This product should be discontinued by the smell alone. The product itself seems to he ok for hair. The one and only time I used it, it did make my hair feel a lot more moisturized. But the smell…TERRIBLE!! It smelled so bad but despite the smell, I still tried it in hopes that it would go away. Well this made me sick. Trigggered migraines that lasted days. Worst of all, several washes later, the horrible smell would not go away. No way of knowing how bad the smell is prior to purchasing since it comes sealed, but buyer beware, you will regret buying it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCTLeslie R.
Based on description, reduces frizz and flyaways which I’m not sure why any product would want to reduce frizz or flyaways. I say that because that’s the point have natural hair to be free. And, unless you’re trying to control frizz and flyaways in a protective style then yes I can see why. I am a wash and go for a year and don’t mind the frizz and flyaways. The product smells really good thought!!! Even after hair dry, the product can be smelled days after without using any of the other MO products to keep hair moisturized. Based on the 8 fl oz jar🏺I got 2 uses wash/go uses and a little left for a 3rd. I have very dense hair which (when I say dense I mean that you have find my scalp lol) means this size jar is not really enough for my hair. I did not get a tingling feeling using this product and may be that didn’t leave on the required 15-30 minutes. I still would buy this product because my hair shine and for a conditioner to give shine that’s good. Anywho that’s my opinion on MO Babassu Oil & Mint Deep Conditioner. Love this mask! Ok, so it costs slightly more than I would like to spend on a tub of hair mask but it is worth it. Have repurchased already! The texture is more watery than the average mask but this just melts into the hair. I have naturally straight thick (previously coloured) hair and this mask leaves it silky, shiny and soft. There is a slight tingling sensation on the scalp but the directions say it is to be expected and means it’s working – always good to stimulate the scalp for hair growth I guess. There is a scent but I don’t mind it. Highly recommend.

I have type 4 hair with low porosity. It’s incredibly hard to find products that work well in my hair. The favorites of the hair community don’t do anything good for my hair and it’s very frustrating. This leave in is great. It allows me to detangle my hair easily with my fingers and makes my curls pop. I first use a herbal spray with honey that I made and then a pea sized amount maybe a little more and then finish with a sealer like Aunt Carole’s Pomade (also purchased at Target) and my hair is great. I bought Aunt Jackie’s Quench after falling in love with Aunt Jackie’s Curl La La Defining Custard. I’m so happy I did! Quench delivers all that it said it would! It’s moisturizing, leaves a good slip. It also helps balance the crunch factor if you use gel as the final step. I layered Quench, then Curl La La, (scrunched) then a bit of gel. Perfection! At first I tried Quench on it’s own. Beautiful “beachy” look all day long. In total, I love how it leaves my hair moisturized, shiny, soft, yet still keeps my 2C/3A curls pretty defined. Smells lovely too. If that’s not enough for a Leave-In, the cherry on top is that Quench is Paraben free, sulfate free, no mineral oil, no petroleum (taken from bottle). It’s a great detangler too! AND, it’s cost effective! I’m so happy to have found Quench… and Aunt Jackie’s product line. It’s hard for me to find amazing curly hair products that do not contain Avocado. i decided to try this in conjunction with the sheamoisture low porosity line. i have thick 2b, 2c, 3a hair but not a ton of it. it's been damaged over the years from heat and coloring and probably from using the wrong products this whole time. my hair is low porosity and protein sensitive but this mask as a deep conditioner once a week has absolutely transformed my hair. it's soft both straight out the shower and air dried. it's not as tangled and way easier to comb through which has made my hair fall out a lot less. the mask is thick but has good slip and i don't feel my hair is stringy when i'm running it through my hair. i don't think i've ever felt my hair this soft before. highly recommend if you have dry, moisture resistant hairpia
I liked the texture of this and the way it applied. It was very smooth, had great slip, absorbed into my hair rather than just sitting on top and because of how well it applied, a little went a long way. Once I rinsed my hair out, I felt like it could’ve been softer and shinier. I’ve definitely used deep conditioners that left my hair feeling much better than this one. I don’t have curls, my hair is mostly straight. My hairdresser told me I may be in protein overload so I researched the best nourishing products without protein. I bought this and I did as the instructions asked. My hair looks and feels better. The smell is nothing to me. My hair is also thin and fine and it didn’t weigh it down. I barely used any. I have low porosity 2B with fine strands, but a lot of hair. I typically leave this on for 30 min under a cap. Pros: made hair feel incredibly soft and manageable after rinsing out. Seemed to help with brittleness and strengthening the hair. Scent is delicious, exactly like a vanilla-mint cake batter. Cons: Not as moisturizing as I expected, still needed to add a lot of leave in after rinsing out. I would guess it’s maybe more moisturizing for high porosity. I would probably still buy it again but the Raw Sugar curl mask is my holy grail, and half the price.Jo
This hair care product is now one of my must have! I cut off using conditioner part of my hair care routine and decided to use on deep conditioners now that the harsh winter days are coming in. This is the first Camille Rose product that I have tried that I didn't like. All of the others so far have been amazing, but for whatever reason this deep conditioner left my 4a high porosity hair feeling drier and more like straw than before I used it. It is a very thick consistency, which I usually like. It seemed like it never fully sank into/was absorbed by my hair and after leaving it to sit for about an hour I could still see it sitting on top of my hair. It is also quite expensive so unfortunately I can't recommend this one.

This conditioner is gold in a jar! I have thick, coarse, 4a/4b hair and this is the only conditioner that keeps my hair soft and manageable even after it's rinsed out and dried. I believe it's best when used under a hair steamer or heating cap, but everyone's hair is different. The elasticity that it gives my hair is unreal. i decided to try this in conjunction with the sheamoisture low porosity line. i have thick 2b, 2c, 3a hair but not a ton of it. it's been damaged over the years from heat and coloring and probably from using the wrong products this whole time. my hair is low porosity and protein sensitive but this mask as a deep conditioner once a week has absolutely transformed my hair. it's soft both straight out the shower and air dried. it's not as tangled and way easier to comb through which has made my hair fall out a lot less. the mask is thick but has good slip and i don't feel my hair is stringy when i'm running it through my hair. i don't think i've ever felt my hair this soft before. highly recommend if you have dry, moisture resistant hairpia
I liked the texture of this and the way it applied. It was very smooth, had great slip, absorbed into my hair rather than just sitting on top and because of how well it applied, a little went a long way. Once I rinsed my hair out, I felt like it could’ve been softer and shinier. I’ve definitely used deep conditioners that left my hair feeling much better than this one. I don’t have curls, my hair is mostly straight. My hairdresser told me I may be in protein overload so I researched the best nourishing products without protein. I bought this and I did as the instructions asked. My hair looks and feels better. The smell is nothing to me. My hair is also thin and fine and it didn’t weigh it down. I barely used any. I’m very optimistic with this product after just one use. You don’t have to have curls to use this. Everyone needs a good nourishing mask!

I usually have to keep my deep conditioner in for 20-30 minutes on wash day, but I only kept this one in for 10 minutes and it penetrated so quickly. When I tell you this deep conditioner made my hair feel like butter…. My hair is curly and thick, and was very dry. I had tried different hair products that helped but didn't fix the problem. I didn't have to use a lot of the product (which is usually not the case). It is very thick and creamy with a light pleasant smell. It is not cheap, $38, but I can definitely see you get more than 6 treatments out of it. That's $6 for a treatment that feels like you got it done professionally. I tried this deep conditioner out and was pleased. The consistency is super thick and absorbs very well. It was like a thick body cream consistency. My hair was super soft and was easy to de-tangle. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the smell is super light but not very good smelling. The smell didn’t linger at all but I could smell it before rinsing it out and was not a fan. This is a fantastic deep conditioner! If you don't like thick deep conditioners or hair masks, this is not the product for you. What I loved most about this product was the fact that I could apply generously, but didn't use a lot. I have type 4, dry, low porosity hair, and needed a thick mask to use occasionally when my hair feels dry. After applying the product, I let it sit in my hair for about 30-45 minutes with a plastic cap and it did its thing. My hair was left moisturized and the mask was easy to wash out. The scent of the product is light when you open the jar, but once applying it, it does increase a bit. For some reason, it had a very masculine scent to me, but it wasn't too offputting. If your hair can tolerate coconut and thick masks, this is the product for you. My only recommendation is to avoid ordering it online and try to find the product in stores because the price is nearly double the amount than it should be.Sunny

I have been using Borago every weekend for quite a while now. I color my hair and sometimes felt it was a little on the dry side. I also highlight several times a year. The texture of my hair is absolutely beautiful since I started using Borago. The texture is very silky and holds a curl very well, or if I’m using my flat iron it is totally smooth. I bought the SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner about a month ago. Based on the shampoo I was extremely excited to try this product. Two minutes in I had some misgivings. The shampoo instantly hydrated my hair with its rich creamy lather. However, it was not so with the conditioner. I could feel the difference right away. My hair lost its silky feel from the shampoo and developed snags…always a bad sign. My detangling process became a chore, and NOT a fun one. For the past year, I have been trying to grow my hair back out from a bad cut and realized that the shampoo and conditioner that I was using was actually drying my hair out even though it was supposed to moisturize with macadamia oil but it had bad ingredients as well. DevaCurl was my go to for years and years. I loved all the products, but something changed in late 2019… My hair started to feel straw-like, but it also started to get gummed up faster. I used this in the shower every day and only used shampoo once a week and towards the middle of 2020, I had to start shampooing 2x/week because of how much build-up would be on my hair. I also noticed that my curls were losing their shine and bounce. I got lucky and my hair didn't start falling out in clumps, but I did notice that I was shedding more. My hair got so gross that at one point, I resorted to using Dawn dish soap on my hair to get it completely clean. My hair type is wavy but I have been trying to go curly. Through research I have found different ways to encourage my curls. The main ingredient to any of the curly hair methods is MOISTURE. Curly or wavy hair absolutely requires moisture. I recently also got highlights in my hair as well which dries your hair out. It’s necessary to add a hair masque to your routine. You will need to apply this masque to wet hair. Once out of the shower, I sectioned my hair and applied the product in my hair from root to end. Then I used a wide tooth comb to evenly spread the product. I then left the product in my hair for 30 minutes. Once the 30 minutes was up I then rinsed the product out of my hair. I got tied up in a work meeting so I didn’t have time to comb my hair and it ended up air drying. I noticed that my hair was soft to the touch, I didn’t really need to comb it out. The picture attached is my hair after air drying. No extra product, no time to comb out and you can tell that it accentuated my waves. This and olaplex literally saved my hair. I got married two weeks ago and my hair was wrecked. The stylist who colored it slightly over bleached it the week before – no big deal, just made it a little drier. THEN we went swimming at the Rehearsal dinner, and my dad didn’t mention he had shocked to pool. The next day my hair was straw. I had breakage, couldn’t get a brush through it, it looked like an absolute rats nest. I have my staple haircare now, it took me YEARS to find the right brand and way of doing it. This is not one I will be adding to my routine. Glad I got the travel sized one! This is a really decent option for those that want a silicone-free, medium to slightly heavier moisture, and plan to use it frequently. When I did use it, I found that for my hair it reacted more like my conditioner than a hair mask. Now this is MY personal experience! Some probably find this to be a really heavy moisturizing product. My hair did not seem to agree. It was frizzier than it is when I use certain other hair masks. I can’t personally recommend this product simply because I didn’t love it the first time, and won’t use it again. I need a haircut right now, so my 3b curls are looser than usual. Usually, I have a fairly tight spiral curl throughout, but my hair is overall fine. I need something to hold my curls together without frizz to keep the curls intact. I keep my hair long, but I need the dead ends trimmed. I don't regularly use a hair masking product, but I got this in an Allure box for this February. After one use, my hair was shiny, and my curls were tighter than they've been in months. It felt like I had a trim at the salon. My hair was very soft and bouncy, even with my usual styling products. My curls still held well despite how soft this product made my hair. I am writing this review for people who, like me, have fine long hair, dry and brittle. This product is outstanding as it is very different from all other seemingly heavy duty masks. First of all, yes, it is thick but will absolutely not weigh your strands down. Make sure that you towel your hair well first, then apply a small quantity of product. However, if you happen to use too much, or apply near the scalp, do not worry, it won’t weigh your hair down. For those with dry hair, leave it on for 15 minutes at least: your hair will drink it up. For me the most striking feature of this lovely-smelling all-natural mask is that it detangles your hair just fine while you leave it on to work its magic: l find little to none hair on my brush after l comb it through my hair before rinsing it. I use this after Davines NouNou shampoo, another excellent product that will leave your hair soft by itself. However, this may not be the right choice for normal hair: it is really aimed at dry brittle hair, or your hair may end up greasy.Elisa
This conditioner is an all time favourite. If you have a lot chemical damage or just need a lot of extra conditioning this stuff is fantastic. it hardly has any protein in it but tons of good conditioning agents and the ingredients are high quality. i only use about a quarter – dollar coin size amount for my long high porosity bleached fine hair and it gives my hair so much nourishment. wouldn’t necessarily recommend for low porosity hair though, i could see it being kind of heavy.liora.b

I really messed my hair up something awful when I dyed my hair a crazy color then used hair remover "out of a box." I'm in my 40s, and my hair can't "bounce back" like it used to. I tried everything to repair it; salon and drugstore brands. Treatments, conditioners, and masks. Even though Kiehl's isn't traditionally known as a hair care company, I like their other products, and this wasn't super expensive, so I figured I'd give it a go. I'm so glad I did! Now, the product doesn't smell great- it smells like olive oil. Like you'd cook with. That's a good sign, I figured: means it actually has olive fruit oil in it like the jar says! (Don't worry, once you put your after-wash product[s] in it, and blow it out, there's no trace of smell.) And you certainly get a generous sized jar for what you pay for. Well, boy, this stuff is awesome. I put a gunk in my hair and waited a few minutes, then ran my fingers through it to detangle it- it detangled so easily, it was ready for the comb! Unfortunately, there are no instructions on the jar, so I left it on in the shower for about 5 minutes (luckily, there are instructions here on the website below). The next time I used it, I could run my comb through it immediately (!) then tied it up to process for ~5 minutes before rinsing. I've used it weekly 2x so far and have noticed a HUGE difference in the resilience and breakage of my hair. I still shed like a buffalo, but I doubt any product in the world can help with that.DarlaDRK
Listen. I’m a first time mommy trying to figure out life and got no time for hair masks even though it has been bleached and thinning from postpartum. BUT THIS MASK. I bought it on a whim bc I was desperate and boyyyyyy do I make time to use this. I don’t care that I inconveniently have to go back and rinse it after washing my hair already (I liked the Olaplex no. 3 bc you just put it in 10 minutes before you shower) but it’s sooooo so good. Highly recommend – the consistency is thick and it smells aMAzing. This hair mask has made my hair feel voluminous, thick and SO silky. Absolutely going to buy this mask on repeat. Just try it!!JaKim
I can never go back. I have long fine hair that gets extremely knotted any time I go out in the wind. In an effort to avoid breaking when I brush it, I finger detangle in the shower. I used to just use conditioner for that, but there were still a bunch of stubborn knots. This product makes it easy!! And it leaves my hair silky and extremely soft. I recommended it to a friend who had very dry hair from bleaching and hers looks noticeably better now too. This product is like magic! The one drawback is that while avocado oil (which is in the product) is great for my hair, it does make me break out, so I have to be careful not to get it on my face and wash my back after use. But my skin is really sensitive – so if you can use avocado oil, this shouldn’t be an issue for you. I still think it’s worth it for amazingly healthy hair.whitphi94

After 2 months now of having used this shampoo I find my hair feeling weighed down and no longer has the shine it once did despite good rinsing technique. I have used this a few times when my split ends are cracking and I find myself picking them. After I use this my split ends are 90% gone and it feels so soft and nice! I can't stop running my hands through my hair. Best stuff I've used. I live in a dry climate with hard water and this is great for that because I use a lot of hydrating hair products and nothing has worked quite like this for the harsh weather and my dry hair!Megan
I love this hair mask! I tried going to a new hairstylist who destroyed my hair. She burned 6 inches off and my ends continued to break and fall off with the slightest touch. So I went back to my old stylist who recommended I use this. She told me to use it for 8 hours since my hair was so damaged. I used it twice in one week and my hair finally stopped breaking. This stuff saved my hair and it finally grew back thanks to this mask. It says to use 5 mins or 30 for extremely damaged hair twice a week or as needed but I still use it for hours. I either sleep with it on or just hang around the house with it wrapped in a towel. (Once a week because I only wash once or twice a week), My hair is naturally dark brown but I regularly bleach it platinum blonde and use heat often. This is what manages to keep my hair healthy through all of that. If you just need a little moisture you can do the shorter time but if you abuse your hair like me the extra hours are worth it! It washes right out and doesn’t leave my hair greasy. Smells great and it’s affordable. Not sure where everyone else that says it’s expensive is buying it but I’ve always paid about $15. I pick it up from Jcp salons or order it online from Jcp. Now I actually pay around $6 from a beauty store for cosmetologists. So that’s around what your salon is paying for it. Any salon should carry this in store and online and it shouldn’t be over $20. I love trying new masks but this one will always be a go to staple for me! Been using it for 8 years now.cassidy.h

So I want to start by saying I live in the desert and have super thin dry hair, so I was SUPER excited to try this product (I used all four products – shampoo, conditioner, mask, and leave in condition together). I used all four products for this account: At first I was only going to give this a 3 because on day one of hair being washed, I feel like my hair still ends of feeling and looking really dry (especially the tips – see photos). BUT day two my hair looked/felt better, and day three my EVEN better! I showered all three days, it only used the products the first day, so you can see the progress of how my hair softened, my curls came out, AND I LOVED how my hair felt day 3/4. Normally with silicone products day 3 I HAVE to wash my hair again because the product is so heavy at my roots, whereas I LOVED how these products made my hair feel several days later. I still took off a star because of how dry my hair feels on day one. I have to suffer through one day of my hair bit feeling so great to get to better hair days, and I don’t really love that aspect. But overall I would definitely recommend to others. Perhaps slightly ticker hair wouldn’t have as much problem on day one – mine is just so very thin.rebecca.d
This was a lovely surprise to trial. I have used many deep treatments since colouring my hair and this is definitely a favourite. I love the packaging and how eco friendly it is. Another excellent part of the packaging is being able to squeeze the last few drops of of the pouch- AMAZING! No wastage! When using this I loved the added hydrating benefits of plant-based emollients, the strengthening aloe and spirulina extracts too. They did everything I wanted by leaving my hair feeling strong, soft and manageable EVERY SINGLE TIME. The price point is reasonable in my opinion as this is such a nourishing product and I love how my hair looks and feels after using it. I was super excited about this Vox Box! I have extremely dry and damaged hair from a few too many bleaches too close together to go from magenta to bright turquoise colored hair in a short period of time! The ingredients are ingredients. I'm not one who is super concerned with ingredients; I'm more of a "does it work?" kind of person. The smell of the treatment is similar to the conditioner but not as strong with floral perfume notes. The consistency is exactly what I expected it to be and was like a slightly thicker conditioner. I really liked the pouch it was in! I feel like it fit nicely in-between my other bottles. A little bit went a long way when applying. I would do my hair first so that the deep treatment would have as much time as possible. Immediately after the treatment, my hair was much softer and had fewer flyaways than on days without the treatment. The instructions are to use it once a week but I used it every 5 days or so. This is definitely a product I would recommend and will probably be buying myself for future use!kierston.b

I use this product afterwards, and have the smoothest, silkiest, best feeling hair of my life!! The only thing of course is that it only stays like that until the next wash day. This product is a staple in my haircare regimen. I have very dry coarse hair that tends to be frizzy. This product really works! There is a very noticeable difference in my hair it makes it smooth, shiny, and very healthy looking. I try to use it as often as possible. The consistency is very thick and creamy so a little goes a long way but it does not seem to weigh my hair down and make it feel greasy. Also has a very pleasant scent. I definitely recommend this product if you have damaged, frizzy, dry or color treated hair or even if you just want to add a little shine.jackie.m

Oh wow. I see now why this is always sold out on Ipsy points lol! I’ve had this for a while but used it once and forgot about it. I’ve been on a strict finishing my products and it’s now this guys turn… I shampoo, condition my hair, apply this on my damp hair and put a hair towel on to let the product sink in. After a few minutes I use a hair dryer and then I use a Soleil round blow drying brush. I SWEAR I feel like I went to the salon and it’s all because of this product!!!!!!! I am truly #OribeObsessed. I love many of their product lines but this masque is magical. While so many others are turning to the latest and greatest claim of the other “O” product that comes in the minimalist 3.3 oz packaging, I am sticking with Oribe! I have naturally red, loose curly hair (between a 2c/3a) and I use this mask once a week to keep my hair nourished so that my curls and waves will hold in place and not dry out. While I am sure many will look at the price and flinch, don’t let that move you. I have hair past my shoulder blades and all I need to use is less than a teaspoon of product from roots to ends. Many other products will require you to use much more product in order to get the moisture and results that Oribe provides in one small dollop. This jar of masque will last me for months, even while using once a week. The pic I posted is what my hair looks like on day 3! Yes honey, even after pulling it up at night while asleep all I have to do is unclip my hair and refresh it with a few spritzes of Oribe refresher, or even a light mist of water and boom, out the door. This is NOT just a wonderful masque to provide moisture in your locks. I have found various alternative uses not mentioned on the Oribe website for this product. I have very long, red, naturally curly hair. I use about a tablespoon amount when I am using it as a deep conditioner in the shower. However, I keep this product on my vanity and use it every day for other uses. I dab my pointer finger in the product and use it to “piece” my bangs and to smooth flyaways. It holds my bangs in place beautifully with a little hairspray after styling my bangs. I also use this as a moisturizer for my hands before putting on my rings and heading out the door. Lastly, and this was the most shocking for me to experience….. I use it around my elbows and ankles just before I spray on my self-tanner!!! Yes, you read that correctly! It helps blend smoothly around those always tricky areas. The key when using this as a moisturizer is to blend into skin thoroughly. My skin isn’t sticky as you would think it would be by using a hair conditioner as a moisturizer. I have used this as a conditioner for my long hair several times and daily for styling my hair and moisturizer for my hands and you can barely see the product has been used. In essence, a little goes a LONG way when using quality products so don’t be fooled by the price. It’s worth every penny!!! I’ve included a pic for reference of the length of my hair based on amount of product I’m using. My hair was straightened in the photo but you can see how healthy my hair looks. BTW – This was taken at a salon that uses Oribe so it was a win win!destinyred
I really wanted to like this. I always heard such great things about Oribe as a company. I'm a curly girl , with fine coils but a ton of hair strands. I think it's important to add that I'm a white girl but most have more of an "ethnic"…hate that word but just for context…texture, other than being SLIGHTLY softer. The products that work best for me are always targeted toward coarser hair types. Also important to add, I am well educated in professional hair care and am constantly trying new products for my naturally (and also chemical induced) dry hair. In fact, most showers I use heavier conditioners or masques. This masque didn't impress me and won't be in my product rotation. I felt that it didn't seem to be moisturizing or "heavy" enough for curls like mine. Honestly, the smell was ok but that wasn't even appealing enough for me to note it as a positive. As another reference I used it more than once and kept it on longer subsequent times to see if that would make a difference in my experience. There was no difference. I feel bad about writing a negative review but I read these when I'm making purchases so I hope this helps someone. Perhaps this particular product, or brand overall, is better suited for those with just a slight texture without the need for a deeper/heavier conditioner.Brittany
