit like a glove when slipped over the end of each slide rail, but they don't go on the end of the side rail (below the two green knobs). There's no room for them when the handle is installed in the highest position. One of my attached pictures shows what I think to be the logical position for the two black foam sleeves — one on each side. The sleeves cannot be placed below the bottom green knob or above the top green knob. They fit perfectly over the end of the side rail and you slide it up between the two green knobs. I suspect the sleeve's purpose is to serve as a cushion that helps stop the knobs from vibrating loose during use. Hey eGO Customer Service, if I'm wrong about this, please set me straight. Stopped working after first 10 minutes of use. I charged the batteries a little and couldn't wait to use. Worked great until the batteries died so I pulled them out and fully charged them. Now it just makes a faint clicking sound upon pushing the start button. I noticed the instructions say it needs to be run a little while upon completing project or the auger will freeze. What a piece! There are numerous videos online too showing how poor this product is. I would not recommend!Mark

I ordered this snow blower as a Christmas present for my husband. we had a snow accumulation coming a few weeks later so he fully charged the batteries the night before and was all ready. He started his brand new blower and did 1 full strip of our drive the snow blower just quit! no sound. no movement, nothing! he tried everything but it would not start again. I would absolutely not recommend this product! we are in our 50s and it was to make our snow removal easier…it did not!brenda

The batteries that come with this need serious coddling. The manual says they should never be below freezing and will be damaged if below freezing for more than 60 minutes. You do know that snow only falls when it's below freezing, right? Extremely disappointed that I must now replace batteries because they couldn't design or include batteries with extreme weather protections.Angry owner

Walmart's web site didn't say anywhere that it was refurbished. It was. Had a few scuffs but noting major, no big deal. Just would have been nice to know. Well, it also means things get replaced. It came with no screws or Assembly as they call it. So, I called up Snow Joe Outlet and they're sending me a set. I couldn't wait so I went to Home Depot and bought 1/4-20 1.5 inch bolts and butterfly nuts to assemble it. Worked like a charm until the real stuff comes. I get back home and realize the battery charger keeps flashing red, meaning a temperature issue. It didn't feel hot, so I took it inside thinking it may need to get warmer. Same issue. I'll have to call the outlet again and see if they can help. As for the snow blower itself, it did work and did it's job. It's not as loud as a gas blower but has a bit of a squeal when running. The sidewalks around my house are not even, so the blade picks up a lot of dirt and hits the ground a lot. It sounds really scary but seems to be operational still. Would have given 4.5 out of 5 stars if it wasn't for the missing parts and questionable battery/charger. Snow Joe Outlet was pretty easy to work with, they sent it no questions asked.David

The first time there was not enough snow about 1.5" and it wouldn't move it. So I had to shovel by hand. The second time the snow was apparently too wet and constantly clogged the chute so I could not use it. So I had to shovel my hand. This third time should have been an ideal situation. The snow was not too fluffy and not too wet and there was enough approximately 2 in that it should have moved it easily. I was able to clear the sidewalk and bottom of my driveway when the battery died. so the battery lasted approximately 10 minutes. I then went to plug it in and it turned over and immediately stopped. I know it's getting juice because I can move the shoot electronically and it started briefly. I decided to let it set for approximately 30 minutes while I shovel again by hand. Now it will not start at all. so I could not use it two out of three times. The third time I only got to use it for 10 minutes and now it's dead. That's an awful expensive piece of trash I just purchased. Now it's too late to take it back and I'm stuck with a piece of junk that is worthless. I've already tried to deal with customer service at this company on another one of their products that was defective right from the start and I'm still waiting on a replacement part months later so I don't expect to get any help whatsoever from their customer service. The point in me purchasing this was because I didn't want to have to deal with gas and oil and purchase a larger machine or shovel by hand. it was a bonus that I hope the battery would last me through the sidewalks and bottom part of the driveway and I would only need the electric hookup for the upper part of the driveway. My prior $99 cheap little electric Toro lasted me six years. Just as an FYI, my driveway is not by any means large. I will never, ever, purchase anything from this company again. This is the second piece of equipment I purchased that was immediately defective. I have added a photo of the small amount of snow that apparently took down this $250 snowblower. I am so disgusted. Owning this snowblower has been a horribly experience. I had to send the first one I bought back for warranty repairs because it didn't have enough power on battery to move 1-2 inches of light snow. The safety lever on the replacement I received broke on first use this winter. The unit turns on as soon as the battery or power cord is connected. I contacted Snow Joe and told them about my unit's safety issue, they told me to go buy a new one because it's out of warranty. I will never buy from this company again, who wants a $300-400 snow blower that lasts one winter?Miles

Great product that feels sturdy and made with high quality materials. It isnt light but this is great because you dont have to push the blower down into the snow and it glides over snow very smoothly. It wont break through ice though. Its very easy to use. I am able to clean my approx 4-5 car driveway relatively quickly (approx 15-30min). The 1 thing i with it had was an attachment to redirect the snow so it shoots to the side and not straight ahead.StevenLev Allentown

Was skeptical of this little blower. I have a 1,000 square foot deck that is only accessible by 35 steps. I was using a gas powered 2 stage blower (120 lbs) and lugging it up and down the stairs. Being mostly plastic, I wasn’t expecting much, but I was wrong. I took on 3+ feet of Sierra Snow and it held its own. I did a “layer” (12” down from the top) at a time and was shocked at how quickly the deck was cleared. It is heavier than a shovel, not an issue if snow is less than 10-12” as it can just slide of the surface being cleared. Deeper snow requires lifting (essentially same as a big transfer shovel). Tried it on the berm from the plows and it just chopped right through. Defiantly recommend a 2nd battery for large areas. Keep an eye out where it’s blowing, as it reliably throws 20-30 feet with no issue.Tahoe

after using this for first time with a 2.5” snowfall i’ll offer following comments. i have a suburban home two car drive and sidewalks nothing big. the shovel does move snow well. it throws it a good distance, but you have no chute to direct the snow. working with the wind i was able to put snow in lawn for the most part. it does throw it back over already cleared areas if you are not careful. the narrow 12” path makes for lots of back and forth movement of the unit. it is heavier than a string trimmer and gets even heavier the longer you use it. snow builds up on the body of the unit doesn’t help. not having any wheels on back side does not help. you are sliding the bottom on the ground as you move snow. i suspect that plastic part will wear down over time. don’t know if it can be replaced or not. battery life was ok. i could get about 20 mins on each battery ( i have 2) . i charged and stored the batteries inside to keep them warm for longer use. as a test, i left one out in the garage in 20’s temps and when i tried it it only lasted less than 10 mins. overall the unit works ok but has issues. i have since ordered the 20” snow blower for better control and operation. i’ll use this for patio and around front porch area. hope this helps others.jack88

The Snow Thrower pretty much ran as I expected in our heavy wet snow. Here is what I found: It tended to bog down when pushing forward too fast. It did throw the snow a decent distance. Wheels could have been bigger. Since I pretty much had to remove snow a layer at a time, dragging it back resulted in machine sinking into snow. Battery power still has a way to go to catch up with a gas powered snow blower. Having to push the machine forward eats up a lot of ones energy especially when it takes multiple passes to clear the snow. My driveway is loose stone, I imagine Snow Thrower would work much better on concrete or other smoother surfaces. How about a switch to turn off lights?edskiis

Not a very strong machine. It couldn’t handle more than 1/2” of snow and battery only lasted 30 minutes. Shoveling went faster than using this machine. Blower chute kept moving during use so had to adjust often. It did have a good chute aim, easy to put together and not hard too use. Just wasn’t a good fit for my needs.new2thisjunk

I can’t even say enough good things about this! After setting the Greenworks snow thrower up I was able to get it right outside and put it to work! I was very impressed with how well it worked and the distance it threw the snow. It’s very lightweight and easy to push through the snow. I really like the lights that come on the snow thrower as it makes it easy to use during the evening when it’s getting dark outside. Being able to move the thrower side to side or even straight forward is a awesome feature as well! Another thing that surprised me was how long the battery stayed charged. I was outside for about an hour and it stayed running most of the time. My driveway looks great and I would defiantly purchase this again and highly recommend to anyone that gets snow and is tired of shoveling it.Cody7788

Works as well or better than gas powered equivalents so far. I thought there was an issue as it wouldn’t throw the snow very far when there was only a light dusting of snow (I also had this problem with a gas single stage I had a few years ago). I found that by reducing the auger speed it solved everything and started to throw the snow at a more appropriate rate and distance. you definitely need to match the auger speed to the snow load and it’ll work better for you. Any gas blowers I’ve seen don’t have adjustable auger speeds so this is a huge plus. I have a 45’ x 30’ pad and it clears the whole thing on a single charge at -30 degrees Celsius. Normally the batteries would have 2-3 bars left after finishing, at this cold it had only one bar left (3-4 inches of snow). So there is definitely a little bit of battery degradation in colder temps. That’s expected though. The heated grips work fantastic. Highly recommended.Andrew W42

So far, this blower has been pretty good. The snow we have had since getting it (have had it for one week now) has been pretty light, so I can’t yet speak to how it will do in wetter, heavier snow. The claim of throwing snow 45’ seems like it may be a bit of an exaggeration, but still does a good job nonetheless. Im not really noticing much auger propulsion as of yet, but that could have something to do with the type of snow we’ve had so far too. Although the blower is not meant to be used on a gravel driveway, that is what we have, and use it on, we have just had to make sure to have a good enough base to have the gravel covered because being that the housing is made of plastic, I’m sure the rocks will not be good for it if we pick up too many of them. Had our local store had a self propelled 24” machine available, I likely would have gone for that instead. The two 7.5ah batteries do quite a good job, but I might try a pair of my 10ah batteries at some point to see how much more can be done with those. I really like the dual charger, it’s great to be able to put both batteries on one charger together, rather than having to have two separate chargers (which I do already have from other products).P Starling

Waited for years for a self propelled single stage EGO to be released. Glad to get away from gas and oil and really like the EGO leaf blower bought in the spring. Figured this purchase was a slam dunk. Bought this unit a week ago and got to put it to work today. About 2-3” of lightly ice crusted powder on a “10 car” driveway including the road apron plus ~110 feet of sidewalk. Batteries fully charged and stored in the house to stay well above 41F. All concrete surfaces. Did not use handle heater or headlights. Very disappointed overall even taking into account the learning curve of using a new machine. At full “throttle”, unit struggled to throw snow 6’ much of the time even with the chute straight ahead and wide open. Threw better with a heavier intake. Auger propel feature was marginal at best, still had to push it quite a bit on the way up the mild driveway incline, better going downhill or flat. Very difficult to maneuver on asphalt public street to clear mailbox area as the rough surface kept snagging the scraper. Plows had not come through the sub yet so no extra snow there. Clogging was typical of single stage units and not a big deal. Unfortunately, batteries were fully drained before I could finish the driveway so shoveled the rest. Not really what I had planned. I had really high hopes for this model. I looked hard at the two stage model but too much machine and cost for typical snowfalls here – or maybe not. My previous single stage was a Toro Snow Commander (7hp, oil/gas mix) from about 15 years ago that I donated 7 years ago when we moved. That machine chewed through anything, even chunks of ice. To be fair, it was used on asphalt driveways and never had to replace the scraper or paddles over the years I had it. I believe this EGO model would do much better on asphalt vs concrete and better with the typical powder we get. Leading edge of scraper is already rolled over a bit but perhaps not unusual for use on concrete. And yes, you need to mind the joints in the concrete with the scraper but was expecting that so easy to work through. For a thousand dollar machine, I expected better.Chairman100
