Skincare has changed a lot and there are so many more high quality options on the market now. And La Mer is more money than I want to pay even though it has always been soothing for my sensitive skin. So in the last few years I have tried several times to switch to highly recommended, dermatologist supported less expensive alternatives for protecting and maintaining skin's moisture barrier. I have continued using high quality serums and some moisturizing essences at times. I am not able to tolerate a retinol and have had trouble with vitamin C as well. Even though my prior attempts to change my moisturizer were not successful I listened to everyone who says its foolish to spend so much for something that is just a moisturizer. So I tried again this year to change my moisturizer. Well, this winter I started struggling with redness, irritation, bumps and itchiness. I tried removing each of my skincare items to figure out if one was causing it. I tried just using gentle cleansing and moisturizer only. I switched to yet another highly recommended dermatologist approved less expensive alternative. I stopped wearing my make-up. I went for a facial which made things slightly worse. I was about to call for a dermatologist appointment because I began to wonder if it was some kind of dermatitis or maybe even a fungal infection. I remembered I had a little bit of la Mer left in an old jar. I put a little bit on the bumps on my forehead and my jaw on the right where it was really bad. Went to sleep. Woke up with smooth calmed skin, no itching for the first time in 2-3 months. Only place I still had itching and bumps was on the left side of my jaw where I had not put any cream. I think there are a lot of people including dermatologists and influencers who comment on skincare but who don't have truly dry and sensitive (like really truly VERY dry and sensitive) skin. At this point I have tried at least 8 other highly praised alternatives including everything from CeraVe to medical grade skincare bought directly from the dermatologist in the last few years. They are all I have no doubt excellent products with very good ingredient lists. But I am here to tell you that if you have really truly dry and sensitive skin look no further than la Mer. I don't like to waste products so I will use up these last two creams I tried by alternating them with La Mer in the summer months. But I'm not going to keep trying to replace La Mer. Got my hands on a small pot of Creme de la mer that was good for maybe 5 applications and decided to give it a try, after all there had to be some reason this was recommended so highly to me, right? Unfortunately, just as I expected from a product that lists 'mineral oil' so high up in the ingredients list, and a potentially irritating 'Eucalyptus Oil' on the list too, I broke out literally on day 2. The only positive was that it did slightly clear up a dry patch on my right cheek but to be fair I could have achieved that with anything on my dressing table. It sat like an oily film for hours on my face and its a testament to my patience how I didn't grab the nearest washcloth to remove it with! Gave this to my mum to try (dry/normal skin type) seeing as I still had a bit left in the pot and her feedback was merely an "it's ok, nothing special". If you have dry skin or suffer from dehydration and are NOT sensitive then by all means give it a try. From an ingredients perspective however there is nothing 'advanced' about this formulation. So the full size face cream is $360 which is nuts. But after redeeming 500 points for a la mer set from Sephora I was hooked on this juice. I wasn’t going to buy the cream, just miss it for the rest of my life and regret that I wasn’t born as Bono’s daughter until Sephora released this set that came with the full sized product for 360 plus a decent sized travel cream. I tend to save up my Sephora gift cards for one of their 20% off sales and so i was able to snag this set for 20% off and pay with gift cards so I was able to justify the purchase. The gift box luxe, heavy, and suede on the inside. I don’t know why I was expecting a plastic jar but the product comes in a beautiful heavy ceramic pot that just adds the luxurious feel. Once you actually put this on your face your exes want to get back together and you find 200$ on the ground. It smells like seaweed but in the best way possible and the texture is like clouds melts into your skin, plumping it up and getting rid of redness or irritation. Removed a point for packageing. Nice set to buy because its cheaper to get this set than buy then individually. Comes in a nice black box. Only complaint is the packaging. Wish they spend less on packaging and no need for the box, so they could pass the savings down to customers. I tried a sample of the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore and liked it so much I decided to give SkinCeuticals a try, even though it's very expensive. I'm 68, so I looked at all the products and felt this anti-aging system was for me. I like to get trial sets to start with, because I have sensitive skin, but they only offered full size sets. I have been using it now for 3 weeks. I'm impressed and like how it makes my skin feel. I know with my age, I will have to wait to see if there are noticeable results, but if it at least helps to slow down the aging process, it will be worth it. I first used Epidermal Repair (ER) after a full face laser treatment. Not only did it speed up my skin’s recuperation and recovery, it never, ever irritated my skin or brought up blemishes. Every moisturizer leaves me with blemishes, but ER like magic in a bottle. I’ve tried finding something different/better/vegan. Nope. When I’m using ER people actually comment on how beautiful my skin is. (Me?!) ER will forever me my go to for a radiant complexion.
Doesn’t clog your poor and is a great repair cream for whatever skin concern you have. If you just did a peel or just scrubbed your face too hard this is a miracle cream to repair the damage. Ich habe die Creme als Produkttesterin zur Verfügung gestellt bekommen. Als erstes ist mir der angenehme, frische Geruch aufgefallen der sehr dezent ist. Die Creme ist eher pastös als cremig, das empfinde ich aber als sehr angenehm. Sie verschmiltzt auf der Haut und hinterlässt ein glattes, frisches Gefühl. Sie fühlt sich sehr reichhaltig, aber nicht fettig auf der Haut an. Jedoch fehlt es mir an nachhaltiger Aufpolsterung. I received this product for free from Influenster and AHC for reviewing purposes. I used this product as an alternative to my regular hyaluronic acid serum (The Ordinary) in my AM and PM skin care regimes. When I first started using this, I noticed immediate difference in my skin the next morning. My skin was soft and smooth and very moisturized. I found that the recommended number of drops to be too much for myself. I noticed a big difference in the texture of my skin. It looked like I was wearing face priming products to smooth out my skin. I also found that when I wasn’t consistently doing my skin care regimes, by face still retained a lot of moisture from when I last used the product. It definitely has long lasting effects. Personally, the ONLY short term issue I had with the product was the fragrance. I have been using fragrance free or natural smelling products for about 2 years. I was very thrown off by the smell when I started using this product. As the weeks went on, I’m now used to the smell. At first I did think it was a deal breaker, until I saw the effects on my skin. I was lucky enough to receive these products complimentary from AHC for testing purposes. All opinions remains my own. Aqualuronic Emulsion is a hydrating lightweight formula with a milky texture aimed to nourish dry skin, refine skin texture, plump up fine lines and wrinkles caused by dehydration. It uses a blend of hyaluronic acid, ceramides and french sea water. Key ingredients include – Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide, Ceramide, Eucalyptus leaf extract and Quinoa seed extract. AHC emulsion recommends 4-6 pumps per application. It’s so spreadable that I felt 4 was plenty, especially if you are layering products. Outside of testing purposes I would do 3 pumps. It’s lightweight in texture and on skin and is quickly absorbed without leaving any sticky or tacky residue. Suitable for AM and PM routines and I have been using for both. There was no overwhelming scents so I would say it’s going to be suitable for sensitive skin. It does leave your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Within my skincare routine this is applied after serum but before moisturiser, whilst I’ve been using this I have been able to use a thinner texture moisturiser without feeling as though I am compromising any hydration for my skin. I can imagine this being used well in colder months to maintain moisture and hydration in skin without having to necessarily switch to a thicker/creamier moisturiser. I use this at night as needed. Particularly in the winter months when it is windy. The panthenol is amazing for dry thirsty skin. Great for all skin types and reasonably priced. I always have this on hand. Great DEEP basic facial moisturizer if you are layering it with other products.

I just turned 40 and I've never had a regular skin care regimen except for throwing whatever I had around on my face during the dryest winters. My skin has always been really sensitive to products but once I got over my teenage years, its been pretty much good without any special attention. I received a sample of this and was really impressed with how it felt, it wasn't greasy or residue at all and I could put my makeup over it without any problems. It's a little pricey for someone who has never spent money on face lotion so I went back and forth on it but decided to splurge and I'm really glad I did. I've been using it for about a month and The other day I was looking at my face in he mirror and trying to figure out what was missing and I realized my eyes looked younger all around. The dark circles under them were less puffy and the crows feet were gone. Sometimes it does burn a little if I just used a face mask on my skin and opened my pores but I have extremely sensitive skin and it doesn't have any lasting affect. I’ve gone back to this moisturizer several times, and every time I am more impressed. It doesn’t miraculously erase fine lines or hyperpigmentation, it’s not that kind of product, but it moisturizes my sensitive skin very well and does an amazing job calming my redness. It’s so soothing! I put it on and my skin immediately feels better. I recently returned to it after my first bout with perioral dermatitis – an incredibly frustrating skin issue. Literally everything I put on my skin made it worse, and the basic drugstore moisturizers derms recommend for the condition (CeraVe, Cetaphil, LRP, etc.) are chock full of dimethicone, which soothes my skin but clogs my pores. This moisturizer was the perfect alternative, and it truly seems to be helping my skin recover. It’s truly rare that I’m blown away by a skin care product. It hardly ever happens, but this cream is an amazing exception. First off, I am not a “cream” person. My skin is normal, but my tendency towards pore clogging is prevalent. My skin will clog at nothing, despite keeping it clean, using high quality (read expensive!) products, refraining from foundation, regular exfoliating and maintenance, you name it. So I was a little apprehensive about putting a heavier cream on my skin. Quite the contrary, it’s anything but heavy. It’s goes on so light and the texture is smooth and silky. oh gosh, I love this gel formula by G.M. Collin. It just feels so good on the face skin. After applying my face looks plump with a nice sheen to it (but I do exfoliate everyday). So far, I am really liking this antioxidant. It's got a great consistency, neutral fragrance and absorbs quickly. I feel like it has helped brighten my skin and diminish some melasma and post inflammatory pigmentation. I have purged a bit, but I think that is because it is helping with my impacted pores. I've seen a huge improvement with my acne. I've used this consistently every night about 2 months. I have used the Hydrator and Lytera for over 2 years. They both work well. I particularly like Lytera. I have melasma around my cheeks, mainly due to my genetics (I am Southeast Asian). I have tried many products over the years, including hydroquinone, but none have been as effective as Lytera for getting rid of my stubborn melasma. I could see the difference after 2 months of consistent use. The Hydrator goes on smooth and some of the fine lines around my forehead seem to have lessened but the effect is subtle. I've been using this system for months now, and purchased the TNS+ advance serum twice already. Its an easy to use skin regimen that keeps my skin glowing, and reduced many of my worry lines and wrinkles. So I used this last year and it's available at your local Wal-Mart for 6 bucks and some change. I seen results in two weeks.
