I was so excited to try this shampoo, it smells great. I have naturally super thick/long hair and it did not work for my specific hair type. It’s not very sudsy at all and I need that for my hair to get it clean. I even tried to emulsify it in my hands beforehand and it still didn’t work. I re applied it too, and my hair felt greasy, dirty and itchy still. I ended up using so much of it that it’s just not worth the waste for me. So if you have a lot of hair, I don’t recommend. Maybe it works for girls with thinner hair but just a heads up for my thicker haired girls!Karigan
The only thing good about this, for me, is the smell. This is just not a good conditioner IMO. I have long, thick hair. I do not use heat of any kind, deep condition regularly, and get regular trims. All the stores around me stopped selling my HG, so I thought I'd give this a try. I knew immediately I didn't like it (hair felt drier, more coarse frizzy, *super* tangly), but I wasn't going to let it go to waste. After 2 weeks of use I've got split ends! Everywhere! I recently decided to try switching from Maui Moisture to Ouidad when I heard all the great stuff about Ouidad products. I really wish I hadn't taken the financial leap. I barely saw any difference in my hair once it was dry, and when it was wet it felt dry and straw-like. The only thing that might have been different was that I got some better frizz control, but I've been using a lot of leave-in conditioner to give my hair back some of its moisture, so that could have been controlling my frizz. For $22, I felt really bummed that I not only didn't see an improvement in my hair, but actually felt that my hair was worse. Maybe my hair just needs more than this product can provide, but it's still sad.

It's not often i find something for my curly hair that just works and i need to review to hopefully help others in their curly hair journey. I have a mixture of tight and loose curls and ringlets but my hair is prone to frizz. It doesn't matter what i put on my hair and i have tried everything, 2 days later i have a halo of frizz. This cream is amazing, definitely a holy grail for me. I use it as a curl cream (leave in) and 6 days later i still have no frizz. This is unheard of. I love the creamy texture, don't be put off by the oil in the name as it's not greasy at all. It leaves my hair soft, bouncy, defined and shiny. Yes shiny, something curly girls know is hard to achieve. I follow up with either the souffle or gel and hover over with my diffuser so as not to break the cast. Then finally use the serum to scrunch in. My hair has never looked or smelled so good. Worth every penny and i have literally paid a fortune for those sponsored curly hair brands that pop up but leave your hair feeling like straw and do nothing for your curls.Kirsty
Curlsmith gifted me a free sample of this conditioner in exchange for my honest opinion. This cream is rather rich, but you need very little product, so it doesn't weigh down the hair. I'd start with a dime-sized amount and add more as needed. I tried it on two different textures, 3C and 4C, both shoulder length. I got the best results using a nickel-sized and quarter-sized amount, respectively. It makes both curls and coils look healthy, shiny, and hydrated. It doesn't weigh hair down, and I love, most of all, that it doesn't leave hair feeling soft, not crunchy. It looks fabulous and actually feels like hair! I have to note that following the directions is crucial for my desired results, especially on coily hair. I comb it out completely before washing, and constantly rake my fingers through it while washing and conditioning to keep it detangled Once the Oil-In Cream is raked through soaking wet hair, I use the recommended praying hands method to cover the strands as best I can, but I also gently tug as I go to elongate the coils. I find this helps immensely with shrinkage. Tie it up and fluff it in the morning and it's good for 2-3 days without reapplication, unless you feel like a little additional moisture. If you wash weekly, it doesn't leave hair a sticky, greasy mess, either. Overall, while using this cream takes a few extra minutes of care, the results are well worth the effort. Also, considering the amount needed even on thick hair, this jar holds a good amount of product. This is my first experience with the Curlsmith brand, and I'm delighted that it does what it says. I have heard great things about this product on media platforms that I decided to give it a go. I purchased the smaller tub for my first purchase incase it did not agree with my hair. I have low porosity 2B with fine strands, but a lot of hair. I typically leave this on for 30 min under a cap. Pros: made hair feel incredibly soft and manageable after rinsing out. Seemed to help with brittleness and strengthening the hair. Scent is delicious, exactly like a vanilla-mint cake batter. Cons: Not as moisturizing as I expected, still needed to add a lot of leave in after rinsing out. I would guess it’s maybe more moisturizing for high porosity. This is the first Camille Rose product that I have tried that I didn't like. All of the others so far have been amazing, but for whatever reason this deep conditioner left my 4a high porosity hair feeling drier and more like straw than before I used it. It is a very thick consistency, which I usually like. It seemed like it never fully sank into/was absorbed by my hair and after leaving it to sit for about an hour I could still see it sitting on top of my hair. It is also quite expensive so unfortunately I can't recommend this one.

So I want to start by saying I live in the desert and have super thin dry hair, so I was SUPER excited to try this product (I used all four products – shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave in condition together). I used all four products for this account: At first I was only going to give this a 3 because on day one of hair being washed, I feel like my hair still ends of feeling and looking really dry (especially the tips – see photos). BUT day two my hair looked/felt better, and day three my EVEN better! I showered all three days, it only used the products the first day, so you can see the progress of how my hair softened, my curls came out, AND I LOVED how my hair felt day 3/4. Normally with silicone products day 3 I HAVE to wash my hair again because the product is so heavy at my roots, whereas I LOVED how these products made my hair feel several days later. I still took off a star because of how dry my hair feels on day one. I have to suffer through one day of my hair bit feeling so great to get to better hair days, and I don’t really love that aspect. I was super excited about this Vox Box! I have extremely dry and damaged hair from a few too many bleaches too close together to go from magenta to bright turquoise colored hair in a short period of time! The ingredients are ingredients. I'm not one who is super concerned with ingredients; I'm more of a "does it work?" kind of person. The smell of the treatment is similar to the conditioner but not as strong with floral perfume notes. The consistency is exactly what I expected it to be and was like a slightly thicker conditioner. I like this conditioner. Leaves my hair feeling very soft and smooth. I don’t have extremely curly hair but it does define my waves to make them appear more curlier. I however don’t think the price and the amount you get is justifiable since other products of this same size go for $8-10. If it was $10 cheaper than I’d give 5 stars. But $20 for both shampoo and conditioner adds up and almost seems a bit steep for something that doesn’t exactly do anything differently than other products I’ve used. Thankfully I’ve got shorter hair so I don’t ever feel like I’m using a lot of this product. But I’d recommend it to someone who isn’t worried about spending an extra $10 for something that does what Shea Moisture does.Cindy R
I have funny curls – my hair grows in almost straight, but then waves, and once a year I get an all over perm. I've tried almost literally everything. This conditioner is amazing! Of all the conditioners I’ve ever used (I’m in my 20’s so I’ve been through a looot of conditioners!) this one is by far the best. I don’t need a huge amount of it to get my hair untangled, and when I do brush through it I barely have any tangles at all. It’s also very gentle on my hair and the smell is light and not overpowering. So impressed with this product and very glad to have found it. Okay, at first I was suspicious about this product because I really only knew Sun Bum for their sunscreen so I was a little confused seeing they did products for hair. But guys…this product is AMAZING. As someone who constantly buys products to help her curly hair, this has been a life changer. I bought this on a whim because I was like, what's the harm in another product supposedly for curly hair? Boy was I surprised!! I used to cowash because I was having such a hard time keeping my hair from getting frizzy but as a consequence my roots would get kinda greasy and sometimes my curls didn't look as hydrated as the cowash would advertise. Finallyyyyy I found a product that actually hydrates my hair, makes it look great curly, and isn't making it frizzy or puffy. The only con about this product is that I really really wish they made versions of this product in larger bottles because the conditioner tends to go quickly especially if you have long curly hair like me. Delicious! Smells so good! I bought it to control frizz in my wavy hair. I am using in conjunction with the Curls & Waves Styling Creme and it is a nice combo for soft hair. This curl cream would be great for you if you’re not looking to have too much hold in your hair. It’s thick, but it doesn’t create a very strong cast for me. As you can see, my hair is already frizzing at the roots and it’s not completely dry yet. There’s no cast to scrunch out. The pump is also really hard to use and only dispenses like a dime size of product with each pump, which means I need to pump twice just to get enough for one section of hair. It is very hydrating, so I can’t knock it down too much, but it is probably my least favorite ouidad product, which is saying a lot because I LOVE ouidad. I’m giving curl quencher gel four stars because it’s definitely an improvement over the heat and humidity climate control gel which used to be my all time favorite go-to product until the formula was changed and it became a huge disappointment. Since I’m wearing my hair longer than ever before my curls need a strong gel that will keep them from getting frizzy. Curl quencher gel works pretty well, but it doesn’t give me that wet look or crunch that some gels create when they dry. (I actually liked that crunch because it held my curls in complete control.) My curls stay defined throughout the day and even the next day with the use of a satin sleep cap. I’m grateful for this product since my 17 year love affair with heat and humidity gel had to end when the formula changed.Pamela D.

*I received these products for free from Influenster and Carol's Daughter in exchange for my honest review, and WOW this product is GREAT! It smells SO GOOD, and is very easy to spread throughout the hair. It has protein in it which allows your hair to build up strength. This is amazing considering I have lifeless bleached natural hair that soaks up a lot of water and products but still ends up dry and breaking. Another thing I LOVE about this product is that it is free of coconut derivatives which is AMAZING because I have a coconut allergy and finding anything without coconut is almost nonexistent. This mask is really good, and I definitely recommend it. I’m not sure how often I will use it because it is a protein treatment and you have to be careful with those so that you don’t have protein overload and have the opposite affect of what you want. But, I will use this when I need a protein treatment to help my hair feel healthier and build strength against things like sun damage, heat damage, and overall just lack of care. Overall, even though I received this for my review, I plan on purchasing this product forever as well as the rest of the Goddess Strength line. I listed the ingredients below for reference as to why I don’t like this product and refused to put this in my hair. All of the beneficial ingredients are soo far down on the ingredient list. I love hair mask for my curly hair type (3c – 4a). I used many hair mask before where I fell I love with how soft and hydrated my hair felt and it can down to the ingredients and formulation of the products. This hair mask contains preservatives, silicone, alcohol and fragrance which are are drying and not very beneficial to hair at all. For curly hair types it’s highly important to keep it hydrated and this will not do that. I’ve also read up on review how there was residue left over and flaking from this product. I will refused to used this solely based off the ingredients and not wanting to risk drying out my hair. I received a deluxe sample of this and the Briogeo Copy of Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo from Sephora. The scrub I loved and I bought a full size one. The mask I put away because I had cut my hair real short at the beginning of the pandemic, and then forgot about it until I saw good reviews for it on influenster. Now that my hair is longer I decided to give it a try. It was really liquidy. At first I thought it was because it was old, but I looked online and I guess they changed the formula and now it's thinner than my conditioner. I put a lot on my hair because it was hard to know if it was working because I'm used to a thicker hairmask, when I saw it has rose hip oil in it which I'm allergic to so I rinsed it out well before the recommended 10 minutes. My hair looks nice after using. But even if I wasn't allergic to an ingredient the thin texture I don't like and it makes me feel like I have to use a lot, given the price I just think there are better hairmasks for a better price out there. Yes my hair looks nice even after using just a few minutes, but not nice enough to justify the price.
I need a haircut right now, so my 3b curls are looser than usual. Usually, I have a fairly tight spiral curl throughout, but my hair is overall fine. I need something to hold my curls together without frizz to keep the curls intact. I keep my hair long, but I need the dead ends trimmed. I don't regularly use a hair masking product, but I got this in an Allure box for this February. After one use, my hair was shiny, and my curls were tighter than they've been in months. It felt like I had a trim at the salon. My hair was very soft and bouncy, even with my usual styling products. My curls still held well despite how soft this product made my hair. I am very happy with the results and will use it again. The smell is pleasant but doesn't linger over my other styling products as well. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review from Briogeo and Octoly. I was excited to try Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair deep conditioning hair mask. I have blonde highlighted hair that is very long and heat styled and I also have some hair extensions currently so moisturizing products as well as sulfate products with no sulfate in them are important to me. I have used Briogeo products before and been pleased with the results. Overall I would say my results were average. I used the product twice, so maybe since it was you need to use it three times before you get two times stronger hair I would need to get one more use to get there? I liked that it felt thick going on my hair, not too watered down. But I did not care or the smell, it was actually slightly unpleasant to me, I could not put my finger on it. I normally use Olaplex as my conditioner and I like a conditioner that does not weigh my hair down and allows my hair to hold a style this one did that not as well as olaplex but better than most products do. I will continue to use it and see if my hair improves. Overall I think it’s a good product but it may be just a bit heavy for someone with flat thinner hair.lisa.z

I have curly, frizzy extremely dehydrated hair. First of all, this conditioner smells like a a coconut punch to your nose. If you dislike fragrance, this will not suit you. If you hate coconut, smelling this will make you faint. I do not mind gentle coconut smell, but this perfume is too strong. However, I got used to the smell over time, so now I no longer notice it. The performance, however, is nothing special. I noticed that my hair became even more frizzy than before, and not moisturized at all. The dispenser is horrible. The dispenser hole is extremely small, and I must exercise in order to get a good amount of product in my hand. Do not try taking out the dispenser, because the product is like a clump of clay and will not exit the bottle without the dispenser. Just use the pump until you give up. This is perfect for curly hair because it provides great moisture for dryer hair while not weighing down your curls (I have a 3A curl). The scent is great while not being too overpowering and I find the scent does last throughout the day. I shampoo 3 times a week with co-wash using conditioner other days. This conditioner always leaves my hair feeling hydrated, soft and keeps my curls manageable. This conditioner is a game changer in my hair routine! I used it in combination with the matching shampoo and curl enhancing smoothie. I applied this lightly and pleasantly coconut fragranced conditioner after using the shampoo. I live in France and ordered several hundred dollars back in December for my parents to bring from NY. I had never tried the products but after reading all the reviews praising them, I thought there would be no way they wouldn't work. Well I was wrong, I tried the Climate Control, Moisture Lock, Conditioner, Curl Quencher, Deep conditioner AND I could not get a brush through my hair with any of the products. I was really bummed as I was looking forward to finally have something that worked to tame my curls especially for the summer months. What made it worse is my experience with trying to return the product to Ouidad. The reason I ordered A LOT of product because I had confidence that it would work. Unfortunately my parents had to cancel their January trip due to last minute Covid travel changes implemented by France. I wound up traveling to the states in February and that is when I finally had the opportunity to try the product. After writing to Ouidad about my predicament and asking if they can make an exception, due to the circumstances of my situation, for which I have proof and allow me to return the unused product.The manager Saouda gave me a hard no, she didn't even attempt to meet me half way. Policy and rules prevailed!!! Instead of looking at it as an individual case. Guess they don't see me as a future customer so why bother making exceptions. Anyway, its my own fault for trusting the reviews and not the product before ordering such a large amount. Moral of the story, particularly for overseas clients… try the product first to make sure it woks for your hair. Tried this product based on the other reviews. After the first use it seems to do a good job with hydration and curls. However the smell is so pungent of that of Dial soap left over from the 80s it's hard to handle the stench it perpetually puts out during and after use. I had hoped that maybe the bottle I'd received from this website was maybe just bad. I tried calling customer service everyday for the past week only to be told the wait time would be 5 minutes and then told no one was available and to leave a message. I never received a call back. I emailed and received a notification that my email has been received however upon following up four days later still have yet to hear from anyone. I can't imagine this is how this product is supposed to smell as its odor is completely different from all the other products within this company's line. However without customer service getting back to me I will never know any different.

This is the best curly friendly conditioner I've found so far on this site. I need a lot of product but I feel like my 2C/3A hair is much more manageable with this than with other conditioners. The downside: this is the weirdest smelling product I've ever used on my head ever. First sniff is something resembling dill pickles. It then morphs into a kind of old man's cologne, like the musky kind that's overpowering. Only to settle on a very floral mix of the previous two scents. I have no other way to explain it. . . I have been on the hunt for a natural shampoo and conditioner that wouldn't weight down my curls and so far so good with this product. The only con I would give it is that the natural smell could be off-putting for some – myself I can deal with natural, herbal smells better than fake perfume scents. This shampoo lathers well for being sulfate free and I only need about a pump and a half for my hair, which is almost down to my chest. It rinses cleanly and I follow it with the conditioner and my hair is left really soft and my waves stand out even without putting gel or mouse in it – although I often do have to style it with some sort of product but that is just the way my hair is. I would recommend this to people with wavy to curly hair for sure. My hair is long and thick and frizzy and I feel like this has helped to tame some of the frizz. I have tried other brands like devacurl and this cleans better for me (and my hair is pretty greasy at the scalp) and is a better value. Bonus points for the pump!deskar

So after two washes, one with the oil shampoo that's apart of this series I am not a fan, at all. This left my 3a/3b hair feeling like straw. I am african american and caucasian, 25, and still looking for products that work with my multi textured, colored, hair and this is not one that worked. Ive used devacurl products, breogio products, mixed chicks, and random stuff I could find at the drug/grocery store, and this is by far the worst. The consistency and smell are nice but was even difficult to spread over my hair and run my fingers through–i simply couldn't. its also harder to comb through my hair when I used this. i wish there had been a smaller sample size bottle to try because $32 for the results I got feels like a crime. disappointing but i guess back to the search
I use this wonderful mask every Sunday and occasionally on another chosen day of the week. I like everything about it from the consistency, the light pretty scent, the ease of application to the stunning results I get after using it! if it makes your hair feel like straw. you have protein overload, a buildup of protein on your hair. Adding this protein rich product, which works great on hair like mine that needs it, will make your hair feel dry, dull and brittle. if this happens to you, look up how to treat it but basically, cut all protein containing products from your routine and focus on clarifying and moisture for a few months and then keep it balanced. (I think the blue hydro creme one might be protein free but check first, I know its more focused on moisture and has hyaluronic acid in it.) I absolutely love this and the hydro creme. they work great for me and my wavy with ringlets, fine bleached blonde and coarse grey, high porosity, dry, damaged hair. my hair needs protein and the bond repair salve, these deep conditioners and the hold me softly balm have saved my hair, can't wait to try more products.snikic
I have a mix of 3c and 4a high porosity hair. This is the first time i used a curlsmith product, but from the first use i could tell that this is a really good deep conditioner. The scent is light and pretty and the moisture that it gave my hair was amazing. It left my hair feeling very soft which was surprising. it is thick, but it still offers some slip. Once i rinsed the product out my hair, it was still soft and didn't leave a film feeling. I Gave only 4 stars because i haven't used it for long, but i will definitely keep using it.Rachel
I love love love this product and I have only used it once. It defines my curls and leaves my hair soft without the crunch. I have used other Styling custards and curl refiners that have left that icky feeling and hard crunch in my hair. This product smells fantastic even before you open it. It has a jellie like consistency. A little bit goes a long way. I would definitely recommend applying this on damp to slightly wet hair, not dry hair for best results. If I could add a photo I would. I have a twa- teeny weeny Afro. I would definitely recommend. I also love how their products have natural ingredients not a lot of junk or additives or ingredients that you can't pronounce and have to google to know what you are putting on you hair. I tried this product in two ways. I tried it as it was recommended, which was to use heat for deeper penetration and the other was leaving the deep conditioner on for 30-40 minutes. I feel like doing it these ways got me the samw result which is great for people who dont like using heat at all. Using this helped me detangle my hair because it gave enough slip from how moisturizing it is. Also, my half of my hair has been bleached twice and the color immediately after. That side of my hair had been limp for so long until i started using this for weeks. I want to add emphasis on weeks because its not a fast process and it took multiple uses to start seeing my curl pattern get stronger. My only complaint is that spreading it can be a little bit hard and you might have to use alot to fully saturate the hair if you long hair. This is also not buttery enough for curlier hair, like 3c to 4c hair. (in the picture i did finger coil my hair but everything i said still is relevant. In all my years I have never found a Deep conditioner that actually deep conditions. BUT THIS RIGHT HERE HONEST TO GOD, on all that I love has been absolutely and GEM find. I picked it up by chance at Target and was blown away. But of course my luck they were no longer selling in stores. I found only one other store the sells this and I pray they never stop selling. PALMER's you did it with the Lotion and now with the deep Conditioner. Must be the COCO Butter. 🙂Boston
