I am happy with the results, I put my product in and then brushed through when my hair was wet and it did seem to help with definition. I am IN LOVE with this brush! When I purchased this brush I was mostly buying it for my 5 year old. She has very very thick curly hair that goes all the way down to her tailbone. Because of that her hair knots so easily and shes really tenderheaded so i usually wait to brush her hair while im washing it. Ive tried SO MANY brushes meant to detangle and meant to be used on wet hair and all that. It would take FOREVER to get her hair brushed, about an hour at the least. But then i found this brush, and it has helped so much! It only takes 20-30 mins to brush her hair at the most. It's so easy to brush it. My daughter loves this brush too because "it doesnt hurt when you brush it anymore mama" lol. What I thought was really cool about this brush was that I can slide up the brush part and take out the brissles and clean it easily! The only hard part is remembering where the brissles go once youre done cleaning it. The only thing I could see being a problem is the fact that the brush part slides up, it may end up sliding up while youre brushing. I havent really had this issue other than the it sliding up a tiny bit but I honestly dont even notice it until I'm done brushing. It also has a silicone grip at the end of the handle. I have fine, wavy hair that tangles very easily and this brush is perfect for untangling without pulling the hair out. I can't believe I waited so long to buy one! This is a great brush. I have long and thick hair that is always tangled. I spend a good 15 minutes after showering getting tangles out and still have to brush it several times a day to keep tangles at bay. As exhausting as that may sound, I do love my long hair and will do whatever I have to do to keep it long and looking good. I find that the best way to attack my tangles is to use 2 different brushes. After showering, I will use or any good leave in spray as well as on my ends and then start brushing with brush #1 until I find that I’m not making as much progress with it. Then, I simply switch to brush #2 and the remaining tangles usually brush through pretty easily. Doesn’t really matter which specific brushes I use, as long as it’s 2 different kinds. I find that my works best as my brush #2. If you struggle with detangling, definitely give this brush and method a shot!alex.a
The Tangle Teezer for thick and curly hair is okay. For the price, the brush is really light in weight and cheap feeling. Also, it is made for right handed people and not left, which I feel a little bit left out on. My hair is super thick and course with some waves and curls, and I normally use a denman brush. When brushing, I did see there were only 4 strands of my hair left in the brush, which tells me it’s probably pretty gentle, and I did see some benefits from the long bristles that were actually able to reach my scalp unlike some other brushes. I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have thick hair, not even if you have medium and curly. The bristles would just be way too long for thin to normal hair thickness and cause pain on the scalp. I have tried this brush before the shower the detangle and still didn’t have many tangles when wasting my hair. Only time will be able to tell if this will cause damage to my hair. I am not exaggerating when I say this brush is the best brush I have ever used for my daughter's hair. She's 4 and has her hair down to the middle of her back. The texture of her hair is like mine, fine, but she has a lot of it. As someone who has been in the beauty industry for 8 years I have tried so many hair products and tools. While I am an esthetician and skin is my focus, looking good and trying new products and tools of all types is my jam. I have super long color treated hair. It has a wide paddle shape which is not new to detangling type brushes, but the unique separate “fingers” on the brush are very different. They move and go through hair with more ease. I loved this brush. this is the first detangling brush that is easy on my scalp. I always had problems growing my hair because it's curly and until now. I believe this brush really helped stimulate my hair and made it grow really long. the only reason this brush gets a 4 star because i think there can be some improvements. I used this brush every time I get out of the shower and after 8 months of using it, it broke near the handle. I might've been applying too much pressure at times? but I still think it shouldn't break. Also, the logo faded after month 2 or using it. Probably one of the best hair brushes I've ever owned. The ordinary vented plastic brush I purchased from my local drugstore kept pulling my hair out every time I brushed. I have a mixture of 3C/4A/4B high density hair. The packaging states that it is for 3B/3C hair. The key is to detangle IN the shower, IN sections, on DRENCHED hair. Idk why I didn’t purchase this sooner. It made my wash day a breeze. My generic denman brush was pulling on my hair and it took FOREVER to detangle and sometimes it still wouldn’t be fully detangled. I have bleached, fragile, fine 2c curly hair and have avoided hair brushes for years because they made my curls look terrible. I recently decided to undertake a new curl method that includes brushing my hair, so I ordered this brush. it's so gentle! I have a sensitive scalp and usually have to gingerly brush my hair. I did not have to do this with this brush. I normally brush when my hair is soaking wet, per new method, but I brushed my hair while dry to prepare for bleaching it and it made my hair feel silky smooth, which has never happened before with a brush. I was in such awe and couldn't stop touching my hair. It's never felt like that before. Usually when I brush my hair dry I look like I've been electrocuted. I have fine, thick, wavy/curly hair to the middle of my back. It can be an absolute nightmare to detangle, and I really wanted to love this product. I guess it did an okay job at detangling? But I had abnormal amounts of shedding during the few weeks that I used this brush and I'm pretty sure it caused some breakage (more than what is normal for my hair) too. It was also more difficult to hold onto this brush than I anticipated since it doesn't have a handle. After a third or fourth time dropping it onto the floor, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and bought a Wet brush instead, which has worked a lot better for me. I have purchased 3 brushes over the years, but NO MORE. They used to be fabulous but have now gone CHEAP! The bristles are thinner, flimsy, so it dangles and pulls my long hair, and the tips fall off. I broke my first brush but have gone back to using because it's so much better than the new ones even though its broken. I looked at them side by side, huge difference, quality going down with each purchase after the first. Tips fell of the 2nd brush, thought I just got a lemon, and the 3rd is horrible, I have only used twice, pulls my hair so bad. I wish I could have tested out in the store because I would not have made the 3rd purchase. I am obsessed with this brush. That's no exaggeration! I have long, thick hair and this brush has been a God send! The curved shape and flexibility feels like it grips your head as you brush and gives you a feeling similar to those popular scalp massagers. It being vented is also great for blowdrying. And the little hidden parting tool that can be pulled out and flipped around when needed is just the icing on the cake. I have seen quite a few reviews say this brush broke but if you buy the right size for your hair as well as brush from the ends to the root like you're supposed to there will be zero issues. Hair type is fine and thick, hip-length. I wasn't expecting much from this little thing, but now I'll never be without one! I use it every time I shampoo and definitely whenever I use my scalp scrub. I've never had dandruff, but ever since I moved somewhere with hard water a couple years ago, my scalp has been itchy and just generally giving me problems. My hair was basically inflexible at the root; just trying to move my usual part caused soreness and pain until I'd give up and flip it back. Weird, right?! Turns out, I just needed some help because of how thick my hair is to get deep down to the scalp for a good, thorough scrub for all the hard water build up. Cleared everything right up after about two weeks of regular use. Additionally, I've noticed it keeps my brushes cleaner a little longer and, bonus, my manicures last longer because I'm not scrubbing through my hair with my nails anymore. Worth every penny!Kelly
It's a little smaller than I thought, it only fits 3 fingers and it's a little annoying, but maybe it makes more sense design wise I'm not sure, you can also use the side curves to hold onto it if needed. I have long curly 3a type curls and not too thin or coarse hair. I used it for shampooing and it's not too sharp it feels clean. And as I said it's a little small, so it doesnt cover as much scalp so it's a little tiring. I also used it detangle in the shower with the curl talk mask and it was pretty easy to detangle starting from the bottom working my way up. It did take effort certainly did not glide through. There was a normal amount of shedding, I didnt think it was too much hair fall. I feel like I got the benefits of the tangle teezer brush and shower brush in one. I have thick curly hair and would wait until it was almost time for a new manicure to wash my hair so I wouldn’t completely destroy it in all my kinks and coils. My scalp gets really dirty and I really need to dig in and exfoliate it often. With this product, I don’t have to do that with my nails anymore. This gets right in between all the kinks and coils. It saves both my nails and time on wash day. I may actually be able to do a wash n go last minute if I need to because of this and the detangling brush. This brush is way too rough on my head… I don't think I'm particularly sensitive on my scalp but this way too much. Also the breakage from this brush was crazy to see. I could look down at my counter top and see all the prices it broke off. Not that cosmetics matter cause it's a hair brush, but the wood also started to break and crack. I had purchased a brush similar to this that cost twice this amount and my daughter lost it… so I wasn’t ready to invest in one that was too much but needed one that still gave me results but cost less.
