20 Best Deep Conditioner For Hair (Jan 2023 Update)

I keep a minimum of 3 bottles of this on hand at all times! I have one in the shower and one bottle in each of the other bathrooms. I use it to keep my curly hair from looking frizzy. Olaplex hair care is turning my hair goals into success. I struggled with my hair care up until now. I saw my friend using it and I immediately wanted to try it because it made her hair look so nice and healthy. I use their shampoos and conditioners, their bonding oil, and their hair mask. They have numbers for certain hair goals and it didn't take me long to find the right one for me. On the website they have description on their products and what numbers do the best for you. This can lead you do find the type of hair care your hair needs. I'm a bright blonde so it is tricky to find the right products to keep that color. Olaplex doesn't make my color last any less. So for people who have colored hair and worry about it this is for you. Before the using this line my hair color only lasted about 3 weeks. This is such a fast fade. After using the products my hair has kept up with the color and had lasted longer than 3 weeks. I consistently use their purple shampoo once a week.Other shampoos and conditioners fade my bright blonde hair. This was so frustrating because then I would have to go back for so many more appointments then I needed. Olaplex keeps my hair bright blonde and maintains it. Although they are expensive and come in medium sized bottles I think they are still worth it. The shampoo and conditioner are 30 dollars each. This isn't so bad because you get away with using just little blobs that goes a long way. The shampoo is number 4 and the conditioner is number 5. The next product I use is the number 8 bond intense moisture mask. This mask sits in my damp hair for 10 mins. After that I go back in with my shampoo and conditioner. This makes my hair styleable and has more body. This keeps my hair shiny, smooth, and healthy. This product is also 30 dollars. I think this price might be a little much because it comes in a smaller bottle. But in the end process it is giving you what you are looking for. I usually use this hair mask once a week. I try to use it at the beginning of the week to get it prepped for the week full of styling. The next product I use is the bonding oil. This product is made for dry or wet hair. It is a heat protectant, detangler, enhances shine, and reduces frizz. For me this product met all the criteria. The bonding oil number is 7. The smell of this product is great. I mainly use this product when I get out of the shower to help detangle my hair and keep the frizz away for the morning. This keeps me waking up with my hair staying shiny. I also use it when I'm about to style my hair when it is dry. I only put it on my ends and then I continue to style my hair and apply heat. Now this product is also 30 dollars. I think this one is way overpriced because it is a super tiny container. Especially if you use it every single night. My hair before has been rough. Split ends after split ends, dry hair, and washing it constantly. My hair has always had terrible split ends and it was so hard for me to figure out why. After trying so many different products I finally feel like I found what helps me the most. Since I get my hair dyed and style it so often it does go through a lot of damage. Continuing sports as well makes it hard for me to not wash it as much so it doesn't get as dry. Bur after finding what I needed this is perfect. But overall I think the brand is perfect for people who need this type of hair care. It is also great because their line is made for every hair type, it just depends on the condition of your hair.madison

I bought this for my wife and she use this with the No.0, No.3 and the No.4 I must say the combo of these products together is amazing. Her hair was pretty much destroyed frome excessive styling, blow drying and box dyes. We could totally tell a difference after just one use of these products. Her hair looks healthier, has more shine and manageability, doesn't look as damaged, she isn't yanking out knots when she wakes up and brushes her hair plus it has so much softness and looks smooth not frizzy. It seems like the texture, strength, and even the way her hair is laying is totally changing. The smells not over powering which is something we both love because sometimes hair fragrances clash with perfumes but not Olaplex it's perfectly balanced. I’ve been having issues with thinning and breakage for a couple of years now and it really does seem like I’ve tried almost everything. I kept my expectations low but since a lot of friends have used and liked Olaplex I decided that it would be worth it to try and so far it has been. Obviously it can’t cure thinning due to stress/genetics but the texture of my hair has approved tenfold since I started using the No 0, 3,4,and5. Since my hair is quite fine and thin I use the bond building treatment and hair perfecter 1-2 times a week for the past month. Honestly I am stunned at the results. Since it’s not a permanent fix but a treatment, you do have to continue using it. I did read somewhere that there’s no way for it to permanently fix your already damaged hair but it can definitely treat it while the damage grows out. It doesn’t weigh my hair down, there’s no apparent residue, and it felt healthier and looked healthier after only the first try and has consistently improved since. I’ve tried so many products that just seem to sit on top of my hair and reflect light instead of actually improving anything texturally. I was also stunned at the quality of the product, not just in effect but a little really does go a long way in each one of my products. It smells and feels amazing. I could clearly go on. I’m just so pleasantly stunned! I had read some very negative reviews and was prepared to just take a chance and I’m thrilled and impressed with the results. I love the consistency of this conditioner but honestly not one I’d purchase all the time due to the price point. It definitely adds shine and luster to my hair but as someone with butt length hair – I have to use a decently good amount. This is, however, a product I’d purchase when I want to splurge a little and give a little extra luxury to my hair – especially with the nourishing ingredients and of course, gorgeous packaging! So I used this conditioner consistently for about a month. I must say that I am shocked how it made my hair feel. I had consistent results each time I used it. My hair felt smooth, shiny, had body to it and it never got weighed down to where I needed to do a clarifying shampoo day. I will say that this was better than my salon branded conditioners. There is no strong scent and smells very natural. Its not super thick and provides enough slippage so that your hair is detangled as your rinsing out. Once towel dried it’s so easy to comb through your hair without any knots and that was my favorite part. This is probably the best conditioner I've ever used. Not top 5 it's literally number 1. I went from using another pricey product that promised miracles from peptides in just 4 minutes that did major damage to Oribe. It's smoothed my hair back out from the tangled, mangled mess the other product left behind. I noticed with the first use that when I applied it my fingers glided right through my wet hair taking out tangles and knots ( I noticed I didn't need as much of this as I have with other conditioners). My hair was just as tangle free after rinsing. I could run a comb through my wet hair without yanking and pulling. The end product was silky soft hair with a healthy shine. I'm not ashamed to admit that it felt so nice I just kept running my fingers through it. It's also got a real lovely smell to it, hard to describe, it's a light scent but nice. It's pricey, I get it, but in the end it's not. How they have it formulated you don't need to use as much as you would other conditioners. I use less than half of what I would with others. Because of this I figure the cost balances itself out over time. I've had it for about 2 weeks , wash daily and haven't even begun to put a dent in the bottle.laura

I used to have amazing, curly/wavy hair without trying at all. Like, shampoo, and sometimes condition every few days and BAM – perfect hair. However, when I went on the pill my hair was suddenly limp and sad. No curl, no wave, no volume, nothing. I tried the curly girl method for over a year and it seemed to make matters worse. One day I gave up and chopped a bunch of my hair off and decided to give it another shot with this product. Bought this on sale at the 50% off Conditioner Sale as I've wanted to try it for awhile. I was really impressed. It is so incredibly moisturizing! I've used the Honey Miracle Mask and I like it but this one is definitely a step up in performance. I know the ingredients are similar but for some reason this one just works better for me. So, because this company appears to have high-quality products, I decided to try the treatment. It arrived quickly, and the pot was a good size. The usage instructions were very clear, simple, and helpful. And in writing large enough to read without a magnifying glass, as most people do. The scent of the product is lovely. This product has absolutely changed the look of my hair! When I first purchased the product, I hoped that it would provide some TLC to my hair, which had become extremely dry and damaged as a result of the winter and keeping me away from my hairdresser. This is the first deep conditioner I've ever used that I actually feel has produced an appreciable result. I use it exactly as directed twice a week (15-30 minutes with a shower cap on) and I can honestly say it's made my hair softer with more moisture. The DevaCurl website claims that Heaven in Hair is one of the products that was just repackaged, not reformulated, during the 2021 rebrand. That cannot be true, though I can't fathom why they lied since they changed every nearly other product. There is definitely new fragrance – it smells like matrix hairspray from the 80s now, and it used to just smell clean and fresh. When I first pumped it out of the container, my nose and eyes were stinging, it's that bad. The smell doesn't dissipate either – it stayed in my strands until the next day and also did not go away when I decided to crack off the lid of the container to let it air out for a while. (The new packaging SUCKS btw. Once the lid is off, the pump doesn't work.) There is definitely more "slip" to this product than before. They must have upped the castor oil content. I used to use this primarily as a styling product, and it worked well when used sparingly and hit with some heat via diffuser. Now, I don't know what to do with it. Heat makes it stink even more and causes frizz. Tried it as conditioner, but it still stinks even after rinsing and frankly doesn't condition that well. It just kinda sits on the hair surface (that much hasn't changed). I have 3C curls, long hair, and sensitive skin. I was hopeful about this because it is one of the few products they didn't add coconut to in the rebrand. If there is a small company out there that could buy the old Deva formulas, they would have my support and my money. Just sayin.FormerDeva

I am so glad I am not the only one who has noticed a change in the quality and value of this conditioner. I've been strictly using Humectress conditioner for 20 years, it's been the only conditioner I've found that works perfectly for my thin curly hair. The "Ultimate Moisture" formula is thin, grainy, and leaves my hair feeling dry and brittle. I'm still trying to find a replacement conditioner, but haven't found one yet. The ones I use now are still better than the Ultimate Moisture. I will NEVER use this one again, complete waste of money.ME1234

I have struggled with my hair tangling REALLY easily and because of my curl type, I can’t really brush my hair or it will frizz. So, I’ve always had to wash my hair everyday just to brush the knots out. I was out of my regular shampoo and conditioner at the store so I got this instead and I am SO GLAD I DID!!! This is a classic bait and switch tactic, use the picture of the bottle that all Nexxus Humectress lovers search for, and then send the new formula version instead. I don’t recall the warning “packing may differ” on this product when I ordered, but I now see why it is said on so many sites. Nexxus Humectress’ formula changed and since then people search high and low for the version that comes in THIS bottle. The one with the white lid is nothing like the original and sad to say I got duped by Bed Bath and Beyond. This is a subpar product being passed off as the product pictured. Pantene Miracle Rescue is a replacement for the Pantene 3 Minute Miracle, which was an excellent conditioner that sold for only four bucks. Sadly it was discontinued and replaced with this conditioner. Miracle Rescue is not quite as good as the 3 Minute Miracle, but it still works well. It starts to work as soon as you put it on and washes out well. The scent is fine, but not a favorite of mine. The big problem with it is that it gets heavy on your hair past the day mark, and can eventually make your hair feel a bit waxy. It also costs over twice the price of the 3 Minute Miracle. However, if you can get it for half off or more, then it is a good choice for a conditioner.iHerb Customer

I tried this product and received a full rebate in exchange for my honest opinion. I tried the Pantene Miracle Rescue last week thanks to Shopper Army. With the temperatures soaring, the heat really had taken a toll on my hair, so the Pantene deep conditioning treatment was a welcome change to my hair care routine. I used it three times in the last week as I loved the result the first time. I used my regular shampoo for my hair and then applied the conditioning treatment to the tips of my hair and towards the roots as directed. I gently massaged product into my hair and left it on for 2 mins and then rinsed it off with lukewarm water. I have long hair below shoulder length and it's colored as well so this product worked well even with my long hair. I usually like to use a little shampoo to wash my hair again so the product doesn't turn my hair greasy but this step was not required as the Pantene Miracle Rescue is so lightweight and leaves hair feeling silky, easy to comb and dry. I love this about the product so I thought let me try it two more times before actually giving a review worked even better the next time and left my hair looking shiny and hydrated so I am happy to recommend this product to anyone who has dry, frizzy hair which needs some care and treatment.Antonia1977

I live in a relatively humid climate and yet that still doesn't seem to be enough! When I tried the Pantene Pro V Miracle Rescue Deep Conditioning Treatment, that I was generously provided in return to provide a very honest review, I agreed. Not only do I have colour treated hair, I have to wash my hair every day for my profession and naturally really curly! I used a good amount for my first try and worked it threw my hair down to the ends. I could tell by the texture and the feel of my hair under the water after 3 plus minutes, that it already felt silky smooth, hydrated and not "scratchy, brittle etc". I've tried some deep conditioning treatments and they feel great until everything rinses right out of your hair! Not, Pantene Pro V Miracle Rescue Deep Conditioning Treatment! It maintained its "just quenched look" with no weigh down when it dried. If I were to compare this to a skin product it would be more like a mask to ultimately hydrate. The quality is outstanding. I have sensitive dry skin, also suffer from dermatographia, and my hair is a 3b/3c combination of dry ends and zigzag curls. As you can imagine finding any hair product strong enough to make my curls behave, but not agresive enough to make my scalp itch, was quite difficult until now. Due to my sensitivity, it's not uncommon for my skin to swell and itch because of a product.(which didn't happen with this product! yay!) The mild scent is really nice and natural, which I love because I don't like artificial fragrances. Every time I wash my hair my scalp feels free, if that makes any sense, as in it doesn't feel heavy with product and is able to breathe. You also don't need to use too much product in one wash since the texture is quite thick but spreads easily. After washing the hair is left soft but bouncy, it's easy to de-tangle and smells amazing. Because of my hair structure I tried multiple brands, and while some kinda worked, they required washing my hair every day since the roots would get oily cause of the product overload. With this one tho I could wash my hair once every 3 days(minimum) and that's awesome. It also moisturizes my scalp enough to get rid of the little dandruff I got from a product that irritated my skin. Overall I wholeheartedly recommend this brand !! I bought the whole line: shampoo, conditioner, mask, and curls definer. I use the mask once a week and the conditioner when not using the mask. The first picture is before I tried those product, and the second one is after the first wash. As you can see it looks soft, there's almost no brittle, it's shiny and I finally claimed my curls back! * this is not a cure for dermatographia! My condition is in remission nowadays, thank the universe. If your dermatitis is still active, I suggest consulting a dermatologist and using medically approved and proven relief products. I have been using the Shea Moisture conditioner for approximately two weeks and was provided them by #trywithtopbox as a #freeproduct for my honest review. I have fine, thin, waist length hair that is naturally blonde starting to go grey, that is prone to split ends and I would describe as normal to oily. I don't wash it daily but every 2 to 3 days it's just too much work to do daily. I used the conditioner as directed and found that my hair combed out fairly easily even while still wet which was great as it tends to tangle quite badly when I don't use a good conditioner on it. My hair was soft and shiny and manageable. The container for this feels slightly greasy when I handle it during use even after rinsing them off. The conditioner bottle uses a pump as a dispenser which is great but I couldn't get the original one that came with the bottle to function. I replaced it with one I had but I noticed that the thick conditioner dries and forms a plug that takes several pumps to force out. Overall I would say this was a good product that worked as advertised and if someone was looking to try this I would recommend it, I'm not sure if it is the best choice for me given the frequency with which I wash my hair.MargarethaM

I bought the shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and strength repairing spray last week when they were 40 percent off to try out . I usually use the olaplex line and pureology nanowork gold shampoo and conditioner with the color fanatic leave in spray I have thick curly hair with blonde highlights in my hair so my hair is dry . When i used the shampoo I couldn't believe how good and soft it made my hair , I could actually brush my hair with my brush in the showers with no problems it felt like there was conditioner in my hair when there wasn't . I just couldn't believe how good this line worked in my hair and saw a big difference from the first time using it and barely any of my hair came out from brushing it . So I want to start by saying I live in the desert and have super thin dry hair, so I was SUPER excited to try this product (I used all four products – shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave in condition together). I used all four products for this account: At first I was only going to give this a 3 because on day one of hair being washed, I feel like my hair still ends of feeling and looking really dry (especially the tips – see photos). BUT day two my hair looked/felt better, and day three my EVEN better! I showered all three days, it only used the products the first day, so you can see the progress of how my hair softened, my curls came out, AND I LOVED how my hair felt day 3/4. Normally with silicone products day 3 I HAVE to wash my hair again because the product is so heavy at my roots, whereas I LOVED how these products made my hair feel several days later. I still took off a star because of how dry my hair feels on day one. I have to suffer through one day of my hair bit feeling so great to get to better hair days, and I don’t really love that aspect. But overall I would definitely recommend to others. Perhaps slightly ticker hair wouldn’t have as much problem on day one – mine is just so very thin.rebecca.d

This was a lovely surprise to trial. I have used many deep treatments since colouring my hair and this is definitely a favourite. I love the packaging and how eco friendly it is. Another excellent part of the packaging is being able to squeeze the last few drops of of the pouch- AMAZING! No wastage! When using this I loved the added hydrating benefits of plant-based emollients, the strengthening aloe and spirulina extracts too. They did everything I wanted by leaving my hair feeling strong, soft and manageable EVERY SINGLE TIME. The price point is reasonable in my opinion as this is such a nourishing product and I love how my hair looks and feels after using it. I was super excited about this Vox Box! I have extremely dry and damaged hair from a few too many bleaches too close together to go from magenta to bright turquoise colored hair in a short period of time! The ingredients are ingredients. I'm not one who is super concerned with ingredients; I'm more of a "does it work?" kind of person. The smell of the treatment is similar to the conditioner but not as strong with floral perfume notes. The consistency is exactly what I expected it to be and was like a slightly thicker conditioner. I really liked the pouch it was in! I feel like it fit nicely in-between my other bottles. A little bit went a long way when applying. I would do my hair first so that the deep treatment would have as much time as possible. Immediately after the treatment, my hair was much softer and had fewer flyaways than on days without the treatment. The instructions are to use it once a week but I used it every 5 days or so. This is definitely a product I would recommend and will probably be buying myself for future use!kierston.b

This hair mask claims to be perfect mask for hair that suffers from dryness, damage, and dullness. My hair has been has been super dry lately and I have a ton of damage due to using heat on my hair, so I was so excited to try this. It does recommend that you use the keratase shampoo prior to use, but I do not own that so I used my current go to shampoo with it. The Mask was super easy to apply. You coat your hair from root to ends, leave on for 5 minutes, and rinse out. I I used this mask once and air dried my hair and the the other time I used I blow dried and straightened my hair. Both ways left my air so soft and shiny. The only thing I did not love about this mask was the smell. It had a very “earthy/ herbal like smell”. It wasn’t a bad smell, just not a smell a prefer for my hair. However the mask worked so well on my hair; I will be able to look past the smell. This mask also has a very steep price. It retails for $71 at Sephora. it is a big jar and you wouldn’t use everyday, so I’m assuming it will last quite a while. I would definitely give this mask a try if your hair is suffering from any of the same things as mine and if it is in your price range.Tif63081

First, this product smells amazing. It has kind of a woodsy smell to it. The smell is not overpowering when it is setting or after you wash it out. It just smells absolutely divine. Second, you do not need to use a lot to coat your hair. I used maybe 2 tablespoons and it spread very well in my hair and through my hair. I use a few different heat tools on my hair, a few days a week so my hair can be very dry. This product really did bring moisture back into my hair even after the first use. My hair was so soft and, it was just a really really good hair day! I got quite a few compliments on my hair. With other hair masks, my hair feels, almost greasy after using it. That was not the case with this. Yes, the product is, very much on the higher end; however, it truly does feel worth it; both while it is processing on the hair and after styling.KelliH729

I like to try new leave-in conditioners. Hardly ever buy any twice. I will be purchasing this again & again. Great for detangling hair. I let my hair air dry and leaves it soft, straight and smooth. No frizz at all. Does not leave hair feeling weighed down at all. For reference I have medium-dark hair that's dyed w a few blonde streaks, hair down middle of back. When you have curly hair, you get tired of always having to style it with 15 products at a time (exaggerating of course). Sometimes you just want to wash it and be done, while looking good enough to go out in public. This is my go-to for those kinds of days. It's light-weight, it keeps my hair soft and smooth, it cuts down on frizz, and it is awesome for detangling. I have been using this line of healthy sexy hair products for years. I switched to another shampoo a few years ago though after they changed their soy moisturizing shampoo to some garbage that had nothing but oils in it. They removed literally all of the cleansing agents and it left my hair so greasy. It was awful. However, I stuck with the leave-in conditioner up until a couple weeks ago. They've now changed their formula on that too. They've changed it before, but it still worked. But whatever they've put in the bottle now is just terrible. I had a suspicion something was different after noticing the bottle had changed (since that seems to be the bat signal equivalently of "we've completely ruined your favorite product"), but after one use I could tell something was off. My hair felt dry and frizzy, and my blonde looked brassy. There was no life to my hair AT ALL. I will seriously never understand why companies change their formula on perfectly good products. It seems to happen with literally everything I find that I like – I'll fall in love with it, use it for a few years, then BAM! CHANGED! Sooo aggravating. Please go back to your original soy formulas from the early 2010s. That stuff was gold. This new stuff that you've clearly cut costs on is absolutely awful.Product junkie

I love using this product it smells and feels amazing from the moment you start applying it to your hair. My once Frizzy and damaged hair started to look and feel perfect and I haven’t stopped using it since. Oh wow. I see now why this is always sold out on Ipsy points lol! I’ve had this for a while but used it once and forgot about it. I’ve been on a strict finishing my products and it’s now this guys turn… I shampoo, condition my hair, apply this on my damp hair and put a hair towel on to let the product sink in. After a few minutes I use a hair dryer and then I use a Soleil round blow drying brush. I SWEAR I feel like I went to the salon and it’s all because of this product!!!!!!! I am truly #OribeObsessed. I love many of their product lines but this masque is magical. While so many others are turning to the latest and greatest claim of the other “O” product that comes in the minimalist 3.3 oz packaging, I am sticking with Oribe! I have naturally red, loose curly hair (between a 2c/3a) and I use this mask once a week to keep my hair nourished so that my curls and waves will hold in place and not dry out. While I am sure many will look at the price and flinch, don’t let that move you. I have hair past my shoulder blades and all I need to use is less than a teaspoon of product from roots to ends. Many other products will require you to use much more product in order to get the moisture and results that Oribe provides in one small dollop. This jar of masque will last me for months, even while using once a week. The pic I posted is what my hair looks like on day 3! Yes honey, even after pulling it up at night while asleep all I have to do is unclip my hair and refresh it with a few spritzes of Oribe refresher, or even a light mist of water and boom, out the door. This is NOT just a wonderful masque to provide moisture in your locks. I have found various alternative uses not mentioned on the Oribe website for this product. I have very long, red, naturally curly hair. I use about a tablespoon amount when I am using it as a deep conditioner in the shower. However, I keep this product on my vanity and use it every day for other uses. I dab my pointer finger in the product and use it to “piece” my bangs and to smooth flyaways. It holds my bangs in place beautifully with a little hairspray after styling my bangs. I also use this as a moisturizer for my hands before putting on my rings and heading out the door. Lastly, and this was the most shocking for me to experience….. I use it around my elbows and ankles just before I spray on my self-tanner!!! Yes, you read that correctly! It helps blend smoothly around those always tricky areas. The key when using this as a moisturizer is to blend into skin thoroughly. My skin isn’t sticky as you would think it would be by using a hair conditioner as a moisturizer. I have used this as a conditioner for my long hair several times and daily for styling my hair and moisturizer for my hands and you can barely see the product has been used. In essence, a little goes a LONG way when using quality products so don’t be fooled by the price. It’s worth every penny!!! I’ve included a pic for reference of the length of my hair based on amount of product I’m using. My hair was straightened in the photo but you can see how healthy my hair looks. I really wanted to like this. I always heard such great things about Oribe as a company. I'm a curly girl , with fine coils but a ton of hair strands. I think it's important to add that I'm a white girl but most have more of an "ethnic"…hate that word but just for context…texture, other than being SLIGHTLY softer. The products that work best for me are always targeted toward coarser hair types. Also important to add, I am well educated in professional hair care and am constantly trying new products for my naturally (and also chemical induced) dry hair. In fact, most showers I use heavier conditioners or masques. This masque didn't impress me and won't be in my product rotation. I felt that it didn't seem to be moisturizing or "heavy" enough for curls like mine. Honestly, the smell was ok but that wasn't even appealing enough for me to note it as a positive. As another reference I used it more than once and kept it on longer subsequent times to see if that would make a difference in my experience. There was no difference. I feel bad about writing a negative review but I read these when I'm making purchases so I hope this helps someone. Perhaps this particular product, or brand overall, is better suited for those with just a slight texture without the need for a deeper/heavier conditioner.Brittany

This is my first time using a Pacifica hair care product. I have used a sunscreen of theirs in the past and I liked it so I thought I'd give this a shot.Pros:Smell is nice. Not a strong or overwhelming coconut scent but still noticeable.Hair looks clean. There's not a lot of sudsing with this shampoo because its more of a cleansing shampoo.My hair does not feel dry. I was excited to try this conditioner after using other Pacifica products. Unfortunately I realized this has dimethicone as the 5th ingredient. I assumed all Pacifica products didn’t use silicones. I use Pacifica makeup because they're cruelty free & vegan plus they usually work wonderfully. I was excited to see them come out with haircare so I decided to try out both the shampoo & conditioner. Unfortunately, both products really let me down. The shampoo was drying and made my hair a tangled mess. The conditioner doesn't even make up for how drying the shampoo is! I'm used to using more conditioner than shampoo but I had to use twice as much as I normally would and that's a lot given the size of the product. I wanted to give them another chance, hoping it was a fluke. Nope, did the same thing the second time. I had to buy another bottle of a different conditioner to help the dryness the shampoo caused because it was making my scalp flake. I have a pretty oily scalp so for it to cause it to dry to the point of flaking, I just had to give up on it. If they improve the formula, I'll give it another go. I gave 2 stars because it does leave your hair smelling good and for being both, cruelty free and vegan.Alexis

I received a sample of this and tried it out without even reading the ingredients. I thought the branding and packaging for Dae were so cute that I just gave it a whirl. Big mistake. Prior to using this mask, my hair was lustrous and luscious. Then, this mask set me back big time, leaving my strands DULL and SO SO DRY. I'm one application of Don't Despair, Repair to try and bring my hair back to life, and it surely was not enough to undo the damage from one application of Dae's Monsoon Moisure Mask. After water, the first ingredients are Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetyl Alcohol. That's a lot of drying alcohol. I should have known better, and yet it's kind of shocking how using this just once did me SO wrong.clairen07

I have fine, dark blond hair that I foil to brighten, and use a straightener on every few days + hair spray– so I tend towards dry. Before using the mask, my hair was a little dry. I left the mask on a little longer than the recommended ten minutes. After using, my hair feels soft and silky…but not "mushy" or "fuzzy." I'm not sure if that makes sense, but with fine hair, some products almost overdo it. My hair feels more voluminous and a little wavier (which I like very much). I should add, that I have lately learned that air drying works great when I use the Dae leave in conditioner and just a little of their hair oil! I never thought that air drying was an option for my fine semi-straight hair, but I am loving it! After using their shampoo and regular conditioner for awhile, I am happy to have had the chance to try this mask. I received the Monsoon Moisture Mask complimentary from Dae. I was intrigued by this product because of its natural ingredients like prickly pear seed oil, cactus flower extract, and cocoa seed butter, which are all known to hydrate and repair the hair without weighing it down. I have thick, dry, frizzy, and damaged hair due to humid living conditions and consistent use of heat tools. The mask has a rich consistency and a mild, earthy scent. My strands instantly feel more nourished after application, and the mask isn't difficult to rinse out nor does it leave behind any residue in the hair. The directions suggest leaving the mask on for 10 minutes, but I found that leaving it on for 15-20 minutes gave me even better results. Thanks to this mask, my hair feels softer and is more manageable so it's easier to brush through and style. There is noticeably less frizz around my part and areas framing my face. Best of all, after a few uses, my brittle, frayed ends look healthier.JoanDorothy

I recently wrote a review how disappointed I was in the shampoo not lathering up as it used to. I use the conditioner too which doesn’t seem to have changed. I recently bought this spray to detangle and I’ve got to say it’s great. I spray it in shampoo and conditioned hair whilst damp and you can brush straight through it. It doesn’t leave the hair greasy either which was a worry on fine hair. A bit pricey but as it works it is worth it. XLoz1

Smell wasn’t great, but was secondary to the fact that it honestly was more drying to my daughter’s thick 3C curls than anything. Made it frizzy, even while I was braiding her hair after washing & deep conditioning. I also used my usual concoction Jojoba for moisture & grape seed oil to seal it in. Very disappointed. I should have took Additional pictures the day after. It looked like her braids were in for 4 days, instead of next day hair which is usually the neatest. Definitely returning.RazM

Been using this leave in conditioner for over 6 months now. Its been such a game changer in my hair care routine which mainly consisted of trying to tame my curly hair. I bought this as an alternative to wash out conditioner which do not seem to do enough for dryness and manageability. My hair is in great condition and much less breakage as the added bonus which has meant my hair is better than it has been for years. Not using as much styling product either as this spray leaves a great finish to naturally dry or use via hair dryer. And on top of all that it smells so good!!! Love this product.Atina51
