Best Curling Cream For Curly Hair (2023 Update)

I am about 1 year into my CGM journey, and at this point – I rarely find products that work as well as my hair's natural oils. Even though I try to avoid shampoo, when I do use it (before hot tools or after about 3-4 weeks of conditioner rinses) I need to add a bit of moisture to make up for what I've rid my curls of. I tried this product after a wash day. It is one of the only products I've tried recently that actually feels natural in my hair. It helps to define curls and rid frizz. It dries with a light cast, but just enough for my hair to clump not enough to leave a waxy/dry texture like other competing products. I rarely feel comfortable using only one product. It's either a natural look sans products, or a mix of products (leave-in, oil, cream, maybe gel and spray etc., Depending on the style). This product is a mix of both worlds; leaves my hair natural looking without being too fluffy, yet offers enough moisture and oil for clumping without being heavy. Love the shine it adds. Ouai Curl Crème saves time for me since it's a cream + oil + hydrator + styling product. Great for traveling with. Easy to refresh dry hair with or style wet hair with. The scent is so luxuriously floral yet sweet, the packaging looks elegantly simple, and the bit about the "ex" on the packaging gave me a good chuckle. Ouai Curl Crème has my curls screaming, "oui, oui!" I have natural roots, ends relaxed and dyed (damaged), mix of curl textures (2b-3c), long length. Great on my husband's beard, 2a hair, and my son's 2b-3a hair. My hair is high density, low porosity.Amber

This product is clearly a creme that is not shy to define, and give your hair a subtle yet noticeable shine. IMMEDIATELY after drenching my hair in water, and applying the product, I barely had to touch my hair, and the definition was VERY apparent. Y'all, when I say, I was shook… I have never in all of my 21 years of life had a product instantly define my hair upon application. I barely had to finger comb. It for sure provides a nice element of moisture as well, and I find that the more I've used it these past couple of weeks, the softer my hair is getting. I'm not 100% sure if it's this product, or some of the other products that I've been using in my hair for the time being, but I do know that this is clearly the moisture and defining agent in the squad of hair products I've been using. This product has chia & linseed oil, babassu oil, and coconut oil in it, which are clearly carrying the product and running so that it doesn't even have to jog on it's own. Babassu oil is known as an oil that promotes high moisture retention, which seals the moisture into your hair shaft (ideal for high porosity hair types), and you know lack of moisture retaining products in your haircare routine is one of the #1 causes for breakage. Chia seeds are rich in fatty acids which work to not only penetrate your hair shaft (great for low porosity hair types), but seal in the moisture as well. Linseed oil is the same as flaxseed oil, which is high in vitamin E, and not only treats hair loss, but promotes growth. For my dry scalp peeps, flaxseed oil also can be used to prevent dandruff, and can provide relief. If you have damaged hair, or chemically processed hair, this is very ideal, since it has great moisture retaining properties, and it seals damaged cuticles. I have pretty curly hair but it's very fine and I was worried this cream would be too heavy but that is not the case at all! I use this on my hair while it's wet by section with a denman brush and my curls look incredible. if you diffuse, it creates a great mask for the curls that you can brush out after. my curls seriously last 3 days through workouts, sleep (I plop/pineapple my hair without a bonnet and they stay!) DC humidity, all of it. I use it with the OUAI medium shampoo and conditoner, and it's smells great! not perfumy or overwhelming. cannot recommend this more! in my pictures the one in the green shirt is day 3 curls, the other one is day one.larklewis

I love this this product! Finally something that does NOT make my hair more frizzy, crunchy, dry or greasy. I have fine to medium curly long hair, I am of Eastern European descent. I just use a very small amount like directions advised, worked it into my wet hair, scrunched it with my hands and let air dry. My hair is sooo soft, no frizz and my curls are defined. I have been searching for a natural product without chemicals that actually works. I love it! It also has a tropical fragrance that is not overwhelming and smells so good! The cream is thick and I am going to also try it as a mask on my hair to hydrate it. Also it feels good to support this family business.Lizzie

I found this product yearssss ago when I first started the Curly Girl Method. It was very runny, white and much lighter. I ended up repurchasing it and when I opened it, it is incredibly yellow and thick and the ingredient list is completely different. I don't use it everyday to care but in general, Shea Moisture was my Go To absolutely favorite brand and I used their shampoo and conditioner for about 8 years- but I noticed it a couple of months ago stripped my hair and caused an insane amount of frizz. What a shame. I will never buy another Shea Moisture product. They used to have amazing ingredients, now they have all weird chemicals and the smells changed badly. This is my new favorite hair product. As someone with a lot of hair, but very fine hair, it’s hard to find a product that doesn’t weigh me down- this allows for my hair to have shape and volume that lasts. The best results I’ve had came from using a denman brush to curl my hair, smoothing the roots over once. This method achieved beautiful formed waves for three days after. Verb is much less expensive than other curl products I’ve tried and it out performs all of them. I would highly recommend this to anyone with loose curls or waves, especially those with fine frizz prone hair like me. For reference I use this after I wash my hair with a kevin murphy cowash. Wow, I love this! I was hesitant because I see a lot of influencers use it and I always worry that that over hype things. But it really does reduce frizz and hold curl. A little goes a very long way, so it is easy to overdo it. My hair is 2C/3A and I live in a pretty dry climate and this was the perfect balance. I will say it did seem to "weigh down" my hair a bit more than other products, however, I'll take slightly less volume to have non-frizzy and light curls. I love Verb products. This one was new to me, but I had to try it. Glad I did! My tired, frizzy, permed curls were dying quickly. I needed a pick- me- up for them and this did the trick. A little, tiny bit goes a long way – all of Verb is like this. I love that because the product lasts, which means I'm not spending a fortune on hair, but getting a good, quality product. Also, the curl lasted all day until the next shower. It's not greasy, smells nice and not like a bunch of grocery store chemicals. It actually lifts my curls and gives a bit of volume without weighing them down like some creams can do. There's movement and the styling is natural, but stays in place.GuenX

I bought a travel size of this a few months ago to see if it would be a better product for me than Advanced Climate Control Gel, which leaves a slight cast if used alone on my hair, and just bought the full size. I have used this cream mixed with gel for windy days or extra definition with good results. I have also had satisfying results using this cream alone after a leave in conditioner. It responds well to second or third day refreshment with a little water or spray conditioner on my 2C/3A natural graying hair.Louisa

My hair stylist always used this product to style my hair & I love it. I tried to use the cheap brands that claim to do the same but finally made the move to purchase quality as the other products don’t do what ouidad does. I moved to a diff State and haven’t found stylists who do what mine does. I have to wait to fly out to see her every 5/6 months and I won’t cut my hair till then. I think this Featherlight cream really helps to keep my somewhat course, frizzy hair under control. I apply it right after Leave In Moisture Lock conditioner and follow it with the Heat & Humidity Gel. My hair is soft, shiny, and healthy. The Good: I've been using this stuff for a few years now, I really enjoy the way it makes my hair feel after I use it. My hair is naturally very curly, yet it's on the finer side and also become very frizzy especially from the natural elements (rain, humidity, etc). I use this product on days when I don't feel like styling my hair but I still want my natural curls to come out looking like their fresh, nice and tamed. This product is fantastic because it does not dry down crunchy whatsoever and the gel feels very light-weight on the hair, which is great because out mousse/gel products tend to weigh down fine hair and can be easily overdone. I use this both on wet and dry hair depending on what stage of getting ready I am at during that time. I find it has the best effect on damp hair. I do not use this in my roots, I mostly apply it to the bottom 70% of my hair and if applying wet, I will also brush out my hair with it in. When applying dry I simply "scrunch" it and smooth it through my hair and it really helps bring about a lovely ooomph to my natural curls. It also helps with frizziness and instantly smooths out my hair, I've reached for this many times during humid days because it really helps my curls not frizz up in the future. I start smaller and apply more as needed. I found that I don't need a whole bunch of product to make this work well and I'd rather apply more later than apply too much all at once. The Bad: Oh boy is this formula STICKY and SLIMY. Honestly this is a very unique feeling gel during application that I have not experienced in other products and I know that I certainly cannot wait to wash it off of my hands after using it. The packaging could also be better as the formula sticks to the top of the tube and creates a dried "slime" and the cap is easily snappable due to the very thin plastic attaching it to the bottle. Really nice gel, I use it for scrunching and for refreshing my curls. I’d say it’s light hold – it does dry to a light cast but easy to scrunch out and helps with definition. Thin consistency so it’s easy to distribute and it’s great for curl glazing. Works really well with the Amika curl corps defining cream. I have thick 2c low porosity curls for reference.Carrie

Full of moisturizing ingredients, especially oils, this cream is fairly thick so I recommend using the tiniest amount combined with A LOT of water. It will give you super soft feeling hair. I don’t know if it really “activated” my curls, I’ve used a lot of curl creams with similar results. I like the ingredient line up though and will continue to use and purchase. One thing to note, this is a protein-free formula so balance your protein/moisture accordingly. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to change the packaging to a squeeze tube instead of this hard plastic bottle that makes it difficult to squeeze product out of. This is my go-to leave-in curl cream. It doesn't weigh down my medium-thickness 2b strands and it doesn't leave them in flyaway disarray either. It's easy to use TOO much, so build up slowly or emulsify in your hands with a little water before applying to wet or damp tresses. I get my best results from this cream when I apply it to my hair (avoiding the scalp) fresh from washing and plop it for a while. It leaves the sliiightest cast, which is easily scrunched out. The formula sometimes causes small breakouts on my neck, which is the reason why I award it four stars instead of five. If you're new to the wavy/curly world, consider giving this cream a try!Renzie

I have curly hair so i used to apply mielle's leave in but the scent was too strong to handle for me, so i got this cantu moisturizing cream. I was hesitated whether to try anything from cantu on my hair because u heard alot of negative feedback about it but everbody has different hair so maybe it didn't work for some people yet it did go well for others, so i wanted to give it a shot. The size of the bottle would last 5 – 6 months which is great, has a light pleasant coconut scent. I used it after shower, the texture is thick so i recommend to use it when your hair is wet and apply 2 to 3 pumps because it spreads well through hair. I was eager to try the whole Briogio curl system so went all in on buying shampoo, conditioner, this cream and the gel. After my first use, I thought I'd finally found a system that would deliver an anti-frizz, curl enhancing solution, but my enthusiasm was short lived. The most disappointing of all the products was this one, which left my hair feeling dirty and not all controlled, even though I followed the directions on how to use it – you absolutely must also use the gel to get any sort of definition, which can then leave your hair feeling dirty and crunchy until you figure out just how much gel to use. So disappointed. I just bought some John Frieda curl product at a drugstore and even it worked better than this creme at delivering soft curls, at a fraction of the price!Cary

I'm rather early in my natural curl journey and so trying a bunch of different products to see what works well for my hair. I generally really like Briogeo products, and have been using the Don't Despair, Repair suite for years since my hair is color-treated. My hair at this point is very long, mostly 3A curls with some 2C waves. This product was a total bust. I tried it along with the shampoo and conditioner (both of which I really liked), but this creme left my curls anything BUT defined – and that was with a gel on top. They were limp and lackluster with no bounce, and the style didn't last more than 2 days before I needed to rewash it. By contrast, when I used the Don't Despair, Repair (shampoo, conditioner, leave-in) with some drugstore gel (Aussie Miracle Coil), my style was still going strong enough to be worn down on day 5. The Curl Charisma creme + the gel (Zotos All About Curl high-definition creme) made my hair feel like straw and turn into a huge frizz poof. I tried the gel with a different pre-gel setup and it DEFINITELY contributed to the dry feeling and frizz, so I thought maybe I should just layer a different gel on top of this creme. I know the Aussie Miracle Coils works well for me, so that's what I used. Result is that my hair looked absolutely fantastic while it was air-drying, but six hours later, my curls are SERIOUSLY limp. If I'd just used the Aussie gel alone they'd look 10 times better. Will now have to rewash my hair in another day or so. 🙁TggerGrl

I honestly LOVE this cream. I have fine, oily and thinning hair and even though it feels thick, it doesn't go on that way. It's still light enough for my hair and I even massage it into my roots! My hair is wavy, not curly (though sometimes I get some cute curls at the front) and I find this cream helps define my waves. It also makes my hair so smooth and takes away all the frizz! I've been using it for a few months and early on, there was days I would opt to not use it because I didn't think it actually did much and I was WRONG. My hair was still wavy, but it was chaotic. It was frizzy, some places were more wavy that others, it was poofy.. It looks so much more sleek and tame when I use this. I'm super comfortable just putting this on and not blowing drying or styling because of how frizz free my hair is. How I use it: I use about a quarter size amount on WET hair. I rub together in my hands, do prayer hands throughout my hair and run my fingers through on shorter/hard to reach sections. I massage what's left into my scalp, then comb through and part, leaving it very straight and sleek (I find this works better than scrunching and leaving my waves "visible" – they definitely come to life even after being straightened out). I have shoulder length hair (again, quite fine and thin though). I've been using it daily (except those early experiments..) since February and I have about half a bottle left.ashcullen

It's coconut scent will transport you to the tropics. If you want your wavy hair curly then this is the product to go. The size is small but you only use a little. Quality over quantity. It's composed of natural ingredients and it moisturizes the hair. The hair is curly and still soft. This product was made for us latinas!!! Growing up I felt like Gel was the only thing that “tamed” my hair and made it curly. Once I transitioned to the natural hair route and began embracing my curls I searched for clean products and came across Cantu. It’s affordable, safe and bomb af!!! I used to saturate my hair with different products(leave ins, defining cremes) because it’s so thick, (3a/3b) but one day I decided to just test the curling cream on my entire head and wow… this is my holy grail product. I've been using this product for many years. I have wavy, frizzy hair but Curl Honey gives it body, & makes it much curlier. Apply to wet hair & diffuse in sections for extra body & definition. Only takes a few minutes to do. A great alternative to straightening, particularly if you live in a hot, muggy climate. Couldn't live without it.Lauren S.

After recently running out of OSIS Loopy which is a discontinued product, I was quite stressed about finding another curl definer just as good. Thankfully I tried OSIS Curl Honey. It is great for frizzy, wavy hair or curly hair. Add to wet, brushed hair, scrunch and defuse, ensuring your head is upside down whilst drying. Your hair will be transformed into bouncy waves and curls, adding plenty of body, without any crunch. A very natural look. It also works without diffusing, however will not result in as much body. I recently purchased this on amazon and I have been using it whenever I wash my hair. I love this product and I will continue to buy it as well as recommend it. I use it on towel dried hair and apply a dime size amount and run through my hair from ends working up. My hair is much smoother and softer and I haven’t experienced frizz since using it. i love this! i have fine 2a hair and bought this to define my waves and condition my dry hair at the same time. i use this on wet/damp hair as a gel and on dry hair to revive my waves and lock my style in place before braiding my hair. it doesn’t leave any crunchiness or residue and it doesn’t weigh my hair down in any way. i think this is a great versatile product that can work on any hair type, although i would be cautious if you have hair that’s prone to being over moisturized because the ingredients are very nourishing. also – i absolutely love the scent! i know all camille rose products come with heavy fragrance and while that may not be some people’s thing, it’s a huge plus for me. i love sweet gourmand fragrances and this is no exception. i anticipate this jar lasting me a very long time but i will definitely repurchase when the time comes!z

So thin curls beware that this is def a heavier product.. but ooweeee i def see a difference when using this! Less hair breakage, more conditioning & actually long lasting curl hold! I mostly do wash n gos so idk how it is for twist outs. Im actually kinda scared because it can weigh my hair down. Another con is that while it does define curls, it will kind of seal it so my thin curls will almost look stringy & see through because its almost like a gel.. if that makes sense. If you have thinner curls i feel like you get me! But i believe this is my 2nd or 3rd purchase of this but it honestly will be my last bcus of the cons. Im more looking for volumizing products that give me the hydration, anti breakage & longevity that this gives! But for thicker hair?? You guys will LOOVEEEE this! Might even be a 1 and done product for thick hair!! Im giving 4 stars because it really has great benefits! but for thinner hair you'd def have to just work with it & around it sparingly & for specific looks/desires. I have only used it once so far but I did enjoy using it in conjunction with the Camille Rose Coconut Water Leave in. I let the leave in sink into my hair and just wet it the next day before applying this cream. I think you could use it on the same day you wash but have not tried this way yet as I was looking for a more elongated style and wanted my hair to stretch out more and be more on the damp side when twisting. I would follow the directions though and use on wet or damp to wet hair than on dry hair. I was looking for something to twist my hair and keep it moisturized and more clumped together so it could maintain moisture under my protective styles and was pleased with how long the moisture lasted in my hair and how it helped to reduce frizz. I did undo the twists to see it it would have a lasting hold and I was satisfied. I would like to, down the line, do a twist out with the product for a longer period and see how long the definition would last but the moisture lasted me about 3 days before I felt the need to re moisturize it, not to be confused with washing it over again, but scrunching in a moisturizer to keep my hair from getting dry. I do think using a butter on top would further help maintain moisture like the Camille Rose Brown Butter Melt or to help further control frizz, especially if it's humid, but great moisture and hold for my 4B/4C high porosity coils that honestly need a lot of moisture to keep my coil definition and more importantly moisture in my hair. Really worth the money to me and the best twisting butter I have tried.Faith

This is hands down the best curly hair gel on the market. I use 2-3 pumps for my whole head and scrunch it in after applying a leave in conditioner to very wet hair. It starts by drying hard but then as the day goes on, your hair looks and feels so soft and the curls are still in place. If i’m looking for a stronger hold because of a slick-back ponytail or something, I usually opt for a stronger gel like Not Your Mother’s. However, I still use Uncle Funky’s Daughter every single day and it’s been excellent for my 3b hair! And CGM approved!!! Worth every penny and lasts long.Natalie

I branched out a year ago to try new products for my wavy hair and I stumbled on this one. I wasn’t sure at first because it’s a weird texture. Kinda like a watery gel. I wasn’t 100% sure it would help my hair. Omg. I was so wrong to be skeptical. This stuff is in my everyday hair arsenal. I scrunch this into my wet hair after a shower. Sometimes it’s all I use and it leaves my hair soft and gently defined. If I want stronger definition, I add in Marc Anthony’s curly mousse right after this and scrunch it in with a t-shirt then let air dry. Feels just like snot!! And gets the job DONE! So just so that you know, I’m a lazy 4C natural. Meaning I do bare minimum to maintain a few strands of hair on my non-chemically treated hair. I literally do not use styling products, partially out of laziness but even more so out of fear of breakage and dryness etc. I took a chance, and for the first tome in years, I tried a styling product, and this was it. It’s a gel with the exact consistency of snot. First wash your hair, condition, leave in condition or whatever, and then while your hair is still soaking wet, apply a GENEROUS amount. Finger detangle/shingle/whatever you to that usually gets a little more definition in your hair and boom. Soft not crunchy curls. Such an amazing hold without feeling like your hair is going to fall out. No flaking. When I tell you I’m the perfect guinea pig for stuff like this because I am truly so prone to messing stuff up..GIRL. Listen to me. I purchased this recently to soften and nourish my dry 4c hair and I was pleasantly surprised. A little goes a long way and it left my hair feeling rich, moisturised and manageable. It has a fluffy and buttery consistency. When I first got it was a bit disappointed at the size because of the price but it didnt matter.I have only been using it for 2 weeks but I can tell the difference in my hair length already. This is my new go to product and its surprising as I usually go for shea moisture product. I would recommend that you buy this on offer as it can be a bit pricey.4Chairgoals

I bought this on the basis of all the positive reviews. I am so disappointed. I know things don't work for all hair types, but given what this is made from, and all the people with 4C hair who are raving about it, it should surely have worked on my 3A/B type hair, long with two curl types. It does absolutely nothing for my hair. Nothing. I washed my hair and used this and a sister product, and the following morning my hair was as dry as anything. Dryer than if I'd just washed and conditioned. Obviously it must relate to my hair type, as others have raved about it, but I just don't see why. Will stick to Cantu in future. An unfortunate waste of nearly £30 on products that won't get used further.Lea_London

The leave-in is unfortunately rather less suitable for my hair. Have very many and thick, wavy to curly hair. It makes nice soft hair, but gives me too little hold, which leads to the fact that the curls quickly "hang out" and lose definition. Also, my hair tends to get frizz from this product. However, I think that this leave-in can work very well with a different hair structure. The scent is good as in the entire Curl Expression series, it reminds me of a hairdressing salon and is something different.Delia

A good smelling curl cream. Soft, light consistency, which is easy to apply. According to the instructions, you should wrap the curls with your fingers when applying and thus strengthen the defining. In the handling therefore rather cumbersome. The hair feels very smooth afterwards, the curls but not necessarily defined. This product also smells very pleasant.Lotti_80

I have long, fine, curly hair that can be a bit unruly and loves to frizz out in the summer humidity. I try to wash it only two times a week so I was excited to try the curl reactivator to see if it helps revive my curls. It works great in tandem with other curl products like the curl mousse. However, if it's the sole product you are using on your hair I will say that it's not enough to combat frizz, for me at least. That being said, it definitely does what says, it revives curls, especially ones that are 2+ days old. It doesn't weigh down the hair and make it greasy. My hair feels really soft after using. I really love the curl line and I'm glad I have this product in my arsenal.Kymber

Really nice lightweight product that is perfect for wave/curl touch ups. If I’m honest, this isn’t too much different in performance to a watered down hair conditioner, but I love the convenience and that they got the ratio right. I have thinning hair and I love that this product doesn’t weigh my hair down or make it oily/greasy at all. To get the most out of this product, I like to slightly dampen with water and then go in with this. Not necessary to take that added step, but it helps stretch out the product more. It has a nice light scent that doesn’t overpower any fragrance you decide to wear that day. Also a huge plus in my book!betablinx85

I got this at the store today because I am trying to embrace my wavy hair for the summer and put less heat on it. I originally went to get the lightweight curl cream and figured I would get both. I tried this today on day 2 hair and I’m pretty impressed. It reformed my curls and took the frizz away. The only reason I deducted a star is because I felt like I needed to spray my hair with water to get the full effect. I was hoping this alone would do the trick. I will still continue to use this though and maybe on day 3,4,5 I can use without water. I have hair extensions as well and it works on them too. I have fine hair and so far I don’t think it’s made my hair greasy. Good product if you’re staring to embrace your natural hair like me.ajb5146

I have very fine, high porosity (very absorbent), blonde curly hair. I don't have the best of luck with styling creams, some work and some weigh my hair down, some feel very crispy, some make my hair look instantly greasy. This stuff works! I wash and condition (sun bum regular or Pacifica pineapple curls) and then put a little of this styling cream into my wet but not sopping wet hair. Then I sleep on it and in the morning my hair is good to go. Nice natural looking and feeling curls that stay in. It detangles my hair also, which is great because the only time I dare brush my hair is right before a shower. Can't even use a pick on it, fingers only 😐Curly white girl

As someone who has stick straight hair, I love this product. A disclaimer, my hair is not capable of getting that cute scrunched look. If I want curls, heat is my only option. I shower, add the styling cream (smells amazing), air dry overnight, and then curl in the morning. This is the only product that I have used that will help my hair hold the curls in all weather and all day. I also use very minimal hairspray after curling. This truly is a magic cream for super straight hair that doesn’t hold a curl!becka

My hair is living her best life with this curl cream!! I've been Garnier-loyal for over 10 years, but after one use of this cream, I was sold. I have 3 different textures of hair: the front/sides are soft, tight spirals, the back is frizzy, tight spirals, and the underneath is soft and wavy at most. This curl cream brings out the best in all 3 textures and makes all of my hair wildly soft!! I've been a huge fan of Sun Bum for a few years now, so I was amped when I saw that they made special curly hair products! This costs about twice as much as my old curl cream, however, I use about 1/2 to 2/3 what I used to use, and my hair is 10 times as happy. Plus, I trust Sun Bum's commitment to loving the ocean, which is an important factor to consider when choosing your products. I've also been using it with shampoo/conditioners other than Sun Bum's until I finish my old stockpile, and this cream is a stand-alone master. Girl, if you have curly hair then you need this! I have a head full of natural curly, thick hair and have struggled to find something that would keep these curls under control, soft and frizz-free. Well, THIS IS IT!!!!!!! I absolutely love this product and can’t live without it! For the first time I’m frizz-free and my hair remains soft and bouncy. I have always had a crazy mane of thick Indian hair that loves to frizz out. I've used so many products trying to tame it. I love how this curl cream calms my frizz and lets my hair have the natural gentle wave it's meant to. I can wash my hair, run the product quickly through and go. I received this sample size product complimentary to try from Influenster and Moroccanoil for my honest review and opinion. I really liked the smell of this cream. My hair is kinda weird it’s curly underneath but on top it’s more wavy and frizzy. The parts where my hair is naturally more curly curled super pretty and looked great but the wavier pieces it didn’t change much. It felt a little heavy also but I may have just used to much product. I feel i would need to use it a few more times to give a more accurate review but right now I’d say it’s an average curl defining cream. I also let my hair air dry and I’m curious how it would look if I used a diffuser. I think I’ll end up buying a full size and give it a try. My daughter also has curlier hair than I do and I feel it may be better with her texture and curl. Overall I liked it and would recommend it for anyone with curlier hair.Meliss86

I LOVE this product and this whole brand. I was sent a sample of the curl defining cream and the smell won me over instantly. It just makes your hair smell so good. My husband thought it was my shampoo or conditioner, but he told me my hair smelt so good the first time I used this product. I even went and bought the perfect defense heat protector spray after they sent me this sample. I use it after I curl my hair with my straightener and it just makes my hair smell amazing, reduces any frizz left, and makes my curls bouncy. I also let my daughter use it and she loved it as well. She has super curly ringlets and used it after a shower and her curls looked so good. They were bouncy and frizzless. Received this as a free sample from Influenster. The sample size was a bit too small for me to get a full idea of how this product works for my hair specifically as I usually need a few weeks of use to make a fair judgement, but from a limited perspective, my takeaways are as follows: Smell- amazing, the standard MoroccanOil smell Texture- I prefer styling creams and used this in place of my current one and I did notice that this left a bit of a shell to my hair after use. If I had enough to try again, I may use a bit less product next time, though I didn’t use much. Seems pretty concentrated. If I had received a full bottle, I do think I’d continue to use it until it ran out but I don’t think I’ll be purchasing this item. Everyone’s hair is different and mine reacted sort of “meh.” Not bad but not impressive either. I think fans of the line will not regret the purchase, however I didn’t find that I had any urge to switch from my current styling cream (although this one smells so much better)roxanneh
