In our new house we have wood laminate flooring in the living, dining, kitchen, and halls. We did a lot of research on the best way to keep them looking their best. We found out a lot of the products claiming to be the best for this type of flooring, actually makes them cloudy and discolored looking. When that happens, you have to strip the floor, reseal it, and then the floor is never the same. I have had to remop the floors because of stickiness with a different product and discovered my floors were still dirty as the residue left was picked up on the second mop head. After seeing a T.V. commercial about Orange Glo Hardwood Floor Cleaner I purchased a bottle at my grocery store. I used it and it did not work as I had hoped. I have heart pine floors that are sealed with polyurethene and had placed a heavy antique rocker in my den with no protection for the floor (not a smart idea). Of course the rocker was used a lot and scratched the floor. I saw the commercial and thought that this cleaner would be great because they show that the product covers scratches. It didn't cover scratches, not even the minor scratches. It did however do a great job of cleaning the floor. Still it was disappointing to me that the product didn't perform as promised with regard to the scratches. The cost of the product was great, and it's easy to use. I'm giving this product a one star rating only because I specifically bought it because I wanted to take care of the scratches on the floor. and it didn't work. With all due fairness to the manufacturers product claims, it's very powerful and does exactly what they say. It loosens and removes heavy dirt build-up. What the consumer should be aware and keep in mind is that if your floors have dirty layers of wax, finishers, and old coats of polish as mine does The Deep Cleaner will remove them. I couldn't get my hardwood floors totally clean and streak free because I'd been putting floor polish on top of deep rooted dirt. Needless to say when this was "exfoliated" I had flakes all over, but underneath there was the clean, smooth original surface. I now have one small patch of clean floor and a huge DIY project ahead of me to continue and complete the process. I take total responsibility for my lack of knowledge and experience in caring for my floors and Ive learned a valuable lesson. Industrial strength cleansers should be used on otherwise cleaner floors. I would advise fellow customers who've had negative experiences and results with this product to give it another chance and to perhaps consult a professional cleaner. Good Luck!SteveW

I’ve actually been using this for years before I discovered Grove. I have a house full of antique hardwood floors, so not sealed. I use the Bona mop system for daily cleaning because it was recommended by flooring experts. But, when a deeper cleaning is needed, that product falls short. Method floor cleaner for wood has enough safe, gentle surfactants to get the floor really clean, especially if there’s a really dirty spot or some mysterious sticky spill. The almond scent is not overpowering. It’s not my favorite scent. But, it’s not objectionable. I do truly wish Method made refills since the plastic squirt bottle would be easily reusable. I’m very impressed with this product! Although I didn’t notice a smell (I don’t care about the scent part), this cleaned my old imperfect wood floors fantastically! I used to use Murphy’s wood oil cleaner but have seen a lot of negative comments about their new formula so I figured I would try this and I’m impressed! I didn’t use a lot and diluted it with water which it said not to do but I was super impressed with the shine it left behind. My floors feel clean and look shiny. When I lived in a house with almost all hardwood floors there was a lot of sweeping and mopping involved to keep them looking good. As a fan of method products and environmentally-friendly items in general I immediately bought and started using method's Almond Squirt and Mop Hardwood Floor cleaner in conjunction with their now-defunct O-Mop. Yes this squirt and mop liquid was environmentally friendly and smelled lovely. Yes it was easy enough to find at the local Target and even in some grocery stores. That being said it was good really only for a quick touch-up or spot-clean. I still had to get on my hands and knees with a cloth to remove any type of dried stain. It also didn't leave the floors with any type of long-lasting shine like Murphy's Oil Soap did. Eventually I stopped buying this method hardwood floor cleaner and returned to Murphy's Oil Soap. Our floor installer (Brazilian cherry hardwood) recommended Bona cleaning products 7 years ago. Replenishing my supplies, and upgrading to the Motion Mop, I thought I would run out and need this in addition to the supply given with the purchase of the mop, but I haven't opened it yet. This us a great little starter kit. First, you need to do your homework because there are no instructions for anything except the controller. I mounted this on my truck's fiberglass topper. You need to pay attention to the grounding locations on the panel and provide a ground wire and nut and bolt to them. Yes, you only need one, but I put in two. The cable connector diameter is 1/4", and connector diameter is 3/4", but once you put in one cable, you need more room to push through the 2nd 3/4" connector. I drilled a 1/4" hole next to the 3/4 hole to slide the cable out of the way. You will need grommets and sealant, or I used a marine through-hole connector. Sealed, of course. My truck cap is slightly curved – enough that if I had mounted the solar panel directly, it would have put a bending strain on it and possibly cracked in. I used 1/4" wood slices to make up the difference. I also bought rubber sheets (8"x 8") from Ace Hardware to place under the "feet" . The kit gives you everything you need except the 12v battery to which you connect. Please note that you connect the battery to the controller first. I use my truck in Search and Rescue support, as a radio relay. This solar panel will help greatly in not running down my battery. Surprisingly, the solarpanel was putting out 12.43v when my truck was *inside* my garage. Yes, AZ is sunny but I was surprised.tregrej

I have hardwood floors. When they were laid, the individual pieces were already finished. Bona products (which I'd used with great results on a floor that was laid ""bare"" and finished on site) did not work well. So I tired Weiman's. I recommend it highly. The Cleaner picked up dirt, but I also used the shine product with GREAT results. I recommend both products for best results. I wondered what mop to use and ended up using a Swiffer DRY mop but putting microfiber cloths onto it. Worked well. Then I washed the microfibre cloths right away.D.

Does leave a film residue that completely dulls my hardwood. It is very hard to remove that film once it's on, water doesnt do it. It is really expensive for a cleaner that does exactly what the cheap ones do. Even my Bissell floor cleaners film isn't this bad. Bad purchase, would not recommend. I rarely review products I've purchased but I've just created this account at Bed, Bath and Beyond solely to share my thoughts about this very disappointing product I purchased at one of their stores. As an initial matter, the kit I purchased contained no instructions, and my search of the manufacturer's website revealed nothing useful there either. You wouldn't think this would cause an insurmountable problem, but it sure frustrated me because I haven't been able to use the mop for more than 30 seconds at a time without the thing falling apart. At first, I thought I must have assembled it incorrectly since I was flying blind with no instructions, but I've asked three friends who are infinitely handier than I am with such things to try their hands at it with identical results. The pad piece keeps falling off the handle, which makes it next to worthless. Moreover, the cleaning solution doesn't keep things clean for very long; in fact, it seems to attract dust and other things almost before I finish dusting or mopping or whatever I'm doing between having to change the pads repeatedly on the broken mop. I created an account on Bed Bath and Beyond just to write how bad this product is. One of the worst products I've ever purchased. The mop is garbage, but the worst part is the polish. It's not a polish. It goes on like clear acrylic paint. It's impossible to apply evenly which you don't realize till after it dries. The floor is covered in streaks. Any if you try to reapply it to uneven areas, it dries to a different shine so there's no way to ever even it out. As this prodcut is garbage, my hope is that it will fade after a couple of months. Please listen to the warnings others have posted. This product will ruin your floors.TomTom

Purchased this product as an update to an original FloorMate, model # H2800, that I've had for many, many years. Have much more floor to wash now and am much older. Wanted the rotating spin-scrub brushes and the much larger wash solution tank which are an improvement over the original model. Am disappointed. The old FloorMate out-performs this newer model in the wet vacuum mode, by far, plus the newer model leaks significantly more wash solution than the older model when stationary. The tank is properly seated so that is not the problem. Thought for sure that Hoover would've gotten a handle on this issue on updated models. While the FloorMate remains a great concept, the performance of this new model is not acceptable to me. Will resort to using my original FloorMate and resign myself to filling the wash solution tank 8-10 times as opposed to 3 times but the flooring will be almost instantly dry. Will 'gift' my sister-in-law with this new model so she can wash her back porch floor with ease as she does not require the same level of almost instant dryness that I prefer.Reenie

This is my 4th floor mate, my last one the brush would not stay attached, This one I'm having a problem with the clear cover staying on. But all in all this is a good concept for cleaning and then rinsing the floor. I wash my floor and then suck up the water, then put clean water in the tank and re rinse the floor. I have 2 old doxie who pee, and this machine really helps with the clean up. I also use it on the rubber mats at my back door during the winter and rainy season. Until summer when I can take my mates outside for a go pressure washing. The company just needs to look at a better design for the brush and now the clear cover.LINDA

I bought this specifically to clean my laminate floors after a basement remodel that left a layer of Sheetrock dust is n the textured laminate. We scrubbed, mopped and everything else to try and clean the laminate, but couldn't get this layer of dirt off the floors. Bought this vac to try since we'd already tried everything else. Mixed the cleaner with a cap full of vinegar and tried an area. Couldn't believe the dirt I emptied out of the container after one pass. After this we decided to move all the furniture and do one whole room. Not only did it get all the dirt out of the distressed floors, it scrubbed the laminate back to looking new. We'll to say the least we ended up doing every room in the house because the dust had come up through all the vents. The heavy traffic areas we did twice and still were able to pull additional dirt off the floors. I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research before buying and the main reason I decided on this one was because of the rotating brushes. They scrub the floors in both directions and suck up the water when pulling it back. I live this vac and have also used on my tile floors. It does not clean the grout, but I wouldn't expect it to, but does an amazing job on the tile. I will be making another quick pass to n all the floors again just to see how much additional dirt I can get off. Great purchase, don't be scared by the other reviews. The vac will leak a little when water is in the cleaning container and you leave it in one spot, so if storing with water in the tank, our a towel under it.Doug
