Full of moisturizing ingredients, especially oils, this cream is fairly thick so I recommend using the tiniest amount combined with A LOT of water. It will give you super soft feeling hair. I don’t know if it really “activated” my curls, I’ve used a lot of curl creams with similar results. I like the ingredient line up though and will continue to use and purchase. One thing to note, this is a protein-free formula so balance your protein/moisture accordingly. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to change the packaging to a squeeze tube instead of this hard plastic bottle that makes it difficult to squeeze product out of. This is my go-to leave-in curl cream. It doesn't weigh down my medium-thickness 2b strands and it doesn't leave them in flyaway disarray either. It's easy to use TOO much, so build up slowly or emulsify in your hands with a little water before applying to wet or damp tresses. I get my best results from this cream when I apply it to my hair (avoiding the scalp) fresh from washing and plop it for a while. It leaves the sliiightest cast, which is easily scrunched out. The formula sometimes causes small breakouts on my neck, which is the reason why I award it four stars instead of five. If you're new to the wavy/curly world, consider giving this cream a try!Renzie
I have curly hair so i used to apply mielle's leave in but the scent was too strong to handle for me, so i got this cantu moisturizing cream. I was hesitated whether to try anything from cantu on my hair because u heard alot of negative feedback about it but everbody has different hair so maybe it didn't work for some people yet it did go well for others, so i wanted to give it a shot. The size of the bottle would last 5 – 6 months which is great, has a light pleasant coconut scent. I used it after shower, the texture is thick so i recommend to use it when your hair is wet and apply 2 to 3 pumps because it spreads well through hair. I have long, fine, curly hair that can be a bit unruly and loves to frizz out in the summer humidity. I try to wash it only two times a week so I was excited to try the curl reactivator to see if it helps revive my curls. It works great in tandem with other curl products like the curl mousse. However, if it's the sole product you are using on your hair I will say that it's not enough to combat frizz, for me at least. That being said, it definitely does what says, it revives curls, especially ones that are 2+ days old. It doesn't weigh down the hair and make it greasy. My hair feels really soft after using. Really nice lightweight product that is perfect for wave/curl touch ups. If I’m honest, this isn’t too much different in performance to a watered down hair conditioner, but I love the convenience and that they got the ratio right. I have thinning hair and I love that this product doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it oily/greasy at all. To get the most out of this product, I like to slightly dampen with water and then go in with this. Not necessary to take that added step, but it helps stretch out the product more. I got this at the store today because I am trying to embrace my wavy hair for the summer and put less heat on it. I originally went to get the lightweight curl cream and figured I would get both. I tried this today on day 2 hair and I’m pretty impressed. It reformed my curls and took the frizz away. The only reason I deducted a star is because I felt like I needed to spray my hair with water to get the full effect. I was hoping this alone would do the trick. I will still continue to use this though and maybe on day 3,4,5 I can use without water. I have hair extensions as well and it works on them too. I am about 1 year into my CGM journey, and at this point – I rarely find products that work as well as my hair's natural oils. Even though I try to avoid shampoo, when I do use it (before hot tools or after about 3-4 weeks of conditioner rinses) I need to add a bit of moisture to make up for what I've rid my curls of. I tried this product after a wash day. It is one of the only products I've tried recently that actually feels natural in my hair. It helps to define curls and rid frizz. It dries with a light cast, but just enough for my hair to clump not enough to leave a waxy/dry texture like other competing products. I rarely feel comfortable using only one product. It's either a natural look sans products, or a mix of products (leave-in, oil, cream, maybe gel and spray etc., Depending on the style). This product is a mix of both worlds; leaves my hair natural looking without being too fluffy, yet offers enough moisture and oil for clumping without being heavy. Love the shine it adds. Ouai Curl Crème saves time for me since it's a cream + oil + hydrator + styling product. Great for traveling with. Easy to refresh dry hair with or style wet hair with. The scent is so luxuriously floral yet sweet, the packaging looks elegantly simple, and the bit about the "ex" on the packaging gave me a good chuckle. Ouai Curl Crème has my curls screaming, "oui, oui!" I have natural roots, ends relaxed and dyed (damaged), mix of curl textures (2b-3c), long length. This product is clearly a creme that is not shy to define, and give your hair a subtle yet noticeable shine. IMMEDIATELY after drenching my hair in water, and applying the product, I barely had to touch my hair, and the definition was VERY apparent. Y'all, when I say, I was shook… I have never in all of my 21 years of life had a product instantly define my hair upon application. I barely had to finger comb. It for sure provides a nice element of moisture as well, and I find that the more I've used it these past couple of weeks, the softer my hair is getting. I'm not 100% sure if it's this product, or some of the other products that I've been using in my hair for the time being, but I do know that this is clearly the moisture and defining agent in the squad of hair products I've been using. This product has chia & linseed oil, babassu oil, and coconut oil in it, which are clearly carrying the product and running so that it doesn't even have to jog on it's own. Babassu oil is known as an oil that promotes high moisture retention, which seals the moisture into your hair shaft (ideal for high porosity hair types), and you know lack of moisture retaining products in your haircare routine is one of the #1 causes for breakage. Chia seeds are rich in fatty acids which work to not only penetrate your hair shaft (great for low porosity hair types), but seal in the moisture as well. Linseed oil is the same as flaxseed oil, which is high in vitamin E, and not only treats hair loss, but promotes growth. For my dry scalp peeps, flaxseed oil also can be used to prevent dandruff, and can provide relief. If you have damaged hair, or chemically processed hair, this is very ideal, since it has great moisture retaining properties, and it seals damaged cuticles. I have pretty curly hair but it's very fine and I was worried this cream would be too heavy but that is not the case at all! I use this on my hair while it's wet by section with a denman brush and my curls look incredible. if you diffuse, it creates a great mask for the curls that you can brush out after. my curls seriously last 3 days through workouts, sleep (I plop/pineapple my hair without a bonnet and they stay!) DC humidity, all of it. I had high hopes for this product because I genuinely love all the other tea tree products from Paul Mitchell. I didn't realize that one of the ingredients had apricot in it. This is my mistake, I own up to it. I should have just read the label before applying it but i was so excited, i had completely forgotten to until my scalp started getting itchy. I’m a 62 yr old woman with naturally curly hair past my waist. My hair, not extensions. I don’t blow-dry my hair or use curling implements. Every once in a long while (like 5years) I will use my ceramic flat iron just to have a different look for an occasion. But I’m a wash-and-wear woman. I live in Florida, and had not yet found a product that kept my hair from frizzing. I’ve used PM products in the past and liked them. Especially the Super Skinny Serum. So when I came across this product at a salon I decided to give it a try. It keeps my hair smooth without weighing down the curls. Once dry it can be a bit “crunchy” like a lot of leave in products. But i’ve found that gently scrunching my dry curls breaks it up, and leaves my hair soft, shiny, and curly. Unfortunately, as with other reviewers, I find small chunks of white in my hair after applying, even with pumping it into one of my palms and then vigorously rubbing my palms together to warm and emulsify the product. With as much hair as I have, combing through my wet curls and picking out the chunks is tedious. Will it keep me from using the product? Doubtful. Simply because it really makes my hair look lovely. I have 2c mid back length hair. I tried this product alone without any other products. It smelled good while applying but left no other scent once dry. I scrunched this in and allowed to air dry. Once my hair was completely dry there was no defined curls. It wasn't crunchy. It seemed to weigh my hair down. I tried using less the next time and still no results I was looking for. I love this this product! Finally something that does NOT make my hair more frizzy, crunchy, dry or greasy. I have fine to medium curly long hair, I am of Eastern European descent. I just use a very small amount like directions advised, worked it into my wet hair, scrunched it with my hands and let air dry. My hair is sooo soft, no frizz and my curls are defined. I have been searching for a natural product without chemicals that actually works. I love it! It also has a tropical fragrance that is not overwhelming and smells so good! I found this product yearssss ago when I first started the Curly Girl Method. It was very runny, white and much lighter. I ended up repurchasing it and when I opened it, it is incredibly yellow and thick and the ingredient list is completely different. I don't use it everyday to care but in general, Shea Moisture was my Go To absolutely favorite brand and I used their shampoo and conditioner for about 8 years- but I noticed it a couple of months ago stripped my hair and caused an insane amount of frizz. This is hands down the best curly hair gel on the market. I use 2-3 pumps for my whole head and scrunch it in after applying a leave in conditioner to very wet hair. It starts by drying hard but then as the day goes on, your hair looks and feels so soft and the curls are still in place. If i’m looking for a stronger hold because of a slick-back ponytail or something, I usually opt for a stronger gel like Not Your Mother’s. I branched out a year ago to try new products for my wavy hair and I stumbled on this one. I wasn’t sure at first because it’s a weird texture. Kinda like a watery gel. I wasn’t 100% sure it would help my hair. Omg. I was so wrong to be skeptical. This stuff is in my everyday hair arsenal. I scrunch this into my wet hair after a shower. Sometimes it’s all I use and it leaves my hair soft and gently defined. If I want stronger definition, I add in Marc Anthony’s curly mousse right after this and scrunch it in with a t-shirt then let air dry. Feels just like snot!! And gets the job DONE! So just so that you know, I’m a lazy 4C natural. Meaning I do bare minimum to maintain a few strands of hair on my non-chemically treated hair. I literally do not use styling products, partially out of laziness but even more so out of fear of breakage and dryness etc. I took a chance, and for the first tome in years, I tried a styling product, and this was it. It’s a gel with the exact consistency of snot. First wash your hair, condition, leave in condition or whatever, and then while your hair is still soaking wet, apply a GENEROUS amount. Finger detangle/shingle/whatever you to that usually gets a little more definition in your hair and boom. Soft not crunchy curls. Such an amazing hold without feeling like your hair is going to fall out. No flaking. Forgive me if I go into too many details about my haircare regimen, but I know the curly girls out there that need to know for this review. I use leave-in conditioner, curl cream/definer, followed by gel for my curls, then scrunch with serum once it's dry and set. I used the Pacifica Curl Definitely Defining cream as my second step product, and it worked well, better than other brands of similar price point. My hair had good definition and volume for a few days. But my real issue with it, is why does it come in such a small container. WHY?? Anyone who has curly hair knows they use a lot of product. I am always hesitant about curl creams and them being to heavy and weighing down my curls, but I absolutely love this one. I started with the smaller size in case I didn’t like it and I quickly had to get the full size because I loved it so much. I have 4a/4c hair. I've used this product twice. So, it doesn't readily absorb into my hair. I applied it by finger raking it through soaking wet hair in the shower. And this is the only product I used after thoroughly rinsing my conditioner. However, after allowing my hair to set for 2 hours I blow dried it and the product sunk into my hair without a problem. I got super defined soft coils with effortless volume which I love. My biggest issue with this product is that something in the ingredients irritates my scalp. I'm sitting here trying to focus on studying, but my scalp is itchy, and I don't have time to do my hair again right now. So I will have to return this to the store. I received this in one of my recent boxes and was excited to give it a try, mainly because I have been trying a lot of different curl remedies and find many of them to be too greasy, have too much perfume, or leaves my hair feeling sticky. I used this as suggested and sectioned my hair and applied it from root to end and let me hair air dry. My curls feel soft (not crunchy), not greasy and not sticky either. Overall, I this may be my favorite curl activator I have used to date. My curls didn’t shrink up past my shoulders and they weren’t full of greasy residue. My curls did feel heavier but not overwhelmingly heavy and they didn’t shrink as much as they usually do. I think depending on your hair type this could be too heavy for finer hair or finer curls. I have never tried a product like this. It is kind of pasty which was surprising; Activator made me think it would be watery but it was thick, similar to a gel. I followed the instructions and evenly distributed it through my detangled hair (after using the shampoo and conditioner from the same product line). My hair felt sticky at first, I was afraid it was going to look limp. I allowed my hair to air dry overnight (did not tie it up). The next morning I simply fluffed my hair with my fingers and was surprised that my curls appeared shiny, moisturized and had a wet look, but the curls were actually dry to touch. Interesting 🧐😁. The activator gives the same look that a messy wet spray activator gives without the mess. I never use activator because I don’t like my hair to be perpetually wet. But this is a product I will likely continue to use because it is mess free. The Creme of Nature Pure Honey Shrinkage Defense Curl Activator pairs well with the Creme of Nature Argon oil edge control because they both provide a similar shine. I think I’m in love 😍.
This product gives me all kinds of life honey 🍯. Never have i ever had this much curl definition without shrinkage. I am really surprised! I noticed when putting it on that it did something to make my hair lay down. I was concerned that there would be no hold and that I would wake up the next day and my hair would be smashed and messed up. To my surprise 3 days later my hair was still moisturized and defined at least in the front. I am an extremely heavy sleeper on the back of my head and having the back of my hair smashed gave me the opportunity to try the product on 2nd day hair. Needless to say it lived up to the hype. I have coarse 3C/4A/4B hair and this helps define my curls. I have to use alot in each section to get results, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that this helps keeps my hair my high-porosity hair super moisturized!!! Don’t Shrink is a CGM approved protein gel with olive oil, shea butters, and glycerin. Flax seed really helps my hair retain its curl shape, the large jar helped me explore different styling techniques to see what works best with my hair and the price helped me feel better about re-styling failed experiment days vs conserving pricy product; which let’s face it, there’s a lot of fails in the beginning for curlies lol. I tried it out with super long hair and also with a long bob reset chop and both had consistent results. I achieved really great definition with a hard hold, I still had frizz but I also know this is most likely user error since I’m always improving my routines. This is the best spray in conditioner I have found to polish damaged hair and reactivate soft curls after blow drying. It still leaves hair prone to getting a bit tangled and sticky but not nearly as bad as some other products. This product is usually used by African-Americans but I am Caucasian and find it very helpful with my long hair. I spray and scrunch on dry hair and it does the trick! I get shine, curl, and taming of split ends from it and would definitely recommend over many pricier and stickier or less effective products. This has the texture of a cream more than a gel, but still has quite a bit of hold for a thinner product. I have 3B ish hair that is very easily weighed down when wet, and this did a great job of giving enough hold without being too heavy. I also liked that I could use a lot of it (to get the benefits of a creamier texture) without getting weighed down. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the line, as this was such a nice experience! I think it would work well for a lot of different hair textures, as you can easily layer it or use less depending on your needs. I have weird hair: curly on the front but wavy on the back, thinning because of aging and quite dry. This is the first product I try from this brand and I am really enjoying it. First, I wouldn't call this product a gel. It's more of a cream gel, which should've been my first indication it wasn't going to work for me. Smell is good, product feels good. It provides a natural hold and my curls are very soft and touchable. However, I have high-porosity hair and need a product that forms a cast on my hair. This isn't it. Cantu is definitely an excellent brand. My hair suffers from frizziness, dryness and flat curls. My friend, who has excellent curls, recommended Cantu to me so I bought a bunch of products during the sale not really having my hopes high because I have been really disappointed with recommended (and not recommended) products in the past. I have had a lot of negative coments on my hair especially given my new job which requires a neat and tidy appearance (they don't mind the curls, but they do mind the frizziness and the fact that it looks like a bird's nest most of the time even though I have product in it) My main concern is that the product does it job with minimal effort and doesn't break the bank. Omg this hair masque makes my hair super Soft and moisture; it just makes my hair knots melts. It has a great scent. The texture of this hair masque is very smooth and creamy. I feel like Cantu really thought about this product and it shows. It's full of amazing ingredients including avocado oil, and honey. I had never heard of baobab oil, but from what I've read, it's full of antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids. I tried the masque on my daughter and although it may not have been enough moisture for her hair, it did seem to hydrate it and refresh her hair's shine. I received this sample size product complimentary to try from Influenster and Moroccanoil for my honest review and opinion. I really liked the smell of this cream. My hair is kinda weird it’s curly underneath but on top it’s more wavy and frizzy. The parts where my hair is naturally more curly curled super pretty and looked great but the wavier pieces it didn’t change much. It felt a little heavy also but I may have just used to much product. I feel i would need to use it a few more times to give a more accurate review but right now I’d say it’s an average curl defining cream. I also let my hair air dry and I’m curious how it would look if I used a diffuser. I think I’ll end up buying a full size and give it a try. My daughter also has curlier hair than I do and I feel it may be better with her texture and curl. Overall I liked it and would recommend it for anyone with curlier hair.Meliss86
I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. She has super curly ringlets and used it after a shower and her curls looked so good. They were bouncy and frizzless. Received this as a free sample from Influenster. The sample size was a bit too small for me to get a full idea of how this product works for my hair specifically as I usually need a few weeks of use to make a fair judgement, but from a limited perspective, my takeaways are as follows: Smell- amazing, the standard MoroccanOil smell Texture- I prefer styling creams and used this in place of my current one and I did notice that this left a bit of a shell to my hair after use. If I had enough to try again, I may use a bit less product next time, though I didn’t use much. Seems pretty concentrated. If I had received a full bottle, I do think I’d continue to use it until it ran out but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this item. Everyone’s hair is different and mine reacted sort of “meh.” Not bad but not impressive either. I think fans of the line will not regret the purchase, however I didn’t find that I had any urge to switch from my current styling cream (although this one smells so much better)roxanneh

Received the Aussie Miracle Curls 2nd day curl activator the other day. I like that it is made with coconut and jojoba oil and is paraben and sulfate free. I like that you can just spray it on dry hair to revive the curls and keep them frizz free while it holds your curls in place. It did spray easily but I wish it was more of a finer mist instead of a glob of spray. I also felt the fragrance was too strong and overpowering, even a few hours later it was too strong and gave me a headache. It did help revive my curls and make them bouncy but I could not get past the strong scent. I think this would be a wonderful product if they toned the fragrance down a lot.bed159

This product smells AMAZING like all aussie products! My teenagers curly hair stayed curly all day with this stuff! Usually their hair will frizz by end of day, but with the AU 2nd Day Curl Activator 12 8.5 oz, their long curls looked great and curls were still "poppin' "! It really does work! I used this Aussie Miracle Curls 2nd Day Curl Activator on my dry hair. I like its sweet and sour scent. I have thick strands but thinning hair overall. My hair is also frizzy, flat and unruly. After using this spray, I noticed my hair to form nice curls, they were less frizzy and were tamed. This salon quality curl activator contains coconut and jojoba oil. It is also paraben, sulfate and cruelty free. I have previously used similar products that are required to be used on wet hair. I like that this product can be used on dry hair since I find such products to be more effective on dry hair in comparison to wet hair. I still had to spray quite a lot to form full curls. It has no side effects like drying my hair so I recommend it.Naffy
