So personally this brush is not great whatsoever when it comes to detangling my hair (I have type 3c/4a curly hair.) So personally this brush is not great whatsoever when it comes to detangling my hair (I have type 3c/4a curly hair.) I bought this brush about 1-2 years ago and tried using it multiple but every time I would use it my curls would get really clumped together, I would have a lot naps/knots, and the definition in my hair was never as good as when I would use my fingers. However, recently I have finally found a use for this brush when it comes to styling my hair. This brush is amazing when it comes to slicking my hair back in ponytails and other slick back styles. Honestly it’s the only thing that really slicks back my hair nicely. So this is why I personally give it 3 stars.amber.i
The Denman brush is such a great styling tool. I would not recommend using this as a detangling brush if you have thick coily hair but as a styling brush it works perfectly. I have type 4 hair and it defines my curls beautifully with the help of some leave-in conditioner and gel. I definitely recommend giving this brush a try. The “Denman” brand is a bit expensive, but there are other brands that sell the same style of brush. They all work the same. You can purchase this product at most beauty supply stores.geena.c
I bought the brush because of the good description. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed.. Positive: – the brush is good in the hand. – The brush pulls dog hair well out of the hair thanks to the rubber pad (have 4 Hundeli..) – when wet, the brush can arrange the hair very well and the long bristles are enough even for my thick, long North African hair! Negatives: – The brush pulls strongly and is painful. – The bristles are exrtrem Hard and not flexible (the solid rubber pad gives only a little). – I wear a vintage cut for vintage curls, meaning my hair is not layered. The brush struggles at the tips. It gets through the top pretty well, the bottom I usually have to help with my fingers. – Never in my life have I had statically charged hair! I use a Schwerses hair oil for Indian hair…. nevertheless, this brush creates it after a brush stroke on dry hair that the hair flies around everywhere. Even "unloaded" on the heater / water tap of the brush brings nothing! Immediately it charges widee. (Hairspray also does not help…) My hair is always air-dried and kept supple with oil. The clothes I wear (even without clothes and without carpet…) does not change anything…. This one point brings me to such a negative rating. I've never had this in my life… and the brush is touted as extra static charge resistant thanks to rubber pads… too bad. Use it only wet… although I have actually ordered to the same order a Wetbrush… this wiederrum I use now dry, because it does not charge.Fatima

Don't care for this brush, and it kind of doesn't fit with the Denman product group. When you think of a Denman, the association is with the flexible rubber base that allows the bristles to move with your hair and flex, instead of pulling hair out. This one contrasts with that model, because it is just a solid piece of plastic. The bristles have to be pushed pretty hard to move at all, and definitely will not give while brushing hair. Also, the core is too narrow to do the kind of wrap-and-rotate move one would want with a curling brush. I will probably end up tossing it, once I get over the sunk cost effect.Leha C

I quickly re ordered the other item, and set about returning one of the brushes. I tried the brush and thought wow, do you know what? I'll keep both of them. Great website, lovely brushes. My daughter has just been diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, she screams and crys at me begging me not to brush her hair, saying she will do it. After using several cheaper brushes from the usual high street stores I decided to give this Denman a go given the reviews it was getting. Having used this brush for a few months now, I can honestly say that the quality of this brush speaks for itself. It is much less bulky than the high street equivalent, and has a nice semi rubberised texture to the handle which aids your grip. The bristles are attached to the body of the brush very well and gives the feeling of being able to withstand very harsh brushing as well the brute force of a 2 year old without worrying if the bristles will fall out. If you are wondering whether or not the extra few quid is worth it for this Denman, dont ponder any longer, this will easily outlast your next 23 cheaper alternatives and will pay for itself. This brush is life changing. I used to resent my hair so much. I wear a lob. My hair is straight and light brown. It used to either be flat and oily or blow dried and staticky. Now I can even go out of the house in between washes. I really wish I’d thought to splurge on a hairbrush before this — and this wasn’t even a serious splurge! I now like my hair. I purchased this brush because it was recommended for fine hair. This doesn’t seem to be the case IMO. The plastic bristles are so long that the boars brush section barely even touches my hair. I have to hold my hair out from my head so the long plastic brush pieces don’t jam into my head in order for the boar bristles to go through my hair. It seems designed specially for not fine hair. Also, several of the boars brush peices were randomly 1-3 inches too long and bent down into the base of the brush. Really disappointingRebecka H

Was sent the wrong sized brush but to be honest it works perfectly for what I need. My hairs been falling out and when I wash it the bits falling out are heavy and tugging on the rest of the hair causing more hair loss. I use this brush wet and dry and it really does help detangle my wet hair with minimal breakage.molly
Really reccomend this brush after using the wrong cheap brushes on my hair for years!! Also used the tangle teaser range but way too harsh and lots of hair breakage. Ive recently invested in the denman range of brushes for that extra bit of money and they havent dissapointed! This tangle tamer is amazing and doesnt pull or rip your hair out. I really wish I would have bought one of these along time ago I have pretty tangled hair down past my shoulders and have always struggled with hairbrushes. This one is a compact size and goes through my hair so easily. My first one lasted a bit over a year after the plastic unfortunately snapped, but during this time its traveled around the world and had to deal with some pretty big tangles so it didnt stop me from buying the same as a replacement. Its easy to get hair out of and I feel that my hair has been in much better condition since using it.Anonymous
