I recently ordered this desk, and I'm actually pleased! It was the perfect size for my apartment. It arrived 48 hours after I ordered which was a plus. The assembly of the desk was simple but a beast. I read other reviews speaking on how long it took and figured I could top that, but boy was I wrong. It took me 2 hours and 30 minutes to assemble, the first few steps had ne for about 30 minutes. Some advise you definitely should assemble step by step, dont skip ahead, something I learned unwilling, and make sure you have the correct sizes Phillip's head screw driver, you'llneed two sizes. It comes with all the tools you'll need but the screwdriver it comes with, while it may get the job done the handle is too short. The end result is awesome if you take your time.Maurice
Modular and repetitive to build, so not very difficult but does take a while. I had all the parts, all the pilot holes, no major difficulty assembling, and no damage to the item. I highly recommend having an electric drill/driver to make assembly less strenuous. The middle of the desk feels little smaller than I thought it would. Overall a decent desk and looks nice.Keem B
For those of you debating on whether or not to purchase this desk, I highly recommend you do! I don’t usually leave reviews, but felt you might pull the trigger if you hear a positive review rather than most of the negatives I read on here and other places in regards to this product. First, it isn’t complicated at all to put it together. Perhaps instructions are not super detail, but it literally tells you what to attach/screw to what bases on letters and numbers. Let me also say that I, myself am not very good to put stuff together. And was actually able to, without another person although it’s recommended. Secondly, I do suggest you read the instructions, get familiar with the pieces, and do inventory cause I read people were missing parts or something. It did come in two different boxes, but they arrived together. I will say that it is well packaged, and am sorry for those that received damaged products. But I personally think that’s the delivery company’s fault not real the desks supplier. I hope my tips and review helps someone that’s debating whether or not to purchase it. Also, I’ll gladly help anybody that needs help, via email. Tips: instructions state to put the cam lock first, and then the bolts to attache pieces together. I personally found that it’s best to screw the bolt, attach the piece, then at least input the cam lock to lock it in place. It’s only logically to do that because you’ll have more trouble attaching parts together if you put the cam lock first. Everything aligned perfectly on my end, I know some people said there were gaps. I don’t know if it was a “bad” desk, or they just didn’t put it together right. Another thing, do pay attention to pictures, they really help. For example on step 3 it doesn’t literally say to flip side bored 5 and 6 before attaching piece 9…but you’ll notice in the pics that the panels are flipped and a side note stating “panels 5 & 6 are shown upside down”. To some it might seem logic to just flip them, but others might be iffy since it doesn’t literally say to flip them before attaching last piece.Steven

Please STOP. Do not waste your time with this desk. I just ordered it on 1/25/2021. I received it on 1/27/2021. I opened the box, and started the assembly. It is not hard to follow the manual. However, as I am putting it together, I was checking the pieces and was shocked to see so many of the them either have scratches, dents, and chipping. It was like I got a used desk. See the picture I attached to get an idea. I emailed the company customer service and they responded that the damage is more than 50% and it is better to return the desk. The problem is that it is not easy to gather the pieces back in the box and take it to the store. The box is heavy. That is why I am advising everyone not to waste time and effort with this desk. This desk was not designed well. I have put a lot of furniture together that were perfectly fine. But with this, the screws were falling out in a few weeks. Then I moved and things just got worse. I’ve moved with furniture multiple times. Nothing fell apart. But for this desk, I couldn’t lean on the short part of the L and eventually it just fell. This item was totally worth the purchase. Me and my husband, both, work from home. I recently went online looking for a new desk because I have 2 monitors and the top of my desk is always crowded. The design is great. Assembly was time consuming- all parts were in package and instructions were relatively clear. It tooks us about 3 hours to build. I appreciate the table top space for working. I am a bit disappointed with the drawers- they do not line up well and the drawer slider are stiff. The file drawer doesn't stay level. I don't have access to the whole drawer as they do not roll out fully. I cannot put in a file without having to force it in. the big lot website was easy to browse and items had plenty of description. However, when searching for items using the search field provided, the hits on the search was not accurate. The search feature needs to be tuned up. The office desk that I purchased looks nice when I put it together. However, the large drawer is stuck and very difficult to open and close. I checked and double checked the installation, but I have not found a solution to the stuck drawer. Also, the instructions that came with the desk had drawings but no written step-by-step instructions. This made the process very difficult and time consuming. Another issue was that not all the pieces were labeled with numbers or letters. Only one tiny glue container was provided which was not nearly enough for the project. I love this desk. Assembly was easy, but these things out of the box always seem overwhelming. I put this together in a little over an hour and it gave me no issues so it was pretty fun comparatively. I am not a fan of the handles it comes with which are chintzy and don’t seem purposeful, but I had planned to shop for replacements which were easy to do because they were standard size. I picked up these brushed nickel from home depot for less than $15 for 3 and it really elevated the look. The only negative is the back side of the drawer cubes are unfinished. The support beam is finished on both sides and it would be nice if they were as well so you could float the desk in a room. I’m planning to resurface those with a peel and stick decor paper or other material that can be applied easily to the backside. Stunning ! I must say I was nervous ordering from a Walmart hosted company and a large purchase. I contacted the company right away because I was second guessing my decision however… this desk was already on route – well packaged and absolutely beautiful. The glass is thick and it was delivered in its own crate like wood frame. A few of the wood pieces were pressing in on the cardboard and I thought OH NO! When I first bought the desk, there was a HUGE piece of wood chipped off and missing, when trying to get a refund or replacement. There were a few things wrong with this desk. Upon opening the box, it had been damaged in 4 places during shipment. I sort of overlooked this damage because I thought I would be able to fix it, which entails me having to go to the store to get wood fill. Annoying, but not necessarily a huge deal. What was super annoying was that it literally took over 3 hours to put this together and I had to ask my dad (professional carpenter) for help. Parts were not labeled and the instructions were just pictures. Handles are chinsy and I will probably replace these too. Lastly, there was literally styrofoam all over the place from this thing. Nice desk for the price. The building instructions are TERRIBLE! My guy is a master certified technician, so very accustomed to putting things together, he had to go back MANY times and remove/switch up screws/placement. The quality of this product is beyond poor. When I tried putting it together the nails cracked the wood and the entire desk its self fell apart and every single piece was broken, there was no way to return it and because every piece broke in half. I'm beyond disappointed and mad that I have bought this product and lost $188.00 with shipping. As of now I will NEVER recommend this product or order from Walmart these kind of items. I purchased this through Sam's club and the price was great. The size is perfect for my application. It was missing the instruction manual in the packaging so I'm only giving it four stars, but I went online and was able to find it on the Techni Mobili website. I'm writing this review because I was really impressed with the packaging and labeling of the components, the picture description of each component and also where each component was located on the finished desk. This is the expanded version of the Sauder Palladia computer desk, with three extra drawers. There's so much to like about this design… Many of the features you'd find in significantly more expensive pieces are included, and while no one will mistake this for a $5,000 desk, it looks far more expensive than it really is. (And it actually sells for a lot more elsewhere, too.) First, it looks good from the other side, too. Even better, the panel on each side is cleverly hidden extra storage. Shallow, to be sure, but a great use of space that's normally wasted. The desk top is plenty roomy enough even for a busy executive, and there are two built-in holes for cords. The center "drawer" is actually a slide-out keyboard tray. (The drawer front pulls down to extend the space and give better access.) The lower drawer has rails for hanging files. The desk measures roughly 65" long, 30" deep and 30" tall. It ships in one carton at a weight of about 243 pounds. Putting it together is no small task. There are numerous (and very helpful) "how to" videos on the Sauder website, but it's a very big job; consider hiring a pro if things with lots of parts frustrate you. Also offered in the Palladia collection are a bookshelf, credenza, desk with hutch, L-desk, lateral file and more. Five different finishes available. I couldn’t wait to receive this desk and I have never been more disappointed with an item in my life. Looks NOTHING like the photo. First, it’s gray not light brown. Secondly, it has huge black marks all over it. I’m assuming this is because the manufacturer wanted to make the wood look distressed but instead it just looks like a toddler took a sharpie and drew all over it. Terrible purchase. False advertising. Definitely not as described. Buyer beware!!

There are 40 pages of instructions with good illustrations and well-marked parts. It just takes a LONG time to do it. But, I knew that going in. Great purchase. Highly recommend. The boxes shipped just fine (arrived one week late) but once I opened it up, the main desktop was damaged. It has a sizable gash in the top and the edges are pitted up. Looks like someone at the factory let it slide through any quality checks (if there are any). Also, the instructions were horribly written but thank goodness I know how to put together furniture or else I'd been stuck. Lastly, the cabinet drawers do not line up properly. I've adjusted them and used their pilot holes but the middle door is still 1/4" off center. Would be nice if the company would contact me to replace the damaged items for FREE and tell me how to correct the drawer alignment.lslivkoff
I have had this desk in all brown for over 4 years now, and it has held up all through my husbands engineering schooling, and it has handled several moves where we had to disassemble and reassemble it back together. And now it is in my husband's man cave, where he sometimes uses it for work projects, but mostly for playing video games. He managed to take the middle piece out, and now instead of a U shape desk, now used as an L shape desk. The product arrived after two weeks (as expected). The product comes with a million steps (but I expected that too). One of the main boards was missing the pre holes and had to contact the manufacture. They were really nice and shipped a new product to me to replace it. Finally got everything together and started to notice a lot of dents and scratches on the desk sides. The metal strip around the edge made it very uncomfortable to use. Felt that it was cutting my wrist every time I would sit down. Overall the edges are too sharp. Would not recommend, I had to send this back. Please take note, this is pressed wood with a laminate finishing. You will not be able to break down and out back together again without considering the risk of product being unstable or shaky.Buyer

I don't ever review things, but this one was worth it. I love this desk. It is the perfect height and has exactly what I needed in terms of storage. I use them separately (desk is against one wall and the hutch is on the opposite wall), and I got two larger L-brackets to make the corner piece work as an extension of the desk. The color is even better than I could have hoped for. Very much like the picture. Some of the drawers don't line up just perfectly, but that might be my fault in the assembly process. Overall, it's very sturdy and very heavy. The assembly process was rather arduous, I will say. By myself, it took me about 4-5 hours to set everything up. But all you really need is a Phillips head screwdriver. It's pretty cut and dry.Banana
The details specifically say the short (right) side is only 55 inches, but its 58 inches. I even called Hayneedle before placing the order to confirm it was 55 inches and they looked into it and said yes it was. After it was built, I realized this was wrong. I wasn't able to use the desk as I had wanted, but I decided to improvise by using half as a part-office storage/part display for my drinking glasses (and looks good with a picture of mine above it). The actual desk part is separate from the part with the drawers. You can actually use it this way and just save the leaf that goes with it for later if you move or move the desk to a new place in the house. That is what I'm going to do for now.CCSD
This desk is very sturdy aand the instructions are clear and easy to follow. I only wish the small drawers under the desk top weren't so close to the legs, they've got some deadly corners and my knees aren't too happy! Otherwise it's exactly what I needed. Has a ton of storage space, great desktop and love the extra space thanks to the corner piece, great for the printer.

I bought this over a month ago as I liked the style. However after assembling and sitting at the desk I realised very quickly that there is very little clearance under the desk for your legs! I’m only 5”3! I’m working from home full time so I will need to sell this desk (as you cannot return when assembled!) as I am unable to sit at it comfortably. I didn’t think I would have to measure the height under the desk to check it can actually function as a desk! Definitely a case of style over substance. This desk is really beautiful and well made – I'm a huge fan of the bold matte black and the gold-dipped feet. The only thing is if you don't read the measurements carefully, you might not realize how short it is. Most desk chairs won't fit with it – I had to get a youth sized chair, but even when it's all the way down, I can't cross my legs under the desk. If only the desk legs were a few inches longer!Carly

So after a few days of looking for a vanity type desk I came across this one on Amazon. But unfortunately it said it’s not available anymore, so I searched up the store and found they had it on the Walmart site. I’m so glad I kept looking for it because it’s beautiful! The end result is worth it! The outside of it is super glossy and clean. The legs are a brownish bronze type of color. Pretty nice color but it’s definitely not gold if thats what you’re interested in. I made my order on January 8 and my delivery was set for January 21. To my amazement it got here on January 14!! CA to TX. Delivery was super fast. It does come thru FedEx and unfortunately I knew there would be a chance of them mishandling it, and sure enough. The box has about 5 holes in it. Two of them manage to actually puncture thru but only one of them damaged the desk. I know it was FedEx because the condition of the desk is immaculate. And the holes match up to the dent on the desk. Thankfully though it’s not noticeable from far. The actual packing of it was good, every inch of it has styrofoam and the four corners had a hard cardboard to protect the edges. And it has plenty of tape to keep it from opening. Nothing came loose or with room to move around. The height of the desk does seem shorter than others but it’s not bad. You might although have to re think a chair with arms on it. I have a stool from ikea and it fits just fine. It took my husband an hour and 16 minutes to build it. He did mention to pay close attention in the very beginning because it gets a little confusing but if you take your time and look carefully you should be just fine. To the packing crew I would recommend labeling it fragile/or handle with care because having to return it for someone else’s mishandling would be such a bummer for anyone! I was looking for a cute, small desk for my home office and this was perfect!!! I’m 5’1”, 120 lbs and I was able to build this by myself despite the instructions claiming 2 people needed to build this. No scratches, however I was missing the back piece to the desk (piece #6). I emailed the seller regarding my missing piece so hopefully I will be receiving that soon as I have not heard back yet. Either way, I was able to build the desk completely without that one piece, and since my desk will be against the wall, you cannot tell. If my desk were to be in an open area, then the missing piece would be noticeable. I will attach pictures of where the missing piece should go for your reference. Disappointed with the experience and the product. . . The delivery folks dropped it at my neighbor’s doorstep instead of at my place. Given how heavy it was, it was quite difficult to move from their house to mine. . . Opened up the box and one side of desk edge is rough and unfinished. It’s got wood / wood-ish splinters protruding out and someone will guaranteed get hurt or be cut by it. . . The desk is supposed to be a smooth finish and this quality is very disappointing. Table works great, fits my home office perfectly and I like the all-black look since it matches anything. The crank system seems to work great and I think it will be much more reliable in the long term compared to an electric desk of comparable value since I've seen other reviews saying the electric ones stop working after a few months (they you're just stuck with a $250 stationery desk which is not ideal) so this removes the issues that can occur with electronics. Also the height adjustment is great for me and it has a very wide range of how high and how low it can go. The system is easy to use (takes about 30 easy turns of the crank to get it to standing position for me). Only complaint is there is metal support bar connecting the legs and my knees hit it sometimes preventing me from scooting my chair in completely hen I'm working. Not a huge deal for me and I'm guessing being right against the desk isn't the best for posture anyways.DEEPTI

As a Coronavirus work-from-home employee, I needed a functional work space that would allow me to utilize a small area. This desk measured the space I had PERFECTLY and looked great when it was put together. The "drawer" for the keyboard was flimsy, and actually broke off completely. I put my foot up on the side of the desk, above the black bin, and the screw broke through there as well. I was not misusing this new desk – it is completely flimsy. This desk is good for a small person but too small for an adult. I got this desk for my six year old to do virtual schooling. He was unable to fit his chromebook on top and also work on his worksheets at the same time because the area on top was too small for both things. It is made of pressed wood so you definitely can't be too rough with it. It looks very nice though. I like the color and texture of the desk. The side basket is able to hold all of his school supplies and he can fit his notebook on the side shelf. However it is a pretty cramped workspace.Tonya
It’s been a few days since we got this, and so far it hasn’t had any problems apart from the ones listed below Instructions ok, pieces not -The instructions were decent, pretty readable, the pieces though, they were difficult. It was difficult to tell where the predrilled holes were Weird lines -The first thing I noticed on building was these weird lines, which weren’t scratches, it was embedded into the wood. But that was at a big problem for me. Could just be the packaging No spares -Not really a big one for me, but There wasn’t any spares of the nails and nuts. So if you’re buying this, don’t lose your pieces. Apart from the assembly part, there isn’t much I can complain about, so if you’ve got the time, patience, and not bothered by little design flaws, this one is for you. I must say this desk is way better than what I expected. It came very nicely packed, and it only took me about 15 min to assemble considering am not good reading instructions but it was very simple to fallow. I am very pleased with this purchase. Each piece was very easy to assemble; there were no alignment problems and no missing pieces. The final product looks just like the on-line pictures. Great quality; real wood! Perfect for my son's room…I think he is even spending more time on his homework. You can arrange/orient the five pieces to suit your needs/space constraints. This leads to a very minor "con," which would be that the pieces are stand-alone and do not lock together, which results in a slight separation between the pieces. If this bothers you, you could always buy a few brackets and join them together yourself.Beth
