I have low porosity 2B with fine strands, but a lot of hair. I typically leave this on for 30 min under a cap. Pros: made hair feel incredibly soft and manageable after rinsing out. Seemed to help with brittleness and strengthening the hair. Scent is delicious, exactly like a vanilla-mint cake batter. Cons: Not as moisturizing as I expected, still needed to add a lot of leave in after rinsing out. I would guess it’s maybe more moisturizing for high porosity. This hair care product is now one of my must have! I cut off using conditioner part of my hair care routine and decided to use on deep conditioners now that the harsh winter days are coming in. This is the first Camille Rose product that I have tried that I didn't like. All of the others so far have been amazing, but for whatever reason this deep conditioner left my 4a high porosity hair feeling drier and more like straw than before I used it. It is a very thick consistency, which I usually like. It seemed like it never fully sank into/was absorbed by my hair and after leaving it to sit for about an hour I could still see it sitting on top of my hair. It is also quite expensive so unfortunately I can't recommend this one.

This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Worst of all, several washes later, the horrible smell would not go away. Based on description, reduces frizz and flyaways which I’m not sure why any product would want to reduce frizz or flyaways. I say that because that’s the point have natural hair to be free. And, unless you’re trying to control frizz and flyaways in a protective style then yes I can see why. I am a wash and go for a year and don’t mind the frizz and flyaways. The product smells really good thought!!! Even after hair dry, the product can be smelled days after without using any of the other MO products to keep hair moisturized. Based on the 8 fl oz jar🏺I got 2 uses wash/go uses and a little left for a 3rd. I have very dense hair which (when I say dense I mean that you have find my scalp lol) means this size jar is not really enough for my hair. I did not get a tingling feeling using this product and may be that didn’t leave on the required 15-30 minutes. I still would buy this product because my hair shine and for a conditioner to give shine that’s good. Anywho that’s my opinion on MO Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner. Love this mask! Ok, so it costs slightly more than I would like to spend on a tub of hair mask but it is worth it. Have repurchased already! The texture is more watery than the average mask but this just melts into the hair. I have naturally straight thick (previously coloured) hair and this mask leaves it silky, shiny and soft. There is a slight tingling sensation on the scalp but the directions say it is to be expected and means it’s working – always good to stimulate the scalp for hair growth I guess. There is a scent but I don’t mind it. Highly recommend.

if it makes your hair feel like straw. you have protein overload, a buildup of protein on your hair. Adding this protein rich product, which works great on hair like mine that needs it, will make your hair feel dry, dull and brittle. if this happens to you, look up how to treat it but basically, cut all protein containing products from your routine and focus on clarifying and moisture for a few months and then keep it balanced. (I think the blue hydro creme one might be protein free but check first, I know its more focused on moisture and has hyaluronic acid in it.) I absolutely love this and the hydro creme. they work great for me and my wavy with ringlets, fine bleached blonde and coarse grey, high porosity, dry, damaged hair. my hair needs protein and the bond repair salve, these deep conditioners and the hold me softly balm have saved my hair, can't wait to try more products.snikic
I have a mix of 3c and 4a high porosity hair. This is the first time i used a curlsmith product, but from the first use i could tell that this is a really good deep conditioner. The scent is light and pretty and the moisture that it gave my hair was amazing. It left my hair feeling very soft which was surprising. it is thick, but it still offers some slip. I love love love this product and I have only used it once. It defines my curls and leaves my hair soft without the crunch. I have used other Styling custards and curl refiners that have left that icky feeling and hard crunch in my hair. This product smells fantastic even before you open it. It has a jellie like consistency. A little bit goes a long way. I would definitely recommend applying this on damp to slightly wet hair, not dry hair for best results. If I could add a photo I would. I have a twa- teeny weeny Afro. I would definitely recommend. This is a fantastic deep conditioner! If you don't like thick deep conditioners or hair masks, this is not the product for you. What I loved most about this product was the fact that I could apply generously, but didn't use a lot. I have type 4, dry, low porosity hair, and needed a thick mask to use occasionally when my hair feels dry. After applying the product, I let it sit in my hair for about 30-45 minutes with a plastic cap and it did its thing. My hair was left moisturized and the mask was easy to wash out. The scent of the product is light when you open the jar, but once applying it, it does increase a bit. For some reason, it had a very masculine scent to me, but it wasn't too offputting. If your hair can tolerate coconut and thick masks, this is the product for you. My only recommendation is to avoid ordering it online and try to find the product in stores because the price is nearly double the amount than it should be.Sunny

i decided to try this in conjunction with the sheamoisture low porosity line. i have thick 2b, 2c, 3a hair but not a ton of it. it's been damaged over the years from heat and coloring and probably from using the wrong products this whole time. my hair is low porosity and protein sensitive but this mask as a deep conditioner once a week has absolutely transformed my hair. it's soft both straight out the shower and air dried. it's not as tangled and way easier to comb through which has made my hair fall out a lot less. the mask is thick but has good slip and i don't feel my hair is stringy when i'm running it through my hair. i don't think i've ever felt my hair this soft before. highly recommend if you have dry, moisture resistant hairpia
I liked the texture of this and the way it applied. It was very smooth, had great slip, absorbed into my hair rather than just sitting on top and because of how well it applied, a little went a long way. I bought the 2oz bottle, not a gallon but there's no option for it. So I used the sample sachet of the unscented version and I thought it was good sulfate-free shampoo. I wanted to try a scented one so I bought the 2oz Island Fantasy and I don’t know what went wrong. I had to use way more of the shampoo this time around to even get enough to work through to my scalp. When I rinsed it out this time it felt like my hair was stripped and squeaky and my roots felt tangled. When I used the unscented sample it was soft and felt smooth in my hair when rinsing out. I followed this up with my usual go-to Dove intense moisture conditioner and my hair is not drying the same. It looks dry, feels dry, and the frizz has been real. I’ve been trying to tame it by twisting and clipping it up in a bun all day because of how bad my hair has been looking. Is there a difference between the unscented and Island Fantasy? One of the things about gels that I run into is it not being being 100% compatible with very season. Some gels are good for all year round, while some gels work their magic best in certain seasons, but this gel right here work’s it’s magic no matter the season or whatever may come up, where your hair needs strong hold and ultimate frizz protection that you can count on truly all day long. This gel is glycerin free, for those who may be interested in such. It does contain alcohol listed as its last ingredient, but alcohol is actually a component t of one of the polyquat’s used in this product. So, alcohol isn’t added separately to this product, for those that may have been wondering. It is on 7/10ths of this product. Also, you do not smell any traces of such when you smell this product at all. The fragrance free version comes completely fragrance free, and this gel has a lightweight consistency (but is not runny), it dries clear, it doesn’t flake, and it gives y hair hold fit more than one day, which for me is a miracle, because with most stylers that I use, I have to refresh my hair with more styling product ASAP every morning. Because, after I sleep on my hair, even with a satin bonnet on, my hair typically be needing some extra help in the mornings, for sure. But, the hold on this product is fantastic. I can use this product on both wet and dry hair without any problems, but I do choose to use Jessicurl’s hairspray (which is alcohol free) to give my hair a quick pick me up or to take flyaways that may pop up in between my hair wash day. They do have a curl refresher within the Jessicurl line, but it just isn’t best suited for my hair unfortunately. But, their hair spray on the other hand works so much better at reviving my hair, whenever needed. This is a very universal gel that was created for all curltypes, all hair textures, and definitely for all races. So, if you haven’t given Jessicurl a try yet, I’d highly recommend checking out all that they have to offer and what products may suit your wavy, curly, or coily hair best for sure!sybil.w
Maybe I just have the worst luck with hair products or something because it’s such a struggle to find anything that actually works. I purchased a small 2oz bottle of this deep conditioner and I don’t understand what’s deep conditioning about it. It’s super-duper thick and hard to get out of the bottle which seemed like a good thing if it was moisturizing at all. The smell was nice and light but had a hint of a weird crayon smell that the other unscented Jessicurl products have. It had no slip and I was already kind of worried that it would not be moisturizing. I left it on and put a cap on for 30 ish minutes with a towel wrapped around my head to trap heat in. I also periodically used the blow dryer to heat it up inside the towel. I rinsed it all out and then put some argan oil and OGX Moroccan oil and wrapped my hair with a Tshirt. When I was letting it air dry after that, I could tell things were going south with how crispy and frayed my ends were looking. I JUST trimmed my ends a week before as well so this shouldn’t have happened if I deep conditioned my hair. During the drying process, my hair frizzed up a lot and looked super dry and crispy. This is such a good dc. I don't know why it's not talked about more in the curly community. This is moisturizing without the weight. It has just the right amount/ combination of protein to help moisturize and spring up my waves. It has a super thick, whipped consistency that I was initially concerned about being that I have fine hair that over moisturizes and gets weighed down easily. I put this on after a clarifying wash with a couple of processing caps and it was sooo buttery and slippy when rinsing out. My hair did not lose structure or fall flat over the next few days. It also has an intoxicating scent that is not strong and dissipates quickly so no headache for anyone scent sensitive. It is literally the best I've tried.. will definitely be a staple for years to come. Please don't change anything about this! If you're on the fence about this, don't be! It us a little pricey, but it truly is such a great product! Well worth it! It's a great dc! I have 2a-c, fine strands, med porosity and density. Protein loving hair for reference.

The DevaCurl website claims that Heaven in Hair is one of the products that was just repackaged, not reformulated, during the 2021 rebrand. That cannot be true, though I can't fathom why they lied since they changed every nearly other product. There is definitely new fragrance – it smells like matrix hairspray from the 80s now, and it used to just smell clean and fresh. When I first pumped it out of the container, my nose and eyes were stinging, it's that bad. The smell doesn't dissipate either – it stayed in my strands until the next day and also did not go away when I decided to crack off the lid of the container to let it air out for a while. (The new packaging SUCKS btw. Once the lid is off, the pump doesn't work.) There is definitely more "slip" to this product than before. They must have upped the castor oil content. I used to use this primarily as a styling product, and it worked well when used sparingly and hit with some heat via diffuser. Now, I don't know what to do with it. Heat makes it stink even more and causes frizz. Tried it as conditioner, but it still stinks even after rinsing and frankly doesn't condition that well. It just kinda sits on the hair surface (that much hasn't changed). I have 3C curls, long hair, and sensitive skin. I was hopeful about this because it is one of the few products they didn't add coconut to in the rebrand. I have use on my wavy to curly hair and my daughters mixed 4b hair and let me tell you, our hair is sooo moisturized and soft to the touch. It smells good and it’s a pretty decent size bottle for the price. Don’t let the “mens”, description fool you ok! Yes yes they do say that these products are for men but that did not stop me from trying them out. My husband was so excited that we got the shampoo in the mail that he went out to the store to buy the matching conditioner to go with it to get the full effect. A few days later we actually received the matching conditioner in the mail from top box circle. So now we have to even it out & get another shampoo. I am already a huge fan of shea moisture and use their products daily! I was not able to find a scent that I loved until this new line for men came out. Even though the scent was not the best the effectiveness of these products won me over and I would use them regardless. My other half got the chance to try out this men’s deep hair conditioner recently. The consistency is a thicker conditioner. It was used after shampooing his hair. He applied enough for his length of hair and let it sit for a couple minutes. Than he rinses it out. His hair is more manageable and soft feeling. It does a good job at moisturizing the hair. This has an amazing scent of Shea butter and a hint of honey. This conditioner has no parabens, no animal testing & no mineral oil. This is made with fair trade Shea butter. When I tell you this deep conditioner made my hair feel like butter…. My hair is curly and thick, and was very dry. I had tried different hair products that helped but didn't fix the problem. I didn't have to use a lot of the product (which is usually not the case). It is very thick and creamy with a light pleasant smell. It is not cheap, $38, but I can definitely see you get more than 6 treatments out of it. That's $6 for a treatment that feels like you got it done professionally. I used this conditioner after shampooing my hair, I kept it in for a full ten minutes. This conditioner is infused with Black Castor Oil to strengthen strands, Avocado and Grape-seed Oils for ultimate moisture and Apple Cider Vinegar and Peppermint to relieve dry skin on your scalp. I tried this Quidad coil infusion triple treat conditioner 3 times in one week. I have long natural thick curly hair in which I use hair gel and hairspray every day to keep my curls in tact. I definitely needed a deep conditioning treatment to wash out all the build up. The product itself works great in that it did wonders for my hair and washed out all the build up. Also I did not need to use any detangler as my brush easily glided through my hair. The thing I can't get past is the smell. This product has a medicinal like smell. This product has absolutely changed the look of my hair! When I first purchased the product, I hoped that it would provide some TLC to my hair, which had become extremely dry and damaged as a result of the winter and keeping me away from my hairdresser. I recently went through the process of lightening my natural dark brown hair to a very light ash blonde. As a curly girl with low-porosity hair, I appreciate that it's protein-free but I don't find it extremely moisturizing. The scent, while nice, is quite strong. This conditioner is gold in a jar! I have thick, coarse, 4a/4b hair and this is the only conditioner that keeps my hair soft and manageable even after it's rinsed out and dried. I believe it's best when used under a hair steamer or heating cap, but everyone's hair is different. The elasticity that it gives my hair is unreal. I use pretty much the entire mongongo oil line and each product is a keeper, true quality. Please don't ever change the formulas because this is the only thing that works for me lol. Thanks Mielle!

I keep a minimum of 3 bottles of this on hand at all times! I have one in the shower and one bottle in each of the other bathrooms. I use it to keep my curly hair from looking frizzy. So after I get out of the shower and also on my dry hair, I will put about the size of a quarter dollap of this condtioner in my left hand, then rub my hands together and work the conditioner into every strand I can ! It really works and my hair does not feel greasy. Before using this product, I used Aussie Spray Gel. Smells great, works pretty good. But became hard to find. The OG, my first experience with deep conditioner, still one of the only drugstore conditioners I feel safe defaulting to! Whenever I'm out of town and I don't have shampoo/conditioner, this is the conditioner I always choose.I have waist-length, 2A/2B wavy hair, and I'm extremely protective of my hair, and therefore PICKY about what I use on it. I'm not scared to splurge on hair products, and I find it's usually worth it. But! This offers enough moisture without the roughness and frizz I associate with cheap drugstore hair products. I'm going to try to write this review without crying… the entire [brand:aussie] hair care line caused my hair to fall out and irritated my scalp so bad I scratched till I bled.. it got to the point where I needed my drs help because I was embarrassed, thought maybe alopecia. At first my dr. thought it was just a pregnancy symptom however when it continued after pregnancy he made me bring in my entire face,skin, body and hair routine to find out that the entire [brand:aussie] line contained an ingredient called dm dm hydantion which causes irritations and hair loss. BEWARE online the ingredient lists DO NOT SHOW this ingredient but it is on the bottle's ingredient list itself. Everything except for the hairspray was destroying my head…It smells really good thoshannon.l

My hair became curly after my daughter was born. Sometime around then, I developed crud on my scalp that literally nothing cleaned-from prescription shampoos, low poo, no poo, boars hair brushing, scalp scrubs, baking soda and vinegar-you name it, I’ve tried it. I also have hair that builds up easily compounded by (I think) the world’s hardest water, which isn’t great when you are trying to be low impact, environmentally friendly and still have decent curls. My shower/hair routine is complicated in a effort to minimize the scalp crud. I’ve been using the Guardian for conditioner and body lotion for three years, but my skin, hair, and scalp is very dry and as I progress through menopause, it wasn’t enough anymore. I purchased a bar of Curlosity and have been using it for two weeks as a co-wash and conditioner and guess what-No scalp crud! Usually by now it has shown up or never went away. It’s not great for my curl pattern and hold, but I’m still experimenting and may try using In The Buff for my ends. It’s also simplifying my shower/hair routine! Yeah, less water use! The pros of this shampoo are that it leaves a beautiful purple hue on my hair, which is about 60 percent naturally grey and 40 percent dark brown. It also leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny. The only cons are that it does leave purple stains in the shower. It is easily washable on non porous surfaces like the tile and tub, but on my shower liner it does seem to permanently stain. The other con is that it leaves some purple residue on my scalp and strands which can build up, but I counteract that by using a clarifying shampoo once or twice a week along with daily use of the Tone It Down bar. All the other Ethique bars I’ve used did not have the residue issue, so I’m not sure yet if it’s specific to the Tone It Down bar or if it possibly got damaged in transit, as I do live in a very hot climate. Either way, I’ve gotten many compliments while using this product, and one person who sees me on a bimonthly basis (patient from work) even asked if I dyed my hair! Overall, I like this product, but if you have a lot of porous surfaces in your bathroom that you don’t wish to stain, just be mindful of using this shampoo around them. 🙂Sandra
I am newly 27 and when I was younger I had long cute loose ringlets and waves, between a 2A and 2B. As I got older, my hair straightened out and occasionally would have a small body wave. For a long time, I thought my hair had flattened out to a 1B/1C because I was just older and that was what my hair was supposed to do. I was WRONG. My hair was just dry! My hair is currently about 25 inches long from my scalp so it is long. I use Curliosity as a leave-in conditioner. After I shampoo and condition my hair, I will separate my hair down the middle, run the bar twice on each part of my hair, then rub the bar between my hands and rub my hands through the crown of my head. I massage the conditioner into my hair and let it air dry. BOOM. 2A/2B hair. No more effort than that. I don't even bother with heat tools anymore because the wave of my hair is so gorgeous and luxurious. I get compliments from strangers all the time on how beautiful my hair is and my girlfriends are always asking if I am curling my hair with an iron. I wash my hair every 2-3 days as I use a very small amount as a leave-in conditioner. I have quartered the bar and given away a piece to one of my friends with 3A hair and she loves it. My boyfriend was on the fence about growing his hair longer until I gave him a piece of this bar. His hair is so soft and he has beautiful curls now and because of this bar, he is committing to growing his hair out. In short, this bar LASTS as I am still on my first purchase that I bought in October 2021. It says reconstructing but I didn’t notice less split ends in my hair or less frizz after using the whole bottle. Did it prevent more breakage, probably but not completely. I love John freida and have many of their products in my bathroom, for anyone who hasn’t tried this brand I recommend you do, it’s a great brand for controlling frizz. I have thick hair and like to use this mask one a week for hydration. It contains avocado oil to feed and nourish my hair and leaves my hair really shiny and soft. It’s a great price and lasts for ages. It’s so simple to use, I keep it in the shower and after shampooing and rinsing I apply this to my hair and concentrate on the ends then leave for five minutes. It makes my hair really easy to style and free of frizz, my hair is sleek and smooth and hydrated when iv used this. It smells great and has a creamy consistency though when it’s all rinsed out it never weights my hair down, my hair is bouncy and looks like it’s been professionally done. I can’t live without using this once a week to keep my hair in great condition and I will keep buying it

Have been using this shampoo for years but it seems to have been reformulated. The name of the shampoo ‘miraculous recovery’ is the same, but the bottle now has a golden swirl on it. I thought it was just packaging redesign but the product itself is very different. Smells totally different, and leaves hair flat and lifeless. I bought the large size as it’s the shampoo I usually use. Straight in the bin and won’t repurchase. Very annoyed as thought I was buying the usual product… really think there should be clear label to indicate new fragrance and new formulation.MrsB

I have hair down to my lower back. One pack is good for 3 uses. This mask is very creamy and smells so delicious! I leave it in my hair for at least 10 minutes and my hair couldn't be happier. Okay, so I write this in follow up of the Detox Scrub (which I highly advise you use in conjunction with this). Honestly I love this stuff! It smells sooo good but it isn’t a super overwhelming scent it just smells like bananas and I love that. It makes my hair super soft, shiny, bouncy and lightweight.
